"Charlie!?" A voice called through the twisting insides of the Happy hotel, the woman frowning as she hunted round the empty corridors, fox shaped ears flickering back and forth as she tried to locate the missing girl, "You home?!"
Sighing at the echoing silence that replied she headed down the stairs to the front lobby, her fox tail held high in the air, swishing back and fore as she walked. Her red eyes rolled at the note tapped to the front door. Her dark clawed hand reached out and grabbed it, tearing it down as she twisted back to the couch.
/Ellie! Gonna be on TV! Be back later!/
"Oh, Charlie." The woman sighed, letting her head fall into her right hand as she screwed up the note and lit it on fire with her right, absently glancing around for the hotels only guest but shrugging realising he must have taken the empty hotel as a sign to step out and feed his habits.
She'd warned Charlie and Vaggie it would be a terrible idea to talk to anyone about the scheme never mind the news, demons would not find their suggestion anything but stupid or try to take advantage as she fully knew their current guest was. It was a hopeless endeavour. Sinners were sinners and it was foolish to think any of them would be willing to change, hell they'd had their whole human life, and the thought of hell hadn't discouraged it. The threat of extermination would not be enough to make them change their ways.
But perhaps that was her pessimism talking, Charlie had always been quite the dreamer, she'd taken after her father if what she'd been told was anything to go off.
Lifting her head she leant back against the couch, crossing her arms over her chest as she tried not to wince at the tugging from the damage that she could already feel from her activities the night before. Ellie debated her options for a moment before sighing and snapping her fingers, the tv magically appeared before her, automatically flickering to life and onto the news. The sound of Katie Killjoy and Tom Trench nattering on filled the room, making the hotel not feel as empty as it had when she'd woken up.
"As a turf war is raging on the west side. Between notable kingpin, Sir Pentious, and self-proclaimed spunky powerhouse, Cherri Bomb."
"Pfft, I could take them, hell Charlie could." Ellie muttered as she allowed her head to fall back talks over the presenters, "Sinners these days have no idea what hell used to be like." Her eyes closed as she listened to them continuing on about the turf war for territory that opened up during the extermination that took place last night, lightly considering joining herself before pushing the thought away quickly, it wouldn't even be worth the effort.
"Coming up next, we have an exclusive interview with the daughter of Hell's own head honcho, who's here to discuss her brand-new "passion project"." Ellie's head flew up, her eyes narrowing at the tone of Katie Killjoy, "All that and more, after the BREAK! Suck it up, you little bi—"
The insult towards Tom Trench was cut off as the tv quickly flickered to break, advertisements for Vox's latest creations flashing across the screen causing Ellie to throw her head back once more a groan with annoyance. She hated tv, hated adverts, hated waiting. She was practical, loved getting her hands dirty, perhaps too much. It didn't help that Vox was very unimaginative, watching his shows felt like a new level of torture.
Before she could finish her contemplation about throwing the tv out the window, the banner for the news flashed back across the screen indicating it was about to resume. Ellie hummed and tilted her head as she watched, a small smirk coming over her face seeing Charlie appear on the screen beside the bitch Katie Killjoy.
"Welcome back!" The host cheered before turning to her guest, "So, Charlotte," Ellie's smirk tightened slightly her ears flattening a smidge.
"It's Charlie."
"Whatever. Tell us about this new passion project you've been insistently pestering our news station about!" Ellie's ears fell fully flat against her skull and her eyes narrowed as her smirk remained in place.
