Julia asks, "is there anything I can...?"
Cassie suggests, "that is one of the teenage girls we got to save. Can you please get her off the train?"
On the first part? She points to Anya.
Julia awkwardly admits, "I haven't done this before. But... I'll try to be a hero for you." Cassie adds, "thank you."
Morlun has just jumped down to a automatic door by Anya.
Julia and Cassie see Morlun coming. They both look wide eyed in shock.
Flashes go by in each of their minds: Of first seeing Morlun's face.
Julia fast walks over to Anya.
Anya has her backpack on a metal subway table. She's about to pull out a sketchbook from a unzipped part of her backpack.
Julia quickly waves to Anya.
Julia nervously tries to assure, "hello. Please don't hate me for this. I'm trying to protect you."
Anya is in the midst of saying, "come on! I can take care of...myself..."
Morlun is about to violently grab Anya out of her seat.
Julia jump kick swings on two handle rings on the subway car ceiling.
And... She manages to kick Anya's backpack hard into Morlun's head.
Morlun's aim is set off by Julia's surprise attack. Anya barely jump tumbles out of the way of his mystically glowing near blackish green fingernails.
Morlun's fingernails slash right through the seat Anya was just sitting in. Seat cushion stuffing goes flying in a little cloud.
Some people scream.
Morlun groans hard. He is stunned for a bit.
Julia deduces, "for your protection? We got to get off the train now!"
Anya quickly gets back to her feet. She is putting her backpack back on.
At the same time... Julia offers Anya's sketchbook back to her.
It apparently fell out of Anya's backpack when it went flying.
Sounding a little shook... Anya figures, "well... I'm convinced. Lead the way."
Julia smiles some.
With Julia's help... Anya quickly puts the sketchbook back into a then zipped back up part of backpack.
Then... Julia leads Anya by the hand off the train through a automatic door.
Meanwhile, back with Max Black and Cassie...
Max Black suggests, "you know... I can street fight. I can help protect all you girls."
Cassie deduces, "Max... I'm touched you want to. But, you should go home. Your family and friends are probably miles away worried about you."
Max Black somewhat snarkily voices, "oh please! My hometown is called Hope, and it's where hope gets drunk and keels over in a grave. Most of the parents there get real drunk. I saved that pregnant girl from her dad. Okay?! I think I can take care of myself, thank you."
Mattie is quick to add, "I can take care of myself too."
By then... Julia is leading Anya off the train.
Cassie incredulously points out, "even from a grim reaper guy with the power to drain people body and soul?!"
With a smirk... Max Black all too casually says, "Cassie? It's not my first brush with death."
Morlun is angrily charging for Cassie and Mattie.
Max Black violently hurls a knife at Morlun's chest.
Morlun deflects her knife with ease with his fingernails. It clinks hard against a subway train wall.
With a vicious glare... Morlun declares, "I'm Morlun, the ultimate hunter. No one gets in my way and lives! !"
Max Black ducks out of the way of a violent slash from his mystically glowing near blackish green fingernails.
But... Just as fast... Morlun grabs her.
Cassie worriedly calls out, "Max! !"
Cassie tries to move Max Black out of the way.
But... Morlun grabs her too.
Morlun violently hurls Max Black into a subway train window. Glass pieces go flying out the subway train.
Many people on and off the subway train are screaming.
At the same time... Morlun is choking Cassie with one hand.
Cassie struggles to breathe. Her vision starts to get blurry.
Max Black crash tumble lands back on to the subway train floor. She groans violently on her side.
Suddenly... Morlun cries out in pain.
Jersey has just bitten his arm. Morlun reactively lets go of Cassie.
Cassie is catching her breath.
With a slight smile... Max Black tries to insist, "I'm okay! Violent groan. I'm okay."
She is clutching her side. But, she's back on her feet.
Meanwhile... Many people are using their cell phones to call the police on Morlun: Including the subway train driver.
From the subway station... Julia asks in concern, "Cassie?! Are you and the other girls okay? What is going on?!"
Dark red liquid is dripping from Morlun's arm. He fights the urge to clutch his arm.
Cassie tells Jersey, "good girl, Jersey."
At the same time... She lightly pets Jersey.
Jersey lightly barks.
With a smirk... Cassie points out to Morlun, "you know... If I were you? I'd run tap water on that wound as soon as possible off this train. It could get infected."

