"Last time on Total Drama Island," Chris began. "We met our sixteen newest campers and sorted them into their teams for this season, the Frogs of Death and the Ferocious Trout. We immediately sent them on a wild goose hunt to help get them familiar with the island. Or should I say, cassowary hunt, as they had to search the island for cassowary eggs! Although it was a close match, the Trout came out on top, and it was Jude who got sent home first for costing his team a potential win."

"Which team will come out on top today? And who will be the next person sent home via the Drone of Despair?" the host questioned, grinning with excitement. "Find out here, on Total! Drama! ISLAND!"

Hey what's up I'm here to slay

(The camera zoomed around the island, passing a helicopter containing Chris and Chef. It went up the cliff before going into the water)

Don't know why the rest even bothered to stay

(Audrey and Desmond appear to be swimming away from a shark, before Caleb approaches it from behind and grabs onto its fin)

I know the game and I bought the skill

(Grace is sitting on a log across from Jude and Tracy, although Grace seems to be going through her camera, Tracy is playing some sort of game and Jude is writing something in his notebook)

Crushing player's dreams, yeah

(From behind, Mitchell swipes the camera from Grace's hands as Melaine looks confused. Ben, watching the whole thing, only shakes his head. Alex suddenly falls into frame, having tripped on a log, as he winds up knocking Ben down with him.)

You know the drill

(Theresa is by the dock, only for someone to suddenly tap her on the shoulder. When she turns around, Thayer is right behind her, wearing a mask and trying to be intimidating.)

I wanna be, I wanna be!

(The camera zooms over to show Five outside the mess hall, tuning their guitar. Giselle seems to be attempting to strike up a conversation, although it seems to be for naught as the guitarist doesn't acknowledge her.)

I wanna be famous!

(Quinn is staring at the fire intensely, sitting next to Julia, who seems to have a rather neutral expression on her face before the two make eye contact. The camera pans out to reveal all sixteen contestants sitting around the campfire with Chris and Chef behind the campfire, the host holding a platter of marshmallows. The contestants all whistle in tune, aligning with the whistling at the end of the song.)

"Psst..!" Someone seemed to be poking at Julia. The runaway groaned, opening her eyes only to see Audrey leaning over. "Good morning!"

The runaway just blinked, almost as though she were surprised by Audrey's appearance. She sat up, Audrey moving a bit away from her.

"You seemed cold," the other girl noted. Julia just shrugged in response. "Why were you sleeping outside?"

"Because I wanted to," the runaway answered.

"Oh, uh, okay!" Audrey replied. Julia stood up and began to head back to the cabin. "I'll…see you later?"

"We're competitors," Julia stated rather bluntly. "Of course we will." She entered the girl's side of the Frogs cabin, leaving Audrey by herself.

Confessional - Julia

"It's nothing against her. It's just how the game is going."

Desmond was sitting on his bed, adjusting the scarf around his neck. Suddenly, a loud THUD could be heard, causing him to look at the source of the noise.

"I'm okay.." Alex groaned as he moved himself to a sitting position. He looked over at Desmond. "Is there any blood or any scratches?"

"None that I can see," the advisor said. "Listen, I'm sorry about yesterday. I-"

"It's fine," the pessimist said. "If you hadn't, someone else would've."

Desmond sighed. "Even then, I still feel bad about what happened."

"Like I said, if you hadn't, someone else would've," he remarked, dusting himself off.

Confessional - Alex

"I don't really get why he's apologizing now, but I stand by what I said."

Giselle was in the wooded area of the island, unaware of the footsteps that seemed to be following her.

Suddenly, a figure in what appeared to be a black robe and a bloody mask jumped in front of her with an exaggerated scream. This caused her to jump back with a scream of her own.

"Haha!" A familiar voice let out a laugh, and the person unmasked themself. Thayer stood there with a carefree smile. "Gotcha!"

When Giselle still seemed panicked, Thayer frowned. He hadn't thought about this kind of reaction before and was unsure of how to respond.

"Uh..are you okay?" The prankster asked, seeming confused. "I mean, it was supposed to just be a prank, I didn't mean to scare you as badly as I apparently did."

"You're fine," the cheerleader replied once she'd calmed down. "I'm just…I just don't like blood."

"Oh. Ohhh," he nodded in understanding. He seemed a bit awkward after that. "Well, uh, shoot." He paused for a moment, almost as though thinking about what else to say. "If it makes you feel any better, it was just paint on the mask."

"It was paint?"

"Yeah, I'm not really supposed to share that. Prankster code and all. Sorry for scaring you."

"You didn't know," she commented. "But it's fine, really."

"Well," Thayer took a breath and the carefree smile returned. "I'm off to find someone else!" He ran off, leaving Giselle by herself.

Confessional - Giselle

"Thayer is a bit eccentric I suppose. He seems nice, but his jokes are a bit…intimidating," she stated.

