Chapter 577: Number One Master of Storm City
After being pushed to its tipping point, the giant Sea Serpent had gone completely berserk and for a moment, no one dared to even get close to it.
"It currently has 54% HP remaining. The recovery speed is around 1% per second…" Scout players continued to report the giant Sea Serpent's data in real time on the regional comms channel.
The Quasi-Boss monster had a million HP, which was quite amazing. Even after a series of attacks, it still had more than half of its HP remaining.
The only consolation for the players would probably be that ever since the battle began, both the Quasi-Bosses – the Level 50 Overlord Sea Serpent and the slightly higher level Shark Turtle, which had been bullying all the players who fell into the ocean, had only displayed physical attack capabilities and had not shown any energy type attack methods.
Otherwise, a Quasi-Boss monster of that caliber would most likely only need to encase a guided area of effect skill to wipe them out since the players had nowhere to run in the current setting. That would be a huge loss.
It was probably also due to the fact that both the monsters only had physical attack methods that each of these two Level 50 plus Quasi-Boss monsters had such a huge amount of HP. Additionally, the Shark Turtle had a higher defense stat than the Boss Grade Steel Beetle.
"While it only possessed physical attacks, this guy is not easy to deal with. In particular, since the fight is set on a military ship, we can't increase the distance. As such, many professions aren't able to increase the distance between them and the monster to maximize their damage output." Feng Luo thought to himself.
"Bang!"
"-5367!"
Feng Luo held Wings of Death and fired another shot. The bullet accurately struck a spot on the giant Sea Serpent's body which was previously injured by a skill and inflicted a Weak Point damage.
Without inflicting a Fatal Damage, even if Feng Luo were facing this Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent whose defense stat was not weak, the damage dealt from a normal Armor-piercing Round was only around 5,000.
Feng Luo did not shoot at the giant Sea Serpent's heart or the brain or other vital spots, and did not use special bullets because they were all intentional.
The giant Sea Serpent still had more than 50% of its HP. Even if Feng Luo were to inflict a five-digit Fatal Damage, he would have no chance of killing the giant Sea Serpent. If he, whose single shot damage output was already way above any normal player, dealt a Fatal Damage attack, there was a 90% chance that he would attract its aggro and become its target again.
If the giant Sea Serpent were to charge towards him in an enraged and berserk mode, in a setting like the military ship where hiding places were scarce and it was incredibly difficult to dodge, Feng Luo, even with almost 20,000 HP, would likely not be able to escape its jaws of death like that Earth Manipulator.
"Bro, your damage, that's pretty damn sweet. This rifle also looks super cool too!" Feng Luo suddenly heard a voice coming from beside him.
Speak of the devil…
The Earth Manipulator who was inside the mouth of the giant Sea Serpent and broke one of its fangs had appeared right beside Feng Luo at that moment.
He was using some type of blood tonic on his body while looking at the spot where Feng Luo's bullet just hit. He lamented on the damage number that popped up above the giant Sea Serpent's head.
He looked genuinely intrigued and slightly shocked when he spoke.
Feng Luo's current position was extremely beneficial for him to dish out attacks. Additionally, there was ample space for him to hide. It was the best position for long-range attackers that he could find after he entered the ship's cabin from the deck earlier.
The Earth Manipulator had similar battle awareness and thought the same way.
As such, after he escaped death from the jaws of the giant Sea Serpent, he chose that location in order to get another chance to attack.
"Bang!"
"-5349!"
"Your Energy Formation is also pretty sick. That shield is quite insane too." Feng Luo fired another shot casually while praising the Earth Manipulator. While his movement seemed casual, his shot hit the giant Sea Serpent on the deck without making any error, dealing another 5,000 plus damage.
He was telling the truth. Not only was the Earth Manipulator able to get out of the Quasi-Boss monster's mouth safely, but he was also able to break off one of its fangs.
There weren't that many Earth Manipulators in War who had such a crazy strong energy shield. He was like a manipulator version of Big Pineapple.
"He he… No, no…" The Earth Manipulator laughed proudly first, but then he thought that he should be a bit more humble.
Before he could finish being humble, the young Earth Manipulator's eyes suddenly widened as he looked toward a location on the battlefield and spoke, "Damn it. That guy Sword Ki Long River is trying to set the pace again."
On top of a defensive cannon across the two of them, the silver-armored Light Armor Warrior who first stuck that alloy sword on the giant Sea Serpent's head had appeared again.
He was hiding with an alloy sword in hand. Just like Feng Luo and the Earth Manipulator, he was waiting for the right opportunity.
"That guy is Sword Ki Long River?" After hearing the Earth Manipulator's words, Feng Luo turned around and saw the person.
It was then that he knew that the guy under all the silver light armor was the most popular superstar player in Storm City as well as the trump card expert player of the Nine Star Guild, the organizer of the expedition, Sword Ki Long River.
There was no wonder he had a Legendary Grade weapon in his hands.
Feng Luo guessed that not that many players, among the 500 on the military ship, had Legendary Grade gears. Moreover, for those who possessed them, he estimated the number to be less than ten.
For the trump card of the guild's Sword Ki Long River, a player whose ID had the word "sword" in it, the Nine-Star Guild would spend whatever was necessary to get their hands on a Legendary Grade weapon for him before the expedition.
"This Legendary Grade weapon sure seems unlucky." Feng Luo looked at "Storm City's number one master" who had switched to a purple alloy sword.
The alleged Legendary Grade golden alloy sword stuck on the giant Sea Serpent's head now, along with the sword handle, was fully submerged into its head after a series of banging and collision caused by its reaction to pain. Sword Ki Long River's sword that may be the only Legendary Grade longsword within Storm City might only be retrieved after they kill the giant Sea Serpent.
"Apart from that… From the words of this Earth Manipulator, it looks like he's quite close to Sword Ki Long River. He's probably another one of those superstar players." Feng Luo thought suddenly.
In the gap between shots, Feng Luo turned around to glance at the Earth Manipulator. He found that the face of the Earth Manipulator was certainly familiar. However, since he did not follow news about these superstar players, he quickly turned around to look at the giant Sea Serpent's status info through the sniping scope after that one glance.
"Hiss!"
By then, the giant Sea Serpent's HP had reduced to 35%.
The hundreds of players on the military ship were not there to mess around. The players faced the constraints of the environment, which made it impossible for all of them to join in the attack at once. Additionally, since most wanted to avoid accumulating the aggro, hence, the attention of the giant Sea Serpent, they did not maximize their firepower.
Despite that, they were still top, or at the very least, first-class players with the best skills and equipment available. In terms of dealing with a Level 50 Quasi-Boss grade monster, they would not have to spend too much time on it.
If it weren't for the giant Sea Serpent's 1% HP recovery per second, it might have entered the Heavy Injury status or died by then.
"34%… 32%… 29%…"
On the military ship, the giant Sea Serpent was still constantly destroying the ship's facilities and equipment as well as a few players who were unfortunate enough to accumulate too much aggro.
Just as the giant Sea Serpent swung half its body along with its head into the left side at the end of the ship's rear while pursuing a Heavy Armor Warrior, Sword Ki Long River, who was waiting on top of the defense cannon, finally moved.
"Whoosh!"
"Devastating Slash!"
As his body descended from the sky, his alloy sword slashed downward. Whether it was his speed or his movement, Sword Ki Long River's attack was almost the same as his last one.
The only difference was his target. Last time, he chose to target the giant Sea Serpent's head. This time, the Storm City's number one master chose to target its tail. The front and the end were very symmetrical.
"Slash!"
"-4334!"
With the momentum he gained from the leap from over ten meters above the ground as well as the attack and destructive power of the skill that had reached the Expert Level, the attack of this slash was in no way inferior to the attack from the Legendary Grade weapon earlier.
The 1.5-meter alloy longsword cut directly into the tail of the giant Sea Serpent which was as thick as a bucket. It perfectly thrust through the flesh and into the hard metal ground of the deck.
At the same time, the giant Sea Serpent's tail was firmly fixed onto the deck while a Weak Point Damage of over 4,000 popped up above its head.

Chapter 578: 3x Fatal Critical Hit
"Hiss!"
It was clear that the slash from the Number One superstar player of Storm City really hurt the giant Sea Serpent.
Its head that reached the end of the deck and was about to bite the Heavy Armor Warrior suddenly shrunk back. It turned around while hissing angrily, its serpent eyes staring straight at Sword Ki Long River.
It seemed to remember that the person it was staring at was the bastard who poked that sword into its head. In an instant, the giant Sea Serpent's sense of vengeance and anger had reached its peak.
Since its tail was stuck on the deck, it could not swing it at the human who injured it heavily twice. The giant Sea Serpent opened its blood-stenched mouth and charged towards Sword Ki Long River, who was still standing on the ship's deck.
"This dude really knows how to look cool. I wonder how he's going to get out of this now?" The young Earth Manipulator said, seemingly enjoying the situation, behind Feng Luo.
However, since Sword Ki Long River had the courage to do what he did, it was clear he had long predicted the giant Sea Serpent's reaction, and as such, would have a plan to deal with it.
When the giant Sea Serpent's head charged towards him, Sword Ki Long River let go of his second alloy sword and pushed the floor using his legs wearing a pair of combat boots.
His body entirely rose into the air. As the giant Sea Serpent's head reached his position, he landed bravely on its head. He leaped, though it seemed as if he did not jump again but rather glided, back onto the top of the cannon which was over ten meters tall.
"Qing Gong?" After witnessing Sword Ki Long River's movements, Feng Luo couldn't help but feel a bit dumbfounded.
The reason was that Sword Ki Long River's movement just now, at least on the surface, looked very much like Qing Gong, A type of Chinese martial art where martial artists have the ability to move swiftly and lightly at superhuman speed, and perform gravity-defying moves such as gliding on water surfaces, scaling high walls, and mounting trees.
Of course, Feng Luo knew that Light Armor Warriors did not have a skill called "Qing Gong" in the game. With regard to this, Feng Luo estimated that it was due to the Force.
However, the forum did not reveal any info about Sword Ki Long River possessing the Force. He should not have really awakened the Force. Feng Luo was so confident because for a superstar player of his caliber, if he were to awaken the Force, he or the guild would have published the news immediately to increase his popularity.
As such, it was probably a rare skill; or perhaps he had used another method.
"Hiss!"
With its "food" escaping right beside its mouth again in addition to the two stomps it received on its head, the Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent was completely enraged. Its over 40 meters long body moved and then curled around the cannon tower quickly. It charged head-first towards Sword Ki Long River, disregarding anything else around it.
However, after escaping on to the cannon, Sword Ki Long River did not stop moving. He continued to use "Qing Gong" to jump behind the cannon.
"Hiss!"
Although the Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent moved quickly, after pursuing a certain distance, it had to stop moving because its tail was locked onto the ship's deck by Sword Ki Long River's alloy sword.
Even worse was that after it curled around the cannon tower, the latter half of its body could not maximize its strength output and was not able to pull its pinned tail off from the deck.
In the end, the giant Sea Serpent had succeeded in restraining its own movement.
The players on the military ship quickly threw their attacks at the giant Sea Serpent. Who would ever miss a chance like this?
"Bang!"
"5450!"
"Did he calculate and plan all this? Or is this just a coincidence?" Asked an intrigued Feng Luo as he fired another shot that took out over 5,000 of the giant serpent's HP.
"He he, it's definitely planned. However, he's not the one who planned it. It's definitely Nine-Star Guild's members specialized in tactical planning who planned it. You can't underestimate a large guild like this. They have all kinds of weird and niche talents in there." The young Earth Manipulator beside Feng Luo said with a smug look. As he spoke, his energy converter kept flashing as he prepared another skill.
From Feng Luo's position, he could see a ball of earth energy condensing quickly above a cannon tower beside the giant Sea Serpent. The ball of earth energy was gradually transforming into a pillar through the Energy Formation skill.
"Hiss!"
As a Quasi-Boss, the giant Sea Serpent's AI was not low. After noticing that it was stuck, it quickly retracted its head and began to retreat from the cannon tower.
Its attention was focused on itself. Naturally, it failed to notice the energy attack being prepared in the sky.
"Whoosh!"
Halfway through retracting its head, a large "Rock Pillar" that had a diameter of about five meters descended hard and fast from the sky above the cannon tower.
By the time the giant Sea Serpent's head reached the cannon tower, the bottom of the large rock pillar slammed right into its head.
"Bam!"
"-4267!"
It was natural for a cylindrical rock pillar falling from tens of meters above to possess a devastating attack.
As an Earth Manipulator, which was a profession that was not great at attacks, dealing such damage was definitely amazing.
Apart from defense, it seemed as if this Earth Manipulator's attack was just as powerful.
"-2345!"
More importantly, the attack coincidentally fell on the spot where the Legendary Grade alloy sword was. Apart from cracking its skull and causing the giant Sea Serpent's head to bleed profusely, the attack also pushed the Legendary Grade alloy sword deeper into its head, which dealt additional damage.
"29%…"
The giant Sea Serpent's HP had officially dropped below 30%.
To much surprise, the energy rock pillar that descended from the sky was quite devastating. The giant Sea Serpent that should have displayed its brutality after getting hit had become immobile due to the pain and dizziness it felt from the attack. Its head stopped moving for a while as it rested on top of the cannon.
"This… This is pure luck. It's not planned, I only planned to attack its body wrapped around the cannon. Who'd have thought that it would move its head there?" The young Earth Manipulator said after Feng Luo turned around to look at him curiously. He spoke wryly though failing to hide his pride.
Whether it was pure luck or planned, the giant Sea Serpent was temporarily stunned. Without a shred of doubt, it was a great surprise.
As the saying went "Take your life when you are ill." To all the top players from Storm City on the military ship, the situation was as clear as day.
"Rumble… Whoosh…"
In an instant, an incredible amount of attacks flew towards the giant Sea Serpent.
"25%… 20%… 15%…"
The giant serpent's HP decreased significantly in an instant. In just two seconds, it had reached the "Weakened" stage.
Earlier, everyone was simply being wary, most players prioritized their survival, so when they attacked, they were more worried about the accumulated aggro. However, right now, since the giant Sea Serpent's HP had been reduced to this level, they only needed a few more seconds to kill it. In such a situation, it was natural for them to not hold back anymore.
It was, after all, just a Quasi-Boss. No matter how strong it was, it was impossible for it to survive the full-strength attacks of a bunch of high-level players.
"Bang!"
"-3056!"
"-32550!"
A golden special font critical damage appeared. The yellow damage number was a stark contrast from all the white numbers popping up.
The B-Grade Double Armor-piercing Round accurately struck at the heart of the giant Sea Serpent that had been cut and battered by the targeted attacks of various players.
The second damage from the bullet also activated Wings of Death's 30% critical rate attribute.
"This… is quite lucky." Feng Luo turned around and glanced at the already wide-eyed Earth Manipulator.

Chapter 579: Underwater, Kill!
The Earth Manipulator was speechless for a moment.
As a star player, he had seen enough Snipers with high output. But he had never seen such a cruel one before, causing over 35,000 damage on a Quasi-Boss with just one shot. Even if it was just a one-time attack, it was impossible to achieve that with just luck.
"Crap!" After glaring at Feng Luo, the Earth Manipulator's eyes suddenly changed to stare behind Feng Luo, and he could not help but exclaim again.
Although Feng Luo's shot had just reduced the giant Sea Serpent's health to below 15%, it had completely awoken the giant Sea Serpent from its daze.
The alert Quasi-Boss could no longer focus its rage and vengeance on Feng Luo. Or was the Earth Manipulator's Stone Pillar also a part of it?
The outcome now was that the Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent, which was already low on health, had once again given up on everyone else.
Twisting its gigantic body, it charged towards the direction of the two of them, not charging by slithering on the deck but "leaping" like when it was on the warship. This time, it probably was really absolutely enraged.
"Hiss!"
The serpent was not bothered by the Rare Alloy Sword stabbed into its tail anymore as it violently shook it off, resulting in its tail being split in half down the middle by the alloy sword blade, leaving a huge section of its moving tail on the deck.
"Splash!"
They could not react in time before the serpent's gigantic body had leapt into the air and crashed down at the position of Feng Luo and the Earth Manipulator.
The great impact had broken the cabin wall, and it dived head-first into the sea.
"No good, it's escaping!"
There would not be too many people concerned about the situation with Feng Luo and the Earth Manipulator other than the two of them.
At the intention of this giant serpent in rage which fell into the sea due to overexertion, there were quite a few people who had quickly realized it.
The health of this Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent was below 10%. Its behavior just now could be better said to be jumping at the chance to escape than to attack.
Don't look down on the AI of Boss-Grade creatures in War; the intelligence of some high-grade creatures was not inferior to humans at all.
This giant Sea Serpent had realized that its health had endangered its life right after it was awakened from its faintness, and thus did not intend to attack anyone at all and only had the goal of escaping.
Although its health was extremely low, this gray limitless sea was its best protection.
If it just entered the water, the players on the warship would have no way of clearing its last-remaining health of not more than a few tens of thousands.
"Da, da, da…"
"Bombs on….bomb…"
"F*ck, it really escaped!"
Upon realizing that the giant Sea Serpent wanted to escape, the players on the warship rapidly focused their firepower, firing at the small part of its body still exposed at the surface of the water.
It was a pity that the players' reaction was ultimately too late.
The Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent's health had once again fallen to less than 5% in this round of attack and had completely fallen into "heavily injured" state which stripped it of its movement ability.
However, it made use of its full-power speed-up from the start, completely submerging the last section of its broken tail into the seawater. The bullets and skills following closely behind it and being shot into the water only resulted in a bunch of "-1, -1" nominal damage coefficients.
The seawater with high resistance completely weakened bullets and Energy skills to nothing.
This Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent with just 5% of health left had escaped right before the eyes of many top players.
…
In the sea where it was all gray and darker the deeper it went, a giant Sea Serpent with a body size of over 40 meters continuously sank down.
However, looking closely, one could see that at a spot on the giant Sea Serpent's body, a black figure in combat attire was firmly clinging on.
"Gurgle!"
Feng Luo let out a breath of air from his mouth, forming a large number of air bubbles. From the Black Eagle gloves on his hands, five eagle claw-like hooked blade-shaped structures reached out, tightly hooked onto the giant Sea Serpent's palm-sized scales.
Despite the giant Sea Serpent's rapid diving motion just now due to being in a rush to escape, it could not shake him off.
The giant Sea Serpent did not have the ability to continue speeding up in its diving now, as after it desperately entered the water, the players' last less than one second of mad attacking had made its health fall to just over 3%.
Being heavily injured, the giant Sea Serpent's health recovery was greatly slowed down.
Despite having entered the water for more than 10 seconds, it still was not free from its heavily injured state and did not have the ability to shake off Feng Luo who was tightly holding on and diving down with it.
The giant Sea Serpent probably would not think that the last deliberate counter of fleeing had rather attracted a killer.
"Gurgle!"
Feng Luo breathed out as he took out the Ghost Weep military knife from his tactical belt and started to climb towards the giant serpent's heart.
The giant Sea Serpent's speed had become free-falling; he no longer needed to hold on to catch up with the giant Sea Serpent's speed, and as for his purpose of following it down into the sea, there was no need to say.
An immobilized Quasi-Boss – what a huge temptation.
"Stab!"
Feeling the position of the giant Sea Serpent's heart, Feng Luo held onto Ghost Weep in reverse in his hand and violently stabbed downward.
"-1033!"
The damage was not considered to be too high; although Ghost Weep's 30-centimeter blade was considered long among military knives, facing this giant Sea Serpent with an enormous body size, it was still a little insufficient. Although he had accurately aimed at the heart, he was unable to straightaway stab out lethal damage.
Additionally, the resistance in the water was not low, thus the resultant damage coefficient was only a fraction.
"Stab, stab, stab…"
"-1023, -1034, -988…"
Although Feng Luo continuously stabbed with Ghost Weep, it only caused the giant Sea Serpent's less than 4% of health to fall gradually.
"-300, -310, -320…"
Amidst the continuous stabbing, above Feng Luo's head he also saw an emergence of a bunch of health reduction coefficients.
This was not due to the giant Sea Serpent's counterattacks but because the sensations that the environments in War gave were highly realistic; since it was underwater, humans naturally could not breathe freely.
These continuous large movements were the most consuming of the oxygen stored in the bloodstream, let alone the fact that he was now in a position 70 or 80 meters underwater, while rapidly descending, the great change in water pressure was also a huge challenge.
While the giant Sea Serpent's health was continuously falling, Feng Luo's health was similarly continuously decreasing.
"1000, 1000…"
However, to others, this was definitely an extremely huge problem – they probably would have been dead before even killing the giant Sea Serpent.
Feng Luo was different; with his Force recovery engaged, not only his health but also the sensation of seriously lacking oxygen was rapidly relieved as well. The Force was indeed useful.
"Stab, stab, stab…"
"-1099, -1164, -987…"
It was more than 100 meters below in following the giant Sea Serpent sinking; as the transparency of the gray ocean region was too low, the surrounding brightness had become very dark.
If it was not for Feng Luo having sight enhancement, he probably would be unable to see the giant Sea Serpent's body clearly.
"Stab!"
"-1454!"
However, with another stab hitting straight at the heart where the giant Sea Serpent's abdomen area was already wounded, caused lethal damage. This Level 50 Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent's health was finally cleared out.
[You have killed Overlord Sea Serpent (Level 50 – Quasi-Boss creature), killing contribution: 15.3%. XP earned: 3060, Merit earned: 5.]
"Hua!"
The moment the system message flashed past, Feng Luo's vision changed in color…
In the environment of darkness 100 meters underwater, a huge amount of the glow of prizes appeared in an instant.
It had exploded, and it was a huge explosion.

Chapter 580: Skill Enhancement Chip
Deep underwater, it had brightened. The white light radiating from dozens of prizes illuminated the huge area.
As a Level 50 Quasi-Boss, the loot produced this time were not stingy at all; although most of the things were low-grade Energy Crystals with a low monetary value, there were also a few pieces of equipment and a few types of Rare material.
For a Quasi-Boss, regardless whether it was equipment or material, they definitely had high value. Not to mention that there would be at least one piece of Rare equipment and the quality of Rare material would be good.
However, Feng Luo's focus at the moment was not on these equipment and material. It was on the exceptionally bright orange light in the middle of the bunch of white light.
"Legendary? How's this possible?" Feng Luo suspected if his eyes had seen incorrectly.
Looking at the collection during this period of time, only Bosses of Level 50 and above would have a certain chance of producing Legendary equipment. To guarantee the chance, one had to kill "super Bosses" of Level 55 and above.
This giant Sea Serpent was not above Level 50, and was only a Quasi-Boss; furthermore, it was not killed by one person or a small number of players, there was no possibility of deluxe items. No matter how it was seen, it was impossible for this Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent to produce Legendary equipment.
What surprised him was that all the prizes floated in the water, unmoving; while that orange light seemed to be churned by the seawater, shifting towards him.
"Hm, this thing looks like…" Feng Luo immediately saw what this loot radiating an orange light was.
It was not a piece of equipment but a Chip he had previously seen before, a Force Skill-Fusion Chip.
The first system reward for Feng Luo's Force Awakening was a Skill Fusion Chip – its capability was being able to upgrade a skill into a powerful Force skill.
Since the prize had automatically moved to him, Feng Luo certainly took it.
[Force Skill-Fusion Chip]
Upon usage, the player gains the ability to upgrade an existing skill into a Force skill. The skill's ultimate effect would be determined by the compatibility between the player's Force attribute and the upgraded skill.
(Pick-up requirement: kill contribution of 10%, bound upon pick-up, not to be transacted or dropped.)
The attribute was the same as the previous Skill Fusion Chip, but this one had a "bound upon pick-up" message in its attribute and had pick-up requirements.
"I see…no wonder at the Exchange previously, there was no Force Skill-Fusion Chip for sale at all…" Seeing the Chip attribute, Feng Luo quickly understood why this would float to him on its own.
Even though it was a prize, among the players who participated in killing the giant Sea Serpent, only he fulfilled the "contribution of 10%."
Just now, both Sword Ki Long River and the Earth Manipulator, although they had played quite a big role in taking down the giant Sea Serpent, as the number of people who participated was too large, their overall contribution could not possibly exceed 5%.
Other than his overall output damage being the highest among the solo players, he was able to have such a high contribution most importantly because of the fact that he followed the Sea Serpent underwater and killed it.
After all, if it was not for him who had given chase, the giant Sea Serpent probably would have successfully escaped – then what else was there to say about the kill?
Furthermore, as the last attack was completely on him, he had gotten an additional 5%, allowing his contribution to exceed 15%.
"Not just the contribution, there's also the restriction of pick-up bound. This way, the value of this type of skill upgrade Chip probably would not be much inferior to Legendary equipment." Seeing the last line of the Chip attribute, Feng Luo had speedily considered some information.
Initially, he had thought that the value of this Chip was not up to that of Legendary equipment.
After all, Legendary equipment technically could only come from Bosses, while this type of Force Skill-Fusion Chip was able to be produced by Quasi-Bosses as well.
Seeing the requirements of obtaining this Force Awakening Chip, Feng Luo knew that this certainly had quite some restriction.
While facing a Quasi-Boss creature of Level 50 and above, there would not be many people who had the ability to solely get a contribution of 10% and above in the kill, let alone the restriction of bound upon pick-up which dashed any hopes of purchasing it from the Exchange or from auctions.
Although Legendary equipment had high value, they were all able to be transacted; to rich players, all their Legendary equipment of tomorrow were not considered too huge a problem at all.
Thus, the gap in ability between rich players and truly top players would not be too large in the future.
After all, it was a game, equipment was definitely more welcomed.
However, the difficulty of getting a Force Skill-Fusion Chip was so large, and it was still pick-up bounded.
Feng Luo knew that even if there was a comparison between rich players and truly top players in future, there would definitely still be a gap in ability.
This was a rather good thing…
Feng Luo put the skill enhancement Chip into his backpack; other things were fine to let go of, but he would not give this to anyone.
In fact, what Feng Luo did not know was that there was another criterion for this Force Skill-Fusion Chip gotten from a Boss. That was for it to have a possibility of being produced, there must be a player with Force who had made much contribution in the process of killing the Boss.
…
As Feng Luo put the Force Skill-Fusion Chip into his backpack, the prizes that had levitated for a while started to float up towards the water surface above.
The prizes produced from monsters above the water surface would float on the water surface for some time regardless of their density – this was to make it convenient for players to pick up the equipment.
However, in the process of the huge number of prizes floating up with their white light, Feng Luo discovered that it seemed like there was a flash of a golden light of reflection in the dark depths below where the giant Sea Serpent had sunken.
"A golden light…" Feng Luo thought of something and turned to quickly swim down to the giant Sea Serpent below once more.
…
A minute later, Feng Luo emerged from the water surface.
What he saw was a calm sea, and the warship not far away, reversed and was rescuing the players who had fallen into the water.
The Level 55 Quasi-Boss Shark Turtle was nowhere to be seen.
On the water's surface, quite a few players were scattered.
Knowing that this movement had to first go through the gray sea region, the players had been prepared – almost everyone had swimming devices in their backpacks.
As such, without the Shark Turtle's attacks, they did not have to worry that they would drown and die before the warship came to their rescue.
"Wow, brother, you've finally come up." As Feng Luo's head emerged from the water, a familiar voice sounded from beside.
On a small semi-transparent yellow boat formed from Earth Energy by the "Energy Formation" skill, a young Earth Manipulator was staring at Feng Luo with interest.

