In A Whole New Web With You: A Madame Web Movie Fanfiction Story

Act IV:

Not long after...

Cassie drives the taxi to a motel on the edge of New Jersey and New York. She parks the taxi in the parking lot.

Cassie calls out, "come on! There's plenty of chances for laying low here."

She, Jersey, Julia, Anya, and Mattie get out of the taxi.

Cassie leads Jersey up some stairs to the motel's second floor. Julia, Anya, and Mattie follow them.

Julia nervously realizes, "he's not gonna stop trying to kill us. Is he?"

Cassie deduces, "probably. I don't know what else he wants."

She frustratedly sighs.

Anya somewhat nervously suggests, "but… You can see the future. Can't you stop him quickly with your visions?"

Cassie replies, "at this rate? Only if he starts attacking soon."

With a slight smirk... Mattie points out, "okay. You have a vision before every fight. How is this not a plus for us?"

Cassie admits, "I just wish it was all a hell of a lot easier to deal with."

With a awkward smile... Anya admits, "well, I wish the same thing."

Julia adds, "I think we all do." Mattie adds, "yeah."

Julia asks in concern, "Cassie... Are you okay?"

Cassie kind of shakily states, "with everything going on? Kind of."

They all reach a motel room door. The windows for the motel door are dark.

Cassie checks, "is the coast clear, Jersey?"

Jersey looks around. She lightly barks a little.

Cassie concludes, "good."

And... She gets out a screwdriver to use on the card reader on the motel door.

Julia and Anya look wide eyed in shock.

Mattie all too lightly comments, "wow. You're not really such a goody two shoes. I'm surprised. Like good surprised."

She smirks wide on the last part.

At a whisper... Cassie is quick to say, "I'll explain myself to all of you on why when we're inside. Julia? Help me with this?"

Cassie uses the screwdriver to carefully unscrew a corner of the card reader. Julia nervously nods.

Cassie quickly hands Julia the screwdriver. Cassie starts to use the bobby pin to pick the lock in the doorknob.

Julia uses the screwdriver to unscrew the rest of the card reader corners.

After a bit... Cassie and Julia unlock the motel door.

They all start to hear footsteps.

Cassie quickly gets out another bobby pin. She hands it to Julia.

Cassie uses the first bobby pin to fasten a top corner in the card reader to the door through two aligned holes. Julia follows her lead with the other top corner of the card reader.

Cassie whispers, "get in!"

She, Jersey, Julia, Anya, and Mattie fast walk through the motel door. Cassie quickly closes the door behind her.

A few motel guests walk by the door.

Cassie, Jersey, and the girls are the only ones in the motel room. Cassie and the girls sigh in relief.

Cassie explains, "until we find a way to clear up that I'm not really a identity thief or a kidnapper to the N.S.A? I'm not really liable for a few more minor crimes. My identity thief story will take the blame. It's only a temporary thing. Just don't turn on any ceiling lights, and we may not even be caught."

She turns on a orange tinted lamp on a nighttable. The walls are mostly gray in a beehive style with blue circles. There's a mostly light green sink and matching window curtains.

Julia, Anya, and Mattie put their backpacks in a corner of the motel room. There are two mostly white beds and two light green cushioned chairs.

Mattie says, "okay. Cool by me."

Julia considers, "well, as long as they're minor crimes... I won't tell." Anya adds, "me either."

They all smile.

Julia wonders, "hmm. You may not have spider sense like Spider-Man. But... Have you tried wall climbing?"

Cassie figures, "it's worth a try."

She gets on one of the beds to stand on it.

She tries to climb up the wall.

But... She just ends up falling on the floor with a thud.

The three girls try hard not to laugh. Jersey looks confused.

Cassie awkwardly says, "um... Girls? Let's not tell anyone about that."

She groans hard some. She's clutching one of her hips.

Julia just says, "okay."

Cassie and the three girls smile.

A few minutes later, in the bathroom section of the motel room...

Cassie is looking at the bathroom mirror. She has the bathroom door closed.

She keeps thinking back to her vision where she and the three girls were dying.

Getting teary eyed... Cassie somberly tells herself, "I... How can I be ready to protect the girls if I can't protect myself for long from the grim reaper guy? I just have been acting like I'm ready for all of this! ! But... I'm not. I'm...really not. Hard sniffle. How the hell can I stop this guy? "Keep running for all the good it does me." Those words... I can't stop thinking about those words! !"

She starts to break down crying.

