Chapter 609: Situation Analysis
After a minute, inside a temporary meeting room located in a place inside the fourth research base.
"That is the situation, we have to discard our previous plan… Now, we need to reconsider our tactical plan. Moreover, we need to take into account the Rebel Army's influence in battle." Frontline Command, Jing Kong, the Heavy Armor Warrior called "Uncle Lin," as well as a few other Nine Star Guild members, were listening to Zi Wei finish talking with deep and serious frowns.
An upper management player of the Nine Star Guild spoke with an anguished expression, "The Rebel Army… For there to be a third faction taking part in this mission, and with no sign of this before… We don't even know their numbers and their team's make up. Without enough intel, how are we supposed to create a tactical plan?"
Zi Wei looked at Feng Luo beside her, nodded and said, "You don't have to worry about this. Mr. Feng, I'll hand over to you."
"The Rebel Army's team only has around a hundred players. In terms of their battle strength, they are quite good. However, compared to us, there is still a gap there. However, they have around 400 NPCs. Their normal soldiers are around as strong as the players. Among them, there are a few who look like leaders, and I estimate their strength to be at least equal to ours. However, the most important thing is that after they cleared out the fifth research base, they succeeded in controlling groups of the monsters there. Now, they are advancing towards the sixth base. If they continue developing and growing like this, we may have to face a large monster army soon." Feng Luo was the only "outsider" seated inside the room. After Zi Wei passed the baton to him, he spoke without any focus in his eyes.
"Hmm?" However, after he finished speaking, Feng Luo suddenly made a slight sound.
The people from Nine Star Guild's face stiffened. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing…" Feng Luo shook his head and his eyes had regained its focus. Then, he spoke in a whisper, "Are they ninjas? Looks like it's getting interesting."
When Feng Luo spoke these words, he whispered so gently that no one should have been able to hear him. Moreover, even if he spoke louder, the players present probably wouldn't even react.
However, Feng Luo did not notice that when he whispered those words, the eyes under the black heavy armor of the player called Uncle Lin had also twitched slightly.
No one else had noticed Uncle Lin's gaze either. Zi Wei paused for a brief moment before asking Feng Luo, "Mr. Feng, did you find traces of the people from North City near the fifth or sixth base?"
"Negative." Feng Luo shook his head.
"From the data transmitted by the fourth probe, it seems like the people from North City are just arriving outside of their fourth base." The Nine Star Guild player wearing the technology spectacles said. "However, due to the disturbances, the probe's signal has already reached its limit. I can't be 100% certain."
"Mr. Feng, can you…?" Zi Wei looked at Feng Luo.
"Please wait a moment." Feng Luo said and then, his vision flipped again.
After discovering the oddity at the fifth base, he no longer cared about preserving his psionic energy. He immediately dispatched two Scout Beetles after that. At that moment, one of the Scout Beetles had flown and reached the sky above the fourth base on the other side.
Before long, amid various expressions of anticipation of those in the room, Feng Luo spoke again. "The fourth base definitely has people."
Feng Luo's words made the commander team of the Nine Star Guild relax a little.
"There are only around tens of them. Also, these people are not going into the base, and are not putting a lot of effort into their fights. They are only creating a bunch of battle effects on the outside." However, after hearing the second half of Feng Luo's sentence, their frowns had returned.
"What is the intention of the people from North City?" Some of the players from Nine Star Guild asked, puzzled.
"It is a diversion that they are intentionally creating. The main squad did not even head towards the fourth base. These people are only interfering with our monitoring."
Zi Wei had an expression on her face as if she expected that to happen. "I suspect they did not attack any of the bases. Instead, their tactical plan was always to have a battle with us. They planned to fight us before they began the abandoned ruin exploration mission."
"They planned this from the start? That's just detrimental to both sides. Aren't they afraid of failing the mission?" After hearing Zi Wei's words, apart from Uncle Lin whose face was completely covered, the rest of the people there had a surprised look on their faces.
"Mr. Feng, you may have doubts in your mind and think that North City's decision to first defeat us in battle before starting the exploration is the correct one." At that time, Zi Wei explained to Feng Luo. "However, since both sides' true objective is the pet biochip equipment in the main base as well as the clean-up mission, the success of the exploration should always be the number one priority. If we were to first fight before clearing the ruins, even if we achieved victory, it would be a very bad victory. The remaining side might not have enough strength to clear the other branch facilities. There is not a need to talk about the more difficult main base."
Feng Luo nodded, indicating that he understood.
The players who took part in this mission were comparable in terms of their overall strength, even if one side consisted of players selected from Storm City while the other side was a congregation of all the large guilds of North City.
In terms of the result of an all-out battle, no matter which side won, it was probably quite difficult for there to be more than a hundred survivors.
This number was not enough to continue with the exploration.
Using the fourth base as an example, even with all of them taking part in the battle, they lost around 60 to 70 players. If they only had around 100 players with them, there was no way they would have been able to succeed in clearing the base.
"Concerning this, we have talked about this with the SK guild before. We even had a verbal agreement. It is because this abandoned ruin mission has a time and mission limit. Once both our guilds fail the mission, the large guilds from other cities would easily profit from that. That is why we initially thought that they would also consider the overall situation and focus on clearing the branch bases before engaging us in the final battle. That way, we'll at least make sure one side will complete the mission," said Jing Kong with a cold laugh.
Then, another Nine Star Guild's upper management member continued to say, "Since the branch bases contain items that could significantly reduce the difficulty of the main base, such as the antidote in the first base, the potion to resist the vines in the second base, as well as the potion that can inhibit the Rock Balls' self-destruct in the recently cleared fourth base. By then, even if we have fewer players remaining, we'll still be able to enter the main base and complete the mission."
Feng Luo did not speak.
The action of those from North City was most certainly quite bad as it not only harmed their opponents but themselves as well. Besides, they also went back on their words.
However, the people from Nine Star Guild should have at least considered the possibility of this happening before, right? After all, both sides only reached a verbal agreement, it wasn't a tangible binding agreement.
"Concerning this situation, we do have our backup plans. However, we did not expect that we would encounter two Quasi-Bosses on the sea first, which caused us to lose so many members, and then to lose even more members at the fourth base," said Zi Wei in resignation as if she had read Feng Luo's mind.
After pausing and deliberating for a brief moment, Zi Wei asked again, "Mr. Feng, can you find the current position of main forces of North City?"
"I'll try," said Feng Luo. Then, his eyes lost focus and turned into voids again.

Chapter 610: Mysterious Uncle Lin
After around two minutes, Feng Luo spoke. "Found them."
"Where?" The people from Nine Star Guild asked earnestly.
Feng Luo did not answer immediately, instead, he only frowned.
"What's wrong?" Zi Wei asked.
Feng Luo opened his eyes, shook his head and said, "My scouting pet was killed by the people from North City."
After discovering traces of the main forces of the North City players from afar, Feng Luo moved the Scout Beetle a little bit closer but before he knew it, the Scout Beetle was shot dead by a bullet from below.
The Scout Beetle's camouflage ability was incredibly strong; however, it was not invincible. For example, Jing Kong could use his Legendary Grade recon meter to discover the Scout Beetles in the sky.
Among the North City players underneath, there was either a Scout with a special scouting or detection talent or it was one with a similar Legendary Grade recon meter.
Apart from that, they also had an expert Sniper, as the shot that killed the Scout Beetle just now was a sniper bullet.
The good thing was that Feng Luo had already taken into account the complex situation on the island, so the three Scout Beetles that Feng Luo dispatched were only Elite Grade beetles. As long as he did not lose Commander Grade Scout Beetles that also could block detection skills, his losses wouldn't be too great.
Moreover, while the Scout Beetle was killed, using the eagle eye vision advantage, he had still discovered the enemy's position.
"Their people are here right now." Feng Luo pointed his finger at a location on the 3D map of the island projected by a player's technology spectacles. "This location is between the main base and the fifth and sixth base. The terrain is a forest, and they have the high ground. If we had followed our original plan, which was to move after clearing the monsters, whether we moved toward the sixth base or the main base, we would have been ambushed by them."
"It looks like there is no longer any doubt. They are planning to fight us first." Jing Kong looked at their position and said with a cold laugh.
An upper management member of Nine Star Guild said, "We can't fight them head-on. We have lost 30% of our members already. If we fight them now, even if we have Frontline Command's command skill bonus and 'that,' our chances of winning will still be very low."
When he said "that," he intentionally glanced at Feng Luo.
It was clear that the "that" he was referring to was a secret of the Nine Star Guild. With Feng Luo the only outsider present, there was no need to speak openly about it.
"Their current position is closer to the Rebel Army than us." Feng Luo did not pay any heed and spoke.
"Mr. Feng is correct… If the island only had us and them, then we would have to fight them no matter what. However, right now the island has three camps, and the Rebel Army's force is not any weaker than ours. With this, we have more options," Zi Wei said while nodding.
"Zi Wei, you mean our next action is to sit still? After that, we'll wait for the Rebel Army to meet and fight the people from North City first. Then, we will enter the fray and finish things up?" a Nine Star Guild member asked.
"Letting the Rebel Army camp fight the North City forces is the best option. However, staying still is not an option." Zi Wei shook her head.
"Since we have the means to observe their position, they may also have ways to monitor our movements. If we are currently being monitored by them, suddenly staying put and not doing anything may alarm them. The most important thing right now is that not everyone within our group can be trusted." After that, she looked toward the Heavy Armor Warrior she earlier referred to as Uncle Lin. "Oh, that's right. Uncle Lin, are you sure that the Scout with the ID Gold Karat and his friends are problems?"
"Yes, I'm certain. Just now, they were whispering and whatever they spoke could not be heard. However, you should know that apart from listening, I can also read them with my eyes. They seem to have some sort of agreement with those from North City. Moreover, it seems like their main target is now Mr. Feng." An aged voice came from underneath the heavy alloy mask while a pair of muddy eyes looked toward Feng Luo.
Zi Wei had already relayed this information to Feng Luo before. That was why Feng Luo was not surprised. However, when he heard Uncle Lin talk about using his eyes to read them, his heart skipped a beat.
"Uncle Lin, you mean to say that you can know what they are saying just from watching them?" As if he was very oblivious and curious, Feng Luo deliberately intervened and asked.
"A simple trick, gather some information by observing the lip movements of the people speaking. It isn't really useful in real life, but it still has its uses in the game." Uncle Lin spoke with a sigh.
"It is as I expected huh…" Feng Luo never would have thought that he would meet another person who knew how to read lips.
It was mentioned earlier that due to the technological advances of the Star Federation, the scanning eyepiece that soldiers wore could easily identify the delicate movements of a human's mouth from hundreds of meters away. Besides, for disabled people like deaf people, hospitals could also completely heal them. As such, there was no basis for "lip reading" to even exist.
However, Uncle Lin really knew how to read lips.
Moreover, from his voice, this person was probably quite old.
For such an old person to play the game, it was undoubtedly very rare. Not to mention he was playing as a Heavy Armor Warrior, the profession that requires the most stamina.
In addition to that, the upper management of the Nine Star Guild, even Zi Wei, the deputy guild leader, treated this Heavy Armor Warrior with the utmost respect. This made Feng Luo pay a lot more attention to Uncle Lin now.
However, after Uncle Lin finished speaking, he did not continue with that topic. Feng Luo also stopped asking any more questions.
The topic they were discussing inside the makeshift meeting room included topics such as how to get North City's forces to fight against the rebel army first, how to prevent the spies in the team from providing intel to the people from North City, exposed plans, and various other problems.
When speaking about that, the upper management of Nine Star Guild's tactical planning ability finally bared its fangs.
After just five minutes, the seven inside the room had concluded. After that, they immediately delegated the tasks and separated to execute their plans.
"Mr. Feng, thank you. We made you lose your scout pet too." Zi Wei said while walking with Feng Luo outside.
"No need to thank me. My pet is a bit special so the loss isn't that great. Moreover, I've already got two Chips with me. If your Nine Star Guild's mission fails, I don't think I'll be able to take that loss. Moreover, I am still looking forward to the Boss chip inside the main base." Feng Luo said in a joking manner.
However, the moment they exited the door, they walked past a person fully clad in silver armor.
It was the number one expert in the Nine Star Guild – Sword Ki Long River.
Feng Luo and Sword Ki Long River nodded to each other. They did not speak. After that, Feng Luo continued to walk with Zi Wei outside.
Inside the room, only the Heavy Armor Warrior called Uncle Lin was left.
Sword Ki Long River, who remained stone-faced no matter who he faced, put his hands together in salute and bowed very respectfully. Then, he respectfully called out, "Master."
At that moment, Feng Luo was already far away Otherwise, if he were to hear that, he would probably feel weirded out.
The reason was that it was incredibly rare for someone in Star Civilization to use the word "master." Normally, they would only use the word "teacher."
More importantly, putting their hands together to salute while bending the waist to bow was a very weird act. It was more like an ancient Chinese cultural etiquette.

Chapter 611: Super Tactical Squad
The moon in the sky above the island had already moved. It was two o'clock in the morning.
"Hiss?"
A Hypertoxic Chameleon resting on a moist mossy boulder suddenly raised its head as if it had heard something.
Its eyes still under its camouflage moved. The chameleon, which used infrared light to see, could still see things within 10 meters of it, even in this darkness.
"Puff!"
However, just as it raised its head, the golden afterimage of a sword had slashed through it. Its body, along with the rock it sat on, were both easily and silently sliced in half.
"To encounter a Hypertoxic Chameleon over here. Good thing there was only one. If it were a group, we'd be in big trouble." Jing Kong used an area-of-effect Detection skill on his Legendary Grade recon meter. After confirming that there weren't any other Hypertoxic Chameleons around, he continued to follow behind the Heavy Armor Warrior holding a raised shield who was opening the path in front of him.
"It is alright, with our squad's strength and with the poison resistance potion, we'll probably be able to deal with a group of them." Frontline Command said, his hands holding onto a special device while looking at the surroundings of his teammates progressing forward.
…
Inside the humid forest, there was nothing they could use to illuminate their surroundings.
The number of people in the squad that had to determine their path forward was low. There were only about 20 of them.
However, if any of the Storm City superstar fans were here, they would be in for a shock of their lives.
Among the 20 or so players within the squad, almost all of them were the best superstar players of Storm City.
The third-ranked player on the Sniper power ranking list – God Y; the fourth-ranked player on the Scout power ranking list – Jing Kong; the fifth-ranked player on the Machine Gunner power ranking list – Barbaric King; the third-ranked player on the Heavy Armor Warrior power ranking list – Douchebag… And then, there was also the player touted as the number one expert in Storm City – Sword Ki Long River.
One could say that all the top gunners and warriors of the Nine Star Guild were gathered here.
Apart from that, there were also several other signature superstar players from allies of the Nine Star Guild.
Of course, apart from these superstar players, the others from the squad might not be known by anyone else at the moment but it would not be long before everyone knew them.
"I gotta say Old Kong, this is the job of you gunners and warriors, why do you have to bring me along? Later if y'all really succeed in luring those people out, you've all got acceleration skills and your endurance and stamina will also allow you to get away. I'm different. There's no guarantee that I'll get away." The squad had a unique makeup. The squad members were mostly warriors and gunners. Only Zhao Yun – the only Earth Manipulator present, was the exception.
Due to this, he had a pained expression on his face when he spoke to Jing Kong, who was staring at his recon meter.
"Old Zhao, you can't complain about this to me. Although it was my suggestion, you're the one who pumped your chest and agreed to it confidently when guild leader Zi Wei extended the invitation to you. Moreover, you helping us with this isn't exactly a loss for you either. Apart from being able to temporarily use two Legendary Grade items for free, you've also earned the right to buy a Quasi-Boss chip at a 50% discount. That is what I would call incredibly sincere." Jing Kong laughed and said to Zhao Yun.
To ensure the success of the operation, apart from providing the non-Nine Star Guild members the right to purchase the Quasi-Boss chips that their guild produces at half the market price, the Nine Star Guild also gathered all the Legendary Grade items that they possessed and placed it in the hands of the members within this "Top Elite Squad."
At that time, everyone in that squad had at least two Legendary Grade items. In total, there were around 50 Legendary Grade items in the team.
In particular, almost everyone was equipped with one Legendary Grade defensive item.
This also made the players in the squad, even if they were glass cannons like gunners, under the effects of potions, had more than 10,000 HP.
This was enough to guarantee that none of the players in the squad would be killed in an instant in their upcoming "enemy luring" operation.
This was a squad that assembled all the true warrior and gunner experts in Nine Star Guild. And right now, they were all heading to base number six to lure the enemy.
The modified battle plan of the commanding team of the Nine Star Guild was to split the team into two squads.
The main squad would bring along the suspected spies and head towards the fifth base which was already cleared by the Rebel Army group.
Of course, when they get there, they will have to be shocked and surprised that the base had been emptied. After that, they would have to suspect that it was the North City players who got there first.
After that, Zi Wei and a few others would discuss before finally deciding to head to the main base.
As for this elite squad that consisted of around 20 people who, on paper, were heading to the sixth base to try and disturb North City's exploration progress.
However, in reality, they were heading to the sixth base to lure the Rebel Army group to the ambush set up by the North City players, which would result in a clash between both sides. After that, when both sides were battered and damaged, the remaining Storm City players would arrive and pick up the pieces.
Of course, this is just a very simplified explanation of the battle plan and objective.
In reality, to realize this battle objective, there were many factors and complexities that they needed to consider and account for.
For example, how were they going to get close to the sixth base without being detected? How were they going to lure the people from the Rebel Army camp, to make sure that they would be interested to pursue their squad of only around 20 uninteresting players? Also, how were they going to ensure the players from North City and the Rebel Army camp would engage in a large-scale battle?
All these problems had to be handled by the 20-man elite squad themselves.
"The area ahead of us is secured. No sign of any monsters or invisible sentries." Wearing a pair of Legendary Grade long combat boots, the female Scout – Green Arrow, walked in the front. She kept observing the surroundings.
Behind her, fully clad in a camouflage combat uniform, Black Panther held his sniper rifle and scanned the area using a standard tactical movement. Slightly in front of Green Arrow, Neutron Star held an alloy sword with both his hands, slashing away the vines and weeds along the way.
…
As to how and why Black Panther, Green Arrow, and Neutron Star joined this squad, to be honest, Feng Luo was slightly surprised.
The reason was that compared to the other players present, Black Panther and the other two, all of whom did not own any Legendary Grade items and were inferior in terms of their combat strength.
However, after Red Queen went and spoke with the one who selected members of the elite squad – Zi Wei, she nodded and agreed to it.
This only meant one thing, this was that Red Queen and Nine Star Guild's relationship was a lot more than he had expected.
However, Green Arrow's addition helped the elite squad a lot.
While Jing Kong had the Legendary Grade recon meter, his Detection skill would still have to go into cooldown at some point. Without the Detection skill, he would not have been able to detect everything along the way.
With Green Arrow's scouting talent, she did not need the Detection skill to obtain information on the things that she saw. It was the equivalent of owning a weakened yet constantly activated Detection skill.
A combination of both made the squad's ability to detect enemies reach the peak.
In the team, there was another Scout who was adept at anti-detection skills, which thoroughly minimized the likelihood of the squad being exposed.
One had to admit that for an operation that required stealth, a Scout's importance was way above high damage output professions like Machine Gunners.
"But I must say, Old Feng, your pet is a lot more useful than a Scout's skill." Zhao Yun said after complaining to Jing Kong. As he spoke, he looked curiously at the thing that had been painted black and was sitting on top of Feng Luo's shoulder munching on an energy crystal – 24K.

Chapter 612: Pirate Sentry
At the forefront of the squad, the ones opening the path weren't the three Scout players.
Instead, 10 Bladed Beetles were moving forward in stealth mode while another four Scout Beetles were scattered to four separate directions in the air!
"With them around, even if the Rebel Army sent hidden sentries who detected any sounds or discovered dead monsters, they would only think that it was the work of these odd-looking wild beetles, and as a result, they will also let their guard down." Zhao Yun grabbed a light green crystal and with an intrigued expression, placed it beside 24K's mouth.
This resulted in 24K, who usually ignored the feeding of just about anyone else, suddenly extended its tiny claws to grab the crystal.
It could not be helped. This guy was, after all, feeding it the crystal core dropped by a Level 60 Commander Grade monster that they fought with previously, and was a lot tastier than diamond crystals.
"Not bad, Mr. Feng. Concerning this pet of yours, I've gotta say, I am quite curious. It can summon wild monsters; moreover, it can summon a lot of them. In addition to that, they can even use long-range scouting abilities. I'm afraid it's at least a mutated Commander Grade pet, right?" Jing Kong raised his head and said to Feng Luo, who was holding the Wings of Death, during the brief gap he had while scouting.
24K had unique stats and attributes. Even the Detection skill did not provide a lot of info. As such, even Jing Kong, who had a Legendary Grade recon meter in his possession, was not able to obtain concrete info about 24K.
Of course, it was due to this that he did not know that Feng Luo had only displayed a very small portion of 24K's true strength.
He only let 24K summon ten Normal Grade Bladed Beetles, so its combat ability could only be perceived as around a unique type of Commander Grade pet. However, 24K was actually a real Boss Grade pet which was at a higher level than the Quasi-Boss pet biochip that many of these elite top-class players were vying for on that island. Moreover, it was also one of the unique types of Boss Grade pets.
Otherwise, many people would probably have been left speechless.
They were all top players. They not only have not yet found ways to awaken the Force, but they were also risking their lives to get a chance at purchasing a Quasi-Boss pet biochip at half price.
As for another person, he had become the second person to awaken the Force and had got himself a Boss Grade pet.
The gap was just a little too big.
…
After a dozen or so minutes, it was almost three in the morning.
"We're almost there. It is around the valley terrain over there ahead of and below us. That is the location of the sixth base." The top elite squad had finally reached the sixth base.
"Alright, everyone, slow down. Something's happening up ahead!" Jing Kong shouted suddenly to halt those who were about to take action as he looked at the feedback he received from the Legendary Grade recon meter after he used the Detection skill.
"Over there! There are four sentries!" Jing Kong pointed at a few gray dots on the recon meter's screen that was on night mode. Then, he made a "four" gesture with his hand.
"Huh… They've put up sentries, huh?" After hearing this, each of the players began to hide. They took out their night vision devices to look ahead.
In the direction where Jing Kong pointed at, two NPC pirates holding AK rifles and wearing tattered combat uniforms were pacing back and forth.
"Why are there only two? Didn't he say there were four?" After looking through the night vision binoculars, Big Pineapple found that there were only two people, and he felt a little bit suspicious.
"Be more thorough!" Jing Kong pointed again.
"Holy crap! There are two black dudes!" Big Pineapple looked speechless.
In the sentry post that barely had any cover, apart from the two yellow-skinned Asian sentries walking around with their AK rifles, there were two more hidden in the dark. Two dark-skinned sentries who barely even moved.
However, those two pirates were both black, and in a dark environment like this, their natural camouflage was amazing. For warriors and manipulators whose vision was not comparable to gunners, it was a test.
Of course, whether they were normal sentries or "dark sentries," under Jing Kong's Legendary Grade recon meter, the four pirate NPC's hiding was all but for naught.
[Pirate (Level 50 Elite). HP:5067.]
Feng Luo had placed the targets within the sniping scope of the Wings of Death and had obtained information about the targets.
Level 50 humanoid Elite Grade monster with low HP. To Feng Luo, he could easily guarantee a one-shot kill.
However, there were four of them and they needed to kill all of them in the first attack.
Communication was impossible on the island. While Scout players could block and interrupt communication between the opponent and the outside world, it did not mean that they could not signal any warning alarms. Whether it was a gunshot or firework displays or even a loud sound, these were easy and convenient methods for one to alarm others, it wasn't easy to contain.
The good thing was that Feng Luo was not the only Sniper in the squad.
Considering the advantages of Snipers in a mission like this, among the 20 plus players in the squad, there were seven Snipers, which was around one-third of the total.
As such, there was more than enough to deal with these four Level 50 Elite Grade pirates.
"I'll take care of the one under the tree." Nine Star Guild's signature Sniper player who once faced off against Feng Luo in the arena – God Y, had raised his yellow-colored 14.5mm caliber Desert Tiger and was moving quickly to find a spot with a suitable sniping angle when he spoke.
"Then, I will take that black pirate on the left." Another Sniper who was holding a half-completed Legendary Grade sniper rifle said as he chose one of the black guys as his target.
"I'll take the right one." Another Sniper said. At the same time, he picked up his purple-red sniper rifle to indicate his intention.
"My damage output might not ensure a one-hit KO, so I'll choose to fire a makeup shot." A non-Nine Star Guild Sniper player said while shaking his head.
Apart from him, the other two Snipers also indicated that they could not one-shot kill the target.
After all, while it was a humanoid monster with low HP, it was still 5,000 HP. Even with Legendary Grade items, if it weren't a Legendary Grade weapon, it was hard to guarantee a one-shot kill.
"Alright then, that last guy belongs to me." Feng Luo nodded. He picked up the Wings of Death and began to aim while crouching.
With sufficient strength and vitality stat points, even if he were to shoot while holding the gun up, Feng Luo could still ensure stability.
They did not have to kill these sentries. Even if the four sentries failed to sound the alarm after getting killed, if the enemy's security arrangement was tight enough, the Rebel Army camp might still become alarmed.
However, since the position of the sentry post was in the middle of their planned route of retreat to lure the enemy, they could not leave any stone unturned.
Moreover, even if they were to cause a commotion, it would be fine. After all, their objective was to "lure the enemy."
"Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff!"
After a few seconds, four light pops sounded as if someone had opened wine bottles in the night.
After that, the two Asian pirates who were patrolling the area had blood spurt out of their chest before collapsing on the ground. As for the two black pirates, their heads were pierced as white and red liquid flowed from their skull.
The other Snipers in the squad did not disappoint Feng Luo.
All four of the shots were Fatal Damage. Moreover, they had achieved the level of a fatal shot. The other three Snipers who were in charge of firing make-up shots did not have a chance to do anything.
It was natural that Feng Luo was not the only one with attacking types of talent. There were certainly players who were confident and capable enough to one-shot Elite Grade monsters.
"Yes, all done and dealt with." Jing Kong said after using another Detection skill on the Legendary Grade recon meter. "All four sentries have been killed. No one got away." He repeated it after the first sentence.
However, when he said "no one got away," he seemed to have paused for a brief moment.
Moreover, when he spoke, Jing Kong quietly placed the recon meter in front of Feng Luo. At the same time, his fingers in front of his body made a gesture towards a position behind the two of them.
"Yes, in that case, let's continue pressing forward so that we can complete the mission as soon as possible." Feng Luo understood immediately and pretended to move forward.
However, the moment he raised his leg to move forward, he turned around very quickly and suddenly. Then, the muzzle of Wings of Death instantly turned towards the location where Jing Kong was earlier gesturing towards.