Quinn had gone to the campfire and was writing in her journal eagerly. Suddenly, someone sat next to her. The matchmaker looked up and saw Theresa with something in her hands.

"Oh! Hello, nyohoho!" The girl greeted.

"Hello, dear," the dollmaker replied. "You go by Quinn, correct?"

"Correctomundo!" Quinn replied enthusiastically. "So, whatcha got in your hand?"

"My craft," Theresa answered. "It takes skill, patience and precision. I figured this spot would be a good place to work."

"Makes sense," the matchmaker nodded. She wrote something down in her journal. "Aren't the flames pretty?"

"That is one word to describe them, yes," the other girl responded. She took a look at the campfire. "It seems almost peaceful."

Quinn just hummed, writing something down. "They're better uncontrolled, in my opinion, nyohoho!" She let out a laugh before looking over at Theresa. "So, has anyone caught your eye yet?"

"Perhaps not in the way you may anticipate, but yes," she nodded. Quinn let out an excited gasp, almost as though she hadn't heard the first part of the dollmaker's statement, and resumed writing in her journal.

Confessional - Quinn

"Nyo, I wonder what Theresa's type is. I'm sure I could figure out someone she could have a good ship with!"

Confessional - Theresa

"Quinn is surely an inspired creature of interest. You know…this gives me inspiration of my own." She giggled at that.

Five was sitting on the dock with their eyes closed, absentmindedly strumming their guitar.

The sound of a camera snapping a photo caught their attention. They stopped strumming their guitar and opened their eyes, looking behind to see Grace standing there.

"It's a wonderful day, isn't it?" She asked innocently. "I mean, the clouds allow for such a nice contrast to the lake, you know?"

Five just shrugged in response. "I suppose."

"You're Five, right? I'm not sure if we got off to the best start. I'm Grace."

"I know you, you know," they said simply. "You were at the dock when I arrived here."

"Oh," she frowned. They stood up and began to walk away. "W-Wait! You're just going to…leave? Like that?" She got no verbal response from the guitarist, who only began to walk away.

"You don't have to be such a jerk, you know," Grace commented with a frown. Five just continued walking away.

Confessional - Five

"Grace is reminding me of people I've known before. And it didn't end well."

Confessional - Grace

"I'm trying to be more social so that I have something to fall back on in case I'm at risk for elimination," she said. "And given Five's attitude, they will be lucky if they survive this round."

Caleb was sitting in the Mess Hall, picking up spoonfuls of Chef's slop of the day.

"Hii!" A voice said from behind him. Melaine was standing there innocently, smiling brightly. He returned the smile.

"Oh, good morning Mel! How are you doing today?" He asked.

"I'm feeling good! Although I do have some questions. Where's Jackson?" She asked, sitting down beside him. "I've been looking for him, but I can't seem to find him."

"Jude was eliminated last night," he answered, his smile fading. "Kind of a bummer, but he cost us last time."

"Oh. Is James coming back?"

"Not as far as I know. Sorry, Mel."

Suddenly, the intercom buzzed to life. "Alright campers! It's challenge time!" Chris announced. "Meet me at the beach for your next challenge!"

"Is that good or bad?" The actress asked, looking over at the gambler. However, he seemed rather oblivious to her question.

"Aww, sweet!" Caleb exclaimed with a grin. "I hope it's something fun!"

Confessional - Caleb

"Last challenge wasn't as exciting as I would've liked it to be," he confessed. "I mean, the cassowaries were cool and all, but I need a real challenge!" He rubbed his hands together with a grin. "So bring it on, McLean!"

Once they were at the beach, they were greeted by Chris wearing a pirate costume. "Alright campers, it's time for your next challenge!" Chris exclaimed. "To win this challenge, you must take the other team down to the bottom of the lake!"

"Bottom of the lake?" Quinn repeated, suddenly seeming more nervous than she had been previously.

"Yes, Quinn, I just said that," the host replied, slightly annoyed. "To take the other team down, you will all climb aboard your team's designated ship. Each ship has two pull string cannons that should be fully functioning. You can use these cannons to aim and fire your cannonballs at the opponent."

"Should be fully functioning?" Ben repeated. "What do you mean, should?"

"Should be obvious, Ben," the host answered. "You pull the string, and the cannonball will be launched to the opponents' ship."

"For legal reasons, we cannot give you actual cannonballs," Chef added. "So you'll be using cabbages instead."

"What's that going to do exactly?" Alex grumbled.

"They're your cannonballs! You use them to damage your opponents' chances of winning!" Chris exclaimed, starting to get annoyed. He took a deep breath to calm himself down before flashing his usual charming smile. "The team with the last player standing wins immunity for the night."

"Each team will need to decide who gets ammo and who shoots the cannons," Chef added. "You can also select a team captain for this challenge, should you find that necessary."