Cassie and Jersey are fast walking off the train. A automatic door opens for them.
Mattie chases after them.
Max Black starts to fast walk off the train.
But... She notices her vision is a little blurry.
She violently groans some.
With some mixed feelings... Max Black realizes, "Cassie? Julia? I...think I'm more exhausted from that hit than I thought. Go on without me."
She kind of dizzily walks over to a subway train seat. She manages to sit down kind of easily in a subway train seat.
Julia asks in concern, "are you sure you don't need a hospital?"
She and Anya have been standing by the automatic door to check on Max Black.
Max Black assures, "I've taken worse hits. I'll be okay girls. But... Thanks."
Julia, Anya, and Cassie smirk. Max Black smirks wide back.
All the while... Morlun looks somewhat amused at Max Black.
Mattie keeps trying to grab back her skateboard from Cassie.
But... Cassie is holding it too high for her to reach.
Cassie bittersweetly remarks, "let's just hope we both escape death."
Morlun is about to violently grab Julia and Anya.
But... Cassie violently slams Mattie's skateboard into his side.
Morlun groans violently some. He stumbles back a little.
He angrily cries out.
Max Black figures, "I hope you all escape! Peace."
On the last part... She makes a peace sign in Cassie's direction.

She, Julia, Anya, Mattie, and Jersey break into a run. Cassie leads them down a subway tunnel.
Morlun is run charging after them. The automatic door closes behind him.
And... The subway train Max Black is on finally starts to head to Poughkeepsie.
Mattie comments, "okay. That was a good move. But, you better not break my humvee skateboard! !"
Anya tries hard not to laugh. Julia looks a little amused.
Cassie tries to assure Mattie, "I'll give it back to you in one piece after we escape."
Mattie is quick to add, "like I have a choice right now! I'm so pressing charges after this! !"
Julia annoyedly groans at that.
Anya brings up to Cassie, "how do you know this creepy vampire guy wants to kill us?!"
Cassie kind of cryptically replies, "I'll tell you what I know after we escape. Run! !"
Suddenly... All five of them hear a subway train coming fast in their direction.
Jersey loudly barks in the direction of the subway train.
Mattie comments, "yeah. How about off the tracks so we don't die?!"
Julia nervously replies, "that's a fair point right now! !"
Cassie annoyedly says, "I know, I know! I have to do better, okay?!"
Cassie, Jersey, Mattie, Julia, and Anya are running back the way they came.
Julia apologizes, "I'm sorry Cassie. I know you're trying your best."

Julia slightly smiles. Anya and Mattie just look frustrated right now.
They all run jump back into the train station...just in time to avoid the incoming subway train.
Not long before, back in the train station...
Morlun is about to jump down into a subway tunnel after Cassie.
But... Just then... Police officers are closing in around Morlun.
They call out, "freeze! ! Don't move! ! Drop all your knives: Now! !"
Over Morlun's comlink... Jill thinks out loud, "I'm picking up plenty of calls to the police fitting your description. I thought the point of me sending a power glitch in the subway station was to make sure you caught the girls on the train without raising suspicion and without anyone else getting killed! !"
Back at her apartment... Jill looks furious.
Morlun all too lightly shrugs toward the police officers.
And... He jumps down fast into the subway tunnel.
The police shoot their guns at him.
But... They all miss.
Over comlink... Morlun whispers, "Cassie Web got intel that I was coming. Punches were thrown. It could be a enemy spy. Run a search through C.I.A, F.B.I, and N.S.A. for any suspicious person meeting Cassie Web in the past week."
Jill frustratedly sighs. Her glare toward her computer fades.
She concludes, "I see. I'm on it, dear."
Morlun just says, "thank you dear."
He's been running toward another end of the subway tunnel to try to lose the police.
Then... A certain incoming subway train is coming in.
Morlun run jumps onto the top of this subway train.
A police officer calls out, "the vampire guy is still here! Get him! !"
Cassie suggests, "from where we are? We don't have to cross any subway tracks to get to the emergency exit. Come on! !"
Cassie, Julia, Anya, Mattie, and Jersey start to run for a emergency exit door between subway stations.
Shots are fired at Morlun.
Morlun swing jumps off a support beam of the subway station ceiling.
He is climbing the ceiling with the tiny but super strong spider tendrils in his fingers. His business suit blends in with shadows coming from the subway station ceiling.
With a creepy grin... Morlun concludes to himself, "now the real show begins."
He uses his uninjured arm to slash off a support beam from the ceiling.
It falls fast toward Cassie.
Suddenly... Cassie sees flashes of blurry spider webs, a curtain of darkness, and a bright light.
She sees the falling support beam violently crashing into Anya.
Brief flashes of dark red liquid splatter. A dying scream.
At the present time, out in the physical...
Cassie worriedly calls out, "Anya! Jump and run now! !"
Anya run jumps over a few concrete steps. She tumble lands back to her feet.
And... The falling support beam crashes harmlessly over the edge of the concrete steps behind her.
Mattie goes, "holy shit! ! You almost got killed."
Anya and Julia gulp very nervously at that.
Cassie calls out, "keep running! ! Go! !"
Cassie, Julia, Anya, Mattie, and Jersey run for the emergency exit door up ahead. Morlun is wall climbing down for the emergency exit door.
Julia nervously realizes, "oh god. He can climb walls too?!"
Anya is quick to figure, "we'll analyze the situation later. Come on! !"
Julia quickly nods.
She, Cassie, Anya, Mattie, and Jersey run through the emergency exit door. A emergency alarm goes off from it.
And... From the street above the emergency exit... A car radio starts playing a gender flipped version of the song Miles Away by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in John P. Sessions style.
Morlun side swings off the walls to get to the emergency exit door.