Suddenly... She hears a knock on the bathroom door.

From the other side of the bathroom door... Julia asks in concern, "Cassie?! Are you okay? We heard some shouting."

Cassie takes a deep breath.

Cassie tries to assure, "I hope we can all be soon. I'll be right out!"

Julia nervously says, "ok...ay."

After a bit... Cassie opens the bathroom door.

Julia, Anya, and Mattie are sitting on the floor cuddling with Jersey and petting her. Jersey is taking turns licking their hands.

Cassie sits on one of the chairs. She takes a deep breath.

The girls make nervous faces.

Before they can say something? Cassie says something first.

With mixed feelings... Cassie divulges, "this isn't easy for me to say: Because I care about all of you and I want to protect you all from Morlun. But... Heavy sigh. Julia is a better fighter than me, and I don't really know how to fight like her. I just wish I can. Heavy sigh. Jersey has to go back home tomorrow anyway. Anya? Mattie? You probably have more security at Mattie's house than with me because of your rich parents. Just tell them you escaped from your kidnapper and say it was really Morlun who kidnapped you: Not me. Heavy sigh. So... First thing in the morning? I'm taking you both to Mattie's home."

Julia looks wide eyed in shock. She doesn't know what to say right now.

She hugs Jersey tight. Jersey lightly barks a little.

Anya and Mattie start to awkwardly say, "umm..."

Cassie asks, "did I say something wrong?"

Anya is quick to say, "you didn't. Not exactly. But..."

Mattie implies, "it's... A little more complicated than you think."

They all gulp nervously at that.

Anya and Mattie are teary eyed. Some tears fall from Cassie's and Julia's faces.

Jersey tries to lick Julia's tears away past her glasses.

Everyone else including Julia bittersweetly smile at that.

Julia and Anya start petting Jersey a lot. They're both now lying by Jersey.

Julia suggests to Mattie, "would it help if I told you and Anya my whole life story?"

Anya figures, "I at least would like to hear it." Mattie reasons, "I wouldn't object."

Several minutes later...

Anya solemnly reflects, "I... I thought I had it hard in life. But... Wow. Heavy sigh. Right now? I... Hard sniffle. I'm just glad you survived, Julia."

Mattie mutters, "I wish I could beat up that bastard father of yours."

Julia says, "thank you girls: For still being here."

She puts a comforting hand on Anya's.

Anya and Mattie smirk a little.

Cassie tries to assure, "you don't have to beat him up! I mean... If it comes to that... It would only be in self defense, and Julia would be the best one of us to do it."

Julia concludes, "thank you Cassie. You're absolutely right."

She gets up. She is facing Cassie now.

Julia asks, "can you come here?"

Cassie kind of lightly says, "yeah. Of course."

They hug each other tight.

Over Cassie's shoulder... Julia whispers, "thank you."

After a bit... They pull away.

But... Everyone is smiling some.

Julia sits back down by Jersey and Mattie.

Mattie divulges, "my parents aren't around either. I think they resent how taking more responsibility for a kid could mess up their "perfect lives". I don't think they're going to fly back from Japan to deal with this, and I really don't want to find out their reaction to telling them about being chased on the subway by Morlun. And... My housekeeper is a greedy bitch who only tolerates me because my family is rich. So… Heavy sigh. I'm on my own."

Anya and Julia puts comforting hands on hers. Mattie doesn't move her hands away.

Cassie offers, "well then... You and Anya can go to S.H.I.E.L.D. for protection. Right?"

Anya brings up, "that depends on who's in charge. They have close ties to the Department of Homeland Security, and that department has ties to the police and I.C.E. Hard sniffle. My dad got deported to Mexico four months ago. I came home from school when he was gone."

Some tears fall from her face.

Julia nervously asks, "what about your mom?"

Anya divulges, "my mom was killed by a street gang in Mexico when I was five. Hard sniffle. It's just me and my dad. Except he never told me he didn't have his papers. So... Hard sniffle. I've just been living by myself in our apartment since then."

Mattie realizes, "you're on your own?"

Anya tries to assure, "I don't need anyone else to look out for me. And, I don't have a curfew either."

On the last part? Mattie smirks a little.

Cassie considers, "and... How are you financially getting by? I mean, it sounds like you've been on your own."

Anya explains, "after school hours? I've been going to the nearest antique shops and junkyards to get junk to sell online for more money. Clockstoppers style. But... Junk I can get around Queens has been in short supply lately. So..."

