CHAPTER 23: DEEKS APOLOGY AND PUSHIMENT...
JUST OUTSIDE KENSI'S BEDROOM...
Marty walked down the hall and saw Monty sitting outside Kensi's bedroom door, scratching the door and whining.
"Hey, Monty, you worried about Kensi? It's kind of my fault that she's upset. I screwed up again..."
Deeks said scratching Monty behind the ears and then knocked on the door to Kensi's room.
"...Kensi! May I come in?..."
Deeks asked, but recieved no answer.
"...Kensi? I'm coming in okay, sugar bear? Don't shoot, okay? I-I just want to talk..."
Deeks eased the door open and stuck his head in the room, hoping she would not point a gun at him.
Deeks saw Kensi crying with her face in the pillow, Monty whined again looking at Kensi and then Deeks.
"...Kensi?" Deeks asked and she tried to glare at him with tears in her eyes. "Wh-what?" Kensi hiccupped.
"You might want to calm down or you will hypervenilate." Deeks suggested as he stepped into the bedroom.
INSIDE KENSI'S BEDROOM...
"And whose fa-fault would that be?" Kensi asked. "Kens, I'm sorry. I didn't think about what I was saying before I opened my mouth and inserted my foot. I guess I haven't learned not to piss you off yet." Deeks said with a small smile as he sat down on the bed next to her.
"You irritate me for fun, Deeks. Why would you stop just because we're in a relationship?" Kensi asked. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, back up. Did you say relationship?" Deeks joked taking her hand in his. "Maybe or maybe I said partnership." Kensi shot back with a smile.
"Nope...pretty sure it was relationship. I love you, Kensi and I love this baby. I promise I will be there in the delivery room when you give birth to our child...as long as you don't try to casterate me." Deeks told her.
"You're the one who keeps bringing up me casterating you. Why are you so worried about that?" Kensi asked.
"Because let's face it you kick men in the junk because of a suspicion they are foriegn operatives." Deeks shot back. "Oh my God, Deeks that was one time and I was right about thoes two being foriegn operatives." Kensi said rolling her eyes.
"Yeah, but if you kick a guy in the junk on a hunch...what would you do to me for causing you so much pain when you give birth? No matter what happens I just want you to know how much I love you, okay?" Deeks asked sitting down beside her.
"Do you think I'm going to forgive you that easily? You will be spending a few nights on the couch and that's only the begining of your pushiment." Kensi told him. "Yeah, we'll see how long that last." Deeks replied.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Kensi inquired.
"Because everyone knows you can't resist me and you'll want me beside you to keep the nightmares away. Ouch..."
Deeks yelped as Kensi punched him in the shoulder.
"...Okay, that was un called for." Deeks told her.
"Then you shouldn't have tried to say that, huh? I can sleep without you. I did it before we got together." Kensi replied with a smile. "Yeah, but you were constantly dreaming about what it would be like to be with me." Deeks teased.
"I'm kind of hungry. Why don't you go make dinner and I'll take a nice relaxing bath by myself." Kensi replied with a smug look.
"You're mean...I can't join you in the bath tub?" Deeks inquired suggestivley. "Nope, go start dinner and just let me know when it's ready." Kensi said getting up and heading over to her dresser to get some clothes.
"You were kidding about me sleeping on the couch, right?" Deeks asked as she reached the doorway and turned back to look at hiim. "Nope, for the next few days you're sleeping on the couch." Kensi informed him again, and then headed for the bathroom and a moment later the bathroom door closed.
"Ugggg, when will I ever learn?" Deeks muttered and then headed for the kitchen to make dinner.
For dinner, he planned to make a ham with pineapple and honey. Then he got the idea for a candle lit dinner.
AN HOUR LATER...
Deeks had everything setting on the table, lit the candles, and then headed for the bathroom.
JUST OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM DOOR...
"Kens, dinner's ready." He said and was about to knock when the door opened. "What's for dinner?" Kensi asked as she tried to slip past him, but he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into a hug.
"Food..."
He whispered and she elbowed him.
"...Ow, really? Do you like abusing me? You know what don't answer that, because I already know the answer. "Deeks said as he pulled back, rubbing a hand where she had just elbowed him.
"I know we're having food, but what kind?" Kensi asked. "Human food." Deeks joked as he took her hand and led her to the kitchen.
THE KITCHEN...
"Really, you think a candle lit dinner is going to get you out of trouble?" Kensi questioned.
"Hey, I had to try and since we're not going out on a date tonight...I thought I make a date here at home." Deeks said with a shrug as they sat down to eat.
ONE HOUR LATER...
2000 HOURS (8 PM)...
After dinner Deeks cleaned everything up and put the leftovers in the refrigerator.
Then went to take a cold shower, because Kensi was running around the apartment in one of his LAPD t -shirts.
After his shower he found her curled up on the couch watching America's Next Top Model.
Now looking over he realized Kensi had fallen asleep. Getting up, Deeks knelt beside her.
"Kens..."
Deeks said softly brushing the hair out of her face. "What?" Kensi muttered. "Why don't you go to bed if you're so tired?" Deeks suggested. "N-not tired." Kensi argued with a yawn.
"Come on, I can carry you to bed." Deeks told her. "N-no, Deeks I'll walk." Kensi said, but didn't move. "Come on, Sugar Bear." Deeks said and taking her hand, he helped her and Kensi leaned against him as they walked down the hall to her bedroom.
"You're still sleeping on the couch." Kensi told him. "I know I'm just going to get a pillow, okay?" Deeks asked as they reached the bedroom.
KENSI'S BEDROOM...
"Fine..." Kensi said as she lay down. "Really? The word fine?"Deeks asked with a chuckle, but Kensi's only response was a snort-snore.
Therefore, he grabbed his pillow and headed for the couch.
THE LIVING ROOM...
A FEW MINUTES LATER...
With a sigh Deeks threw his pillow on the couch, laid down and then pulled the blanket off the back of the couch.
It seemed a long time, before Deeks felt exhaustion taking him over and his eyes closing.