"Well..." Charlie began, clearing her throat, "As most of you know, I was born here in Hell and, growing up, I always tried to see the good in everything around me. Hell is my home, and you are my people." Ellie's sighed and shook her head at the girl, once again feeling Charlie was putting too much pressure on herself, caring about people that didn't deserve to see the light of day, herself included. Shaking her head, she forced herself to focus on Charlie and not Katie Killjoy who was clearly not listening to the woman, "We-- we just went through another extermination. We lost so many souls, and it breaks my heart to see my people being slaughtered every year, and no one is even given a chance! I can't stand idly by while the place I live is subjected to such violence! So, I've been thinking..." Ellie felt her smirk become more genuine once more, watching as Charlie began to get clearly nervous about her reasoning, "...isn't there a more humane way to hinder overpopulation here in Hell? Perhaps we can create an alternative way to change souls through… redemption? Well, I think yes! So that's what this project aims to achieve. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm opening the first of its kind, a hotel that rehabilitates sinners!" There was a pause, Charlie frozen in a cheer as she waited for some kind of reaction, Ellie chuckled, knowing exactly what was about to occur but trying to force back her gut reaction, "You know, 'cause hotels are for people passing through… temporarily..."
Ellie sighed and pushed herself to her feet, ears and tail perking back up automatically as she stretched out her back, trying to reign in her emotions as she continued to listen to the tv. She'd promised to try and be nice.
"I figure it would serve a purpose, a place to work towards redemption... Yay...?" Charlie paused once more, looking more and more nervous as the reaction from the studio seemed to be beyond negative, "Look, every single one of you has something good deep down inside. I - I know you do!" Charlie paused for a moment in thought before seeming to come to a realisation, "Maybe I'm not getting through to you..."
"Oh Charlie." Ellie snorted as the girl burst into song, knowing Vaggie would be completely mortified by the turn of events. Tuning the noise of Charlie's song out, Ellie moved to find herself some coffee, needing some caffeine at a minimum to get through what she was sure would be another tough afternoon, dealing with a pissed off Angel, upset Charlie and moody Vaggie once they'd returned. It was becoming a routine that was quickly getting old.
Lifting the lids off a few of the boxes they had lying around, she huffed, reaching a hand to push her blonde hair out of her face, the sound of Charlie's song slowly coming to an end filling the air. Ellie felt her annoyance growing as she failed to find anything stronger than the air she was currently breathing; her personal supply of coffee had been stolen. She was sore, sober and had no outlet for her own annoyance.
"Wow...that was shit!" A voice chortled from the television before a loud round of laughter started up.
Ellie stood up bolt straight at the sound, her eyes darkening and as a smile graced her features. Perfect.
Her afternoon had just been filled.
The fox demon hummed herself a tune as she made her way up the path towards the Happy Hotel, a light skip in her step and her tail swishing back and fore gently behind her. Her ears were perked up playfully on her head, smile unable to leave her face as she lifted her hand to the front doorknob and pushed it open. She moved to walk in, fully intending on heading back to her room but instead paused at the sight in front of her. Her head tilting in confusion at sight of a demon in a familiar red jacket being held at spear point by an annoyed looking Vaggie, with a nervous Charlie and Angel watching on.
"Alastor?"
The group inside the hotel twisted to look at the front door at the sound of Ellie's voice, staring intently at the demon in the doorway, their faces varying from amusement to anger to horror to unsurprised disinterest. Ellie offered a light wave, only to chuckle and hide her hand back behind her back as a splash of blood flew off and landed on the floor.
"Ellie what happened?!" Charlie called, worry dripping off her every word as she took in Ellie's appearance, blood up to her elbows and with splashes covering her face and hair, a few cuts visible on her face. The fox demon hummed, a smirk coming over her face as she remembered the last few glorious hours, her tail twitching in amusement.
"Just went and said hello to your reporter friends, nothing to worry about." Ellie admitted gently to the girl, before turning her head to the newest guests, one eyebrow lifting as she took in the radio demon in all his glory, "Alastor, long time no see."
"Ellie! I was wondering where you'd scampered off to!" Alastor cheered back, ignoring the scoff from Vaggie as he retreated over towards the fox demon and pulled the woman into a one-armed embrace, not at all phased by the blood. It was a short greeting before he returned his attention to the centre of the hotel, eyeing the place up as he continued to talk, "I missed your delectable presence."
