In A Whole New Web With You: A Madame Web Movie Fanfiction Story

Side Notes: This is my version of the Madame Web movie. If you haven't seen or read about this movie? You can. But, it isn't required to understand this story.

For reading about the movie? I recommend the main wiki.

For understanding this fanfiction's continuity? There are some more things to note.

The Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie trilogy is set in the same universe as this movie(which Sony Pictures was also involved with). Therefore, there is a very different Peter Parker cameo in the epilogue.

There are quite a number of references for Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and Marvel comics(including moderate spoilers for two movies). But, reading about either of them isn't required.

Prologue:

It's a sunny day in New York. The year is 2003. School buses are heading to schools with plenty of kids and teens. People in business suits are rushing to work offices in their cars.

And... A ambulance is speeding past it all with sirens going.

A woman with a paramedic uniform is driving the ambulance. She had long black hair done up in a ponytail. Her name is Cassie Webb.

One of the cars is kind of slowly moving out of the way of the ambulance.

Cassie somewhat frustratedly calls out, "Come on! Move! !"

Over a emergency radio... She reports, "this is squad 210 with a 42 year old woman. Code 3!"

She drives the ambulance fast past a Blockbuster store.

From the back of the ambulance... A man reports, "Guys, I've lost the pulse! I'm starting compressions now."

He is standing by a patient on a medical bed. He has kind of messy medium black hair, a black beard, and a matching mustache. He has a paramedic uniform on.

Cassie checks, "Ben. Are you sure you know what you're doing?"

Ben comments, "oh, you wanna come take over? I can drive."

On a radio station across plenty of car radios? The song What's Good For Me by Lucy W. is playing.

Cassie tries to assure, "thanks. But, I got this. Seriously though: How are you doing back there?"

She slightly turns to face Ben.

Ben all too lightly recalls, "well... Last time the ambulance drifted like this? I was getting shot at."

Cassie smirks a little. She just as fast turns her attention back to driving.

Cassie says, "I didn't want you to be home late that day. Is that a crime?"

Ben figures, "no. Laugh. You know... I never thought I'd be this happy to be back in Queens County."

Cassie wonders, "wait. You've been shot at around Queens?"

Ben implies, "it involves Deadpool, the army, a jack-in-the-box toy, and my ex-girlfriend. Long story."

With a wide smirk... Cassie figures, "yeah. Laugh. I'll bet it is a hell of a story. You should tell me sometime."

With a smirk... Ben adds, "I will."

Soon... Cassie gets the ambulance to a hospital.

Not long after, in the hospital...

Cassie and Ben are standing around by the front desk.

Cassie is nervously pacing. She makes a nervous face.

Cassie awkwardly voices, "I'm so bad with talking to strangers. God! If I stay out here waiting longer for the patient's diagnosis? I'm gonna get roped into talking to her family."

Ben tries to assure, "you're not going to fall on your face, Cassie. You got me and the rest of your friends around until you grow old. I got you covered."

With a smirk... Cassie reasons, "thanks. But... I'm going to go pretend to go to the bathroom in case."

She starts to head to the ladies room. It's across the way from the front desk.

Amused sounding... Ben is in the midst of saying, "you can only do that so many times before the hospital staff...catches on."

They suddenly both see a nurse standing there. Cassie awkwardly laughs.

The nurse questions, "what's so funny?"

Ben and Cassie insist, "nothing." Cassie lies, "just glad you caught me I guess."

The nurse brings up, "ok...ay. Well... I'm glad to tell you both Mrs. Cornwall is gonna be okay."

Cassie adds, "that's good."

The nurse continues, "and... Her son wanted to say thank you."

Ben and Cassie realize, "ohh."

A little boy, a teenage girl, and a man in a white business suit is standing there now. The little boy is offering a drawing toward Cassie.

Cassie whispers to Ben, "what should I say?"

Ben interestingly points a finger toward his own hand.

With a slight smile... Cassie somewhat awkwardly concludes, "well... I'm touched. But... Mr. Ben Roberts here did all the work. So…"

With a smile... Ben is quick to say, "you should still take it. Thanks, buddy."

Cassie takes the drawing. The little boy smiles some.