Chapter 581: Storm City's Number Two Expert, Zhao Yun!
"Hello gorgeous lady, hello little girl…" Half an hour later, in a room on the warship, Feng Luo looked helpless as he watched the young Earth Manipulator making friendly greetings to Phoenix and Digital Cat.
This fellow's ability of being so naturally friendly was beyond his expectation.
Other than previously chatting for a bit when they were waiting for rescue in the sea for a period of time after being knocked into the sea by the giant Sea Serpent, the two did not do anything else.
In the end, this fellow had changed from calling him "brother" to "Old Feng" in just this period of time chatting.
"Old Feng, who's this guy? Feels a bit familiar." In the room, another person who addressed him as "Old Feng" expressed his dissatisfaction at the exclusive title being snatched away.
Big Pineapple looked guarded as he stared at the Earth Manipulator with a handsome gigolo face, clearly contrasting to his own appearance and vibe.
"Zhao Yun…y'all should hear this name." Feng Luo introduced him to the few people in the room.
Yes, Zhao Yun!
When Feng Luo first knew of this fellow's name, he had to admit that he felt that it was strange.
Although Zhao Yun was far from "Zhao Yun," most Chinese players would probably have a good feeling with this name.
Could it be a reason why the approval between the two of them had improved so unscientifically?
"Zhao Yun, one of Storm City's top 10 star players, nicknamed 'Shell God.' His Talent is an S-Grade Talent related to the 'Energy Formation.' He had previously dominated the star player ability ranking for 14 days and half an hour. Due to having been effortlessly beaten by Sword Ki Long River three days ago in the arena active invitation battle, he has fallen to second place on the ability ranking now, facing the threat of being overtaken by the third place in the near future…" Zhao Yun greeted mockingly, while Digital Cat had a cold face as she quickly stated some information.
Feng Luo knew that this reaction should have been triggered by that greeting of "little girl."
Although Digital Cat was no older than 17, her psyche and thought processing were very matured; she did not like being given such a title as "little girl" by a stranger.
"Cough, cough…little girl, I suppose what you said was too biased. What do you mean effortlessly beaten? Clearly my ability and that brat's are on par, and my ability is practically better than his. It was just that he hid a trump card, hm…actually I was too careless then… Storm City's number two expert." Zhao Yun touched his nose, his face quickly becoming slightly awkward.
However, as he said this, his eyes glancing at Digital Cat was a little surprised.
Although this information definitely could be searched up on the forum, Digital Cat did not check the forum as she said this but had remembered it by heart.
"Shell God? Hm, this nickname is rather…chic, is there any origin?" Phoenix on the other hand was a little shocked at the nickname of 'Shell God.'
She was not actually a Storm City player; because of little Sally's mission, she had been staying in Storm City these days.
With the Nine Star Guild's activity this time, she had rather stayed put, and so had moved to Storm City. She was not familiar with the "Storm City's top 10 star players" and what-not.
"Cough, cough…well…" Zhao Yun coughed again and looked speechless.
As Storm City's best star player, although it was all high-end players on this warship, he sensed that he should have gotten a few unexpected surprises and looks upon revealing his ID.
After all, he was an ability ranking player, not those fakes on the popularity ranking; the more one was an expert, the better one's ability was.
He had not thought that the reactions of a gorgeous lady and a beautiful little girl in this room would have been different from what he had expected.
Who knew why one of them was cold-faced and the other had asked a question that had made him go crazy.
Why was Shell God called "Shell God?"
Zhao Yun was crying inside.
Everyone was called Cold Edge, Shadow, Sword God, Snipe King and what not…why was his nickname so wrecked?
"Hm, my nickname and what not…gorgeous lady, you haven't told me your name." As Zhao Yun spoke halfway, he abruptly switched the topic.
"Phoenix."
"Ah, so you're the gorgeous lady Phoenix who has Storm City's first Quasi-Boss pet? I've heard that your pet is a very…"
…
A few minutes later, after being praised a bit by this Storm City's number two expert Zhao Yun, Big Pineapple was about to address him as "Old Zhao" already.
Even Phoenix almost let down her guard in front of strangers.
Of course, it was except Digital Cat who had been immersed in repairing "Arnold."
"You have a message!" Just then, Feng Luo's Communicator rang.
"General Red, what's up?" Feng Luo picked up.
"Mister Feng, there's something I'd like to discuss with y'all. For this reclamation, once in the ruins, how about we move together?" Red Queen's voice sounded.
"Move together…" Feng Luo's heart lurched.
In this ruins reclamation, although there was a total of 500 people, not everyone was grouped together.
Especially that the casual players would be individually split into groups.
What Red Queen meant was that since everyone knew one another, why not group together. This way, it would be easier to cooperate than being grouped with people they did not know well, and they would be able to be more trusting towards one another.
"Well…hold on, I'll ask the others for their opinion." Feng Luo was agreeable to Red Queen's idea.
After all, the abilities of Red Queen and her people were not poor, and Feng Luo was very familiar with their combat style, as everyone had cooperated before.
However, there were some decisions that Feng Luo would never directly make for Phoenix and the others.
"General Red's side is preparing to form a group with us once the reclamation starts, and would like to hear from us…" Thus, Feng Luo first set the Communicator to hidden mode, then turned to speak to the people in the room.
"Form a group? If they grouped with us, then there'd be two Snipers, two Manipulators, two Light Armored Warriors, one Medic, one Scout and one Heavy Armored Warrior…the dynamics work, I don't object." Digital Cat looked up and said after pondering for a few seconds.
"From the battle just now, their people's performance was not bad, I think we can consider…" Phoenix nodded.
"Hey, if we're really together, then wouldn't more than half the team be all little girls…" Big Pineapple looked like his focus was completely different, with a face of joy.
"Really?…Old Feng, what about adding me!" Zhao Yun's face lit up.
"Why, you haven't gotten a team?" Feng Luo looked towards Zhao Yun, surprised.
"I'm a casual player, not a guild player, of course I'd have no team. There's quite some people who want to rope me in, but…you know, I'm not good with just anyone, and I don't like to entertain others either…" Zhao Yun looked troubled.
As one whose ability was at the top end and who was a non-guild player, there were many people who would invite him.
As there were too many invites, he did not know which team of guild players to join.
He would not like to join typical teams of casual players, although they were also casual players, his familiarity with the casual players on this warship was not up to that with some guild players.
Furthermore, if teams were completely put together with casual players, the cooperation and trust within would definitely be a problem.
Of course, expressing that he wanted to join Feng Luo and the others, Zhao Yun's consideration was of course not without motives.
An important reason was that he was satisfied with the abilities of the three of them, Feng Luo, Big Pineapple, and Phoenix.
Although it was all Storm City's top players participating in the reclamation this time, abilities could still be differentiated into good and poor.
Just like how the performance of Feng Luo and the others in the arena previously would have been ranked at the top 100 on this warship based on overall ability.
If considering Phoenix's Quasi-Boss pet and Feng Luo's rad damage from before, this team's ability was not inferior to the teams of guild players.

Chapter 582: Force
"You have a message!" Right after Feng Luo had replied to Red Queen and hung up on the Communicator, the Communicator rang again.
"Mister Feng, there's some matters, not sure if I could meet you to discuss in person?" A smiley Nine-Star Guild vice-director Zi Wei appeared on the huge screen.
…..
"Mister Feng, please sit." In a room on the top floor of the warship modified into a guest room, Zi Wei stood up to welcome Feng Luo in.
In this room, there were two other players: a youth at around 20-years-old in a combat suit and wearing tactical glasses, and a Light Armored Warrior in a full-set silver armor, whose extraordinarily handsome face with sharp eyebrows, crescent eyes, and a sharp nose was revealed when he lifted his helmet. Storm City's number one star player, Sword Ki Long River.
"Mister Feng, thank you for previously helping me take back my weapon from that Quasi-Boss, many thanks." As Feng Luo entered from the door, Sword Ki Long River instantly spoke with a grateful tone.
But as he spoke, there was not much of a change in expression on his face.
He was not like the other Scout player who had smiled to Feng Luo, neither did he have an almighty vibe of seeing himself as a top star player.
"No need to thank, it was just convenient for me…" Seeing Sword Ki Long River's attitude, Feng Luo smiled as he shook his head, without an unhappy expression as he just studied Sword Ki Long River with slight curiosity.
He had heard long before that this "Storm City's number one expert" was a person with quite a strange personality.
Although he was a star player, he normally did not interact much with people other than at mandatory activities arranged by the guild. He spent all his free time on upgrading skills and improving his own ability.
Towards anyone, even the Nine-Star Guild director, his attitude was always extremely flat and even cold.
Simply speaking, this Storm City's "number one expert" was a person with a completely opposite personality from Zhao Yun the "second expert" who was a natural with people.
There was even a legend that no player had ever seen Sword Ki Long River smile.
There was even a boss who previously had spent a billion credits to invite him for endorsement, and the request was to have Sword Ki Long River cooperate and smile once during the filming of the advertisement.
In the end, just after glaring at him, Sword Ki Long River turned straight and no longer bothered about the Commander monster which was still in battle, and left.
In the end, it had resulted in the wipe-out of the filming team.
Then, the Nine Star Guild had to pay huge costs for the breach of contract.
Logically speaking, a person with such a personality was not suitable to be a star player at all, as star players had to know how to cater to fans, and no one had ever seen a star with "facial paralysis," right?
There were many normal players who saw this as their cup of tea, nicknames like "Cold-Faced Sword God" or "Chilly Husband" were much more chased by female players than "Shell God."
After saying one statement to Feng Luo, Sword Ki Long River swiftly stopped speaking and stood to the side silently.
"Mister Feng, don't mind Old Sword, his personality is just like that… he really wants to thank you properly, if not, his weapon might have been marked as lost by the system."
The youth in the combat suit at the side was a little afraid that Feng Luo would misunderstand, and immediately stepped forward to shake Feng Luo's hand as he said with a smile.
The equipment in War taken away by fleeing monsters was a situation more rarely seen; typically in such situations, the equipment would automatically return to the backpack after a period of time.
However, there was a chance that the equipment would be marked as "lost," and it would not be able to come back.
Although the chance was not high, Feng Luo reclaiming the sword had completely avoided this possibility. If a Legendary Grade weapon was really lost, then the loss would definitely be huge to the Nine-Star Guild.
"I haven't asked for guidance…" Hearing the voice of this youth in the combat suit, Feng Luo knew that he was in the Nine-Star Guild battle command in the channel just now.
"Frontline Command." The youth in the combat suit smiled and introduced himself.
"Frontline is a Hidden Mission on-field commanding officer, able to collect huge amounts of battle and player stats while in battle… but not greater than Mister Feng's Agent." At the side, Zi Wei interrupted with a smile, seemingly unintentionally.
"Hidden Mission…" Feng Luo's pupils constricted, and he turned to look towards Zi Wei.
What Zi Wei said was of course with some meaning of humility.
Although Hidden Professions in War were not sure to be more powerful than the combat power of normal professions, they were not weak – the most important thing was to have the unique abilities of each profession.
This on-field commanding officer could be known from the name to be of a profession suitable for on-field commanding.
Such a profession was not up to Agents in single unit strengthening, but its effects would be huge to reclamation and team battles which needed team competition.
Especially when it was a professional Hidden Profession player who had taken up command – this was not revealed before to the participating people at all by the Nine-Star Guild.
Clearly it was to wait until they had officially battled with the North City players and had caused some unexpected effect.
However, despite being strictly secretive about it previously, she had then directly told him who was considerably not a very well-acquainted person.
Clearly, Zi Wei had something to say.
After all, since she had specially met here, it was definitely impossible for it just to be to express thanks for the retrieval of the golden longsword.
"Mister Feng, could I dare ask if you've already awakened your Force?" Seeing Feng Luo's inquiring look, Zi Wei smiled and paused slightly before saying.
"Sure." Feng Luo did not feel strange that Zi Wei would ask about Force; he felt that this matter of Force Awakening was very easy to be discovered as long as one had the passion.
With just a Scout player finding out that his Level had exceeded Level 50 using Detection, one would be able to get this conclusion.
Furthermore, it would definitely be revealed in this battle in front of Red Queen and the others, thus Feng Luo did not have the intention of hiding but openly admitted.
"Indeed…" Frontline Command revealed an "I see" expression.
As expected, Zi Wei looked a little shocked, and even Sword Ki Long River's expressionless face had finally looked towards Feng Luo with a little change.
"Since so, things would be better handled." Following that, Frontline Command said happily.
"Hm?" Feng Luo did not interrupt but just quietly waited for the other party to continue on.
"Mister Feng, let's not keep secrets. I've asked you this as Communicators will experience serious disruptions in this ruin and would only be able to be effective within a small range. However, Frontline has gotten a device set from his Hidden Mission which can empower communication, but this instrument set needs to be engaged by a Force to unleash all of its capabilities…" When Zi Wei spoke to this point, Feng Luo understood.
A device that needed the Force to be activated – this was clearly some Legendary Grade tool.
This was also a reason why Zi Wei and the others had invited Feng Luo over after confirming that Feng Luo had awakened his Force.
"What will you need me to do?" Feng Luo creased his forehead slightly, then asked the three Nine-Star Guild people.
"It's actually very simple, you just have to…" Involving his own job, Frontline Command immediately explained Feng Luo, while Zi Wei added on from aside.
"Mister Feng, when this activity is over, could I invite you to a round of PK." As Feng Luo, Zi Wei, and Frontline Command were ready to leave upon finishing the discussion about the instrument, Sword Ki Long River who had not been speaking suddenly spoke.
"Well…" Feng Luo did not expect that Sword Ki Long River would suddenly ask this.
His competition with Black Panther had not happened and he had been invited to a battle again by Storm City's number one expert player?
If he had really fought with Sword Ki Long River, regardless whether the outcome was a win or loss, if the news was spread, it was possible that he would quickly become famous in the entire Storm City when the battle had not even started.
This was a pretty huge clash with his style of staying in low-profile.
"Mister Feng, it'll be a private competition… there would be no one spectating." Although Sword Ki Long River did not like to build rapport with people, clearly it was not that he was not good with people as he had seen what Feng Luo was pondering about.
"If so, then when I'm free…" Feng Luo nodded, taking interest.
…
"We're prepared to find Invikill this time… this way it'd be better. After all, Invikill ultimately belongs to September." After Feng Luo had left, Frontline Command said to Zi Wei with a smile.
"Right, this way, the second player who has awakened Force has appeared. The previous two were both in our Storm City. Old Sword, why don't you work hard and must well find a third one?" After which, he seemed like he had thought of something else and said to Sword Ki Long River at a side with a chuckle.
"The second one? You think Invikill is the first?" Zi Wei watched Feng Luo's leaving silhouette and said with a sense of mockery in her pair of slightly purple eyes.
"Hm, is he not." Frontline Command froze.
"Might not be… Invikill is only Level 52, while Mister Feng is Level 53, not really sure who's first and last. Furthermore, the origin of Invikill's Force; don't forget, there were people hawking for the chance to be the first to awaken Force at that time, although there was no evidence. The time that Invikill awakened his Force was really too coincidental… Besides, the person who sold the chance to be 'War's first to awaken the Force' was Onishi, of the Hidden Agent Profession…"

Chapter 583: Arrival, Fog Island, Level 60 Monster
In the bright and sunny sky, the sun had slanted greatly to the West.
On the limitless gray sea, a gray warship started to slow down.
"We've finally arrived!" On the deck of the warship, Big Pineapple was all suited up, and spoke as he put down his military binoculars. "We've traveled on the sea for more than a day, and other than the two Quasi-Bosses we encountered yesterday, we haven't met any threatening monster after that; this is pretty boring. That's the destination, the land area doesn't look very small."
The others were not bothered by Big Pineapple's reckless words. Yesterday, because of the school of Knifefish and two Quasi-Bosses, the members of the team had been reduced by quite a lot.
If they were to unfortunately have another encounter, they would have no ability to compete with the North City people.
Phoenix raised her binoculars to observe the area covered in dense fog exposed from the water surface a distance away.
Around two to three kilometers from the warship, what was within sight, was not the typical situation on an island in the sea but a huge area of gray fog.
"Everyone please take note, ahead are the ruins for this reclamation, Devil Tri-Horn Fog Island. This region has serious disruption zones, many electronic devices will be affected upon entering these regions. In the daytime, there'll be huge amounts of fog, the brighter the sun the denser the fog, and it'll only disperse once the sun sets; which means we can only dock the island in the evening, and that our main operations must be engaged in the night." From the guidance channel came the voice of Frontline Command. "A night environment for long-range professions is really not too friendly."
Wearing an Energy robe with a design that was old-fashioned to the max but was a piece of Legendary equipment unable to catch anyone's eyes, Zhao Yun stretched lazily.
They had known long before from the information given by the Nine-Star Guild that this ruin had a unique environment.
Through the scope, looking at the dense fog where the visibility was less than two meters, Feng Luo still felt like this reclamation was perhaps more challenging than imagined.
If it were other fog-like types like smoke bombs, Wind Manipulators could blow it away, but if it were such a huge fog which covered several kilometers, dream on then, just wait it out.
Half an hour later, the sun finally slowly descended to the other side of the foggy region.
It could be seen with the naked eye that the density of the fog on their side had started to reduce quickly.
"Everyone, let's start preparing. Wait until the fog has dispersed to a certain degree and we'll start docking on the island. I need to remind you that the water surrounding this island has huge amounts of reef rock inside, so the warship can only go close to around one kilometer, then we'll reach the island by small boats. Also, in the surrounding water, after the sun completely sets and before it rises, there would be some monsters capable of overturning assault boats appearing, so even though there's no dense fog at night, there's seemingly no way of leaving the island. Everyone, please take note of this!" In the command channel, Frontline Command reminded them once again.
This was a restriction set by the system in order to make players unable to leave the island easily.
In addition to the setting that players would lose the prizes they had obtained on the island upon death, it had made the players of the two main cities even more unable to choose to cooperate.
"Sou, sou, sou…"
At the edge of the warship, many players started taking out their transport tools.
Knowing the environment of this mission, most of the people changed their vehicles from cars to boats.
Assault boats, hovercrafts, motorboats… all shapes and sizes of transport tools filled the surrounding water surface in an instant.
Initially it was just a lone warship, but it quickly became a little like an aircraft carrier formation.
"Mister Feng, let's go together." Glazed Ice from Red Queen's team retrieved a transparent glass assault boat sufficient for 10 people.
"Hey, y'all go ahead, I'll take my own." Big Pineapple smiled smugly and retrieved a well-textured grayish-black streamlined motorboat.
It was a Swordfish-Type S, priced at more than 1,500,000 credits. It was one of the fastest in War and could be said to be a "land bullet" in water, was highly flashy, but with the only flaw of being able to accommodate two people.
"It's a little squeezy over there with 10 people, come sit in mine." Zhao Yun took out his own transport tool which was a pure metallic heavyweight assault boat with thick and heavy armor and a naval ram structured hull.
It was a Black Shark-7000 – its defense power was able to absorb even the explosions of mini-sized torpedoes as long as it was not directly hit, and its power performance was even better.
Its price was great too – over 8,000,000 credits, and required Energy Crystals of C-Grade and above to be driven, definitely the most expensive assault boat.
Big Pineapple, who was initially a little smug, was instantly speechless.
…
Two speedboats and a motorboat carrying over 10 players started traveling towards the island.
Half of the fog within view had dispersed, a yellow beach stretched along the shore was visible.
With a distance of almost a kilometer, of course much time had been spent.
When Feng Luo and the others had travelled halfway in the first batch of boats that moved off, the boats of all the Nine-Star Guild players in charge of recce, was only 100 meters from the island.
Just then, the frontmost boat suddenly halted. The Energy Converter of the Fire Manipulator in the leading team started lighting up.
"Eh, they're really careful, prepared to clear out the docking point first?" Big Pineapple said.
The previous time, when they were on Silverleaf Island, they had almost fallen into the trap of the poisonous scorpion hidden under the sand.
This time, the Nine-Star Guild team had a huge number of Scouts, able to discover any hidden crisis in advance.
Even if they did not discover any crisis, they could choose to use a skill to recce first.
"Boom, boom…"
A huge amount of Fire Energy took the skies at the beach and at the forest behind the beach, smoke-erupting Energy Fireballs and dancing starry fire rain falling from the sky.
The Fire Manipulator Level 40 ultimate move – Meteor Rain.
Moreover, it was a skill unleashed by a huge number of Fire Manipulators, the complete-powered "Meteor Rain" which greatly increased the density of the Fire Energy within a certain region, enough to offset all the skill reducing sea environmental factors.
"Splat, splat, splat…"
The fireballs dotting the sky fell, the beach above the sky, where the fog had not completely dispersed, becoming fiery red.
"-2001, -2123, -2434…"
After the smoky fireballs landed and the wide beach exploded, the beach that was initially empty instantly saw huge numbers of damage coefficients emerging. At the same time, the silhouettes of large numbers of creatures of about more than a meter long appeared one by one.
"Hypertoxic Chameleon, Level 60 monster, average health 12000, has great camouflaging and environmental color imitation abilities!" On the glass boat which had entered the range for effective Detection and was travelling in the same line as Red Queen and her people on the Black Shark heavy boat, a slim female Scout player quickly reported the monster's information.

Chapter 584: Pseudo-Environment, Chameleons
"I can tell it's an environmental camouflage."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
These lizards were standing on the surface of the beach but even Feng Luo was unable to notice them just by looking with the naked eye. It could be said that they had totally changed their bodies with the sand's color.
As burning meteors and fiery rain fell continuously from the sky, the surface of the beach had turned into a different situation.
A lizard-shaped creature appeared, densely covering the entire beach, and the color of its body became the same as the energy flame that had spread, it was identical to the radiation emitted from the burning flame. You might forget that War is a technological online game just by looking at this situation.
Feng Luo thought that if they were playing a magical game, then these lizards would be the "flame elemental dragons" formed by the fire element, because the scene that was unfolding right in front of them was truly gorgeous.
"Boom, boom…"
"-2003, -2344, -2133…"
However, no matter how strong their environmental camouflage tricks were, they could not escape the tricks which covered the range of the entire beach from the elementalists.
A black-smoked fireball exploded on the beach, causing each of the fiery "fire elemental dragons" to lose their health points rapidly from each attack.
Just from the first attack on the island, Feng Luo could tell that the coordination capabilities within the Nine-Star Guild players were far superior as compared to the normal players. There were more than thirty fire elementalists attacking together, but between each player's skill coverage, none of which were overlapping, which maximized the effectiveness of each of their skills.
For this aspect, it was not something that players who just recently teamed up were able to do, even if they were all expert players.
"Hiss, hiss…"
However, the range of the meteor shower would cover almost the entire beach.
Despite that, the base level of the Hypertoxic Chameleons was Level 60; this was a rare high-level common creature. Its health points could be compared to a Level 50 Elite monster.
It was not as easy as using one skill to wipe out the monsters.
More particularly, being a high-level monster, their AI would not allow them to simply stay idle and get beaten up on the beach.
They quickly split into two groups, like a chameleon that leaped into flames. The portion that was closer to the inland of the beach chose to quickly flee into the forest behind them, the other portion which was closer to the coast of the beach, chose to run towards the sea.
"Hiss, hiss…"
The chameleons, one after the other, quickly jumped into the sea from the flame-covered beach.
Next, these "flame lizards" did not swim or sink into the sea like the players predicted.
"Click, click, click…"
Upon jumping onto the surface of the sea, these lizards' limbs began to move at an extremely high frequency, so much so that it directly stood on the surface of the sea and rapidly charged towards the players who were close.
This was undoubtedly another visually felt image.
Hundreds of flame-burning lizards were running across the sea on the surface as a single clump of flame burning in the sea. It drew countless fiery tracks on the evening ocean liner.
"Everyone be careful, this type of lizard is highly toxic. Don't allow it to come close enough to bite you." Because of its proximity to the island area, communication was disrupted, and the line of command was now through a loudhailer.
"Click, click, click…"
This did not require a mention, but the players who participated in this activity had no lack of experience fighting monsters.
On a speedboat, a scout's submachine gun had sounded, and coupled with the light blue wind blade, crystal clear water arrow, it caused the sea surface to have water sparks fly everywhere. With those color-changing lizards moving at high-speed in the sea, the visuals were even more complete.
However, the composition of the image changed again, after the color-changing lizards charged into the sea a few meters.
The color of each flame lizard quickly faded, and eventually, the whole sea had lost its visual presence. Obviously, the color of these lizards, as they had a powerful color-changing ability, changed again with the environment and they became exactly the same as the sea.
"Environmental camouflage. Do you want to consider upgrading this skill?" On the front of the Black Shark heavy boat, Feng Luo with Deathwing in his hands, stared at the lizards which were continuously disappearing in his sights, as he thought to himself.
Yesterday, the Level 50 Quasi-Boss Sea Serpent dropped a Force Skills Fusion Chip, and he had not considered which skill to use it on.
The degree of skill improvement after the use of the chip was related to the compatibility of the skill with the player's Force attribute, because the Force regeneration attribute was more special. Only a portion of his two professional skills had a compatibility level above 50%, and most of these belonged to his Light Armored Warrior skills.
Only two of the Sniper's career skills exceeded 50%, the higher of which was the environmental camouflage with a 70% compatibility.
After almost understanding the difficulty of obtaining the Force Skills Fusion Chip, Feng Luo was more cautious with the use of this second chip.
"Maybe wait for a while longer, and spectate the situation." Feng Luo thought for a while, as he still could not make his decision.
"Bang!"
While pondering in his mind, the Deathwing in his hand shot out a sniper bullet, to a distance nearly a hundred meters away, and accurately hitting a piece of "air."
"-18500!"
A gorgeous golden storm surge figure appeared in the air as an Elite chameleon that was more powerful than its companions was blown away from the Deathwing as it inflicted an explosive effect.
These chameleons were truly powerful with their camouflaging skills, as they could be fully integrated with the ocean's environment.
The problem is that, although the color has changed, the ripples that formed in the high-speed movement of the sea surface could expose their position.
It was like a player's stealth that could not be visually discovered, but it was impossible to move without making any slight noise or not stepping on the ground at all. Abilities like environmental camouflage and stealth might be very powerful, but the key was whether they could use it without any weaknesses.
[You killed an Elite Level 60 Hypertoxic Chameleon. Kill contribution: 100%. Experience value gained: 120.]
After the death of the Elite chameleon, it dropped several kinds of white-lighted loot. Two or three low-grade energy crystals, as well as a cap-sized chip-like object.
"Pet chip!" Feng Luo could identify what that chip was instantly.
It was the kind of biochips that he had obtained from that Steel Beetle Boss in Exile Town. These solidified Chips were defective and needed to be repaired before they could be used.
But these were not bad.
A Pet Chip capable of contracting Elites costs at least a few thousand credits in the market.
It was a wasteland that was not visited before, the drops from the monsters were definitely fruitful.
"Pet Chip, hey, my luck is not bad." Feng Luo was not the only one with luck bursting from his Chip drop.
There are several players with good luck, and obtained Pet Chips.
Those boats close to the beach were driven to the area where the spoils were floating, and some players raised their hands into the sea to obtain their spoils.
The Nine-Star Guild said that all the spoils belonged to the players who obtained them, hence there were no professionals picking up that equipment.