"Mhmmm, I bet you ol flirt." Ellie smirked, sticking a hand on her hip as she watched the other demon closely, earning a side eyed glance between Vaggie and Charlie as they watched the older demons go back and fore, a tension filling the air, "What you here for? If you're looking for new radio guests, I'm gonna have to ask you to start elsewhere." Ellie was smiling as she spoke, but her ears had become more pinned back, tail raised more as she silently prepared to defend herself and the other souls inside the hotel if required. She knew Alastor would be a much tougher fight than the one she'd just had, and she wasn't in much shape to handle it, but she couldn't allow him to waltz in and walk all over her, even if they were long time… friends?
"Oh, no Ellie! I'm here because I want to help!" Alastor countered, his smile tensing slightly as he eyed the other demon closely, watching as she seemed to consider his words, knowing if Ellie wasn't convinced that it could easily break into a fight that would be counterproductive to his plans. After a few tense moments of staring, the fox demon's ears relaxed to their neutral position, allowing the radio demon to relax his own smile.
"Say what now?" Charlie cut in, seeing Ellie shrugging her shoulders and nod in acceptance of what the radio demon had just proclaimed, deciding it best to shelf the questions she had about Ellie's whereabouts and goings on in favour for the current demon problem.
"Help!" Alastor repeated with a chuckle, a buzz of laughter coming from the microphone as he tapped it, "Hello? is this thing on? Testing, testing."
"Well, I heard you loud and clear!" The microphone retorted earning a light chuckle from Ellie as she moved to the side and pulled one of the dust sheets off a box and wiped down her arms, her shadow moving to keep an eye on the radio demon and the group as she stood with her back to them.
"Um, you want to help with...?" Charlie trailed off her question, unsure what exactly a demon like Alastor would find so interesting about the hotel. The red demon smiled, popping up between Vaggie and Charlie, pulling them close.
"This ridiculous thing you're trying to do; this hotel! I want to help you run it." Alastor explained to the pair, his own shadow moving towards Ellie's, the two popping up around the room, almost playing a game of chase making the fox chuckle as she turned to lean against the closest box, wiping blood from behind her ears.
"But... why?" Charlie continued, not noticing the two older demon's shadows as she focused on Alastor.
"Hahaha! Why does anyone do anything? Sheer, Absolute BOREDOM! I've lacked inspiration for decades. My work became mundane, lacking focus..." Alastor explained, leaning on top of Vaggie before pushing the girl out the way, his shadow retreating to join him as Ellie recalled hers, turning to watch the Radio Demon as he spoke, "Aimless!" He pushed Vaggie away as he continued his explanation, "I've come to crave a NEW form of entertainment! Hahaha!"
"Does getting into a fist fight with a reporter count as entertainment?" Charlie muttered, brushing her hair back, appearing somewhat embarrassed about her actions.
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about that," Ellie hummed, glancing down at her hands, making her claws come out, "I can assure you the news will be rather… captivated by their newest story."
"What did you do Ellie?" Vaggie accused quietly, Ellie waving her off as Alastor laughed.
"Ha-ha-ha! It's the purest kind, my dear. REALITY! TRUE PASSION! After all, the world is a stage, and the stage is a world of entertainment!" Alastor explained to Charlie who seemed captivated by the deer themed demon. Ellie tilted her head as she watched her old friend, dropping the blood-stained cloth onto the box and crossing her arms as she continued to listen, seeing no harm in Alastor remaining since he'd yet to hurt anyone and he didn't seem in the mood for a fight.
" ...So, does this mean that you think it's POSSIBLE to rehabilitate a demon?" Charlie asked, making both Ellie and Alastor start to laugh.
"Of course not!" Alastor cut in, "That's wacky nonsense. Redemption... oh, the non-existent humanity! No no no no... I don't think there's anything left that could save such loathsome sinners. The chance given was the life they lived before; the punishment is THIS!" He turned and threw his arms out dramatically to emphasise his point, "There is no undoing what is done."
"So then why do you want to help me if you don't believe in my cause?" Charlie questioned, Ellie humming and eyeing the radio demon as he seemed to pause for a moment before twisting back to answer.