Chapter 613: Ninja!
"Puff!"
Just as Feng Luo turned his muzzle around, an explosion suddenly occurred, and white smoke filled the air several meters in front of him.
Within the white smoke, the black silhouette of a human quickly moved backward.
"Bang!"
Without any hesitation, Feng Luo pulled the trigger and fired a searing hot bullet towards that human figure.
However, the bullet missed because the human figure that the bullet hit was only an illusory dark smoke amid the white smoke.
"Whoosh, whoosh!"
After Feng Luo fired the shot, two black flashes accompanied by strong gusts shot out from the white smoke.
If one's vision were good enough, one would be able to see that the projectiles that flew out were two black metal cross-shaped hidden darts.
"Pa, pa!"
The two darts flew as fast as bullets. Besides, when they flew in the air, they flew at a curve, and at such a fast speed, even Feng Luo was unable to react in time.
"-2345, -2756!"
Two black darts accurately struck both of Feng Luo's hands, which were holding the Wings of Death. The sharp points of the cross-shaped darts pierced through the defense of the SUV combat uniform and punctured into his arms. The force generated from the attack not only pushed his sniper rifle's aim off and dealt more than 5,000 Weak Point damage on him, but the attack also caused Feng Luo to feel numb around the hit area. His entire arm lost strength, and he could not even move his fingers.
Behind the gradually dissipating white smoke, there was a slight rustling sound. A human shadow truly covered in black robes charged towards a direction across the group with amazing speed.
"Bang, bang!"
After Feng Luo fired and Jing Kong shouted, two Sniper players who reacted had moved a few steps and charged out of the area engulfed by the white smoke and fired shots at the black shadow.
However, even their marksmanship, that was capable of hitting the pirate sentry's vital points in one shot at a hundred meters' distance, missed.
The moment the two players raised their rifles, the masked person clad in black robes had preemptively leaped onto a tree beside him very quickly as if he had eyes on his back. This was also why the shots missed.
Of course, he did not have eyes on his back. Rather, he only had two weapons that looked like samurai swords strapped on his back in an "X" shape.
He was small and short in stature, had an incredible stealth ability, and was using a dart as a weapon… There was no need to doubt who the person was. This was exactly the Ninja that Feng Luo saw earlier through the Scout Beetle.
This Rebel Army ninja was extremely quick and agile. At that moment, the ninja jumped a few times in the trees and returned into the shadows.
In a forest environment like this, a Light Armor Warrior's Charge skill would not be able to reach the peak speed, and as such, there was no way for them to catch up to the ninja.
"Pa!"
However, that only referred to normal Light Armor Warriors.
The moment the Rebel Army ninja rushed into the shadows, another human shadow followed right behind, the number one expert in Storm City, Sword Ki Long River.
Sword Ki Long River displayed the skill similar to "Qing Gong" that he used when dealing with the Quasi-Boss Giant Serpent on the military ship back then yet again. Both his feet moved him from tree to tree, and his speed was not any slower than the Rebel Army ninja.
"F*ck! Talk about failing miserably in an easy task. The AI of these pirates is higher than I estimated. The four minions earlier were probably specifically set up as cannon fodder. This guy that possesses powerful camouflage and anti-detection skills is their real hidden sentry." Jing Kong activated his skill as he began to pursue them along with Feng Luo, who had used his mouth to bite off the darts from his wounds that were healing through the Force and had green recovery numbers popping above his head, as well as a few other players.
…
The pursuit did not last very long. After chasing less than 50 meters, they saw an ensuing battle in front of them between the ninja, who had already unsheathed both the swords behind his back and Sword Ki Long River.
"Clang, clang!"
Just like their movement speed, the rate at which the golden alloy sword and the gray ninja sword coated with anti-light paint clashed together was also incredibly high.
By the time Feng Luo and the others caught up, their weapons had collided against each other seven to eight times. Damage numbers continued popping up above their heads.
The thing that surprised Feng Luo was Sword Ki Long River's combat style in this battle. The force he displayed was very different from when they were fighting the Quasi-Boss monster earlier.
The Legendary Grade alloy sword in his hands was no longer swung around powerfully like how most other warrior professions in War would in pursuit of maximum damage.
Instead, he was expertly wielding his one-handed sword and using it flexibly to block most of the attacks from the dual-wielding ninja.
"It's not a coincidence that he can maintain his rank as the number one after all." Feng Luo gave his evaluation in his mind. He raised the Wings of Death with both his arms that had regained their senses.
It was a group operation and not a solo duel in the arena. Naturally, there was no need to talk about the fairness of a duel with an NPC.
"Clang!"
However, the Rebel Army ninja had most certainly seen Feng Luo and the others' arrival. As such, he swung the ninja blades he held it in his hands violently and pushed Sword Ki Long River and his alloy sword back.
At the same time, his body was once again engulfed by an explosion of white smoke.
"Puff!"
However, a 14.5mm caliber sniper bullet shot through a silencer flew straight at a location amidst the smoke that had not yet dissipated.
"-6030!"
A yellow Weak Point damage number appeared. The Rebel Army ninja, who had already jumped onto a tree branch, leaned forward and directly fell from the tree and into the ground.
"Ta, ta, ta…"
Immediately after that, Jing Kong fired five consecutive shots from his submachine gun and emptied the remaining HP of the ninja that only had around 10,000 HP.
[You've killed an Intermediate Ninja (Level 50 Commander). Kill Contribution: 42%. Obtained Experience: 840.]
"It is a ninja." After seeing the system's notification popup message, Feng Luo was not too surprised.
After all, the game had Dongsang City that had a Japanese cultural background. A special profession like that of a ninja would not be all that odd.
"Ninja?" On the other hand, Sword Ki Long River read the word aloud in an odd manner.
Since his face was covered in a mask, his expression could not be seen.
For this battle, Sword Ki Long River's contribution was huge. He single-handedly caught up to and blocked the Level 50 Commander Grade humanoid monster.
While humanoid monsters were powerful in terms of their high AI and ability to use multiple weapons and tools, the number of players present who could draw a Level 50 Commander Grade target was less than five.
"It is a good thing this guy doesn't have fireworks or other alarm tools on him. Moreover, he also did not get the chance to alarm others just now." Jing Kong said as he frisked the body of the Rebel Army ninja. "Oh, that's right. Do any of you need this thing?" After that, he picked up the glowing battle loot that the Rebel Army ninja dropped. It was a tiny bottle containing a dark green liquid.
[Poison Potion (Special)]
After coating the substance on a melee weapon or a hidden flying type weapon, in the case where the weapon lacerates the skin of the target, the affected area will be inflicted with the Numb Effect (Usage Count 10/10).

Chapter 614: Catching Bullets Barehanded
After killing the Rebel Army ninja, Feng Luo, Jing Kong, and the others quickly returned to the spot where they could see the sixth research base.
As they did so, the team in front had already reached the sixth base that was situated at the edge of the valley.
Green Arrow and another Scout player zoomed in on the image on their recon meter screen, displaying the situation at the base which was brightened up by the light of a flare.
At the same time, the Rebel Army's clean-up operation of the sixth base was already nearing its end.
At the center of the valley, a group of scorpion-like creatures emanating a metallic glow under the moonlight, each with three tails that were over 1.5 meters long, was being grouped together by a group of NPC pirates wielding AK rifles.
Not far away from the scorpion creatures were around a dozen or so creatures that looked like large versions of the Hypertoxic Chameleon. They were large, each over ten meters in size, and they had fiery red scales and a sharp horn in front of their heads.
[Giant One-Horned Flame Lizard] Basic Level: 60 HP: 60,000. There were 17 monsters and each was a Commander Grade monster.
[Three Tail Split Shell Scorpion] Basic Level: 55 HP: 8,000. There were 432 monsters and 210 of them were Elite Grade monsters and above.
An NPC wearing technology spectacles, who was protected by several Pirate Heavy Armor Warriors holding raised shields, was controlling a device that caused each of the monsters to let out a loud roar.
Looking at the image on the recon meter screen, Phoenix and Big Pineapple looked very curious while the players from Nine Star Guild frowned.
"The Rebel Army has manipulated so many monsters. Under the command of someone, the monsters' combat strength is probably not any less than 300 elite players."
"What should we do? Should we just go ahead to kill that researcher NPC first? In that case, all the monsters might just lose control." Suggested a Nine Star Guild player.
Disagreeing with that suggestion, Jing Kong shook his head and said, "No, the defense is too tight. Moreover, it's impossible for them to only have one researcher NPC, they probably have others. Killing just one is meaningless."
"Compared to this researcher NPC, I think it might be better if we directly target this pirate captain. If we kill him, we could also earn some extra bonuses as well." The screen of Green Arrow's recon meter shifted and stopped to focus on a middle-aged NPC's face belonging to the pirate captain.
"Hawkeye Hawkes (Level 65 Commander). HP: 25,000. Federation A Grade Wanted Criminal. Bounty Amount: 10 million credits."
"10 million credits!" After reading that message, Big Pineapple's eyes widened as dollar signs filled his eyes. "I agree. As the leader, if we kill him, his subordinates will try to avenge him and chase us to their death. This is because avenging the death of the past captain is a shortcut to becoming the new leader."
"Where did you learn this? A movie?" Phoenix turned around and rolled her eyes at Big Pineapple.
However, even though Big Pineapple's suggestion was motivated by his greed for money, which was triggered after he saw the high bounty for taking the pirate captain's head, his reasoning was not completely illogical.
If they killed the pirate captain, it was highly likely that they would anger the rest of the NPC pirates.
"So, our first target will be the pirate captain then. Alright then, I'm going to activate the device. Everyone, please accept." Frontline Command said. At the same time, he had grabbed and used a Force Potion on himself. Then, he quickly clicked and brought out the device interface.
"Do you accept Frontline Command's command request?" Immediately after that, a popup appeared in front of everyone.
"Yes!"
After confirming their selection, the initially jammed comms device everyone had recovered in an instant. As long as they were not too far away, they could communicate through audio again.
The first message that was issued through the comms was… "Frontline Command marked Hawkeye Hawkes and listed him as the primary target to kill."
After that, as they shifted their sight toward the sixth base. The pirate captain, even among a crowd of over a hundred people, emanated an eye-catching red glow from his body. As such, it became incredibly easy for the players to pinpoint his location.
Target Mark. A skill for battlefield commanders.
Naturally, Feng Luo was one who felt the effects of the skill greatly. Whether it was the previous Quasi-Boss monsters or the Rebel Army ninja just now, their positions were quickly discovered by him after they were marked, and in a battle, it was incredibly useful.
Compared to using his sniping scope where only he could see the mark, the mark that could be projected into the vision of every player was a lot more useful.
In addition to that, the battlefield commander's device also had the function of obtaining all kinds of real-time statistics on the battlefield.
The enemy team's player with the highest damage output, heal or kills, as long as they were identified and then marked, it was safe to say they wouldn't be able to live more than a few seconds more after being marked.
"The commander, Frontline Command, used team support skill – Tactical Deceit." Another popup message came from their comms.
In the next moment, a guild badge appeared in front of every player's chest. It was a golden-winged badge with the characters "SK" carved on it.
To outsiders, the players on the battlefield would be considered as the core players of North City's SK Guild.
"This skill is just as useful in a group battle." Feng Luo and the others had disguised themselves as players from the Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group before when they were in Silvermoon City. It was natural for him to know just how good a deceiving skill like this was on a chaotic battlefield.
"The profession – Battlefield Commander is quite interesting. It is no wonder it is a rare hidden profession."
There was no wonder why the people from the Nine Star Guild were so confident. If they did not encounter the Quasi-Boss monsters at sea and suffer considerable damages at the fourth base, the Battlefield Commander's presence in a group battle was definitely enough to increase their overall battle strength substantially in a true large-scale group battle.
…
After Frontline Command activated his custom device, the next battle stage belonged to the Snipers.
All seven of the Snipers in the team loaded their rifle chambers. Quietly, they aimed their guns at the enemy NPC pirate captain beneath them.
While Big Pineapple wanted the 10 million credits bounty a lot, since he couldn't take out his machine gun, he could only stay there and stare.
"Fire!"
"Puff, puff, puff…"
Frontline Command's voice was heard through the comms device.
Consecutive gunshots could be heard. Multiple sniper rifle bullets flew straight at the pirate captain who was standing right outside the entrance of the base.
However, the moment the sounds of the shots rang, the pirate captain who was standing in place suddenly raised his head. A hawk-like glare shot straight towards them as if piercing through the night sky itself.
Following that, he instantly shifted his foot sideways and then back. At the same time, a formless power seemed to surround his body.
"Discovered Force energy fluctuation." Jing Kong's Legendary Grade recon meter immediately sounded a Force fluctuation warning.
After this message was conveyed to Frontline Command's device, it was quickly sent as a notification that appeared in front of every player's eyes.
Among the seven sniper rifle bullets, six of them missed after the pirate captain moved one step away.
As for the last remaining 14.5mm caliber Armor-piercing Round that traveled substantially faster than the rest, just as it was about to hit, it was caught by a hand covered by a black hawk-shaped glove that was emanating a layer of Force fluctuations.

Chapter 615: Giant One-Horned Flame Lizard
"F*ck me! He caught the bullets barehanded!" After watching that scene unfold in front of them, a few people could not help but curse.
The scene was truly a little bit outrageous, as bullets traveled thousands of meters per second.
In particular, for Snipers, it was even harder to accept that their bullets were ultimately caught by the target barehanded.
Additionally, this NPC pirate captain also possessed the Force.
Compared to players, NPCs did not have to possess the Force to go over Level 50. Besides, there weren't that many NPCs who wielded the Force. It was natural that none of the players would have expected a pirate captain who was only at Commander-Grade would also have the Force.
In the end, after the first shot, several players couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.
Compared to the players, the pirate captain who almost had seven new holes open up in his body seemed a lot calmer.
He stared expressionless towards the direction of the players' super squad. His eyes seemed as if they were able to see through hundreds of meters before his mouth moved.
In the next moment, the NPC pirate gunners around him raised their AK rifles and fired towards the players' direction.
As for the pirate captain, he simply retreated into the building at the base, making the next round of incoming attacks by the players to miss yet again.
"A miscalculation. If we knew this, we wouldn't have chosen him as our target!"
"Forget it, don't dwell on it! It is a tactic to lure the enemy anyway!"
The players were unfazed by the strafe of bullets fired by the pirate NPCs.
Due to the jamming of communications, only the pirates around the pirate captain heard his command. In the distance of 300 meters, the bullets fired by the pirates that reached the players had been significantly weakened. For the players who were already buffed, the bullets could not deal much damage.
"Change of target. We follow the original plan and attack the monsters. We'll get the two groups of monsters moving," Frontline Command's voice came from the communications device.
Earlier, the commander team of Nine Star Guild's actual plan was to attack the monsters to cause a commotion between the monster groups. That way, they would also force the Rebel Army NPCs and players to follow them. However, when they saw the high bounty of the pirate captain just now, who only had around 20,000 HP, they made the impromptu decision to change their first target.
Although they were surprised at their failure to kill the pirate captain, they still had time to attack those monsters.
The monsters manipulated by the Rebel Army had a trait that all players knew, which was that if a Fatal Damage was dealt, they would lose control temporarily due to their anger.
For other professions, dealing a Fatal Damage was extremely difficult; however, for top-class Snipers, it was not all that hard.
"Bang, bang, bang…"
As the pirate NPCs continued to fire barrage after barrage of shots at the players while closing in on them, one after another, sniper rifle bullets shot through silencers flew towards the two groups of monsters. In particular, the large Giant One-Horned Flame Lizard that the Scouts found had a personality trait of being extremely irritable was prioritized.
"Roar, roar!"
After getting shot, over a dozen Giant One-Horned Flame Lizards, which were already somewhat agitated, began to puff out white smoke from their nostrils as well as some fog-shaped liquid dissipating and flowing in front of them.
When one of the Giant One-Horned Flame Lizards sneezed, it caused a few sparks to appear amidst the white smoke.
"Boom!"
The dissipating fog-like liquid exploded and burned, which caused the combat uniform of an NPC pirate, who was focused on shooting at the players standing in an area in front of them, to burn directly. In an instant, he turned into a shrieking human torch and before long, a ball of fire wailing and rolling on the ground.
However, the Level-60 Commander-Grade Giant One-Horned Flame Lizards that had just been brought under their control did not care about the NPC pirate's life. They simply stomped on and over the NPC pirate consecutively with their pillar-like thick legs that also had long and sharp hawk-like reverse-hooked claws. They ignored the shouts of the Rebel Army researcher and charged straight towards the location of the tactical squad.
"James, James! F*ck, F*ck…" A black pirate, who was over two meters tall, holding a large machete that was over one meter long, shouted and cursed after he saw his crewmates' horrible end.
At the same time, he turned around and shouted to the players beside him, "Adventurers, the captain has commanded for all of you to get rid of those people!"
After seeing the Fatal Damage numbers popping up above the heads of the Giant One-Horned Flame Lizards, a gunner player ignored the NPC pirate and shouted, "F*ck me! The enemy's damage is too insane! They even have five-digit damage numbers! I ain't going! We'll get KO'ed in an instant!"
He was grimacing as he shouted all his thoughts. At that time, he realized the folly and his naivety for wanting to defeat the top superstar players of two main cities and become famous in one fell swoop.
"Puff!"
The flash of a sword slash could be seen. The Rebel Army player was cut and fell on the ground. Fresh blood spread across the ground.
"You are not allowed to retreat. This is Captain Hawkeye's order. Hurry up. Get your asses over there now!" The black NPC pirate leader said with his machete raised.
The NPC was a Level-50 Commander-Grade unit. The players present, not to mention a one-on-one battle, but even if it were five or six on one, there was no guarantee that they would win.
Besides, surrounding the pirate leader was a few Elite-Grade pirate subordinates holding AK rifles in their hands.
"Motherf*cker… We'll go! I don't think that just 20 of them will be able to defeat over a hundred of us!" Although the Rebel Army players were grimacing, they had no choice but to go ahead with it.
"F*ck me… That is… Legendary!" However, at that moment, a Scout player within the Rebel Army suddenly shouted with bright and widened eyes.
The pirates shooting with their AK rifles got closer and closer, and in addition to that, the monsters were also attacking. As things progressed, the tactical squad had also started to record injuries and damages.
A Sniper player was a bit unlucky and was hit by over a dozen attacks consecutively. Even if he had used high-level potions before the battle, his HP was still not enough. He was the first to turn into a bright white light and dropped a bunch of items on the ground.
Among them, apart from seven to eight pet biochips, there was also a very magnificent orange light.
"God damn it! Old T dropped his Legendary Grade gear!" At that moment, the tactical team was already amid a retreat.
Since they had achieved their objective of luring the enemy, it was obvious that they did not need to remain there. After all, no matter how strong they were, a team of only 20 plus players would never be able to take care of over a hundred Rebel Army NPCs and players.
However, they did not expect someone to die at that moment; moreover, to also drop a piece of Legendary Grade equipment.
"I'll go and help him pick it up…" A Nine Star Guild's Light Armor Warrior said. However, he immediately stopped walking after he spoke.
He stopped because he noticed that it was already too late. Apart from the first Giant One-Horned Flame Lizard that was less than 30 meters away, the huge bunch of skills cast by the bright-eyed swarm of Rebel Army players from behind completely dissuaded him from going back to pick up the Legendary Grade item.
However, at that moment, they no longer needed more ideas to lure the enemy anymore.