"You can all head to your ships now," Chris said. "Cabbages are below deck. And get started on planning and strategy, because this challenge is going to require a lot of it."

Frogs of Death Ship

"This is going to be fun!" Caleb proclaimed, looking over the cannons with awe. "Can we move them?"

Mitchell walked over to one and moved it slightly. "You can," he answered.

"That's useful to know," Five commented dryly. "I'm surprised Chris didn't just make them immobile."

"I mean, it's cool and all, but there's some things to discuss," the gamer commented.

"Things to discuss? Like what?" Caleb asked.

"Like who're we putting in the captain's position?" Tracy asked.

"What's a captain?" Melaine asked, tilting her head. "Is that someone who wears one of those hat things?"

"No, it's someone who leads a team," the gamer responded. "So, anyone wanna step up?"

"I can!" Caleb volunteered, still eager. "I think I could pull it off!"

"You think you can?" Five repeated, raising an eyebrow. "Thinking doesn't mean you know you can."

"Come on, we should give him a chance," Tracy remarked. "Well, who all is in favor of that?"

"I don't care either way," Julia said.

"If it's in our team's best interest," Mitchell said. Melaine just blinked in confusion.

"Well that's almost everyone's vote. Quinn? What do you say?" Tracy asked, looking over at the matchmaker.

But Quinn didn't speak up, only looking over the ship and into the vast water, her own fearful expression reflecting back at her.

Confessional - Quinn

"Is now a bad time to say I don't like water? Yeah..nyohoho…" she laughed, seeming somewhat uneasy.

"Quinn? You good?" Tracy asked. "You've been staring over the ledge for a while now."

"Yeah, nyohoho," the matchmaker laughed awkwardly, trying to appear calm.

"Scared of boats?" Mitchell asked. "Don't worry, I'll make sure the ship doesn't sink with us." He winked at her.

"Didn't we all arrive on boats though?" Julia questioned, causing the thief to frown at her. "Just saying."

Ferocious Trout Ship

"You know, for Total Drama, this ship seems surprisingly stable," Grace remarked offhandedly.

"I am certain they would not allow us to die," Theresa remarked from behind, startling the photographer. "They gave us cabbage as ammo anyway." She giggled.

"I'm surprised he never had us change into swimwear," Thayer remarked. "If we're on boats, wouldn't that make sense?"

"Chris is just full of surprises," the dollmaker giggled again.

"I don't know why it matters," Alex replied. "We're going to lose anyway."

"We have a numbers advantage though?" Giselle questioned. "We have one more member! We still got this!"

"I think Audrey and Ben should get cabbages," Grace commented, changing the subject.

"I don't think I should pull the cannon," the pessimist remarked.

"Aww, I'm sure you'll be fine," Audrey replied.

"No, don't take your chances," he sighed. She frowned at that.

Confessional - Audrey

"Talk about a mood killer.." she frowned. "Why is he so down all the time?"

"So who's our captain then?" Thayer asked. "Because the only person I could see in the role is Desmond."

"Me?" The advisor repeated, taken aback. "I don't think that's a good idea, I suggest maybe going for someone else."

"You'll be fine, Captain," the prankster replied, waving a rather dismissive hand. "Besides, nothing could-"

"I'd advise you to not finish that sentence," Desmond interrupted.

Confessional - Desmond

"I'm not sure why they think I'd be a good team captain," he commented. "I just don't see myself as a team leader."

"Teams, are you ready?" Chris asked from the beach, his megaphone in hand. "Doesn't matter if you are or not, though, because it's time to let the challenge commence!"

The airhorn blared in the air, and the parrot began biting at Chef's neck again.

"Ow! Bad bird! Bad bird!" The man exclaimed, trying to swat the bird away.

"Get them those cabbages!" Caleb exclaimed, prompting Melaine and Quinn to head down to get cabbages. "We got to take them down!"Julia and Mitchell were by the cannons, ready to pull the string. The runaway went ahead and pulled the string, sending a cabbage in the air.

The cabbage wound up hitting Alex in the chest, which was enough to knock him off balance and send him straight into the water.

Confessional - Alex

The boy is dripping wet with a rather annoyed expression on his face. "What did I say?"

"Great, now we're down a player," Grace groaned before she took a look at Desmond with a calmer expression. "What's your plan now?"

"I'm not entirely sure," he admitted. "I don't think we ever talked about strategy, we just assigned roles to each other."

"Well, if we aim this cannon at an angle that allows us to take out some stronger players," Audrey said.

"Hm," Desmond hummed. "It could work, but-"

"I think I see what she's getting at!" Giselle piped up, interrupting the advisor. "If we aim for the stronger players, then they won't have the same strong people to tackle our strong players!"

"Tackle?" The photographer blinked. "Giselle, this is like the game Battleship, not American football."

"It's a similar concept!"

Confessional - Ben

"Battleship and American football are two very different things," he said bluntly. He then tapped his chin in thought. "But if this plan works out the way they say it will, then maybe I've underestimated both of them."