"Consider it an investment in ongoing entertainment for myself!" Alastor explained before pulling Charlie in for a one-armed hug, "I want to watch the scum of the world struggle to climb up the hill of betterment, only to repeatedly trip and tumble down into the fiery pit of failure..." Alastor twirled the girl round as he played music, the remainder of the group watching on. Ellie cast a look over at Vaggie and couldn't help but join Angel in a smirk at the anger written across her face.
"Rrrrright..." Charlie responded uneasily, removing Alastor's hand from her shoulder.
"Yes, indeedy! I see big things coming your way, and who better to help you than I?" Alastor continued, pulling the girl off to discuss his plans. Ellie shook his head at him, sending her shadow out once more as she pushed herself up to her feet, moving past the pair as she went to grab a popsicle from the box that Angel must have left out.
"Hope you aren't trying to push me out Al," she commented absently smirking at the pair.
"Wouldn't dream of it, Ellie." Alastor cheered back before jumping back to where he was with Charlie.
Ellie stuck the popsicle in her mouth as she walked away, her shadow back dodging Alastor's as it watched over the pair for her. A smile rested over her face as she felt Alastor's shadow twirl her own, knowing he was trying to distract her but not allowing it. She trusted him not to kill them, but she wasn't a fool. Ellie knew Alastor had more motives for turning up out the blue, but she just couldn't find it in her to care at the moment, she was exhausted after her fights and the extra support from Alastor would make her life easier.
"I-so uh what's the deal with Smiles over there?" Angel asked, looking up at Ellie as she came over to the couch. Ellie lifted an eyebrow, one ear poking straight up as the other sat naturally.
"Wait, you've never heard of him before?" Vaggie cut in before Ellie could respond, sounding flabbergasted, "You've been here longer than me. The Radio Demon? One of the most powerful beings Hell has ever seen?"
"Don't say that too loud, Al's ego is big enough as it is." Ellie huffed out as Angel shrugged his shoulders, glancing between the two women with confusion.
"Eh, not big on politics." Vaggie rolled her eyes at the spider's response.
"Ugh." She huffed out before diving into the story, "Decades ago, Alastor manifested in Hell. Seemingly overnight, he began to topple overlords who had been dominant for centuries. That kind of raw power had never been harnessed by a mortal soul before! Then, he broadcast his carnage all throughout Hell, just so everyone could witness his ability! Sinners started calling him "The Radio Demon"... as lazy as that is. Many have speculated what unimaginable force enabled him to rival our world's most ancient and destructive evils. But one thing's for sure. He's an unpredictable source of danger, a wicked spirit of mystery, and a violent monster of chaos, the likes of which we can't risk getting involved with, unless we want to end up ERASED."
"Ya done?" Angel cut in seeing Ellie biting her lip to hold in her laughter, "He looks like a strawberry pimp!" That sent the fox over the edge, a cackle escaping her mouth before she forced herself to sober, glancing over the two younger sinners before her as she disintegrated the remainder of her popsicle by conjuring a flame in her hands.
"I'll accept that Alastor is a very powerful demon, certainly a rival to my own power." Ellie started, nodding her head as she waved the fire out, "I've known him for years, he's always been a bit of a… character? Doesn't take no for an answer. Those other overlords were foolish, got too big for their boots and bit off more than they could chew. Alastor was smart, took advantage of that." Ellie hummed, glancing over her shoulder at the Radio demon, reminiscing for a moment, "He's not here to cause any harm and, well, I always loved his broadcast."
"Heh, you would." Angel snorted.
"Well, I don't trust him." Vaggie cut in, glaring at the older fox demon who smirked and shrugged her shoulder, uncaring if the girl disagreed with her.
"To be fair, do you trust any man?Any men? Men?" Angel pointed out, making Vaggie growl with annoyance before she pushed herself up to go talk to her girlfriend. Ellie hummed and walked over to stand beside Alastor, allowing the two girls to whisper.