A team of three police officers has found Morlun at the emergency exit door.
Morlun creepily just says, "perfect. Like three ducks in a row."
At the same time... He uses his super strength to rip the emergency exit door off the hinges.
And... He violently hurls it into one of the police officers.

One of the remaining two police officers cries out, "you're going to pay for that, you bastard! !"
Both police officers are teary eyed. They shoot their guns at Morlun.
But... He's already halfway up the emergency stairs.
Cassie, Julia, Anya, Mattie, and Jersey are running up the emergency stairs.
Morlun taunts, "you girls can't hide from me! !"
He violently swing jumps up off of some railing into Cassie.
Cassie is sent flying into Julia.
They both crash land on to the final step of the stairs. They both groan violently.
Cassie is clutching her head. Julia is clutching her side. Cassie has a purplish bruise on her forehead.
One of the police officers warns, "step away from the girls right now! !"
Both police officers have caught up to Morlun. One of them has his gun aimed right at Morlun's head.
Cassie and Julia help each other to their feet. Mattie and Anya look fairly shaken.
Morlun all too casually says, "okay."
He starts to head down the stairs.
Suddenly... Morlun violently grabs the same police officer from behind him.
He's using his mystically glowing near blackish green fingernails to pull psychokinetic pulsing red energy out of the police officer.
The police officer screams in his dying breath.
At the same time... Morlun disturbingly rotates his body around like a puppet on a string to shoots his gun at the other police officer.
Cassie cries out, "no! ! !"
A dying scream. Brief flashes of dark red liquid splatter.
Both police officers fall dead on the stairs.
Cassie, Julia, Anya, Mattie, and Jersey are all teary eyed.
Julia and Cassie hurriedly get a emergency hatch open. It leads out to a sidewalk above.
Cassie calls out, "Jersey goes up first!"
She, Julia, Mattie, and Anya together lift Jersey up high enough to step out of the emergency hatch herself.
Jersey stands ready on the nearby sidewalk.
Morlun creepily laughs. His body is mystically glowing in near blackish green psychokinetic energy.
He rips off the metal wrapping around his arm.
His arm wound has vanished. Only dried up traces of dark red liquid.
Morlun is in the midst of ranting, "no little girl is going to stop me again! My ultimate strength is at full. No more weak spots. You all will...die before...! !"
While he's been ranting? Cassie, Julia, Mattie, and Anya have been climbing out of the emergency hatch.
Morlun is about to climb up after them.
But... Just then... Cassie slams down the emergency hatch against his head.
Morlun gets dizzy. He stumbles back a little.
After a bit... He is not dizzy.
He opens the emergency hatch. He climbs out of it.
He looks around the city street he's on.
But... He sees no sign of Cassie, Julia, Anya, Mattie, or Jersey.
Morlun just sees police cars coming fast for the left open emergency hatch.
Morlun fast walks into a dark alley.
And... He angrily cries out with his arms up.
Around then, on a nearby street...
Cassie assumes Morlun is still after her and the girls. She finds a left unattended and unlocked taxi.
At a near whisper... Cassie instructs, "just get in!"
At the same time... Anya, Julia, and Mattie incredulously ask, "what?!"
Jersey had already climbed over to the front seat opposite of the driver's seat. Cassie has already gotten into the driver's seat.