Chapter 616: North City's Sniper
3:20 in the morning, at the side of the base located in the middle of the Devil Tri-Horn Fog Island, within a forest that had a higher terrain.
A Scout player wearing the golden SK Guild badge on his chest was hiding behind a large boulder while staring at the screen of the device he was holding.
Suddenly, his eyes twitched and he exclaimed with a whisper, "Something's up!"
"What's the situation?" A warrior player wearing a platinum-colored badge on his chest, which meant that he was one of the highest-ranking officials of the SK Guild, asked.
"Somebody's coming over from the fifth base. From the information shown here on the device, the number of people who have entered the detected range is around 40 plus, and it is still increasing." The device that the player was holding suddenly showed a bunch of white dots that indicated humans.
"Are they the people from Storm City?" The warrior player asked?
"They should be. There shouldn't be anyone else on the island." The Scout player said while staring at the device.
"They're pretty fast, aren't they? Have they already cleared all the branch bases? They probably lost several people from that. I wonder if the higher-ups of the Nine Star Guild has caught wind of us not bothering to clear the bases. Regardless, even if they're aware, it'll be useless. They'll still have to fight us in the end." The SK Guild's official said with a smirk. "Get everyone ready and to start preparing. We've spent so much time on this mission, it is finally coming to an end."
"Yes… Hold on, no… Brother Chicken, Wait a second!" However, at that moment, the Scout player suddenly shouted again.
"What's wrong?" The SK Guild official's face froze for a moment.
"That's odd. These people seem to be separated into two teams. Besides, the group in front seems to be running away while the group at the back looks like they are giving chase. At the same time, they seem to be fighting against each other." The Scout player stared at the device he was holding with a weird expression as he spoke.
"Fighting against each other… Hold on. The people being pursued can't be ours, right? They shouldn't be. Peanuts and the others are not in that direction… Could it be that the people from Storm City are having an internal conflict? Perhaps somebody killed someone to steal a dropped Quasi-Boss pet biochip or perhaps it is something else? Heh, it is just like I said earlier. Their method of bringing in unknown players who are trying to make a name for themselves into a mission like this is bound to bring them problems. Not only did they recruit spies from us, but they've now also got a coup d'etat on their hands. By the time the mission ends and everything gets put on the forum, the Nine Star Guild is bound to lose face… Yes, perhaps we can use this chance to…" The SK Guild official seemed to have become distracted as he spoke. He even went to think about how to capitalize on the current development.
"No! There are also monsters behind these people! The people chasing them from behind are mixed in with the monsters?" The Scout player's brain was reaching its capacity.
He simply put down his recon meter and took out a pair of night-vision binoculars to look toward at the location that he was scouting earlier.
In that direction, he could see bunches and bunches of colorful energy explosions. He could also begin to hear the vague sounds of gunfire.
However, concerning identifying the people who were there, it was not that easy.
Although the fog on the island at night was not thick, a distance like this would nevertheless affect one's vision. Moreover, the Scout and the others were trying to look through a thick, forest environment.
…
After five full minutes, when the pursued and the pursuer got a lot closer and as the group chasing the first group fired a flare that brightened the surroundings, the players from North City spying in Storm City's team could finally see the pursuer's group using their binoculars.
"NPC pirates? Why are there NPC pirates? No, wait. There are also some players mixed in with them. But what's that badge on their chest, why are they red? F*ck! It's the enemy faction. These players are from the Rebel Army camp!" After being able to see what was happening clearly, the players from North City couldn't help but feel surprised.
The island had Rebel Army camp players. What the f*ck? Weren't Storm City and North City players the only ones who should be there?
"Phew, brothers, let's go! The people from North City are just up ahead on top of the hill! We've already taken care of the people from Storm City. Now, we only need to take care of these arrogant idiots from North City… Phew… The Boss biochip in the base, as well as the chip production equipment inside, are valued at more than several billion credits, all of them belong to us now. By then, we'll divide things up based on the kill count and the mission contribution. Everyone should get at least a few tens of millions!"
"Oh, that's right. Let the monsters manipulated by the NPCs attack first. Don't force yourself. We'll wait until the monsters exhaust the players from North City first!"
However, what surprised the players from North City the most was that at that time, the people across from them suddenly shouted loudly.
The shouts were very loud, so loud that even amidst all the shooting and the energy explosions, even the players from North City heard them.
"F*ck me! The people from Storm City have got done in by the Rebel Army!"
"Is that possible? In that case, just how many Rebel Army units are on the island?"
"It is not impossible. Not only do they have humans but they also have monsters too! However, to be honest, I don't believe that. Although the people from Storm City's group don't know each other much, with NIne Star Guild leading them and with their all-star team, there's no way they'll be taken out so easily."
Most North City players did not believe that news about Storm City's team being wiped out by the Rebel Army was true.
However, the voice and the sound of the enemy's words were too bold. In particular, the description stating that they were "arrogant idiots" meant that the Rebel Army people already knew that they were lying in wait of an ambush already.
"Damn it! That means that the battle and the chase was only an illusion. Is their objective is to prevent us from attacking them immediately?"
A few North City players could not help but try to fill in the gaps.
The Rebel Army camp people were indeed quite cunning. Were the players from Storm City actually dealt with?
…
"Pant, pant…"
In a forest that was around 300 meters away, Frontline Command, who had maximized his device's audio volume to the max, ran and panted heavily. It seemed as if he was about to die from panting.
After he shouted his command, the mission of the enemy luring operation squad was almost completed.
While their words were certain to cause the Rebel Army people to feel suspicious and even if the players from North City wouldn't believe them, the fact that they became suspicious or angry was enough for them.
"Bang!"
However, the moment he put down his loudspeaker, a bullet emanating a blue glow struck his chest.
"-7499!"
A red Fatal Damage number popped up above his head. Frontline Command's HP decreased significantly to less than only one-third.
If it weren't for the fact that he was the commanding officer, the three defensive Legendary Grade items, as well as the buff potion he ingested earlier, it was highly probable that he would have been one-shot killed just now.

Chapter 617: Deep into Ocean of Flowers
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
"Sniper!" After hearing Frontline Command's groan and the high damage number popping up above his head, Feng Luo's thought immediately went to the North City Sniper who shot and killed the Scout Beetle earlier with one single shot.
Right now, they were only around 300 meters away from the enemy, but due to the complex forest environment of the area they were in, it was practically impossible to visually identify one's exact position.
The enemy probably pinpointed their location through their voices before firing at them. Without a doubt, this Sniper was an expert player.
Apart from the Sniper, at that time, fiery clouds began to gather in the sky above the group and a few machine-gun bullets also began hitting the tree branches and trunks around them.
"We've achieved our objective. Stop progressing forward and run toward that direction." Feng Luo quickly pointed to a direction and led the way.
Although one of his Scout Beetles was killed earlier, Feng Luo sent out another Scout Beetle far away to scout ahead and as a result, he was very familiar with the situation at the base and had prepared a path of retreat for the operation.
After all, they only needed to lure the Rebel Army over. They didn't have to put themselves in danger risking the chance of getting caught in North City's ambush just for realism's sake.
However, it was still regrettable. If it weren't for the fact that the situation did not allow it, Feng Luo would have liked to duel against that Sniper.
…
Feng Luo and his teammates suddenly changed direction. Luckily, the Rebel Army players were in a bit of a mess at that moment.
Although Frontline Command directed his commands to the people from North City, the Rebel Army camp players who were slightly closer to them still heard them.
"What the heck?"
"When the hell did we kill the players from Storm City?"
"What the hell does that mean? Aren't they North City's people? Are they trying to pull something here?"
A few Rebel Army camp players became dumbfounded.
However, while they were puzzled, the players from North City were not.
Among the manipulators, only the Wind Manipulators were able to reach them at this distance. However, while the Machine Gunners were well within their shooting range, there was no need to mention the Snipers who had a much larger attack range.
"Ta, ta, ta…"
"Bang, bang, bang!"
Many bullets were shot towards the Rebel Army camp players as if bullets were free. With their location exposed by the flare, they were pretty much just live targets.
"F*ck me!"
"Hurry up and dodge! Go back! Retreat! Stop charging!"
Most of the Rebel Army camp players who were lured by the Legendary-Grade item had regained their senses after waking from the daze caused by the rain of bullets. They shouted and cursed while dodging and running behind some trees for cover.
Only a few of the Rebel Army camp players were still determined and did not give up. They turned around and continued to pursue Feng Luo's group.
The situation was not that great. The Rebel Army camp players who had been pursuing the group of top-class players had suddenly become like lame ducks.
Did that mean that the plan Feng Luo and his group created of wanting to have the Rebel Army clash with the players from North City had failed?
Of course, it was not going to fail, as the players were able to regain their senses; however, the monsters and NPCs were not able to do so.
The group of Giant One-Horned Flame Lizards that Feng Luo and the others angered earlier was behind the Rebel Army camp players since their movement speed was not that high. However, as the Rebel Army camp players stopped moving, these lizards did not stop moving. Rather, they simply stomped on and over the players trying to run away and continued to chase Storm City's squad.
Due to long-distance running, each of them was panting and their nostrils continued to spew out large amounts of flammable fog that burst into flame from sparks.
"Crackle, crackle…"
Over ten meters in size, one of the monsters ran into and easily crushed a tree trunk while flames surrounded its body. Even the non-Scout players from North City could not help but pay attention to them.
After a while, the players from North City suddenly remembered what Frontline Command said earlier.
Some of the Scout players discovered that all of the monsters were over Level-60 Commander-Grade monsters.
…
The attacks of the players from North City attracted the attention of most of the monsters that were initially chasing Feng Luo's group, who, by now, had already exited the forest and were heading into what appeared to be "an ocean of flowers."
Gigantic flower discs with red and white spots continued to sway with dark green vines that looked like poisonous snakes. It was an ocean of spotted python flowers that were larger than the ones back at the second base.
"They got in here. Are we chasing them?" The Rebel Army camp players who made the pursuit until that point began to hesitate because the ocean of flowers impaired their vision even more than the forest.
More importantly, the vines that looked like snakes seemed odd. They looked as if they were alive.
"Hiss!"
The players stopped moving. However, a Giant One-Horned Flame Lizard that was not lured away by the players from North City charged into the "ocean of flowers" without any hesitation.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…"
The moment the Giant One-Horned Flame Lizard entered the ocean of flowers, the large number of vines on the ground began to move as if they had come alive.
Multiple dark green vines, in just a few short seconds, easily wrapped around the Level-60 Commander-Grade monster like pythons. No matter how hard it struggled, it could not get itself free.
"F*cking shit!" A few Rebel Army players who were not willing to be there in the first place instantly turned around to escape after witnessing the scene before them.
…
Within the ocean of flowers, a group of people were half-crouched and moving through the area.
Everywhere they passed, the vines that were like poisonous snakes simply moved away from their bodies as if they were afraid of them.
The "ocean of flowers" was not a place anyone could force their way through.
If it weren't for the potion that could restrain these types of ancient creatures, which they obtained at the second base, any player who entered the "ocean" would have met the same end as the Giant One-Horned Flame Lizard. It was, without a doubt, the best path of retreat.
However, among the elite squad of over 20 people, by the time they succeeded in retreating, only 16 of them were left.
While the Rebel Army players had weaker gears and items, they had an absolute number advantage. Not to mention there was also the presence of the NPC pirates.
As such, throughout the enemy luring operation which covered quite a long distance, it was impossible for them not to suffer losses.
By the time they reached the center of the "ocean of flowers," Big Pineapple put his alloy shield on the ground and said, "It is finally complete. That was really tiring. Let's just wait here for the main force to arrive."
Zhao Yun sat on Big Pineapple's shield, almost falling flat on the ground and said while panting heavily, "Phew! You're tired? I'm the epitome of tiredness right now… Pant… I say, why the hell did y'all bring me along?"
As a manipulator, even when equipped with a Legendary-Grade pair of boots that contained movement speed enhancing bonuses, he couldn't maintain a high movement speed all the time, because his profession's stamina recovery simply could not keep up.
Throughout the journey, he was so tired he felt as though he could die. If it weren't for the fact that a few Light Armor Warriors took turns to pull him along, he might have followed the unfortunate few and died along the way.
However, Feng Luo understood the reason why Jing Kong brought Zhao Yun along with them.
If it weren't for Zhao Yun's energy creation and skills that blocked attacks and provided them with cover, their group would have suffered a lot more losses. They might have even been caught up before they reached their point of retreat.
After all, the group of players probably never did anything close to leaving their backs exposed to their enemies before.

Chapter 618: Underground Tunnel
"Mr. Feng, what's the situation outside? Is the plan successful?" After stopping, Frontline Command turned around to look at Feng Luo.
Amid the ocean of flowers, with an anti-detection skill active, as long they remained cautious, their position would not be exposed.
However, since the density of the flowers and plants was too high, they could not see outside. They could only hear the sounds of battle. All kinds of bullets and a variety of skills flew past their heads but they did not know what the situation was.
The good thing was that among them, one person could still clearly observe the situation outside.
"Yes… Both sides have certainly engaged in battle. Moreover, the battle looks very intense." Feng Luo's eyes were empty and void when he spoke, as he was observing the battlefield using the Scout Beetle's vision.
However, before he finished speaking, Feng Luo made a slight sound. "Hmm? The Rebel Army's pirate captain's AI seems quite high. It looks like he's able to detect the North City players hiding in the mountains. He ordered the Three Tailed Split Shell Scorpions to use long-range attacks to target and kill the North City Machine Gunners. Under his commands, these pirates are surprisingly orderly. The battle looks to be tilting one-sidedly towards the Rebel Army."
Feng Luo could not help but feel surprised because, for people who knew the structure and player make up of the North City team, they would feel that the group from North City would have a higher chance of winning, even if the Rebel Army controlled monsters.
However, at that moment, the reality was that the Rebel Army had a huge advantage.
"Okay, so that's how it is." Feng Luo continued to observe and quickly understood the reason.
Apart from the 300 plus Three Tailed Split Shell Scorpions, in the forest where the North City players hid, there was also a Ninja who was fully clad in black that was constantly moving and popping up in one place before vanishing once more.
These ninjas who possessed melee combat ability comparable to one of the best Light Armor Warriors – Sword Ki Long River, as well as unbelievably peculiar skills, were a nightmare for glass cannon professions.
"The Rebel Army has the advantage. It is probably better if the North City players had the upper-hand… Since this main base is surrounded by monsters. If the Rebel Army were to control them, we'll probably also suffer defeat if we meet them."
"Why don't we think of a way to support North City? … " After hearing Fen Luo's explanation, Jing Kong pondered for a moment and asked.
However, before he could finish… "Beep, beep, beep!"
The Legendary-Grade recon meter he was holding suddenly sounded the warning alarm. At the same time, six flashing red lights appeared on the screen. All of them were closing in on their location from North City's location at high-speed.
"F*ck me! That's a micro missile! Take cover!" Shouted Jing Kong with wide eyes.
Their position was specifically chosen.
It was quite far away from the ambush location of the North City players and was outside the attack range of Manipulators and Machine Gunners.
Without Manipulators who could cast large area-of-effect attacks, they could easily hide within the ocean of flowers and observe the situation of the battle before deciding their next steps. If the situation made a turn for the worse, they could even retreat through this ocean of flowers and rendezvous with the main force.
However, the current situation was between the two sides fighting on the battlefield, the North City players were even at a disadvantage. However, for some weird or crazy reason, they took the effort and time to attack Feng Luo's group.
With the recon meter's function blocked, it was odd that they were able to pinpoint Feng Luo's group's position.
Jing Kong shouted to take cover. However, faced with a high-speed missile like this, where would you even find the time to hide.
Although the weapons of mechas had reduced damage to players, there were five missiles. Technically, it was still enough to easily obliterate any of the players.
Five micro-missiles landed, piercing the ground. Then, after a brief moment…
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Five balls of white energy instantly appeared above the battlefield along with dirt that scattered all around. After all five of the micro-missiles exploded, the center of the ocean of flowers area had several large black craters, around them were multiple glowing drops.
…
"Cough, cough! I almost died!"
Coughing sounds were heard in the dark environment.
Big Pineapple got up to his feet while holding his now distorted alloy shield, spitting out dirt that filled his mouth during the explosion.
"Hey! How many still alive? Cough and let us know!" Big Pineapple shouted as he shook his head, his ears still ringing.
"Cough, cough…"
More coughing sounds filled the dark environment. After a brief moment, a weak flare was used and eight human figures could be seen.
Among the 16 players, after the five micro-missiles explosions, only eight were left.
Two Heavy Armor Warriors (Big Pineapple, Douchebag); two Light Armor Warriors (Sword Ki Long River, Phoenix); three gunners (Jing Kong, Green Arrow, Feng Luo), and one manipulator (Zhao Yun).
Apart from Big Pineapple, there was another Heavy Armor Warrior – Douchebag. He wiped the dirt off his face and said with disbelief, "Motherf*cker! These North City people are really rich. To use five micro-missiles on just a dozen or so of us! It's a good thing there's this empty space beneath us. Otherwise, all of us would have probably died!"
"Why is there this empty space inside this ocean of flower?" Green Arrow asked with some lingering thoughts as she used a blood tonic on herself. She looked up at the hole above them, which had been covered by dirt again over 10-meters above them.
She was lucky, Jing Kong and her were both within the explosion range of the first missile. They fell into the hole the instant the explosion occurred. Although she still lost half her HP, she did not end up like the other gunners who died instantly from the consecutive missile explosions.
Five micro-missiles packed a powerful punch. Even if the damage dealt to players was reduced, if it were a direct hit, even Heavy Armor Warriors risked dying instantly.
However, the deep hole under the ocean of flowers saved their lives.
"It is less like an empty space and more like a tunnel." Jing Kong shot the flare and found out that the empty space was more like a tunnel.
As if he had remembered something suddenly, he turned around to speak to Frontline Command. "Old Front, I remember in the mission requirement, it says that parts of the main base are underground, right?"
However, he then remembered that Frontline Command, their trump card on the battlefield, had unfortunately been eliminated from the mission in the last round of missile attack.
"Do you mean?" Phoneix asked as her eyes sparkled. She looked towards the tunnel that did not seem to have an end.
"It is just a guess, there is no guarantee." Jing Kong answered.
"Did you get any detailed structural maps of the main base from the mission?" Feng Luo asked.
Jing Kong shook his head and said, "No, the mission information was incomplete. Otherwise, we would have prepared specific countermeasures against a lot of the monsters on the island and prevented the huge losses we suffered at the fourth base."
Big Pineapple finally came to his senses and understood the situation. "Hold on. Old Kong. Are you saying that this ocean of flower underground tunnel may lead directly to the main base?" He asked as he stared right at Jing Kong with an excited expression.

Chapter 619: Summon Beetles
"Theoretically speaking, this may be possible. The ocean of flowers surrounds the main base after all. For a tunnel-like this, it is obvious that it was constructed by humans." Green Arrow said as her eyes brightened up. She spoke after she turned on the light source on her recon meter and checked out the structure of the tunnel.
As one of the top-five Heavy Armor Warrior of Storm City, Douchebag spoke in a surprised and dazed way, "If it can bring us to the main base, doesn't that mean that we never had to go through the area around filled with monsters to enter the base? Holy f*ck, if we knew a shortcut like this earlier, he wouldn't have had to suffer all those losses back at those earlier branch bases."
Jing Kong answered with a bitter smile, "We did not have the structural map of the building. It's impossible to know that an underground tunnel which is more than seven or eight hundred meters outside the base would exist. Based on the normal mission procedure, we always need to clear the branch bases first before entering the main base. It's most likely a coincidence that we've arrived here."
Sword Ki Long River was, just like always, quiet during the group's discussion.
"Let's go. We can't go back up there right now anyway. It would be a good idea to explore this tunnel." Phoenix pointed above her head before picking up her alloy sword to head forward into the tunnel, towards the main base.
The tunnel was over 10 meters deep. The section above their heads that was blown up earlier was also covered in dirt and mud mixed with the roots of plants measuring a few meters thick. With the players' abilities, it would be quite difficult to break through it.
"Yeah, there's no point in going out anymore. We've done what needs to be done. Jing Kong, does the main base also have monsters?" Green Arrow agreed with Phoenix's point. With her recon meter on, she followed right behind her.
"It should be similar to the other branch bases. After all, the insides of these bases aren't optimal living environments for monsters. However, there might be mechanic guards there." Jing Kong answered uncertainly.
Concerning the idea of exploring the tunnel, no one objected to the suggestion.
While Feng Luo had a way to dig his way out of there, using the Commander-Grade Collector Beetle, he felt there was no need to do so as he was feeling quite expectant about getting to the main base through this tunnel.
As such, with extreme caution, everyone pulled out their weapons and walked along the dark and long underground tunnel.
As Jing Kong assessed, they did not encounter any monsters at the beginning of their trek. However, after walking around 100 meters, the group encountered an issue.
In their first turn since entering the tunnel, thick metallic railing appeared in front of them.
Green Arrow moved forward to investigate the metallic railing. She used her military knife and scratched at it before saying to the group, "The edge is completely rusted. The control program is also broken."
The railing was probably controlled by an AI lock system. However, at that time, the edge of the fence had merged with the tunnel. It had probably been abandoned for a long time and had not been used, so it was natural that it could not be opened due to lack of use and maintenance.
"Let me try." Phoenix volunteered and stepped forward, she was holding the translucent Legendary-Grade alloy sword Exquisite in her hands, she slashed powerfully at the metal railing.
"Clang!"
Sparks appeared around the metal railing as a crack appeared from the slash. However, the slash did not break the railing.
Exquisite had a B-Grade Destruction Coefficient, and yet it was still not able to cut through the metallic railing. It was evidence of the high quality of the material used to construct the railing.
"B-Grade Metal Defense Coefficient!" Jing Kong said while looking at the feedback information on his recon meter after her slash.
"Armor Breaking Slash!" Phoenix's brows furrowed together. After hearing that, a surge of power concentrated in the alloy sword she was holding, and then the blade of her sword descended upon the railing again.
"Ka!"
This time, after sparks appeared, one of the metal railings was cut in half by her blade.
"My Armor Breaking Slash is Expert Level, progress at 80%. I'll need around 10 minutes to create enough space for people to pass through," Phoenix said after turning around.
"Ka!"
Suddenly, a golden flash appeared.
Sword Ki Long River, who remained silent throughout, held his Legendary-Grade golden alloy sword in his hands after also using the Armor Breaking Slash, and cut through another one of the metal railings.
"Now, we only need five minutes," Phoenix said as she smiled brightly.
…
After around 30 minutes, with the combined effort of both the Light Armor Warriors and their Legendary-Grade alloy swords breaking through five metal railings, the group finally got another step closer to the main base.
"It looks like this tunnel is headed towards the main base." Everyone seemed to understand this by then. As they gained understanding, they could not help but become more excited and increased their pace.
However, by the time they reached the location supposedly right beneath the main base, they were left stunned once more.
"This is the last alloy door. Its thickness is over 50 centimeters, and the material is also a lot harder than the earlier metal railings." Jing Kong couldn't help but take a deep breath after he saw the data displayed on his recon meter.
This place, which was supposedly connecting the tunnel to the main base, did not have metal railings blocking the way. Instead, it was an over 30 centimeter thick alloy door that had a Defense Coefficient that was higher than the metal railing from before.
"Clang!"
"It's not working, the defense is too high," Phoenix said after she used a skill and cut at the alloy door. However, as she looked at the slash mark that was only half an inch deep, she frowned once again.
Although one slash was capable of creating a half-inch opening, it did not seem like it was going to be possible for them to break through that door.
It was not only in consideration of the cooldown period of the Armor Breaking Slash but most importantly, it was due to the accuracy of every single slash.
Just like cutting down trees, one hack from the ax may get one depth of around one-twentieth. However, this does not mean that the person would need only 20 hacks to cut down the tree.
Since the alloy door's surface was very smooth, there weren't any other angles where they could exert even more force. This meant that the force generated from the slash had decreased to a certain degree.
Besides, one also had to consider the cooldown period of the Armor Breaking Slash. If they wanted to rely on this method to break through the door, they would need to continue slashing the door for at least 10 hours.
However, it was obvious that they did not have time to wait for this.
"Even a Boss-Grade monster wouldn't be able to get through this door in a short amount of time. It looks like the system did not prepare a shortcut for us." The group looked disappointed.
"What do we do then? Why don't we re-trace our steps, go back, and see if there are any exits?" Jing Kong asked with a frown.
Feng Luo, who, like Sword Ki Long River, had not spoken ever since entering the tunnel, suddenly spoke. "Hold on, let me try first."
"You want to try?" Douchebag glanced at Feng Luo. Although he believed and trusted in Feng Luo's strength after their battle in the arena, he was still very doubtful.
While Snipers had amazing armor breaking abilities, theoretically, they were not stronger than an alloy sword paired with the Armor Breaking Slash skill. If Feng Luo were to break this door down, he would need at least 5,000 bullets. Otherwise, it would be impossible. Even if he did not take into account the number of bullets, the rifle itself would also be damaged due to overheating and overuse.
Regardless, the main issue was which sniper would ever bring so many bullets with him?
However, since Feng Luo volunteered, the others simply backed down and observed.
In particular, Phoenix and Big Pineapple seemed to already know that Feng Luo had something up his sleeve.
After everyone retreated a certain distance, a black hole appeared on the ground right in front of the door, and a shadow started to emerge from within.
"It's summoning that type of beetle." Apart from Phoenix and Big Pineapple, the others from the tactical squad had also seen Feng Luo summon the Bladed Beetles before. As such, when they saw the black hole, they naturally thought that was what was happening.
However, Jing Kong and the others were still doubtful. While the scythe-like blades and the tails of the Bladed Beetles were very sharp, as displayed in their previous battles, to cut through that alloy door… It should still technically impossible.
However, by the time the first beetle crawled out of the wormhole and when they saw the green shell and appearance of the beetle which was completely different from the Bladed Beetle, they instantly understood.
24K did not "summon" the Bladed Beetle which they have seen before.
It was not the Scout Beetle that usually hid in the sky, which only Jing Kong saw before from afar through a Legendary-Grade item.
However, at that moment, Jing Kong and the others suddenly had another question on their mind…
"Spray Beetle. Level-42 Elite-Grade creature… It is a new type of beetle. Just how many types of beetles can his pet summon?"
However, Jing Kong and the others had a new question on their mind.