The radio demon narrowed his eyes slightly as Ellie came over and stood beside him but didn't immediately look at her, the pair stood silently staring at the Morningstar family portrait. Ellie hummed lightly as she glanced out the corner of her eye at Alastor, taking in the demon she'd known for years, sensing something different about him. Their shadows continued to dance around the room, both trying to figure the other out and in truth enjoying the light challenge posed by the other. It wasn't often overlords got to play.
Eventually Ellie's shadow began to slow, getting tagged gently by Alastor's. The fox demons' ear twitched lightly at the contact as she tried to hold in a small wince of pain, not wanting to give away any signs of weakness, however Alastor caught sight of the twitch and his smile tightened slightly, curiosity burning inside him as he wondered what had caused his… friend to react that way.
"Okay... so, Al," Charlie began, drawing both overlords' attention to her, "you're sketchy as fuck, and you clearly see what I'm trying to do here as a joke, like Ellie." Both demon's smiles tightened slightly, "But I don't. I think everyone deserves a chance to prove they can be better, so I'm taking your offer to help. On the condition that there be no... tricks or voodoo strings attached." Charlie finished, Alastor hummed for a moment before flipping his cane and holding out his hand, Ellie's ears instantly pinning back, tail lifting and twitching with agitation as she crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at the radio demon.
"So it's a deal then?" The filtered voice of Alastor questioned the eerie green glow of a deal filling the room. Charlie glanced at Ellie who huffed out a half growl, looking like she was about to try and take on the demon.
"Nope! No shaking. No deals. I... hmm..." Charlie paused, pushing Alastor's hand away, making the glow disappear and Ellie relax slightly even as her ears and tail remained in their unhappy position, "As Princess of Hell, and heir to the throne, I-uh, hereby order that you both help with this hotel... for as long as you desire." There was an awkward pause, both Alastor and Ellie staring at the nervous princess with a raised eyebrow the tension forgotten at the rather weak order, "Sound fair?"
"Hmm..." Alastor cast a look at Ellie, considering her reaction before nodding his agreement, "Fair enough."
"Cool beans..." Charlie breathed out before glancing over at Ellie expectantly who frowned.
"I am helping." Charlie seemed to debate something for a second before gestured to the bloody dust sheet as Alastor moved away to glance around the lobby some more, "That was me helping."
"Ellie, you can't kill people who are being mean to me." Charlie reminded her gently, the woman lifted an eyebrow, a confused frown over her face.
"Uh, yes I can… I just did, about an hour ago." A dark grin came over her face as her tail and ears once again perked up, "and it was beautiful!" Charlie winced at Alastor's delighted laughter. Vaggie came over to her girlfriend and glared at the fox.
"You're not supposed to, we didn't ask you to, we agreed..." Vaggie started to huff out, irritation biting at every word before Ellie cut her off, rolling her eyes.
"We agreed to nothing," She snapped, her own eyes glowing as Alastor's had moments ago, "I'm here to offer guidance, whatever Charlie does with my information is up to her. I will still act how I see fit, and while I'm working with you, I won't allow slander of my business partners." Ellie sighed, blinking her eyes back seeing she had the two girls' attention, "Having Alastor on board would be wise, while I have the knowledge, he has the connections."
"But… You're older than him." Charlie questioned quietly, letting the point of the bloodshed slide, understanding it was Ellie's way of protecting them. The fox demon chuckled, tilting her head and forcing her ears to sit more neutrally.
"Too old for those overlord meetings, and a lot of them are up and comers. Probably wouldn't know Alastor if he wasn't so polite and decided to introduce himself before he tried to kill you." Ellie's answered, with a half shrug smiling over at the other overlord with something akin to affection. Alastor waved her off.
"Come now Ellie, you threatened me first." Ellie chuckled, her ears and tail flickering back and forth once more at the familiar banter, Vaggie and Charlie watching on as their normally temper prone companion seemed to smile easily at the reminder.
"You did kill my only business partner," Ellie reminded him, before humming in thought, tilting her head back with a chuckle, "But even I can admit, it wasn't a loss, as you said, he was holding me back… and that broadcast was exquisite!"
