Following the incident in the forest with the three ninjas from a mysterious village. We carried on our journey to the Hidden Sands.
Two days have passed since we began our mission to deliver the scrolls entrusted to us by Lord First.
On the way, we notice sandhills in the distance. Our gaze was drawn to the desert. It was beginning to appear in full view of our site.
I and Ayumi are both in awe because we have never seen or been in a desert before.
"We must be getting close, right?" I exclaimed, "Finally, our mission will be finished," I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Sure, as long as we don't get ambushed in the desert," Tobirama says as he looks over his shoulder at me.
"Stay on guard until we arrive at the Kazekage's headquarters," he said solemnly.
"Obviously," I muttered to myself.
"You need to work on your attitude." Tobirama furrowed his brow, his terrifying eyes fixed on me.
I felt a cold shiver run down my spine once more. Why do I always get into fights with him? We agree on this one minute, then disagree on the next. I'm starting to tense up my fist.
Then we come to a halt as we reach the top of the Sand-hills and get a clear view of the village Hidden in the Sand.
"This is it, we finally made it," Masako exclaims triumphantly.
Our eyes were only focused on the breathtaking view ahead of us at the time. We couldn't move because we were in awe of what we were seeing.
When I turn around, I see that all of our gazes are fixed on the village down below, with awe flickering within them.
Tobirama's eyes, surprisingly, spoke with a different emotion. This was a transition from his usual deadpan expression. Or the eyes of a murderer.
At the sight, a smile spreads across my face. Seeing him demonstrate that he has other emotions.
I hadn't realized I'd been staring for too long until his eyes met mine. I quickly averted my gaze. Taking another look, seeing his expression reverted to his usual deadpan expression. But he persisted in his gaze
What is going on in his mind?
"We should hurry, along, so we can finally finish this." Ayumi raises her arms high in the air.
"Right"! We all respond in the same way.
After about fifteen minutes of walking from the Sand-hills. We have finally arrived at the village's entrance.
The entrance was enormous, with massive stairs made out of the desert sand on each side and a split opening in the middle.
The people at the Entrance stop us as we continue on our way. As we approached, they were all on guard.
"Stop right now, right where you are!" One of the five orders of guards. We all came to a complete stop right away.
I looked over my shoulder in silence to see that Tobirama was ready to pull out his kunai at any time.
Masako places her hand on Tobirama's arm, holding the kunai, and I sigh.
She then smiles and takes his hand holding onto the kunai in hers. Turning to face the men in front of us.
"Tobirama, it's alright look." "They are ninjas from this village," she reassures.
Tobirama let go of the kunai in his hand after noticing the sand ninjas' headbands. He then lowered his arm, and Masako let go of him.
Tobirama turned to face her and nodded, having realized who the men were.
"What business do you have here?" the previous man asks.
"We've come to bring these scrolls to your Lord Kazekage," Tobirama responds, his expressionless face displaying the scrolls to the men.
Following that, a second ninja approaches the guard who had spoken to us and leans in to whisper in his ears.
As the ninja whispers into the other's ear, their gazes flicker to us and then back to each other.
The first ninja's mouth only says "Hmm" as he nods. The second one then pulls away from him.
"Come on then," the first ninja motions for us to follow him through the entrance.
Taking note, we all began to follow the man through the entrance. following him through the door It was quite dark, but as we officially entered the village, we all came to full light.
"Amazing"! Ayumi's eyes sparkle as she expresses her complete delight. As she looks around at all the villagers, food stands, and merchandise.
"Can we take a break to look around?" she asks, her face beaming.
"No," Tobirama says flatly, looking over his shoulder. "We're not here for a class field trip; we're here on a mission."
"Aw, come on, you're such a buzz kill." She sighs, disappointed. Not only in her voice, but also in her entire body language.
"I agree with you on that." As we walk towards the Kazekage's headquarters, I mutter and cross my arms.
Tobirama has a deadpan expression on his face as he looks at me. He looked as if he was about to say something, but then he didn't.
We had finally arrived at the building where the Kazekage was stationed.
The ninja directing us came to a halt at the door leading inside. The structure appeared to be one-of-a-kind, resembling a large jar. If heated, it would make good pottery.
"I'm curious what the Kazekage will look like," Ayumi speaks to me in hushed tones. "Do you think he'll be appealing?" She jokingly nudges my arm.
My eyes widen as a result of her joke, but then they return to normal. Brutally nudging her back. "Stop fooling around," I say.
"Come on, Yuno, have some fun; what if he's your type?" She keeps whispering to me.
I then ignore her remarks and move up behind the guide who is leading us to the Kazekage.
The ninja abruptly stops in front of an office door, causing me to collide with him. As a result, I fell on top of him. When he collided with the floor, he hit his head, but luckily he was wearing a helmet. It did fall off and land on the floor.
Still, I was able to get a better look at his face because I was on him and his helmet was off. He was very attractive to look at. His amber eyes were enthralling.
"Pay attention," he scoffs. His voice was filled with rage. My face began to heat up as I realized I was still on him and how close we were.
Before I could get up, I felt my body thrown off balance. As I was flying back, I bumped into Tobirama, who had finally caught up with everyone.
Tobirama had grabbed me and placed his hand on my waist. My face flushed even more as I noticed it and looked at him. When he realized his hand was on my waist, he immediately let me go. I landed on the floor with a thud.
"I'm sorry," I say apologetically, rubbing my aching back.
"You should be," the ninja retorts, standing back up and clutching his helmet.
Meanwhile, Tobirama simply looked away, and Ayumi appeared to be about to erupt in rage.
"Perhaps you should be more cautious," she grumbled quietly enough for me to hear.
It's fine. Ayumi I say I'm trying to be optimistic. Despite the fact that I was equally upset. She then extends her hand and assists me in getting back up.
When I return my gaze to the sand ninja, I simply smile and speak to him.
"Hah..ha"... "I guess you're right." As I chuckle and a twitch appears on my face, I'm trying to keep my cool and keep my mouth shut.
So I don't erupt in rage like Ayumi was about to.
I didn't have to be thrown off of him.
He then knocks on the office door. Now he's ignoring me and the others. From within, we hear a voice commanding us to...
"Please come in."
