Madeline The Singing Dog & Sister

; In an old house in paris, that was covered with vines,

"Bravo, Genevieve Marie! Allors-y!" Riley said

; lived thirteen little girls in two straight lines. They left the house at half past nine in two straight lines . in rain (thunder) or shine .the oldest of the twine was Riley, and the smallest one was Madeline. One day while the girls were playing outside, Miss Clavel went out and check the mail, the teacher cried with delight when she found a letter in gold and white, inviting theme all to the opera that night.

Miss Clavel had been hoping to take the girls to Les opera even since the girls has danced ballet on stage. after dinner that night, Miss Clavel told the girls about the letter.

"Little girls, this is from Lord Cucuface. He thinks you will learn a lot at the Opera, but most of all, you will have fun!" Miss Clavel said

"Hooray! Hooray! We are going to les Opera!" All the girls shouted,

Madeline said, "Miss Clavel, what is les Opera?"

Miss Clavel said, "Madeline, the Opera tells a story with beautiful music and singing, and everybody dresses up."

Chloe said, "I will wear my party dress."

Danielle said, "And I will wear my new shoes."

Nicole said, "And I will wear a ribbon in my hair."

Riley said I will wear my favorite blue dress

(Genevie Maire Barking)

: And so, that night they all got dressed, Each of them eager to look her best.

[Grr]

: Before long, it was time to leave for all the girls...

Genieve Barked Making Madeline turn around and look at her pet.

Madeline said, Aw, do not worry; I haven't forgotten you."

: And Genevie Maire as she placed a green ribbon on Genevieve Marie's head with binoculars hanging down.

(Genevieve bows wow.)

Miss Clavel however wasn't pleased. "But what is this? A dog cannot go to the Opera, not even Genevieve Marie."

(Genevieve whine)

All the girls said, "S'il te plaît, Miss Clavel! Please, she will be so lonely without us!"

Riley said, Besides the fact that Genevieve Marie loves beautiful singing, she is a singer herself."

Madeline giggled Riley, you are a singer too!"

Riley said oui that's true Maddie.

Miss Clavel sighed as she knew this may not go very well.

Miss Clavel sighed and said, "Very well, come along then, Genevieve Marie."

(Genevieve woof)

: They took a lovely taxi ride, and they all got out and walked inside.

The man said, "I'm sorry, but the dog will have to remain outside."

Madeline said, "But this dog has perfect behavior."

All 13 girls said, "That's true; she is perfect; she will not misbehave!"

The man look sternly at Genieve Marie as he said, "We cannot have any barking during the opera."

Miss Clavel said, "Do not worry; I can assure you that Genevieve Marie will not bark."

The man said, "And she had better not whine!"

Miss Clavel said, Monsieur, if you let Genevieve Marie in, I personally guarantee that she will not make a peep."

The man said, "Very well, but if there is the tiniest little dog noise, she will be thrown out in an instant!"

Madeline and Riley where thinking that this man was very rude.

Miss Clavel said, "Merci Monsieur."

: Miss Clave then called theme to attention. there were some things she had to mention. she said, be quite as a mouse."

Miss Clavel "Shh, whisper. Only singers should be heard in an Opera house."

All the girls said, "We will be very quiet, Miss Clavel, we promise."

(Genevieve Ruff)

The girls found their seats and after getting settled they waited for the show to begin.

: at that the opera house lights grew dim. the girls did not speak and their dog did not bark. while they sat there in a row.

(Sining in Italian)

: The Baritone almost stole the show...

loudly singing.

Breton: Figaro Figaro Figaro Figaro Figaro

The music was so beautiful that Riley and Genieve Marie completely forgot about being quiet.

Genevieve Marie barked and Riley started to sing. "Figaro, Figaro, Figaro"

The audience Gasped and looked at the group of girls their faces shocked as they were giving stern looks to Genieve Marie and Riley.

: Everyone looked, but none could believer that singing along were Genevieve Maire and Riley, and right away they were asked to leave."

Miss clavel shook her head as she knew that something was going to go wrong.

On the walk home.

Riley said, "Did I do something wrong? Maddie, Lulu, Yvette?"

Madeline turned and looked at her sister sadly but didn't say a thing to her.

Chloe said, I've never been so embarrassed twice in my whole life!"

Nicole said, "Moi aussi."

Danielle said, "Me too."

Even Miss Clavel said, "I agree, little girls, Genevieve Marie was a very naughty dog."

When the girls got home, they went inside, Genieve Marie followed them only to be stopped by Miss Clavel.