On the last part... Julia and Cassie are trying hard not to laugh.

With a smirk... Mattie figures, "that's a badass way to live. What's Clockstoppers?"

Anya deduces, "it's a good movie. You should check it out. If...we get out of this alive."

On the last part? Everyone makes nervous faces.

Anya awkwardly apologizes, "sorry."

Anya admits, "also... I don't even have some money left. Hard sniffle. I'm kind of broke."

Some tears fall from her face.

Anya somberly divulges, "yesterday? I spent all my savings to pay off the rent for my apartment. I only had enough food left in my refrigerator for one meal. Hard sniffle. I was hoping to take the subway to Poughkeepsie to find some more antique shops with junk I can sell so that I don't ******* starve to death! Hard sniffle. I sold off a lamp in my apartment online to get enough money to pay for two subway tickets to Poughkeepsie and back. But... Hard sniffle. Being chased by Morlun ruined that plan. Please don't take that the wrong way. I like that we're all getting along better. But... Heavy sigh. I can't go to the police. Until I'm 18... There's no way I'm getting deported, or going into the foster system. Hard sniffle. Say we all make it back to our homes safe. What am I supposed to do...to survive?"

Anya is breaking down crying.

Julia hugs her tight. She hugs her back.

Mattie looks wide eyed in shock. She doesn't know what to say now.

Jersey starts to whine.

At a whisper... Cassie tries to assure Jersey, "no one here is in trouble, Jersey. It'll be okay, Jersey. You may have to go back home to Neil tomorrow. But... Me, Julia, Anya, and Mattie will get through this together. And... Jersey? We'll see each other again soon enough."

At the same time... She's petting Jersey a lot.

On the last part? Jersey lightly barks a little.

Cassie plans out, "well… After we all make it back safe... You and Mattie can try the foster system. It isn't always terrible. Things didn't turn out so bad for me."

Julia and Anya pull away some.

But... They're awkwardly smiling to each other.

Then... Anya turns to face Cassie.

Almost at the same time... Mattie and Anya sarcastically add, "right."

Anya is quick to assure, "but Cassie? Thank you for trying again to help."

Cassie assures, "well... I'll try to think of another way to help all of you. I'm not sure right now how. But... Heavy sigh. I'll do anything I can."

Julia tries to assure, "you already are."

She puts a comforting hand on Cassie's.

And... Everyone bittersweetly smiles.

Later that night...

Anya and Mattie are sleeping in one bed. Julia and Jersey are sleeping in the second bed.

Cassie is about to head to the second bed to go to sleep.

But... Just then... She hears a knock on the motel room door.

Cassie answers the door.

And... N.S.A. agent Jill is at the door.

Jill introduces herself, "hello Cassie. I'm N.S.A. agent Jill. You don't have to run from Morlun anymore. I can give the girls protection."

On the first part? She shows Cassie her N.S.A. badge.

In a low tone... Cassie brings up, "the N.S.A. called me a identity thief on the news. How do I know I can trust you?"

Jill implies, "have you heard of the phrase double agent, Cassie Web?"

Cassie raises a eyebrow. She gives Jill a suspicious look.

Cassie checks, "yeah. I know what a double agent is. And... Now I got to ask you: Which side are you on, agent Jill?"

On the last part? Jill looks amused.

Jill admits, "honestly? I'm considering joining yours."

Cassie looks stunned.

Cassie realizes, "really?"

Jill somewhat nervously comments, "in light of recent events with Morlun? God, yes. Can I come in?"

Cassie figures, "I'd rather step outside. How did you find us? How many agents are out there?"

Jill responds, "I triangulated your position from a certain gas station, from the diner, and from traffic cam footage of taxis. I came alone. Can we take a walk? There's a lot to discuss with you."

Cassie suggests, "all right. But... Moderate sigh. I can't leave the girls by themselves. Why don't we walk around the motel?"

Jill lightly answers, "that sounds good to me too."

They both smile some.

Not long after...

Jill somewhat nervously checks, "so... Cassie... You really don't think any of those girls could be supervillains like Morlun claims?"

Cassie assures, "not at all. You've just told me Morlun has random visions once a month, and that he gave you a backstory about being experimented on as a baby by a crazy biogeneticist father that you're seriously doubting now. I'll be as honest with you. I have more frequent visions. Precognitive powers. If there was any sign any of those three girls would turn evil? I'd think even I'd know about it by now."