"So what angle would that be?" Desmond prompted. "If we are going through with this plan, we should know about these details."

"Well it's pointed straight right now," Audrey remarked. "So if we move it, we may be able to start.."

"Taking down the opposing team!" Giselle nodded. "Audrey, that's super smart!"

"Thank you!" she replied, bouncing on her feet a bit.

Confessional - Giselle

"I think her plan is genius! I've seen firsthand what taking stronger players out earlier can do. We still have a shot!"

"Well, I've got it adjusted," Giselle said. "Who wants to pull?"

"I got that covered," Desmond said. He pulled the string, and the cabbage went in the air, heading towards the Frogs ship.

A splash was soon heard in the distance as Caleb popped his head out of the water.

"And now it's six to seven!" Chris announced.

"See what I meant earlier?" The guitarist looked at the gamer with a raised eyebrow.

"Okay, well, Caleb didn't work out but that doesn't mean you have to give up on us as a whole," Tracy replied.

"I'm just saying we can't just put people into the captain position if we can't guarantee they'll win for us."

"And I just want you to listen for once!"

"Whoa whoa, let's not fight," Mitchell interrupted. "We can't deny that it's a bummer our captain is out, but fighting is not the solution. If anything, that gives them a chance to catch up."

"Well then what do you expect us to do about it?" Five asked, rolling their eyes.

"Why not pick another person to be captain?" The thief said. "Nobody ever said the captain role had to be locked in. Or alternatively, we all just share the captain position."

"Everyone as a captain sounds great," the gamer responded, calming down. They both turned to look at Five, who just sighed.

"It's an okay plan," they said, "but let's go with that one…assuming nobody goes power crazy."

Confessional - Tracy

"I'm glad Mitch came up with another plan," she commented. "But Five needs to learn to listen, and soon."

"Man, that was a boring swim back," Caleb remarked off handedly once he arrived back to shore. "I expected there to be sharks or something."

"Wait," Chris paused, a sudden realization sinking in. "I forgot to release the sharks?!" He turned to look at Chef, who was no longer being bothered by the parrot. "Why didn't you tell me?!"

"I thought you had already released them."

Chris groaned before grinning. "Well, no time like the present," he said before grabbing a remote and pressing a red button.

"Attention pirates!" He yelled out. "There are now man-eating sharks in the water!"

"You're telling us now?" Giselle commented. "Why now?"

"Because it makes the challenge more interesting," he chuckled.

"And now there's sharks," the thief mumbled. "That's not good." He turned to load a cabbage into a cannon, almost ready to aim and fire. Julia took one of the cabbages from the guitarist and loaded one of the cannons.

"I see the cannon loaders," Giselle murmured. "Let's see, ready…aim.." she seemed to be teetering between the two, before pausing at one and pulling the string.

Before either of them could do anything, two cabbages came at them and Julia went overboard, surprising Mitchell.

Confessional - Mitchell

"Let me just say, I had no intentions of getting her out of the challenge as revenge for the last challenge," he said. "That was just an unpleasant surprise is all."

"Uh, guys! We're down two!" Mitchell exclaimed. "I need another person to help me with the cannons!"

"I got it," Tracy replied, rushing over to the cannons. "Five and Quinn can continue to get our cabbages!"

"Uh, Thalia?" Melaine asked. "What exactly do you want me to do?"

Suddenly, the sound of fabric ripping could be heard. Tracy looked up to see that the flag on the ship had been ripped, presumably by a cabbage.

"You can fix our flag!" Tracy yelled out. "Come on team! We have a comeback to pull off!" She pulled the string and a cabbage hit the side of the Trouts' ship.

"The idea isn't working," Grace noted to herself.

"What do you mean it isn't working?" Ben questioned, startling her. "The other team has had arguably two of their stronger players eliminated. Just because you're not getting someone like Mitchell or Tracy, you've already gotten Caleb and Julia, and that puts them at a bigger disadvantage."

"Don't we want to sink their ship? Isn't that the game plan?"

"Audrey's plan involved taking out stronger members. She said nothing about hitting the ship directly."

"Are we sure we really want to follow through with her plan though?"

"It hasn't failed us yet," Ben remarked with a roll of his eyes. "If you look at the visual results, we're winning right now."

Confessional - Grace

"Ben doesn't need to be such a know it all," she scoffed. "I just don't think we need to follow her plan."

"Let me just…" Grace moved the cannon so it pointed more towards the ship.

"What are you doing, Grace?" Theresa spoke up, tilting her head.

"I'm helping our team?" the photographer replied as she turned to look at the other girl.

"Whatever you say, dearie," the dollmaker replied, giving a grin. Grace shuddered a bit before turning her attention back to the cannon.

"I don't think that's going to help the team," Desmond spoke up, walking over. "The results were fine earlier!"

