CHAPTER 39: BOY OR GIRL...
It had taken two days to for Kensi and Deeks to finish packing her apartment and had finally moved into the new house.
TWO WEEKS LATER...
THE EXAIM ROOM...
They had already told Hetty they would be running late this morning, because Kensi had a doctor's appointment.
It had been just a few minutes ago they had been brought back to the exaim room and had been told the doctor would be in soon.
"Would you like to find out the sex of the baby?" Dr. O'Rourke asked. "What do you think, Princess?" Deeks asked.
"I want to know." Kensi responded. "Of course you do." Deeks muttered and Kensi glared at him, before turning her attention to the monitor.
"All right, let's see." Dr. O'Rourke said after setting up the transducer across Kensi abdomen.
But it didn't matter what Dr. O'Rourke did...baby Ray just would not cooperate to let them find out.
"Looks like Ray wants us to be surprised." Deeks said with a smile. "Great another personality like yours." Kensi said. "What's wrong with my perosnality? I thought you loved it." Deeks responded.
After the ultrasound and not being able to find out the sex of baby Ray, as well as hearing the heartbeat at 152 beats per minute. They were ready to set up the next appointment.
"I wish we could have found out if Ray is a boy or a girl." Kensi said as they left the doctor's office.
"Well, I kind of like the idea of being surprised. I hope Ray is a girl that looks just like you..."
Deeks said as they reached the car and looked at Kensi in confusion when she started to laugh.
"...What's so funny?" Deeks asked and Kensi looked at him.
"Remember what happened afer we got home from telling my mom I was pregnant? I told you about the two dreams I had.
One where we were walking down the beach with Monty and a little girl about five or six years old." Kensi reminded him, before opening the door and getting in the car.
"So do you think that Ray is a girl then?" Deeks asked after getting into the car and Kensi shrugged.
"I don't care as long as Ray is healthy." Kensi said as Deeks started the car and they headed to work.
THE BULLPEN...
When Kensi and Deeks walked into the bullpen Sam and Callen looked up.
"Ray wouldn't cooperate, so we don't know if Ray is a boy or a girl." Deeks said sitting down at his desk, as Kensi took a seat at her own desk.
"I think Ray already has Deeks' personality." Kensi told everyone and Deeks looked at her. "I thought we talked about this already...don't you like my perosnality?" Deeks asked pretending to look hurt.
"What do you think G.? Boy or girl, I'm betting $100 on a boy." Sam said with a smile and Kensi looked up.
"You're going to make a bet on if Ray is a boy or a girl?" Kensi asked narrowing her eyes and Sam's smile faded a little.
"How about we go in on the bet, Princess? If we win it could be exta money to get stuff for Ray." Deeks pointed out and Kensi looked at him.
"Why not? I'm thinking a girl." Kensi said with a shrug and a smile at Deeks. "I'm with Kensi. I think it will be a girl with my personality of fun." Deeks said with a wink at Kensi.
"Are you two sure you didn't find out? I'm thinking a boy." Callen said.
"Okay, now let's go talk to the tie breakers." Deeks said heading up to OPs.
OPS CENTER...
"Did you find out?" Nell asked when Kensi, Deeks, Sam and Callen walked into the OPs center.
"No, baby Ray wouldn't cooperate. Sam has decided to start a $100 pool on weather baby Ray is a boy or a girl. So we wanted your votes." Deeks explained.
"A girl." Nell said with a smile and they looked at Eric. "A boy." Eric said once again tying the votes.
"Now who will break the tie?" Deeks asked with a groan.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I believe you are here to work or do I need to get my letter opener?" Hetty asked entering OPs.
"Uh, no, we're getting back to work. Just sharing the news with Nell and Eric." Deeks said as him, Kensi, Sam and Callen left OPs.