Ben and Cassie start to walk away.

Ben kind of lightly figures, "okay. That wasn't as terrible as you thought it'd be."

Cassie puts the drawing in her pocket.

The nurse hands Ben some paperwork on a clipboard. He thanks her.

Cassie adds, "I still felt like a idiot. But, thanks for covering for me." Ben adds, "no problem."

And... They head for a office area not far from the hospital.

The nurse turns back to the little boy and his family.

The nurse brings up, "I'm sorry for the slight delay. Paperwork. Mrs. Cornwall will be ready to accept visitors soon. Are you all immediate family?"

With a slight smile... The teenage girl very much implies, "I'm her stepdaughter."

She has medium strawberry blonde hair. She wears glasses, a white T-shirt with black dots, and blue overalls. Her name is Julia.

Her dad mutters back, "what have I said about calling her your stepmom?!"

Julia is a little teary eyed.

She annoyedly goes, "whatever, Dad. I'll see you guys back at your apartment."

She rolls her eyes annoyedly. She starts storming out of the hospital.

Her dad reasons, "fine. Come on, buddy. Let's go see mum."

He casually leads the little boy by the hand. The little boy smiles some.

Not long after, back with Cassie and Ben...

They've recently got Chinese takeout for lunch. Cassie isn't wearing her paramedic uniform now. She is wearing a very dark blue T-shirt and matching jeans.

With mixed feelings... Cassie reasons, "so much for me not being roped in one day. You know my mixed feelings on family stuff."

Ben kind of lightly highlights, "give it time. Mrs. Cornwall's family is likely going through mixed feelings around her accident. But, they'll sort them out for the better soon enough. You'll sort out your mixed feelings soon enough too."

Cassie figures, "Ben? On both counts? I hope so."

Ben smiles a little. Cassie smiles a little back.

They both start to eat out of the Chinese takeout containers with chopsticks.

Cassie casually deduces, "also... Thanks for offering to try to find me a date. But... I think I have plans anyway. So…"

Ben remarks, "plans? Since when do you have plans? You're, like, impossible to pin down."

Cassie supposes, "well, I like to keep my options open, you know? A date might restrict my options. I might sleep in. I might go to the museum. I might walk the dog."

Ben points out, "you don't have a dog."

Cassie considers, "I might adopt one. Pets would be a easy way to raise a family."

On the last part? Ben laughs.

Cassie is eating Chinese lo mien from a Chinese takeout container of hers.

Ben considers, "owning a dog is not as easy as pet sitting for someone else. Fair warning."

Cassie adds, "well, I'll consider that part."

Ben reasons, "thank you. Besides... I suspect you were a bit more of a handful than a puppy."

Cassie insists, "I don't know what you're talking about. I was a model foster kid. I had tantrums outside and not indoors."

Ben is eating Chinese lo mein from a Chinese takeout container of his.

After a bit... Ben implies, "so, I, um… I kind of met someone."

Cassie wonders, "oh, yeah? Ben answers, "yeah."

Cassie checks, "do you know her full name yet?"

Ben divulges, "her name is Amaria Bell. She's a IT technician. We've been going out for a week. But... She gave me a new custom computer as a surprise gift. High grade and not cheap."

Cassie looks stunned on the last part.

With a wide smile... She deduces, "wow. That does sound serious. You're a lucky man to have a lady like her."

With a smile... Ben adds, "thank you."

Ben opens a fortune cookie. He looks at the fortune inside.

Ben somewhat sarcastically reads, "oh. "You have a winning personality." I guess I got yours by mistake."

Cassie sarcastically goes, "you're an asshole."

Ben offers, "here. Let's see what your future holds for you."

He tosses Cassie a fortune cookie. She catches it in both hands with ease.

Cassie wonders, "what if I don't want to know?"

Ben figures, "well, it's just a cookie."

Cassie opens the fortune cookie in her hands. She looks at the fortune inside.

Cassie starts to read, "you will..."

After a bit... Ben wonders, "you will what?'

Cassie replies, "apparently that's all it says. You fill in the blank. What do you think it means?"

She waves the fortune around like a little flag.

Ben figures, "it means that their printer is broken."