Jersey is sitting balanced enough on a front seat. Everyone else has buckled up their seatbelts by now.
Mattie somewhat shakily mutters, "that guy... That guy was like a ringleader from hell. Hard sniffle. He killed those cops like they were just building blocks to throw, and it takes a lot to scare me! !"
Julia nervously accesses, "he… He has glowing razor sharp nails that drain life out of people just by touch. Hard sniffle. He climbed on walls. He healed himself from a dog bite without water or medicine. How is all that even possible?!"
Some tears fall from her face.

Cassie heavily sighs. She doesn't know what to say next to the three girls.
Anya concludes, "I don't know! Hard sniffle. There's not enough scientific friction or force in a human hand to overcome gravity and keep him stuck to the wall. I... I don't even know how Spider-Man does it."

Cassie puts both of her hands back on the wheel. She is turning the taxi down another street corner.
Mattie wonders, "no science seems to stop Morlun. So, what would stop him?"
Anya incredulously asks, "did you really say science isn't helpful?!"

Cassie makes a frustrated face.
She calls out, "okay. Enough! !"
Anya and Mattie look nervous.

Mattie says, "my parents are on a business trip."
Anya is quick to say, "my parents are out of town too."

And... Cassie hears some news over the radio.
The radio broadcast is saying, "…and finding the person of interest seen in the vicinity of an attack on several NYPD officers at Grand Central terminal."
Cassie lightly assumes, "that's great. Good. Hope they arrest that grim reaper guy on his crazy ass! ! That was insane."
She smiles. Everyone else slightly smiles.
The radio broadcast continues, "she is also the same person who abducted three teenage girls. Eye witnesses have identified the woman in her early 30's and wearing a orangish red leather jacket. The N.S.A. says a intelligent report has identified this woman as a identity thief who has this afternoon stolen the identity of the New York paramedic Cassie Web."

Anya, Mattie, and Julia gulp nervously. The smiles fade from all their faces.
The radio broadcast goes on, "this criminal has sent a call to the F.B.I. asking for a billion dollars in exchange for returning the teenage girls to their families. The N.S.A. is not releasing further details at this time. If you see three teenage girls with backpacks away from school property or someone who could be impersonating Cassie Web? Please contact your local authorities or the N.S.A."
Police sirens start going off nearby. Jersey loudly barks at that.
Cassie points out, "I didn't even pull out my cell phone once since I came into the subway! What the hell?!"
Mattie supposes, "forget the cell phone for a second. How do we know you and Julia are not kidnappers?!"
Anya heatedly glares at her.
Anya bitterly mutters, "way to kill a mood, Mattie. God!"
Mattie gives her a incredulous look.
Cassie insists, "this isn't a kidnapping!"
Julia highlights, "yeah. We're not doing any of this for money. We're not kidnappers! If we were? We wouldn't make a big deal of being accused like this, and we'd have a getaway car instead of a stolen taxi! !"
Mattie cuttingly remarks, "okay. You're either both telling the truth or you're really bad at kidnapping."
Cassie awkwardly goes, "thank you. I...think."
Mattie explains further, "because we're being chased by police cars right now."
They all now notice several police cars chasing after them.
Julia asks, "what?!" Anya goes, "shit! !"
Cassie mutters, "ohh ******* hell! !"
She drives the taxi toward a gas station.
Cassie calls out, "hold on! !"
She speeds the taxi right through a pile of gas containers. They fall in the path of the police cars.
The cap on one of the gas containers bursts open. The gas is pouring from it.
The police officers in those police cars hit the brakes hard. They grind to a halt to avoid driving through the flammable liquid gas.
Julia, Mattie, Anya, and Cassie breathe sighs of relief. Jersey lightly barks.
Cassie drives the taxi down another road. No police cars in sight.
Cassie can't help but ask, "what about the grim reaper guy? He was crawling on the walls and killing cops! ! Why don't they first go after that guy?! I mean, we all saw…"
Mattie remarks, "because many cops are racist?"
Anya says, "I got no argument here."
Julia supposes, "some cops are that bad. I think this time though it was just that we literally stole a taxi in the middle of a city in New York!"
Cassie makes a nervous face.
Cassie admits, "okay. That wasn't my best move."
Julia concludes, "I'm sorry. I know you just want to protect us all."
Anya concludes, "everyone else thinks you're a kidnapper and identity thief. But... I don't think you are a kidnapper, Cassie."
Cassie says, "Anya? Julia? Thank you for believing me." Anya and Julia add, "you're welcome."
Mattie just makes a awkward face.