Chapter 620: The Shock 24K Created
"Hm? Wait… this one is Elite-Grade."
Other than having some doubts about its appearance, as it had a brain that looked like a snake growing insect-like legs which looked like a jet beetle.
Some people also noticed that the one which came out of the black hole was an Elite-Grade monster.
With 24K's summoning ability, it naturally attracted many participating player's attention.
This was especially when everyone's goal upon reaching the island was for the Quasi-Boss pet Chips.
A pet that had abnormal powers to summon wild creatures had received quite a lot of attention.
However, due to the ten Blade Beetles that Feng Luo summoned from before, they were all Commander-Grade monsters. Although their levels were not low, they are Commander-Grade monsters where, in reality, their combat powers were not very powerful.
After evaluation, a lot of people thought that, without considering 24K's reconnaissance capability, its combat power should be at the level of a Commander-Grade pet.
Although they were curious about 24K's mystical summoning ability, they did not observe its detailed attributes.
Even so, a pet with combat strength at Commander-Grade, for players of their caliber, it would not make them super envious.
However, upon discovering that 24K's summoning of another new monster, it was still Elite-Grade.
Other than Feng Luo and Big Pineapple, it caught most of their attention.
That was because, in theory, a Commander-Grade pet's combat strength was comparable to an Elite-Grade wild creature. However, this Jet Beetle was a social monster, hence its strength would be weaker, but even then, it was still an Elite-Grade monster.
"Since it was able to summon those ten Blade Beetles, then for these Elite-Grade Jet Beetles, how many can it summon?" Green Arrow asked as she stared at the black hole on the ground.
However, what made her surprised was, other than that Elite-Grade Jet Beetle which crawled out from that black hole, there were no other beetles that crawled out.
"Could it be because of the wild monster being Elite-Grade, then it was only able to summon one. That way, why not just summon ten Commander-Grade monsters, wouldn't that be more useful?" However, she knew she guessed wrong right after.
The reason only one was summoned was that Feng Luo simply just wanted to test it.
After the first Elite-Grade Jet Beetle came out, it quickly raised its neck and faced that alloyed door, and spat out a trail of green "saliva."
"Psh!"
After the saliva of the Jet Beetle hit the alloyed door, it immediately started a reaction.
With the naked eye, you could tell the position at which the alloyed door was hit by the saliva, where it gave off huge, thick bubbles and white smoke, as it formed corroded traces.
As the saliva flowed down due to gravity, and the area of corrosion expanded exponentially.
The Jet Beetle's strong toxic and corrosive abilities, no matter whether it was Armored or Energy Shield, it would be able to corrode. This alloy door was sturdy in its material, but against this corrosive toxic attack, it did not have enough resistance.
"There is an effect, however, because this door was too thick the amount of toxic saliva it required to corrode the door is not estimated to be this low." Clear Sky's face had some joy, then he turned and looked at Feng Luo as his tone carried some inquiry.
The effect of Jet Beetle's saliva was indeed not bad.
However, from the body area of this Level-42 Elite-Grade Jet Beetle, at most, it could only spit a few more times before its saliva runs out. If they want to break down this door, they would need a lot more Jet Beetles.
"Tsk!"
Feng Luo did not say anything, he only gave a signal to the 24K on his shoulder, the black hole on the ground formed a green shadow once again.
"Another Elite-Grade Jet Beetle, it could continue summoning." Green Arrow looked at this new Level-39 Elite-Grade Jet Beetle appearing, as she thought to herself.
However, following that, her eyes widened.
After the second Jet Beetle appeared, the Jet Beetles crawling out of the black hole did not cease, but instead, more Jet Beetles continued crawling out.
One beetle, two beetles, three beetles…
When the number of the Elite Grade Jet Beetles reached five, other than Big Pineapple and Feng Luo, the other five people were surprised yet again.
This was because, in theory, these five Elite-Grade monsters, even if it was a social monster, its combat strength would still be comparable to at least one Commander-Grade pet.
Compared to the combat style of a common Commander-Grade pet, being able to summon beetles with different features, 24K's practicality was a lot higher.
Just based on this point, 24K was already superior to the majority of the Commander-Grade pets.
Most importantly, the green shadows which were crawling out of the black hole did not cease.
Six beetles, seven beetles, eight beetles…
After one minute, there were 15 Jet Beetles, as they lined up in front of the alloyed door, they split towards the door vigorously.
Trails of green liquid, as it flowed down the alloy door, the door was quickly corroded, which was originally unbreakable.
Upon seeing 15 beetles, which were lining up and spiting their saliva onto the door, the other five people, other than Sword Ki Long River, who was naturally quiet, suddenly did not want to say anything anymore.
15 wild monsters which averaged out to Level-40, and despite half of which were Commander-Grade monsters.
Purely based on combat strength, it has completely exceeded Commander-Grade pets, they could be considered as a Quasi-Boss Grade pet.
However, quickly afterward, they then discovered that they would also need to remove that possibility afterward.
After three minutes of the 15 Jet Beetles spitting, the first Jet Beetle's belly sac, which stored the toxin, was completely empty.
At this moment, the thick alloyed door was already corroded by one third.
The first Jet Beetle, after finishing using all of its saliva, turned and crawled back into its black hole. After a few seconds, a new Elite-Grade Jet Beetle with a full stomach re-crawled out of the black hole.
"In that summoned hole, they can refill their toxins?"
"No, this beetle's level and the first's are not the same… it could change its summons in the middle of combat?"
The people who initially thought that this Jet Beetle was the same as the one which crawled back in, after noticing the level of this beetle, gained a message which made them feel bittersweetness.
Only 15 social monsters, based on combat strength, might only exceed Commander-Grade monsters and still not reach a Quasi-Boss Grade pet.
If they add this beetle, which was exchanged in the middle of the battle, then wouldn't it be comparable to the combat strength of a Quasi-Boss.
A Quasi-Boss pet? How many of these can they find during the entire wartime?
At this moment, other than the guild, isn't everyone coming for the Quasi-Boss pet Chips?
As for Boss-Grade Chips, whether there were any in these wastelands, it was still an unknown number.
After the first Elite-Grade Jet Beetle changed shift, the second and third ones followed right after.
After the 15 Elite-Grade Jet Beetles from the first wave emptied their stomachs, the black hole did not have any new Jet Beetles crawling out to "switch shifts" with them.
That was because, at this moment, the alloy door was already corroded by two thirds. Upon calculation, they did not require any more Jet Beetles.
…
After spending around half an hour, where two waves of Jet Beetles finished all of their stored toxins.
This final alloy door blocking the way into the main research base, under the detection of the Scouts, was finally corroded down to a thin layer.
"Click!"
Sword Ki Long River walked directly in front, as the golden legendary alloy sword swung, directly breaking through the now thin door, creating an entrance.
He shook his hands, retracted the blade, and slashed again.
Quickly, a hole in this door opened which was sufficient for an entire person to pass through.
"Tick!"
However, after this alloy door completely opened, in the complete darkness within the base, a pair of red dots were aggressively flashing.
"Intruder discovered, intruder discovered, recognizing identity, it belongs to people who don't have access permission! Warning! Intruder, leave NG-164 Research Base Scope in ten seconds, or else they will be given armed deportation. Warning…"
At the same time, a series of machinery noises started to ring.

Chapter 621: Spider Machinery Guards
Behind the opened alloy door, there was a full-body figure in the shadows, with only its fighting machinery and its pair of red eyes revealed, as it continuously repeated its warning sentences to the group of people.
"JZ-60 Spider Mechanical Guard, Level-60, Elite-Grade, 23% energy remaining, the core of energy and calculation are at the position where the head and chest are connected." Jing Kong used a Scout skill as he slightly retreated behind the four warrior classes. At the same time, he raised his submarine gun in the direction of the cave.
He did say this accurately, there were indeed mechanical guards in the ruins, they just did not know how many were hiding in the shadows.
"Warning, an intruder, retreat within ten seconds…"
"Tock, tick, tock…"
The warnings of the Spider Mechanical Guards continued, but Green Arrow had already shot a shuttle bullet onto its body.
Everyone's goal was the main research base, so why would they retreat? Not to mention, it was only an Elite-Grade enemy.
"Receiving attacks from the intruders, requesting for a decision from the main brain… connection failed… following the second protocol, launch counterattacks!" After being attacked, the combat machinery's pair of red eyes flashed aggressively.
After swiftly speaking in a series of electronic tones, its whole body moving quickly, as it was exposed under the clear lighting of the team.
This machine had a design that was similar to a spider, as it was a combat machine that had eight large legs which were longer than two meters. However at the end of its alloyed legs were not shoes, but instead, some blades were able to swiftly spin.
…
"Thud!"
After ten seconds, when Feng Luo shot the operating core of this Level 60 Spider Machinery Guard's chest, the Spider Machinery which only had three short legs fell to the ground and could not move.
[You have killed the JZ-60 Spider Machinery Guard (Level-60, Elite-Grade), contribution portion of the kill 25.2%, experience gained…]
Being a piece of Level-60 Elite-Grade combat machinery, this spider's combat strength was stronger than the T-750.
However, with the capabilities of the players' infield, it was far stronger than the T-750 which Feng Luo had defeated before.
Not only did the players have at least two pieces of legendary equipment, but they were also attacking the machinery eight to one. Of course, they couldn't expend so much effort.
Of course, saying that there were more people than the machinery was impossible.
"Eliminate intruder! Eliminate intruder!" After finishing off this Spider Machinery guard, there were two Spider Machineries of similar design that charged out from the darkness.
…
"Bang!"
"Rumble, rumble…"
"Da, da, da…"
This battle at the entrance of the alloy door continued for around five minutes.
After killing the tenth Level-60 Elite Spider Machinery, this entrance battle had concluded.
"Feels like the difficulty isn't so high, we should have a chance to explore deeper areas." After crossing through the corroded hole and into the alloy door, and looking over at the Spider Machinery guards which lost their mobility, Green Arrow, who was holding a complete Legendary-Grade submachine gun which was provided by the Nine Star Guild, was shining the surroundings of the tunnel with his lighting tools.
"Mainly it was because everyone's equipment was sufficient, if the equipment were lacking, then this would be a different situation." Jing Kong said as he picked up the loot which came out of the Spider Machinery, discovering that it was of not much use and threw it back into his bag.
In theory, Machine type monsters' combat strength would be stronger than live monsters which had the same levels, as they did not have health points.
However, if the players' equipment was good enough, these machine type monsters were easier to deal with. That was because they had a definite fatal spot, once it was destroyed, it would lose its combat strength.
If their equipment was not good enough, where the damage values being unable to destroy the defenses covering the core, the difficulty would naturally be a lot higher. For these eight players who had at least two pieces of Legendary-Grade equipment, it would be a lot simpler.
Of course, for players with poor equipment, they could clear the ruins as well.
Like these combat machinery guards in the ruins, they are hiding the "residual energy" within them.
This refers to the residual energy in the energy core which passed from the long term hibernation over these years, and after waking up from encountering intruders.
This residual energy would not usually be very high, but these machinery guards spent a serious amount of it during combat, under the circumstances of being unable to destroy their cores, thinking of ways to make them expend all of their energy is also another way.
Under the use of the lighting tools, the group's vision was finally completely brightened.
This was a room with a height of nearly ten meters. What was different was that it had a lot of tunnels from the room leading to different directions.
"After this, which direction to follow?" Big Pineapple and Villain, carrying some broken shields which were drilled by the Spider Machinery Guards during the battle, asked while looking at those few tunnels.
"Wait just a minute, let me see if I can find a map." Green Arrow replied as she walked towards the shattered Spider Machinery on the ground, as she took out an instrument from her bag.
For a player, obtaining a map of the ruins was not difficult, that was because in the stored chips in the combat machinery guards in the ruins, they always have the ruins map in them.
Of course, the precision and the retrieving speeds of finding the map depends on the player's chip master level.
"Yes, I found it!" After around two minutes, Green Arrow stood up, in the instrument in her hand, there was a three-dimensional map of the core base.
Many Scout players would learn some chip master skills by habit because it was a must-have profession for entering the ruins. Being able to obtain a detailed map in such a short time, Green Arrow's profession level must have been at least advanced.
"Mm, from the message obtained, the most important location in the base is here, its degree of importance is at its highest." Green Arrow stretched out her hand, as she enlarged an area at the center position on the map.
"Is this the position of the Boss Chip?" Big Pineapple's eyes lit up as he asked.
"I don't know, these machinery guards did not store this type of message. However, by right, the possibility is high. Even if it is not Boss Chips, it is most likely to be equipment that Jing Kong and you all will need." Green Arrow gave Jing Kong and Sword Ki Long River a look. "However, I have to remind everyone. In this base, there are a total of three hundred Spider Machinery Guards, and all of them are Level-60 Elites." Upon finishing the sentence, her face changed a little.
"Three hundred?" After hearing this statement, everyone's face naturally changed a little.
One Level-60 Elite does not count as anything against this small team.
But five of these Level-60 Elites would already be a threat, and if there were three hundred… This is a machine-type creature, even for a Manipulator, it was impossible to instantly kill them.
"Although this base did not have restrictions on signals like the outside world, my Legendary Scouting instrument should be able to intercept the signals they send out. If I take note to prevent it from passing the message to its companions, then we would only need to defeat at most ten machinery guards at a time." Jing Kong said.
"This way, the danger would be a lot smaller. It's worth a try." Upon hearing this, other than Feng Luo and Sword Ki Long River, everyone had a face filled with joy.
"The problem with the machinery guards is solved. However, under this situation in which the main brain is being fully hibernated or destroyed, to be able to destroy and open these doors in the middle of the journey, we need to use violence." Green Arrow pointed at the three-dimensional map, from their current location to that important region, the journey had at least ten plus alloy doors.
"Mr. Feng, what are your intentions?" To break open these alloy doors, having the Jet Beetles is a must.
Not to mention, other than corroding the alloy doors, the ten Spider Machinery Guards which are on the ground of the base, a huge majority of their composition also had traces of corrosion.
In the battle just now, the ten plus Jet Beetles also had huge credit.
"It's possible." Feng Luo nodded.

Chapter 622: Boss Level Chip
"Bang!"
A Level 60 Elite Level Spider Machinery Guard was hit by an armor-piercing bullet on the spot connecting its head and chest.
Having a large caliber B-Grade armor-piercing bullet, it will penetrate the alloy armor directly of more than five centimeters before reaching the core, with the high temperature generated from its impact, causing its core chip to melt into a coke liquid state.
"Expel… Intruder…"
The eight long alloy legs of the Spider Machinery vibrated a little more on the ground, before the red light on its pair of eyes extinguished completely.
"It's here, the most important region of the base is right behind this door." Green Arrow looked at the three-dimensional map which was floating on the terminal, as she pointed at an alloy door at the end of the tunnel ahead.
At the moment, it was more than half an hour since they entered the main research base, the team of eight people finally reached the important region signaled by the ruins map.
As to why they spent so much time, it was due to the same sturdy alloy doors. Despite it not being as disgustingly strong like the one before, they still needed to rely on those Jet Beetles.
Although the Jet Beetles were able to corrode away these doors, it required large amounts of toxins, and being wild creatures, these toxins were not able to regenerate immediately.
Hence, most of the time was spent on the Jet Beetles regeneration of the toxins.
On the contrary, under the effect of Jing Kong's Scouting skills, there was not much threat whenever a Spider Machinery was activated and rushed forward.
Of course, the 20 Level 60 Elite Grade Spider Machinery Guards in front of this final region would cause the party a little trouble.
Only needing to rely on a body full of Legendary Grade equipment, they were able to successfully finish off all of them.
"Psst!"
Following the procedure from before, 24K commanded all the Jet Beetles to start working and destroy this final door which had a thickness which was comparable to the first alloy door.
"It is the Chip preparation base!" Entering the hole in the door which was broken open, and lighting up this position in the main research base with the lighting tools, there was evident joy on Jing Kong's face.
For the Nine Star guild, the importance of the Chip preparation base depended on the Boss Chip, because this was the difference between fishing and the fish.
"Wow f*ck, there are so many pieces of equipment. We have so few people, we are definitely unable to store all of these in our backpacks!" Everyone, upon entering the hole in the entrance, discovered that this was an enormous experimentation lab.
There were several different types of instruments, and because this room was so tightly sealed to the point that there was no dust, all of the instruments were preserved perfectly.
However, Big Pineapple thought of an issue, as he spoke. "Most of the equipment here is just conventional additional equipment, which is not important. We just need to move some of the core equipment back, and then move some of the manufacturing data, and it should be sufficient."
Jing Kong, at this moment, was walking in front of a terminal-like instrument with a face full of joy.
Retrieving some instruments from his bag and inserting them on top, he swiftly proceeded with the hacking and the awakening of the equipment.
"The manufacturing equipment is here, but where is the Boss Chip?" However, in comparison to the two people in the Nine Star Guild.
On the contrary, the rest of the people were clearly more concerned with whether there was even a Boss Chip, and if there was, then would it be in this experimentation lab?
Other than Sword Ki Long River and Jing Kong getting down onto those instruments, the rest of the people were swiftly searching around this experimentation lab.
"Boss Chip ah, Boss Chip…" Big Pineapple was mumbling, as he continuously ransacked the surroundings of every instrument.
"I found it, it's here!" However, before Big Pineapple even spun a few rounds, Green Arrow's voice had already sounded out.
For other people, it was definitely more difficult to find the Boss Chip, but for Green Arrow who had traits which were gained after obtaining some Scout skills, she had odds far higher than the average.
The six people quickly gathered as they discovered the roughly two meters high, transparent safe box.
In the middle of this box, there was a biochip supported by some brackets, which was in a silver liquid state.
"Green Arrow, are you sure?" Big Pineapple's breathing became hurried, as he asked Green Arrow.
"I'm sure, this is it." Green Arrow confidently nodded.
"Then quickly retrieve it!" Evil Goon was a little impatient, as he reached forward, wanting to open this safe box's door, but after observing around this transparent box. "Wow f*ck, it is actually a complete body, there are no gaps at all!"
It was obvious that there was no conventional way of retrieving this thing, hence there was only a means left.
"Crack it with violence!"
"Clank!"
Phoenix, with her Ling Long sword, struck the safe box with its armor-piercing skill fiercely.
However, what happened to the safe box was only some light scratches.
"Feng, we need to rely on you." Phoenix turned to look at Feng Luo, as she spoke while giving a wink.
"Everyone give some space." Feng Luo patted 24K, as from the black hole on the ground, an Elite Grade Jet Beetle had appeared, and following the several procedures from before, it spat a mouth full of toxin towards this safe box.
"Oh? The toxin actually had no effect." However, what surprised everyone was that the saliva that was never disadvantageous, actually had no effect this time.
"This can't be! What do we do now?"
The Chip that countless players were expecting, the "first" Boss Chip was only a meter away and right in front of them, but was hindered by this box in the end.
"Why not, Feng you let this pet retreat, let me try using some skills to crack it." Zhao Yun rolled his eyes as he thought of an idea.
"No, let me try again." Feng Luo shook his head, as he stared at this safe box and thought of it for a while, as he used his mind link with 24K to send a message.
Under the doubtful sights from the other people, the black hole on the ground suddenly expanded a full circle, as a green shell revealed from it.
After a few seconds, an extraordinarily tall Jet Beetle, sufficiently bigger than a Level 45 Elite Grade Jet Beetle by over two times, with its body covered with pale green nails, crawled out.
"Di, di!"
At the moment when this Jet Beetle appeared, the Scouting instrument in Green Arrow's hands sounded off a soft warning alarm.
They need not mention more, all the players were familiar with this sound.
"Wow, this is… actually a Commander Grade Jet Beetle!"
"This pet was actually capable of summoning Commander Grade creatures!"
Not only Green Arrow and Zhao Yun were surprised yet again, but even Big Pineapple and Phoenix, who knew about 24K capabilities, were completely surprised.
That was because Feng Luo gained this Beetle Army, and owning five whole Commander Grade beetles, was not mentioned to them yet.