Ben sarcastically adds, "we can't eat here anymore."

Cassie laughs hard at that. Ben smiles.

Cassie insists, "that's not going to happen."

Ben considers, "yeah. Chinese food, even once in a while, is hard to give up."

Cassie adds, "yeah."

Several hours later, in a city in New York...

Cassie is walking to a mostly gray blue apartment building. She is wearing a open red leather jacket.

Ben dropped her off in his car.

However... Cassie likes taking a long walk around the block before going to her apartment.

After a long walk... She goes into the apartment building.

She's heading up three flights of stairs to her apartment...when she can't help but overhear part of a conversation with the landowner.

A teenage girl tries to assure the landowner, "we'll have the money for you in three days. My dad just needs to pick up his paycheck."

She is standing in the doorway of a open door on the first floor. She has long black hair. She is wearing a mostly blue dress with seashells diagonally across it. Her name is Anya.

The landowner somewhat lightly figures, "why don't you let me come in and talk to your dad? I haven't seen him in a while. I'm worried something happened to him and you."

Anya concludes, "thank you for your concern. But... He's not home right now. Heavy sigh. Overtime work is a bitch."

The landowner nods.

He reasons, "okay. I can understand that. But, the rent has to be paid by Thursday because I got to make money too. No more excuses."

Anya somewhat nervously insists, "I swear! We'll have the money then!"

The landowner just says, "all right. If you say so."

He smiles a little. Anya smiles some.

The landowner walks away.

But... Anya has a nervous look on her face.

Around then...

Cassie heads into her apartment.

She leaves the keys on a nighttable by her mostly green bed. Several mirrors are up on the wall by the nighttable.

Cassie takes off her jacket. She throws it onto her very dark green couch.

She gets out a big milk carton and a red bowl. She puts it on a round wood table.

She pulls up one of her apartment windows. She pours some milk into the bowl.

And... A white and black cat walks across the table to the milk.

With a smile... Cassie says, "hey Frank. We strays need to stick together."

Cassie lightly pets Frank. Frank makes a trilling sound.

Frank starts drinking the milk.

Cassie just says, "you're welcome."

She puts the milk carton back in the refrigerator.

She takes out the drawing in her pocket. She unfolds it.

The drawing shows stick figures of a family: With the words sister, dad, mum, and me.

A storm cloud is over the sister. A sun is over the little boy.

Cassie thinks out loud, "why is there a storm cloud over her? Heavy sigh. Maybe I should've talked to Mrs. Cornwall's daughter. Maybe it's just a boy's imagination."

She goes over to a brown suitcase in front of her bed. She opens the suitcase.

Inside the suitcase... There are her drawings when she was little: Of South America, of spider monkey mutants swinging on vines, and of spiders with human women's heads.

Cassie places the drawing of Mrs. Cornwall's family into the suitcase.

Cassie picks up a journal of research notes from the suitcase.

She quickly flips through the pages. Some pages have pictures clipped on of jungle landscape in Peru. Some have sketches of spiders.

She gets teary eyed.

With very mixed feelings... Cassie thinks out loud, "mom... Heavy sigh. I'm not sure you ever cared for me. I was found as a baby at a airport in South America in a basket. A basket with your notes. And... They never mentioned me. Hard sniffle. Were the spiders worth it? Did the spider monkey mutants I dreamed of bring me to the airport to save me from being lost? I don't know that for sure either. Even... Even my foster parents didn't know. Hard sniffle. They just found me at the airport one day and brought me to America."

The next day...

The sun is shining over a bridge. A bridge with several crashed in cars.

Over emergency radio... Ben reports, "B-A... Three vehicles ground to a halt around one car. A car is overturned. There's heavy traffic around the bridge."

Over emergency radio... A hospital staff member replies, "copy that, squad 210. Sending backup to your location."

Several people are running out of the crashed in cars. They seem to be okay.

But... The overturned car is dangerously close to tipping over into the big river below.

A driver is trapped upside down by his seatbelt in this car. He has deep dark red cuts on his arms and one on his head.

Ben and Cassie are rushing toward the car with medical bags. They're both wearing paramedic uniforms.