Chapter 585: Invisible Command Level Monster
These chameleons were above Level 60, hence the ratio of Elites was nearly half. The bounty that came out of them was better as well.
Quickly, the sea was filled with many pieces of white and shiny loot.
Although the number of monsters is large, the number of players was not laughable. Their firepower was extremely aggressive as well.
As a result, the remote players were still attacking, and those short-range players which did not have the chance to attack had driven their boats to the place where the chameleons died and started picking up the loot.
"Boom!"
At that moment, a storm boat that was picking up the equipment was suddenly hit by something, and the whole thing was overturned, as several of the players on the ship fell into the sea.
One of the Scout players was directly hit and fell out down-wind of their Storm Boat.
"What's the situation? From the size of these lizards, they should not be able to crash the boat." Big Pineapple looked strangely at the suddenly overturned Storm Boat.
"Well, no, there's a big guy." Feng Luo noticed that from the area covered by the player's fire which was near the sea, new ripples had formed without them knowing. Some of them were more frequent than the Elite colored chameleons and the distance between the ripples was much farther.
"It's a Commander Monster, with more than 50,000 health points. Everyone, be careful, don't let them come close!" The Red Queen's high-profile female Scout, with her scouting talent, was shouting instructions.
This monster was much larger than the Elite lizard and was enough to threaten the boats at sea.
However, they could not see their target in this situation.
Not everyone had enough eye power to differentiate between the Elite and Commander monsters from the water column which was splashing due to the skills and the bullets hitting it.
"Wow, sh*t… the water is poisonous!" This time, the players which fell out of their storm boats, could not help curse out.
"-453, -445, -456…"
Poison damage was continuously dealing damage numbers above these players' heads after they fell into the water.
"It's not that the sea is poisonous, it's the poison from the color-changing lizards which had died in the sea before." Digital Cat said after thinking this through.
Holding a medical pistol in her hand, she fired a therapeutic bullet at that Scout player.
Since the system named this creature a Hypertoxic Chameleon lizard, it was obvious that the toxicity from these creatures was its main attacking move.
It was rather unexpected for this toxicity to cause hundreds of damage points every second after being diluted by seawater. If it was a direct bite, the drop in health points would have been disastrous.
"Damn… This toxicity also has visual disturbances that can make people visually impaired. Doctor, give me an antidote!" The players who fell into the water in front of them were swearing, and after obtaining some health points from Digital Cat's healing shot, they frantically asked her for aid again.
"Pop!"
Digital Cat followed their requests and shot an antidote over.
"-404, -402, -399…"
"The toxic damage is only reduced by 10%. This is a high-grade specialty toxin, so the primary antidote effect is too poor." Digital Cat looked at the change in the health point value on the player's head and frowned.
"Class-D therapeutic agents, primary antidotes…" That was when the player saw the system prompt pop up in the field of view. After being stunned for two seconds, his face immediately became a little angry and turned back.
"F*ck, are you intentionally fooling around with me? Who would use a primary antidote as players of this level?"
Not to mention the fact that the players who were participating in this event were all-star players, who should be carrying at least a C-level treatment agent. Who would ever, in this type of dangerous situation, only use this kind of medicine which was only suitable for low-level players.
"Oh…" There was no way he would know that Digital Cat was unable to use antidotes of an intermediate level and above since she had not been medically trained.
Of course, in the face of this kind of people who would only swear at others who took the initiative to help them, even if Digital Cat had high-level antidotes, she would not use it on them.
Next to her, White Crescent noticed the situation and shot an expert level antidote over, decisively causing his poison damage to fall below 250.
Even if it was an expert antidote, it could only reduce the damage by 50%.
The lizard's poison was a special toxin, so his health points would fall rapidly again if he stayed in the sea after the antidote's effect ran out.
However, because of his words just now, neither the Red Queen nor Zhao Yun, had intentions to drive their Storm Boats over to rescue him.
At this time, the two Storm Boats did not have the spare time to save him, because the entire team on the island, for the time being, had been caught in a mess.
They had not even gone onto the island, and the strength of the first wave of monsters they encountered was a little stronger than what everyone had predicted.
In addition to the large number of Elite lizards that charged out from the adjacent beach, there were at least ten Commander Grade chameleons mixed in.
If it was an ordinary team, they would suffer great losses at this stage.
Although the monster was above Level 50, its strength would not have huge changes.
Compared to Level 50 and below monsters that players usually deal with, its attack and defense had been greatly improved and it was not easily defeated.
What's more, they even had the perverted skill of being able to camouflage in the environment.
…
"Bang!"
Feng Luo's Deathwing shifted to the side as a shot hit the "air" which was not further than ten meters from his position.
"-15030!"
A golden impact damage value appeared, a color-changing lizard that charged ten meters in front of the crowd was hit into devastation.
"Wow!"
On the surface of the sea, a pile of loot broke out. There were energy crystals, two material-like items, a Chip, and a potion-like item.
"Another Chip! Feng, your luck is really good today. Another fatal blind shot and another Chip as loot." Big Pineapple's eyes lit up, as he had reached out to help Feng Luo pick up the Chip from the sea.
This was a second-generation Intermediate Biological Chip. That is a Commander Pet Chip.
"Blind shot?" On the glass Storm Boat close by, Black Panther, who was holding a sniper rifle as well, turned and looked at Feng Luo.
"No." Feng Luo shook his head.
That was not a blind shot, but one that relied on observation and judgment.
It was one made based on the size of the Commander lizard seen earlier and the spacing of the ripples, then determining the fatal position of their heads.
Following the ripples on the surface of the sea, grasping the opportunity and shooting down the chameleon with a shot.
Of course, in the twenty-plus snipers who participated in this activity, not many would have been able to do so, including the one who was hyped as "the first sniper of the war season."
The man, Invikill, was instead fully wet while holding his sniper rifle and constantly having damage numbers above his head, who was climbing onto a storm boat from the sea.
…
The chaos of the battle persisted for some time.
Fortunately, it was all expert players here who were still calm and steady facing this situation.
After nearly five minutes of the land battle, there were no new chameleons appearing on the beach.
Other than the small portion of the players who were guarding the Nine-Star Guild warship, the rest of the players had officially stepped onto this island which was going to be reclaimed.
Additionally, the rewards were still fulfilling despite the fact that this strategy was slightly damaging.
Other than Feng Luo, there were two other players who had gotten leadership-level Pet Chips, plus at least fifty-plus Elite level Chips.
Based on this wave of monsters alone, the Chips dropped had a market value nearing a few millions of credits.
Needlessly to say, this island, having an area of a hundred square kilometers, would definitely have monsters of similar amounts.

Chapter 586: Each With Their Own Tactics, Tripartite Forces
"For a hundred-kilometer-wide island, it is estimated to be a lot more difficult to wipe out the island, especially when they are moving out at night." Upon encountering difficult monsters when they were embarking to the island, some people could not help but mutter about the difficulty of these wastelands.
"There is no need to wipe it out entirely. From the information we have from the previous missions, there are only ten types of monsters on the island in total. In each monster's cluster area, there is a research base. Theoretically, the Quasi-Boss class Pet Chip should be in the base. Additionally, other than the ten sub-bases, there is a general research base in the core area of the island, so there might be a Boss class Pet Chip inside. That is to say, we really only need to deal with these eleven research bases and finish off the monsters within." Zi Wei stood at a slightly higher position, as she used the loudspeaker to tell the players who were recuperating after embarking to the island.
After entering the island, the communication tools were in a state of serious interference and estimated that for some reason, the Nine-Star Guild executives did not disclose the line of command within the hidden occupations of which was able to restore the communication devices.
At this time, they could only communicate through loud speaking.
The words Zi Wei said, was actually the information the players obtained from the Nine-Star Guild. However, there had to be players who did not read through them thoroughly, and she explained it again.
"This wasteland island is a triangle, and we entered in this direction of the island, near our side there are a total of four research bases." Frontline Command opened an instrument in hand, projecting a large triangular map of the island in the sky.
"According to previous information, the SK Guild should have landed on this side, and their side also has four research bases." Frontline Command pointed to some of the spots on the map which emitted yellow light.
"However, the last two sub-bases are on the third side of the island, about the same distance from our position. These two places are likely to have to be decided by competition. Of course, at the general research base in the center, there is a conflict there, it might be the final battle to decide victory. When the time comes, I really need to depend on everybody." Zi Wei said with a smile.
"Haha… Vice-Director Zi Wei, please relax. We will help your guild complete this duty."
"Hey, I heard that there are a lot of local tycoons in North City. However, it is clear that their fighting strength can not be compared to us in Storm City…"
"Since we have joined, we would definitely do our best."
Players around the area responded.
Of course, in addition to these people who have expressed their emotions, someone had thought of an issue.
"Wait a minute, Vice-Director Zi Wei, according to your instructions, we first sweep the sub-bases then enter the main base, yes? Since there are Boss Chips in the main base, why don't we just take the base first and then clean up the sub-bases?" Some players sounded out their qualms with a puzzled voice.
There are Quasi-Boss Chips in the sub-base, but there might be Boss Chips in the primary base.
The estimate of whether ten Quasi-Boss Chips or one Boss Chip is more useful, this type of estimate depends on each individual.
In terms of the price obtained from selling at an auction, a Boss Chip is more expensive than ten Quasi-Boss Chips.
Most of the players who participated wanted to get the high-level Chips not for credits.
There was no denying that some players value the credits that the Chip represented, and was carrying the hope of selling them off for credits. In particular, some scattered players.
"It's not a bad idea, but I feel that we should combine our powers and take down the general base, this way, we can guarantee that we will obtain the Boss Chip. If we don't go about doing this way, if the people in North City do it this way, then the Boss Chip will end up in their hands." A player who was fully soaked and patting health points supplements shouted loudly.
Feng Luo scanned the area and discovered that it was the Scout player who had fallen into the water in front of them.
Previously no one wanted to save him, this guy nearly died in the sea because of persistent poisoning. At the moment, he was not looking too well, but his eyes were constantly turning.
"After analyzing the information given on the mission, we thought that the difficulty of the main base is very high, there should be a Boss existing inside. If we attack it hastily, we might suffer huge losses. However, these sub-bases are much less difficult than they are, at best, only Quasi-Boss level monsters. With our strength, in the case of open terrain, as long as we are coordinating appropriately, we should not suffer that much of a loss. More importantly, there are restraining messages and items in these sub-bases that are targeted at the corresponding kind of monster. Like special antidotes… Just now those lizards were highly toxic. A fighter without special antidotes trapped in an enclosed space, even one who was a heavy-armor fighter, would not be able to hold out for long." Zi Wei's face did not change much, she only glared at him for a while before explaining. "I think the people of North City would not go directly to the main base."
…
"President Park, have you heard anything? The people of Storm City should have arrived."
While the players of Storm City were getting ready for their operation, on the other side of the triangular island, a large group of players boarded the island after killing some monsters.
On top of a large luxury cruise ship a kilometer from the island, a group of North City Guild executives was surrounding a middle-aged player with a golden badge with the "SK" flying bird pattern on his chest asked.
"Yes, they have arrived. Like us, they met the first wave of monsters when they landed on the island. It is not clear how much damage has been done because of the disruption of communication after entering the island, plus entering the operation state when we got to the island, so we are unable to transmit information on our own will like how we did on the ship. However, yesterday they met two Quasi-Bosses on the open sea, which damaged dozens of people. Because of that, the total number of people could not be compared to us." The middle-aged player wore decorated gold-wire glasses and had a mild temperament, but there was a slight glint in his eyes.
It made him seem more like a successful businessman instead of the president of a super-guild.
"It was due to President Park's contacts that we were able to find people who were willing to help us transmit information in such a short time. Having the advantage of communication and the difference in numbers makes us undefeatable." Several other guild executives also had a smile on their faces.
The Top Executives of the Northern City Guild were not surprised that the SK Guild had placed a spy in the Storm City's wastelands players.
This game was not like reality. Here, it was easy to buy people over.
In particular, the Nine-Star Guild split their quota to scattered players since they wanted to build their reputation. As such, they had to take this risk.
"All of us were chosen from the major guilds so all of us can be trusted…" President Park looked around at the players and showed a confident expression on his face.
Of course, he still had a statement to make, in reality, it was still okay if they were not trustable.
Now that the players who participated in the mission, upon entering the island, the system had prompted that they were unable to go offline and unable to receive news from outside.
If they were forced offline, or because of some emergency messages and had to go offline, then the players would be controlled by the system until the end of the mission, they were unable to go back online.
This means that even if there were spies among their North City players, they would be unable to pass information to their people in the Nine-Star Guild due to the disruption of communication on the island.
He only revealed his tactical arrangement after the people entered the islands, as they could not possibly pass the information to the players from Storm City.
"They would think we're not going to clean up the sub-bases first, but instead we're going to save strength and send someone through internally to look for their location. In time, as long as we win the team fight, the spoils of their bases will be ours."
The masterminds of the North City guild all had smiles on their faces.
…
Players in both cities took different strategic tactics at the start of the mission.
A dozen nautical miles away on the last side of the triangular island, several large armed pirate ships were resting on the grey surface of the sea.
On the flagship deck of the fleet of weapons, a middle-aged NPC pirate leader with a scar on his face slowly lowered his telescope and mouthed, "It's almost time, set sail!"
Behind this pirate leader were hundreds of heavily armed pirates and a dozen people covered in black cloth, carrying two slender knives; quirkily dressed NPCs, and several NPC scientists wearing technology glasses who were protected by these people.
Of course, "dressing up oddly" was targeting the people of Star Gaming.
Seeing how these dozens of NPC dressed up, if they were to let Feng Luo see them, he must have related them to the class back on earth called "ninjas."
In addition to hundreds of pirates and "ninjas," there were about a hundred players on the pirate ship.
At this point, these players were talking to each other excitedly as they looked at the sky which was starting to darken.
"The federal camp players in Storm City and North City wouldn't have thought that this mission would have us participating in addition to them. Pet Chips were already the advantage of our Rebel Camp, how can the system give them such advantageous technology in an instant?"
"I'd like to thank the Nine-Star Guild and the SK Guild for making this matter so high-profile. If we are able to obtain the final victory, everyone would turn famous immediately."
From the discussions these people were having, it can be seen that the players on this ship are players of the Rebel Camp, and their purpose was also the Pet Chip relic.
"I'm only worried it isn't this easy. The people from both sides are high-skilled experts and star players." Although these people were most excited and uneasy, there were people who still mentioned it.
"What star players? Aren't they just people with better equipment and then blowing it up with more money? We are the Elites chosen from the camp. In terms of potential, I am confident that we would not be inferior to those star players. What's more, other than our advantage in the pet's aspect, we also have the NPC pirates' aid. Most importantly, we have this stealth mission so when we enter the island, the final victory belongs to us. I can't wait to see the people from the federal camps expressions."

Chapter 587: First Base
"Manipulator team two, switch! Heavy Armor Warriors, take note and defend, don't let those Commander Grade Hypertoxic Lizards get here! Machine Gunners, Machine Gunners, hurry! The right side…"
The sky had turned dark. Somewhere on the island, within a range of around one kilometer on the hamada, gravel covered the ground as a fierce battle ensued.
Multiple Chameleons that were over Level 60 gathered into groups before moving towards the players who were charging toward the center of the hamada. The Chameleons charged in a way similar to a suicide attack.
As for the players, the long range professions positioned themselves in the middle while the warriors stationed themselves outside.
The high speed shooting of Machine Gunners and the continuously released ultimate attacks of Manipulators created an impenetrable defensive line, and the amazing firepower kept most Chameleons at least a hundred meters away from them.
"Slash, slash…"
While a few Chameleons were lucky enough to get through the gaps of the defense line after losing most of their HP, they would be ultimately dealt with by the Light Armor Warriors or Scouts defending the area.
"Rumble…"
Apart from the Manipulators and the Machine Gunners, four Tiger A-50 robots, each over five meters tall, were also on the hamada. At that time, the four barrel heavy machine guns on the A-50s were spinning and firing shots that crushed the Hypertoxic Chameleons into pieces.
Although it was rare for normal players to see robots, for large guilds, they were standard for most activities.
However, the island environment was not exactly the most suitable combat setting for these combat robots. In addition, large robot parts could not be placed inside player inventories, delivering the parts via military ships or transport vessels was simply too much of a hassle.
As such, Nine-Star Guild only assembled four of these robots for this battle.
"Hiss, hiss…"
The number of Chameleons standing across the players in groups was decreasing very quickly. However, there was a lot of them left, and almost half of those remaining were Elite Grade monsters, and the players were still at a huge disadvantage.
The Chameleons' Environment Blend skill was just too strong. However, the skill seemed to be a passive skill.
Thanks to a chance encounter when getting on the island, the specialists from Nine-Star Guild had long devised plans to deal with them.
The Fire Manipulators in the team kept casting fire type skills around them while they moved. Some were even doing so much that they had seemed to have given up maximizing their damage.
The moment the flames touched the ground, the Chameleons that should have blended in with the environment were forced to return to their true self.
The Chameleons were completely drowned by the sheer number of long-range attacks thrown at them. Even the Commander Grade Hypertoxic Chameleons that had over 50,000 HP failed to reach the players.
Their bodies were double the size of a normal Hypertoxic Chameleon. The moment the flames exposed their location, these larger sized Commander Grade Chameleons would be targeted and attacked by all those experienced top players.
In an empty hamada space, there were no obstacles in the way. While these lizards had high levels and HP, it was impossible for them to survive a round of focus fire attack.
[You've contributed to killing Hypertoxic Chameleon (Level 62: Elite) Contribution: 23.4%. Obtained Experience: 1029.]
[You've contributed to killing Hypertoxic Chameleon (Level 60: Commander) Contribution: …]
[You've killed…]
Multiple messages indicating Feng Luo's experience gain popped up into his sight. His Level 53 experience bar was gradually increasing.
These experience points were meaningless to other players; however, for Feng Luo, they were valuable experience points that could help increase his levels.
As things unfolded, the Life Protozoa leveled up again and was now Level 34.
Additionally, when clearing maps and farming monsters, there was a building located close to the center of the hamada. A worn-out building that was completely constructed from metal was within 100 meters of the players.
"Everyone, be careful. A Quasi-Boss Grade monster may appear at any time. Everyone, scatter around, maintain a certain distance between one another in case the Quasi-Boss Grade monster uses an area of effect skill to attack! Scouts, find the position of the Quasi-Boss monster!" Frontline Command shouted instructions through a loudspeaker. However, in an environment where skills, shots, and explosions abound, the commands were not very clear.
However, while many did not hear the commands, the players still maintained a certain distance between one another.
While normal monsters were nothing to them, they had to respect a Quasi-Boss Grade monster.
In particular, the Hypertoxic Chameleons were high level monsters, and the Quasi-Boss monster of the same species was guaranteed a high level as well. Even though every player in the team was fully equipped with Rare Grade items, it was still possible for them to be wiped out in one attack.
The first Quasi-Boss level Chip was going to appear soon. No one wanted to die and be removed from the scene at this moment.
"Northwest, 60 degrees. Clear!"
"South side, clear!"
"East. Clear…"
All of the Scout players in the team activated their recon meters and kept using the Detection skill in different directions. At the same time, they continued to report their findings to Frontline Command in the center.
"Boom!"
Before one of the Scout players could finish speaking, near the building of the base in the hamada, the sand around a location suddenly burst into the air and a larger than normal Hypertoxic lizard appeared.
At the same time, a chilling and dangerous aura filled the area.
"Warning, warning… Discovered a high energy creature. Discovered a high energy creature." A warning came from the personal terminal of each of the players.
"It has finally appeared!"
However, after hearing the warning sound, the players at the scene did not seem to be worried; on the contrary, they looked relieved and delighted.
The threat posed by a Quasi-Boss monster that appeared was much lower than a Quasi-Boss monster still hiding somewhere.
Since many players were already focused on the research facility building in the first place, they were able to discover the monster appearing from underground almost immediately.
"Attack!"
Without any hesitation, most long range attackers had started sending their attacks toward the monster.
"Boom!"
The sky was suddenly filled with fireballs, wind blades, bullets… They descended toward the monster like heavy rain.
Five large robots, as well as a few summoned pets, released their long range attacks at the large figure at the same time. The flame from the shots lit up the area and exposed the large body of the monster.
"-344, -444, -566…"
"-2345!"
"-3445!"
A bunch of damage numbers appeared and almost completely covered the large Hypertoxic Chameleon that had just appeared.
While it was a Quasi-Boss Grade monster that had around 300,000 to 400,000 HP, it should not be able to survive the round of focus fire attack.
In the next moment, the system notification had popped up.
[You've killed Hypertoxic Chameleon (Level 70: Commander Grade). Kill Contribution: Obtained Experience…]
"Huh? We've killed it already? Hold on a sec. It is not a Quasi-Boss Grade monster, it is only a Commander Grade monsters.
"No way! We targeted the wrong monster? If this is only the Commander Grade monster, then where is the Quasi-Boss Grade monster?"
"Careful!"
The moment the monster died, some players began to cheer. However, they reacted quickly to the situation almost instantly.
"Boom!"
While they reacted very quickly, over a dozen white light of death had already brightened an area in the middle of the team where the long range attackers were being protected while a bunch of damage numbers popped up at the same time.