Chapter 623: Super Crisis
"The corrosion is obviously stronger. However, its effect is still not that effective." However, even if the corrosive ability of the toxin was a lot stronger, where it was able to swiftly corrode a layer of the ground, the toxin that the Commander Grade Jet Beetle spat out had not much effect against this safe box which was containing the Boss level Chip.
It was very evident that this texture had strong resistance against the toxin of the Jet Beetle.
"Call the steel one." However, although the Commander Grade Jet Beetle failed as well, the face of Feng Luo did not have much change.
Instead, he spiritually linked with 24K again as he gave it another command.
This time, the black hole expanded yet again, and it even expanded a lot more times.
Following that, a nearing 4-meters tall, immense and enormous black shadow slowly crawled out from inside.
"Yet another Commander Grade beetle, and this was a new type of beetle." Upon observing the second alarm from the Scouting instrument and the attributes of this large black beetle.
Green Arrow, Douchebag, and Zhao Yun had completely transferred their sights on what was on Feng Luo's shoulder, 24K, which was chewing on a blue sapphire.
What Grade was this creature which looked like an ornament pet? It could even summon a Commander Grade wild creature, and was it not limited to only one creature?
There was already a prediction inside the minds of the three people. However, they thought the prediction was a little impossible.
"Psst, psst!"
Just when the faces of the three people were still unsure, the slow Steel Beetle had finally crawled out of the black hole. "Steel one" was already putting its aim on the safe box right in front of it, as its pair of eyes shot out exactly two trails of white beams.
"Zap!"
The two beams which suggested large energy, had shot onto the texture of that translucent safe box, and initially, there was not much change.
But soon after, that half-transparent colour darkened into pale yellow, then orange, then became red for a few seconds, and even afterwards, it slowly became black.
"There's an effect!" The other five people looked at each other for a while, as they transferred their focus from 24K to this safe box.
The texture of this safe box was really unique, even such a high energy beam needed a full 10 seconds to completely change its colour.
They were lucky that a Commander Grade creature such as "Steel one" was able to persist longer than the Jet Beetles of the same type.
The first beam lasted for a full minute before fading, and on the safe box, there were two 20 centimetres long black marks on its surface.
Following that, after resting for around five minutes, "Steel One" activated its beam mode, as it followed a different direction from the two marks made from before, as it grilled another two trails of burnt traces.
…
After ten minutes, the new set of trails of burnt marks combined with the previous two trails of burnt marks.
Following a "click" sound, this safe box, which was unable to be opened by legendary equipment or corrosive toxins, was finally overcome.
"The Boss Chip!" Feng Luo reached out, as he retrieved the Boss Chip which was longed by many throughout War.
["Second-generation creature chip (Model; CP-S1), Grade: Highest. Scope of application: LOB-1XXXX creatures."]
Observing how the color of this chip was different from the Quasi-Boss Chip he had, with its attributes coloured in orange, Feng Luo was not doubtful of the grade of this chip at all.
The Quasi-Boss Chip's grade was high, but this Chip's grade was the highest, as it was a tier higher and the pets that were able to control this Chip would naturally be a tier higher as well.
"However, if I remember correctly, 24K's Chip should be the highest in the third-generation, and its attribute was not orange but purple…" Feng Luo suddenly thought of something in his mind.
"Old Feng, how are the attributes, let me see!" After Feng Luo retrieved the Chip, Big Pineapple was already feeling a little impatient, as he blurted out hurriedly, as he saw Feng Luo stunned.
"Beep, beep, beep…"
However, at this moment, suddenly, the safe box, which did not look to have any suspicion, echoed a series of high pitched chirping sounds, after the Boss Chip was retrieved out.
"What is going on?" The party immediately retreated a few steps, as they were afraid this safe box might have a self-destruction mechanism.
However, after waiting for a full ten seconds, the safe box still remained as it was, and it did not have any changes.
"Tick, tick… Tock, tock…"
However, the sound it made, had mixed in a few new sounds.
"Wait, no, the new sounds are not from within the safe box!" Feng Luo's face suddenly changed, as he aggressively lifted his head and looked outside the experimentation lab, outside the hole that they broke open.
"Oh no!" Green Arrow also reacted, as she threw a Scouting skill over. In an instant, her Scouting instrument showed a yellow dot which signified massive amounts of enemies which were approaching.
"There are several Spider Machinery Guards moving over, I suspect, the remaining Spider Machinery Guards of this entire base are all moving over!" Following that, her face changed drastically as she proclaimed.
"It might be due to the Boss Chip or Jing Kong's group retrieving the information of the core." Feng Luo quickly made the deduction.
"Quick, prepare to break through." With the Wings of Death in his hands, he quickly switched to free shooting mode, as its two new magazines had been directly replaced.
"No… We still require five more minutes!" In front of that device, Jing Kong's forehead broke into large amounts of cold sweat as he shouted at the top of his voice.
"Then prepare to defend!" Feng Luo inhaled, as his muzzle aimed at the position of the entrance.
At that moment, that alloy door that they entered through that seemed unbreakable, suddenly retracted into the wall like petals.
The entire experimentation lab was completely exposed to outside the lab, and to the pairs of red eyes of the Level 60 Spider Machinery Guards which were swiftly approaching in the darkness.
One, five… ten… thirty…
In their line of vision, the pairs of red eyes were already connected together, as they looked like the wolf pack encountering a camp in the wilderness.
The Spider Machinery Guards were only Level 60 Elite combat machinery, if there were only ten or fewer, for this party, they could take them down without any losses.
If there were more than ten, then there might be some danger, but now…
If there were only eight players like them, it was simply impossible to be able to survive under the attack of nearly 200 Level 60 Elite combat machinery remaining in the entire base.
However, in reality, the ones fighting here were not only the present eight players, there were pets as well.
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"
On the shoulder of Feng Luo, the small claws of 24K were waving about, as it quickly swallowed that phantom crystal that it was slowly chewing on from before, after taking a huge bite.

Chapter 624: Beetle VS Spider Machinery
After 24K swallowed the phantom crystal, the black hole in front of the safe box disappeared. Following that, a completely new black hole appeared beside the completely open alloy door.
An exceeding 3-meter tall Elite Steel Beetle crawled out, as its six joints supported its body which was likened to a tank, as its eyes shot out two rays of laser beams.
"Tsk, tsk!"
The two rays of high energy laser hit onto the body of a Spider Machinery Guard which was charging over with high speed as the position it was hit quickly reddened as it rose in temperature, where it even had traces of corrosion.
"Chuckle, tinkle, tinkle!"
However, Spider Machinery Guards were not ones to be underestimated.
This type of Level 60 Elite Spider Machinery had super scary destruction capabilities.
A Spider Machinery Guard that ran right in front had collided into the first Elite Steel Beetle which crawled out of the black hole, four of its eight alloyed legs stabbed into the body of the Steel Beetle.
The protective armor of the Elite Steel Beetle, which was even impenetrable by machine-gun bullets, was penetrated after resisting a few seconds under these black high-speed rotational drills.
Following that, by the penetrated alloy drills, its fragile internet brain and stomach were directly crushed.
"Tsk!"
However, before this Spider Machinery Guard was able to retract its drills from within, a ray which was brighter than Elite Steel Beetle's ray, hit it at its chest position.
Other than it instantly causing powerful burning damage, but after maintaining it for another two seconds, it completely grilled and exploded the operating chip from within the chest of this Spider Machinery Guard as it looked like it was melted by that bullet.
The Commander Grade Steel Beetle had already crawled out of the tunnel at its fastest speed.
"Tsk!"
What greeted it was five Spider Machinery Guards with a bunch of high-speed rotating drills in the air. But this Commander Grade Steel Beetle still stayed and used its beams to attack, not dodging at all.
However, just before those black drills were about to land onto the body of the Commander Grade Steel Beetle, a ray of muddy-yellow "shell" appeared.
An energy shield.
Compared to common Steel Beetles, which could only use the energy to use as its shield, or the Elite Grade Steel Beetles which could use its energy as a long-range attack but only able to maintain it for a short period of time. The biggest qualitative change of the Commander Grade Steel Beetle was that it had an energy shield and it was a super energy shield that was "disgusting" like its carapace.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk…"
Over 20 machinery drills collided onto the energy shield at the same time, but the defense value of the energy shield only reduced by a fifth of its total value.
"Puff!"
Instead, it was the five Spider Machinery Guards, whose body was spat by a big wave of green liquid from the sky, Commander Grade Jet Beetles.
With the strong negative aspects of the toxin spat by the Commander Grade Jet Beetles, Feng Luo also reserved the Commander Grade Jet Beetles and did not utilize them from before to use their toxins to break through the door, but now, they found their first targets.
"Eliminate… Eliminate…"
In an instant, after they were hit by the toxin, the armor and legs of the Spider Machinery Guards and some of its more sensitive parts swiftly had bubbles and white smoke appearing from corrosion.
Although this type of venom was slow to effect and was ineffective against machinery, that strong corrosive nature of the toxin was definitely the counter against these smaller models of combat machinery.
After being hit, the Spider Machinery Guards that were charging from every direction outside the main base stopped halfway after its legs broke with a "click" sound, some even had its parts fall off.
However, even though it was the Jet Beetles continuously spitting saliva, the majority would not win if they came directly from the front.
The alloyed door into the experimentation lab was over five meters wide, this would allow a few tens of Spider Machinery Guards to rush in at one time. In an experimentation lab where instruments were everywhere, it was understandable that the highly sensitive Spider Machinery Guards' could only come in waves to a certain extent.
"Thank god there is 24K, they are unable to all charge in at a time!" Feng Luo could not help but blurt out.
The reason why Feng Luo said that was because of the five Elite Steel Beetles which just crawled out from that black hole, with coordination with the Commander Grade Steel Beetle's huge body, was able to block a huge half of that wide space opened up by that opened alloy door.
With the blockage of the Steel Beetle, the passage which would allow over twenty Spider Machinery Guards to rush over at one time became a small path that would only allow at most five or six Spider Machinery Guards at one given time.
Also, even for those which were killed by the drills of the Spider Machinery Guards, the Elite Grade Steel Beetles which became obstacles would not disappear because they were wild creatures, their corpses would remain on the field even after death.
At the cost of its body and life, the Steel Beetles stubbornly became a fortification for the party.
At the same time, the beetle types that were crawling out of that wormhole did not stop.
"Puff, puff, puff…"
More than 20 Elite Grade Jet Beetles which quickly regenerated charged out, and spat saliva at the Spider Machinery Guards which was trying way to crawl over the Steel Beetles.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk!"
Some dark red, sickle-carrying Blade Beetles also crawled out following them.
Following that, these Blade Beetles directly charged into those Spider Machinery Guards and entangled a few Spider Machinery Guards together with its tail and six limbs. Afterward, it used its pair of large sickles and swiftly chop at the Spider Machinery Guards.
"Eliminate…" The Spider Machinery Guards which was entangled, sounded off some electronic sounds, before using their alloy drills to drill into the bodies of those Blade Beetles.
"Tsk!"
However, just when the drills wanted to retract to defend, these drills stopped at a position less than one centimeter away from the surface of the Blade Beetle, as if they drilled into something and could not cross, the Mass Phantom Shield.
…
"One, two, over thirty Elite Grade creatures, adding another two Commander Grade creatures. Additionally, there's another new model, Assassin type Combat Beetle." While shooting at those Spider Machinery Guards with his submachine gun, Green Arrow had not stopped observing Feng Luo.
After confirming the number of beetles which appeared on her Scouting instruments, Green Arrow had been a little calm, but then became jumpy yet again.
She thought it was the end after it was able to summon two Commander Grade creatures, but only now she discovered, that was not all.
"After summoning two Commander Grade creatures, it was still able to summon several more Elite Grade creatures. Better still, this might not even be its limit. This combat strength had completely surpassed one of a Quasi-Boss pet! This pet is most probably a Boss grade pet!"

"Tsk, tsk!"
On Feng Luo's shoulder, 24K's mouth had completely chewed the first psionics crystal. Almost immediately, it nimbly retrieved another crystal from Feng Luo's combat pack and held it in its mouth.
2
With the psionics crystal providing the resources for 24K to consume, Feng Luo could be said to be one of the "big dogs," as he had utilized the "Zerg Blast" spell until the end.
However, the fourth type to burst was not an attacking troop type.
That was because two Spider Machinery Guards were breaking through the energy shield built from the players and the beetles, directly charging towards Jing Kong who was retrieving data from his recon meter.
"Whoosh!"
Over a hundred energy beetles flew out from that black hole and formed into a closed energy shield, covering the entire area, with Jing Kong along with that instrument in it.
1
"Wow f*ck, an energy shield? He even has this!" Zhao Yun, who just put on an energy shield on himself, blurted out with a face of surprise and "envy with jealously."
…
With all four conventional combat type beetles present, the situation which was originally extremely dangerous was halfway solved by 24K alone.
With the Steel Beetles forming the "fortifications," the players only needed to hide at the back, while constantly using long-range attacks coupled with the Jet Beetles and Blade Beetles to destroy those Spider Machinery Guards which are trying means to charge forward.
Of course, under such circumstances, there would be issues because, in this team, those who had professions with long-range attacks, were only Feng Luo, Zhao Yun, and Green Arrow. Jing Kong was unable to participate in combat.
Hence, those Spider Machinery Guards were unable to be eliminated immediately one by one, and a huge crowd of them would charge into the experimentation lab, with only a few combating players needed to eliminate them.
If it was only a few of them, then naturally there would be no issue, however, over time, there were over ten Spider Machinery Guards in the experimentation lab attacking with their dancing drills. In the base, there were nearing two hundred Spider Machinery Guards still waiting.
Luckily, in this small team of eight people, 24K was not the only Boss-Grade pet.
"Jelly!"
Jelly, which was beside Phoenix, was fed a wind-system crystal.
After finally consuming the Commander-Grade energy crystal, it immediately activated its "Runaway Battery" model.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
Enormous pale green wind blades were flying towards the Spider Machinery Guards.
Liken to consecutively shot out energy cannons, the wind blades that hit the metal carapace and the legs of the Spider Machinery Guards would leave a deep slash, some even directly corroding some parts of it.
"Jie!" With a howling eagle cry, Jing Kong also called out for his Commander-Grade pet.
Although it was an Elite-Grade flying pet, its combat effectiveness in this room was not very great, but it would still increase the allied strength by a little.
This was a battle with no way to retreat because if they died, they would lose all of their accumulated loot.
If they were unable to win, then they would forsake all of the efforts they have put in from before this moment.
…
"Boom!"
After a full 20 minutes, after the final combat bullet exploded the last Spider Machinery Guard apart, which only had four legs remaining that was trying to squeeze past the corpses of its allies, this battle was announced to be finally over.
"Wow…we…won?" Douchebag was panting frantically his mouth open, as his face had an expression that suggested that he did not believe what was happening.
Looking around at the different types of corpses of the Spider Machinery Guards, and the white shining loot that was making the whole experimentation lab glowing. They were a team of only eight players facing two hundred Level-60 Elite-Grade Machinery creatures.
In the end, the team was victorious, and it was under the condition where no one died in battle; a feat that was a little too unbelievable.
Of course, after being emotional and thinking back, everyone understood why they were able to win in the end.
Other than the two people, Jing Kong and Big Pineapple who were defending in front of the instrument, the other four people were all putting their attention on 24K who was lying down and chewing on the energy crystal on Feng Luo's shoulder.
"This battle was won all thanks to the pets!" Douchebag could not hold back his excitement anymore and blurted out his praise to the pets.
"Old Feng? Is your pet…" Zhao Yun could not resist anymore either and asked blatantly.
"Yes," Feng Luo nodded.
"D*mn…" Even Zhao Yun, who was a star player who prioritized self-image in front of strangers, could not resist but blurt out some profanities.
"It is finally done!" However, before he continued to ask about something, Jing Kong suddenly shouted out, while wiping the sweat off his head.
"Hm? Is there an issue between you?" After he turned back and discovered that there was something strange about the expressions on the others' faces, Jing Kong could not figure what was going on.
"I was thinking, what were we about to do after this?" Feng Luo did not want to discuss 24K in front of so many people and used this chance to change the topic.
"Now we can first clear the Spider Machinery Guards. After clearing them, we can split up to search the base to see if it has anything else hidden. This type of wasteland ruins usually would hide some good stuff." Big Pineapple revealed his greedy nature as he suggested.
"No, I feel like that is inappropriate," Green Arrow shook her head, as she acted more rational towards this idea.
"It is most important that we retreat now, no matter how good the other stuff here is, it will not be as good as the two things we have in hand, and it will not be good if an issue arises. I feel that we can decide after seeing the situation," After disassembling the parts, Jing Kong carried the core instrument but eventually discovered that he was unable to fit it in his backpack, hence only able to carry it by hand as he said.
["Attention, Devil's Triangle Island Ruins Reclamation entering its final phase."]
["In this phase, the players with the Boss Chip, core investment manufacturing equipment, and the technological chip would have their locations revealed every two minutes."]
["If any players kill another player with any of the aforementioned items, they can directly obtain all of the loot from the island that the killed player has."]
["Countdown to the first location report: 900 seconds, 899 seconds, 898 seconds…"]
However, before anyone could say anything in time, four messages were continuously ringing in their ears suddenly.
"What is this situation?" Everyone, after being stunned for a while, all changed in expression.
"What is this? Why is there even such a phase at the end of the mission?" Douchebag could not help but blurt out.
The original thought was that the stuff was already in hand and they just needed to stroll down the base through the structure diagram and find an exit out. And then the group sneaked to the landing beach, waited until just before dawn to return directly to the warship. Therefore, the mission would have been completed.
But no one expected that there was such a change!

Chapter 626: Hot Potato
"The location is to be reported immediately after obtaining the loot after killing the person. This rule is putting the people with the loot onto a barbeque stick to cook." What Douchebag just said expressed the thoughts of everyone.
This rule is full of evil intentions.
Under the circumstances of having their location reported, the temptation of the Boss Chip, the manufacturing equipment, and the details for it; the person with all three of these things would be under attack from all the opposing players.
The people who were present, even if they were Heavy Armored Warriors with disgusting defense stats like Big Pineapple and Douchebag, they might not be able to survive under such circumstances.
The force that obtained these items would be taking attacks from an alliance of the two other forces.
After all, for an individual player, the price of the first Boss Chip in War was amazing. For a guild, obtaining the chip manufacturing equipment was a must.
Worse still, under such circumstances, what they needed to worry about was not only the opposing players but the people behind them if they have warped intentions.
"The time now is 5:20 a.m., there is still more than half an hour before daybreak, we only can leave the island at that time. The first location report is in 15 minutes, and we need to seize this time to leave the base first. We will decide the distribution of the chips after reaching Storm City."
However, since it was like this, putting away all these items was even more difficult.
The beetle troops disappeared into the black hole as they crawled through, and Feng Luo shook the Boss-Grade pet chip in his hand before putting it into his Agent Backpack.
This item was like a hot potato, the person holding this item would be under more attack compared to the other two items, hence why no one rejected his act of keeping the item.
After all, in this process of obtaining these chips, everyone was aware of how much contribution Feng Luo's beetle troops gave.
If it wasn't for 24K, it was impossible to obtain all three of these items so quickly.
"Seeing from this blueprint, all of the passageways leading to the outside of the base should be sealed right now. Wanting to leave in 15 minutes is almost impossible." Green Arrow brought out the structural model of the base, as she swiftly mentioned.
"I have an idea. We should leave the base through the same way we entered." Feng Luo pointed at the blueprint of the model, at the underground passageway under the ocean of flowers where they came in from.
…
There were 11 minutes and seven seconds left on the countdown.
A group of people appeared at the passageway under the ocean of flowers created by the five mini-missiles explosions from before.
Initially, when they first entered through this passageway, they took an entire half-hour because they needed to break through the ground. Now that they were leaving, they no longer needed to breakthrough, hence the huge decrease in time spent.
"How are we going to get up there?" The group of people looked towards Feng Luo; they wanted to know his plans.
"Tsk, tsk!"
24K squeaked twice as the black hole that gave the other people in the group a shock earlier appeared once again. However, this time, two beetles flew out from within.
One was a transparent beetle that was as big as a thumbnail and did not make any noise as it moved, and the other was a brown beetle that looked to be about one meter in size and had a pair of scorpion-like tongs.
"Yet another two new types of beetles and they're Commander-Grade creatures." After being clear of the appearance and the attributes of the two types of beetles that appeared, Jing Kong and the rest were not as surprised as before, mainly because they had been shocked before but now they were mostly numb to it.
Regarding 24K's level, everyone was almost sure that it was a Boss-Grade pet because a common pet would not be so powerful.
After the Level-42 Commander-Grade Scout Beetle and the Level-50 Collector Beetle appeared, both of them flapped their wings and, under the group's observation, flew towards the soil layer, which was above their heads.
Being the first Commander-Grade Beetle, the Collector Beetle's "united" level has been at level 50 for a few days.
Although it did not have much combat strength, its skills were collecting-related and had increased by a huge margin.
After flying up to the covered soil layer in the passageway, its pair of brown tongs drilled effortlessly. In the spots where it passed, a hole appeared that was sufficient to allow the large Heavy Armored Warriors to pass through on their stomachs because of its "transformation mucus" talent. The soil, which was extremely soft and very easy to fall apart, had been transformed into a solid that was as hard as a rock, making it so that the people did not have to worry about this passageway collapsing upon them.
The speed in which the Collector Beetle was digging through the ground was a lot faster than the best drilling machines.
After a few seconds, the group of people was able to pass through using Zhao Yun's "energy shaped" stairs and before crawling into the hole.
"Puff!"
At the same time, on the ground's surface that was destroyed due to the explosion in the ocean of flowers, a pile of dirt moved subtlely, and a transparent figure flew up from it.
…
After the group of people entered the passageway…
At the central base, in an area that was not marked on the structure drawing.
The different sized biological cabins were constantly exhaling freezing breaths. Through these translucent biological cabins, all of the different kinds of monsters on the island could be seen.
Poisonous chameleons, anacondas, overlord earthworms, golems…
From their grades, they were all above Elite-Grade. Worse still, there was still the existence of the Quasi-Boss Grade.
Since all these creatures were frozen in the biological cabin from before, there was no life fluctuation; not even the Legendary-Grade Scout spells would not be able to detect it.
However, at the moment, perhaps due to the changes in the center base, the ice blocks with the monsters frozen within were starting to melt gradually.
…
"Deputy President Zi Wei, what do we do? The opposing alliance troops are simply too aggressive. We are unable to enter the main base." On one side of the main base, in a slightly thick jungle, the expressions on the faces of the highest leveled members of the Nine-Star Guild were not pleasant.
"Blame it on the group of idiots from North City. They were too stubborn to not clear their bases. In the end, not only were they beaten up but they even had to run away. That led to our opposing alliance taking control of the large amounts of creatures at the base. Even after we joined in, we were unable to hold on!" A player could not resist but blurt out.
When members of the group were still following the plan from before and carrying out their tasks, things were going smoothly. Not only did they annoy the people in North City, but they also decreased the effect of their internal spy to the minimum amount.
However, when they followed the plan to the main base, they discovered that the plan was better off than what was happening now.
Firstly, the fire command was supposed to serve as bait leading to a group of people pretending to die, making them unable to obtain detailed news of the war field.
The next step in the original plan was to come over to clean up the mess. However, they did not expect that when the large forces of Storm City arrived, the battle was incomplete. Although the players from North City have the advantage, their losses were completely different because North City did not gain a victory, but instead took a huge defeat.
When they arrived, there were no more than a hundred North City players still fighting across the mountains.
One of the reasons was that they got what they deserved.
During the battle with North City, the NPC for the opposing Rebel Army camp sent people to the nearest base, the fourth base, that North City did not clear and controlled a huge crowd of monsters to use against the players from Storm City.
Under the aggressive offense by the Rebel Army camp and the assassination of a group of ninjas, the North City people, who were slightly at a lower location, were completely demolished by the attacks from the front and back.
In such situations, the people from Storm City had no other choice but to first get rid of the hatred against North City and team up with them to defeat the Rebel Army camp.
After all, if we say that the two main cities of the federation camp with one thousand top players doing the mission, but the result was to be cut off by hundreds of ordinary rebel players or even destroyed by a regiment of ordinary players, they would be mocked to death by the spectating players from the other main cities after they get back.
This would decrease the morale of these people by a whole lot.
However, the Rebel Army, which was joined by a new force, still did not fall under the situation of having two enemies against itself.
What was more frustrating for them is that they had just received the news that another NPC of the Rebel Army brought monsters from the second and third bases from the North City's side of the island and was coming over.
Once those monsters join the battle, the ending would be very obvious.