Jill smiles. She tries hard not to laugh.

They've been casually walking around the motel together. They by now have told each other everything they know about Morlun and the three girls.

Jill brings up, "Morlun doesn't know you have visions...or he would try to kill you now instead of letting me give you one chance to "walk away" from the girls. Hard sniffle. You know what? Let's just keep the part about your visions from Morlun."

On the last part? She gets teary eyed.

With a slight smile... Cassie reasons, "he may suspect soon I have visions anyway. But... The less he knows, the better. I get it."

Jill nods.

Jill concludes, "your record as a paramedic is exemplary, Cassie. You clearly would do anything to protect those girls. I think I can trust you."

Cassie adds, "thank you."

Jill brings up, "which is also why I have much to tell you about your mother Constance's research expedition in the Amazon."

Cassie asks in near disbelief, "really? I mean... If you do... Please tell me. I just... I'm surprised."

Jill chuckles a little.

Jill explains, "there hasn't been much record of her research expedition...because it was secretly backed by S.H.I.E.L.D. If her research were proven successful? All bioterrorism could theoretically be stopped for good. But... The research expedition ended in tragedy."

Cassie looks stunned.

She and Jill pause.

Cassie shakily concludes, "oh...my god. Why... Why hasn't anyone told me this before?"

Jill continues, "I... I wish I knew more, Cassie. But... I wasn't on the research expedition. Hard sniffle. All I know is the aftermath had to be bad. I know that because S.H.I.E.L.D. instructed all other government organizations in America to erase all records of this research expedition so that S.H.I.E.L.D. would be the only one in America safeguarding the records. They won't even open their records unless they know for sure of a new development around the spiders in Constance Web's research. However... There's a myth told among the locals in Peru."

Cassie concludes, "shit. I think I understand too well now why the expedition was kept quiet. And... What myth was that?"

Jill explains, "Las Aranyas. According to folklore in Peru? They have powers derived from special spider venom from the Peruvian Amazon. They are incredibly fast, incredibly strong, can climb like spiders...and have the power to glimpse into the future."

Cassie realizes, "so Morlun could have stolen one of those spiders."

Jill concludes, "very likely. But, I don't have enough proof to get S.H.I.E.L.D. or the N.S.A. to confirm it, and Morlun would kill me if I tried to expose him to the N.S.A! ! Heavy sigh. I know what I can do instead. I can fake the deaths of the three girls so that Morlun never hunts them down again. It's at least a start."

Cassie points out, "um... Thank you for the offer. But... Heavy sigh. I'm a paramedic with a exemplary record. You said it yourself. All three girls dying by accident on my watch? That's not going to be believable, and you know it."

Jill heavily sighs.

Jill admits, "that's... That's fair."

Jill plans out, "how about this? How about I give you my cell phone number in case you want backup against Morlun?"

Cassie smirks some.

Cassie assures, "that's okay Jill. Really. I'm touched by the offer. But... You've been a big help already with all the new information you've told me. And... Hard sniffle. I don't want you to get caught in a inevitable fight with the three girls and Morlun."

On the last part? She gets teary eyed.

Jill tells her, "thank you. That means a lot. After you and the girls stop Morlun? I'll tell the N.S.A. that Morlun contracted the identity thief to come after you, and that I put the identity thief to justice. You won't have to worry about being arrested for being something you're not. Okay?"

Cassie nods.

Cassie adds, "thank you." Jill says, "you're welcome. Goodbye."

Jill starts to walk away.

Suddenly... Cassie calls out, "wait!"

Cassie asks, "can... Can you do me one more favor after the first one?"

Jill turns back to her.

Jill is quick to say, "yes. Almost anything."

Cassie suggests, "can you give Anya full America citizenship to keep her from being deported by I.C.E? All the girls are innocent. Please."

Jill somewhat nervously concludes, "I could pull some strings at the Department of Homeland Security to do that for you and Anya. No questions asked. But... It would take a week. And... Anya would have to stay out of government trouble. I'm only one government agent. I... Moderate sigh. I can't control everything."

Cassie assures, "after taking down Morlun? It'll get easier for Anya and the rest of us to stay out of government trouble. That's good enough for all of us. Thank you."

Jill adds, "you're welcome."

They say goodbye. Jill walks to her car.

Cassie watches her just to make sure Morlun isn't going to sneak attack either of them.

Morlun doesn't come. Cassie sighs in mixed relief.

Cassie heads back to her motel room.