Chapter 588: Level 70 Quasi-Boss
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
"Damn it, that Quasi-Boss appeared at the center so suddenly."
Over a dozen white lights of death brightened the area at the same time. There was no need to mention what caused the high number of death in such a short amount of time.
No one would have imagined that the Quasi-Boss monster would appear right in the middle of the team when so many Scouts had been using their Detection skill the whole time.
Amidst the bright lights, a Manipulator player shouted loudly, "Agh! Damn it! I was bitten!"
After his teammates were attacked, the fire energy shield he had activated was instantly gone.
He felt a surge of pain coming from his leg, and a poison damage number of over 2,000 per second popped up above his head.
The damage number was undoubtedly frightening. While a Doctor player immediately threw a blood tonic and an Expert Level antidote on his body, the poison damage per second was still over 1,000, and there was no way he was going to survive it.
However, when he shouted loudly, it helped several players see, albeit vaguely, the thing that attacked him.
It was a small one-foot long lizard-like creature whose body was blurry and somewhat translucent.
The lizard could control its camouflage ability freely. It did not reveal itself even after being affected by the energy flames. It only revealed its body slightly at the moment it attacked the Manipulator player. After that, it disappeared instantly and caused the skill attacks that nearby players threw at it to miss.
"Scouts! Hurry up!" Frontline Command had turned around as he shouted to the Scout players gathered around him.
"I can't detect it. It has an anti-detection skill. I can't locate its position."
"I can't find it either…"
The battle-hardened Scout players did not need to say that they had used the Detection skill. Nonetheless, most of the Scouts' recon meters did not show the location of the monster.
"It is a Level 70 Quasi-Boss monster. It only has 250,000 HP. It is incredibly quick and its anti-detection ability is way too strong." The Nine-Star Guild Scout who fought against Feng Luo before in the arena said. The silver recon meter he was holding showed some info about the monster at last.
It did not take long for the orange dot that appeared on the recon meter, which signified the Quasi-Boss monster, to vanish instantly. There was no time to lock it down.
"Be careful, Old North, the Quasi-Boss monster is charging toward you guys." In that brief moment, Frontline Command, who only managed to see the general direction, shouted through the loudspeaker.
With his reminder, the players in that area hastily scattered around and kept their distance between one another. This helped prevent another instant KO situation from occurring.
However, a Machine Gunner player failed to dodge in time. One of his calves was bitten by this small but agile Quasi-Boss lizard monster.
"-2000, -2000…"
The damage received from being bitten was not high, it was only in the double digits. However, the consequent poison damage was incredibly frightening, taking 2,000 health each second.
In just three seconds, the Machine Gunner had spasmed and turned into the white light of death before the Doctor players reached him to help.
"The poison is crazy!"
Several players' colors changed after witnessing the scene before them.
Such crazy poison. The only ones capable of withstanding them were probably the Heavy Armor Warriors.
After all, they were fully clad in heavy and thick armor. Theoretically, a small lizard like this should not be able to bite through it.
Even if they were bitten, with over 20,000 HP, high negative affliction resistance, and the assistance of Doctor players; Heavy Armor Warriors were a lot less likely to die.
However, the problem was that the warrior professions were all placed in the outer ring of the team.
When the Quasi-Boss Hypertoxic Chameleon appeared, the remaining normal Chameleons on the hamada seemed to have gone crazy at the same time and started attacking the players together.
In an instant, with enemies on both sides, the battlefield became quite chaotic. The white light of death even appeared among those located in the outer layers.
While the players were able to deal with the Hypertoxic Chameleons without taking any damage, dealing with a horde of over Level 60 monsters was not an easy feat.
Not to mention there were also a bunch of Elite Grade monsters as well as a few Commander Grade monsters mixed. While the good equipment of the players prevented them from being killed in one hit, two or three attacks landing at the same time would be enough to kill a player.
The Quasi-Boss lizard disappeared completely after attacking that Machine Gunner earlier. After the attack, it had hidden somewhere again.
The monster was small, and with its perfect camouflage ability, it was able to hide from the players. By the time its area of effect skill cooldown elapsed, it was going to kill more than one player.
"Old Kong, even your Legendary Grade recon meter can't pinpoint the location of this Quasi-Boss monster?" Frontline Command, who stood beside the Scout player, asked with an anxious expression on his face.
"This guy's camouflage ability is too strong, and we have a 20 level difference. With my Detection skill in cooldown, even a Legendary Grade recon meter is useless. Unless I had the Force, then I'd be able to activate the bonus skill 'Tracer.' Otherwise…" The Scout Player with the ID 'Jing Kong' stared at the silver recon meter called 'Tracer' that he was holding in his hand while shaking his head with a serious expression.
"Will you be able to locate it if you activate the skill?" A voice came from beside Feng Luo.
The reason that Feng Luo appeared in that location was quite simple. Although the Nine-Star Guild did not let Frontline Command expose Feng Luo's hidden profession due to some reasons, if the situation turned sour, he would still have to use the Force to activate his profession's device. Since this was the first base battle, the chances of something unexpected occurring was even higher.
To be prepared, Feng Luo was not with Big Pineapple and the others at that moment, instead, he stayed with the Nine-Star Guild's commanding team.
From Frontline Command's words just now, Feng Luo understood why the Scout player was able to discover the Scout Beetles at such a long distance in the arena.
The detection ability of a Legendary Grade recon meter was, without a doubt, a lot stronger than a Rare Grade recon meter.
"That's right. The recon meter's bonus skill allows the recon meter to maintain a strengthened and enhanced detection status. No matter how good the Quasi-Boss monster is at hiding, we'd be able to find it." Jing Kong nodded and said confidently.
Although Feng Luo was the only outsider among those in the area, after learning that Feng Luo was the Sniper in the arena, Jing Kong became quite intrigued and interested in him.
Earlier, he invited Feng Luo to another PK match, and the two of them were getting very well-acquainted.
Of course, Feng Luo declined the offer with a bitter smile. He really did not want to have another PK match with anyone.
"Then take this." Immediately after Jing Kong answered confidently, Feng Luo passed a red syringe to him.
"This is… F*ck me. This is actually the…" Jing Kong initially received the "Quasi Force Potion" from Feng Luo suspiciously. After he saw the stats of the potion, both his eyes widened as he cursed a few times.
"Hurry up. If the Quasi-Boss attacks again, we'll be suffering a lot of losses." Feng Luo reminded him.
Feng Luo did not plan to bring out the Force Potion so quickly. Due to time constraints, Lin was only able to produce around a dozen or so of these Quasi Force Potions.
If he were to reveal the fact that he had these with him early, it was almost a given that those with Legendary Grade items would start to bug him.
However, the current situation was quite bad.
They did not know where the Quasi-Boss was hiding. By the time its skill's cooldown was over, a dozen or so players would likely face instant death. This was the time for him to bring the potions out.
"Immediately." Jing Kong nodded excitedly, injecting the needle into his body.
He turned on his recon meter and pressed something on the device.
"Found it! It is over there!" After two seconds, the screen on the recon meter suddenly changed. A tiny orange dot that remained immobile suddenly appeared right behind a Heavy Armor Warrior's alloy shield.

Chapter 589: Sniping Scope Lock Function
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
"What a cunning Quasi-Boss monster." When the players found the Quasi-Boss' position through the recon meter, a few of the players had that thought on their mind.
A Heavy Armor Warrior's shield weighed over a hundred kilograms. Players were only able to move freely thanks to the power armor's driving force.
Although the Hypertoxic Chameleon was a Level 70 Quasi-Boss monster, it was less than one foot in size, and it was probably less than ten pounds. By resting on the alloy shield, the players had no way to detect its presence at all.
No matter how the players searched for it in the crowd, they never would have thought that it would hide behind an alloy shield that was being used to block the Chameleon horde's attack. With this, the Quasi-Boss monster could easily follow the movement of the players and wait for its skill to cool down.
This lizard thoroughly displayed the high AI of Boss Grade monsters in War.
It was not simply high AI, there were also its agility and quick reaction specific to Boss class monsters.
"Tst!"
Less than a tenth of a second after it was detected by the recon meter, the Level 70 Quasi-Boss lizard, which was initially resting on the shield, suddenly turned its head around.
It blinked several times quickly and before long, the orange dot on the Legendary Grade recon meter screen quickly charged towards the group of players who had detected its presence. Its movement speed was so fast that it caught a few by surprise.
"Shit!" Without a need to speak, the situation was very clear.
"Heavy Armor Warriors, protect Jing Kong!" Frontline Command's expression changed drastically.
If Jing Kong, who owned the Legendary Grade recon meter, died, the Quasi-Boss, with its peculiar and frightening camouflage ability, would most certainly become a huge problem.
This Boss was, without a shred of doubt, incredibly smart.
…
Although most of the Heavy Armor Warriors were on the outside of the formation, since they were the commanding group, a few Heavy Armor Warriors were still present.
As such, when Frontline Command shouted, those Heavy Armor Warriors rushed over instantly with their shields raised.
However, the problem was how were they going to protect the Scout?
While they had discovered the Quasi-Boss lizard's position, they could only see it through the screen of the Legendary Grade recon meter. Finding the lizard with the naked eye was undoubtedly a challenge.
A few Heavy Armor Warriors charged over with their alloy shields raised as they could not see how they could protect Jing Kong except using their shields.
However, with the small size of the Quasi-Boss lizard, it was capable of charging past the gaps between the shields and directly biting and poisoning Jing Kong to death.
The orange dot on the Legendary Grade recon meter's screen was incredibly quick. Although the Quasi-Boss lizard was moving, its speed was more like a cannonball. Even with the Heavy Armor Warriors charging in, they would not make it in time.
The only thing capable of blocking a cannonball was probably a bullet.
"Bang!"
Feng Luo aimed Wings of Death to an empty space in front of a group of panicking players before pulling the trigger with his index finger.
A searing hot bullet exited the gun chamber. With the energy accelerator bonus, in less than one-tenth of a millisecond, the bullet had spun and traveled over a dozen meters.
"Dong!"
"-2256!"
The bullet flying towards an empty space suddenly burst into a ball of flame midair as if it hit something.
The orange dot on the recon meter was closing in at high speed, when it suddenly moved backward about a dozen meters, hitting the ground and leaving a small crater in its wake. A one-foot long blurred figure finally appeared.
The Quasi-Boss lizard was exposed after getting shot.
"Tsst!"
Although it was directly hit by the bullet and was forced backward, the Hypertoxic Chameleon Quasi-Boss' keratin scales that had the ability to change colors also possessed incredible defense. The bullet only dealt a white Normal Damage.
Moreover, the Quasi-Boss only revealed itself for a brief moment after it crashed to the ground.
In the next moment, after receiving a few more attacks from several players who reacted incredibly fast, it lost around 10,000 HP as a result, and the Quasi-Boss lizard vanished again.
"Automatic Mode! "Rapid Shooting!" However, after firing the first shot, Feng Luo switched Wings of Death's mode to Automatic, which reduced the shooting gap by half, and at the same time, he also used the skill 'Rapid Shooting.'
"Bang!"
One-tenth of a second after the Quasi-Boss Hypertoxic Chameleon disappeared, Wings of Death fired a second bullet.
"Pa!"
"-5778!"
The Quasi-Boss was only able to move less than ten meters after disappearing. It was once again hit by the B-Grade deflagration once more, and was forced to reveal its body yet again. Additionally, it was sent rolling on the ground as a result of the shot's impact once again..
At the same time, the damage number that popped up above its head changed from the white Normal Damage of around 2,000 to a yellow Weak Point Damage of around 5,000.
"Whoosh, whoosh… Boom…"
This time, other players around the area who tried to focus their attacks on the Quasi-Boss earlier but missed also came to their senses. They threw a bunch of attacks at it once more. In an instant, a lot of burst damage was focused on the monster, causing it to lose more than 20% of its HP in one go.
Although it had insane camouflage and poison skils, its low HP of around 200,000 made it impossible for it to behave as recklessly as the Quasi-Boss giant Sea Serpent from before which could tank the players' attack while initiating attacks of its own.
"Sniper, you're not too shabby!"
"Nice rifle!"
"Wonderful! Amazing!"
However, when attacks were flung towards the Quasi-Boss lizard, several players also raised their voices to praise Feng Luo's move.
The Quasi-Boss lizard was only one foot long and had a camouflage skill and frightening speed. Additionally, it was night time, which equaled a very dark environment. With these conditions, not to mention hitting the target, but to hit it twice within one second, just what kind of marksmanship and skills were needed?
While everyone present was a top player, many of them were prideful and egoistic, and as such, generally did not like praising others.
However, because they were all experts, they understood the difficulty of achieving that feat. Both of Feng Luo's shots just now were very difficult.
"Is it a blind snipe? Does he have other methods to see the Quasi-Boss?" Compared to the other players who were further away, Jing Kong and a few of the other Nine-Star Guild players could not help but wonder about that.
Feng Luo was right beside them, and as a result, the situation was a lot clearer to them.
Earlier, with the Quasi-Boss charging towards them, Jing Kong could not help but hide behind the Heavy Armor Warriors with his Legendary Grade recon meter in hand.
In such a situation, Feng Luo should not have been able to know the Quasi-Boss' position.
Even if he were able to see the position of the monster on the recon meter's screen, for high-speed shooting that lasted less than one second, there was no way he'd be aiming while staring at the recon meter, right?
With that in mind, were Feng Luo's shots blind snipes or not? Or perhaps he had another way to pinpoint the Quasi-Boss' position?
However, if Feng Luo could see it by himself, why did he need Jing Kong's help to search for it with the recon meter earlier?
"Follow the trajectory of my bullets and attack!" While the Nine-Star Guild players were still wondering about the reason, Feng Luo shouted while moving Wings of Death very quickly.
Sniping blindly was naturally impossible.
The real reason Feng Luo was able to hit both his shots was within his sniping scope. Within Feng Luo's sight through the sniping scope, a very clear red dot that was moving very quickly was being followed by the gun muzzle with a target lock function.
Wings of Death was a Rare Grade sniper rifle. However, this sniping scope was a rifle part of the Legendary Grade Death Gaze.
From that name alone, one could tell the importance of the sniping scope to the Legendary Grade sniper rifle.
While the sniper rifle's bonus skill could not be activated since Feng Luo did not meet the three minimum parts requirement, the sniping scope's own function was not limited.
The sniper rifle's sniping scope had three functions, sight bonus, HP computing, and target lock.
The first two were not that special; however, the third function was particularly unique.
Using this function, one could lock on the target in the middle of the sniping scope's sight. The target would be indicated by a bright color.
Put simply, the sniping scope would place a long-term mark on the locked on target. The lock function was not that useful against large monsters that moved slowly.
However, when used against small and highly mobile monsters that also had incredible camouflage ability or against a player or an NPC in a crowded location, it was incredibly useful.

Chapter 590: Quasi-Boss with the Force
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
"Bang!"
"-12750!"
Golden Critical Hit.
Feng Luo's third shot hit the Quasi-Boss monster that had just lost more than 20% HP from a round of focus fire attack again.
This time, Wings of Death's destructive coefficient that exceeded B-Grade completely and broke through the hard keratin scale defense of the Hypertoxic Chameleon Quasi-Boss. Additionally, it also triggered the rare attribute's critical rate and directly dealt a five-digit damage value.
Since many players were attacking at the same time, the colors appearing within the sniping scope's sight was quite chaotic.
However, the mark that appeared after the target was locked on would automatically change into a color that was the most identifiable. Feng Luo only needed to aim and attack the mark. As long as he could keep up, he did not have to worry about missing the target.
"Tsst!"
After the round of focus fire by the other players, the Quasi-Boss now received another attack by Feng Luo that took out more than 10,000 of its HP. With this, its HP was decreasing quickly and substantially.
Since it kept getting hit, it was not able to completely regain its camouflage and stealth status.
Since its small body that was only one foot long and was very light, it could withstand the impact generated by the bullets and the effects of skills. The attacks sent it rolling around on the ground.
HP: 72%… 61%… 49%…
"Although this Quasi-Boss has some very weird and scary skills, its defense is quite average. If we keep this up, we'll kill it in no time…" After seeing the Level 70 Quasi-Boss' HP drop below 50% in just a few seconds, many players who turned around to attack it breathed a sigh of relief.
Several Chameleons had broken through the outer defense layer that weakened after many of the damage dealers left, which left the warrior professions without any damage output.
If they did not get rid of the Quasi-Boss monster quickly, they would be stuck in a predicament where dangers lay internally and externally.
However, as a Level 70 Quasi-Boss monster, it was clear that it was not going to give up just like that.
The highest leveled monster found by players in the game was only a little over Level 70. Theoretically speaking, apart from the fact that it was a Quasi-Boss monster, the Hypertoxic Chameleon was among the top echelons in the monster world on the planet in War.
"Hiss!"
The Hypertoxic Chameleon that was sent rolling on the ground and could no longer escape only had around 30% of its HP left let out an angry and high-pitched hiss.
A shocking scene unfolded before everyone's eyes, as more than ten of the long-range attacks flying towards it including fireballs, wind blades, ice arrows, and hundreds of bullets suddenly stopped in mid-air as if something had frozen them in place.
However, to say that they were frozen in mid-air was not completely accurate. The skills and the bullets were still moving closer towards the Hypertoxi Chameleon.
However, the speed at which they were progressing had substantially decreased. The hundreds of bullets were flying towards it at all angles were slowed almost a thousand times. It was as if the bullets were shot into mercury and they were faced with incredible resistance.
"What the f*ck?" Several players frowned at the sudden and unforeseen event, especially when they were just one step away from killing this Quasi-Boss, which would allow them to turn around to deal with the horde of Hypertoxic Chameleons charging behind them.
"Energy Shield? Or perhaps it is another energy skill? That's not right, there hasn't been any energy fluctuation." The weirdest thing was that, whether it was the Scout's recon meter or the Manipulator's energy converter, none of them received any energy fluctuation notification.
The skill was different from the skills of other normal Boss monsters.
However, Jing Kong, who was surrounded and protected by a group of Heavy Armor Warriors, saw a notification appear on his recon meter. He shouted, "It's not an energy skill. It is a Force skill… This Quasi-Boss has the Force!"
"Force? Does this Boss monster have the Force? No wonder this skill is so insanely strong." One could not deny that although most players had heard about the Force before, not many of them had witnessed it first hand.
At that time, the Hyptertoxic Chameleon had simply frozen all the attacks coming towards it within a ten-meter range in mid-air, creating a scene where numerous energy skills of various colors and hundreds of bullets were seemingly blocked by a formless water ball. It was so magnificent that it was comparable to the group of Chameleons being affected by the flame behind them.
It also showed everyone present at the scene the might of the Force.
"Boom!"
However, the players continued to press their attack. In particular, a few Machine Gunners turned around to attack the Quasi-Boss without paying attention to friendly fire.
The water Ball was not able to withstand the attacks that continued to pile up. After a few seconds, all the attacks that were initially frozen in place finally squeezed and burst the water ball. All the attacks continued flying towards the Quasi-Boss.
"Rumble, rumble…"
A bunch of energy skills and hundreds and even thousands of bullets… With so many attacks focused on a location at the same time, a chaotic scene with multiple explosions occurred. It was as if a flash grenade had gone off in front of the players. Blinding lights that made it almost impossible to see affected the players' vision.
"-43502!"
Amidst the multitude of explosions, a damage number exceeding 40,000 popped up in the air.
Although it had succeeded in delaying or even disrupting the attacks from earlier, the Level 70 Quasi-Boss was not able to use the Force to completely cancel out the energy of these attacks. As such, it still lost a significant amount of HP in the explosion.
By the time the chaotic explosion dissipated and the stifled players regained their vision, they found that the Quasi-Boss Hypertoxic Chameleon was nowhere to be found in the large crater on the ground created by the explosion.
"Shit! It has escaped!" As they continued staring at the attacks that continued to rain down at empty spaces on the ground, many players had the same thought.
In addition to the previous focus fire attack as well as the latest explosion, the Hypertoxic Chameleon had less than 10% of its total 250,000 HP left. With the AI of Boss monsters in War, its first instinct under such low-HP condition would be to escape.
"Over there! It is running towards the Chameleon horde!" Jing Kong shouted as he pointed to a location with his recon meter in hand.
However, in that direction was the place where a horde of Chameleons that looked like a burning flame breaking through the defensive line of the warrior players. It made the entire battlefield extremely chaotic.
In that situation, even if they were to find the escaping Quasi-Boss, the Scouts and Manipulators would find it difficult to attack because of the high chance for them to kill their teammates if they were to release their skills or fire their bullets over there.
That was unless it was a single-target attack.
"Bang!"
The low rumbling of the Wings of Death once again filled the air.
A searing hot bullet flew towards a very inconspicuous spot amid the chaotic battle between the Hypertoxic Chameleons and the players.
After flying past around a hundred meters and through the gaps between a few players, the bullet struck something in the air, and it burst into a flame that spread outward.
"-22566!"
A magnificent gold number.
As if it was compensating for Feng Luo's bad luck in his earlier shots that missed the Quasi-Boss Cave Spider, the two consecutive shots that were aimed at the Hypertoxic Chameleon were both critical hits.
Moreover, the latest shot was a critical hit on top of a Fatal Damage.
Golden colored damage number that was over 20,000. The shot directly emptied the HP of the Level 70 Quasi-Boss trying to escape and receive help from its minions.

Chapter 591: Dropped Chip
"It's dead!"
"Phew! It almost got away!"
After the notification of the Quasi-Boss being killed popped up, most of the players who took part in the battle breathed a sigh of relief.
If it had succeeded in getting to the Chameleon horde, with the recovery rate of a Quasi-Boss, it only needed some time before it could fully recover its HP. By then, it was going to be very difficult to deal with it.
More troublesome was if the Quasi-Boss became frightened after being battered by the players and chose to completely escape and get out of the area, the players would have to bid farewell to a Quasi-Boss Chip that was incredibly valuable.
As such, Feng Luo's last critical hit shot was incredibly meaningful.
While the players were feeling fortunate and relieved that the Quasi-Boss had died, several players also noticed the very eye-catching golden critical five-digit hit numbers.
"Damn, a critical hit of over 20,000! This damage is quite frightening…" Since most players did not pay attention to the attacks of the battle, and due to the chaotic situation on the battlefield, not many players noticed that Feng Luo's attack damage was a lot higher than the average player.
However, this attack was the last hit that ended the Quasi-Boss' life. Moreover, and was the moment when most players had just recovered their eyesight from the blinding explosion and had just shifted their gaze towards that spot. As such, the last damage number was noticed by quite a number of players.
Someone took a deep breath and could not help but say, "It is only a double damage critical hit. This means that even if it weren't a critical hit, the damage number would still be over 10,000. This is a Level 70 Quasi-Boss after all; although its HP isn't high, its defense isn't weak. Theoretically speaking, if this shot were to hit a Light Armor Warrior fully equipped in Rare Grade items, there is still a high chance for it to deal a one-hit kill."
As top-class players, most of their first instincts after witnessing the damage was not to consider how much damage it did on the monster and how useful it could be for them when farming monsters; instead, their thoughts immediately went towards considering what the result would be if the shot had hit their bodies instead.
So, what was the result?
Apart from a few warrior players equipped with Legendary Grade defensive gears still looking confident; the rest, including most if not all of the glass cannon professions, seemed more worried than delighted when a Sniper teammate possessing the ability to one-shot them existed.
A Manipulator wearing a September Guild badge on his chest stared at the Wings of Death sniper rifle that had a unique look that Feng Luo was holding and said, "Could it be a completed Legendary Grade sniper rifle?"
"Not likely. Although the attack power of a Legendary Grade sniper rifle is high, the damage shouldn't be that much higher than a normal sniper rifle. His scope is clearly not from the same set as the other parts of his rifle. There is no way it is a complete Legendary Grade weapon." Compared to the Manipulator, sniper players were a lot more knowledgeable when it came to the same profession.
"It should be his talent. Perhaps this guy has a critical strike talent bonus… Or maybe it is a rare skill." Beside the Manipulator, the person regarded as "War's number one Sniper" – Invikill, who was also wearing the September Guild badge on his chest, spoke as he shook his head.
Invikill was certain was that the sniper rifle he was holding was the only completed Level 50 Legendary Grade sniper rifle in the entirety of Storm City.
It was something that the September Guild paid a large price to get their hands on.
Sniper rifles had multiple components. Compared to an alloy sword, which was typically a single-part weapon, the chances of completing it as a set were a lot lower.
If it were not for the fact that the September Guild wanted to make him a trump card capable of competing against Nine-Star Guild's Sword Ki Long River, the September Guild would probably not have paid so much to complete a Legendary Grade sniper rifle set.
Of course, as he was the "Number One Sniper in War," Invikill's face had stiffened after witnessing Feng Luo's accuracy and damage. His grip on his Legendary Grade sniper rifle tightened.
…
"We actually killed it. Did it drop a Chip?" While many players paid attention to Feng Luo's amazing attack damage, more people were more concerned about the Quasi-Boss Hypertoxic Chameleon that they had just killed.
The moment it died, its tiny transparent body that was only one foot in size, dropped a bunch of items on the ground. There were crystals, equipment, rare materials, consumables…
These were decent items; however, an inconspicuous Chip that was about the size of a fingernail had instantly attracted the attention of all those who were looking.
"A Chip really dropped!" Words were unnecessary. Everyone who saw knew what it was.
A Quasi-Boss Chip. It was one of the objectives of most players who took part in this event.
While the Quasi-Boss dropped the Chip that everyone was hoping for, it was impossible for them to pick it up at that moment.
The moment the Quasi-Boss was killed, the Chameleon horde on the hamada had gone berserk. Since they did not have enough firepower support, the outermost defensive line formed by the warrior players was broken through, and a few warrior groups had white lights flashing by.
A large horde of Hyptertoxic Chameleons completely occupied the area around the Quasi-Boss' corpse after they broke through the defensive line. They began a frenzy and continued to attack the players.
At that moment, even if the players wanted to pick up the loot, it was impossible. Their priority was to deal with all of the high-level monsters in front of them.
"Warriors, get back into defensive positions! Get back! Water Manipulators, prepare…"
"Boom, boom…"
"Ta, ta, ta…"
Amidst Frontline Command's desperate shouts that caused his voice to go hoarse, bullets and skills were released. The battlefield on the hamada was finally reaching the fiercest stage.
Without the Quasi-Boss causing havoc in the midst of it all, apart from the Commander Grade Chameleons, none of the other Chameleons were much of a threat to the players.
After reorganizing their formation and with new commands issued, the situation was under control before long, and it quickly became one-sided.
"Boom!"
After three minutes, as the last Level 65 Commander Grade Hypertoxic Chameleon that was a threat to the players fell, the battle finally entered the final stage.
The wide hamada was filled with the corpses of Hypertoxic Chameleons as well as an endless amount of glowing battle loot.
In particular, the area around the Quasi-Boss Hypertoxic Chameleon was the place where most of the last Hypertoxic Chameleons gathered. The location was completely covered in battle loot that was emanating glowing white light. Amidst all the glowing lights, there were over a dozen biochips.
"Ta, ta, ta…"
A Scout player continued to fire his submachine gun. After killing the last Elite Grade Hypertoxic Chameleon, he ran over and bent his waist to pick up one of the pet biochips in the area.
"Bang!"
However, the moment his hands touched the biochip, a searing hot sniper bullet brushed past his palm and struck the ground right in front of him.