Chapter 627: The Surprised Senior Players of Nine-Star Guild
"God damn, Frontline Command and Sword Ki Long River died in the middle of the operation. If not, with Frontline's stealth profession skills, we might have a way out of this. Deputy President Zi Wei, if only back then you did not completely agree to allow Frontline carry on with such a dangerous operation…" A high-ranking player with the emblem of the Nine-Star Guild on his chest blurted out grudgingly, as he seemed to put a lot of emphasis on the word "deputy."
"This baiting operation is a super important aspect of the plan, if none of the Rebel Army and North City people fight, then based on our situation back then with our reduced members, even if Frontline Command was on the field, how much hope of winning would we even have in the end? Although they died, the operation was a success." Zi Wei looked at him sideways.
"But even if this operation succeeded, there is still not much use. In this current situation, we only have failure as a result. In my opinion, back then, we should not have taken that Feng Zhi Luo Ye's suggestion… If we treated the situation with more severity, we would be able to think of a more stable plan…" This Nine-Star Guild high-ranking player felt uneasy after being stared at by Zi Wei, as her eyes flashed slightly when he spoke.
"Hmph!" Zi Wei's face turned cold, as she did not want to comment on the subject.
The high-ranks of the Nine-Star Guild, due to special reasons, were not cooperative. Additionally, in the current situation, it was no surprise that people were trying to shift blame.
It was no surprise, but it was simply disgraceful.
"There is a situation, there is something on the ground!" A nearby Scout player suddenly had a huge shift in his expression as he stared at the scouting instrument in his hand as he interrupted the conversation between the two.
"Puff!"
Before the voice of the Scout player faded, the ground between them suddenly revealed a hole where they could vaguely see a brown crab passing through.
"It's the creatures from the Rebel Army!" The nearby players frantically raised their weapons as they wanted to attack.
"Don't attack, it's us!" However, a voice that was familiar to everyone came out from the hole that left everyone stunned.
"Jing Kong… You… are still alive!" The command team of the Nine-Star Guild was watching with great astonishment at Jing Kong, with his slightly dirtied head, popped out of the ground.
"Of course I'm still alive. Not only me, but Old Sword is still alive too, however, Old Y and Frontline Command were caught in the explosion that caused their deaths by the North City's micro missiles…" After Jing Kong got out of the hole, he made space for Feng Luo who was walking out after him.
"Frontline Command died in battle…" After hearing Jing Kong's words and confirming Frontline Command was dead, the joy of the top-ranking players of the Nine-Star Guild was naturally reduced a lot.
However, after seeing Feng Luo, who was the second person who walked out of the hole, some people looked at that senior Nine-Star Guild player who was talking behind his back just now.
The eyes of the senior player of the Nine-Star Guild flickered, but he could not say anything.
The one who crawled out last was Sword Ki Long River and he was carrying an extremely obvious instrument in his hands.
Time countdown until location reporting, five minutes and eleven seconds.
…
"What? You guys have entered the core base, and obtained the manufacturing equipment and chip information?" The senior players of the Nine-Star Guild, including Zi Wei and Uncle Lin, were completely surprised and joyful coupled with an expression filled with disbelief. "How is this possible, how did you all accomplish this?"
"Half of this should be due to luck, the other half, we need to thank…" Sword Ki Long River did not continue, but instead, Jing Kong swiftly summarized the whole process of the incidents as he pointed at Feng Luo a few times throughout the description.
Of course, in this process, the group of Nine-Star Guild senior players continuously had shocked faces. As for the senior player who was talking badly about Feng Luo before, he had such a huge change in the expression of his face.
"Now, we need to think of a feasible solution within the next three minutes…" After spending half a minute describing the situation, Jing Kong's face became stern as he said.
…
Countdown to location report, thirty seconds.
"Mr. Feng, I have something to tell you. Before this, we met a small squad from North City and in the end, Digital Cat was met with misfortune…" In the group of Nine-Star Guild warriors and gunners, as they were bringing the group of Feng Luo and the others, swiftly retreating towards the warship, Zi Wei reported to Feng Luo about the incident with some apologies.
"However, that humanoid mech of hers had such a surprising performance. Honestly speaking, I did not think that Digital Cat was such an incredible mech engineer." Following that, Zi Wei praised her with some admiration.
After hearing Zi Wei's words, it was obvious that during the battle from before, Digital Cat had a good performance during battle.
["Attention, Devil's Triangle Island Ruins expedition is entering its final phase."]
["In this phase, those players who obtained the Boss chip, core manufacturing equipment, and the information in chip skills would have their locations reported… any players who kill the players with any of these items, would immediately obtain…"]
["The players who have obtained the current core equipment are: Storm City Base – Sword Ki Long River, located at… Chip information owner: Ten Mile Tiger, located at …, Boss chip owner: Feng Luo, located at…"]
However, before Feng Luo had the chance to ask Zi Wei in detail, the fifteen-minute countdown for the first location report in the system had ended.
At the moment when the countdown turned zero, the system information immediately rang in everyone's ears.
"Wow, f*ck! What is the current situation?" The North City players, with a death count not exceeding hundreds, were still being chased by that NPC and the Rebel Army's creatures, shouted out.
Many of them were shocked before they were stopped in their tracks, hence almost being killed by the creatures chasing them.
"D*mn, what is this?"
Among the Rebel Army camps that occupy the position closest to the center base, those players from the Rebel Army who were completely minding their own business, but because of this situation, have been happily imagining that they had successfully won this mission, and had won countless star players and obtained a lot of pet chips, had faces filled with joy.
"F*ck… Oh, no. Crap, our people obtained the core items and Boss chip?" Even amongst the North City players, some players within the Nine-Star Guild who did not get the news that Zi Wei had intentionally hidden, nearly spewed profanities.
"However, they weren't even close to the core base, how did they get the items? Never mind, it doesn't matter, this simply meant that we didn't need to fight with the Rebel Army anymore." Some people were already talking joyfully.
"How is it possible not to fight them, didn't you hear the notice on the system?"
"These three items can burst out from players and you only have to kill them, then the items would go to the opponents. We don't want to fight, but for the people in the Rebel Army and North City, why would they stop fighting, they would only fight more aggressively."
Some people were shaking their heads with their frowned brows instead.
"What are you scared of, the manufacturing equipment might be in the hands of the Sword Ki Long River. Whether it is North City or Rebel Army, which player would have the capabilities to kill him off? The information chip is also in the hands of Tiger bro, with this disgusting health points' talent, which player would be able to kill off him?" The player with a face filled with joy revealed an over-confident look.
Sword Ki Long River had a nickname "Sword God," and Ten Miles Tiger was also a star player in the Nine-Star Guild.
Although his ranking was only the top thirty in Storm City, his disgusting health points were the most elite in the entirety of War, and he even had a stealth profession.
"Isn't there also a Feng Luo? Yes, Feng Luo, this name sounds familiar… Yes, isn't that the player who was the second to awaken his Force? He has also gotten the two Quasi-Boss chips from before, now even the Boss chip is in his hands, is it possible for him to be this disgusting?"

Chapter 628: Metal Praying Mantis

"F*ck, it's disgusting!"
"Don't even bother with the Quasi-Boss Chip, even the Boss Chip was taken by an outsider. Did the leader consider everyone's contributions this time? There's hearsay that Feng Luo had some relations with Deputy President Zi Wei…"
Amongst the reactions of shock and admiration, there were also some strange voices.
"No more chit-chat from anyone, quickly prepare for battle! Our mission now is to intercept! You must quickly hinder the people from the Rebel Army and North City and allow these three items to be delivered to the warship and complete the mission!" a Heavy Armored Warrior with a golden shield frowned as he shouted and interrupted the two people.
The people with such thoughts were not limited to the Nine-Star Guild players that were told to stay behind and intercept. Some people in the group that were allocated to protect three people along with Zi Wei were also complaining.
Although the main goal of the Nine-Star Guild was to create equipment, the idea of getting the Boss Chip for themselves was a very attractive reward, especially when they knew from earlier that the chip manufacturing equipment was unable to produce Boss-Grade Chips. The equipment had a production restriction that caused it to be almost impossible to produce Quasi-Boss Chips in a short while, making many Storm City people have thoughts about owning this Boss-Chip.
This might be the first Boss-Grade Chip in the history of War, and it represented the "first Boss-Grade pet." That probability attracted large groups of people as it entailed the chance to become one of the most elite star players.
"The first Boss-Grade pet in the history of War? And it is held by someone outside the guild!"
"The first Boss-Grade pet? Do you think that this chip would get that title?" However, after Jing Kong reprimanded these people with some resignation, they quickly shut up.
Jing Kong looked at 24K with eyes full of disbelief because it looked a little harmless in front of people while it lay on Feng Luo's shoulder.
…
"Feng Luo? Never heard of that name before."
"A Boss-Grade Chip? Quick, chase after the location marking!"
Compared to the thoughts of the players in the Nine-Star Guild, the thoughts from the people from the other two alliances were a lot simpler.
They only needed to kill their target. Even if it was a long-distance kill, they would be able to obtain all of the loot from the other party.
Facing such rules, the North City players were embarrassed before quickly recovering during this sudden chaos as their faces became a lot more agitated.
On the surface, their current capabilities were not able to win against the people from either Storm City or the Rebel Army. However, if it was only against an individual, they would have the capability to win.
As Sword Ki Long River and Ten Mile Tiger were both elite star players from North City, many knew that they were not easy to defeat.
In comparison, with an ID that was not as famous as the other two, and having the Boss-Grade Chip that most of the other players were more concerned with, Feng Luo naturally became the target.
Other than the SK Guild that placed its aim on the chip manufacturing equipment was targeting Sword Ki Long River instead.
Almost the majority of the players from both North City and the Rebel Army had placed their target on Feng Luo because he seemed to be the weakest target.
…
"Quick, everyone, don't panic!"
"Intercept these creatures!"
"D*mn, the creatures on this island are all strange!"
The time was 5:45 a.m., and there were only 15 minutes before daybreak.
At a location only two kilometers away from the shore, a group of Nine-Star Guild players was retreating frantically because there were several hundred Elite-Grade monsters right behind them.
The Metal Praying Mantis is a type of strange creature similar to normal praying mantises but their bodies are composed of more than 50% metal.
Not only was its speed super fast, but it was also able to withstand normal bullets by using the semi-metalized body to swallow a large amount of metal ore. With a pair of wings refracting metallic colors that were vibrating continuously at high frequencies, the Metal Praying Mantis was able to cut all of the vegetation and shrubs that it passed by.
"Yet another kind of monster without physical restraint. The monsters on this island are simply not friends with the laws of physics… " A Nine-Star Guild Light Armor Warrior just slashed a Metal Praying Mantis, but the alloy sword he swung with full force did not cut the hard, metalized head of this Level-55 Commander-Grade monster. Instead, the attack only created the sounds of metal crashing together and sparks.
"Bang!"
"-4035!"
It was the Metal Praying Mantis with its sharp wings liken to blades that, when under high vibrations, immediately cut deeply into his neck. The attack caused his neck to continuously bleed and took away nearly one-third of his health points.
"Bang!"
"-14354!"
A piercing bullet was fired from behind the injured player. The bullet's powerful destruction abilities went through the body of the Metal Praying Mantis. On impact, this Commander-Grade creature exploded and still had nearly 50% health points remaining.
"Bang!"
"-8000!"
Feng Luo finished off this Commander-Grade Metal Praying Mantis with one more shot. As he turned the muzzle of the Wings of Death and took another shot, the bullet exploded into another Elite-Grade Metal Praying Mantis into pieces. Before the attack, the monster had full health.
After killing off the two Metal Praying Mantises, both of Feng Luo's pupils contracted because his vision shifted to see the destruction happening around him and the long-range attacks fired at him.
"Rumble, rumble…"
["Notice: Current players with the core equipment: Sword Ki Long River, location… Ten Mile Tiger, location… Feng Luo, location…"]
At this moment, the new round of location reports in the system had rung to every player on each of the three teams.
Every time their location was exposed, the main three people, especially Feng Luo, would have a huge area around them suddenly be destroyed by huge amounts of long-range attacks in the following few seconds.
In this round of attacks, even the Nine-Star Guild Heavy-Armored Warriors that raised their shields and took medicine were swiftly damaged until they only had half of their health points as they hurriedly allowed the doctors to heal their life points.
However, Feng Luo, the seemingly weak Sniper player, was uninjured even when he had only his bare skin as protection from the attacks.
On the surface of this body, hundreds of Energy Beetles formed a tightly sealed energy shield that caused all of the long-range attacks to bounce off him.
If viewed from the sight of the Reconnaissance Beetle, the surface of these Energy Beetles also had a layer of phantom energy. This created a group phantom shield that was unable to be seen by the naked eye and was enough to protect him even if the energy shield was broken and would protect the weak Energy Beetles from being killed.
"Is this the capabilities of Boss-Grade pets?" The players of the Nine-Star Guild either had looks of admiration or envy on their faces.

Chapter 629: T-Virus, Feng Luo's Master Card
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
"It's no use, the Rebel Army is chasing too aggressively. Especially with these creatures, their speed is even faster than ours. If we can't shake them off, we can only fight them directly."
However, up until now, the three people with the items, all had perfect statuses, but the situation for the entire team was not as fortunate.
The Rebel Army had destroyed the remaining players from North City, the NPC pirates had driven the monster army behind the retreating players from Storm City, people were constantly getting killed, and if they were not separated halfway, they would have been caught much earlier.
"We need to kill off those NPC research experts, or it'll be impossible for us to delay until daybreak!" The Nine-Star Guild player who took over the commanding role exclaimed.
"How? Those people are hiding far behind and they don't have to enter the front lines since they are commanding the creatures to participate in the battle, they even have people protecting them. Besides, there's more than just one of them, even Snipers won't be able to kill them off. Most importantly, we're running out of people."
The only issue was that it was not remotely easy to kill those NPCs. Whether it was the Rebel Army players or the NPC pirates, they were not fools and the Storm City people did not have any chance to kill them.
"Perhaps in this situation, it is time to utilize that…" Within the squad, Feng Luo activated the skill "Wild Charge" and charged out from the huge area of long-range attacks. There was a flash in his sights that caused his vision to become temporarily void.
A Commander-Grade Scout Beetle that had attributes that were slightly different from the usual Scout Beetle crawled out from a black hole that was opened in the darkness.
…
"F*ck! You bunch of scaredy-cats, charge forward now!" Within the team that was being chased down by the Rebel Army, there was a tall and strong black pirate captain that was scolding a group of Rebel Army players.
In the battle that happened two hours ago, the pirate squad had sustained a casualty of thirty people.
He, who was considered to be strong and wealthy in the Grey Seas Pirate Group, was very annoyed at the task of taking his underlings to find some biological control chip on the island.
More importantly, even he was badly injured now. One arm was directly impacted by a player's sniper rifle, although it was not difficult to treat it with the Rebel Army's biotechnology.
Now left with a single-arm, he was unable to participate in combat.
"Come!" At the moment, just when the black pirate captain was fuming hot, a half-transparent beetle the size of a thumbnail charged out from an unknown area and suddenly flapped its wings and pounced on his body to fiercely bite at his neck area.
"Pow!"
That black pirate captain, who was more than two meters tall, used the few remaining fingers on his right hand and fiercely slapped his neck.
"F*ck! God d*mned bugs!" Seeing the blood traces left on his palm, the black pirate captain fiercely scolded and used his hand to crush this transparent bug that was trying to struggle into a ball of mess.
"Bang!"
"-7943!"
However, just when he was about to crush the bug with his hand, a bullet from an unknown place flew over and hit him directly on the chest.
As a Commander-Grade unit, even though he had thick skin, he still had health points like a humanoid creature that was exceeding 20,000.
Being fatally hit by a bullet, the black pirate captain bled immediately and fell as his health points plunged to a fatal point immediately.
"Boss, boss! F*ck, doctor, help me!" He was held by the two pirates that were frantically trying to find the combatant that was following in the back when he shouted in pain.
The black pirate NPC was bleeding from his entire body and it started to accelerate as if something had agitated it. As his body started to warm up, his veins were starting to expand one by one and his closed eyes were swiftly becoming bloodshot.
It was only because he was black that the Rebel Army players were not able to notice this abnormality.
"F*ck, this is over! We're better off dead!"
"If it wasn't for the NPC completing the duty, I'd have to find a chance to get rid of this guy. However, that shot just now, the damage caused was so disgusting!"
…
"Another three people just died, Deputy President Zi Wei, we're only left with 39 people!" After ten minutes, at a place only a kilometer away from the shore, a Nine-Star Guild player reported to Zi Wei while panting.
Although it was only a kilometer away from the shore, there were still 20 minutes before daybreak.
There were still plenty members of the Rebel Army chasing behind them, and those creatures had little to no regard for their lives as they charged towards the players and attacked them. Every wave of creatures would take away at least five or more players.
"I feel that we can split up… The Rebel Army players only want the Boss Chip, so it's likely they don't have a huge interest in the pet chip manufacturing equipment and information…" The Nine-Star Guild senior player that wanted to shift the blame previously suddenly had a flicker in his eyes as he blurted out.
"Qin Ming, if you open your mouth and talk again, then you lead people and walk another path. This would correlate to your suggestion." Zi Wei said as her face was the coldest it had been since the start.
The surrounding Nine-Star Guild people had different types of expressions, but the majority did not look optimistic at all.
"What's going on, these creatures look like they suddenly became even more chaotic." Following that, the Scout player that previously discovered Feng Luo and his company underground interrupted the conversation between the two people again.
"The creatures are attacking both the Rebel Army's NPC pirates and the players, they seem to have suddenly lost control." After another Scout swiftly glanced over with combat glasses, he started with a face filled with disbelief.
"Some of the Rebel Army players seemed to be shouting something during combat, but they were a little too far, and I was unable to hear clearly what they were saying. They were mentioning something about the T-Virus…" The Heavy Armored Warrior, Uncle Lin, suddenly blurted out with his hoarse voice.
"T-Virus, the Biochemical Crisis? Why would the T-Virus be on this island?" Uncle Lin sounded like he did not know much about the T-Virus, but after Jing Kong heard this, he was immediately shocked.
…
Compared to the people from the Nine-Star Guild, they were a little confused. At the moment, the Rebel Army players were completely fuming from their impatience.
"Ah, f*ck! What's going on? Why did the creatures lose control? Why would there be the appearance of the T-Virus?" A player, while hugging his arm that was bitten, looked at the system's notice as his face was so depressed that he looked like he just vomited.
The Biohazard Crisis could be exchanged for serum as long as there was some T-Virus present, but the premise of exchanging for serum was that they required sufficient points.
In this situation, how would they be able to kill enough creatures to accumulate enough points before the disease acted up?
It was a good thing that they were able to survive the surrounding suddenly rebellious creatures.
…
Compared to these Rebel Army players that were at the frontlines, those Rebel Army players at the back felt even worse.
When the black pirate captain was carried down, he was quickly in a state with fatal injuries.
In the end, when he was just about to be sent to the doctor, the T-Virus that he was infected with suddenly acted up.
As a Level-50 Commander-Grade humanoid monster, after he had become infected with the T-Virus, the mutant was certainly not comparable to ordinary zombies or even Elite-Grade lickers. It would have the fighting power comparable to a Tyrant, and his skin was covered in some snake scales and had a Commander-Grade infection like a licker.
At the temporal medical location, there were more than ten injured pirates.
After the black pirate became strange and opened his fully bloodshot eyes, he immediately fell.
Since all of these NPC soldiers were Elite-Grade, the result was that they had become monsters similar to lickers. Those who were attacked later were those NPC researchers next to them.
In the short few minutes, the infected bunch became ten-strong from one person before it became a lot more.
Those players in the Rebel Army camp finally knew what was going on at this moment.
Regarding the Biological Crisis, many knew about it even though a huge majority of people did not take part in it.
At this moment, the most accurate way of going about this was to kill off all the infected bodies, even those who had just been infected.
If only it was this easy.
The speed of these infected bodies was extremely fast. Additionally, they were all Elite-Grade or above. They were completely helpless once those NPC pirates reacted.
"The f*ck? Are you f*cking serious? You want me to kill my brothers?"
The NPC pirate did not have much knowledge on the T-Virus and did not listen to the advice of the players to fire at the infectious bodies that had been his companions or even some pirates that were infected but had not acted up.
In the end, within the Rebel Army team, regardless of creature or players, the NPCs and the players were starting to fight internally.
Under such circumstances, the small Storm City squad that was left with a team of a little more than 30 people grasped the chance and ran towards the shore with all of their efforts.

Chapter 630: Sniped!
"Phew! Finally shaken them off…"
"But why would the T-Virus suddenly appear on this island during our mission?"
The players from Storm City were just one mile from the shoreline, near the huge Gobi beach where the first base was located.
The Storm City team was left with just over 30 people and had finally killed those Metal Praying Mantises that had given chase after losing control. They were considered to be temporarily free from being in battle mode since the Rebel Army players were unable to catch up to them after escaping.
However, everyone was a little perplexed at the new situation regarding the T-Virus appearing in the Rebel Army's team, causing chaos as a result.
Compared with the North City players, the Storm City players were much more familiar with the T-Virus.
Other than the fact that their subordinate city, Silvermoon City, was one of the places of the outbreak, it was also because over ten days ago when the Nine-Star Guild had organized the banquet, a one-time crisis had happened in Storm City involving the T-Virus.
"T-Virus, Biohazard Crisis…" Zi Wei looked deep in thought as she glanced at Feng Luo, Phoenix, and Big Pineapple who were all behind her.
Other people on the team did not know that the movement that night in Storm City was related to Feng Luo and the few of the players from his group, but she understood part of the situation that occurred inside of Silvermoon City during the outbreak.
In her heart, she could not help but make a guess.
"We've succeeded." In comparison, Feng Luo could now heave a sigh of relief.
Just now, this Scout Beetle was just a Normal-Grade Scout Beetle, but its uniqueness was in the fact that it was the second Scout Beetle that Feng Luo had hatched.
Furthermore, it had been hatched after using the corpse of a Golden Python infected with the T-Virus at Roguetown, where the Biohazard Crisis had first started, to incubate the Scout Beetle's egg.
This Scout Beetle had a one-time special skill, "Infect," and was able to give the bitten target a certain rate of being infected by the T-Virus. However, the system did not clearly state how small the rate of infection was.
Although he had tapped on this killer mace, Feng Luo was still a little worried about whether it would be able to work. After being out of luck for quite a while today, at least there was a last bit of luck still on his side.
"What's the point of stirring the T-Virus in now? It's a good thing anyway."
"Right, who cares about it? Those Rebel Army NPCs don't have the energy to chase us now. As for those Rebel Army players, if they did dare to come near, they'd just be giving us free loot!"
"Now, we just have to drag on for a few more minutes, return to the warship, and our mission would be considered complete!"
There was no conclusion about why the T-Virus would suddenly break out in the Rebel Army, but the Storm City people did not bother to care about this question anymore, having happy faces instead.
Having shaken off the Rebel Army, everyone present should be able to peacefully return to the warship and become the ultimate winners of this mission.
"Crack, crack!"
"Bazoom!"
"Da, da, da!"
Just when many of their faces showed happiness, a few flares were shot above their heads suddenly.
A bunch of bullets formed a dense bullet wave as they flew towards their direction. Among which, there were several submachine gun bullets, sniper rifle bullets, and over 100 machine gun bullets per second.
The area of sudden bullet coverage enveloped the entire team within it, creating a situation that caught everyone off guard.
Several "cracking" noises sounded from the surface of Feng Luo's body as the Energy Beetle Forcefield that had absorbed a lot of damage broke upon absorbing up to another 100 machine gun bullets.
Even though many of the Energy Beetles Feng Luo summoned through 24K had psionic forcefields, they were instantly shot dead by the flying bullet hell.
Although the defense power of Energy Beetles was very strong, they were about as weak as Scout Beetles. After being exposed, they essentially did not have much resistance ability against physical attacks compared to other beetles.
"F*ck me, it's the North City people!"
"This bunch of brats!"
Being attacked by the sudden bullet mirage, there were immediately more than ten white lights of death that flashed from the Storm City team.
The Storm City players had discovered the opponents from whom the attacks came, and they gritted their teeth cursing as they dodged the hundreds of bullets flying towards them.
At the first research base over 100 meters away, after having been cleared of Hypertoxic Lizards at the start of the night's mission, there were at least 20 or more firearms pointed in this direction, madly firing.
The North City players had used this process when battling with the Rebel Army previously to circle to the front and enter the first base to lie in ambush, and thus this sudden attack.
This round of attacks alone had killed one-third of the remaining players from Storm City.
The North City people were not something those people in the Rebel Army could compare with, as they would not be inferior to the Storm City people regardless of equipment or ability.
With this dense bullet attack, the Storm City players could not engage in a counterattack, and could only immediately split up into the forest at the sides of the bullet mirage while using the tree cover to dodge the attack.
However, the North City people were too vicious.
Under the impact of the wave of bullets, the tropical shrubs that were not strong were quickly reduced to bits and pieces.
["Notice: Current holders of the Core equipment: Sword Ki Long River, coordinates…Ten Mile Tiger, coordinates…Feng Zhi Luoye, coordinates…"]
Besides, the system's new round of public announcements sounded right at this time.
"Da, da, da…"
The moment the system announcement came on, the number of bullets shot towards the positions of Feng Luo, Sword Ki Long River, and Ten Mile Tiger increased by multiple folds.
"-334, -356, -377…"
Even Feng Luo, after being hit by over ten bullets in an instant, lost a few thousand health straight away. However, this was not lethal.
"Ping!"
"-3556!"
Just when Feng Luo stood up quickly to leave the coordinate-marked region, his thigh was heavily hit by a sniper rifle bullet with a flaming blue tail suddenly. His Rare-Grade SUV combat uniform was shot through by a special bullet, a weak-point damage coefficient of more than 3500 emerged above his head, and there was a bone-breaking sound at the same time.
["You have been hit, entering "fractured, bleeding" state…"]
A system message instantly flashed. Feng Luo's entire left leg was stinging in pain and he instantly collapsed after just standing up.
"Injured!" To average players, suffering such an injury in such a situation was fatal.
This kind of injury was not healable by a simple Blood Tonic. It required going to a hospital or medical pod to be able to be completely healed.
"Ping!"
After Feng Luo had fallen to the ground, the second bullet was fired.
"-5578!"
The damage of this bullet was instantly one level higher; hitting Feng Luo's back and causing red lethal damage, causing his health to fall below 40%.
"An expert!" Feng Luo's heart sank.
He had charged into the forest first thing and was moving right now. This situation of being hit straight in the leg was very difficult even though there were flares in the sky.
However, the North City Sniper on the other side had done it, reducing his health by half with two consecutive shots in addition to the damage from other players from before.
If it was not for his health being high enough, any other Sniper player would have been slain with the extent of damage from these two bullets.
"Is it that brat?" In Feng Luo's mind appeared that North City Sniper who had almost one-shot killed Frontline Command previously when enemy-baiting.