Cassie tries to assure, "okay. Just... Try to stay calm, everyone."
She puts a hand up on the last part.
Mattie offers, "my uncle Jonah can totally help us. I'm going to call him and say I just escaped from my kidnapper."
She pulls out her cell phone. She starts to dial a phone number.
Anya questions, "you know the N.S.A. can track those nowadays. Right?"
Suddenly... Cassie takes the cell phone from Mattie.
Mattie calls out, "hey! You can't do that."
Cassie suggests, "she's right. Anya? Here's the cell phone. And, here's a screwdriver."
She hands the cell phone to Anya. She next hands a screwdriver to Anya.
Anya just casually says, "okay."
Mattie incredulously goes, "what?! You're not going to wreck my cell phone."
With a warning glare... Anya mutters, "I'm just trying to help, bitch."
Mattie tries to take the cell phone back from her.
She and Anya start arm wrestling over the cell phone.
Jersey whines a little.
Julia nervously tells, "girls? Please stop fighting!"
Cassie tensely calls out, "no one is wrecking cell phones in my taxi! So... Enough! !"
Mattie and Anya stop fighting over the cell phone.
Anya takes back Mattie's cell phone. They tensely glare at each other.
Cassie explains, "Anya is for now taking out the batteries for all of your cell phones and mine. She'll hold onto them until it's safe to put them back in our cell phones."
With a wide smile... Anya thinks out loud, "good plan. I was first thinking of throwing her cell phone out because her daddy can just buy her a new one. But... Good plan, Cassie."
Cassie adds, "thank you."
Julia very awkwardly smiles toward Anya.
With Cassie still having one hand on the steering wheel? Julia helps Cassie with handing over her own cell phone to Anya.

Anya is using the screwdriver to take out the batteries of all four of their cell phones one by one.
Mattie starts to argue, "what is your problem?!"

Julia, Anya, and Mattie try hard not to laugh at that.
Anya suggests, "still... We should unscrew the license plate on the taxi to be on the safe side."
Cassie concludes, "all right. When we find a good place to lay low? You can do it."
Anya adds, "thanks."
Julia can't help but wonder, "Anya? Have you done this before?"
Anya figures, "I'm just saying we should be careful."
She nervously gulps.

Cassie drives the taxi down a highway. The sun is starting to set.