Chapter 592: Quasi-Boss Chip Ownership
"Boom!"
The searing hot bullet scratched the Scout player's palm and struck the ground and burst into a ball of flames.
"F*ck! What the f*ck do you mean by this? You're actually attacking me?" The Scout player's hand was engulfed in the flame. However, he still managed to grab a hold of the chip.
He stood up and turned around to look behind him at Feng Luo, who was holding Wings of Death less than ten meters behind him.
"You know full well what I mean." Feng Luo was expressionless as he stared at this random Scout player who previously cursed at him without reservation, even after receiving help and being saved after falling into the water when they were disembarking, as well as the biochip the Scout held in his hand.
While pet biochips had different grades, as dropped loot, all of them emanated a white glow and visually speaking, there was not much difference. As such, all 20 plus chips in the area seemed pretty much the same.
Since a huge battle involving multiple skills and attacks engulfed the area just a few minutes ago, the area had become unrecognizable. Normal people would not have been able to remember where the chip dropped by the Quasi-Boss when it fell.
However, Feng Luo's laser-sharp attention and gaze never left this area.
With his incredibly active mind that far surpassed normal human beings, he knew what the Scout player was holding.
"Drop the Quasi-Boss' chip." Feng Luo said coldly while he aimed the muzzle of Wings of Death at the Scout player.
"Quasi-Boss chip?" At that time, most of the other players had wiped out the last remaining Hypertoxic Chameleons.
Although they had not yet swept the battlefield, many players had started walking over to that location, their intentions were obviously the same as Feng Luo and the Scout.
To players who did not lack equipment, the items dropped by the normal Hypertoxic Chameleons were meaningless. Most of the players were more concerned about the chip dropped by the Quasi-Boss.
After hearing Feng Luo's words, their gaze shifted to the hand of the Scout player. Everyone had a different expression on their faces.
Some frowned while others remained expressionless. However, most of them were looking at the two of them with excitement.
"Mr. Gold, with regards to item distribution, I believe we've already discussed it when we were signing the contract before the mission. The chip dropped by Quasi-Bosses should be distributed according to kill contribution. The player with the highest contribution takes ownership. For you to pick it up like this, don't you think it is inappropriate?" As the organizer, Zi Wei walked over and spoke to the Scout player with a frown.
For most players taking part in this exploration expedition, whether it was a Commander Grade chip or a Rare Grade item, they were not really interested in them.
However, a Quasi-Boss chip was different.
The players taking part in the expedition mostly came for these Quasi-Boss chips. One could even say that Quasi-Boss chips were the sole focus of the expedition. No one would simply just resign and leave it to others.
Additionally, Quasi-Boss monsters were strong, over a dozen players were needed to kill one. It was natural for there to be disagreements and arguments when it came to item ownership.
Initially, based on normal item distribution methods, valuable items would be sold to one of the party members or brought to the auction house in town by one of the team members. The credits obtained from the sale would be distributed based on the contribution percentage.
However, there was a problem with this distribution method. This meant that the guilds that were financially weaker or the more average small-to-medium size guilds would have close to zero chance to obtain these chips.
If they were to really follow this distribution method, those players would have no chance of beating organizations like the top ten guilds which had large financial conglomerates supporting them. In such cases, why would they risk dropping their levels to take part in the expedition?
The expedition also included competition – people from North City. This meant that there was a 50% chance for them to get nothing. That was in addition to the experience points, items, levels, and even fame that they may lose in the process.
Compared to the normal distribution method, Nine-Star Guild included a clause in the digital contract, stating that the Quasi-Boss chip would belong solely to the player with the highest Kill Contribution. This clause was acknowledged and accepted by most of the players.
Apart from allowing the players with weaker financial capabilities the chance to obtain Quasi-Boss chips, this distribution method was also more challenging.
The players present were among the best chosen from the elites of Storm City. They were, without a doubt, very confident in their skills and capabilities, and that they would be able to achieve a decent contribution percentage in battles. If they were lucky enough to achieve a higher kill contribution percentage in the raid against a Boss Grade monster, they would become the owner of a pet biochip of incredible value; they did not need to share it with others.
This distribution method could also help the item owner gain a significant amount of fame.
This expedition garnered the attention of all the players from Storm City. It was not only the players from Storm City, but many players in War were also following this expedition.
The number of chips inside the abandoned ruin was limited. With this sort of distribution method, the player who ultimately obtained the chip would, from a certain point of view, prove that he or she was stronger than the other top players.
Who knows? The Storm City's top ten expert ranking may have to reshuffle by the time they got back…
For most of these players who were superstar players, this might be more important than the chip itself. This was also one of the reasons they agreed to this type of distribution method.
"Hmph! My kill contribution to this Quasi-Boss is 4.7%…" Seeing the others walking towards him, and with Zi Wei appearing, the Scout player's face twisted a little.
However, he did not willingly put the Quasi-Boss pet biochip down. He even showed his system log, which stated his kill contribution, to the others.
"4.7%… It's actually that high?"
"I've only got 0.5%…"
After the Scout player displayed his contribution, the expressions on the surrounding players' face began to change.
While the number did not seem high, it was actually quite decent.
In the process of killing this Quasi-Boss, hundreds of players took part in the attack. In terms of the attack damage output, the average contribution was less than 1%.
Not to mention the fact that War's Kill Contribution computation method was not only in terms of damage output, there was also Doctors' healing, the tanking of warriors, and the impact of Scout players.
For example, Jing Kong's tracing and discovery of the Quasi-Boss using his Legendary Grade recon meter, Frontline Command's instructions and command, and the Heavy Armor Warriors at the forefront defending against the Chameleon horde that provided the other players the chance to safely release their attacks; these were all considered contributions and had a weight in the final calculation.
As such, on average, many of the players did not reach 0.5% contribution.
The Scout player obtaining a contribution percentage that was near 5% was due to the fact that he was fortunate enough to be very close to the Quasi-Boss when it appeared, and he was the first one to strike it. With that, he gained a decent contribution bonus.
Luck was definitely an important factor. Normally, a 5% contribution was certainly good enough for one to take the Quasi-Boss chip.
As such, after the Scout player displayed his kill contribution, a few of the players who obtained a decent kill contribution percentage immediately had a look of disappointment on their faces.
However, another group of players did not even bother looking at the Scout player. Instead, they stared at Feng Luo.
Since the battlefield was quite chaotic when they were attacking the Quasi-Boss, not everyone noticed Feng Luo's performance.
In fact, most players were focused on the Boss monster itself. Due to their positions, many did not notice that many of the important shots came from Feng Luo.
As such, they thought that since the Scout player's kill contribution was high enough that he had a chance at getting the chip, even if he had broken the rule to try to pick it up before they compared their kill contribution, it wasn't all that serious.
However, a few players who were closer to Feng Luo, particularly the commanding players of Nine-Star Guild and Invikill, who specifically paid attention to Feng Luo, knew that the Quasi-Boss chip did not belong to this Scout player.
Feng Luo's shot at crucial moments, as well as his final shot that emptied the Quasi-Boss' HP. This was going to net Feng Luo some bonus contribution points. Additionally, the damage that he achieved from those shots alone would have been enough to go past 5%.
As such, they did not speak. Instead, they simply looked at Feng Luo without paying any heed to the Scout player.
Since the system only showed the kill contribution to the player, these players wanted to know just how high Feng Luo's kill contribution was.

Chapter 593: Exposed Force Awakening
"Damn it! He completely messed up my plans!" The Scout player couldn't help but curse in his mind as he showed his kill contribution to the other players. While it seemed like he was countering Feng Luo's allegation, the Scout player still grimaced.
While he had some sneaky thoughts about the chip, he knew that many people were paying attention to the chip itself. It was very unlikely that he would be able to snatch it without anyone realizing it.
As such, his true objective was to place the chip in his inventory and then place a mark on it using his special talent. This way, he would be able to track the location of the item at all times.
By then, he would use the other players and obtain the chance to turn this incredibly valuable chip into his reward.
Unexpectedly, Feng Luo noticed his movement and fired a shot at him.
"Damn it!" The Scout player had an incredibly ugly grimace. He could only keep holding onto the chip. He did not dare to put it into his inventory. While many of the surrounding players did not notice Feng Luo's performance, the Scout player had when he was still in the scouting team.
The accuracy of his shots was downright shocking.
More importantly was the damage. He was very confident that he would not be able to withstand a shot from this goddamned Sniper.
"Mr. Gold's kill contribution is 4.7%. Mr. Feng, can I inquire about your kill contribution percentage?" Zi Wei turned around and asked Feng Luo apologetically.
The players who could take part in this expedition were not just anyone. Even the Scout player had an incredibly special talent.
"25.5%." Feng Luo said.
"25.5%? That high? A contribution of over one-fourth of the total? How'd you do it?" The player who asked the questions was not just limited to the players who did not notice Feng Luo's performance during the battle, even the players in the minority who had prepared themselves mentally were still shocked.
It was because the number was just too intriguing, as the target was a Quasi-Boss monster.
As top-class players, each and every one of them had faced Quasi-Boss monsters before. At most, the kill contribution would be around 15%.
Those were when the other players in the team had gears that were a lot weaker than them, and under those conditions, they could dish out more damage.
However, for this expedition, whether it was their gears, talent, or skills; they were among the best in War.
Amidst players of that standard, for a player to obtain a contribution total of 20 to 30 players, would it not mean that, from a certain sense, that gap between them and Feng Luo was like that of them and the other elite players?
In reality, these thoughts were a bit exaggerated.
While Feng Luo's kill contribution was high, the main source of his contribution did not come from his damage output. Instead, it was due to the fact that he was effective at several crucial moments.
For example, his first shot made the Quasi-Boss appear, which allowed others to find the target. The third shot broke through its defense. Each of these provided contribution bonuses.
Apart from that, in terms of how the system calculated contribution, it even took into account the Force Potion that Feng Luo provided to Jing Kong. The Force Potion's use was also another crucial factor in the battle.
More importantly, if it weren't for Feng Luo's final shot, the Quasi-Boss might have escaped. With regard to the contribution bonus gained from that shot, it definitely surpassed any normal final hit.
"F*ck me…" However, as many players were still confused and dazzled, a surprised voice came from within the crowd.
"His level…" The one who spoke was a Scout player. At that time, his gaze was jumping between his recon meter and Feng Luo as if he had seen something shocking.
"Level…" The other players did not manage to understand the drastic change in the topic. How did it go from kill contribution to level so quickly?
"Level? What's up with that? Isn't everyone here Level 50? Could this Sniper be lower than Level 50? Even without maxing his level and with his equipment, he still managed to utterly defeat all of us in terms of the kill contribution?" Some players short-circuited.
"His level… He is Level 53." The player who secretly used the Detection skill on Feng Luo finally managed to finish his sentence.
"Level 53? It's just three levels higher than… What? Level 53?" By then, nothing else needed to be said.
Apart from the upper management of Nine-Star Guild and the others like Big Pineapple who knew beforehand, everyone else could not help but stare at Feng Luo.
They did not bother looking at the Scout player who was still holding the pet biochip with an incredibly ugly grimace anymore. If it was any other game, the slightly higher level would have meant nothing.
However, everyone knew that War's current maximum level was Level 50. Feng Luo's Level 53 could only mean one thing.
"Force Awakening!" For the top players, awakening the Force was, without a doubt, one of the most sought after things.
It was even more important than a Quasi-Boss pet biochip.
The reason was simple. No matter how strong a pet was, it was ultimately an "external force." Only the Force, something that was the strongest attribute in the currently in War, was considered one's own strength.
Defeating an opponent with a pet would only allow one to be praised as having a strong pet. One might even be scolded by the opponent's fans. However, if one defeated one's opponent with the Force, it would be a completely different story.
More importantly, at the current juncture, apart from Invikill, no second person had appeared to have awakened the Force in War even after so long.
This caused the topic to gain even more attention. By then, the popularity of the topic was even higher than before.
No matter who it was, anyone who awakened the Force at this moment would gain a lot of fame.
For the majority of players present, who were superstar players, the attractiveness of gaining the Force was above the possession of a Quasi-Boss pet biochip.
"Agh! How regretful!"
"Indeed, this is hard to take."
At that moment, the opportunity to increase their fame was no longer available. A few players who had been aiming for that could not help but feel a bit depressed.
"He has already awakened the Force. No wonder his contribution is so much higher than us!"
"I guess that's one positive about it…"
Feng Luo awakening the Force was definitely not a "happy thing" for them.
However, for these superstar players, it was at least a reason for them to be surpassed by a random player and losing one-fourth of the kill contribution to that player.
"He has already awakened the Force. No wonder his damage is so high…" The Manipulator player from the September Guild showed an expression of realization at that moment.
Everyone knew the fact that one's basic stats would practically double after awakening the Force. More importantly, they would also be able to use the bonus skills on their Legendary Grade items.
With that, they had obtained an explanation for Feng Luo's high damage.
The Manipulator then turned around to look at Invikill standing behind him with an odd expression. "But it looks like Invikill, old boy, you've finally got a competitor now."

Chapter 594: Low or High Profile
Invikill's expression was undoubtedly very serious. One could say he was grimacing.
Feng Luo was the "Second player to awaken the Force in War." In addition, they had the same profession, Sniper. To him, the "Number one Sniper in War," Feng Luo was a direct threat.
In addition to that, there were also the words of the surrounding players, whether they were intentional or non-intentional.
"Hold on a minute. The Detection skill showed that Feng Luo's level is 53, but Invikill is only Level 52 right now…" The gaze of some of the players from the top ten guilds began to shift between Feng Luo and Invikill as if they were thinking about something while speaking teasingly.
"Levels don't really necessarily mean first or second, right? Invikill spent most of his time taking part in guild activities and events. Going behind in levels is more than normal." Some players disagreed.
"Most importantly, anyone would immediately reveal the news after awakening the Force. It is incredibly beneficial after all. Do you think that someone would hide the fact that they have awakened the Force? Your guesses are impossible."
"You're wrong. He is already Level 53. Although the daily experience limit after Level 50 has increased, he would still technically need ten days to get to Level 53, right?"
"He's already awakened the Force for around ten days, yet there hasn't been any such news. It is clear that he had no intention to reveal this… Not everyone wants to become famous after all. Don't forget that back then when Invikill awakened the Force, it came from some internal source…" The player from one of the top ten guilds who spoke earlier continued to speak with an intrigued expression.
The other player no longer spoke. His confused gaze shifted between Feng Luo and Invikill.
However, Invikill, who was standing not that far away, remained quiet. His expression could not be seen. It was as if he had not heard any of the conversation going on.
As for Feng Luo, his cold gaze remained fixed on the Scout player.
"Take it!" The Scout player had an ugly grimace. He gritted his teeth and passed the chip to Feng Luo.
With his personality, he wanted to throw the chip back on the ground. However, with Feng Luo's rifle muzzle aimed straight at him, he did not dare do that.
Since Feng Luo had awakened the Force, the Scout was certain that it was impossible for him to best Feng Luo in combat.
Although he had a few teammates who were just as strong as him, since he had encountered Feng Luo during disembarkation to the island, he knew that Feng Luo had a lot more acquaintance. Moreover, this "superstar" seemed to have a close relationship with the organizer of the expedition – the Nine-Star Guild.
He no longer had any chance to do anything, which meant that he could only hand the chip over to Feng Luo.
Feng Luo received the pet biochip from the Scout and confirmed the chip's grade.
[Second Generation Biochip (Model: OD-S2). Grade: Highest. Application Scope: DXY-1XXXX type creatures]
The first Quasi-Boss chip was finally in his hands.
Considering its market value, the 500 million credits was finally not a dream. Once he returned to the city, he would be able to prepare the production equipment for Legendary Grade gears.
Of course, the prerequisite was that they had to defeat the North City in the exploration expedition, due to the fact that every loot they obtained on the island would drop if they died.
The reason the Scout player handed the chip over to Feng Luo was also due to this. In other places, if one was able to snatch a battle loot, one might try to put it into one's inventory since it may not drop if the player died. As long as it did not drop, the players would make a huge profit.
However, on this island, even if he put the chip into his inventory, it was guaranteed to drop once he died. So, he could only grit his teeth and hand it over.
At that moment, he was facing the cold stares and ridiculing gaze of many players. He could only leave and meet up with his teammates before moving quickly to the edge of the battlefield where there were fewer players.
"Hmph. Don't think that I've run out of options… Just you wait, when the people from North City get here…" As he walked, the Scout player glared at Feng Luo, who was surrounded by various players from the top guilds, while thinking vengeful thoughts.
…
"Captain Feng, congratulations. Now, there is no way for you to remain low profile anymore!" Stated a laughing Phoenix.
"Old Feng, why are you so high profile this time? Can't you wait for me to awaken the Force and enjoy the treatment of superstar players? I'm starting to make some progress." Big Pineapple said with a jealous tone as well as a "pretentious" expression, seemingly wanting to be in Feng Luo's shoes.
"Holy crap, Old Feng, you're really tight-lipped, huh! And here I was thinking that you're my bro!" At that moment, Zhao Yun also sighed and shook his head, not bothering with the fact that he had only known Feng Luo and the others for one day.
As "Storm City's Number Two Expert," he desired the special stat of the Force as well.
The day before, when he spoke to Big Pineapple and Feng Luo, they mentioned the Force; however, whether it was Big Pineapple or Feng Luo, whenever they talked about it, the two of them had weird expressions on their faces, they never mentioned this to him at all.
However, Zhao Yun was only joking. After all, they've only just met, it was more than normal for one to not reveal something like this. He knew from Feng Luo's actions that Feng Luo was used to keeping a low profile.
Now that it was revealed that he possessed the Force in a situation like this, it was just as Phoenix mentioned, there was no way for him to maintain his low profile anymore.
At least his ID – "Feng Zhi Luo Ye" had no way of maintaining a low profile. Feng Luo activated the recording limitation, which meant that his character's face could not be recorded and thus would not be uploaded to the forum, the only remaining thing was his ID.
It wasn't only because he had awakened the Force; it was also because he was a Sniper, which was the same profession as Invikill.
The September Guild spent a lot of effort and money to push Invikill's popularity up to the highest level in War. His best title was the "Number one Sniper" who was the only one who had awakened the Force.
Now things were getting interesting.
While none of them could get on the forum at that moment since they were in a mission, once any player died, the news would spread almost instantly. By the time the mission was completed, the topic would definitely be hot news on the forum.
"Mr. Feng, congratulations. But with your strength, becoming famous was inevitable, it was simply either sooner or later…" With regard to Feng Luo awakening the Force, Red Queen congratulated him while lamenting him at the same time.
She was feeling quite conflicted at the moment. Back when she first hired Feng Luo, while he was quite capable and strong, he was only a normal random player who had just passed Level 40 and was equipped with Excellent Grade items.
In a few short months, Feng Luo had reached this stage.
For now, since he had awakened the Force, in terms of strength, Feng Luo was one of the best.
Due to various reasons, his popularity would, without a doubt, be comparable to the best superstar players.
After congratulating Feng Luo, Red Queen suddenly whispered to him, "Mr. Feng, you probably awakened the Force before Invikill, right?"
The day before, when the female Scout talked about Invikill being the number one player to awaken the Force on the military ship, both Phoenix and Big Pineapple glanced at Feng Luo.
Back then, Red Queen thought it was a bit weird; but now, with the facts presented in front of her, she was quite certain of this one more thing.
"Hah…" Feng Luo laughed but did not answer.
Neutron Star had a look of admiration on his face. After congratulating Feng Luo, he could not help but put his wandering thoughts into words, "War's first and second players to awaken the Force are from Storm City. And they're both Snipers. Could it be that Storm City has an advantage for Snipers to awaken the Force?" He said that in a joking manner.
After the news spread, many players thought about that seriously.
In the end, many gunner players changed into the Sniper profession, which ultimately increased the percentage of Sniper players by a few tenths of a percent.
It also increased the high-standard players in Storm City by a few tenths of a percent.

Chapter 595: Nine Star Guild's True Objective
Apart from old acquaintances like Red Queen and the others, many other superstar players from other guilds also came to talk to Feng Luo, exchanging name cards and becoming friends.
Feng Luo did not decline their offers, as these players were not just superstar players, they were also potential clients for his Force Potion sales as well as his Legendary Grade equipment workshop.
However, the players from Nine-Star Guild who were acquainted with Feng Luo did not go to harass him.
While the battle in the hamada had ended, they still had not dealt with the research facility, and was the next priority.
The people from Nine-Star Guild had mobilized the robots and were moving towards the research facility to scout the area.
As an abandoned building, the base had not been maintained for many years. Many sections had collapsed. However, they did not encounter any problems when getting inside.
Apart from a few low level Young Hypertoxic Chameleons that did not have camouflage skills were easily dealt with by the players. The most difficult part was a large alloy door that was completely locked.
However, it was not something that the players could not deal with.
The Advanced Level Chip Master and Machinist that Nine-Star Guild brought along spent a few minutes to open the door.
After that, the core laboratory that had remained well-maintained appeared before their eyes.
The laboratory did not have anything valuable inside. At the very least, it did not have many completed pet biochips that many players had imagined inside.
Only a few pieces of potion production equipment and a few production materials that had been very well preserved remained inside.
The Poison Resistance Potion created after a refining process by Doctor players using the equipment and materials in the lab combined with the rare materials dropped by the Hypertoxic Chameleons was able to reduce the Hypertoxic Chameleons' poison effect by 95% at most.
These lizards' best attack method was their poison. Not only was their poison capable of continuously reducing one's HP, but it was also able to impair a player's vision.
In particular, the Quasi-Boss Grade Hypertoxic Chameleon, once bitten, apart from Heavy Armor Warriors, there was no solution available.
With these potions, if they were to ever encounter the Hypertoxic Chameleons again, the threat of the poison would no longer exist.
…
"Mr. Feng, the potion that you gave Jing Kong earlier… I'm wondering if you have any more?"
After thoroughly exploring the base and leaving a few players behind to produce the potion, the team was ready to head towards the next research base.
At that time, the deputy guild leader of Nine-Star Guild, Zi Wei, finally came to look for Feng Luo.
"Force Potion…" Feng Luo fell silent for a brief moment. He raised his head, looked at Zi Wei, and said, "I do have some with me… But I have a question. Can I take the liberty to ask you something?"
"Please go ahead and ask, Mr. Feng." Zi Wei nodded.
"I wanted to ask… Is the Nine-Star Guild's true intention for this expedition the pet biochip?" Feng Luo asked.
His question seemed odd. Technically speaking, the Nine-Star Guild most definitely took the abandoned ruin exploration mission for the pet biochips. Otherwise, why would they spend so much time and effort to get there?
Nonetheless, Feng Luo had his reasons for asking this question.
Unlike other factions, while there was the clause stating that the one with the highest kill contribution would obtain the Quasi-Boss' chip, as the organizer, the Nine-Star Guild had over 200 players. They could easily clear the bases with their own strength and by doing so, guarantee themselves in obtaining at least one Quasi-Boss chip.
However, not only did they not do that, but they took the role of the vanguard, fighting battles at the frontline and clearing the way for the others.
"Haha, in truth, we don't really have to hide this from you. Our guild is exploring for the pet biochip. However, we're not after the Quasi-Boss biochip of these branch bases. Our true objective is the main base. Inside the main base, apart from the possible Boss Grade chip, from our mission information, there is also a whole set of pet biochip production equipment, rare materials, as well as related production materials…" As Zi Wei reached this point, Feng Luo understood what it meant and could not hide the surprise on his face.
Pet biochip production equipment. Naturally, there is no need to talk about its uses.
Although theoretically speaking, even if one were to obtain the equipment, one would not be able to immediately produce Quasi-Boss Grade chips due to constraints set up by the system, a guild could still be able to use it to bolster their influence and strength.
The Nine-Star Guild would be able to surpass the other normal guilds. It was possible for them to become the first mega guild that was filled with Elite Grade or even Commander Grade pets.
To a certain degree, production equipment like this was a lot more meaningful than a few pieces of Quasi-Boss biochips. No wonder they did not seem to care much about that Quasi-Boss pet biochip, and North City's SK Guild which also had the same mission was probably aiming for the same thing.
"I certainly have Force Potions, but since I don't have a lot on me right now, I can only provide you guys with nine." At that moment, Feng Luo took a potion box out of his inventory and handed it over to Zi Wei.
With regard to the Nine-Star Guild inquiring him about the Force Potion, Feng Luo had expected it from the beginning.
He had asked the question he asked because he wanted to determine the value of the Force Potion to the Nine-Star Guild through Zi Wei's answer. Then, he would be able to determine the credits as well.
The cost of producing the Force Potion was already quite high, it was a lot higher than normal consumable items.
He gave them so many potions because he had his considerations.
First of all, Nine-Star Guild had many members. As such, they had a larger demand. For example, Frontline Command's device needed the Force to be truly effective in a battle.
Secondly, since he did not have a lot of potions available, if he were to give it to the other guilds or other random players, the others might come to him one by one and he would have no time to do anything else.
As such, he gave up his initial ideas and decided to let Nine Star-Guild become the Force Potion's "representative."
"These potions will start being auctioned at Huan Yu auction house in the near future. By then, I'll have to humbly request for your prestigious Nine-Star Guild to help promote it a little." Feng Luo said after Zi Wei received the Force Potions with a delighted face.
"Yes, but of course. Also, Mr. Feng, for these ten Force Potions, we'll pay you by the price of the first batch of potion sold at the auction house plus another 50%." Zi Wei's reply caught Feng Luo by surprise.
The price of the first batch was definitely going to be very high.
Zi Wei also promised to add another 50% on top of that. It was incredibly generous. In addition, she also quietly included the one given by Jing Kong earlier in the calculation.
This made Feng Luo feel as if he was a little bit too calculative.
The way this woman worked, she really showed that she was among the most capable.