Grace, however, didn't seem to be listening. "Let me just aim it and…" she pulled the string.

"Alright, Quinn, Five, we need more ammo!" Tracy exclaimed. The guitarist just nodded and headed down below deck, the matchmaker reluctantly following them.

A cabbage suddenly came barreling through and managed to break off a bit of wood on the bottom deck. Water had not yet quite started to seep into the boat, but it was enough for Quinn to completely freeze.

Five just looked at her, as though reading her expression. "Head on up to the main deck," they instructed. "I'll get the cabbages."

"Are you sure? I can-"

"I'm sure."

Confessional - Five

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe we made a mistake last episode. I don't think we can trust Quinn to step up her game here, and if she doesn't, it will cost us more than Jude last challenge."

"Fire in the hole!" Tracy yelled out, pulling the string and launching a cabbage from the cannon. It wound up hitting Thayer, who stumbled backwards and fell into the water.

"Alright Tracy!" Caleb exclaimed eagerly from the beach. "Way to turn things around for us!"

Confessional - Caleb

"I don't really like this whole watch from the sidelines thing," he commented. "It feels boring. I'd rather be doing something rather than nothing."

"Uh, Grace, please listen to me when I say this isn't a good idea," the advisor said. "We're not saying your idea is wrong, but if we take out their numbers, we'll be able to have a higher chance of winning."

"But this will allow us to do more damage," the photographer replied. "We can take out both this way, just with an emphasis on the boat!"

"I don't know if I follow your logic here," he frowned.

"Just get us some cabbages to help your team, captain," she said. Desmond frowned before heading below deck. Grace stepped away from the cannon and soon enough, someone noticed.

"Hey, who moved the cannon?" Giselle asked. Ben was standing next to her, carrying some cabbages.

"It was all him," Grace answered, gesturing to the bookworm. "He decided the results weren't good enough for him."

"I never said that," Ben responded calmly. "When would I have said that?"

"Don't play dumb," Grace rolled her eyes. "If you were as smart as you seem to be, you would've said something in the confessional."

"You're pointing fingers," Ben scoffed. He handed a cabbage to Giselle. "Maybe when you get some proof, there'll be reason to believe you."

"What are we arguing about?" Desmond asked as he returned from below deck.

Confessional - Ben

"I have a feeling she moved it, judging by what she was saying about the plan not working earlier. Now is not the time to create a scene, however."

"No time to argue about this!" Giselle exclaimed, loading the cabbage into the cannon and aiming it. "We have to get back in the game!" She aimed the cannon and pulled the string. The cabbage hit Five and they went overboard.

"Alright, let me get this cannon," Desmond murmured to himself. He loaded up the cannon, but never got to pull the string, as Theresa grabbed hold of the string and pulled it. However, this time the cabbage hit the Frogs' ship.

Once Five got back to shore, they were greeted by an overexaggerated groan from Chris.

"Seriously? The sharks aren't bothering anyone?" Chris complained. "They're there for that reason, you know!"

"They can still bother someone," Chef responded. "You know there's still a good number of contestants remaining in the challenge."

"Um," Melaine said, looking over at the flag. "Guys! There's no thread here!" She never got a response verbally, but rather another cabbage hit the ship. "Guys!"

Her worries seemed to be ignored by the others, however. They were loading the cannons with the ammo before aiming them. Tracy pulled one of the strings.

The vegetable wound up hitting Desmond, who was sent stumbling backwards, before another cabbage hit him in the leg. This caused him to hold on to the back ledge of the ship.

"Des? You good?" Audrey asked, looking at him with worry.

"Yeah, I think so," he replied. The advisor went to walk away from the ledge, but he was hit with yet another cabbage, but this time it sent him overboard.

Another cabbage was sent Audrey's way, but she managed to avoid it and it hit the floor of the ship's main deck.

"Score!" Tracy exclaimed with a fist pump. Her celebration was cut short, however, when another cabbage hit the ship.

"It's okay," Mitchell replied. "We still have a chance." He aimed another cannon and fired it, causing a cabbage to hit the side of the Trout ship.

"Do any of you have any treads?" Melaine asked, catching the Frogs' attention.

"You mean threads?" Mitchell asked. "Well, I don't know where I could find threads on the ship, but I'm sure I could find a thread for our story." He winked at her.

"Aww, you're such a sweetheart Martin," the actress replied with a giggle.

"That line made zero sense," Five stated. Quinn didn't seem to be listening and just gave a grin.

"And now we're down our own captain," Grace commented. "So, does anyone else have a game plan?"

"Um.." Audrey trailed off, seemingly unsure. "Maybe-" Suddenly, another cabbage hit the side of the ship.

"Guys, it's fine! I'll be Captain," Giselle volunteered. "So I say that you all go get cabbages!"

"Aye aye Captain!" Audrey exclaimed, hurrying to go get cabbages. The photographer just frowned and followed after her teammate.