: Miss Clavel said...

Miss Clavel said, "Genevieve Marie, you did not behave right, so you must sleep outside tonight!"

The twins peaked around Miss Clavel hoping to make things alright

Madeline said, "But Miss Cl- hmm..."

Madeline stopped talking because she saw that Look that their teacher had on her face, was the look of. "I don't want to hear it.

Genevieve Marie whimpered.

: and she walked in the house and turned off the light. Miss Clavel turn around to Riley Next.

Miss Clavel said, in a gentle but scolding tone, Riley, hold it right there, young lady; you can sleep in the Guest room tonight. You weren't listening to me when I told you girls to quiet"

Riley was shocked as she look down at the ground sadly. However the older twin said, Yes, but..."

Miss Clavel said, No, but, Riley, I will see you in the morning. Good night."

: a few tear ran down Riley's face as she went upstairs alone and brush her teeth, and get into bed and tried to fall asleep but she just tossed and turned. then sitting up in bed.

Riley said, "I don't see why Miss Clavel got so upset; it was just one song!"

Riley got out of bed and walked out of the gust room and went downstairs and open the back door and walked to where Genevieve was laying in her dog house sadly, Riley sat down next her and Madeline beloved pet.

Riley said "It's alright, Genevieve Marie; I am here now."

: Riley then thought to herself how it would be cool to be a star and sing in front of an large audience. and with that. Riley stared to sing while Genevieve Marie barked along. But before long, an impresario who was looking for more singers heard Riley and Genevieve singing Figaro. the man smiled and walked over to the little girl and her dog.

He said... I've never heard of a child let alone a little girl and a dog, sing so well.

The man made up his mind.

He said, you two are what I have been looking for "Come I will help you both; come, let's go."

Genevieve Marie knew this wasn't right and shook her head no. and laid on Riley's lap.

Riley said, Sorry, we don't go with strangers."

The man named Impresario said, "The little girls and your teacher don't want you both anymore; look how they made you both sleep outside!"

Riley stammered and said, "No, you are mistaken, sir you see I only…!

Impresario just ignored Riley's remarks and said, come, my two new stars; I have a bed for you both."

Riley said, Well,I've always wanted to be a star, and I guess a little walk won't hurt; come on, Genevieve Marie."

The two of them then follower the man away from the old house.

: The next morning, Madeline came into the gust room and look around. thinking that Riley must have gone to keep Genevieve company, the small girl went downstair and walking to the backyard. Madeline looks around the backyard and called,

"Genevieve Marie, Riley it's time for breakfast; where are you two?"

: But Genevieve and Riley couldn't be found.

Madeline hurried back inside the house and joined her friends at the table for Breakfast. Howeven the small wound't eat. Miss Clavel look at her small student and got a little worried at seeing that her smallest student wasn't eating.

"Madeline, aren't you hungry? Miss Clavel asked.

Madeline shook her head and pushed her plate away and look at Miss Clavel telling her what happend. after breakfast all 12 girls ran outside calling, "Here Genevieve Marie, here Genevieve Marie, here Genevieve Marie, here Genevieve Marie!" Genevieve Marie! Genevieve Marie! Genevieve Marie!

Madeline said, "Come on, Riley and Genevieve Marie, no more hiding you got us!"

The other girls said, "We are sorry we made you sleep outside, Genevieve!"

Miss Clavel said, "Riley and Genevieve wouldn't just wander off, oh dear.

Their teacher then had a bad thought to herself. I wonder if I was too hard on them both? Sighing Miss Clavel said "Come along girls we will ask our neighbors if any of them have seen Genieve Marie and Riley.

Madeline only nodded.

: with the help of their friends Steven and Pepito, they started searching high

Madeline said, "Genevieve Marie! Riley! Ou es tu?

Pepito said, "Genevieve! Riley! Donde ESTA?

: and low.

Danielle, Anna, and Sylvie said, "Genevieve Marie! Riley! Where are you?" while asking neighbors they saw while walking.

Steven, Pepito, and the 11 girls said, Here, Genevieve Marie and Riley!"

; and everywhere they thought Genevieve and Riley might go. after about a few hour of searching the girls went back home sadly, as the group sat in the backyard thinking of what else to do.

Chloe said, "We will never find Genevieve Marie and Riley."

: Then Madeline had an Idea up her sleeve.

Madeline said, "I have a formidable Idea!"

: They would put up sign about Genevieve Maire and Riley.

All 11 girls! Yes, what wonderful ideas, Madeline!