"I think I'm gonna hurl." Angel cut in, seeing the old pair seeming to flirt back and fore. Ellie snorted and shook her head, backing up to sit on the couch, her tail and ears twitching as she sat down. Alastor continued to smile as he walked around, humming under his breath as he moved, his shadow observing Ellie closely as the fox overlord let out a huff. It was clear to the radio demon that the woman wasn't quite as fighting fit as she'd have the others believe. Seeing Ellie's eyes narrow in on his shadow he quickly averted his attention back to the others, his gaze narrowing in on the near growling sinner stood near Charlie.
"Smile, my dear!" Alastor called to Vaggie, coming over and lifting her cheeks into a smile, "You know you're never fully dressed without one!" Ellie shook his head at him, smirk never leaving her face as he continued to circle the hotel, the others watching the man closely too as he seemed enthralled by the décor. Eventually he returned to Charlie, "So where is your hotel staff?"
"Uh... well..." Charlie stuttered out, glancing at Vaggie who glared at the radio demon with immense annoyance, then Ellie who let out a light chuckle and glanced over at Alastor with a half shrug.
"Ho-ho-ho, you're going to need more than that." Alastor chuckled, moving over to the only person in the room he'd yet to interact with, Ellie's amusement growing tenfold, knowing what would be coming, "And what can you do, my effeminate fellow?"
"I can suck ya dick." Ellie let out a loud laugh at Angels response as Alastor seemed to short circuit for a moment before recollecting himself.
"HA!" The radio demon spurted out, recovering quicker than Ellie had expected, "NO!"
"Heh, your loss." Angel shrugged shooting the fox a wink as her own laughter died down, Alastor casting the woman a look of mild amusement at her reaction before he settled on Charlie who watched on nervously.
"Well, this just won't do! I suppose I can cash in a few favours to liven things up." Alastor snapped his fingers, causing a portal to form in the fireplace, Ellie tilted her head and got to her feet, ears and tail flickering with curiosity at the sound as Vaggie, Charlie and Angel took a cautious step back as a black mass began to form. Alastor joined Ellie at the fireplace, reaching a hand in and pulling out the black lump, which quickly puffed away leaving a little cyclops in the radio demons hand.
"This little darling is Niffty!" Alastor introduced before dropping the woman who elegantly landed on her feet. Ellie eyed Alastor with suspicion before focusing on the newest addition.
"Hi, I'm Niffty, It's nice to meet you. It's been a while since I've made new friends... Why are you all women? Have any men here?! I'm sorry if that's rude. Oh man! This place is filthy! It really needs a lady's touch, which is weird because you're all ladies, no offence. Ohmigosh, this is awful! Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. NOPE." Nifty rambled as she buzzed around the room, the group unable to get a word out to respond before the woman was flying around dusting away cobwebs and killing beetles around the room. Ellie's ears and tails fell back slightly.
"The hell? What the fuck is this?" A voiced called from the portal, dragging all the attention back to the fireplace. Ellie's eyes widened at the sight of Husker, her eyes flickering back and forth between the radio demon and the cat who was looking around with confusion as himself and a portion of the bar he'd been in had been transported somewhere. A twisted sense of amusement filled her, a knowing smile settling my on her lips as she eyed the cat. Huskers eyes narrowed as he glared over at Alastor, "YOU!"
"Ah! Husker, my good friend, glad you could make it!" Alastor greeted, smiling wider at the annoyance over the cat demons face and amusement over Ellie's.
"Don't you "Husker" me, you son of a bitch. I was about to win the whole damn POT!" Husker answered, gesturing back to pile of money that soon faded back to wherever it had come from.
"Good to see you too." Alastor continued, his and Ellie's amusement growing at the growing annoyance from the cat demon. Husker slammed his clawed hand into his face, knowing there was no way he could get out of it but exasperated all the same.
"What the hell do you want with me this time?" Husker questioned, Alastor moving closer and pulling the gambler into a one-armed embrace.