"Well dearie," Theresa said, holding a cabbage in her hand. "I believe this would help you in your goals of victory."

"Thanks," Giselle replied, awkwardly taking the cabbage from the dollmaker. She loaded the cannon and aimed it before firing. The cabbage wound up hitting Quinn, sending her overboard and into the water once Grace and Audrey arrived back to the main deck.

As soon as Quinn hit the water, she began splashing around and struggling to stay afloat. Theresa put her hands over Audrey's eyes.

"Uh, Chris? Shouldn't we get a life preserver?" Chef asked, looking over at the aforementioned host.

"Not just yet," Chris answered.

"Chris! She could drown!" Desmond yelled out, panicking. "You're really willing to let a teenager drown on television?"

"Worse has happened on the show previously," Chris replied dismissively, before he suddenly thought about it further. "You know what, yeah. Chef, please go get the life preserver. We can't afford another lawsuit!"

"It's okay!" Quinn yelled out suddenly. However, she didn't notice one of the sharks rising beneath her. "I'm okay, nyohoho!"

"Uh…yeah, great.." Five replied, sounding rather disinterested. "But uh-"

"Don't look beneath you," Desmond advised cautiously, his eyes wide.

"You're on a shark!" Caleb exclaimed rather loudly.

Quinn froze at that and looked down, only to see that the gambler was correct. She let out a yell and jumped off the shark, only to begin splashing around as she tried to distance herself from the shark.

"I'll get the life preserver," Chef sighed.

Confessional - Grace

"Who signs up for this show without the ability to swim? That's kind of sad, to be honest."

"Okay, the flag is fixed, Tabitha!" Melaine exclaimed. "What can I do now?"

"You can take Quinn's role," the gamer answered, firing one of the cannons. A splash could be heard as Theresa had been sent into the water.

"But Quincy isn't an actress?" the actress tilted her head in confusion.

"She means you can join me," Five spoke up, rather disinterested. "Come on." They began to head below deck, Melaine awkwardly following them.

"Well, now what?" Grace asked. "They seem to have their roles reassigned to their advantage."

"I still think we got a chance," Giselle replied. "Come on guys, we have to remain in high spirits. Go Tro-"

"If you keep that up, you may start to sound like a broken record," Ben commented. The cheerleader frowned and looked down. "But you do have a point."

"She does?" the photographer repeated. "What's the point?"

"We still have a chance," the bookworm answered. "We just have to utilize it."

Suddenly, a cabbage hit Grace, which sent her into the lake.

"Things are a little bit more even now! Four for the Frogs, three for the Trout!" Chris announced.

"Why are you refereeing?" Ben asked with a raised eyebrow. "This isn't-" he was cut off when another cabbage hit him and sent him overboard.

"But I am the host of the show!" Chris responded. "And with Ben out of the challenge, it's now four to two!"

"I'm not going to pretend to be surprised with this outcome," Alex grumbled.

"Why are you being so pessimistic about this?" Thayer asked. He never got a response.

Confessional - Thayer

"Normally I'm one for a good time, but man does Alex bring the mood down."

"Good job team!" Tracy exclaimed. "I think we got this in the bag."

"There's no bag though?" Melaine blinked in confusion.

"It's a metaphor," Five scoffed.

"And now we can take them by surprise," the gamer added.

"I wouldn't count that as an option," the guitarist remarked. "They could tell if we're around."

"You know, it's a strategy based challenge," Tracy remarked. "It's not out of the question."

"Uh huh, sure." The drawn out response of the guitarist prompted the actress to furrow her brow in confusion.

Confessional - Melaine

"I don't really get why Finn is being mean," she replied. "I mean, I think Tamara has a good idea!"

"So what do we do?" Audrey asked, looking over at Giselle with worry. "W-We're down two!"

"And they are in dysfunction," Giselle replied. "And when they're in dysfunction, we can easily outdo them."

"How?" she asked.

"Just watch. Would you mind handing me the ammo?"

Once the cheerleader was handed the cabbage, she quickly loaded the cannon and aimed it. "Pull the string!" she instructed.

Soon enough, a cabbage was sent flying through the air, hitting Five and sending them overboard. Another cabbage came by and hit Melaine, leading to her also going into the water.

"Alright, enough playing around," the gamer replied, aiming the cannon. Once Mitchell pulled the string, the cabbage hit the Trout ship.

Another cabbage was sent, this time hitting Mitchell, and sending him stumbling backwards. However, he didn't fall overboard.

"I'm okay-" he was interrupted by another cabbage hitting him in the stomach with enough force to send him overboard.

Confessional - Tracy

"This is not good, for me or the rest of the team. The Trout are on a streak with eliminating our team from the challenge, and we can't afford to go back to elimination!"

The gamer quickly aimed the cannon before rushing over to the string. "It isn't over yet," she whispered before pulling the string. The cabbage managed to hit the cheerleader with enough force to send her overboard.