The girls and Jersey are still sleeping.

But... A guy in a mostly dark blue business suit over white is sitting in one of the chairs.

At a near whisper... Cassie asks suspiciously, "who the hell are you?"

The mystery figure says, "Las Aranyas. After Morlun started to hunt us down? We left Peru. Hiding in plain sight in New York City and other cities in America. I foresaw that you're ready now to find the answers of your past. I promised your mother I'd be to tell you when the time was right."

Cassie looks stunned.

She sits in a chair across from him.

Cassie is physically a little sleepy. She tries hard to keep her eyes open.

Cassie remarks, "if Jill is my Ghost of Birthdays Present, and if you're my Ghost of Birthdays Past... I don't think I'm ready to see my future ghost."

With a smile... The mystery figure cryptically says, "you're capable of much more than you realize, Cassie Web."

Cassie concludes, "I felt some wind when I opened the door. Super speed. But... Everyone thought Las Aranyas were a myth."

The mystery figure asks, "what do you think?"

Cassie mutters under her breath, "I think she's crazy for going there. She may still be alive if not for...! !"

The mystery figure reveals, "she came to the Amazon hoping to extract healing properties from the spiders to cure billions from hundreds of diseases. She thought she was being protected by both S.H.I.E.L.D. and her tour guide Morlun."

Cassie figures, "and that is a very good cause. But... I take it someone turned on her?"

The Las Aranyas guy continues, "Morlun's motives were selfish. He only became a tour guide in Peru to get to your mom to find us. But... A H.Y.D.R.A double agent got Morlun through S.H.I.E.L.D's door so that Morlun could ruin the research expedition for them. He was paid millions. H.Y.D.R.A. was so impressed with him that they let him keep the spider. The spider tried to fight back. But... He still extracted its DNA to give himself the powers of the spider. He used some of his money to give himself vampire bat DNA. A S.H.I.E.L.D. agent exposed the double agent. The H.Y.D.R.A. double agent was killed in their fight. But... Morlun stole the spider without drinking from the primordial waters in the Amazon. He was cursed. He's been trying to outrun his coming death ever since. Faint chuckle. Being hunted by his own hunger for power. Rather ironic."

Cassie nervously smiles a little.

The Las Aranyas guy speeds over to the bathroom section. He places a Amazon jungle styled ceremonial bowl of water by the sink.

Cassie gets up. She cautiously walks into the bathroom section.

Cassie wonders, "Las Aranyas... What is this bowl doing here?"

The Las Aranyas guy bittersweetly smiles.

He highlights, "primordial water. Water since the beginning of time. Like past, present, and future? It never really leaves the Earth."

The water in the ceremonial bowl is cycling back and forth from very few drops to a full bowl of sparkling near blindingly bright water.

Cassie gasps. She looks wide eyed in shock.

The Las Aranyas guy explains further, "our speed lets us carry bowls like this with us: To have the water we need to survive away from the Amazon. You may not have the speed of Las Aranyas. But... You do have powers of the Peruvian Amazon Spider. You would be protected from the danger of losing yourself to the primordial waters. Look into the primordial waters, and you will see the answers to your past. Heal the wounds of your past."

Cassie takes a deep breath. She makes a nervous face.

Cassie sarcastically remarks, "that... That sounds like literally every therapy session I've ever avoided."

The Las Aranyas guy tries hard not to laugh.

He asks, "do you trust me?"

Cassie concludes, "I don't know of a reason why not to trust you. I think that's at least something."

The Las Aranyas guy chuckles a little at that.

After a bit... Cassie deduces, "okay, Las Aranyas. I don't know if I'm ready. But... Heavy sigh. Here I go."

She takes a deep breath. She closes her eyes.

And... She bends her head down into the bowl of primordial water.

She hears clocks ticking and birds chirping. She sees a cosmic bright red ribboned web of flashes of the past several days and of her most recent visions.

Suddenly... Cassie finds herself standing by a spider web in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest.

The year is 1973. She sees her mother Constance Web, two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, and a younger Morlun walking by and carrying red umbrellas.

They can't see Cassie. It's almost like she's a ghost.

Constance Web has medium light brown hair mostly tied back in a ponytail. She has a mostly black camera. She has mostly gray and yellow expedition clothes and gear.

Morlun checks, "you think we're close?"

Constance points out, "they're almost impossible to find. No one has ever captured one alive."

She's taking a bunch of pictures around the web of the Peruvian Amazon Spider.

