Shadow: Ultimate
A/N: After 2 years, I'm back. For good this time. Speaking of which, I apologize for not posting often, I had a lack of motivation and school was busy. But, I'm trying to balance everything out now, so posts should be more regular. This story I have planned out ever since I discontinued Sonic the Hedgehog: A Tale of Shadows. Hope you enjoy, and please review!
CHAPTER 1 – ANGEL CITY
It was a sunny day on the planet Mobius. One of the hottest of the year, and every Mobian flocked to the beach, trying to make the most of the weather. This was the first sunny day in over 7 weeks, and the clouds were gone.
G.U.N units, as per usual, were stationed at the beach. There had been a severe attack by Dr Eggman 4 months prior, and ever since then, the military organisation decided to step up security, to prevent such a disaster to ever happen again. So far, the day was going normal, and peaceful.
A young agent, a wolf who looked to be 22 years old, saw it. He had been stationed at the car park area, as this was where the disaster occurred.
"Man, when I signed up to do this agent thing, I didn't expect to just do THIS! I'm so bored, and God its boiling!", the agent said to himself. Taking off his smock, he looked up at the sky.
"W-woah, what the heck is that up there? That definitely isn't normal, is this some trick from Dr Eggman?!" the agent worriedly said. Scrambling to his car, he picked up his radio.
"A-all units stationed at Station Square Beach, get over to the car park right now! Something's going on, and I don't particularly think it's good! Hurry!" ordered the agent.
"Copy that, on my way", another agent said over the radios.
A solid 20 minutes later, all agents were at Station Square Beach, where the youngster filled them in on what he saw. He told them to look at the sky, and lo and behold, the mysterious thing was there.
"What the heck is that?", one agent said.
"Don't look at me, I don't know!", said another.
"H-hey, I think something's going down from there!"
All eyes were on the figure, as he descended from the mysterious place. He landed right in front of the crew, who's eyes widened in shock and of recognize.
"W-what the- is that you Shadow? What a hell of a way to pull a prank of us, what the hell were you thinking?!" the crew's head yelled.
They stopped as the Shadow look-a-like sighed. Then got defensive as he began to laugh.
"BAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You honestly think I'm Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Lifeform? Well I hate to burst your bubble, but I'm afraid I am not that clown. No. I am, the true Ultimate Lifeform. I am Mephiles. MEPHILES THE DARK!"
The agents took a step back, clearly confused and scared. Mephiles stood there, bored. A sinister look then came onto his eyes as he quickly went and attacked, punching a hole straight through the young wolf's stomach. He coughed up blood, and fell. He was dead.
This act of murder didn't go unnoticed, as a member of the public screamed and ran. Many Mobians looked at the screaming hedgehog, before looking at the mutilated carcass before screaming and panicking. What was meant to be a relaxing holiday turned out to be a living hell.
The agents just stood there, petrified and shocked. How? How could this freak who looked like Shadow do this? Why did he do this? What even was he? The agents were quickly snapped out of their thinking when they heard Mephiles speak.
"Tch. How pathetic was that, gone down in one shot. Weak. I suppose you lot could give me a challenge, haha. Well, I'll let you all fight me at once, and perhaps you can gain revenge for that pathetic youngling of yours. Go on. Fight me."
The agents did not need to be told twice, proceeding to jump the Shadow imposter all at once. Mephiles just stood there, before screaming:
"CHAOS OBLIVION!"
There was an immediate explosion of chaos energy. Once settled, the agents and everyone within the area lay on the ground, lifeless. Mephiles just stood there, content.
"Heh. That should keep Angel City safe for now. Don't want these stupid Mobians invading. Not when I have plans to do. Nuh-uh. Angel City will stay, and I will claim my rightful title as the true Ultimate Lifeform!"
Mephiles then began to ascend towards the city, landing in the centre. He then walked inside the government hall, satisfied with the chaos that he sent Station Square into.
What he didn't know, was soon a hedgehog would invade his precious city as a result of his own actions.