Once Giselle hit the water, Audrey looked at Tracy and gulped. "Um…can we just talk this out?" she asked. She was answered by a sudden cabbage sent her way, which she avoided before

"You got this!" Giselle yelled from the water before beginning to swim back.

"O-Okay…" Audrey hesitantly headed back over to the cannon and loaded it rather awkwardly. When she aimed it and pulled the string, it hit the Frogs' ship.

Confessional - Giselle

"Of course I believe in her! She was the one who came up with the initial plan!" she reasoned. "So I think she can carry us to a second victory!"

"Okay, seriously, can one of you just go overboard already?" Chris asked, annoyed.

"Why, are you over bored with this outcome?" Thayer asked before chuckling. "Haha…over bored, overboard."

"I think you need to be more patient," Desmond spoke up. "Someone's going to win here soon."

Audrey and Tracy kept firing the cabbages at each other, although none of them actually seemed to hit the intended target. They either kept zooming past the target and straight into the water, or simply hitting the boat.

"Hey, Chris? What if they tie?" Giselle asked.

"Well, I don't think they'll actually tie," the host answered. "But if they do, we'll think of something.

Soon enough, a SPLASH could be heard in the distance. Chris perked up. "And it looks like the challenge is over!"

Audrey popped her head out of the water. Tracy remained on the Frogs' boat by the cannon, looking triumphant.

"And the Frogs of Death win!" Chris announced. Most of the Frogs began cheering, while the Trout groaned. "Ferocious Trout, I'll see you at the elimination ceremony. Someone is going home."

"Nice going," Grace said, looking over at Ben. The bookworm just blinked apathetically in response.

"If I were you, I would hope that nobody finds evidence against you," he said. "Like the apparent evidence you have against me."

"Alright, is there anything of value I can find here?" Mitchell asked himself. He was in the girls side of the Frogs cabin, looking through their stuff. "What can I possibly take that would have value?"

"Merrick?" A voice asked from behind. He turned around to see Melaine standing there. "What are you doing here?"

The thief froze for a moment before giving a grin. "Just wanted to check up on you after the challenge," he replied. "After all, you took a hard hit and it seemed important to check back in on you."

"Aww, Max, that's so sweet," the actress replied. "But uh, when would I have taken a hard hit during the challenge?"

"The cabbages?"

"Oh," she replied. She stood still for a couple of seconds before suddenly holding her stomach in pain. "Oww! Melvin, it hurts!"

"Whoa, hey, it's okay now," Mitchell replied, helping her over to one of the bunks. He didn't hear the door to the cabin open.

"What are you doing here?" Julia asked, looking at Mitchell with a neutral expression.

"I was just helping her get to a bunk. She's in pain," the thief explained, opting to not talk about the reason he'd been there prior to Melaine's sudden appearance. "Although I can help you as well, if you want it."

"I'll pass," the runaway said before leaving the cabin.

Thayer was drying himself off in the male's side of the cabin. He looked up and saw Ben, who was still somewhat soaked, reading.

"What're you reading about?" The prankster asked. "Is it horror?"

"No." The blunt response caught Thayer off guard.

"Oh, well, surely it's got to be interesting if you're still reading, right?"

"You're deflecting," Ben commented dryly. "I can tell."

"What would I be deflecting?"

"You're worried about tonight."

Thayer let out an awkward laugh. "Yeah, right. Very funny."

"I'm being serious," he said with a frown. "Now, I don't know about you, but I've already decided my vote based on tonight's performances. I recommend you think about that as well."

"Well, that could've been more fun," Caleb commented in the Mess Hall.

"Man, that's a rough viewpoint," Tracy remarked, seated across from him. "I'd say it was a fun time. Maybe you just think differently because you got out early."

"I suppose," he grumbled. "It was just boring watching you all, though."

"Don't worry, Caleb," she replied. "I'm sure you'll get to do something, what you'd call, 'cool' soon enough."

"I hope you're right," he replied before perking up. "By the way, you did great at securing us the win!"

"Aha, thanks," Tracy responded with a grin of her own. "And here's hoping for another one next challenge."

Alex was sitting on the steps to the Trout cabin. He seemed to have dried off by now and was looking down at the ground.

"Are you doing okay?" A voice asked behind him. He turned around and saw that it was Desmond, who seemed concerned. Alex just shrugged, causing the advisor to frown.

"I'm not going to force you to talk to me about your feelings, but if you want to, I'm here to talk."

"Eh, not great if I'm being honest," the pessimist replied. "I'm ready to go home."

"In general, or about the ceremony? Talk to me, I'm not sure I'm following you entirely."

"The ceremony," Alex admitted. "I'm a goner, I just know I am."

"Hey, listen, word of advice," Desmond commented, putting a hand on Alex's shoulder. "Don't give up so easily. Please don't vote yourself off."

