Many hours after Mirajane Strauss had delivered the letter to the Guild Master, all Fairy Tail guild members, except Natsu and Happy, have arrived at the guild hall, including one Erza Scarlet who is currently searching for Natsu Phenex.

Sadly for her, she could not find any sign of him, so she turns to the Guild Master looking for answers.

"Master, do you know where Natsu is? I could not find him or Happy anywhere in the guild hall and I doubt that both of them are still at home at this hour." asks Erza, making the others also look at Makarov for answers.

Makarov gives out a resigned sigh and knows it is time he should tell them about the contents of the letter.

"Natsu and Happy went on a training trip either this morning or yesterday night, as he interpreted my suggestion of going on a three month training trip as going at the earliest moment possible in order to make the most of his time, while in actuality there is still more than three months until the Grand Magic Games start, so he could have also left sometime next week."

Erza at that point was furious for leaving her behind without telling her, as she has questions she wishes answers for "When they come back to the guild, they will both get punished!"

As Natsu and Happy are on the train talking, and are about to arrive at their next stop in a couple of hours, both of them get shivers run down their spines, thinking they are in some kind of trouble once they return to the guild after their training trip ends.

Happy then decides to continue his previous talk with Natsu.

"So you are telling me that unlike your brother Riser who got engaged to this Rias Gremory, your parents did not set you up with any girl in the Underworld? I find it hard to believe based on what you told me about the devil society in general."

"Yes." replies Natsu, while thinking about the weird reason he did not get engaged "Every time they suggested it with someone, one of the Four Great Satans, Serafall Leviathan strongly opposed it, often giving different and usually weird reasons for it, so my parents soon gave up."

"Do you think she has feelings for you?" asks Happy, finding it somewhat hilarious, while also being relieved for not getting a new mother figure without him knowing about it.

"I am certain she does." replies Natsu, being completely convinced of it "I do not have any other explanation for it."

"What do you think of her?" asks Happy.

"Honestly, I don't know." reveals Natsu "I have had not that much contact with her other than some high-class parties hosted by my parents or her attending my birthdays. While I think she is beautiful, I am terrified of her."

"Do you think that your parents secretly set you up with this scary woman?" wonders Happy.

"I don't think so." responds Natsu after thinking it through "If they did, I would know by now, as my parents made a promise to me to tell me if I ever got engaged. Also they could not hide it from the public, as a marriage contract with a Satan would soon become public knowledge in the Underworld."

Happy then decides to change the subject of the conversation, as they are waiting for the train to arrive to their next stop, knowing they will need to take another train once they arrive at the station, as the location they chose for their training trip is far away from Magnolia. During their ride, they talk about subjects such as Natsu's unused Evil Pieces and his previous experience with women in the Underworld.

When they arrive at their station, they soon take another train, which is now their third and final train that will bring them closer to their chosen training destination. The trip overall would take them almost a day due to the distance they have had to travel. When they finally arrive at their destination, the sun is about to set and Natsu has decided to find them a place to sleep due to Happy being tired, despite the fact that as a devil he is able to see clearly in the dark.

Natsu and Happy spent three months training in a remote location out in the mountains, far away from any civilization, considered to be one of the toughest regions in Fiore, in a location inhabited by dangerous beasts, with the majority of them being considered to be around S-Class in rank.

Although Natsu's training results were not that impressive, considering he was already strong at the time he started training, he did manage to improve his strength by around 40% over a 3 month training period, with the main focus of his training being not on increasing his power but on improving the control of his magic and creating new spells, which were not limited to his fire dragon slayer magic.

When they were on the train back to Magnolia, they ran into two members of the Crime Sorcière Guild: Meredy and Ultear Milkovich, making both Natsu and Happy stand up from their seats in alert.

"Ultear Milkwitch." said Natsu, having forgotten her full name and being on the defense due to her being a dark mage that he had previously met on Tenrou Island.

His words get Meredy to laugh out loud and Ultear to become furious.

"It's Ultear Milkovich." shouts Ultear.

"Right. Ultear Milkovich." corrects Natsu, sounding sorry, while then asking her "What do you want with us."

"No need to be on the defensive, Natsu. We do not want to do anything bad to you." replies Ultear "I am no longer a member of Grimoire Heart, thus no longer your enemy. We were on our way back from a mission, and coincidentally ran into you. Are you also returning from a mission."

"No." says Natsu, seeing no reason to lie to her "Both of us are returning from a training trip due to our Guild participating in the Grand Magic Games this year."

"I see." replies Ultear "If you like I can help you get stronger."

"How would you do that?" asks Natsu "There is not much time until the Grand Magic Games start, so your training would be useless at this point."

"I can open your second origin using my time magic." reveals Ultear "However opening it forcefully will be quite painful. But it will give you access to a second magic container."

Before Natsu could decline, Happy interrupts him. "I think you should agree to it Natsu."

While Natsu is shocked, Happy decides to continue "I have heard about their Guild from the members who stayed behind when they were talking with Erza, and think she does not wish you any harm and is trying to actually help you. I say a little pain is not that bad if it will help you become stronger."

Natsu decides to trust Happy and replies "Alright, Ultear. You may open my second origin."

Ultear then uses her time magic on Natsu in order to open his second origin, making him scream out in pain for a few seconds due to intense pain.

"It is done." says Ultear "You should be able to feel your second origin now, and be able to easily open it at will."

"You are right." replies Natsu, feeling the change in him "I did not expect it would work, considering I am no longer a human."

"Is that why your appearance has changed and you no longer have your pink hair?" asks Meredy.

"Forget I said anything to you." says Natsu, regretting his previous slip up in front of them.

Despite both of the female mages being curious about it now, they comply and reply "Alright."

They then leave, while Natsu and Happy sit down on their seats, waiting to arrive to Magnolia.