Chapter 596: Man Eating Flower
A bright moon appeared in the dark night sky.
On the island, a layer of fog seemed to have reappeared under the moonlight.
However, compared to the day where the thick fog significantly impaired one's vision, the fog at night did not seem to affect one's ability to fight.
On the contrary, the light green fog flowed along with the players walking past a forest of dark trees with sharp and leafless branches, with the ground filled with rotten branches, leaves, and mud; creating a very eerie atmosphere.
"That's odd, we've been walking for around a minute after entering this forest. Even with so many people, we haven't encountered one monster… Green Arrow sis, did you discover anything?" Walking beside Feng Luo, Big Pineapple looked around with his alloy shield in hand and asked suspiciously.
The tall and slender female Scout wearing tactical eyewear who was looking around answered, "Nothing yet."
Green Arrow, the name that Feng Luo couldn't help think was odd. It was the name of the Scout player who was the newest member of Red Queen's party.
"However, she's another player with a colored ID. Does Red Queen have a preference for these types of players?" Feng Luo thought to himself.
With Wings of Death in hand, Feng Luo observed his surroundings from time to time through his sniping scope's night vision while walking.
It had been half an hour since they cleared the first base, and by then, the group had entered within a kilometer of the second.
However, just one minute ago, after the mission team entered this part of the forest, the situation started to become eerie. They had not encountered any monsters yet.
Not to mention not encountering a monster, but the Scout's recon meter could not find the trace of any monster even after using comprehensive scanning.
"Could it be that the monster around this base is another monster that has the camouflage ability?" When considering that possibility, many people were having headaches.
Although the losses caused by the Hypertoxic Chameleon from earlier was not too large, their ability to merge with the surrounding environment made the fighting process quite difficult as well.
To many, they hoped to not ever encounter that type of monster again.
"Scouts, fire a low altitude flare." Frontline Command's instructions came from the vanguard.
After selling Force Potions to the Nine-Star Guild, Feng Luo no longer had to worry about Frontline Command's operation of his device.
As such, Feng Luo had now rendezvoused with Big Pineapple and the others, and abiding by their previous arrangement, combined his and Red Queen's squads into one, walking in the middle.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…"
A few whooshing sounds appeared and a series of low altitude flares flew above the forest.
Considering the fact that the players from North City were also on the same island, the group did not use a high altitude flare since they did not want to expose their position to their enemies. However, the forest was just too eerie, and to see a little bit better, after some consideration, the Nine-Star Guild's upper management team decided to light up a few flares first to widen their vision.
"Whoosh…"
Not far ahead of Feng Luo's group, a Scout player from the Nine-Star Guild also grabbed a hold of his flare gun and fired a shot after hearing the instructions.
Just as the flare was shot, he felt one of his calves tighten and his entire body was pulled down onto the ground by a strong pulling force.
"Puff, puff, puff, puff!"
It was not only the Scout player. When the flare flew into the air and brightened up the surrounding, seven other players around the Scout player had also suddenly fallen to the ground. They seemed to be pulled and dragged by a formless thing on the muddy ground filled with rotted leaves and branches, towards a darker part of the forest.
"Agh! Damn it!"
"F*ck this… What the hell is this?"
"Hurry up and help!"
The players who were being dragged away could only feel a strong pulling force moving them. Since one of their legs was being dragged, they could not stabilize their bodies. And their first reaction was to call for help.
"Bang!"
A sniper rifle gunshot rang in the air. The Nine-Star Guild's Scout player suddenly felt the grip loosen as the force holding his leg disappeared.
"Dong!"
However, momentum still caused him to slide on the ground for a certain distance, ultimately slamming into a tree trunk before stopping. He looked completely ravaged.
While he was in a very battered state, his situation was still a lot better than the other six players who did not receive help on time. At that time, they had been dragged out of the other players' sight.
Not everyone was capable of one-shotting and breaking off the dark green twine-like "rope" that wrapped around their legs and writhed like a snake after being torn apart.
"Over there!"
Without saying much, after the few of those were dragged away, the first thing the surrounding players chose to do was to pursue them.
The Scout players in the team immediately fired a flare towards that direction.
After chasing for around 20 meters, Feng Luo's group finally saw the thing that was dragging people away.
On top of an empty area inside the forest, over ten large "flowers" with white and red spots over four meters long in diameter were swaying and dancing in the air while emanating a fresh fragrance.
Apart from that, closer to the players' position were five flower buds that had not yet blossomed. They were shaped like humans and they were shaking violently.
There was a Machine Gunner who managed to halfway struggle free by himself and managed to cause a few seconds' delay but had ultimately failed.
A dark green flower vine that was as thick as an arm was wrapped around the Machine Gunner's leg. It dragged him over and placed him beside a disc-shaped large flower.
The giant flower that was exquisitely beautiful and stylish still emanating a fragrance suddenly jerked towards the player. As if a python devouring its prey, the flower ate the player just like that.
The red and white spotted petals of the flower started to shrink towards the middle. It seemed the same as a python trying to squeeze its prey to death.
"F*ck me! What is this monster? A flower that eats people?" The appearance of the monster made a few feel chills down their spine.
However, a few had already begun their attacks. After all, the key right now was to rescue the others.
"Ta, ta, ta…"
A series of submachine gun bullets struck one of the flower buds that had bundled up a player inside.
"-44, -39, -42…"
The damage number was shockingly low.
"Hiss!"
The flower that was struck by the bullets let out a shriek as if it was alive. Dark red liquid began oozing out of the spots struck by the bullets as if it was really bleeding.
"Red and White Spotted Python Flower (Level 60 Commander). Special Transboundary Species. HP: 120,000… Possesses the dual characteristics of plants and animals." Green Arrow quickly cast a Detection skill at the monster and reported her findings to the others in the team.

Chapter 597: Two Legendary-Grade Weapons
Spotted Python Flower?
Everyone stared at the flower which had just eaten a player and tightly coiled into a long structure, realizing that the name was really symbolic.
Didn't the dark reddish-white markings look like the disguise of a python in the forest?
Not to mention those agile vines with a similar thickness to snakes.
Moreover, these vines were very firm too. Although Feng Luo had previously broken the one which was dragging the Nine-Star Guild Scout player with just one shot, it was only broken by one shot as the destruction coefficient of the Wings of Death was a B-Grade, in addition to the destruction power of the bullet.
The Wind Blades, Ice Arrows, and even submachine gun bullets thrown out by the other players were unable to take effect immediately upon hitting the vines.
Furthermore, those gigantic spotted flower discs were very tough too; although they were unable to absorb the submachine gun bullets, the players wrapped inside were unable to free themselves no matter how they struggled.
No matter how high the damage should have been, the damage coefficients from the attacks that the players threw on the flower petals did not exceed 50.
Compared with this Commander-Grade monster with over 100,000 HP, it was completely futile.
It was the health of the few players swallowed inside that was dropping at a few hundreds per second.
It would not really work for the Warrior players in their team to charge in and rescue. After receiving the first round of attacks from the players, under the cover of the rotting leaves on the ground full of mud, 10 more dark green vines were thrown out, twisting like pythons as they wrapped themselves around the players.
Seeing the situation, this Commander monster had the intention of massacring the incoming players.
"Slap!"
As a close-combat player, Neutron Star had already taken a step forward, the long Alloy Sword in his right hand cut the air with a whoosh as it slashed towards a vine lured over by a distracting Ice Arrow.
"-367!"
The Alloy Longsword chopped down on the vine that somersaulted into the air like a snake, but the damage inflicted was not much.
Although a huge amount of dark red blood shot out with this slash, the vine was not completely cut but instantly changed its target, coiling towards the sword-holding arm of Neutron Star who was too late to react.
"Pu!"
"-2234!"
Just then, a fiery red silhouette flashed beside Neutron Star.
A fiery-colored sword with golden spots flitted past, and the vine broke clean like grass being cut at the spot where Neutron Star had just chopped it halfway through and where it was able to absorb seven or eight submachine gun bullets hitting the same spot.
"Hiss!"
Left with half a section, the vine swiftly retracted as if in pain.
"It escaped?" Phoenix looked like she was unfinished as she gave chase with a step forward.
"Indeed it did. This sword should be a Legendary equipment." Envy flashed in Neutron Star's eyes as he stared at her sword, dripping with dark red blood, held by Phoenix who was counterattacking. The hilt of the sword had a flame totem with hollow cuts, and at first glance, it was as if there were circling flames inside the transparent crystal.
…
"Ping!"
The Wings of Death in Feng Luo's hands opened fire, a Normal-Grade armor-piercing bullet shot towards a gigantic swaying flower disc.
"-50!"
A white damage of not even 100.
Was it really so?
Seeing that the damage was just 50 with his attack power, the next bullet from Feng Luo, who had engaged freestyle mode, quickly changed target.
"Ping!"
The second bullet hit the dark green horizontal underground stem, which was exposed as the flower discs were enclosing a player.
"-4690!"
The stem was as thick as an adult's arm had broke into two parts with Feng Luo's shot.
A huge amount of blood quickly gushed out, and a yellow damage coefficient of over 4500 emerged.
The damage had quickly risen; as a creature with plant-like features, the nutrient-absorbing stem was more important than the flower petals that were solely for prey-catching.
However, the flower discs that had lost the binding of the vines still thrashed for a bit before finally dying completely and opening up, spitting out the low-health players inside, covered in some goo as if spat out from the stomach of a snake.
The attack method of this python flower was a little puzzling. Upon being swallowed, as they were wrapped tightly by the flower discs, the players inside could not struggle and all they could do was to await their deaths. With more than 10 madly swaying and coiling flexible stems, the close-combat professions temporarily had no way of going close for rescue, and could only rely on the long-range professions for the rescue.
"Ping!"
Black Panther, who had also fired a shot, creased her forehead after seeing her bullet that had just brushed across the stem and missed.
The surface area of these flower discs were very huge, while the root area was much smaller and thinner, and was even continuously moving – it was not easy for a Sniper to shoot accurately.
However, long-range professions did not have just Snipers.
"Da, da, da…"
A series of gunshots sounded and humongous bullets showered like a metallic storm, instantly tearing a flower that was engulfing players into bits and pieces, at the same time blowing up the horizontal stem below into powder as well.
Compared with the Sniper with a higher required skill, Machine Gunners could be said to be absolutely unskilled.
If it was not for the fact that it was a Light Armored Warrior that was swallowed, the accidental damage of this round of bullets would have slayed their own people.
In contrast, the attack of another profession was more effective.
"Weng, weng!"
In the sky, the fire cloud that had brewed for a few seconds had completely taken shape.
"-3345!"
"-335, -335, -335…"
One by one, the scorching fireballs erupting black smoke fell down onto the flower discs and flowers, rapidly burning the screaming flower discs into ash, while flames erupted on the nearby stems.
"Bazoom!"
"-754, -775, -801…"
On the ground, seas of flames spread rapidly, engulfing the gigantic flower stems, and the damage coefficients rapidly surged with the continuous fire power.
At the back of each damage coefficient was a continuous 100% high additional burning damage.
Not far away beside Feng Luo, Red Queen was holding onto an semi-transparent Energy Converter swirling with flame-like essence throughout the entire structure. The Fire Energy around her swirled, making her look as if she was standing in flames.
"This damage…" Feng Luo was shocked.
Red Queen's output was very high – there was no doubt about this as Feng Luo knew that her Talent was an S-Grade attack Talent able to include a 100% burning damage in the skill.
However, the colors of the burning damages and skill damages were different.
Just the basic damage of Red Queen's two skills had surpassed many Fire Manipulators with full-set quality Rare equipment…
"Is it a Legendary equipment? It's rather pretty surprising indeed…" Feng Luo glanced at that eye-catching Energy Converter in Red Queen's hands.

Chapter 598: The Sniper's Disadvantages
As Feng Luo was at the Nine-Star Guild previously when they were raiding the first base, plus as Red Queen seldom made moves when they encountered monsters along the way, Feng Luo did not realize before the uniqueness of this Energy Converter in her hands.
But now, Feng Luo had to reevaluate Red Queen.
The fact that plants were vulnerable to fire, but a skill with such lasting damage was able to inflict such a high damage – it absolutely incisively displayed the prowess of the output ability of the Fire Manipulator, "War's number one violent" profession.
Most importantly, it was the fact that damage coefficients had emerged above the dozen or so flowers as well.
In just two seconds, over 30% of the health of this Level 60 Commander monster had been burned away by the flames.
Looking at it as a single unit, compared to him who had awakened the Force, such an output was multiple times more powerful.
Furthermore, speaking in terms of the ability in damage effect, it was also more effective than him.
As this inter-world monster named Python Flower was a little special, it had over 20 flowers plus 10 over vines, and the health of every flower and vine was independent. Although Feng Luo was able to break both flower discs and vines with one shot, to really eliminate one Commander monster would require over 30 guns at least.
On the other hand, with just these two continuous skills, Red Queen had engulfed all the gigantic flowers and vines; taking on a Level 60 Commander monster solo.
Technically, Red Queen, with a complete Legendary-Grade Energy Converter, had a chance of performing such a feat.
Of course, saying it was solo was not accurate.
This was under the prerequisite of having Neutron Star, Big Pineapple, and Phoenix hold up their weapons and helping her take down over 10 vines that had given up on other targets and were all madly attacking her.
…
Just five seconds after, with Red Queen's violent range skill, this extremely slow-moving Commander monster, which wanted to uproot its horizontal underground stem and escape, had been cleared of all its health.
Unluckily, this Level 60 Commander-Grade did not produce any Pet Chips.
On the ground, it had only left some manufacturing material and Energy Crystals, and a piece of Level 60 Excellent-Grade equipment.
"There's no Chips…but who knows this Fire Manipulator, how's her output so high?"
"Not wearing a guild insignia, should be a casual player…"
It was not just them who had encountered the Python Flower, the moment the flashbang was shot into the sky, over 10 positions of the team were being attacked at the same time.
Only tens of players had come over here.
Seeing the battle process, many of them had expressed shock towards Red Queen's damage.
"Such monsters are too advantageous for Manipulators compared to the other professions… but luckily, this way, it'd at least be impossible for that Sniper who has awakened the Force to snatch this second Chip."
"Indeed, this is rather good news."
There were also players whose focus was on Feng Luo.
It could not be helped, after Feng Luo had revealed the fact that he had awakened the Force, there were many people observing him in secret, intentionally and unintentionally.
Due to the damage-creating ability Feng Luo had previously shown, and the prowess of being able to use Legendary equipment skills after awakening the Force, it had made them quickly feel the threat of Feng Luo to them obtaining the Quasi-Boss Chip.
This threat was even bigger than Invikill, as he was a star player, thus everyone knew that the nature of his Talent was not completely an attack type, and that his Force attribute was invisibility which had no help in farming monsters.
Rather, it was Feng Luo, a Sniper whom nobody knew before but who suddenly emerged from activities and had high damage, who had secured much of an upper hand in earning a Chip by having the highest Contribution.
Hence, getting the information about the monsters in this region, many people heaved sighs of relief.
"Not just the Sniper, we've no more chance at the second Quasi-Boss." Of course, some people among these players thought of themselves and similarly could not avoid feeling a little disappointed.
With the uniqueness demonstrated by this second type of monster in the battle just now, both Warriors and Gunners did not have much advantage over it.
Only Manipulators could truly face them, moreover Fire Manipulators who had the ability to contain it.
This viewpoint would be even more certain when the players continued moving and arrived at the second research base a few minutes later.
The second research base was in a slightly dented field plot terrain.
Planted on this field plot were gigantic swaying flower discs with red and white spots, the numbers of which were completely unable to be estimated with the naked eye. Also swimming dark green-colored vines beneath the flower discs like venomous snakes, letting out horrifying noises like those of slithering snakes.
"Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…"
The moment the players appeared, under the shine of the bright moonlight from the sky, countless vines on the large field plot had somersaulted into the air with dirt.
One by one, they coiled towards the players like venomous snakes. The players were instantly swallowed by the gigantic flower discs once they were pulled over.
"Heavy Armored Warriors, engage Unmovable Mountain skill! Light Armored Warriors, cut the vines! Fire Manipulators, prepare Sea of Fire, Firewalls…" As a sky full of vines charged over, Frontline Command's voice reached the ears of the surrounding Nine-Star Guild players.
"Boom, boom, boom…"
One after another, skills of all sorts of colors started being charged up or thrown out.
"Da, da, da…"
Bullets with tails of flames were shot out or ignited. The battle had gone straight into the most rigorous, climatic section right from the start.
"Pu!"
Feng Luo, holding his Ghost Weep, cut a vine that had wrapped around his waist into two. His left hand in the Black Eagle glove grabbed onto the section that was still wiggling and tossed it into the continuous sea of fire over 10 meters from him.
He had not chosen to use a sniper rifle for the battle but chose to switch to the Light Armored Warrior profession for close-combat.
As he had predicted before, Snipers were really of not much use in this battle.
Regardless how much stronger a Sniper was, one would only be able to break at most one flower or horizontal underground stem or vine, but even these Normal Python Flower monsters of the lowest Grade had seven or eight flowers and five or six vines.
The main thing was that these flowers and vines were completely entangled together. With just a sniper rifle, one would have no way of finding all the extensions of a Spotted Python Flower even after a few minutes.
Furthermore, those horizontal underground stems that were considered weak-points were also covered by the dense flower discs. As such, it was very hard for him to use a sniper rifle to complete one kill.
Rather, with Manipulator skills, there was no need for any accuracy – Seas of Fire, Blizzards, Tornadoes, Meteorites…
One after another, Manipulator skills bloomed in this huge sea of flowers. Their visions were all a flurry with damage coefficients and Energy colors.

Chapter 599: Belonging of the Second Chip
The monster within the blast was dominated by the red colored flames.
As a Manipulator, the profession with the most violent output in War and with fancy skills, the Fire Manipulator firmly secured the number one spot among high-end players.
In this team of 500 people, the number of Fire Manipulators was more than 10%.
Over 50 Fire Manipulators taking turns to unleash their range skills had pushed the team speedily forward towards the research base in the center.
"Boom!"
"-3040, -3550, -3150!"
Red Queen threw a Fireball combo, covering an entire seven or eight dark green horizontal underground stems within an area.
[Your teammate has killed Red and White Spotted Python Flower (Level 55, Elite), you have earned XP: 56.]
[Your teammate has killed Red and White Spotted Python Flower (Level 52, Normal), you have earned…]
[Your teammate…]
The damage coefficients in Feng Luo's vision were eliminated, once again proving that when it came to ground output ability, other than Machine Gunners, there was no one able to compare with Fire Manipulators.
Machine Gunners needed huge amounts of gunpowder, and with the threat of the North City players, no one Machine Gunner would dare to generously splurge their bullets.
…
"Like this, we should have a great chance at the second Quasi-Boss Chip."
"Boom!"
Letting out a skill, he easily bombed the underground stems that were twisted into a ball on the ground into bits and pieces.
In the center of the team, the Nine-Star Guild Manipulator looked like he was full of anticipation.
As a Fire Manipulator, with a very powerful A-Grade attack talent and with two pieces of damage-enhancing Legendary equipment, he was very hopeful for a Quasi-Boss Chip.
Especially due to the fact that the teammates who had awakened the Force were unable to compete with him due to the attributes of this monster.
"Don't be careless! In the team of that Sniper Feng Zhi Luo Ye, it seems like there's also a very powerful Fire Energy Manipulator!" Invikill similarly gave up the idea of competing for this Quasi-Boss Chip, but still reminded his companions.
…
"General Red, not sure if you have the idea of competing for this second Quasi-Boss Chip?" Feng Luo held Ghost Weep in reverse, the sharp blade once again effortlessly cut off a coiling vine.
He suddenly took a few steps backward and went close to Red Queen.
"What does Mister Feng mean, you have a way?" Red Queen let out a skill, turning towards Feng Luo after burning an area of underground stems and flowers once again.
Although her face was expressionless, her eyes had much anticipation.
She possessed a complete Legendary-Grade Energy Converter – this should be the top of all the players participating.
The Energy Converter and sniper rifle were both assembled weapon equipment, therefore it was very possible that there were just one or two complete ones in the entirety of Storm City. Although there were no complete ones, it was very likely that there were those only lacking a few components in other Fire Manipulators' hands – they would not be very inferior in terms of raised attack.
Although she had an S-Grade talent and her skills would have a 100% burning bonus, most of the Fire Manipulators who had become star players also had Energy attack-type talents.
Especially with the fact that the effect of her talent was very strong, the burning damage had a flaw, which was that it was slightly lacking in terms of explosiveness since its damage was continuous in nature.
Although she had certain confidence in being able to win this Quasi-Boss Chip, she could not guarantee that she would get it.
"I suppose your weapon is Legendary equipment?" Feng Luo asked Red Queen directly.
"Mister Feng has such a good eye…" Red Queen nodded.
"That's good then…" Upon confirming this, Feng Luo quickly took out from his backpack two Force Potions.
He could no longer get his hands on this Quasi-Boss Chip. However, it did not mean that "his own people" would not be able to get it.
Red Queen was considered to be one of those who were more acquainted with him, and the two were in a team at the moment. For Red Queen, as one of his people to get this Quasi-Boss Chip, it was better than if it were others who had gotten it.
Besides being able to be in a box at the front few on auctions, Red Queen was definitely a potential customer of Force Potions.
…
10 minutes later, the battle began to enter its final stage.
The Python Flower's numbers were extremely large in this sea of flowers, but as they moved slowly and had the flaw of not having truly meaningful long-range attacks, it was easier than the previous battle with the Hypertoxic Lizards.
At the moment, half of the Python Flowers were cleared, and the team was only over 100 meters away from the second research base infested with countless vines and giant flowers.
"Quasi-Boss discovered!" With a Recon Meter out, Green Arrow stared at the blinking orange light and reminded Red Queen.
"Roger!" Red Queen nodded and reached out to inject a purple Quasi-Force Potion into her neck.
Two seconds later, the Energy Converter in her hand emitted a high temperature, and a shapeless Energy mixture of Fire Energy extended out from behind Red Queen's flowing Energy robe, forming a fireball.
A fiery red fireball around the size of a basketball, with an orange-red surface like that of a planet mixed with gold.
"Just a fireball?" Feng Luo did not expect that the included skill of Red Queen's Legendary equipment was such a basic skill resembling a fireball skill.
However, it wasn't a fireball.
Feng Luo's eyes narrowed.
Around Red Queen, in about less than one second, a second fireball had formed, then a third, a fourth…10 seconds later, Red Queen was surrounded with over 10 fireballs radiating with thick and dense Fire Energy, where even Feng Luo was unable to see with his Sniper vision.
"Sou!"
As Red Queen raised up her hand, a Force Fireball with flames circling like on a meteorite charged towards the area of the flowerbed.
It was engulfed by the gigantic flower discs and all sorts of skills and attacks which were shot over.
In just less than one second…
"Boom!"
The area suddenly erupted into an Energy sphere that was continuously spreading into the surrounding area, like a life-ending meteorite spreading and swallowing up everything around it. Everything within the entire area, including flower discs, stems, and vines were all swallowed.
When the fireball had dispersed, only two burnt Python Flower Quasi-Boss stems that were still burning were exposed.
On top of it was continuously emerging burning damage of over 500 points per second.
The total damage capacity of this fireball was definitely over 50,000, whereby the formation time was less than one second.
Ultimate moves of other Fire Manipulators with extremely long cooldown, with the single target damage of around 5000. This fireball, which could be thrown in a second, had super-high damage able to annihilate a Quasi-Boss flower disc at one go.
Looking at Red Queen, who was like a true Fire Energy ruler, inside the series of eye-opening Force skill fireballs like encircling meteorites.
Beside her, Neutron Star was going all-out in clearing the relentless Quasi-Boss vines charging over, Green Arrow was using the Recon Meter to find the position of every flower of the Quasi-Boss, White Crescent was continuously replenishing health; and Big Pineapple, Phoenix, and Zhao Yun who were also helping out; Feng Luo with his Ghost Weep was also in.
There was no more anxiety about whose hands the second Quasi-Boss Chip would land in.

Chapter 600: Phoenix's Blade: Exquisite Sun
"Bang!"
"-4567!"
A bullet flew out of the barrel of the Wings of Death, spanning nearly a hundred meters, clinging to the surface of the murky water and hitting a target.
A yellow damage coefficient showing near 5000 appeared, however, it was followed by an overwhelming amount of damage counters.
"Boom!"
A giant, two or three-meter-long, locust-like mollusk, rolled over and crashed into the mud, as it collapsed onto the muddy swamp with a huge bang.
You participated in the killing of Tyrannosaurus Earthworm (Level 60 Quasi-Boss). Contribution Portion: 1.5%. Experience Gained: 4500. Credit Points earned: 1.
"Such a pity…" Feng Luo brushed the system notice away from his field of view.
Feng Luo could only shake his head, as he felt disappointed upon missing the last hit on this Tyrannosaurus Earthworm Quasi-Boss.
Yes, this is a Tyrannosaurus Earthworm Quasi-Boss and not a Striped Saffron Quasi-Boss; since this was actually the third base, as they were no longer at the second base.
The results of the battle at the second base from more than an hour ago did not make much of a billow. With the help of her completed Legendary equipment and Force Elixirs, Red Queen managed to win the second Quasi-Boss Chip with a 10.2% contribution.
Feng Luo's 0.5% Contribution Portion, was reluctantly considered as moderate under the "close combat class," as he obtained a D-Grade crystal from the loot the Quasi-Boss dropped after dying.
Even though he was unable to change the terrible situation of his profession, it was true that the other players were not average for casual players. Many of them had Legendary equipment.
Of course, Red Queen getting this Quasi-Boss Chip attracted the attention of many players.
Particularly when she was discovered to be in the same team as Feng Luo, and both Quasi-Boss Chips were in the possession of players in the same party.
Some of the players in the guild camp were inevitably unhappy with this.
…
In the second base, after getting the elixir which would restrain the Striped Saffron's long-range attack capability by preventing its vines from being disgusted and unwilling to be approached by players, the team then utilized the time and moved forward the third base.
As for the monsters in the third base, it was the locust-like shaped mollusk that was in front of them. They grew within the swamp and the mud, but they were magnified a few hundred times, being able to grow two rows of disc-like teeth as their weapon, a mollusk was now able to swallow a huge portion of a player.
What was most disgusting was not its appearance, but one of its special attributes.
This monster's mind was super simple, it was so simple that it did not have a brain. This type of Tyrannosaurus Earthworm's anatomy did not have a brain or a heart, it only had some simple nerves and an excretory system.
The structure of this primitive creature may seem a bit backward, but it had a very perverted attribute.
This attribute was that its body did not have any fatal weak points, hence any attack on it would only deal out a yellow damage coefficient at most.
This was no doubt, a sniper's Achilles' heel, so to speak.
The biggest advantage that a sniper has above other professions was that it would be easier for them to hit a higher damage count from a fatal shot, as a single shot's damage would be far superior to a few bullets shot by a Scout.
However, this primitive creature, which has no weak spots or organs at all, has fundamentally limited the sniper's ability to output high damage.
"This will be another long-winded battle." Upon seeing the first of these creatures, Feng Luo could only shake his head.
The monsters in the two previous bases were disadvantageous for Snipers, and this rendered many speechless.
Those who were speechless were not only Snipers; those Warrior players were speechless as well. The area where the creatures were living was a piece of swamp that had all types of decomposition smells, and so the Warrior class players who were wearing armor had no way to enter the half-meter high swamp to fight.
On the contrary, these creatures, upon seeing the appearance of the players, started to form groups to spit "muddy spit" at the players.
Of course, that was what it was called. In reality, it was the disgusting mud from under the muddy swamp.
Within the disgusting mud, it fused with the sticky liquid from within the creature's body, which would solidify within a few seconds when it hits the player's body, causing the player to have difficulty moving.
In these situations, it was similar to the Petrifaction Skill from the Magic Online Games.
Once the players were incased and immobile from the mud, the enormous Tyrannosaurus Earthworm would then stretch its body out from hiding under the muddy water, and used its smelly mouth as an instrument to bite onto the upper body of the player, pulling them into the water.
If people thought that it was acceptable to be swallowed whole by those Striped Saffron flowers, then being swallowed by these extremely disgusting earthworms would be intolerable for them.
Feng Luo saw that White Crescent's ice glazed face became pale, looking the same as when she saw those strange blood-sucking grasshoppers.
However, the looks on Phoenix and Digital Cat did not have much change, as for people like them who had already experienced the Biohazard Crisis plot, the situation in front of them was nothing in comparison.
"Arnold, the target is in the direction of 15 degrees, attack in that direction." Digital Cat was standing behind Arnold, making him raise the four-barrel machine gun, pointing at the Tyrannosaurus Earthwork in the swamp and shooting large amounts of bullets.
"Click, click, click…"
The scalding shell fell into the water, causing a lot of white smoke to rise.
Upon encountering these monsters, the Snipers could not perform as well, but it was opposite for Machine Gunners.
That huge body area could allow all of the machine gun bullets to land, where none will miss, coupled with the Rare Quality machine gun, with a lengthened elastic chain even if the creature was Commander Grade, would be brought down to near-death.
In the end, the third Quasi-Boss Chip landed in the hands of a Machine Gunner, because he had a semi-finished Legendary Grade Destroyer machine gun in his hands. Throughout the battle, he had damaged nearly 20% of the health points of the Level 60 Quasi-Boss on his own.
"Thank god, I finally have a Commander Grade Quasi-Boss Chip. This was not a wasted trip." On the other side, Phoenix, carrying the red and clear alloy long sword, stood in front of a Commander-Level Tyrannosaurus Earthworm which was split into half by her, as she reached out towards the loot to pick up a pet chip which was radiating white light.
It was important to note that although it was extremely tiring for fighters to fight these types of creatures, Phoenix was far more superior compared to the rest because of the legendary equipment.
Exquisite Sun (Two-Handed Sword)
Grade: Legendary
Attack: 1000
Attack Quality Grade: B
Material Quality Grade: B
Strength: 50
Agility: 30
Life Force: 150
Additional attribute: 100% chance of directly breaking below B-Grade (not including B-Grade) defenses.
Additional skills: Fiery Sword: Basic skill consumed 50 Force points, formed a Force layer with a powerful destructive force on the sword, and equipped attacks with a certain amount of Fire-elemental damage, the Force layer could be expunged or kept.
Level required: 50
Comprehensive evaluation: Passed
1,000 damage, B-Grade destructive capability, and material; a total of 80 attribute points and an additional property.
This Legendary alloy sword was definitely more than twice as powerful as the same level of rare equipment.