Morlun recalls, "I agreed to be your tour guide on this mission for a good sum of money. I also thought you were close to finding the fabled spider."

Constance insists, "it's worth the wait. Dead specimens show that the peptides in the spider's venom… They supercharge their cellular structure."

Morlun figures, "that spider can give superhuman strength and power like Las Aranyas."

One of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents comments, "Las Aranyas? The so called mythical spider people who run across the treetops and punish evil men with their black poison pests?"

Morlun makes a annoyed face. The S.H.I.E.L.D. agent looks amused.

Constance concludes, "I'd like to make my research on science. Not legends, Mr. Stumil. These little spiders have the potential to cure hundreds of diseases."

Suddenly... Constance groans hard.

She's clutching her side.

A S.H.I.E.L.D. agent checks in concern, "are you okay?"

With a slight smile... Constance bittersweetly concludes, "not exactly. My baby is trying her best to keep me from working. But I'm not gonna let her do that. Not when I'm this close.

With mixed feelings... Cassie concludes, "I understand wanting to help cure hundreds of people from diseases. But... Hard sniffle. Did you really hate me?"

Morlun suggests to Constance, "perhaps you should rest."

Constance reasons, "For my baby's sake and my sake? I don't have time. But... Thank you."

Morlun nods.

Cassie can't help but wonder, "what does my mother mean by for my sake too?"

Suddenly... She sees flashes to days earlier: Of her mother Constance talking to a doctor in a office in a city in America.

Teary eyed... The doctor tells Constance, "your test results came back. I'm sorry to tell you that your baby has Myestenia gravis. It's a genetic neuro-muscular disorder."

Constance says, "but I don't have a neuro-muscular disorder. Do you know of a cure?"

The doctor somberly says, "I'm afraid there is no cure. Do you want a tissue?"

Constance brings up, "I want a cure: A single target nucleotide intervention. It's experimental. But, there are some promising leads for quickly developing the procedure from the Amazon."

In shock... Cassie murmurs, "oh...my god..."

The doctor warns, "I know this news is hard to accept. But... I have to advise you against traveling in your condition. I'm sorry I can't offer you more than tissues. But, your health..."

Teary eyed... Constance cries out, "no! ! I'm unwilling to accept a diagnosis of helplessness. And, I'm not going to teach my daughter to either! !"

She storms out of the doctor's office before the doctor can say more.

Cassie realizes, "I... I never knew I was born with a neuromuscular disorder. The spider venom had healing powers. I... I'm so sorry I spent so long blaming you for my abandonment issues. Please forgive me!"

Some tears fall from her face.

Suddenly... She finds herself at the S.H.I.E.L.D. camp in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest.

And... From a primordial water echo... Cassie sees a watery version of Constance in the sky.

Constance solemnly tells her, "with all the efforts I and Las Aranyas made to save you? Of course I forgive you... My daughter."

Cassie and Constance smile wide to each other.

They hug each other close in the sky.

Just as fast... Cassie finds herself back on the ground.

Cassie sees Constance from 1973 coming to the camp with a mostly bright green and red Peruvian Amazon Spider in a jar. She is smiling wide.

Constance is cheerfully saying, "I found the spider! Isn't she beautiful? Incredible, isn't it? Something so small and yet so...much power."

She and two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are admiring the spider...when a huge explosion goes off.

While most of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were busy talking among themselves in the tents? A H.Y.D.R.A. agent disguised as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Morlun have been secretly lining up grenades in a venn diagram shape between all three tents.

And... All it took was one lit match from the H.Y.D.R.A. affiliated agent to light the whole camp on fire.

Cameras, research notes, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents on site... They're all going up in flames and smoke.

The towering flames are so high that not even rainforest rain is putting out the fire fast. Dying screams are heard.

Cassie cries out, "no! ! !"

Tears are falling from her face.

One of the two remaining S.H.I.E.L.D. agents is quick to expose the H.Y.D.R.A. affiliated S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. The two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents chase after him.

Constance is about to follow the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents...when 1973 Morlun hits her head hard with the back of a pistol.

Cassie tries to angrily tackle 1973 Morlun.

But... She just passes through him like a ghost.

Cassie tries hard not to break down crying.

Constance wakes up in the Amazon rainforest to find Morlun standing over her. The closed jar with the Peruvian Amazon Spider is by Constance.

Constance reaches for the jar.

