25th of Tarsakh - Middle of the Night:
DREAM FROM MARAT
A young girl sits in a dark outhouse, moonlight glows on her braided white hair. Her face is tear stained and she's talking, but nobody else is there. The faint smell of brimstone burns my nose. I look trying to find the source of the smell… the dream blurs… The same girl, but several years older, ties purple ribbons into her braids. Her delighted smile makes her face almost look beautiful. Suddenly she turns. A boy close to her age is menacingly leading a group of children quickly towards her. As she slips into a building to hide, I see a pair of lurid glowing eyes… the dream blurs… A young woman with light brown hair gives the girl a tour of the church buildings; a hospital, a morgue, and then inside the temple itself. I follow them in and stop when I see a hanging banner with a crown on a black hexagon. Part of Velsharoon's symbol… the dream blurs… It's night. I'm wielding a glowing mace, fighting two skeletons. As I make the killing blow to one of the undead, I look up and see a pair of luridly glowing eyes in the window. A faint smell of brimstone burns my nose.
When I woke I could still see those luridly glowing eyes.
I shudder just thinking about them, and even though I'm awake I can still see them.
What could have been watching us? Surely not Velsharoon himself! Maybe one of his servants?
I'm certain the girl in the dream is Eldora. Who was she talking to locked in an outhouse at night? Could it be her Deva? I couldn't sense a celestial light within her when we met, could she even still have a Deva? What if something sinister is pretending to be her Deva? Is that what I smelled? I feel like I have more questions than answers from this dream.
As a child, Eldora was not loved, that's clear from my dream. I wish she could have had a loving childhood like me. I love and miss my family so much. Envon is the closest person to me. The only other would be Swift.
But Eldora was disliked, even hated, and lonely as a child. It's not surprising she would join the church of the first people to show her kindness. How could a child know the evil that lurked within.
It's also good to know that Swift will always protect me. I don't know where or when I'll get what I can only assume is a magical mace, but he'll be at my side in my fight against the undead.