Chapter 601: The Fourth Base
However, from judging a piece of Legendary equipment, the double-handed sword that Phoenix has gotten, its attributes and properties are very common.
The attack power reached 1000 points, a double-handed weapon of a close-combat class required sufficient conditions such as strength, speed, and angle in order to perform its attack at its limit.
Although the 80-point attribute bonus was not low, such points were just a mere pass for the main weapon.
As for additional skills, there was no effect until Phoenix awakened her Force. After all, it was not smart to waste a Life Force Elixir just to experience an additional property.
What Feng Luo felt was commendable was the rare property of this long sword: a 100% chance of destruction of below B-Grade defense.
It was important to note that, at this stage, it was near impossible for one to find B-Grade armor other than Legendary equipment and the Rare quality heavy shields for heavy fighters.
This meant that Phoenix could cut the other classes, or even players from the same class wearing light armor, in two with this sword, as if she were cutting fruits and vegetables. (Of course, because of the body of the players, this would not usually occur.)
This was also why even with full force, Neutron Star was unable to cut the vines earlier, and the reason why Pheonix was able to slice through it so easily.
As for why Phoenix still chose to exchange for such a weapon, which merely passed its standards, despite the many options from the Agent Equipment Wearhouse.
There was nothing more to talk about for this reason…
…
"How are the players from North City moving…"
After clearing the third research base on Lake Heart Island in the heart of the swamp and obtaining a powdered elixir that could reverse the effects of the temporal petrification by the Tyrannosaurus Earthworm, the team, after losing a few members, continued with their operations as they walked towards the fourth base.
In the small command group in the Nine-Star Guild, Zi Wei spoke to the player wearing the scientist glasses.
"According to the energy fluctuations from the second simulation biometric instrument, it should still be in the second base on their side of the island." That player was carrying an instrument with a map of the devil's triangle island with many different colored dots and very complicated data.
"They've only just reached the second base? Is this location accurate?" Zi Wei frowned slightly.
"I'm not entirely sure. The signal interference on this island is too severe and there may be some errors. Unfortunately, the monsters on this island are too aggressive, otherwise, only by sending someone to dive over or by sending flying pets to observe them from the skies, you can guarantee their location." The player wearing the scientist's glasses shook his head when he spoke.
"There's no need to do that yet. In terms of timing, they have no way to affect our clearing of the fourth base in front of us." Zi Wei seemed to be falling into deep thought. "You continue with what you're doing, report to me once there is news."
"Okay, Chairman Zi Wei." The player wearing the scientist's glasses said.
…
"Uncle Lin, what do you think?" As she parted ways from this player, Zi Wei turned to the Heavy Armor Warrior that was protecting her, as she asked him with a respectful tone.
"I'm not sure, but in theory, the difficulty of each base should not differ a lot, plus, their first three bases are a lot closer as compared to ours…" The Heavy Armor Warrior said as he opened his mouth under the mask, he had a slight old tone in his voice.
"You're saying…" A light flashed in front of Zi Wei's pair of eyes.
"There is always this possibility, we must make the necessary arrangements." The Heavy Armor Warrior with an older voice said.
"Well, yes, the question of treachery. Do you have a suspect?" Zi Wei nodded and asked.
"According to the course and performance of the battle, we roughly circled 13 people, of which 10 are scattered players, while three are from the guild itself." The old voice under the mask said.
"Amongst them, there is a person that might require more attention…" The heavy-armored soldier opened his personal terminal, where the pop-up screen showed the face of a Scout with a sneer on his face.
…
Half an hour later, sometime after midnight, the players from Storm City finally entered the fourth base, into a thick and condensed forest.
"Hopefully, this time, there won't be those weird monsters again." Black Panther, who had been silent throughout, suddenly uttered a sentence.
He had only obtained four pet chips in his first three bases, three of them were obtained from the first base with the toxic lizards.
The latter two types of creatures were over-restrictive for Snipers.
"Hopefully so." Feng Luo shook his head, his facial expression was not pleasant either.
Although he had gotten the first Quasi-Boss Chip, no one would complain if they got too many of such things, for the two types of creatures afterward, he really had no way to go about killing them.
"Click, click, click…"
"Heavy Armored Warriors, ready to cover. Scouts, test the attack…" By this time, there had been a burst of submachine gunfire and the sound of the line of a fire command.
"Have they encountered the creature?" Hearing the sound of this battle, the group of people sped up and walked towards the front, after a few seconds, their field of vision widened.
By this time, the dark forest which was restricting their vision had disappeared, in front of them was a small hill roughly 200-300 meters tall that was "bald" and had no vegetation on it.
The monster that was being attacked by the players was on that bald, rocky hill.
"Feng Luo, I am suspecting that the first Quasi-Boss Chip you obtained used up all of your good luck?" Big Pineapple looked down at Feng Luo strangely as he said that.
At that time, the creature that was battling the players was yet another creature, in theory, which was super disadvantageous for Snipers.
Rock Ball, Base Level: 50, a creature that had 10000 health points.
The oddly named creature had an appearance that looked like a spherical black rock which was more than a meter in diameter.
In addition to its ability to move, the surface of this monster's body was made from a defensive substance. There was no doubt that it was rock and was actually an extremely tough type of rock.
"Pop, pop, pop…"
"-29, -37,-32…"
When the Scouts from the Nine-Star Guild shot their bullets onto that rocky shell when they first discovered these targets, the bullets, which were slightly off in their angle, immediately flew off after creating some obvious sparks, creating damage counters which were not even reaching 50 points.
"Bang!"
"-235… -241…"
Only a few bullets, hit from a frontal angle close to ninety degrees and hitting a few cracks in the rocky shell, could cause damage counters above one-hundred.
This creature was only of a normal level. On the opposite hill, more than half were Elite level.
"The physical defense of these monsters is comparable to the sharks that you've come across before." Green Arrow dropped the empty submachine gun and frowned.
She had just cleared a full magazine, only to end up hitting the target for less than two thousand health points.
"Boom!"
"-690!"
A hot ball of energy flew past and hit the rock monster.
"It's not just physical defense, this thing also has a high elemental resistance." Red Queen said, throwing a fireball over, having possessed legendary equipment. In theory, the concentrated fireball should have caused 4000 damage, but in reality, it had only caused less than 700 in damage.
…
"Bang!"
"-934!"
"How can its defense be so ridiculous?" Feng Luo thought, knowing that it was not just him and his group.
Invikill and that Elementalist on the other side also frowned after they launched their attacks.
Invikill had a complete Legendary Sniper gun with B-Grade special bullets. In the end, a shot on the Elite-Grade creature, could not exceed 1000 in damage as well.
…
"The defense is so ridiculous, that's a good thing." On the other side, a certain Scout player revealed a sneer and joy instead of his face.
"This way, the fourth base can finally consume the reserve supplies of Storm City. At best, compared to the bases before, it would cause a lot more deaths. And by then…" His sights carried some vengeance, as he sneakily stared towards Feng Luo's position. "That Quasi-Boss Chip would be added to my collection of loot."

Chapter 602: Heavy Fire and Ice
"Rumble…"
The rolling stones on those smaller rocky hills started to have some movement after the consecutive attacks by the players.
One after the other, they vibrated until the point where their bodies and some colors started to separate and started to roll towards these players.
Initially, their rolling speed was slow, but after rolling to the bottom of the hill from the peak along the slope, the speed was not inferior to an off-road vehicle.
"Heavy Armor Warriors, prepare the technique to stay rooted! Fire Manipulators, fiery sea… Earth Manipulators, create a mud wall… Water Manipulators, channel an absolute zero hail spell. Take notice, please do not fully cast it first!" The Nine-Star Guild's Frontline Command took his position, as the line of fire command was loudly raised.
"Rumble, rumble…"
Under the night sky, those few hundred black rolling stones had accumulated until up to one or two meters, the Nine-Star Guild players need to adapt and defend quickly.
A muddy-yellow one-meter high energy wall was quickly raised in between the players and the opposite rocky hill area, the energy quickly reached more than 20 percent. Within each face of the wall, the flames with continuously spreading sparks, the burning flame was also one-meter tall.
The Muddy Wall Spell and the Fiery Sea Spell.
In mere seconds, the Nine-Star Guild players had created a piece of fortification in a hundred-meter radius around them.
"Rumble… Boom!"
Right after the fortification was complete, the first rolling stone had hit the first layer of the energy stone wall, where the enormous impact destroyed the muddy wall. As it was rolling at a speed comparable to an off-track vehicle, its area has dropped by a large margin. As it rolled into the fiery sea right after, the top of it started to have exponentially increased damage values appearing every few seconds.
"Ta, ta, ta…"
"Whoosh, whoosh whoosh…"
At the same time, the Machine Gunners and the Wind Manipulators were standing on a slightly higher position compared to the rest of the group.
As they were continuously attacking, the four A-50 Tiger-form machines which were brought with much effort were also shooting continuously.
However, as these creatures had sturdy rock as their surfaces, their defenses were a little too strong and the bullets would bounce off upon hitting their bodies, if the angle of impact were wrong, the damage would be close to zero, and the effect due to only hitting them after flying long distances would not develop additional effects like the burn.
Although the continuous area spells could cause a certain amount of damage, due to its excessive amounts of health points, it guaranteed them to be able to survive after this phase of fortification; especially when there were Elite level rolling stones that had health points exceeding 20,000.
"Rumble… boom… boom…"
After crashing and destroying all the energy mud walls and completely crossing the fiery area, these Elite level creatures' health points were still more than half of their original.
"Water Manipulators, following your respective areas, split up the attacks." However, just when they were crossing the fiery area, Frontline Command's voice had already rung out.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…"
In the next moment, the sky was painted red by the fires.
It started to pour large amounts of rain, and the temperature fell below zero. However, it did not form ice, as it was the absolute zero rain.
This Level 25 spell from the Water Manipulator, was initially used to create favorable combat environments under many situations, however, now that it is collectively cast, it has created effects which were out of people's expectations.
"Kacha, Kacha…"
The fresh breaking sounds accumulated, crossing hundreds of meters along the fiery area where its surface's temperature was so high that it became cooked. When the red golems encountered the freezing icy water, it resulted in the pieces of the golems started to form cracks. Some were even breaking apart straight down the middle, exposing a core that looked like a rock but had life moving in it.
"Rumble, rumble, rumble…"
Without its hard shell, even if it had more than 10,000 health points, under the attacks of the players, it was only a matter of time until it will be destroyed.
Especially when the core was struck, the attacks that hit would always cause critical damage.
"As expected, it was the grand guild for a reason. If it was a wild party, the situation would be a mess…" Phoenix complemented the guild.
"This is a super guild that is ranked top ten in the whole game." Feng Luo agreed.
Being able to think about this type of tactic in such a short time, the Nine-Star Guild, from its commanders to the players, displayed their capabilities.
…
In the first wave of nearly a hundred golems being eliminated as a group, the atmosphere of the whole team of players was relaxed by a huge margin.
With the Scouts' analysis, the creatures of the fourth base had a smaller population compared to the three bases before.
The previous golems made up more than half of the total number, and since they were able to eliminate this half, then for the remaining half left on the rocky hill only needed to use the same method to deal with them.
The only thing that many were still worried about, or more concerned with, was the Quasi-Boss in this base.
"Rumble…"
After this wave of golems been eliminated, the opposite rocky hill started to have some slight vibrations as the rocks and mud started to fall. At the same time, an invisible immense pressure swept through all of the players in an instant.
"High energy creature detected, high energy creature, responding…" Individual warning alarms started to ring, the Quasi-Boss from the fourth base appeared.
"Rumble!"
In the opposite middle portion of the hill, a black shadow the size of a small house appeared in the line of sights of the players.
Golem (Level 60, Quasi-Boss), Species number… HP: 6 million
After the Wings of Death did a scan, the Quasi-Boss' basic attributes were made known to Feng Luo. Being Level 60 was not too high, however with an HP of 6 million, for a local creature, it was extremely high, especially, when this creature had a sturdy defensive attribute.
"Rumble…"
When the players had not completely scanned the Quasi-Boss, it had started moving. Its body started to form large muddy-yellow energy beams around it. A golem was wrapped by these energies and quickly flew towards the sky.
"What is it doing?" In the hearts of many, they started to form a bad precaution.
"Rumble!"
In the next moment, they could only see the golem floating in the sky, as it had accelerated fiercely. Following that, it was like a cannonball, flying towards the players.
"F*ck, hide quickly!"
"Don't get crushed!"
Amongst the players, there was a huge panic, many Manipulators were stuffing armor on themselves hurriedly.
"Rumble!"
However, these measures were too late, these elite golems had crossed the 200-meter gap in less than a second and immediately landed the middle of the players' team.
With its large surface area, it rolled and bounced over a few more meters, crashing into a Manipulator who was unable to hide in time, along with his energy shield…
"Rumble!"
"-6789!"
…and the white light of death appeared.

Chapter 603: Self-Destruction
"Rumble, rumble…"
The enormous Quasi-Boss Golem on the small hill did not launch attacks on the players personally but instead used its earth energy to "throw" the remaining half of the normal golems.
From the point of view of the players, it looked like it was a sky where a bright moon hung, it was as if a few large black "moons" appeared after.
"Quick, Heavy Armored Warriors, block them! Earth Manipulators, ignore the front, place your attention on top… Water Manipulators, Fire Manipulators… split up in teams of two and attack!" Frontline Command commanded the players, despite the loudhailer, he was overwhelmed by the cries after being buried by the giant rocks.
That piece of hundred meter-long "fortification" had no meaning under these circumstances, as the rolling stones were flying directly from the sky.
Those giant rocks, which flew further than a meter with their weight measured in tons, had nothing that was capable to be able to intercept them in the sky.
Perhaps, the homing missiles in the machines were capable of doing so, but the machine's controller did not have such quick reaction timing.
Most importantly, the four machines did not have a lot of homing missiles. Being an expensive consumable, it was impossible for them to use on these common, Elite Level creatures.
It was a pity that despite Frontline Command's leadership being reliable and stable, the people who were able to adapt were not many.
One after the other, the Golems were thrown by the Quasi-Boss onto the player's base, leaving the original set-up formations destroyed and devastated. Due to the enormous power from these rolling stones, those who were hit directly needed to respawn, and even if they were not hit directly, they would lose half of their lives just by the slightest hit.
Only after a few seconds, the battleground already had quite a number of the white lights of death.
This scene made Feng Luo inevitably think back to the enormous rocks thrown by the catapults from the city defenders during the Ancient Siege, or even the solid bullet from the Hongyi Cannon. More accurately put, it was not a solid bullet, but a shotgun bullet.
Although the defensive formation was dispersed, the players still had their techniques, relying on the control spells by the Manipulators and the "Immovable Mountain" by the Heavy Armored Warriors defending with their shields. After paying a huge price, they were able to hold against these rolling enormous rocks, preventing them from continuously crushing people.
However, being unable to crush people, this did not mean that it was unable to continue to kill people after these rolling stones were blocked by the players or the environment and losing their mobility.
What came after, was something all the players were not able to imagine.
"Kacha!"
A piece of Level 55 Elite rolling stone was completely stopped and suddenly had a crack on its sturdy rocky surface, similar to those rocks which were crushed after passing through the heavy fire and ice. However, what was different was that within the cracks of these rocks, there was blurred yellow light revealing from within. Following that, there was an energy movement charging inside.
"No good, these rocky creatures are going to…" Before screams of the scouts of the team ended…
"Rumble, rumble, rumble!"
One after another, the enormous rolling stones landed into the bases of the players with ground-shaking impacts, as it followed its cracks and shattered into smaller pieces.
As for what was different from the previous impacted pieces, the shattered pieces from the automatic self-destruction had irregular sizes of shattered pieces, however, they were all sturdy pieces. Additionally, under the power of the fierce self-explosion, it launched those pieces towards the surrounding players with speed comparable to bullets.
"Platter, platter, platter…"
Pieces with sizes ranging from as small as a fist till as large as a human head impacted the players who were unable to hide in time.
In an instant, there were a few more white lights of death appearing on the battleground.
Even for those Heavy Armor Warriors wearing equipment which boosts their health points, if they were in the parameters of several small pieces of the self-destructing golems towards them, their health points will collapse in an instant as well.
In the first three bases, Storm City's death count did not exceed 30. However, at the fourth base, in the period of a few minutes, the death count was nearing this number.
Most importantly, with the self-destruction and the constant rolling stones being thrown from the Quasi-Boss repeatedly, the player's formation has been completely devastated to the point of regeneration, they could only work in their respective smaller teams as the formation.
"Pui… Pui…"
"What is this? They actually self-destruct?" Big Pineapple said with a dull face as he spat out the mud which came from a self-destructed golem nearby.
Even with his defense attribute, with his shield blocking the self-destruction by this Level 60 Elite Level Golem, his life points still dropped by around 4000.
In this game with these explosive types of attacks, as it is a little rogue, its common power is still greater than the strongest moves by creatures with similar levels. Like the self-destructing beetle that should not be looked down on it having any other attacking moves apart from its self-destruction power, as it is able to destroy creatures of similar levels.
However, with Big Pineapple blocking at the front, their small team was not reduced at all from this explosion.
It was only when…
"Quick, hinder it! Everyone, be careful, focus on dodging!" Frontline Command's originally calm voice suddenly became hurried, even the two commands that he gave were very contradicting.
Although many teams were relying on their fighter class to block the separate self-destructions from the common golems, on the opposite hill the Quasi-Boss which was throwing his subordinates was starting to roll.
"What the f*ck!" Not only Frontline Commander, but all other players' faces changed.
Forget about all these Common and Elite Level Golems self-destructing, self-destruction by the Level 60 Quasi-Boss that, in theory, would not be inferior compared to a real Boss' area ultimate.
However, at this moment, you can tell the real personalities of the players participating in this wastelands.
Although some were hurried, they were not panicking to the point that they were mindless. Even under the circumstances of having the threat of the Common Golem's impact and self-destruction, many Manipulators did not regard the danger that they were in and still created the fortifications against the Quasi-Boss in the front.
"Rumble, rumble…"
The energy mud walls started to rise from beneath the hill, as there was fiery energy starting to ablaze.
Other than that, additional bullets and spells were cast towards the Quasi-Boss' body.
"Whoosh, whoosh…"
"Bang, bang, bang…"
"-334, -346…"
"-12, -33, -104…"
The sky filled with spells caused the night sky to be colored with several colors. However, the damage done upon the hits, against the 6 million health points of the Quasi-Boss, did not have much meaning.
The Quasi-Boss' physical defense and elemental resistance were definitely more disgusting than its' subordinates. Before breaking his first layer which was lined up with super thick stones, there was no way to inflict any damage.
The only hope was the fortification raised at that hundred-meter area at the base of the hill.
Even if this Quasi-Boss was so strong in its defenses, its body was still made out of rocks, which meant that a series of heavy fire and ice would be able to weaken it a little, right?

Chapter 604: Super Unexpected Situation
On the base of the hill that was a hundred meters away, there were a few two-meter-tall mud walls forming into shape, as it was on guard for what was going to come.
If it wasn't for the Earth Manipulators having the shortest range amongst all the Manipulators, where this Mud Wall spell was unable to be cast from a range exceeding 150 meters away, the best choice was to place some at the mountainside position. That way, the Quasi-Boss' speed would not be able to increase.
However, with so many mud walls, there is only a Quasi-Boss as a rolling stone on the other side.
Most of the people must be thinking that these walls must still have some use. After all, these mud walls were created by the most Elite of players.
"Rumble!"
The Quasi-Boss had reached the base of the hill. As it went down the final slope, its speed accelerated as it was nearing the most frontal mud wall.
"Rumble!"
On the side of the players, the last Common Golem had chosen to self-destruct as well, as it shot off a wave of shattered rocks in four directions.
However, under the condition of sufficient preparation, this delayed Common Golem did not cause much harm, as it only caused the death of a few players.
Right now, the Quasi-Boss' only goal was to knock into the mud wall, as it rolled closer and closer to the mud fortification.
"Boom!"
Under the attacks and the focus of all of the players, the obsidian body of the Quasi-Boss, that was the size similar to a small house, knocked into the first energy mud wall.
What was worth mentioning was, that the color of the first mud wall was very dark, this represented the expertise of the spell caster, as the toughness of the mud wall must have been very high.
Because of this, the players' confidence level was greatly enhanced, as their faces were filled with high expectations.
"Hum!"
The first layer of the mud wall did not let down the spectators.
The Quasi-Boss Golem, with its accelerated speed from its rolling all the way down from the mountainside struck the first layer of this energy mud wall. Although the color of the mud wall became a lot duller, it did not shatter, instead, it stood very firmly right in the same spot. This layer of mud wall did not get destroyed by the Quasi-Boss monster.
This situation definitely made people feel very surprised, as the weight of the Quasi-Boss is definitely above hundreds of tons. Adding the high speed of its impact, it surprisingly did not destroy a wall that was formed by energy.
"Wow f*ck!"
"What is this situation?"
Although the energy wall was not broken, the players' faces did not show any joy but instead shock and fear. Especially Frontline Commander, who was in charge of commanding, as his face turned green.
The players reacted this way because, although the energy wall did not break, the Quasi-Boss was still not blocked.
As it was blocked by this strong wall, the Quasi-Boss monster with its high rolling speed was like a galloping bowling ball that was stung slightly by a small rock. As a result, it naturally…
"Shoot!" Behind Big Pineapple, Zhao Yun was a little stunned.
Zhao Yun suddenly placed his energy converter down, as he quickly looked around his surroundings. After discovering that no one noticed him, he let out a huge breath.
At this moment, of course, no one was going to notice.
Who was so powerful to create such an energy wall that was unbreakable even by a Quasi-Boss.
Since the Quasi-Boss, under its accelerated form, had already flown over a hundred meters through the sky, crossing over all the fortifications, and carrying an enormous black shadow as it landed, shrouding several players within.
"Rumble, rumble, rumble…"
A few more familiar white lights of death appeared.
Feng Luo could confirm that although these dead players, with their equipment, were crushed by the falling Golem which weighed almost a hundred tons, before getting kicked out of the game, they must have sworn really loudly.
However, the players who are still alive must not have any thoughts of scolding other people.
After crushing a huge number of people, the Quasi-Boss continued to roll into the backlines of the players' squad.
As it continued to roll, large amounts of yellow cracks started to become visible on its body. Gorgeously, the Quasi-Boss, after falling from the sky, self-destructed.
"Rumble!"
One section of muddy yellow energy swept a twenty-meter parameter around it, as it carried a taste of destruction.
The gunners were blown away with their guns, as they were scattered like the dead leaves rolled up by a blizzard.
The energy shields of the Manipulators, under this amounts of pressure, could only hold for some milliseconds before shattering, as they followed the gunners into their graves.
Only the fighter class, could hold for a few more milliseconds, but their endings were not much different than that of the gunners and Manipulators.
Following the Quasi-Boss' self-destruction, as it was over a hundred tons, shattered pieces with sizes ranging from a human head to some with areas over two-meters shot in all directions like cannonballs.
Afterward, a few more white lights of death shone.
"It was so close… finally…" At the frontal commanding position of the battlefield, Qing Kong, who was almost smashed by a falling boulder into minced meat, could not help but wipe the cold sweat from his forehead.
"Vice-Director, these losses are a little too detrimental, I'm afraid it might affect the following operations…" He looked to Zi Wei, who was by his side, with a devastated face. She was frowning as well.
In the fourth research base, their party had been reduced by over 50 people, this was more than the accumulated count of the previous three bases, and had definitely exceeded the Nine-Star Guild's predictions.
Especially considering that this island not only had creatures, but also the people from North City.
"Actually, these had been calculated, I originally thought that this Quasi-Boss' self-destruction power was even stronger…" Frontline Commander's tone was actually a little more celebrative.
Although the Quasi-Boss' destruction power was very strong, the real danger zone was only within that 20-meter radius.
This was because when the energy waves were appearing on the Quasi-Boss' body, all of the players that were already expending all of their efforts to run away from its position, which led to the number of people still being in that area of effect decreasing. The remaining people who died were due to the scattering shattered gigantic rocks that hit them as they were running away.
With the power of the Quasi-Boss' strong self-destruction, these gigantic shattered pieces flew distances exceeding 100 meters, some even reached up to 200 or 300 meters. Once it hit, those players who were at moderate health points resulting from the previous attacks would be easily killed in an instant.
Even at Feng Luo's position, there was a human head-sized rock which was fiercely thrown over.
However, he was still alright, because, compared to those people who were hit by the Golems while running with their backs to the explosion, Feng Luo was facing the direction where the rocks were flying from and was able to react in time and dodge the rocks.
However, this was due to the self-destruction power of the Quasi-Boss not being as strong as the Boss' global range attacks, resulting in many people being able to react in time.
"Alas, it was finally concluded!"
"Did Quasi-Boss Pet Chip fall out? Whose contribution rate was the highest?"
Because of the Quai-Boss' self-destruction, it had raised huge pieces of mud and sand. In that short period of time, the players were unable to see the situation at the core of the explosion.
However, what everyone was most concerned with, was naturally this matter.
"Hm, wait… Contribution Portion? The system did not like to provide the Contribution Portion?"
"How can this be? Wait… it can't be!"