Chapter 631: Tremendously Gorgeous Prizes
These two shots were grasped the right timing, just when he was attacked by the others and needed to stand up and flee.
The first shot directly hit his leg, as if certain that it would inflict a disabling special effect while preparing for the second shot.
Looking at it from this perspective, this Sniper had calculated the battle process long before – this was truly a quality needed by top Snipers.
However, this Sniper player did not calculate one thing, as they were simply following Feng Luo's reaction.
Having been consecutively shot twice and his health was reduced down to a third, with his thigh disabled making him unable to stand up while also trying to deal with the other players' attacks, Feng Luo did not panic or roll on the ground to dodge, but rather he reflexively half-knelt and raised the Wings of Death in his hand.
He quickly pointed the muzzle in the direction where the sniper bullet had come from accurately, while at the same time, his eyes stared into the Legendary-Grade sniper scope.
"Ping!"
Simultaneously, when he had completed this movement, he had seen through the Legendary-Grade scope that there was a gunshot spark somewhere at the top of the first base.
The Sniper player fired their third shot from the other side that was shot straight towards him.
"Ping!"
The moment the spark appeared, Feng Luo swiftly swung the Wings of Death gun muzzle towards that direction as his finger pulled the trigger and fired.
"Slap!"
Feng Luo's head was struck by a special sniper bullet. However, this time it did not go through the SUV combat helmet and was unable to cause any damage to Feng Luo.
Feng Luo's dark red "Force armor" emerged to protect his damaged body, causing the high-speed bullet to shatter upon collision.
"500, 500…"
At the same time, green recovery coefficients appeared above Feng Luo's head after he pulled the trigger.
Even if this shot had destroyed the Force armor, it was impossible the bullet to one-shot clear his health that had recovered to more than half.
"Ping!"
"-8045!"
Rather, it was the Sniper player on the other side who could not have anticipated Feng Luo to respond this way.
Not to mention the fact that this bullet produced by Feng Luo in less than a second had similarly and accurately hit his head – with the super-high damage of over 8000, even if he had taken potions in advance and had Legendary defense equipment, he would not have been able to escape the result of being one-shot killed.
[You have killed a competitive player, earned second-generation Basic Biochip *45, earned second-generation Intermediate Biochip *10, earned second generation Advanced Biochip *1, earned Death Horn (Legendary-Grade combat shoes), earned Roaring Thunder (Rare-Grade pistol), earned…]
Just when he killed this North City expert Sniper player, a bunch of prize messages had rapidly flashed past Feng Luo's vision one after the other.
"Second-generation Advanced Biochip, a Quasi-Boss Chip, and Legendary equipment too?" When Feng Luo scanned through the great number of prizes, especially the messages of the two pieces of Legendary equipment and the Quasi-Boss Chip, even he could not help but feel shocked at first before he smiled uncontrollably.
As a person who possessed one of the three Core items, after killing his opponent all the prizes earned by the opponent on the island would be transferred directly into his backpack, and vice versa.
Although this meant that all the enemy would have to do was have him killed to obtain a Boss Chip and two Quasi-Boss Chips to have a change an owner, it also meant that everything earned by the people he killed would belong to him.
However, as the people who previously had given chase were all Rebel Army players, they did not have many valuable items on themselves anyway and there would not have been as many returns.
However, this North City Sniper had richened his returns from previous battles. He did not just possess two Legendary pieces of equipment as prizes but also a Quasi-Boss Chip that he got from who knew where.
The opponent was a little dissatisfied and wanted to get this Boss Chip in his hands, but he had been counter-attacked and was slain by Feng Luo's deceiving method. Everything that he had previously done was in vain as everything he earned became a part of Feng Luo's spoils.
Although Feng Luo had slain this North City Sniper with super-high damage, the Storm City players' situation was not worthy of optimism.
Within this short period, another few people had died.
Besides, the group of North City's people make-up was almost the same as theirs – a huge part was Gunners and Warriors that could move quickly.
This meant that even if they wanted to make use of the advantage of their ability to move quickly to open a gap between them and their opponent, it would be no use.
"Let's go all-out and see who's the prey in the end!" Jing Kong yelled as he curled his arm that was hiding behind a tree trunk with its bark shot off, taking out a Force Potion and injecting it into himself.
"Fight, we just have to do it!" Sword Ki Long River and Ten Mile Tiger Roar and a few other Nine-Star Guild players quickly took out potions and applied them as well.
At the start, Feng Luo had provided the Nine-Star Guild with ten Quasi-Force Potions; other than the one used by Frontline Command. The remaining were with the Nine-Star Guild members with the best equipment previously allocated by Deputy President Zi Wei to the breakthrough team.
Of course, the attribute of this potion attracted a huge group of the enemy.
However, what was a little unlucky was that Zi Wei had died in the previous first round of attacks.
As the Nine-Star Guild Deputy President, moreover a female Deputy President of extremely high influence, was rare in super guilds like the Nine-Star Guild, she was first focused on by the North City people's firepower – even Uncle Lin had died from attempting to protect her and absorbing most of the attacks.
"Let's fight!" Big Pineapple and Phoenix exchanged glances before taking out and using their Force Potions from their backpacks.
Feng Luo certainly had some spare goods in his hands. At such an important time, he was prepared to no longer keep it a secret as he tossed one to Green Arrow and Zhao Yun.
Compared to the size of the team before, there were currently 20 people left and only 11 of them were long-range professions.
The North City players on the other side, based on their firearms, even for just long-range Gunners, there were more than 20 people.
The number of people on the two sides was seriously unequal. However, with the Quasi-Force Potions and when they could engage their Legendary equipment skills, it would not be completely impossible to eliminate the gap.
"Boom!"
A yellow glowing object appeared on Big Pineapple's Alloy Shield. A ball shape formed on the surface of the shield, and when the bullets hit this "ball shield," they instantly bounced right off into the air and onto the ground.
Of course, this shield was a piece of Legendary equipment. It was not the Legendary equipment he had exchanged for from the Agent equipment warehouse, but a piece of Legendary equipment given by the Nine-Star Guild for enemy-baiting.
"Weng, weng, weng!"
The drab looking Manipulator robe on Zhao Yun started to light up, and over ten Energy Forcefields appeared, floating in the air in the surrounding area.
Thereafter, these Energy Forcefields quickly flew to each person, attaching to them in the moments of participation before the battle.
Group Energy Forcefields, this was a godly team battle skill.
The other forcefields were okay. The thing was that this forcefield had come from Zhao Yun who was also known as the "Shell God."
"Gurgle!"
Phoenix did not immediately use her Force Potion as her Exquisite blade included a skill that was an attack skill and could not be used before getting into close-combat.
However, she had summoned her pet Jelly, who ate a khaki-colored Energy Crystal Core that was being digested by at a speed visible with the naked eye.
"Ping!"
"-9032!"
In comparison, Feng Luo was simply violent. With a gunshot from the Wings of Death, another white light of death appeared across at the first base.
["You have killed a competitive player, earned second-generation Basic Biochip *4, second-generation Intermediate…"]

Chapter 632: Pissed-Off North City Players
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
This was a battle with unpredictable outcomes of win and loss.
Although the North City people did not have Force Potions, they had secured the first attack, the advantage of having the defense of the base, and their numbers were almost double that of their opponent after sneak killing many people.
Although the Storm City people had Force Potions and could use Legendary equipment skills because they were now at a place with no hardcover and the surrounding trees were loose with shrubs and vegetation cover, their ability to be blocked from bullets was limited. However, there was no way to solve the problem of having very little cover.
1
"Tch tch…" Throughout the process of the clash of Snipers, 24K had jumped off Feng Luo's shoulder earlier and was hidden behind a brain-sized rock on the ground where the bullets could not reach.
When Feng Luo had killed the North City Sniper, a black hole had formed and a two-meter sized Steel Beetle crawled out using its body to block the massive waves of bullets fired from the North City players weapons.
With the North City players' equipment, even an Elite-Grade Steel Beetle with even stronger physical defense and health of up to 10,000 would still be killed in a few seconds.
However, just like facing those mecha guards from before, Steel Beetles are wild beasts and their corpses would not disappear after death and could still serve as a barrier for the Storm City players.
The Storm City players were shocked at first, upon being reminded by Feng Luo they used the Steel Beetle's protection to start counter-attacking the people of North City.
"Pu, Pu, Pu…"
Other than the Steel Beetles, all the Spray Beetles that had restored some of their venom had been called onto the battlefield by Feng Luo as well. There were more Bladed Beetles than before when they only appeared to face the Spider Mecha Guards briefly.
Steel Beetles, Bladed Beetles, Spray Beetles…defense, assassination, long-range… Feng Luo generously summoned his beetle troops.
Despite the continuous deaths, as new beetle troops continued endlessly crawling out from the black hole, the victory of this battle was starting to tilt from the side of the North City towards the side of the Storm City.
Perhaps, in a large-scale battle of hundreds of people, the less than a total of 100 combat beetles with an average level of less than Level-40 would not have much of a determining effect.
However, in such a small team battle where both sides added together were not over 50 people, having up to 100 beetles with over half of them being Elite-Grade beasts was a great bargaining chip.
"F*ck me, who can tell me what the sh*t is that on that side?"
"How come a Storm City person can control beasts too?"
"How did the Storm City people's combat power suddenly become so strong? That Heavy Armored Warrior absorbed a magazine of bullets and didn't shed a single drop of blood – the full capacity of submachine gun bullets that was powerful enough to break through the metallic wall of this base."
The North City players were pissed off. After all, while relying on their advantage in the sudden attack, they had initially thought that they had secured victory.
Their manpower loss was serious – starting with 500 players and were left with less than 100 now, and there were only not even 40 people here.
Their opponents had even fewer people, and they only had to kill the three targeted characters: Sword Ki Long River, Ten Mile Tiger, and that not famous Feng Zhi Luo Ye, and all would fall under their hands.
In addition to making use of the abilities of the team's Scouts to dodge the attacks from the rebellion behind them, North City would become this reclamation's final winner.
In comparison to being forced by the Rebel Army to a humiliating flee previously, this was their point of return and redemption.
Just who would have thought that after retreating for a while, the Storm City players that initially had over ten people sneak-killed, would suddenly jump out acting aroused as if they had taken aphrodisiacs with a huge increase in all their combat power.
The feedback from a Legendary-Grade Recon Meter showed that huge amounts of "Force waves" had appeared from the team on the other side.
The Force?
Of course, no one would think that the Storm City players would suddenly, at such a time as this, collectively awaken their Forces.
There was only one reason this could be so; they had temporarily possessed the Force from using some special method that would engage their Legendary-Grade equipment skills.
"Son of a b*tch, the Storm City people have played such a dirty move!" The North City players were all full of envy, jealousy, and hate.
Despite this change, they still felt in their hearts that their chance of victory was larger.
Although Legendary skills were powerful, they were not considered invincible, especially when the Storm City people had lost their sense of direction and were placed into a passive spot where they were being attacked and had an insufficient defense.
Even though they had full-sets Legendary equipment, it meant death if they jumped out and were targeted by opposing firepower.
Still, when the other side suddenly emerged with a huge number of beasts, the North City players were on the verge of cursing.
How did these beasts suddenly appear?
The Levels of these beasts known as "XX Beetles" did not seem high, but not only were their numbers high but their combat power was also considered not weak.
That gigantic type of Steel Beetle could not be completely drilled though by a B-Grade bullet and it continuously counterattacked with laser beams while the Spray Beetles' venom would make one instantly suffer from a negative stat that was continuously compounded. As for those Bladed Beetles, although they were close-combat, they had dispersed towards the surrounding area, as if trying to surround their position.
"Damn it, there's no way of taking down these beetles!" Some people could not help but curse out loud.
The beetle troops were not that rad. After all, other than the Steel Beetle, both the Bladed Beetles and Spray Beetles were very weak. In the hands of top players, one attack would essentially be able to kill one of them.
If it were Manipulators, especially Fire Manipulators, just one skill would be enough to kill a whole group of them.
However, if there were Manipulators on the other side, Feng Luo would not have summoned so many beetles to join in the battle.
To be able to ambush them in advance, the North City team was only formed by Gunner and Warrior players who could move quickly.
In the end, they were lacking in true continuous range damage. Although the firepower of machine guns was great, not only do the ammo chains have to be changed but after continuous firing, a cooldown would be needed in addition to the gun barrel had to be changed.
Although the number of people opposite were two times larger than on this side, with the counterattack of the beetle troops together with the Storm City players who had one by one taken Force Potions, the combat between the two sides had seen the side of the Storm City players securing the upper hand.
After all, while the Warriors had no way of advancing, the main thing was still the effect of long-range attacks.
Although the North City people had more than ten long-range professions, with the wormhole continuously producing Beetle soldiers, there were an entire 100 Spray Beetles and Steel Beetles which could fire laser beams on this side.
Not to mention when Jelly had finally digested the Earth Energy Crystal Core, it spit a cannon-like "stone ball" directly from its mouth that smashed into the players' position at the first base. Like the "rock ball" monster from before, these stone balls exploded into pieces, forcing the North City players to have to flee.
The conclusion of the battle was roughly understood.

Chapter 633: Poison Snake vs Black Eagle
After five minutes, the North City players had lost over 80% of their long-range profession members and could not do anything but choose to retreat to the other side of the first base because if they did not retreat now, they would be surrounded by the Bladed Beetles and would have to fight them in close-combat.
"Bang! Bang!"
Feng Luo continued firing the Wings of Death and took out two North City players and gained several pieces of battle loot.
After that, he commanded the Bladed Beetles and returned after making it seem like he was giving chase for a moment.
It was natural that he did not let the Bladed Beetles pursue them. While the enemy did not have many long-range attackers left, they still have over a dozen melee combatants. If the Bladed Beetles were to chase after them, it was highly likely the beetles would be wiped out.
The Bladed Beetles were not the only ones who did not continue chasing the enemy, as even the players from Storm City did not pursue them because their remaining numbers were a lot smaller than the North City players.
Initially, they had almost 30 people when they got to their current location. However, after the battle, they only had 11 players left, and most of them had low HP remaining. It was only because Feng Luo had the self-healing Force ability that he was in a better situation compared to the other ten.
Even though the Rebel Army was currently obstructed and delayed by the Biohazard Crisis, there was no telling if or when they would catch up to them.
At that moment, a retreat was the only choice because the area behind the first base had been cleared of monsters when the team moved over there.
As such, after five minutes, the remaining 11 players finally reached the beach where they first disembarked without any obstruction.
Half of the dark red sun had popped up from the sea's horizon and the lights of the military ship still floating on the ocean's surface could be seen.
It was dawn.
"Hurry up! Everyone, push the boat into the water!" The player who became the temporary commander shouted while panting.
To prevent a situation where they were unable to bring their vehicles out due to being in combat mode, the team left a couple of speedboats near the shore earlier when they first arrived on the island.
When the player spoke, the group quickly ran towards the location were speedboats were left.
However, suddenly…
"Boom!"
Sand and pebbles flew into the air as if several explosions had occurred atop the seemingly normal beach.
Accompanying the flying sand and pebbles were eight black-masked human shadows wearing black robes and holding long blades in their hands, as well as multiple cross-shaped purple darts that were rotating at high-speed.
"Puff, puff, puff…"
The temporary commander and another Nine-Star Guild gunner player, both of whom were walking in front, instantly had darts cover their body before two flashes of the white light of death flashed across the beach.
The eight black human figures did not hesitate to charge at the remaining players.
"It's the Rebel Army's ninjas!" Phoenix dodged a poisoned cross-shaped dart flying towards her face while exclaiming in surprise.
"Everyone, be careful!" By then, no one had time to think about the reason why the Rebel Army's ninjas were hiding here. Their only choice was to fight.
The good thing was that while the situation was sudden, the remaining players were not slow to react.
"Kill!" Ten Mile Tiger shouted. He then threw a strong fist that pierced the air towards a ninja charging towards him.
He was not holding a traditional weapon. Instead, he was using a black boxing glove as his weapon, as his hidden profession was a Martial Art Expert.
Players with this profession could obtain high damage bonus special attack effects whenever they were engaged in melee combat. However, the weakness was that the player needed to use special weapons such as the boxing glove to maximize the attack potential.
"Puff!"
However, Ten Mile Tiger's mighty punch only hit thin air. Instead, his chest was cut by the smaller-sized ninja who dodged his punch by a hair's length. His loose martial art uniform was also slashed by the cut while the area that was cut was smeared in a green substance.
As a melee combatant, even though he was not restrained by gears or equipment, he wore profession-specific armor and items to make fighting more convenient.
"-4067!"
The result was that the cut directly inflicted a Weak Point Damage on him.
After his defense was broken, a damage of over 4,000 was high enough to be frightening. Besides, the area that was cut was also quickly going numb.
The good thing was that his profession's specialty was high HP and his total HP was over 40,000. Even after taking that hit, he only lost one-tenth of his total HP.
However, while Ten Mile Tiger could withstand the ninja's sneak attack, the other players might not be able to withstand it.
Jing Kong and another gunner player were taken out instantly after a ninja got in front of each of them. They died so quickly they did not have time to bring out their guns.
At the moment, all the gunners in the team, apart from Feng Luo, had been wiped out.
"Clang!"
Even Feng Luo, who became a target of the ninjas, was not able to prevent the ninjas from getting close to him. After he raised Wings of Death, a ninja had got close to him.
The gray blade flashed, and Feng Luo reacted as fast as he could and was forced to raise Wings of Death to block the attack. As Wings of Death got into contact with the ninja's blade, it was immediately cut in half.
This sniper rifle was most certainly very unlucky.
Players' weapons were not easily damaged. However, this new rifle that was already broken once before when being handled by the doctor earlier, was once again cut in half.
Even Old John would most probably complain if he were to see the state of the rifle right now. Of course, concerning Old John's attitude, Feng Luo did not have the time to think about it at that moment.
"Puff!"
"-234!"
Since the ninja's first attack was pretty much blocked by the body of the Wings of Death, even though the blade did land on Feng Luo's body, it did not break through the SUV combat uniform's defense.
After noticing that his first attack was not effective, the Rebel Army ninja quickly turned around to follow-up with a second attack. As he did so, Feng Luo managed to bring out Ghost Weep just in the nick of time.
"Clang!"
The gray and slightly green poisonous ninja blade clashed together with Ghost Weep. After that, both remained still as a battle of strength ensued.
Ninjas should be categorized as a warrior profession. However, they were not equipped with alloy armor which meant that their main stat was not strength, and why it should not be too high. Their main stat was probably agility.
As such, even though Feng Luo was not a full-fledged warrior, in a situation where Ghost Weep was used hastily, he was still able to block the second blade attack.
"Die!" However, even though the second attack was blocked, the eyes showing through the ninja's fully covered head mask emanated a murderous aura.
"Whoosh!"
The gray poisonous ninja blade spun as if it were a poison snake. The slash instantly changed into a forward thrust. The blade slid past Ghost Weep's blade and headed straight to Feng Luo's chest.
The ninjas' weapons were all coated with poison. Through previous experiences, Feng Luo was quite confident that the poison was a type of drug that caused the affected area to go numb after a few seconds.
It was clear that being cut by the blade would be incredibly fatal.
"Pa!"
The ninja blade that acted similar to a poisonous snake was suddenly held by a tactical glove that looked like a black eagle.
The Black Eagle tactical glove was covered by a layer of invisible Force. The attached Force skill, "Eagle Hunt," was already activated. Similar to the claws of an eagle holding onto a poisonous snake, the hand clad in the glove was now holding the sharp blade.
The Legendary-Grade tactical glove's Defense Coefficient far exceeded the B-Grade after the skill was activated. Not to mention the ninja's blade, which should be a Rare-Grade or even a Legendary-Grade weapon would have troubles piercing through its defense.
"Chik!"
On the other side, after holding the blade, Feng Luo's right arm, which had now doubled in size, was holding a dark red blade that was covered in black energy, Ghost Weep. He swung the weapon down quickly and, amidst the masked ninja's glare, slit his throat.
"-6078!"
Red color Fatal Damage.
Fresh blood sprayed out of the slit neck.
Due to the defensive equipment surrounding the neck, the damage was not extensive and his throat was not completely slit. It might have also been the result of some extreme training.
Nonetheless, this allowed the ninja to remain alive. However, even after his neck was slit by Feng Luo, this ninja did not back down, retreat, or try to use his hand to block his wound to prevent blood from spraying out. Instead, hate and wrath filled his glaring eyes while both his hands let go of the ninja blade that Feng Luo was holding. He then raised his left hand and grabbed firmly onto Ghost Weep, which was swinging towards him once more!
"Hua!"
At the same time, there was movement near the right sleeve of the ninja's robe. A dark green long dart covered in a foul stench popped out, and he used it to thrust towards Feng Luo's chest.
"Savage…" Even Feng Luo could not help but curse at the ninja after seeing him lose two fingers to Ghost Weep's blade due to insufficient defense and the angry and bloodthirsty glare on the ninja's face after getting his throat slit.
After he got a hold of Ghost Weep, unless he decided to let go, which meant surrendering Ghost Weep, he could not retreat. It became impossible for him to dodge the sharp weapon headed straight for his heart.