The girls, Steven and Pepito hurried inside and telling Miss Clavel about the idea, their teacher got out the paints and paper. The whole day the group made signs hoping that they would help find their missing dog and friend.

Miss Clavel said, Madeline, this is very good."

Madeline looked at her teacher and said "Merci Miss Clavel I just hope they help find Riley and Genieve Marie.

The sign said "Chien perdu and a fille" "DANTON 10-8"

After the sighs where made, the group than walked around town putting up the signs it took many hours.

: they were tried from there efforts and was about to give up.

Madeline said, "S'il te plaît, Pepito! Help me put just one more!"

Madeline then saw a sign on a fence which made her gasp "Oh la la!"

: when at last they found their favorite pup and girl,

Madeline said "It said incomparable!" "Opera Singer, Dog, and Girl on stage tonight!"

All the girls said, "It must be Genevieve Marie and Riley!"

Madeline said, "Mais Oui! Who else could it be?"

Madeline grabbed the sign off the fence and hurried to show Miss Clavel.

Madeline said, Regardé, Miss Clavel! It is Genevieve Marie and Riley!"

Miss Clavel read the flier and with a smile said, "So it is mes petites!"

: Genevieve Maire and Riley were singing in a cabaret. "We must bring them home!" said the girls right away.

"Please Miss Clavel?" Madeline asked almost begging. Miss Clavel nodded and bought the tickets right on the spot.

That evening the 12 girls hurried quickly to where the show was being held.

Madeline and the girls went inside when the were stopped by a guard.

Madeline said excuse moi Monsieur, we are here for our dog Genevieve Marie and my sister Riley" we must see them.

The man guard only laughed Ho ho, Miss Riley and Genevieve will be out soon, now please quickly take your seats.

Madeline and her friends sighed but sat down in their seats and waited for the show to begin.

a guard. "Madame and Monsieur. I am happy to present the ballet-dancing swans, Gigi and Louise!"

: While the two ballet dancers performed Madeline couldn't wait an instant long, so she slipped away to Riley and Genevieve Maire door.

Madeline was about to knock on the door when she was stopped by the man who has taken Riley&Geneivevie Marie.

Madeline gasp "Un excuse moi, I have come to get my dog Genevieve Marie and my sister Riley."

: The Impresario look at Madeline...

Impresario said "The dog is you, and you look like your sister. She did tell me that she had a twin sister and while that may be true, they will not go home with you."

Madeline was shocked at what the Impresario had told her.

Madeline said, "But of course they will. I love my sister, and my sister loves me, and Genevieve Marie loves us both, really!"

Impresario shook his head and said, "Despite what you say, Riley and Genevieve Marie will not go." he led Madeline back outside.

"But sir." Madeline started to say.

but Impresario just closed the door.

Madeline huffed and went back inside and sat back down in her seat.

When the first act ended, it was time for an Intermission. during that time Madeline told her friends what had happend.

: Madeline and her friends did not agree with what the Impresario had said about Riley and Genevieve Marie. so they all want backstage, and before they walked far they came to a door with a shining star.

Danielle said, "Look, this must be Riley and Genevieve Marie's dressing room!"

Madeline said, Well, what are you waiting for? Let us go in!"

Dainelle smiled and opened the door and the group look inside the room, they were shocked to see Genevieve Marie and Riley surrounded by many reports.

All the girls "Oh la la!"

Riley said, Why, thank you very much; yes, it is a wish come true."

Pepito said, "Ay ay."

Steven whistled, Man, Riley looks cute in that dress!"

Madeline said, "Riley and Genevieve Marie, oh Riley and Genevieve Marie, he said you wouldn't come home with us."

Riley and Genevieve Marie only smiled at the group.

Pepito said, "Now we know why."

All except Madeline and Steven. "The girls and Pepito said, Goodbye, Genevieve Marie, and Riley! We will never forget you two!"

Steven said, "Call me Riley, please."

Riley winked at Steven and blow him a Kiss

Steven smiled.

: they thought it all was sad. they felt it wrong to lever until they heard Riley and Genevieve Marie song, the group went back to their seats and the second act soon began.

The man said, "Ho ho And now, Mesdames and Messieurs, the stars of the show… Miss Riley and Genevieve Marie!"

The audience cheered

: Riley and Genevieve Marie give a remarkable show, but the girls were still sad when it was time to go.

Miss Clavel said, Come, little girls, it is late and we must go home!"

The girls along with Steven and Pepito walked out of the building.

Mewhile in the dressing room.

All the woman and man had crowded around the young girl and her dog.

