A/N: Hey there, friends! Two chapters in one day? I know, exciting! More like I'm not patient enough to wait considering I have two more chapters after this one already written and am still working on the remaining ones that need written. The chapters are acting more as scenes therefore that is why I am keeping them short. But...without anymore stalling! Enjoy!
I wake in a bed in a very unfamiliar hospital. My clothes are still on and nobody is around. It's quiet, aside from the staff in the back ground responding to emergencies, which I assume mostly came from earlier.
I sit up and swing my legs over the bed before ripping the monitor thing off of my finger. I remove the blood pressure cuff and pull the iv needle out of my arm. I've read a lot about how to stop bleeding, so I grab a cotton ball out of the drawer, and clasp it against the area that held the needle. I bend my arm and let it do its thing.
I walk out of the room and make my way out of the hospital. Nobody noticing that I left. I have no idea where I am. Once I'm outside, I look up at the buildings, and see the planet one is farther away now. It stands taller than a lot of the surrounding buildings which makes it a wonderful way point. I take off towards it without much thought.
I'm standing in front of it when I man taps me on the shoulder and I turn to face him. My stomach does a flop when I see his face and I run. "Hey!" He yells and he runs after me. "Wait!"
I run for as long as I can with him still hot on my trail. I don't know how I manage to lose him, but I stop after scaling a fence, to catch my breath. I'm bent over with my hands on my knees panting really heavily. It was the same guy who wore the red and blue get up. The one who had saved me from a certain doom but he was wearing a business suit with a name tag the read: Clark Kent.
I stand up straight after I can breathe mostly normally again and start sneaking down the alley I had lost him in. I'm creeping along when I hear someone ask me, "Who are we hiding from?"
I don't mean to vocalize the startle or nearly jump out of my skin. Before I can run again he grabs my wrist. I notice he doesn't grab it rough, nor is his grip tight, but I still attempt to shake him off. "What are you doing?" He asks and I just look at him. "You don't have to be afraid of me, you know. I'm not going to hurt you."
"Who are you?" I blurt out, still trying to break free, still miserably failing.
"I'm Clark." He responds and I stare at him. He's got the same face, body, eyes, etc as Derek Hale but everything about him says that he is a far different person.
"You look just like him." I mumble and he looks at me with furrowed brows.
"Who is him? Derek?" He asks and my eyes snap to meet his.
"You know him?" I ask quickly and hopeful.
"No, but you called me that before you fainted." Clark explains and my face turns red.
"Uh, sorry about that." I look away. He's still holding my wrist so I can't do anything else. "Can you let go, please?" I ask and he looks at his hand locked around my forearm.
"Promise you won't run off again?" He's kind, I'll give him that, but I can't quite trust him. Not yet.
"Ok, yeah, I promise." He let's go and I bring my hand to my chest. He hadn't hurt me it's just a natural reaction.
"I didn't get your name." He mentions and I look at him again. A few seconds of silence pass before I decide whether or not I should tell him. I purse my lips and contemplate running. I don't know this guy and my dad always told me to never talk to strangers. I figure it's now or never, and if I'm going to make a break for it, then this would be the opportunity to do so.
I turn and dash towards the alley exit. I'm most of the way there when he grabs me from behind and pulls me into the air. I'm struggling to get away and he tells me to stop squirming so much. I don't listen and I continue to fight until I'm falling through the air.
He either dropped me on purpose, or he lost his grip, but either way, I was plummeting towards the concrete jungle beneath me. I thought I was going to kersplat pavement for the second time that day, when he caught me in is arms. I felt silly being held like a bride, but his grip was strong this time, and I wasn't going anywhere.
He landed on the roof with the planet on top, which I could now clearly see said: The Daily Planet. He was hesitant to set me down, but figured I couldn't run from here, and sat me down anyway.
"You said you wouldn't run." Clark scolded lightly. Hurt was in his eyes and I felt bad for doing it.
"Sorry." I say. "My dad is the Sheriff of Beacon Hills, my home, and always taught me to not talk to strangers."
"Your dad sounds smart." He responds. "But I don't think someone who saved your life this morning would be out to hurt you."
I think about how that is perfectly logical. "Your point is noted." I look around and walk to the edge of the building.
"You're not going to jump are you?" He asks and I tell him no.
"I don't know how I got here. One moment, I'm helping my best friend fight some time manipulating bad guy. The next thing I know I'm in a city and there's a giant being birthed from exploding pipes." I explain as I look out over the city. "Then some guy in red and blue tights saves me from eating concrete and now I'm here...being held hostage on a rooftop."
Clark gives me a look that says overdramatic, "You're not being held hostage." He dead pans and approaches until he's standing next to me looking out over the city. "Tell me more about this time manipulating bad guy." He says gently and I don't feel the need to hesitate.
"He came to Beacon Hills a few weeks ago. He used his time cube to break into places he wanted to go. The school, a gas station, the movie store, and the Sheriff Station. We're not really sure what he wanted, he never really spoke unless it was gibberish. I had a theory he was using time to also manipulate his voice but I ended up here before I could prove it to be true." I explain and he listened. I was surprised.
"So, how can I help you get back home?" He asks sincerely and I look at him.
"I don't know." I tell him in truth. "I don't think that this world is mine or even this universe." I say and look away again. "The cube disappeared the moment I touched it. " I tell him and Clark perks up more.
"You called me Derek before." He reminds me and I feel ashamed for passing out still. "So, if I have an identical look alike in your universe couldn't there be another cube here?"
"That's actually not a bad idea." I agree and hesitate for a second. "It's Stiles by the way. My name...it's Stiles."
