CHAPTER 14: TELLING KENSI'S MOM...
HETTY'S OFFICE...
Kensi and Deeks sat down across from Hetty.
"Okay, this is the second time in a week." Deeks muttered.
"Ms. Blye, you will be on desk duty..." Hetty began. "Hetty, no, I have Deeks to watch my back and he would never let anything happen to me or this baby." Kensi argued.
"Be that as it might be. Placing you on desk duty is for the safety of you and your child. Mr. Deeks will be assigned a temopary partner." Hetty told her leaving no room for arguements.
"Don't worry, Kens...you're still the world's best partner. Callen and Sam know not to let anything happen to me. Or they will have an angry and pregnant Kensi to deal with." Deeks told Kensi with a smile and Kensi smiled back.
THE BULLPEN...
THE END OF THE DAY...
Deeks started to gather his things and looked at Kensi to see she was doing th same. It was then a thought came to him...
"When do you want to tell your mom, Kens?" Deeks asked. "I talked to her last night and she wanted to know if I wanted to come over tonight for dinner. So I'll just call her and tell her I'm bringing someone with me."Kensi told him.
"Someone? That's all I am to you?" Deeks asked and Kensi laughed. "We can surprise her. Night!" Kensi called to Callen and Sam. "Bye." Deeks called as him and Kensi left.
IN THE PARKING LOT...
KENSI AND DEEKS...
"Hey, mom...I'm still coming and I'm bringing someone with me..." Kensi said into her phone.
"You're bringing somone with you, Kens? Why not tell her who you are bringing?" Deeks whispered and Kensi slugged him in the shoulder.
"No, nothing is wrong...I just have a few things to tell you...I'll see you soon, okay...bye mom." Kensi said hanging up the phone and glaring at Deeks.
"What?" Deeks asked trying to sound innocent. "The reason I didn't tell her is I want it to be a surprise and you almost spoiled it." Kensi informed him.
1900 HOURS (7 PM)...
JULIA FELDMAN'S HOUSE...
"Ready, Kens?" Deeks asked as they approached the door and Kensi knocked. "Yeah, she's been wanting me to bring you by for a while. Now..." Kensi began, but stopped when the door opened and revealed Julia.
"Kensi, you didn't tell me you were bringing, Marty. Come in." Julia said her face lighting up.
"Mom, Deeks and I decided on April 6th..." Kensi began.
"Was that a coincidence, Kens? Because that's the same day we started working together as partner's at work." Deeks teased. "Deeks and I have been dating since April 6th. A week after we talked about it." Kensi told her mom.
"That's not all..." Deeks said, before Julia could say anything. "Mom, I'm pregnant." Kensi announced and Julia seemed frozen in shock.
"Preg-pregnant? You and Marty are going to have a baby?" Julia finally asked. "Yeah, mom, I'm pregnant." Kensi confirmed.
"So M..." Deeks began. "Call me, Julia." Julia told Deeks as they headed further into the house.
"Okay, so you have any really good stories about the famous, Kensi Marie Blye?" Deeks asked and Kensi elbowed him. "Don't forget I'm going to find ways to torture you while I'm pregnant." Kensi whispered to him.
"I know...I just want to know what you were like as a kid." Deeks told her with a grin.
THE DINNING ROOM...
"You two go ahead and sit down. I'll get the food." Julia told them. "I'll help." Deeks offered. "That's all right, I've got it." Julia insisted.
"Just sit down, Deeks." Kensi said as she followed her mother into the kitchen and not knowing what else to do...Deeks sat down.
THE KITCHEN...
"So you and Marty are finally together now, huh? What made you two finally decide to take a chance?" Julia asked her daughter.
Kensi smiled and tried not to blush at the memory of waking up on the morning of April 6th.
"I'm not really sure, mom. Since we met three years ago...there was something there, but something changed in the last year. I don't know what it was." Kensi said honestly.
"I was wondering when you two would stop fighting your feelings for each other." Julia said with a knowing smile.
"Mom! What are you talking about?" Kensi asked.
"I talked to him a little bit when he dropped me off at home after your father's case was solved. I could tell he saw you as more then a friend even then." Julia said and Kensi stared at Julia.
"How? Kensi asked. "Because there was a look in his eyes when he talk about you. Then you came to my door later that night and we talked, we not only started to catch up on the last fifteen years..." Julia began.
"Mom, I'm still sorry." Kensi apologized.
"There's nothing to be sorry for, Kensi. I lied to you and you were daddy's girl. I should have told you the truth then, but the night we started to catch up...you told me about your partner, Marty Deeks and no matter what you said your face would light up when you talked about him. Now we better get this food to the dinning room." Julia said picking up the casserole.
"Yeah, before Deeks comes to see if we left him any at all." Kensi replied and followed her mother back to the dinning room.