"Why?" He asked with a scoff. "Why does it matter if I'm going anyway?"

"Because there are people who did worse than you," the advisor commented.

"Then who do I vote for?" the pessimist asked. "Audrey?"

"You can vote Audrey if you want to," Desmond replied. "I mean, she isn't you, so that's an option. If it helps you feel any better about tonight, I can also vote for her."

Alex just nodded and began to head off, leaving Desmond by himself.

Audrey was sitting outside the cabins, She was picking at grass blades before someone stepped next to her. She looked up and saw Theresa.

"Good evening, dearie," the dollmaker replied, sitting beside her. "How are you feeling?"

"I dunno," the girl replied, slumping her shoulders. "I'm feeling scared."

"Is this about tonight?"

"No…Yes..I guess," she replied.

Confessional - Audrey

"It isn't that I'm embarrassed," she said, looking downward. "I just dunno if the team's happy enough with me."

"I wouldn't worry about it, dearie," Theresa responded. "After all, you have nothing to worry about for performing the best." She giggled. Audrey, although appearing unsettled for a moment, soon changed her expression.

"I guess.." she replied, still appearing downtrodden. She looked up at the dollmaker. "You promise you won't vote for me?"

"You have my word."

The intercom turned on. "Ferocious Trout, it's time to send someone packing!" Chris announced. "Please head over to the campfire for the elimination ceremony, because it's time to send one of you home!"

Like the previous night, walking to the campfire ceremony felt awkward. Soon, everyone was at the campfire. In the front row were Alex, Ben, Audrey and Theresa. In the back row were Grace, Thayer, Giselle and Desmond.

"Welcome to the elimination ceremony, Ferocious Trout," Chris greeted. "You lost, and one of you will be going home."

"Audrey, although you were the last competitor on your team, people may not be taking kindly to you losing the challenge," Chef began. The girl just looked down in shame, kicking her legs anxiously.

"Alex, you were the first one overboard," Chef continued. The pessimist just blinked.

Confessional - Alex

"Can't say I'm surprised I'm in this position."

"Ben, people seem to think you moved the cannon and that was what contributed to a mass streak of not eliminating any of the Frogs from the challenge," Chef said. When the boy said nothing, Chris piped up.

"The ballots have been cast," the host started. "Let's begin. If you get a marshmallow, you are safe. Thayer."

The prankster sighed in relief as he caught his marshmallow.

"Desmond and Giselle." They both caught their marshmallows. Giselle began to eat hers.

"Theresa." The dollmaker gave a giggle and caught her marshmallow.

"Grace." The photographer gave a smile as she caught her own marshmallow.

"And Ben," Chris concluded by tossing the bookworm his marshmallow. "You are all safe." He turned to look at the last two campers. "And the final marshmallow goes to…"

Audrey seemed scared, bouncing her leg anxiously in anticipation. Alex, on the other hand, seemed more like he had expected to be in this position.

"Audrey," the host said, tossing the girl the last marshmallow. "Alex, it's time to go."

"Can't say I'm shocked," Chef added. "You seemed ready to give up when you stepped foot on the island, and that won't get you far here."

"I'm sorry, Alex," Desmond apologized. "I thought enough people would vote otherwise."

"It's not a surprise they didn't," the pessimist commented dryly as he stood up. "I'm not mad, I'm just not surprised."

"Please follow me to the Dock of Shame. The Drone of Despair awaits you," Chris instructed. Alex began following the host, walking away from the rest of the team.

Final Confessional - Alex

"I can't say I'm surprised," he commented. "I cost my team the members advantage, and I almost lost our team the last challenge." His shoulders slumped. "I should've seen it coming from a mile away this time."

Soon enough, the Drone of Despair came by and picked Alex up by the hood, carrying him off into the distance.

"Well, that's two contestants down and fourteen remain," Chris began. Soon after he began the conclusion, a faint splash could be heard in the distance as well as mechanical whirring. The host, although annoyed, continued. "Will Five ever get along with someone? Who will Thayer annoy next? And who will be the next to be voted off? Find out the answers to all of these questions and more next time on Total!

Drama!

Island!"

14/16 Remaining

Reasoning For Elimination: And down goes another. Alex's main problem, outside of clumsiness, is his own attitude. Realistically, he'd be bound to be out early in a season like this, especially since (as he said himself) he didn't exactly provide any sort of reason for his team to keep him around. Sorry to any Alex fans.

Author's Notes: This one actually took longer than I wanted it too. The original challenge I had in mind was not working out the way I had hoped it would, so I had to deal with that stepback, and I did struggle a bit with writing this episode even after the change was made. I do think this challenge actually worked better and hopefully it was coherent enough. I like to think this chapter was an upgrade from the previous episode in regards to drama and interactions. I've already talked about the elimination, but I'm curious about who you think will be the next to leave the competition. Constructive criticism is appreciated!