Ben tries to assure, "we're gonna get you out of there, ok? Just don't move."

He uses a crowbar to smash a glass window on the car. He uses the crowbar to reach through the smashed in window to unlock the car door by the door latch.

Cassie carefully goes into the car. She lies down on her side to get a better look at the situation.

Cassie somewhat lightly says, "hi, sir! Can you tell me your name?"

The driver answers, "Adam."

He's groaning violently. He's clutching one of his arms.

Cassie plans out, "I'm Cassie. Me and my partner are going to help you out. Okay? You're going to be all right. I'm going to cut your seatbelt. And when I do? You're going to fall for a bit. But, me and my partner is going to help you out of here. Okay?"

Between violent groans... The driver just nervously says, "okay."

Ben adds, "on three."

Cassie nods. Ben kind of slowly moves a medical stretcher into the car.

Ben counts down, "three... Two... One."

Cassie uses a specialized surgical knife to cut the seatbelt loose.

And... Adam lands safely into the medical stretcher.

The driver violently groans. He violently coughs up some dark red liquid.

Cassie tells Adam, "all right, Adam. We're going to move on three. Okay?"

Adam just shakily nods. Cassie gets into a sitting upright position to prepare for the next step.

What she doesn't notice is the car starting to tip over from the weight of the medical stretcher.

Ben tells Adam, "you're going to be okay. Just hold on a little longer."

Cassie counts down, "one... Two... Three."

Cassie and Adam are kind of slowly carrying the medical stretcher out of the car.

Cassie is about to make her way out of the car while carrying the medical stretcher.

But... Suddenly... The whole car is sharply turning down like a seesaw.

One end of the medical stretcher lands hard on the pavement. Cassie is sent flying for the car windshield.

Ben cries out, "Cassie! !" Cassie cries out, "Ben! !"

Ben tries to grab her hand.

But... The whole car is already falling off the bridge.

A damaged front seat completely dislodges from the car from Cassie's momentum. It crashes through the car windshield.

Cassie closes her eyes. She holds her breath.

She swims out of the car through the smashed open windshield.

And... Her vision starts to go crazy.

A big splash. A big swirl of water. A bright light dancing around in firing webs.

She keeps swimming fast. She is hoping to reach the surface before she runs out of air.

She sees a blue balloon turning into a ball of fire. Brief flashes of dark red liquid splatter. A car crashing violently into another. Screams. A ghostly white face with lion's mane styled long black hair, a thick black beard, and a matching mustache.

At the same time... She hears distant echoes, "do you think you really know your mother? Your future? This place has always been a death trap. Cassie! ! ! I hope they arrest that grim reaper guy on his crazy ass! ! You can't save all of them! I can sure as hell still...! ! Cassie! ! !"

She kind of slowly starts to open her eyes. She starts to see Ben.

Ben mutters under his breath, "Come on Cassie. Breathe! !"

He's doing compressions on her chest to try to get her to breathe.

Cassie coughs up water. She starts breathing normally.

Ben realizes, "good. That's good. You're ok now."

Ben breathes a big sigh of relief.

They're now both sitting on some rocks by one of the bases of the bridge.

Cassie checks, "and Adam?"

Ben reports, "he'll be okay. Our backup arrived in time to take him to the hospital."

Cassie somewhat shakily nods.

Cassie checks, "are you sure I didn't die?"

Ben points out, "almost. You were down three minutes before I dived down and fished you out."

Cassie realizes, "three minutes?"

Ben remarks, "yeah. Welcome back to the land of the living."

Cassie chuckles a little. They both smile.

Cassie and Ben swim to a edge of the river. They climb over a metal fence.

Ben asked in advance for backup paramedics to drive his and Cassie's ambulance closer to their current location. It's parked on the side of a road.

Soon... Ben is taking Cassie's vitals with medical equipment.

Ben is sitting in the driver's seat of the ambulance. Cassie is sitting in the front seat opposite him. They both have green towels over their shoulders.

Ben reports her pulse rate, "79 over 55. You need a real work up at a hospital."

Cassie tries to assure, "I don't need a hospital. I trust you."

Ben deduces, "80 percent! That's great. Slightly above that of a…near dying fish."