Riley, and Genevieve Marie quickly looked over their shoulders at the window and smiled.

Miss Clavel gasped and said "My word Genieve Marie and Riley are very popular.

a man said, May I have your Autograph?

Riley said sure you can.

Jack said Riley, and Genevieve Marie S'il te plaît,

1st Woman said, Oh, this is for mine, little girl.

The second woman said, Oh, make it to me.

All the girls said, Bye, Genevieve Marie, and Riley! We love you both!"

Miss Clavel said, "I know you are all very sad little girls, but anytime you want to see Genevieve Marie and Riley, you can come here."

The group of Children nod. Madeline didn't follow them thought. the small girl just watched from the window sad tears rolling down her face.

: they all stared home at a quarter to nine when Miss Clavel said?

Miss Clavel said, "Where is Madeline?"

As the group hurried back to where Madeline was,

; Madeline there was no denying, Was standing by the window spying. as the people walked out of the dressing now. Madeline gasped as she watch her sister throw away the flowers and other gift she had received.

(Genevieve Marie Whining)

Riley said, "Don't cry, Genevieve Marie. I know you miss home; I do too, but we can't leave without that man catching us. Oh, what was I thinking? I should have made noise last night." Then she and Genevieve Marie started to cry.

Miss Clavel had then come up behind Madeline and the teacher placed her hand on the Madeline's shoulder.

Madeline said, Ah."

Miss Clavel said, "Madeline Allonez! We must go home now!"

Madeline said, "But I cannot go yet, Miss Clavel."

Miss Clavel said, "And why not?"

Madeline said, "Because, because, because I wanted to play a game of catch! Madeline took a small ball from her pocket and called Catch Pepito!"

Nicole said, "Throw the ball to me!"

Chloe said, No, me!"

(Genevieve Marie hurried to the window)

: But Madeline, being Cleve and versatile, had a plan.

Madeline said, "Pepito, throw it here!"

; And in awhile she was able to make dear Genevieve Maire smile.

Riley said, Alright, Genevieve Marie, I will open the window."

Madeline Caught the Ball" in her hat. "Merci" as she threw the ball to Riley.

Steven said, "Good catch, Riley!"

(All the girls Yay yaya yay.

: Then Miss Clavel said...

Miss Clavel said, "It is time to leave!"

: And they say goodnight to Riley and Genevieve Maire.

All the girls, Steven and Pepito, said, Goodnight, Genevieve Marie and Riley! We will miss you both!"

Madeline begged oh please, Miss Clavel let me stay a minute more.

Miss Clavel said je regret Madeline but it's really late and time for you to go to bed.

Madeline sighed as tears fell down her cheeks once more.

: as they walked into the night, the girls were not a happy sigh. without their dog and Riley, nothing seemed right.

Miss Clavel said, "Do not cry, Madeline Girls boys Riley and Genevieve have a good life, the life of a star."

Madeline said, "But they were our stars, and I love them so much." It won't be the same without my sister by my side.

All the girls said, "Moi aussi, we love Riley and Genevieve; we will always love you."

(Riley looked back of the window.)

: Suddenly Riley and Genevieve could see that they were loved so totally that home was the only place to be. she and Genevieve Marie then snuck out the of the window!

"Hey wait for us." Riley called

Madeline turned around, and shouted, "Riley! You are back!"

Madeline ran to her sister and the two of them hugged each other tightly.

Riley said, "I missed you, Maddie! Come, let's go home.

Miss Clavel Came over and hugged Riley as well, and said "We are so glad you have decided to come back.

Chole said but won't you miss being a star and getting so many gifts?

Riley nodded and said "Oui being a star is awesome but there is really no place like home."

Miss Clavel said oui that is true and now that we are all together again let's go home.

: as they were heading for home, Madeline cried. Oh."

"Miss Clavel!" said oh Madeline what is it now?"

: There was one thing she needed before they went.

Madeline ran back to the building and took the two stars off the door. Madeline smiled and hurried back to her friends, dog and sister.

Back at home.

Madeline hammered the Star on the bedroom wall above Riley's bed and Genieve's basket.

Madeline said, "You will always be our stars, Riley and Genevieve Marie."

The 10 other girls nodded as everyone climbed into their beds.

Miss Clavel said, "Good night, little girls, and little Genevieve Marie."

Genevieve barks.

All the girls said, "Good night, Miss Clavel, good night, Genevieve Marie."

Genevieve barked, "Good night."

: Genevieve and Riley's stars glimmered at there door, and that's all there is there isn't anymore.