"My friend, I am doing some charity works, so I took it upon myself to volunteer your services! I hope that's okay." The radio demon explained, clearly uncaring as to whether the cat agreed or not.
"Are you shittin' me?" Husker cut back, anger dripping from every word.
"Hmm. No, I don't think so." Alastor replied, a laugh track coming out his microphone at his response as Husker pushed the demon away.
"You thought it would be some kinda big fuckin' riot just to pull me outta nowhere? You think I'm some kind of fuckin' clown?!" Husker questioned. Alastor hummed briefly, him and Ellie sharing a smirk of amusement before glancing back at the cat.
"Maybe!"
"Come on Husky, it'll be fun." Ellie added teasingly, knowing the ex-overlord had no choice. She crossed her arms over her chest and raised an eyebrow as Husker turned his glare on her.
"I ain't doin' no fuckin' charity job."
"Well, I figured you would be the perfect face to man the front desk of this fine establishment!" Alastor cut in seeing Husker about to dig in on Ellie, "With your charming smile and welcoming energy, this job was made for you!" Alistor moved back over to the bar top that had once been the concierge desk, a sly look on his face "Don't worry, my friend. I can make this more welcoming... if you wish." Ellie smirked, shaking her head as Alastor lifted his hand.
"Oh, please Alastor, allow me!" Ellie cut in with a wink to Husker as she snapped her own fingers, a bottle of cheap booze appearing on the countertop.
"What? You think you can buy me with a wink and some cheap booze?!" Husker bit out, glaring at the fox demon before his eyes drifted over to the bottle, a brief argument seeming to go on in his head before he nodded, "Well, you can!" Ellie and Alastor watched with amusement as the cat moved behind the new bar, downing the bottle. Vaggie shook her head, pointing angrily at Ellie.
"Hey! hey! Hey-hey-hey! No, no bar! No alcohol." She ordered before walking back and flapping around the bar, dramatically waving her arms around to indicate her displeasure as she continued, "This is supposed to be place that DISCOURAGES sin! Not some kind of now-brothel... man cave…" Ellie rolled her eyes as Angel instantly tackled the other sinner, moving over to the bar and pouring herself a drink as Husker continued to down his bottle.
"Shut up! SHUT! UP! We are keeping this." Angel cut in, glaring down at Vaggie for daring to open her mouth about it Alistor's newest addition to the hotel. His attention quickly turned to the newest addition, a flirtatious smile gracing his lips, "Hey." Husker glanced questioningly at Ellie who snorted and shook her head before turning to lean her back against the counter.
"Go fuck yourself." Husk bit back, now understanding the spider had indeed been talking to him. Angel hummed, moving closer to the cat and lifting his arms to almost try and cuddle him.
"Only if you watch me…" Husker pushed the horny sinner off, only getting a second to breath before Charlie had pounced over.
"Oh my gosh! Welcome to the Happy Hotel! You are going to LOVE IT HERE!"
"I lost the ability to love years ago." Husker huffed back, picking back up his bottle as Ellie smiled at the girl's enthusiasm.
"So, what do you think?" Alastor cut in, Ellie and Charlie turning their attention to him.
"This is amazing!" Charlie cheered to the demon who looked bemused by the girl. Alastor moved his attention to the only one who'd argued.
"It's... okay." Vaggie added uneasily.
Charlie smiled at her girlfriend beige suddenly twisting around and glancing back at the fox demon, "What do you think Ellie?" Ellie tilted her head, eyeing up Alastor whose smile tightened at the appraising glance.
"I think I've got some competition." Ellie began, her tail flickering with amusement before she turned her attention back to Charlie, "I don't have anyone on my books who could offer assistance I'm afraid."
"Oh, no, I didn't mean it like that," Charlie stuttered out as Ellie hummed and looked away, her mind going over her owned souls.