Cassie laughs at that.

Ben checks the readout on her pulse rate.

With a wide smirk... Ben concludes, "all right. O2 is going up to 89. Jump back in the water any time."

Cassie lightly says, "thanks."

Suddenly... She sees flashes of blurry spider webs, a curtain of darkness, and a bright light.

She hears garbled voices: As though people are talking backwards.

And... She finds herself back in the ambulance with Ben.

Ben reports, "79 over 55. You need a real work up at a hospital."

Sounding a bit annoyed... Cassie insists, "seriously, Ben. Dial the jokes back a bit. I'm fine."

Ben concludes, "okay. Seriously... I need to get your oxygen levels."

Cassie can't help but ask, "again? What are you talking about? My O2 is 89."

Ben is starting to say, "no, it's…"

Ben checks the readout on her pulse rate.

With a wide smile... Ben realizes, "oh, you're right. How about that?"

Cassie chuckles a little.

Ben checks in concern, "are you okay? What the hell happened down there?!"

Cassie thinks out loud, "I'm not sure myself. But, I'm fine! Right now... I want to go home and watch Without a Trace on TV."

Ben highlights, "well, if you're medically fine... You can't go home yet. We'll likely still have people to rescue before the end of our work shifts."

Cassie somewhat reluctantly concludes, "yeah. You're right Ben. I can't have it both ways. Faint chuckle. Let's get back to working."

Ben lightly comments, "that's the spirit."

Cassie chuckles.

Ten minutes later...

Cassie is driving the ambulance back to the hospital. Ben is sitting in the front seat opposite her.

They're driving past a highway exit...when a teenage girl on a mostly pink skateboard almost crashes into the ambulance.

Cassie slows down the ambulance to a halt just in time to avoid hitting the teenage girl.

The teenage girl looks a little shook. She has slightly short black hair tied back in little buns. She wears a mostly dark blue school uniform and a mostly red and blue plaid skirt. Her name is Mattie.

Cassie and Ben breathe nervous sighs of relief.

Ben adds, "that was close." Cassie adds, "yeah. Shouldn't she be in school?"

Mattie is checking for rips or stains on her uniform. She is still standing in front of the ambulance. People in cars are honking impatiently around the ambulance in the middle of the road.

Cassie frustratedly sighs. She turns on the ambulance sirens.

Mattie annoyedly glares at her and Ben.

Mattie is walking down a nearby crosswalk while giving Cassie and Ben the middle finger. Several cars come to a abrupt stop to avoid hitting Mattie.

Cassie mutters under her breath, "who puts off an ambulance? Jesus! ! Kids sometimes."

Ben shakes his head annoyedly. Cassie heavily sighs.

Cassie goes back to driving the ambulance.

Ten hours later, at Cassie's apartment...

Cassie is preparing whole wheat spaghetti for dinner. The water in the pasta pot is getting close to boiling temperature.

Suddenly... She hears a knock at the door.

Cassie checks the timer set on her stopwatch. It has three minutes to go.

Julia calls out, "coming!"

She answers the door.

And... She sees Julia standing there.

Cassie looks stunned. Julia looks nervous.

For a second... Cassie thought she saw a grown up version of Julia wearing a Spider-Woman superhero outfit.

Spider-Woman Julia's superhero outfit is a mostly black jumpsuit with a gold lined white spider across the chest. She has a black mask on her face. She carries two golden psychokinetic web lines in her hands.

One second later... Cassie goes back to seeing the present day Julia.

She is wearing a black lined mostly white T-shirt and a dark green skirt. She has a mostly blue backpack with yellow swirls.

Almost at the same time... Cassie and Julia say, "hi. Umm..."

Cassie brings up, "I have to ask. What are you doing here?"

Julia nervously voices, "I...ran away from home. But, I had good reason! Can we talk inside, Cassie?"

They're both teary eyed now.

Cassie says, "okay. I have a strong feeling I should believe you. Come in."

She and Julia walk back into her apartment.

Not long after...

Julia and Cassie are sitting on the couch.

Pasta is cooking in the pot. Cassie put in another bowl of whole wheat spaghetti for Julia.