Morlun demands, "where are they?!"
He is standing by a window. Jill is sitting in front of her computer.
Jill reports, "there was a hit at a gas station. But, the police lost sight of them. Wherever they are now? There aren't any cameras."
Camera footage of several different police chases are on Jill's computer.
Morlun mutters under his breath, "shit! With this technology? We should be ahead of everyone else."
With a slight smirk... Jill bittersweetly comments, "well... Since you just tried to hide murder from me? It's high time I got ahead of you, dear."
Morlun makes a nervous face.
Morlun asks, "what do you mean, dear?"
Jill is now standing there, facing him.
Getting teary eyed... Jill reveals, "I heard some of the fight in the subway train. You could have just knocked out that girl Max Black with her own knife. But, you instead made a spectacle with almost killing her. Why would you go that far...unless you wanted the police to come to be killed? Hard sniffle. I heard three police officers were killed in the emergency exit. And... Police say that one of them was stabbed to dead with many knives in one hand. You never had good intentions working for the N.S.A. or with me. Did you, Morlun? Did you?!"
Morlun heatedly glares. Tears are falling from Jill's face.
He mutters under his breath, "well, I was going to offer you control of America in exchange for letting me keep hunting super powered people of my choosing. But, you can forget it now! !"
With mixed feelings... Jill suggests, "regardless of your intentions? Hard sniffle! You've done good work for the N.S.A, you bastard! So... Hard sniffle. I'll make you a deal. I still help you kill those girls off the record, and we won't try to kill each other. But... We never see each other again. Do you understand me, Morlun?!"
With a creepy smile... Morlun concludes, "you've always been a smart woman, Jill. We have a deal."
And... They shake hands on it.
Ten minutes later, back with Cassie...
Cassie mutters under her breath, "shit! ! We're almost out of gas."
She's fairly recently escaped with the taxi from another chase with police cars. It started from a certain highway and ended southward of Long Island.
Julia suggests, "there's some woods nearby. We can lay low there."
Cassie concludes, "yeah. Not exactly what I expected. But... Good idea."
Julia adds, "thank you Cassie." Cassie adds, "you're welcome."
Mattie sarcastically remarks, "yeah. Just three teenage girls, a woman, and a dog alone in the woods. Definitely not the opening of a horror movie."
Cassie heavily sighs.
With a smile... Julia highlights, "except Cassie is a paramedic with some fighting skills. We have better chances of survival than in most horror movies. Besides... I always wanted to be a girl scout."
With a smile... Anya figures, "I'm sure you'd be a wonderful girl scout."
Julia adds, "thank you Anya."
Cassie smiles.
Mattie reasons, "I still don't know if this is a good idea."
Julia asks, "Do you have a better idea?"
Mattie adds, "no."
Anya adds, "I don't either."
Cassie assumes, "then we go to the woods."
She parks the taxi in some nearby woods. It's nightfall.
There are plenty of big trees and dirt path circles.
They all get out of the taxi. There's no gas left in the taxi.
Anya uses the screwdriver to remove the license plate from the taxi. Julia and Cassie start a campfire with some sticks and a circle of pebbles.
Jersey tries to chase after some squirrels.
But... Cassie holds her back with the leash.
Jersey loudly barks.
Cassie lightly concludes, "okay Jersey! I got a treat for you. Now... Stay. Please."
She pulls out a bag of beef jerky from a pocket in her leather jacket.
Jersey lightly barks. Julia, Anya, and Mattie smile a little.
Mattie wonders, "anybody else starving?"
Cassie gives Jersey a piece of beef jerky. Jersey starts to eat it.
Anya figures, "a little. Julia? Are you good at catching raccoons or squirrels?"
Julia and Cassie give her a weird look. Mattie looks amused.
Anya awkwardly deduces, "what? I was only joking. And... Raccoons scare me."
Julia laughs. Cassie just annoyedly rolls her eyes.
Mattie checks, "okay. So... What's the deal with creepy ringleader guy?"
Cassie admits, "I wish I knew the full deal with him."
Julia brings up, "you know? I'm more interested in why he's trying to kill us in the first place." Anya adds, "same here."
Cassie nervously mutters, 'I don't know! Crazy shit has been happening around me and I don't know why."
Anya questions, "so... What's the deal with you and Julia?"
Cassie checks, "Julia? Is it okay if I tell them?"
Julia tries to assure, "I'll make it easier for us both, Cassie. I'll tell them."
On the last part? She puts a hand up.
Teary eyed... Julia kind of cryptically voices, "my home situation is...complicated. Hard sniffle. Cassie is a paramedic who saved my stepmother. She was super awkward about it. But, she clearly meant well. And... Hard sniffle. I saw someone I could hopefully feel safer around. Cassie and me have been living together for days to see if it can work out. A trial run. Hard sniffle. But, I never expected to end up on the run like this."
Anya, Mattie, and Cassie get teary eyed. Anya and Mattie look stunned.
Anya says, "wow. That sounds super rough." Julia adds, "yeah."
