CHAPTER 18: AN IMPORTANT TALK...
The door to Kensi's bedroom opened and for a moment, they just looked at each other.
"Uh...you said you wanted to talk to me about something. What was it, Kens?" Deeks asked.
Kensi opened the door and let him into her bedroom. Then walked back over to the bed and began to clean off the bed. She put the unopened twinkies, the ice cream, the bowl and the spoon on her bedside table.
Then finally sat down on the bed and looked at Deeks.
"You suggested something when we found out I was pregnant, Deeks..." Kensi began.
Deeks thought back to that day and what he had suggested. At the time, Kensi had told him she was not ready for them to move in together, so he wondered now what had changed her mind.
"I suggested we move in together and I remember you pretty much said you were not ready for that change. So what changed your mind?" Deeks asked sitting down beside her.
"The nightmare keep waking me up and I feel like I'm not getting any sleep at all." Kensi confessed. "So you want me sleeping beside you? Why didn't you say so sooner?" Deeks tried to joke. "Be serious, Deeks." Kensi growled punching him in the shoulder.
"Okay, okay. So do you think that if we move in together the nightmares will stop?" Deeks asked and Kensi shrugged. "I don't know, but it might help. Does the offer to move in together still stand?" Kensi asked and sounded unsure.
"Always, Princess. Why don't we try to get some sleep for now? And we can start looking after work, I'm just glad it's Friday. " Deeks told her with a smile and then glancing at the clock let out a yawn.
It was now after three in the morning, Deeks had been at her apartment fot the past hour and a half.
So after putting the ice cream in the freezer, Kensi laid down as Deeks laid down beside her. Deeks pulled the blankets over them, before wrapping an arm around her.
"I'm glad it's Friday to." Kensi muttered as her eyes began to drift shut. "I love you, Kensi." Deeks whispered in her ear. "I love you too, Deeks." Kensi whispered back.
0500 (5 AM)...
Deeks eyes popped open, when he felt a sharp kick to his leg.
When they had laid down two hours ago, her back had been pressed against his front, now there was a few inches between them and Kensi had kicked the blankets off.
"No...can't be dea...promised me..." Kensi muttered in her sleep kicking him again.
"Kensi...Kensi, wake up..."
Deeks said as he scooted closer to her and Kensi shot up, looking around.
"...Another nightmare?" Deeks asked and Kensi nodded looking at him tears in her eyes.
"Yeah, you were on your way home. I guess Iwas already home, you were killed in a car accident. Every nightmare I have is either of you leaving us or you dying." Kensi told him as she fought back tears.
"Hey, you don't have to worry about me leaving you, because that's not gonna happen." Deeks assured her. "I know. I just hate these nightmares. I thought they would not be as bad if we decided to move in together. Because I could see you and know you were okay." Kensi replied laying her head on his shoulder and he put an arm around her.
"We haven't actually moved in together yet, it might take a little time afer we move in together." Deeks told her.
"This is going to be a long day..." Kensi replied with a sigh. "Do you want to try to go back to sleep for a little bit?" Deeks asked, but Kensi shook her head.
"No, let's get dressed and take Monty for a walk." Kensi suggested. "Sounds good, we can go to the beach." Deeks replied getting up with a smile.
Once they got up, Kensi peeled off her nightclothes and Deeks stopped what he was doing to just stared at her.
"What are you staring at, Deeks?" Kensi grumbled. "How smoking hot my girlfriend is." Deeks shot back with a smile and she looked at him. "Deeks, I'm getting fat. There is no way you can..." Kensi began.
"If you think there is no way I can find you hot or sexy...you're wrong. Because I'm staring at a naked and very beautiful woman that I love." Deeks said as he wrappped his arms around her.
"You really think I don't look fat?" Kensi asked and Deeks just kissed her. "No, you don't look fat. I think we better get dressed and take Monty for that walk. Maybe when we get back we can have a little time in the shower together for work." Deeks said suggestively wiggling his eyebrows.
"Pig." Kensi todl her and Deeks grinned even more. "Would you still love me?" Deeks asked.
"I guess." Kensi told him with a smile of her own. "Admit it...you really, really love me." Deeks joked and Kensi laughed.
"Maybe..." Kensi teased. "If you didn't love me...would we be where we are now?" Deeks quipped still grinning.
"I don't know, would we?" Kensi countered.
"There you go again answering a question with a question. I'm glad we decided to give our 'thing' a try. I wish we could find a way to tell Ray how thing worked out between you and me." Deeks replied.
"I'm sure we can talk to Hetty and she can help us, even if we're not supposed to, since he is in witness protection." Kensi replied.