Julia explains, "I...haven't had much friends left after being sent to live with my dad, his new wife, and her little boy. My mom's in a psych ward. Hard sniffle. My dad has been a heavy drinker. He always wanted things his way. He physically abused my mom for years. And... Hard sniffle. She mentally snapped one night. She tried to kill me and my dad with a gun. Hard sniffle. You're the only woman with a kind face I've seen in years. So..."

Cassie bittersweetly concludes, "you ran away later that day to look for me."

Julia nods. Tears are running down both of their faces.

Julia implies, "but... Hard sniffle. It's not simple as going to the police either."

Cassie assures, "I'm listening. I may not be good at talking to strangers. But... I'm doing well with talking to you so far."

They both awkwardly smile.

Cassie cautiously puts a comforting hand on Julia's. Julia puts a comforting hand on top of hers.

Julia continues to explain, "when my mom Elizabeth Carpenter was sent to a psych ward? My dad blamed me. He shouts at me all the ******* time! ! He tries to physically abuse me too. Hard sniffle. My step mom doesn't care either. She has been bribing me with twenty dollars a week not to tell on my dad."

Cassie somberly reflects, "jesus! That all sounds like living hell. Hard sniffle. I believe you, Julia. But... I have to ask you a important question. What do you mean by he tries to physically abuse you?"

Julia bittersweetly explains, "when my dad was busy with preparing divorce papers and work? I took tae kwon do classes after school. He didn't even really notice. I wanted to learn to defend myself in case he tried to physically abuse me next. But... Hard sniffle. Once in a while? He gets a lucky shot."

She pulls up part of her shirt.

And... Cassie sees a big purplish bruise on Julia's side.

Cassie gasps.

She shakily says, "oh...my god."

After a bit... Julia pulls back down part of her shirt.

Julia explains, "and... Because it's not often? Hard sniffle. It's all too easy for my dad to say to police that it was "just a accident in the backyard pool". Hard sniffle. He doesn't go after his new wife Mrs. Cornwall or her son. Just me. Honestly? Hard sniffle. I don't think my dad or his new family would want me to come back anyway. I'll even give you the phone number to call him."

Cassie plans out, "okay Julia. I'll call him. If he and Mrs. Cornwall don't care for you to come back? You can stay with me for at least a week. See how it goes. If it doesn't go well? I'll look for foster care for you. Either way? You'll likely in a few years be eighteen. And... If staying with me goes well? Then I'll be happy to take care of you until you're eighteen. How does that all sound?"

Julia voices, "honestly? I really wish you could skip to adopting me. But... Moderate sigh. I understand too well this isn't a step to take lightly. And... Even though we may both be really awkward? Faint chuckle. I think I made the right call by coming to you."

Cassie adds, "thank you."

The teariness in both of their eyes starts to dry up. They bittersweetly smile.

That night, in another city in New York...

In a faintly familiar figure's mind... Flashes go by: Of dead bodies of NSA agents and police officers across a burning city block, of a ghostly pale figure with lion's mane styled long black hair standing over dead bodies of The Avengers, and of Spider-Woman Julia charging after the figure.

The ghostly pale figure's name is Morlun. He has a mostly dark blue business suit over white. He's using his mystically glowing near blackish green fingernails to pull psychokinetic pulsing red energy out of a comatose and screaming green Hulk.

Morlun hears distant echoes, "You're not going to hunt more people, Morlun. This barbarianism ends now! ! I'm Morlun, the ultimate hunter! ! No one gets in my way and lives! ! Let's take him down! !"

Another set of flashes go by: Of a Spider-Woman with cybernetic arms and a Spider-Woman with a metallic exoskeleton suit charging for Morlun, of all three Spider-Women barely blocking Morlun's fingernails and fists, of Spider-Woman Julia wrapping a golden psychokinetic web line around Morlun, of Morlun violently bending cybernetic arms backwards into the sides of a certain screaming Spider-Woman...and of Spider-Woman Julia hurling Morlun violently into a office computer several stories up.

At the same time... Morlun hears distant echoes, "I got him! Ohh shit. I know he was evil. But, we didn't mean to kill him! We know. We didn't foresee that part of it. But... This future was the only one we could see a way of stopping him from hunting and killing all superheroes. Who are you?! !"