Chapter 605: "Dead and Revived" Quasi-BOSS
"Boom, boom…"
The self-destructed rock fragments within a 100-meter range suddenly vibrated vigorously.
The surface of the rocks of varying sizes started to turn yellow, rapidly rolling towards some spot, even flying. Even the remaining rock fragments from the self-destructed rocks on the ground agglomerated towards one spot.
"What's going on?"
"Something's not right, the Quasi-Boss isn't dead!"
The system had not given the message that the Quasi-Boss had been killed, that itself was proof, it was only that many people had not noticed.
Since the Quasi-Boss had self-destructed; in the minds of these high-level players who had killed many Bosses before, they clearly knew that a Boss self-destructing was equivalent to it awaiting its death.
They didn't think that this Quasi-Boss could still be alive after self-destructing.
In addition, large amounts of soil were sent around the center of the explosion, resulting in the players being unable to see clearly initially if prizes had been produced, thus overlooking an obvious loophole.
"Bazoom!"
The giant rocks that were all over the ground, under the "guidance" of the khaki-colored energy, retreated back to the center and rapidly reconstructed.
Just like an explosion scene in reverse, in just five seconds, the Quasi-Boss rock ball had reappeared on the battlefield.
"Crap, it can explode and can be constructed, how do we fight it?" There were already people who could not help but exclaim.
"Don't panic, it's not that there's no price for its self-destruction! Its health is just over 40,000 and it has no sign of fast recovery! Technically, at most, it can self-destruct another four or five times before it'd have no more ability to self-destruct!" Upon scanning the Quasi-Boss that had finished reconstructing, with his Legendary-Grade Recon Meter, Jing Kong looked like there was new information he received as he quickly yelled through Frontline Command's loudspeaker beside him.
Most Boss-Grade creatures had the ability of fast health recovery. However, this Quasi-Boss did not, and rather, the self-destruction would consume its health.
Letting it self-destruct and explode itself to death seemed like a feasible way.
The question was if they really let it continue to self-destruct, how large would the team's loss be?
As a Level 60 Quasi-Boss, the methods of this Quasi-Boss were very simple and straightforward – no unbreakable Energy Force Fields, no long-range attack skills of typical Quasi-Bosses either…
However, this reckless self-destruction was just enough to cause huge bonus damage.
It was okay for normal monsters to self-destruct, but did this Quasi-Boss have self-destruction as its regular attack method? If such an explosion just now was to be done several more times, the reclamation team members would probably be reduced to a third soon.
"Close-combat, stop advancing! Everyone, summon your pets, use big-sized pets to push forward!" Frontline Command's voice sounded once again, his voice had regained composure this time.
"This is a good plan?"
"Didn't think of it!"
Hearing this, many players were shocked.
On the battlefield, the white lights of summoned pets appeared in an instant.
In such a situation, letting some pets hinder this Quasi-Boss and divert its attention, and with the players not going close, the loss would not be too unbearable when it self-destructed.
Although pets would lose Loyalty upon death and would require money to be revived, the price was still acceptable compared with players dying and losing their chance at high-quality loot, such as the Quasi-Boss Pet Chip.
Moreover, there was another thing, the Contribution of pets would be counted as the player's Contribution.
Letting pets attack, they could earn a certain Contribution once the Quasi-Boss really died, and fight for the fourth Quasi-Boss Chip from there.
"Contribution…" Feng Luo thought hard.
He had just used his Wings of Death and had continuously fired over 10 shots at the Quasi-Boss.
He had to admit that the defense of this Quasi-Boss covered with rock, that nobody knew how thick, was really pretty rad.
With the Wings of Death together with B-Grade armor-piercing bullets, there was still no way of causing much destruction to the Quasi-Boss's defense. The multiple shots only barely caused more than over 5000 damage, when a few of which were critical hits.
With such an output, he had no grasp in securing the number one Contribution.
"Tap in on our pets?" Whether or not to tap on his beetles, Feng Luo was a little hesitant.
To really use pets to engage in such a battle tactic of competing for Contribution, others could not match up to him if he were to compete.
Not to mention the loss to the beetle troops with the mass massacring of the Quasi-Boss's self-destruction.
The most important reason why he had not chosen to summon his beetle troops to aid in the battle was that normal beetle troops were seen as "wild beasts" in the eyes of players.
In such a situation where there was mass battling everywhere, where it was impossible to tell all the players that the beetles were controlled, his beetle troops would very likely be mistakenly wiped out in the battle by his own teammates if he were to summon them out.
"But it's not that there's no way at all to use them either…" Feng Luo had made a decision. Holding his sniper rifle, he quickly ran up the jungle close by, towards a higher position.
In this process, he had pressed the button on his Pet Bracer.
With a flash of white light, as 24K appeared flapping its wings, the black wormhole had immediately appeared as well.
A Scout Beetle, which looked no different from normal Scout Beetles, came out.
After this, some shapeless force radiated from its body, covering a range of over 10 meters surrounding it.
After, 100 Energy Beetles flew out from the wormhole, rapidly forming a transparent Energy Forcefield in front of Feng Luo.
In typical situations with 100 "wild beasts" appearing, the present Scout player's Recon Meters would have become an area of dense yellow color.
However, at that moment, even on Jing Kong's Legendary-Grade Recon Meter, without any Detection engaged or any equipment included skill, no message appeared.
All of this was because of the Scout Beetle which looked no different from normal Scout Beetles above Feng Luo's head.
Other than having the greater camouflaging ability, Commander-Grade Scout Beetles, compared to Elite-Grade Scout Beetles, were truly great at being able to disrupt and shield against the detection capability of Recon Meters towards a specific target within a certain range.
"Bazoom!"
In the process of Feng Luo summoning the beetles, the Quasi-Boss at the center of the battlefield had engaged in the second self-destruction.
This time, over 20 streaks of white light had appeared as a result.
This time, however, most of the deaths were those of close-combat big-sized pets.
Only two unfortunate low-health players were directly smashed by the huge rocks being sent flying by the explosion in the outer circle. Upon their deaths, they left behind the Pet Chips, crystals, and equipment they picked up from the previous three ruins.
This fourth base was a huge loss to the team, but to the surviving players, they had some benefit.
Everything picked up by the dead players would be produced, and there would also be some bonus Rare and even Legendary items added; if they had no teammates, then it would be letting others have it easy.

Chapter 606: Slaying the Rock Quasi-Boss
"Boom!"
On the battlefield, through the second self-destruction, the Quasi-Boss had killed over 20 pets.
Before it died, all the Scout players rapidly threw their Detection skills at the center of the self-destruction, grasping tightly onto their submachine guns.
Since the Quasi-Boss did not die from its second self-destruction, then it would still have its core existing just like those normal rock ball monsters.
One just had to find it and then attack it and one would definitely be able to inflict explosive damage, at the same time greatly increase one's Contribution.
"Where on Earth is it?" Besides the Scouts, the Energy Manipulators were also finding energy waves using their Converters.
Regardless of whether this Quasi-Boss self-destructed or reconstructed, it still relied on Earth Energy – its core should radiate strong energy waves. Although there was serious disruption on the island, one would still be able to find the waves if the distance was very close very easily.
As for the tortured Warrior players, they could only rely on their naked eyes to observe the rocks, playing a "find-the-difference" game between all of them.
Just when all the players were either using instruments or distinguishing with the naked eye, Feng Luo who had switched to the Commander Scout Beetle's vision had locked onto the target in an instant – a "rock shard" seemingly no bigger than the size of a human head.
This was indeed a rock shard; its appearance was not much different from a normal rock shard.
However, its position was not at the center where the self-destruction took place at all where the players were throwing their skills, but in the middle of the 10 guild players who had flown close to 100 meters away from the self-destruction just now.
Being only a rock, this Quasi-Boss actually knew how to troll?
"Ping, ding!"
Without any hesitation, the moment he noticed the target, the muzzle of Feng Luo's Wings of Death turned swiftly over.
A scorching armor-piercing bullet was fired, and right after, a "locked-on tag" was thrown onto the Quasi-Boss's core.
"-5067!"
Yellow weak-point damage of over 5000 appeared; although the Quasi-Boss was not busted apart by his shot, this damage was more than 10 times over than previous attacks.
"So it's here!" Feng Luos shot suddenly and pointed out the direction to the others.
The 10 players in the outer circle were especially shocked and delighted.
Delighted that the Quasi-Boss core was just behind them, and shocked that after Feng Luo's one shot, the Quasi-Boss was already shining a yellow light.
When the group of players, that was waiting to attack once the Scout players of the team had found the target, realized that the Quasi-Boss was actually behind them, countless giant rocks were already tossed towards the center.
"Rumble…"
Other than three Warrior players who had escaped, the other seven people were all being hit by the quickly closing rocks, then they were either knocked to the ground and could not flee for a moment, or were brought along flying towards the Quasi-Boss's core in the center.
The reconstructed rock fragments also blocked the attacks of the other players following Feng Luo.
"Boom!"
After seven flashes of white light, a loud noise sounded again; this time, the result of the explosion was a gigantic rock with bloodstains and three flashes of the white light of death.
With another 10 people dead, counting yesterday's battle, the number of deaths on this mission was already beyond 150 people.
This number showed that they could not have any more deaths.
After this third self-destruction by the Quasi-Boss, everyone was a little worrisome.
As at that moment, even the Scouts did not know just in which direction should they point their Detection.
"Ping!"
"-5034!"
A gunshot of the Wings of Death sounded once again two seconds later, accurately hitting a "red dot" locked on at the edge of the battlefield.
With the Wings of Death together with two B-Grade armor-piercing bullets, even if it was a Quasi-Boss core, a huge part was sliced off.
"Weng!"
Detecting danger, the Quasi-Boss's speed of reconstruction was faster this time than before; the surrounding rock fragments that had initially burst apart due to the explosion started to vibrate vigorously.
"Auto mode, Rapid Shooting!"
"Ping!"
"-16246!"
With Feng Luo changing the firing mode and engaging a skill, the Wings of Death in his hands sounded another shot in less than a second.
Upon hitting the spot locked on by the red dot, which had been almost completely stripped of its defense from before, this shot had officially inflicted lethal damage.
Furthermore, it was a golden explosive attack with a lethal red glow.
The rocks that were initially vibrating and those that were even flying towards the center suddenly stopped.
The lethal damage broke the Quasi-Boss's skill.
This Quasi-Boss regathering its rocks after self-destructing was reliant on Energy for completion – this was considered a skill, of course, it was of a category that was breakable.
"Ping…"
Feng Luo's expression was heartless as his finger pressed down on the trigger, and the Wings of Death fired another bullet.
"Bazoom…"
"Sou sou…"
"Dadada…"
However, at the same time, all sorts of attacks were fired towards the Quasi-Boss core as well. There were at least over 10 sniper rifle bullets, up to 100 skills, and up to 1000 submachine gun and machine-gun bullets.
With a Quasi-Boss that had finally had its position exposed and had its reconstruction broken, everyone understood that they could not let it continue on.
At the same time, everyone understood as well that this was the key, not only to compete for Contribution, but also for competing for the fourth Quasi-Boss Chip.
"HP: 183,000… 152,000… 111,000…"
The sniper scope vision, that was automatically filtered, accurately monitored the changes of the Quasi-Boss's HP through the multiple types of Energy colors all over the place. Feng Luo's finger hooked on the trigger, firing the fifth bullet of this round.
"Ping!"
"-8056!"
Another shot of lethal damage reduced the Quasi-Boss's health below 10,000.
"Weng!"
But just then, the outside of the Quasi-Boss's core, which was already hit by all sorts of attacks and was almost completely shattered, suddenly had a layer of khaki-colored Energy.
The players' attacks were violently deflected when hitting it.
"Weng!"
In the next moment, the rock fragments and giant rocks which were initially unmoving gathered towards the center once more.
This Quasi-Boss had the ability to retaliate?
Technically, this should have been the last struggle.
Seeing from the health it had consumed for self-destruction, this less than 10,000 of health could only afford one more self-destruction.
Even if it did not choose to self-destruct, it would not matter because with the passion of the players present, even if it were to shrink into its shell once again, its current health would at most last for only half a minute.
As for escaping? There was similarly not much of a chance.
"Boom!"
However, it was clear that the Quasi-Boss had still rather chosen to die gloriously by reconstructing its body and exploding violently once more.
That was in contrast to before, whereby the Energy ball was much dimmer and when it had flying rock fragments – it now looked like an announcement of the end of the life of a Quasi-Boss creature.
"Something's not right!"
"There's still no message!"
Some players who had shown joy on their faces quickly thought of something and reminded themselves.
"No way, don't tell me there's still no change!"
To the others, there was no change.
Technically, the one who should be most hated by this Quasi-Boss was Feng Luo.
After the last self-destruction had happened, a stone with a diameter of around half a meter violently cut the air as it was shot towards Feng Luo's position.
Through the scope vision, it still had a red dot on it that was from being locked on as a target
"Thud!"
However, this stone bomb with the Quasi-Boss core in it seemed like it had hit something as it stopped suddenly one meter in front of Feng Luo, after which it was deflected.
It had knocked into something; in the air in front of Feng Luo, 100 Energy Beetles were formed into a transparent shield, completely blocking him.
Other than defense, the shields of the Energy Beetles were also able to deflect long-range attacks.
Being heavily deflected back, the remaining less than 1% health of the Quasi-Boss core and the last stone was separated in the air.
"Ping!"
Right after, a 14.5MM large-caliber B-Grade sniper bullet reduced the Quasi-Boss, which completely had no defense power and was like a pangolin being shaved of its scales and skin, into a sky full of dancing XP and prizes.
["You have killed Rock Ball (Level 60 Quasi-Boss), kill Contribution 15.5%, XP earned: 3100, Merit earned: 4."]

Chapter 607: Hands on the Second Chip
"It's killed!"
"It's really dead this time!"
The moment the Rock Ball Quasi-Boss was slain by the bullet, a system message finally appeared in the visions of the players participating in the battle.
This Level 60 Quasi-Boss that had caused the deaths of over 50 participating players and a huge number of pets had finally been eliminated.
Undoubtedly, this was a battle with the biggest loss for the players so far on the island, even surpassing the Hypertoxic Lizard Quasi-Boss of an even higher level at the first base.
"What about the Contribution?"
"Who's the highest this time?"
Right after, everyone's focus was naturally on the Pet Chip produced among the huge pile of prizes after the death of the Quasi-Boss, which could only be taken away by the player ranking first in Contribution.
This time, there was no one who actively went to pick it up.
The Scout player was dark-faced this time as he stood in a shadowy corner in the jungle with his few teammates.
"I have 0.3… I have no chance."
"I have 0.9…"
"Mine is 1.8%…is there a possibility for a bit of chance?"
Some players began to light up their Contribution, but Contributions below 1% did not have much of a chance.
"You have no chance, mine is 1.9%." Another player laughed as he lit up his own Contribution as well.
The battle this time of surround-attacking the Quasi-Boss was different from the first base.
Previously for the Quasi-Boss at the first base, there were a huge number of small monsters as well.
As such, only over 100 people contributed to the output, hence on average, Contribution was only about 0.5%.
When this Quasi-Boss "flew" over, the other small monsters had already been cleared away by the self-explosion.
Therefore, almost everyone joined in attacking it or defending against it. The Contribution was differentiated even more precisely – in such a situation, being able to achieve a 2% Contribution, one would have the chance to be number one.
"Ha, I have 3.8%, anyone higher than me?" The Nine Star Guild Fire Manipulator said, smiling delightedly.
This time, as he had previously thrown a recce skill and it happened to have hit the Quasi-Boss that was still in a latent state, and so he had secured the "first attack" bonus.
Therefore, this Contribution of close to 4% definitely had very high hope. As such, he was already growing happier.
However, Invikill standing right beside him did not congratulate his teammate, but rather gazed towards a certain direction.
Accurately speaking, he was gazing at a person – holding onto the Wings of Death and walking towards the direction of the equipment produced from the Quasi-Boss from his shooting position – Feng Luo.
In this battle, with the Boss's continuous self-destruction and the pebbles and dirt sent flying, the battlefield was far more chaotic than before.
Under such a situation, there were only a few people who had noticed Feng Luo's movement.
However, this action by Invikill seemed like he had been taking note of Feng Luo throughout the battle?
"15.5%." Walking to a spot not far away from where the Quasi-Boss had collapsed, Feng Luo lit up his Contribution and the surrounding players who had circled him said.
"15.5%, no way, how's it so high?"
"15.5%, who is it? I didn't see it wrong, did I?"
However, as he was surrounded, it was impossible that everyone had seen him.
Hence, more people from further outside were shocked and doubtful upon hearing the number, or was it disbelief?
Although the coefficient was so eye-catching, in truth, considering the fact that the numbers were thinned by splitting among the number of people, the 15% of this fourth base was not much lesser than that 25% at the first base.
This meant that it was similarly a situation of one person's power matching up to the Contribution of tens of top players.
"It's him?"
"So it's him?"
"Him again!"
Once they saw it was Feng Luo who had walked to the prizes produced by the Quasi-Boss to pick up the Chip, many people were astonished.
At the first base, Feng Luo had never shown himself before, let alone the fact that it was impossible for everyone to so quickly forgot about him from the breaking news of his Force Awakening.
"Something's stirring, two Chips landing in the hands of one person!"
"Just now at the second and third bases, I remember that someone had said something like 'Force Awakening was nothing much to be proud of, one still has to have some luck to be able to snatch the Chip?' What about now, feels like some self-burning!"
"Mister Feng, congratulations again." After Feng Luo had picked up the Chip and walked back to his post, Red Queen smiled and congratulated him.
Until now, only four Chips had been produced in total, but Feng Luo had gotten two, and Red Queen got one as well. It could be said that their small team had earned it big in this reclamation, dominating both casual and guild teams.
Of course, seeing Red Queen, many people recalled that this was the gainer of the Chip from the previous second base, and so, naturally, they gossiped.
"A small team actually getting three Chips, just what kind of background are these people from?"
"Feels like all the big guilds might be collectively shamed…"
"Old Feng, what a pity that you're not a star player, I dare say for sure that once this reclamation ends, your popularity would definitely surpass mine…and even surpass Invikill now." Zhao Yun spoke as his eyes motioned towards a direction.
"Also awakened his Force, also a Sniper… although this doesn't count as a showdown, why do I feel that Invikill seems to be largely on the lower hand?"
"In this whole process, did he not show enough controlling power? Or any stunning performance…"
It was not just Zhao Yun who once again compared Feng Luo and Invikill.
Actually, because of the two shared labels of "Force Awakening" and "Sniper," anyone would naturally associate the two of them together.
Just looking at it from the performance of the two thus far, the conclusion was rather obvious.
"Being able to obtain number one in Contribution requires the fulfillment of many aspects, it's not strange to have the ability but no luck. Moreover, this Sniper known as Feng Zhi Luo Ye's Force attribute is probably an attack-type, securing an advantage in this area."
"But to top players, being good at farming monsters does not have any practical meaning, PK ability is the true evaluation standard. God Invikill has the Invisibility Force attribute; it will be time for the true performance when he battles the North City people…"
As the "number one Sniper" whose popularity was already roughly comparable to Sword Ki Long River, he still had admirers among such players who were all top experts gathered together.
As such, there were also people who rebutted.
"Hmph, actually letting him get a Chip!"
Compared with most of the players, the Scout player who had caused conflict before looked disgusted and dissatisfied as he stared towards Feng Luo. "F*ck, but this way is fine too. Until then, let the North City people kill him and the two Chips will be released…"
Thereafter, his face turned into a smug smirk as he spoke softly to the few teammates by his side.
He did not notice a player in a full set of heavy armor over 20 meters away, whose aged but sharp eyes beneath his mask seemingly very inadvertently swept across the direction they were in.

Chapter 608: Scout Beetle Contributes
"The haul this time isn't that bad."
"Although the number of these Rock Balls isn't high, the loot is great. The drop rate of Chips is a lot higher than the previous monsters."
"That's right. Most importantly, these Rock Balls' base level is only Level-50. A lot of those items that they drop can be used immediately."
The players were gathering their battle loot on the ground in front of the fourth base.
As for the players of the Nine Star Guild, apart from a few of them staying behind to clear the area, the rest of them had started moving towards the abandoned research base on top of the rock hill. The base was attached to and built within the mountain.
Feng Luo, who had just obtained his second Quasi-Boss pet biochip, was standing behind Big Pineapple and a few others who were picking up battle loot. His eyes had turned into a void.
In the sky high above everyone, a fingernail-sized Scout Beetle that was almost undetectable by the naked eye was flying quickly towards the fifth base.
The fifth base was the closer of the two bases that were on the third side of the island. The base was located close to the sea and its straight-line distance to the players' current location was around one kilometer.
For most players, a night environment was a huge obstacle. Even night vision goggles could not pick up many things due to the game world's uniqueness.
However, for the Scout Beetle's vision, there was not much of a difference between night and day.
After switching to the Scout Beetle's vision, which was located over a hundred meters above the ground in the night sky, Feng Luo was able to see the overall situation of the island in an instant.
Of course, it was only generally speaking.
The Scout Beetle's vision was very strong and it was even capable of easily detecting all sorts of energy and life force fluctuation within a certain range without being affected by the night environment. It still cannot detect fluctuations far away. Besides, due to a severe disturbance on the island, the perception range is even smaller.
However, the Scout Beetles had a weakness, and it was that its vision could not zoom in or out like a sniping scope.
This limited Feng Luo's ability to use it to obtain information about the target. He would need to get the Scout Beetle closer to the target before being able to do so.
The good thing was that, as an Elite Grade Scout Beetle with amazing camouflage skills flying in a sky without any obstacles, it did not have to worry about being attacked.
After the Nine Star Guild players opened the locked the fourth base's tunnel, the Scout Beetle was already within the range of the fifth base.
Feng Luo, who did not give it much thought but decided to use the Scout Beetle to scout the fifth base in advance due to some factors, suddenly frowned.
The reasons for the frown were – one, an unexpected situation was currently unfolding at the fifth base; the second was due to something that he saw through the Scout Beetle's vision on the sea. There were a few weaponized ships with people moving on them.
"Why are there ships over on this side?" Feng Luo wondered in his mind while being surprised at the same time.
Ships were floating on the surface of the sea. It wasn't just one or two ships, there were five medium-sized ships.
"Could it be that the people from North City had chosen not to disembark on the other side but instead disembark here?" Feng Luo thought. However, he immediately rejected that notion.
This expedition garnered a lot of attention. As such, most of the information about the two rival cities' expedition was already exposed on the forum. The luxurious weaponized cruiser ship of North City, which was even larger than their military ship, was not like these kinds of medium-sized weaponized ships. Moreover, there weren't so many of them.
"Let's fly over there to check it out." Through 24K, Feng Luo instructed this Elite Grade Scout Beetle to accelerate and fly towards the military ships.
…
After a few minutes, in a corner of the research area of the fourth base.
"Mr. Feng? Is something wrong? Oh, that's right, I have not yet congratulated Mr. Feng for getting yet another Quasi-Boss biochip," Zi Wei said to Feng Luo with a smile after giving her report.
Feng Luo looked directly at Zi Wei and asked, "Are we and North City the only teams participating in this mission?"
Zi Wei seemed distracted for a moment and answered, "That's right. Mr. Feng, why are you asking this, may I ask?"
"The people from North City should have disembarked on the island on our right side. And the final side where the fifth base is located, it should be empty, right?" Feng Luo pressed on with his questioning.
Zi Wei nodded and said, "Yes, that's right. They are the same as us. With the mission's constraints, they should have disembarked and begun their journey from that side."
Then, Feng Luo disclosed something that surprised Zi Wei. "But now… The final side that should be empty has shipped; moreover, there are a few of them."
Zi Wei's smile disappeared and her face became very serious. "Mr. Feng, you're not joking, are you?"
She did not ask how Feng Luo knew about the situation on the sea which was further away from the fifth base which was one kilometer away. However, Feng Luo's intel caught her completely by surprise. Or perhaps it was more accurate to say that it had caught all of Nine Star Guild's upper management by surprise.
"I'm not joking," Feng Luo said and shook his head. "Also, the fifth base has been cleared. Moreover… some of the monsters around that research base are being controlled by someone and they are all moving towards the sixth base."
"Controlling monsters? Mr. Feng, you mean to say that the people disembarking on the third side of the island are the Rebel Army?" Zi Wei perceptively caught on to Feng Luo's words.
"Yes. The Rebel Army. Not only are there NPCs, but there are also a few players too," Feng Luo said and nodded.
"The Rebel Army… This means that this mission is not a two-sided competition. It is a faction mission? Or maybe it is an overlapping of missions…"
Zi Wei recovered her composure slightly. At that moment, her brain was moving quickly as she thought. The intel provided by Feng Luo did catch her by surprise.
It was clear that the system prevented information about the Rebel Army camp joining the mission from leaking out. This made it so the players from the Federation camp did not know that there was another faction participating in the mission.
As for how they could prevent players from leaking the info? It was not all that hard.
For example, they could first gather the players through other means and only reveal the true objective by the time the mission officially began. Or perhaps, they could also deliberately cause an accident that put both sides together…
By now, Feng Luo saw and ascertained that Zi Wei was most probably very close to concluding, so he asked, "Can I ask what your next course of action is?"
"Well… I guess I can tell Mr. Feng about this… The losses we took at the fourth base was a lot more than we had expected. Just now, we had modified our plan to clear the fifth base, but now… The main reason is the disturbance on the island is very severe, it is just too difficult to obtain enemy intel…" Zi Wei shook her head with a bitter laugh.
"Hmm?" However, at that moment, her pair of purple eyes stared straight at Feng Luo.
It looked like she had just thought of something. In an instant, her smile returned and she said to Feng Luo, "Mr. Feng if you don't mind, can you help support us and provide our next action plan? Also, there's another thing that is related to you that I was just prepared to tell you… Let me introduce you to Uncle Lin."
After that, she pointed towards a Heavy Armor Warrior walking toward them while speaking to Feng Luo.
