Asher followed his mother to their little house a few blocks from the clinic. His little sister was already home.
"Asher! Mommy!" she yelled as she hugged their mother.
"How was School today?" asked their mom.
"So cool. We got out early because Leia- I mean the princess hacked the holotypes again and they needed all day to fix them. Also on the walk home-"
Asher slipped away to his room while Bela talked about her day. His bedroom was painted light blue, and was decorated with several awards and posters of far away planets. He lay on his bed, which was colored the same as the rest of his room.
He thought about his sister. She was a good kid, but their mother seemed nervous sending them to school. This incident must've given her a heart attack. He had asked why once when he was 10, but all she would tell him was that they needed to hide their "gift". He didn't know what she meant at first, but shortly after, a classmate of his named Claeg never came home from school. His parents disappeared shortly afterwards. The day they disappeared his mother made sure to walk him and Bela to school and home for the next two years. Now with Willow back, he wasn't sure how he could hide it. Just as he thought this, his sister ran intro his room and stood the foot of his bed.
"What?" he asked.
"Mom wants to talk to you." she replied before running back to her room.
"Okay" he replied.
While he tried to focus, his thoughts kept drifting back to Willow. She was his closest friend at the time and all he knew was that she was his closest friend. One moment she was by his side, the next she was severed from his life. He had felt empty for awhile afterwards and still did on occasion. But with her back he felt like a piece of him had been put back. He then reminded himself his mother was waiting for him. Panic replaced the feelings he had, but he tried calming himself down. He thought about how he was going to explain to her how his connection with Willow came back. She had heard about the incident from his father but he didn't want to worry her any further. Plus the connection wasn't as strong as it once had been. He thought of Willow often and wondered why his father had panicked so much when he found out about their connection.
"Maybe I can hide this. No one has to know." he thought, before getting up and walking out to his mother. Whatever happened, he felt that things would go well.