From the electricity and fire of the burning computer... Morlun is screaming in his dying breath.

Suddenly... Morlun wakes up with a startle.

He just had a nightmare of his own death.

He finds himself in bed...with a woman.

She has medium curly golden brown hair. Her name is Jill.

They're in her apartment. A NSA authorized gray computer is on a desk by one of her apartment's windows.

NSA agent Jill somewhat nervously checks, "bad dream?"

Morlun coldly explains, "it's not a dream. Even knowing how powerful I am? I can very well be murdered one day."

Jill reflects, "um... Whether from old age or murder? We all die one day. It's what we do before we die that matters more."

Morlun reasons, "that's a bittersweet sentiment. But, this is different than just "going on living". Every night the same visions. The same three faces. It's a curse! ! If you saw who is going to murder you? You'd try to stop them."

With a smirk... Jill recalls, "yes. I'm a NSA agent. You came all the way here from the west coast offering your powers to the NSA to hunt down criminals for the greater good. And, we've been dating for a year. Of course we'd try to stop them."

Morlun continues, "yes. You may have killed criminals in the line of duty for the NSA. But... You have no idea of the torment and torture of yourself dying over and over again. And I can't escape that sinking feeling! Heavy sigh. Not unless I find them and kill them first."

Jill suggests, "have you at least tried talking to them? Maybe they don't really want to kill you."

After a bit... Morlun blatantly lies, "I've tried that too. I've tried everything. The visions end the same!"

Jill concludes, "I see. So you know who did… I mean, will do it?"

Morlun recalls, "it's always the faces of those three super powered women. Can you imagine how frustrating it's been? Trying to identify someone I've only seen in a vision?!"

Jill considers, "yes. But... Morlun? I got to ask you something. Try not to get mad at me."

Morlun creepily says, "for you? I'll try not to be mad." Jill just adds, "thank you."

Jill brings up, "in all the time we've been together... You've never once mentioned your nightmares to me. Why now?"

Flashes go by: Of Morlun and Jill sitting and holding hands at a opera house, of them making out in Jill's apartment with Morlun's hands running up and down her sides, of Jill injecting herself with a needle full of antibodies, of Morlun's mystically glowing near blackish green fingernails pulling on psychokinetic pulsing red energy within Jill...and of special antibodies within Jill's body shielding her from Morlun's psychokinetic energy pull like nothing happened.

Morlun admits, "because it's taken a year for me to admit I... Heavy sigh. I can't search alone for these girls: Even with the spy network the NSA has. There has been just too many possible towns and cities in New York. You know how hard it was at first for me to not work alone on missions for the NSA. This isn't far off at all. Is it?"

Jill puts a comforting hand on his.

She somewhat lightly figures, "no. It's not far off at all. All right. I know a thing or two about New York. I'll help you narrow down your search."

Morlun adds, "thank you."

He kisses her hand.

Jill suggests, "many kids visit the Statue of Liberty on elementary school trips. If even just one of the girls in your visions has gone to school in New York? We'll find them through security camera footage around there."

Morlun goes, "excellent! We'll begin tomorrow morning. I always loved your brilliance, Jill."

Jill chuckles.

Jill comments, "I love your determination, Morlun."

Morlun comments, "as do I. Good night."

They briefly kiss.

Jill says, "good night."

They both start to go back to sleep.

But... Jill doesn't notice the evil grin on Morlun's face.

Back with Cassie and Julia...

Cassie called Julia's dad to check if he and his wife even cared that Julia was missing.

Julia's dad said he wanted to "wash his hands of that ungrateful bitch". He all too lightly even offered to help fill out adoption forms for Julia to move in with Cassie all the sooner.

Cassie told Julia that she was right about her dad. Cassie and Julia agreed to try out living together.

They casually eat dinner together. It was mostly quiet and yet calm.

They watch some TV. They talked a bit about favorite TV shows.

Not long after that... They go to sleep.

They casually sleep in the same bed.

And... As they go to sleep... Julia has a comforting hand on Cassie's.

They had no idea how more complicated the future is soon going to get for them.