With a glare... Morlun warns, "give me the spider. Or, I'll kill you! I've been searching for that spider for years."

Constance nervously argues, "no! Please. We could help so many people."

She's holding the jar. The spider is dancing nervously like it knows what's coming next.

Morlun mutters coldly, "I'm not interested in helping people. There's only power, and those too ignorant or selfish to fully understand power."

Constance somewhat nervously asks, "tell me one thing Morlun. How are you any better than most people?"

At the same time... She is slowly but surely getting up with the jar.

Morlun rants, "how am I...? Laugh! I was the strongest and smartest of my family, and even my own family never respected that. My two brothers bullied me...until I killed them with a knife. Anyone who gets in my way deserves to die! !"

He and Constance are teary eyed. Cassie looks stunned at the two of them.

Constance points out, "you're still making the wrong decision. I'm sorry you were bullied, Morlun. But, you didn't have to kill anyone. That was your choice! !"

Morlun heatedly glares.

He demands, "give me that spider if you and your baby want to live."

Constance shakes her head. Tears are falling from her face.

She murmurs, "no. Please! !"

Morlun demands, "give it to me! !"

Constance tries to run out of range of him.

But... Morlun is faster.

He shoots her in the side.

Constance screams. She is clutching her dark red liquid dripping side.

And... With a creepy grin?

Morlun takes the jar. He caught it in the air before it could crash to the ground.

Between violet coughs... Constance shakily keeps murmuring, "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."

A tribe of people in dark red spidery clothes is coming down on spider web lines to try to find Morlun. They brought ceremonial bowls of primordial water to put out the fire.

But... By the time they put out the campground fire?

Morlun is gone.

All they found is a dying Constance on the ground...going into late preterm labor from the physical trauma alone.

From a primordial water echo... The present day Las Aranyas guy tells Cassie, "Las Aranyas could not stand by while your mother died. We tried to save you both with primordial water and a spider bite from one of the Peruvian Amazon spiders. We saved you. But... Hard sniffle. It only gave your mother another minute before she died."

The 1973 Las Aranyas guys are gathered around Constance.

They poured primordial water on the wound. They gave Constance a bowl of primordial water to breathe into.

And... In that bowl of primordial water... Cassie sees the same scene of her seeing Constance in the sky.

Cassie bittersweetly smiles in a knowing way.

Constance asks, "is...she alive?"

One of the 1973 Las Aranyas guys assures, "yes, and she will grow up to be a paramedic. Her journey will not be easy. But, she is strong like her mother. When she is ready to fully understand that? One of us will be there to help her see it through."

Between violent coughs... Constance murmurs, "thank you... Las Aranyas..."

And... She dies in her last breath.

At the same time... Cassie is holding her hand.

Cassie somberly says, "thank you, mother... And Las Aranyas..."

Tears fall from her face.

From a primordial water echo... The present day Las Aranyas guy tells Cassie, "your hand didn't pass through this time. Now you're starting to see what you're capable of. Now you know the truth about your past. You may not be able to change the past. But... You leave ready with the power to change the future.

You may not have super strength or super speed. But... Your mind has infinite potential. If you master your power? You can use your cosmic web to be in more than one place at the same time. And when the time is right? This greater power will come to you."

And... While he's been talking to Cassie?

The whole scene is slowly but surely changing in a swirl of primordial water.

Presently, out in the physical...

Cassie finds herself looking in the bathroom mirror. She looks shaken.

But... The teariness in her eyes is slowly but surely starting to dry up.

Primordial water drops are very slowly fading from her face.

She looks in the bathroom section and the rest of the motel room.

But... She doesn't see any primordial water bowl or the Las Aranyas guy.

She checks the alarm clock and radio unit on the nighttable. Only three minutes in physical time have gone by for Cassie.

And... She suddenly notices a certain card reader with two bobby pins by the nighttable.

Cassie finds a stick-it note on it.

Cassie reads the note.

It says:

I installed a new card reader while you were looking for me and my primordial water bowl. No damages need to be paid for the room. You're welcome.

-Las Aranyas guy

Cassie chuckles at that. She bittersweetly smiles wide.

She's thinking to herself, "I'm going to have a lot to tell the girls tomorrow."

She casually gets to sleep in the same bed as Julia.

And... As she goes to sleep... Cassie has a comforting hand on Julia's.

The following morning...

Cassie is looking out the motel room door.

She sees the sky is mostly cloudy. It's a Saturday.

Cassie bittersweetly smiles.