Mattie concludes, "shit. I believe it."
Julia awkwardly asks, "thank you?"
Anya admits, "I never expected to end up on the run like this either. But... I recognize you too, Cassie."
She points toward Cassie.
Cassie asks, "what?"
Anya brings up, "yeah. You live in my building. You leave everyone's junk mail in the lobby, and then everybody else has to clean it up for you."
On the last part? She does a running motion with all her fingers on one hand.
Cassie awkwardly replies, "well, there... There should be a recycling bin or a shredder there. I was making a statement!"
Mattie and Julia look amused. Anya annoyedly rolls her eyes.
Anya observes, "a very not obvious statement. Also... You don't think this is weird? That me and Julia both know you?"
Cassie remarks, "it's honestly, like, the least weird thing that's happened all day."
She lightly waves one of her hands to the side.
Anya and Julia give Mattie a somewhat awkward look.
Mattie is quick to say, "what? Total stranger."
Cassie recalls, "no. You... You flipped me off."
Mattie observes, "it's not really narrowing down much."
Anya nervously goes, "am I the only one freaked out that we all kind of knew you before today?!"
Julia assures, "Anya... It's okay. Today has been plenty freaky for all of us."
She puts a comforting hand on Anya's.
Anya awkwardly smiles. Julia awkwardly smiles back.
The teariness in everyone's eyes starts to dry up.
Cassie explains, "Anya... I kind of know a lot lately. I can see the future. Precognitive powers."
Mattie says, "oh Cassie? You have little spiders crawling on your hair."
Cassie asks, "oh, what the hell?!"
She quickly shakes her hair around a lot.
But... It turns out there are no spiders on her head.
Julia whispers to Cassie that Mattie just tricked her.
Mattie laughs hard. Everyone else is glaring at her.
Cassie incredulously calls out, "Mattie! !"
Mattie all too lightly comments, "see? She didn't see that coming."
She points over to Cassie.
And... Mattie stands there in a smug gliding like pose.
Anya tries hard not to laugh. Cassie looks red in the face in embarrassment.
Julia puts a comforting hand on Cassie's. Cassie puts a comforting hand on top of hers.
After a bit... Cassie points out, "it doesn't just work like that. I'm not Spider-Man, and I don't have his spider-sense."
Julia tries to assure, "girls? Just give her a chance. Please. I did."
Mattie considers, "okay. It won't be easy. But... I'll try to be nicer to her."
They all smile at that.
Julia wonders, "is it okay to ask you how does it work? Because you haven't even told me how."
Cassie makes a nervous face.
She admits, "I... If I knew? I'd tell you all by now. I don't know. It just happens! Okay?"
With a smile... Anya supposes, "like on adrenaline?"
Mattie wonders, "why are you like this?"
At the same time... She shifts her hand up and just as fast puts it back down.
Anya points out, "I'm just saying it... It would make sense with how she saved me from a falling support beam."
At the same time... She has her hands on her hips with her arms out.
Julia and Cassie smirk wide.
Mattie wonders, "can you do it now, Cassie? See into the future?"
Cassie concludes, "I don't know how to control it. But... Anya may be right for why."
Mattie nods.
Julia supposes, "vampire ghost man is like part spider person. What if you're part spider person too?"
Cassie is quick to assume, "I'm not related to Morlun! ! God."
She and Mattie make disturbed faces. Anya looks a little shaken.
Julia assures, "I'm sorry Cassie. I didn't mean to say that. Of course you're nothing like him! You're amazing."
She hugs Cassie tight. She hugs her back.
After a bit... They pull away.
But... Everyone is smiling.
Cassie plans out, "girls? I'm going to walk with Jersey to the nearest gas station and buy a container of gas. I'll be back in a hour to drive us all out of here. Until then? You're in charge, Julia."
She tells Jersey to come with her. Jersey starts to walk with her out of the woods.
Julia nervously asks, "me in charge?! I... I don't know about this, Cassie."
Cassie tries to assure, "well... You've wanted to be a girl scout. Now is your chance to be that."
At the same time... She points toward Julia like she's about to grab a spider web line in her hand.
Mattie and Anya look amused.
Julia states, "I don't even have a tent, a fishing pole, or lanyards!"
Cassie kind of lightly insists, "you have everything you need, Julia. Trust me. Just one hour. Girls? I'll give you each a piece of beef jerky. But, I'm saving one for Jersey for the walk back."
She hands a piece of beef jerky to each of the three girls.
Anya assures, "we'll be okay, Julia. It'll be like a really short summer camp."
Julia chuckles some. Mattie looks amused.
Julia concludes, "well, when you put it that way... That sounds fun."
On the last part? She does a little dance with her arms.
Anya smirks at that.
Cassie says, "great. I'll see you all in a hour. And... Please. Don't do anything dumb."
She says goodbye to the three girls. They say goodbye back.
Then... Cassie and Jersey head out of the woods to look for a gas station.
Anya tells Mattie, "I think she was talking to you."
Mattie annoyedly mutters, "okay. Well, you're just a bitch. So…"
