CHAPTER 30: MARTY'S SURPRISE...

DEEKS...

After dropping Kensi off at her mother's house, Deeks had gone back to Kensi's apartment and taken care of Monty.

That had been an hour ago now...

Since then Deeks had been to two jewlery stores, but still had yet to find the right ring...one that told him it was the right one for Kensi.

Everything that was happening between him and Kensi...just seemed to be happening so fast.

They had decided on April 6th...to start a relationship and a family together.

From the day they met there had just been some sort of spark between them...right off they had started teasing, flirting and bantering with each other.

Then something had changed between them after they had gone undercover as Max and Monica, and with the Sidorov case. They had argued and she had accused him of poor communication skills.

As she got ready to leave he up and followed her, then he had done something he wanted to do since he first met her...Marty Deeks had kissed her and put everything he felt into the kiss. Showing her how much she meant to him.

The thought of now asking Kensi Marie Blye to marry him terrified him, but also made him happy.

Remembering what Sam had said after Deeks had told him and Callen about his plans, made Deeks wonder if now was the right time to ask Kensi to marry hiim or if he should wait.

FLASHBACK *

"Marriage is a big step, Deeks." Sam warned.

*END FLASHBACK

'What if Kensi said no? What if he asked and she broke up with him out of fear? What would happen then?'

Finally Deeks arrived at the third jewlery story. He turned off the car and headed inside.

INSIDE THE JEWLERY STORE...

Deeks smiled as a memory came to him...

The team had been working on a case, Deeks and Kensi had been sent undercover as a couple looking for an engagement ring.

Deeks came out of his thoughts as he spotted it...a ring that would fit Kensi perfectly. Deeks then knew he had finally found the ring he had been looking for.

"Is there something I can help you with, sir?" A clerk behind the counter asked. "Uh, yeah, can I see that ring please." Deeks said pointing at the ring.

The clerk pulled the ring out and handed it to Deeks. After taking a closer look, Deeks pulled out his wallet and handed the clerk his credit car to pay for it.

After leaving the jewlery story, Deeks made one more stop before heading back to Kensi's apartment.

KENSI'S APARTMENT...
TWO HOURS LATER...

After getting back to Kensi's house, Deeks cleaned as he said he would and then headed to the bedroom with the hersey kisses he had picked up from the grocery store on the way back. He arraged the kisses into words...

KENSI MARIE BLYE, WILL YOU MARRY ME

On the bed, setting the ring in the middle.

After Deeks was done he decided he had enough time to take a shower before Kensi got home. So he grabbed a t-shirt and a clean pair of boxers heading to the bathroom.

KENSI...

Kensi reached the front door and when she opened it, she was greeted by Monty. She smiled as heard the shower running. Kicking off her shoes, locking the front door and setting her stuff down...Kensi headed for the bathroom.

THE BATHROOM...

Kensi opened the door as quietly as she could, stripped and slipped into the shower behind Deeks.

"Hey, wh..."

Deeks spun around almost falling and saw that it was just Kensi.

"...You scared me, Angelfish." Deeks told her with a fake glare. "That's what I was trying to do." Kensi told him with a smile.

"You, uh, you haven't been to the bedroom have you?" Deeks asked worried she had seen his surprise. "No, why?" Kensi asked with curosity. "I'll shower you after we finish our shower." Deeks told her with a smile, before giving her a peck on the lips. Then movig so she could get her hair and body wet.

He picked up the shampoo and wash Kensi's hair, Kensi moaned and leaned back a little as Deeks fingers massaged her scalp.

After Deeks washed her hair and back, he turned her around to face him and kissed her lightly on the lips.

"De-Deeks I need you." Kensi moaned into the kiss. "Really, begging me?" Deeks teased.

"No." Kensi denied.

"I think I heard a begging tone in your voice..."

Deeks teased and this time she punched him in the shoulder.

"Okay, how about we dry off and I will show you the surpise I set up." Deeks suggested and Kensi grinned at him.

"You're only saying that because the water is getting cold." Kesnsi told him. "Maybe, but I don't want us to get sick." Deeks said reaching around her to turn off the water and stepping out of the shower, he wrapped a towel around his waist.

Then held out a hand to help Kensi out of the tub.

"So what is this surprise?" Kensi asked after they had dried off. "It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you. Close your eyes." Deeks requested as he opened the bathroom door. "Why?" Kensi asked suspiciously. "Because it will make the surprise better." Deeks replied with a grin and Kensi just looked at him for a moment trying to figure out what he was up to, before reluctantly closing her eyes.

Deeks took her hand and led her to the bedroom.

KENSI'S BEDROOM...

It didn't take long before Deeks came to a stop, pulling Kensi to a stop beside him and then letting go of her hand. Deeks retrieved the ring from the bed...then knelt in front of her.

"Open your eyes, Kens." Deeks told her and Kensi opened her eyes, gasping as she read the words Deeks had spelled out in hersey kisses.

"This...this is the surprise?" Kensi asked, looking away from the words on the bed ro Deeks' eyes.

"Yes, I love you and I can't imagine spending the rest of my life without you. I knew from the moment we met there was someting unique about you and I also knew from day one tha I wanted to marry you. Since the beginning everyone has seen someting between you and me. You are getting ready to be the mother of my child and the only thing that will make me happier...is if you will be my wife. Kensi Marie Blye, will you marry me?" Deeks asked, remembering his doubts from earlier and Kensi's eyes welled up with tears.

As Kensi looked into Deeks' eyes she could see the secerity, but then felt the fear welling up inisde her.

She thought of how her ex Jackson Donovon had asked her to marry him and then left her on Christmas Day.

As Deeks looked into Kensi's eyes he could see the fight or flight reaction in Kensi's eyes. He was afraid she was going to reject him now.

"I-I'm scared, Deeks. You know what happened the last time I was engaged." Kensi confessed in a whisper.

"Kensi, I love you and I know what you've been through, but I won't leave you. We've been working together for five years now and I haven't left you yet, have I?" Deeks whispered standing up and wiping the tears from her face, before giving her a kiss to remind her how much he loved her.

Deeks pulled back and leaned his forhead against hers, once again looking into her eyes.

"No, but..." Kensi began.

"There is no way I'm leaving you and our child. I love you and we've been in a relationship for a few months now...or we could say a few 've been flirting, bantering and teasing each other from day one. I know that's been happening between us in the past few months is scaring you and it scares me to. I've already promised I will stay beside you no matter what. I love you." Deeks told her.

"I know, Deeks..." Kensi began. "We've been working on talking things out and I don't know about you, but us living together has helped with my nightmares. I mean they may not be completely gone, but waking up to my very hot girlfriend helps." Deeks told her.

"I don't wake up to a hot girlfriend...I wake up to a shaggy haired surfer." Kensi told him with a weak smile.

"Really, are you calling me a girl again..."

Deeks joked and Kensi laughed.

"...We can stay engaged as long as you want. I don't care, I just want everyone to kow how special you are to me." Deeks said.

"Okay." Kensi said looking into his eyes before kissing him.

"OKay, as in you'll marry me or..." Deeks began. "Okay, as in I will marry you, because I know you will keep pestering me." Kensi told him with a grin. "Hey..." Deeks began, but Kensi cut him off with a kiss and her hand drifting down into his boxers.

"How about we clear off the bed? Because I need you, Deeks." Kensi told him and Deeks slipped the ring on her finger, before they cleared off the bed...