She turns back to the nighttable. She still sees a certain card reader and a stick-it note.

Jersey is awake. The girls are sleeping.

Cassie lightly concludes, "hey Jersey. Things are finally looking up."

Jersey lightly barks.

Cassie carefully closes the door.

Cassie pulls down the window curtains to let some light shine into the room.

Cassie turns on the radio unit with one hand. She is lightly petting Jersey with her other hand.

And... The song Good Enough For Me by Tiffany D. is playing from the radio.

Cassie lightly calls out, "rise and shine, girls! I got big good news to tell you."

The three girls start to wake up.

Sounding half awake... Mattie murmurs, "what is playing? Is it my prom night already?"

Cassie and Julia look amused. Anya annoyedly rolls her eyes.

A hour later...

With a smirk... Julia lightly reflects, "wow. I wish I had answers to my questions on life just come to me in a bowl of water."

Cassie, Mattie, and Anya smirk.

Cassie and Julia are sitting on one of the beds. Jersey is lying down across Cassie's lap. Mattie and Anya are sitting on the other bed.

Julia, Mattie, Anya are drinking some from the water bottles Cassie bought them.

Anya is quick to say, "oh! And welcome back Cassie. We've missed you."

Everyone chuckles a little.

Cassie tells Anya, "thank you." Anya adds, "you're welcome."

Julia and Cassie are petting Jersey. Jersey lightly howls some.

After a bit... The three girls close their water bottles for now.

Jersey sits up next to Julia.

Jersey starts to lick her face. Julia chuckles.

Julia hands her glasses over to Cassie. She lets Jersey lick her face all over.

Anya and Mattie chuckle. Cassie smiles.

After a bit... Cassie concludes, "now... I've been thinking of how to protect ourselves from Morlun's attacks. Jill told me he feeds on psychokinetic energy to live and survive."

The girls agree.

Julia has put her glasses back on. She is lightly petting Jersey with one hand.

Cassie suggests, "slowing your heart rate could give you a little more time against his psychokinetic energy draining grasps. Long enough to attack him back."

Anya remarks, "Cassie... Can't we just click our heels and say "there's no place like home"?"

Most everyone looks amused.

Cassie considers, "well... Breathing exercises and closing your eyes would help."

Julia nervously asks, "what if his grasp is too tight for one of us to get out of?"

Cassie plans out, "then I and the other two girls will try to make Morlun let go. If that doesn't go well? You could be in danger of cardiac arrest. But you can offset cardiac arrest with CPR. In our next fight with Morlun? I'll do what I can for all of us to stay alive and conscious so we can all protect each other."

They're all bittersweetly smiling now.

Soon... Cassie is teaching the girls how to do CPR.

They're all sitting on the floor. Cassie is using a pillow for CPR demonstration.

Cassie instructs, "so, you interlock your hands like this. You lock your elbows. And then you place the heel of your hand right on the sternum. And then you pump. And you want to go like two inches down. And you want to keep a rhythm like a heartbeat. Okay. You ready?"

The three girls nod.

Cassie says, "okay. Begin compressions. Go. Good."

Mattie is doing practice compressions on the pillow.

Mattie wonders, "ok. And when do I stop?"

Cassie explains, "you don't stop unless there's a good sign to. If you stop before that time? They die. If you get tired? Then you need somebody to take over."

Soon... All the girls have taken turns practicing compressions on the pillow.

Cassie grins wide. The girls are already doing well with CPR.

Mattie admits, "I've never said this before in my entire life. But... You're a good leader."

Anya and Julia also agree.

Anya and Julia puts comforting hands on Cassie's.

Cassie divulges, "well, I've been learning on the go. So... Faint chuckle. I'm surprised you girls think so."

The three girls smile wide.

Cassie concludes, "we may still have to bring Jersey home. But... I have a idea of where you girls and me can stay until we're ready for the next fight with Morlun."

Several hours later...

Cassie drives the taxi back to New York with Jersey and the girls.

They bring Jersey back to Neil. Neil thanks Cassie for looking after her.

And... Cassie drives the taxi with the girls to Ben's house.

Ben lets them inside his house.

And... Cassie explains the whole story to Ben: Including her precognitive powers.

Cassie wants herself and the girls to hide out at Ben's house for a few days to prepare for the inevitable final fight with Morlun.

Ben assures Cassie that she, the girls, and his sister Autumn can hide out from Morlun at his house for the weekend.