"I've got a few killers, few witches, few thief's…" Ellie continued to hum ignoring the muttering from Charlie that she didn't need to go on, that it was ok, "Most of mine offer souls in place of death, and even than that doesn't always save them, buys them a few minutes of false hope... before I rip their soul apart." Alastor laughter was the only response, the rest stared at her with a hint of fear. Ellie shook her head, looking back over the group and tilting her head, "Too much?"
"A little." Charlie muttered.
"Hahaha! This is going to be very entertaining!" Alastor cheered, pulling Vaggie and Charlie close before pushing the agitated girl away and twirling Charlie. Clicking his fingers, the sound of jazz music quickly filled the room as he began to sing.
You have a dream,
You wish to tell,
And it's just laughable,
But hey, kid, what the hell!
Ellie rolled her eyes as her clothes were replaced with those from the 1920s, clicking her own fingers and disappearing across the room with a smirk to avoid the majority of Alastor's magic that moved to push around the residents of the hotel, her tail flickering from side to side in beat to the music.
'Cause you're one of a kind,
A charming demon belle!
Now, let's give these burning fools a place to dwell!
Take it, boys!
Alastor came over to Angel and Husk, pressing down on their hats as he sang. Ellie let out a laugh as Alastor's shadow came over and bowed over the top to her own, she released hers, the two twirling around the room as Alastor appeared beside her, twirling her once gently before disappearing once more towards Charlie.
Inside of every demon is a lost cause,
But we'll dress 'em up for now with just a smile!
And we'll chlorinate this cesspool
with some old redemption flair,
And show these simpletons some proper class and style!
CLASS AND STYLE!
Ellie's shadow returned to her, the demon shaking her head as she clicked her fingers and instantly appeared at the top of the stairs, leaning against the barrier as she watched the group.
Oh!
Here below the ground,
I'm sure your plan is sound!
They'll spend a little time~
Down at this Hazbin Ho-
The huge boom of the wall being blown up cut off Alastor's song. The music died down and their clothing returned to normal. Ellie's ears flattened against her skull, her tail twitching back and fore as she made her way down the stairs towards the hole, Alastor coming to stand beside her as they both exited the building, heading out to see who had decided it wise to attack a building with them inside.
Outside hovering over the happy hotel was a blimp, the snake like form of Sir Pentious hanging out as he looked over the cohort of demons that exited the building he'd decided to blow up.
"Ha! Well, well, well. Look who it is harbouring the striped freak! We meet yet again, Alastor!" Sir Pentious called down. Ellie glanced over at the radio demon, her ears and eyebrows lifting with curiosity to which she got a half shrug in return.
"Do I know you?" Alastor called up.
"OH, yes you do! And this time, I have the element of... surprise!" The snake demon called down, cackling as he unleashed some sort of ray gun. Ellie sighed, rolling her neck slightly when Alastor lifted his hand.
"Allow me old friend." He offered her, seeing the silent hesitation in the woman's actions.
Ellie seemed to debate it for a moment before sighing and nodding her head, gesturing with a hand for him to take the lead. At the silent offer, Alastor's signature smile widened, and he quickly clicked his fingers opening up a huge portal. Ellie hummed with amusement, watching with interest as tentacles extended from the portal and began attacking the blimp that had damaged the hotel. Her smile widened at the sound of the screams, the two overlords taking great delight to the sound of pain while the remainder of the group looked on with a hint of fear. Eventually Alastor clenched his fists, the blimp being smashed to pieces, sending debris everywhere. Ellie offered a small applause, Alastor chuckling and mock bowing in her direction. It was a few moments before the overlords remembered about the rest of the group, sharing one last amused glance before turning back to them.
"...Well, I'm starved! Who wants some jambalaya? My mother once showed me a wonderful recipe for jambalaya! In fact, it nearly killed her! Ha-ha-ha! You could say the kick was right out of Hell!" Ellie burst into laughter at the pun, Alastor smiling at her as he led the group off back toward the hotel, "Oh-hoho, I'm on a roll! Yes sir, this is the start of some real changes down here! The game is set.
Now... STAY TUNED."