Anya scoffs. Mattie annoyedly rolls her eyes.
Mattie and Anya eat their pieces of beef jerky.
Julia pockets her piece of beef jerky for later.
After a bit... They all sit down on a sideways tree log.
With a wide smile... Julia brings up, "I know Tae Kwon Do."
Anya and Mattie look stunned toward her.
Mattie asks in disbelief, "you?"
Julia nervously divulges, "I had a rough childhood. So... When my parents were divorcing? I... I wanted to fight back if I needed to."
Mattie gets in her face to challenge her.
But... Julia side steps fast enough.
Mattie tries several times to punch her.
But... Julia keeps dodging her.
Then... Julia catches Mattie's arm.
She almost twists it back.
Anya can't help but laugh.
Mattie awkwardly divulges, "okay! You got skill. Now let go of my arm!"
Julia lets go of her arm.
Julia smugly deduces, "thank you. That's what I thought."
With a slight smirk... Mattie adds, "respect."
With a wide smile... Anya tells Julia, "Julia... That was amazing. Can you teach me some of those moves?"
Julia blushes some. She smiles wide.
Julia realizes, "you really think I did that good?"
Anya goes, "hm hmm."
Amused sounding... Mattie wonders, "ohh. What's this?"
She finds a doll of the superhero Dazzler in Julia's backpack.
Julia gets red in the face in embarrassment. Anya awkwardly smiles.
Julia states, "give me my doll back! Please."
She offers her piece of beef jerky to trade.
Mattie takes the beef jerky. Julia takes back her Dazzler doll.
Julia puts her Dazzler doll back in her backpack. She quickly puts her backpack further away from Mattie.
Mattie somewhat nervously says, "okay! Cool it. I was only teasing."
Julia and Anya annoyedly roll their eyes at her.
Julia sits down beside Anya on the tree log. Mattie sits on the other end of the log.
Anya pulls out her sketchbook from her backpack. She starts drawing in her sketchbook.
Julia pulls out a mostly yellow and blue Sudoku book from her backpack. She turns back to working on a Sudoku puzzle she was in the middle of.
With a wide smile... Mattie offers, "you know what? I have a better idea than jerky. Did you guys see that diner a half mile down the road? Let's just go there and get real food."
She pockets the beef jerky for later.
Julia somewhat nervously points out, "Cassie told us to stay here."
She doesn't even look up from her Sudoku puzzle.
Mattie points out, "but she also left you in charge. Come on, Julia. Live a little more."
Julia and Anya chuckle a little.
Anya has recently finished drawing a very light blue beetle with dark red grappling hook launcher styled arms. She puts her sketchbook away.
After a bit... Julia puts her Sudoku book away.
Julia brings up, "well... I have some money."
Anya says, "I have some money too."
At the same time... She raises her hand.
Mattie implies, "and, I have a lot of money. So…"
Somewhat sarcastically... Anya goes, "I see. You have more money. So, we should do what you want "genius"?"
She's crossing her arms.
Mattie checks, "you got something to say?"
She raises her eyebrow. Julia makes a nervous face.
Anya brings up, "you know... I think you were born rich. I bet your dad is a senator, your mom sits on the board at the Met, and you live somewhere in the Hamptons next to Martha Stew..."
Julia solemnly murmurs, "so sad about her."
Mattie divulges, "you're not far off, Anya. My parents are in Japan. My dad is raking in a ton of money for making cutting edge tech for big companies, and my mom is spending it all on hideous art. So… I talk to them on Mondays."
On the last part? Mattie smirks.
Julia wonders, "so who do you live with?"
Mattie answers, "the housekeeper. Well, on the upside? No curfew."
Amused sounding... Anya remarks, "nice. Now I'm jealous."
Mattie laughs. Julia looks amused.
Julia reasons, "I bet you have your own room. Until several days ago? I lived with my dad and his wife and their kid."
Anya wonders, "what about your mom?"
Julia awkwardly implies, "she's...not really around."
Mattie can't help but ask, "she bailed on you?"
Julia gulps nervously. Anya and Mattie make nervous faces.
Anya lightly offers, "so… Let's go to the diner? Spend some of Mattie's daddy's tech money?"
She and Mattie get up. They're both smiling wide.
Mattie thinks out loud, "I'm going to order everything on the menu. Julia, are you in?"
Julia awkwardly smiles some. She's nervously playing with her hands.
Mattie tries to assure, "hey. I... I know this is going to be hard to think about. But... If something bad happens to Cassie and Jersey on the way back? We have to take care of them and ourselves."
Julia kind of shakily nods. Anya makes a somewhat nervous face.
Julia reasons, "yeah. I... I hate to admit this. But... Heavy sigh. You're right. Let's go do this."
She gets up.
Mattie starts to head to the diner. Anya and Julia follow her.
Anya lightly remarks, "she's cute when she's decisive."
Julia lightly says, "I heard that."
They smile wide to each other.
Then... They both fast walk a little to catch up to Mattie.
Mattie concludes, "you are making the right decision, Julia. You would not like me when I'm hungry."
Anya says to herself, "you could do better on likeability."
Julia tries hard not to laugh.
Mattie asks, "what was that?"
Anya kind of nervously says, "nothing."