Chapter 634: Death Match
If the dart coated with poison pierced into one's heart, the consequences would be quite dire.
"Don't you think you're a little too overconfident?" Feng Luo's pair of widened eyes stared straight at the bloodthirsty ninja. Their eyes locked and a mocking sneer suddenly appeared on Feng Luo's face.
"Puff!"
The force pushing the Ghost Weep army knife that the ninja was currently holding, suddenly increased substantially. In an instant, three of the ninja's fingers were sliced off and the dark red blade effortlessly sliced through the side of the Rebel Army ninja's neck.
"-5678!"
Ghost Weep, with the attached bonus skill activated, was able to combat against the strength of a Tyrant. For a blade like that, was it even possible for a mere Level-50 Commander-Grade agility type monster to hold it in place using his bare hands?
"Clang!"
At the same time, Feng Luo's body was suddenly covered with a layer of dark red "armor."
The Rebel Army ninja's dagger-like dart that he thrust towards Feng Luo's chest bounced back forcefully upon making contact with the armor.
Ghost Weep, Eagle Hunt, Blood Armor… Three Force skills… Feng Luo did not hold back and activated all three skills. Additionally, he also did something else.
"Pa!"
The military knife sliced half of the Rebel Army ninja's neck off. In the situation where the bleeding damage would have been enough to kill the ninja, Feng Luo released his right hand gripping the military knife and used his hand directly that was equipped with the eagle-claw structured Black Eagle tactical glove to slice across the ninja's chest.
"-2355!"
Although it was only a yellow Weak Point Damage, with the defense of the ninja being broken paired with the bonus granted by the Force skill, "Master Martial Arts," the barehanded attack still inflicted over 2,000 damage.
This was sufficient to empty the ninja's HP, which was never all that high in the first place.
"Pu!"
The ninja fell backward and dropped to the ground, twitching. His neck, with the severed artery, continued to spray blood on the ground. Similarly, his chest also had five bleeding wounds that each looked as if a knife had sliced through them.
After the ninja's death, three or four glowing items dropped to the ground.
[You've killed Rebel Army Intermediate Ninja (Level-50 Commander-Grade). Kill Contribution: 100%. Obtained Experience: 2,000.]
"Whoosh!"
However, before Feng Luo could even see what had dropped on the ground, another black shadow accompanied by a grayish sword flashed approximately ten meters in front of him before it charged towards him.
After killing four gunner players instantly, the ninja-to-player ratio was eight to seven.
At the moment, after Feng Luo unexpectedly and successfully got rid of one of the ninjas, another ninja that was charging towards Sword Ki Long River while he was holding a device, suddenly changed his target.
"Whoosh!"
These ninjas were insanely fast. A distance of over ten meters was but a few tenths of a second to them.
After entering the ten meters range, the ninja leaped straight into the air. With both of his hands holding a pair of grayish-white ninja blades, he slashed down at Feng Luo.
"Bang!"
However, to Feng Luo, a few tenths of a second not only meant there was time for him to activate the skill, "Raging Charge," to increase the gap between them, but it also meant that there was time for him to bring out his gun.
The Wings of Death was destroyed after fighting with the first ninja. Moreover, a sniper rifle was too big and was not suited for close-range combat. However, every gunner would always have a backup gun that was suited for close-range battles.
"Boom!"
The ninja, who had supposedly reached his target, was directly hit by a super high caliber pistol bullet to the stomach.
"-3266!"
Feng Luo did not have enough time to aim due to the situation. With one of his hands still holding Ghost Weep in a reverse grip, his shot was a little off-target due to the lack of stability when firing the Tyrant pistol. However, the rare attribute of the Tyrant pistol would activate even if the shot did not hit the intended target. The ninja in the air was sent to the ground by a powerful force.
Even though the Weak Point damage number was not all that high since the Rebel Army ninja was a humanoid monster that did not have a high amount of HP, it still had one-fourth of its total HP.
This meant that Feng Luo only needed four shots to kill this bastard. If he inflicted a Fatal Damage, he would only need three shots to make it happen.
For a close-range battle against an agility type Commander-Grade monster like this, where would he get the opportunity to fire three shots, let alone three shots powerful enough to kill this monster?
One might not even have the chance to get a second shot in.
"Boom!"
The tip of the ninja's sword was unable to reach Feng Luo due to the "Knockback" effect of the Tyrant pistol. However, after he landed on the ground, a small explosion occurred the moment the ninja's foot touched the ground. White smoke emerged and engulfed the ninja before he vanished instantly.
What made this even more difficult was that unlike the Wings od Death, the Tyrant pistol did not have a target lock function.
"Whoosh!"
After a few tenths of a second passed since the white smoke appeared, the sound of sharp weapons slicing through the air could be heard from Feng Luo's left and right.
Grayish sword flashes, in the current dawn break environment, were particularly blinding.
"Pa!"
Feng Luo's "Blood Armor" was completely shattered the moment the Rebel Army ninja's blade struck his body.
The Blood Armor's defense strength depended on the Life Protozoa's percentage and number. In the earlier battles, he had consumed quite a lot of Life Protozoa. At the moment, his defense was no longer strong enough to block the skill attack.
"Bang!"
Luckily, taking on that slash was not completely without its merit, as the Tyrant pistol that Feng Luo held instantly fired a counterattack.
"-3050!"
However, the Rebel Army ninja's reaction speed was just too ridiculous. In an instant, he made an evasive maneuver and the shot did not strike the weak point around his chest area, hitting his left arm instead.
"Whoosh!"
Although the ninja's left arm was hit, the gray long blade coated with poison the Rebel Army ninja held continued swinging non-stop. After shattering Feng Luo's "armor," his arm changed direction and angle. Accompanied by an ear-piercing sound, the blade thrust towards Feng Luo's chest.
"Pa!"
"-5067!"
The SUV combat uniform was pierced straight through. Apart from the uniform, Feng Luo's chest and back were also punctured. This included the lobe of the lung in between his chest and the back.
Although the combat uniform reduced the power of the attack, the thrust was still strong enough to take out almost half of Feng Luo's current HP, since the HP bonus provided by the Life Protozoa was currently quite low.
"Pa!"
Even with his chest punctured and he was suffering through immeasurable pain, Feng Luo still had a "cruel" smile on his face. He raised his left arm and caught the ninja's arm holding the ninja blade. His right hand was holding the Tyrant pistol and aimed the gun at the ninja's head.
The ninja's pupils shrunk instantly. However, his face did not seem all that perplexed or anxious.
As the ninja moved its head sideways to avoid the muzzle of the pistol, the other hand that was not gripped by Feng Luo moved upward quickly toward the gun barrel of the Tyrant pistol.
He was confident that he would be able to reach and push the muzzle of the Tyrant pistol sideways before Feng Luo could fire a shot.
However, at that moment, he suddenly felt a powerful shock on the side of his head before his vision blurred, causing the hand that swung towards the Tyrant pistol to miss.
The skill, "Mental Attack," required a lot of psionic energy to cast and was obtained by 24K in the previous evolution.
Concerning using it on a target with strong determination and will like the ninja, the skill effect of the Mental Attack skill was undoubtedly quite difficult.
However, an instant of lost concentration was more than enough.
"Bang!"
"-6067!"
Gunshot. Bright red Fatal Damage.
Red and white liquid burst forth like a crushed watermelon.
[You've killed Rebel Army Intermediate Ninja (Level-50 Commander). Kill Contribution: 100%. Obtained Experience: 2,000.]
"Phew!" Feng Luo panted heavily a few times.
This battle lasted less than ten seconds and it seemed simple enough. However, its danger was far higher than a battle against a long-range player.
As a Sniper, while his second profession was a Light Armor Warrior, he did not learn the mainstream skills. If he were to fight against the ninja using the conventional methods and allowed the enemy to use a few more skills, even with the Force Armor, he would most probably die after receiving consecutive attacks as well as control skills.
As for the previous two battles, he won mostly due to the unconventional and surprising attack methods. Otherwise, Feng Luo might have ended up like the other four gunner players.

Chapter 635: The Last Mighty Enemy
"Die…" Even though Feng Luo took care of two ninjas, the situation on the battlefield was not looking great for the Storm City people.
Ten Mile Tiger had a gray ninja blade sticking out of his chest as he lay on the ground while staring at the sky. A bunch of items, including the core information chip, dropped on the ground beside him.
The good thing was that a ninja was lying right beside him with its neck snapped by Ten Mile Tiger's bare hands. It was clear that the ninja was also in the Heavy Injury status and was going to die soon.
It was very close to when both of them would perish together.
"Flash!"
Zhao Yun's body was emitting the white light of death. An expression much like one would have during constipation could be seen on his face.
As a player on the same level as Sword Ki Long River who also had the title of being the "Shell God," he should have lasted a long time in this battle.
It was unfortunate that they had encountered these agile and high-damage warrior type units. No matter how high his defensive stats were, when faced against these high-attack units whose attacks were higher than the top-class players that also had high attack frequency, he could not last very long.
Apart from that, as a manipulator player, his stamina consumption throughout the journey was quite high and he no longer had much strength to dodge anymore, one of the main reasons for his defeat.
…
"These bastards' attack power sure is high!" At a third spot on the battlefield, Big Pineapple was a wreck as he continued running to avoid the blades and darts of the Rebel Army ninjas.
Big Pineapple being alive was not all that surprising, as he was now equipped with two Legendary-Grade items.
Although the incredibly heavy shield provided by the Nine-Star Guild was completely useless against the Commander-Grade ninjas' attacks, he was still equipped with the Legendary-Grade breastplate that he exchanged from the special agent equipment warehouse. It provided him with 5,000 extra HP, and with the effects of potions, his HP had exceeded the high threshold of 30,000.
When it came to defensive strength, with the "Heavy" talent, his physical defense was a few times higher than Ten Mile Tiger, it was natural that he would not die so easily.
However, at the fourth location on the battlefield, Phoenix was still holding off the attacks of a ninja.
Feng Luo was surprised after seeing this because Phoenix's strength was, undoubtedly, not among the best in their group. One could even say that she was at the bottom. She was still around at the end because of her possession of Jelly, which made the Nine-Star Guild decide to protect her as much as possible.
However, at the moment, the people from the NIne-Star Guild could barely keep themselves alive. With Zhao Yun and Ten Mile Tiger gone, Phoenix was still alive and had more than half of her HP remaining.
However, seeing that Jelly was no longer around, Feng Luo quickly understood the reason.
Although Jelly did not have any attack power, if it did not activate the "cannon" mode and charge forward to protect its master, it was still a tank with more than 20,000 HP.
Apart from that, another reason Phoenix was able to remain alive until that point was also partly thanks to her equipment set.
As top class items designed by Old John, the dynamic armor set had no gaps during combat, and its defense coefficient was amazing.
After the ninja killed Jelly, he had struck Phoenix a few times, but all the attacks were well defended by Phoenix's armor set, so the damage was never too high.
"Yes, Sword Ki Long River's combat style, it is like…" When Feng Luo looked over the fifth fight on the battlefield, he could not hide the surprise from his face.
In a battle against a ninja, Sword Ki Long River was in a disadvantageous position.
However, this was not the reason for Feng Luo's surprise. The reason was that Sword Ki Long River was still holding the suitcase which held the chip equipment with his left hand, and he was fighting with only his right arm holding a weapon. As such, it was not all that weird for him to not be able to maximize his strength.
What surprised Feng Luo was Sword Ki Long River's one-handed sword combat skills.
The golden Legendary-Grade sword was supposed to be used two-handed but was wielded so smoothly and so elegantly in Sword Ki Long River's single free hand that it looked as if it was a one-handed sword.
Of course, the number of players who could do this was not all that small in War, so it was not worth Feng Luo's surprised expression.
Feng Luo was so surprised was because, apart from the amazing one-handed swordsmanship displayed by Sword Ki Long River, his footsteps that continued to shift and move had reminded Feng Luo about something familiar.
"Wushu?"
This action felt familiar to Feng Luo because Sword Ki Long River's one-handed combat style highly resembled a Chinese martial art sword skill routine that he had seen before on a TV show back in his Earth days.
Of course, those routines were only performances that pursued aestheticism, while Sword Ki Long River's skill routine was a lot less appealing visually; however, practically speaking, they were a lot better.
Faced against the ninja's flurry of attacks, he was able to block most attacks with just one hand. He even managed to release a few sharp and precise counterattacks in-between skillsets.
"Bang!"
While thinking, Feng Luo's hands never stopped moving. He aimed his rifle and fired a bullet at the ninja who had just finished off Zhao Yun and was charging towards Sword Ki Long River, intending to execute a pincer attack.
In truth, while it seemed like Feng Luo had been observing for a long time, Feng Luo processed the information very quickly in his mind with just a glance. As such, no delay would have affected the battle.
…
After half a minute, before dawn broke, the final battle finally ended.
On the ground lay the corpses of the eight ninjas. However, seven of the players had also transformed into white lights.
After the battle, there were only four survivors left including Phoenix, Feng Luo, Big Pineapple, and Sword Ki Long River.
Among the four who took part in the special agent profession change mission, three of them survived.
And among the 250 players from Nine-Star Guild, only one was left. If news of this were to get out, the three of them would gain a rise in fame.
Of course, the data was not accurate, as some of the people were still on the island.
Some of the Nine-Star Guild players that stayed behind during their retreat, the players who dropped off the group during battles, as well as some who chose to retreat individually or by smaller groups after learning that the three players who obtained key items would have their position revealed.
As such, the real number of survivors was more than just the four of them. However, there was no doubt that the mission had suffered a huge loss.
…
After a few minutes, the sun rose into the sky and white mist began to appear above the ocean surface.
"Rumble…"
A black assault boat sped across the ocean surface at maximum speed, leaving white waves in its wake. It was quickly getting closer to the military ship which had just released the extendable ramp.
Facing the boat, about a dozen or so Nine-Star Guild players who stayed back as guards looked at them in delight.
Sword Ki Long River was holding the core device and led the way. Phoenix and Big Pineapple were walking in the middle of the group said with a lamenting tone, "Finally! It is finished!"
One could say that the mission was a lot of hard work. Although it was only one night, the process was grueling and they did not have a single moment to rest.
At that time, the mission was finished. Everyone could finally get on the ship and sleep or go offline to rest.
However, at that moment, while walking at the back of the group, Feng Luo suddenly shouted to the three people in front of him as his expression drastically changed, "Be careful!"
The expression of the others had changed drastically, the Nine-Star Guild players that stayed behind and were still smiling at them.
"Sword God, be careful!"
"Boom!"
However, both shouts were just a tad too late.
The ocean surface around the ship that seemed completely normal suddenly had a water pillar burst into the air. From within emerged a sword-wielding human figure. From behind them, the figure leaped over Phoenix and Big Pineapple and landed directly behind Sword Ki Long River.
Sword Ki Long River's chest was directly pierced by a gray alloy sword, and with a look of disbelief, the white light of death engulfed his body.
Returning to the human figure, it directly reached out to grab the suitcase holding the core device that was falling into the sea after Sword Ki Long River relaxed his grip as he died.
"Ding!"
However, the human figure did not manage to grab a hold of the suitcase.
Just as his hands reached the suitcase, the suitcase was hit by some object and it bounced back into the air.
Feng Luo threw Ghost Weep and the back of the knife hit the suitcase from the side.
With the bonus provided by the skill, "Throw," the suitcase carrying the core device was sent flying into the air, brushing past the fingertips of the alloy-sword-wielding human figure before flying towards the military ship.
"Whoosh!"
However, the human figure's reaction speed was just as fast. He extended his hands to press against the hull of the ship, and then, like a hawk, he flipped his body over and onto the deck.
"Hurry, get up there!" Feng Luo shouted and the three of them also climbed up onto the military ship using the fastest method they knew.
On the military ship, the dozen or so Nine-Star Guild players had brought out their weapons. They stared angrily at the human figure standing on the deck of the ship, an NPC with stone-cold eyes and a knife scar on his face, holding the pet biochip core device with his left hand and a gray golden longsword in his right hand.
A wanted criminal with a bounty of over 10 million credits. The pirate captain of the Rebel Army camp for the mission – Hawkeye.
Even then, as the mission was ending, they still had to fight this one last Boss.

Chapter 636: Almighty
"It is the pirate captain, a Level-65 Commander-Grade unit. F*cking hell, its Wanted rank is Grade-A, and his bounty is 10 million credits!" By the time Feng Luo and the other two got on the deck, the Nine-Star Guild players that stayed behind to guard the military ship and were now incredibly angry due to Sword Ki Long River being ambushed and killed had used the Detection skill on the NPC pirate captain and obtained his information, causing their eyes to light up.
"10 million credits!" Although these players were also among the elites of Nine-Star Guild, they were not superstar players who earned a lot of credits. A 10 million credit bounty was attractive.
After all, an average Rare-Grade item was worth around that much.
Even if one was a superstar player, 10 million credits were still quite tempting. After all, it was equal to one million Star Coins; and the enemy was holding their mission item.
As such, even though they were somewhat cautious of the NPC who had just finished off Sword Ki Long River in a second, a few of the Nine-Star Guild players still charged directly at him.
After all, a Level-65 Commander-Grade unit should not have the ability to continuously one-hit players.
"Let's go, don't let him get away!" Eight warrior players directly charged at the pirate captain Commander-Grade monster from various directions, to ensure the NPC had no way of escaping from the ship directly with the suitcase in hand.
"Ice Blade!" On the other hand, a few manipulator players cast energy shields on themselves while preparing other attacking skills.
One of them, a Water Manipulator, was very spontaneous quick-witted. With a flash coming from his energy converter, the water that was shot out into the air and had landed on the deck due to Hawkeye's earlier action instantly condensed and transformed into a dozen or so translucent ice blades, flying towards Hawkeye from behind.
It was both an offensive and defensive maneuver.
"Ta, ta, ta…"
Apart from that, a Scout player had also raised his submachine gun and was firing a flurry of shots at Hawkeye.
A bunch of bullets, energy skills, as well as players came at Hawkeye from all sides… If it were a player, even if it were Feng Luo, death was the inevitable outcome.
However, for this Level-65 Commander-Grade NPC, it was nothing.
"Pa, pa, pa!"
The projectile speed of the bullets and the ice blades were faster than a human's running speed. As such, the bullets and ice blades were upon the pirate captain commander in an instant.
However, the moment these long-range attacks were released, at the center of it all, Hawkeye looked as if he had predicted everything. With his cold stare, he simply stepped one foot sideways and shifted his body; resulting in half of the long-range attacks landing in an empty spot.
While the remaining half hit the pirate captain, they did not deal any damage to him, because a formless "armor" had suddenly appeared over the shirtless body of the pirate captain commander that had just dived and appeared before the group. The armor simply bounced off the remaining attacks that hit him.
A defensive type of Force skill.
NPCs who had awakened the Force were much better at using it and understood it better. Additionally, the Force was much more useful when it came to attacks instead of defense.
The gray longsword that the pirate captain commander was holding had turned gloomily dark.
As a Light Armor Warrior swung his sword down at the pirate captain commander with the momentum generated from the Charge skill, being the first among all the attackers, Hawkeye swung his alloy sword upward with one hand to parry the attack.
"Pa!"
The vibration from the impact was so strong that the first Light Armor Warrior lost his grip on his alloy sword.
"Boom!"
"-5056!"
After that, just like lightning, Hawkeye raised his right foot and kicked at the Light Armor Warrior's gut. Apart from the over 5,000 high damage, the Light Armor Warrior was also sent sliding along the wet and slippery ship's deck for over a dozen meters.
"Pa!"
Besides, when Hawkeye was kicking the Light Armor Warrior from the side, the alloy sword he held with one hand swung towards the chest of the second arriving Light Armor Warrior.
"Boom!"
The second Light Armor Warrior was sent flying with his weapon as he slammed heavily into the cabin of the ship.
The third, fourth, and then the fifth…
In the blink of an eye, among the eight melee combatants who charged at the pirate captain; apart from the three slower Heavy Armor Warriors, all five of the Light Armor Warriors were hacked, slashed, and sent flying away.
"F*ck me!" The situation compelled the Nine-Star Guild players who stayed behind to exclaim in shock.
The recon meters of the Scout players were unable to gather information about the pirate captain's use or possession of the Force. As such, even though they initially thought that his level was high, they were still quite confident of their abilities.
After all, they were not newbies and weaklings, and while they did not have any Legendary-Grade items with them, as players who were specifically tasked to defend the ship, they were not your average players. Around 10 to 20 players taking out a Commander-Grade monster wouldn't have been too difficult for them.
However, none of them had expected that this Commander-Grade humanoid monster would be so much stronger than what they had imagined.
"Everyone, clear out a path!" However, at that time, the remaining three manipulator players had completed the preparation for their skill. They raised their hands and were prepared to release their skills unto Hawkeye.
However, before they could release their skills, Hawkeye glared towards them as if he had already detected this.
"Whoosh!"
As the three manipulators were looking confused, Hawkeye swung his gray alloy sword that had just cut down five Light Armor Warriors at them.
"Boom!"
A black half-crescent "Energy Layer," or more precisely, a "Force Layer," appeared from the sword. Sliding along the ship's deck, it flew across the deck and zoomed past the three manipulator players that had energy shields covering their body a dozen meters away.
"Puff, puff, puff!"
"-5956, -6088, -5870…"
After that… Well, there wasn't an after that… Three red Fatal Damage numbers popped up above their respective heads and three white lights of death followed.
"Ta, ta, ta…"
On the other side of the deck came the sounds of gunfire.
A Machine Gunner who was tasked to stay behind to guard the ship was manning a six-barrelled electromagnetic railgun that had been repaired after being destroyed by the sea serpent and was firing at Hawkeye.
"Pa, pa, pa!"
Just like before, Hawkeye shuffled his feet quickly and avoided most of the bullets as if he had predicted them in advance. Although he was still hit by a few bullets, the six-barrelled electromagnetic railgun that was substantially weakened due to being operated by a player was not able to break through the formless shield covering Hawkeye's body.
After Hawkeye dodged the first round of bullets, he quickly shifted his position and positioned himself right in front of the shield of a Nine-Star Guild Heavy Armor Warrior that made it impossible for the Machine Gunner's shots to follow.
If that were only the case, it was still not enough to warrant or accentuate the Grade-A Wanted criminal of this cold-eyed criminal.
"Whoosh!"
After getting in front of the shield of a Heavy Armor Warrior, Hawkeye did not stop his footsteps. Rather, he kicked with one foot on the hilt of the alloy sword which was earlier sent flying to the ground earlier by him.
The over 10-kilogram alloy sword, under this powerful kick, flew towards the Machine Gunner operating the six-barrelled electromagnetic railgun as if it were a cannon shot out of a chamber.
"Boom!"
The Machine Gunner was engulfed by the white light of death as blood, flesh, and parts of the now-crushed railgun burst into the air.

Chapter 637: Phoenix Awaken!
Powerful, undeniably powerful.
Although up until that point, the battle only saw the deaths of three manipulators and a Machine Gunner, the strong showing by the NPC pirate captain commander had helped the players experience and understand the melee combat capabilities of a warrior who had awakened the Force.
With a swing of the sword, multiple players were sent flying a dozen or so meters away, some players were even hacked in half along with their armor before being sent flying back.
Scenes like these were more visually intense than the battle between Haruko and Hunting Tiger on that rainy night during the special agent profession change mission when they saw a pavilion get crushed.
The stats of these types of humanoid NPCs were not all that different from players, meaning that after warrior type players awakened the Force, they would be able to do the same things.
However, for the Nine-Star Guild players standing on the deck that stayed behind to guard the ship, at the moment, they did not have the time or energy to yearn for the power they would gain after awakening the Force.
After the pirate captain commander finished off the few long-range attackers, he was prepared to jump from the military ship into the sea with the suitcase in hand. If they were to lose the item that they had spent so many days, so many players' lives, and so much effort to finally obtain, they might as well find a sharp object and kill themselves by slamming themselves into it.
However, the Light Armor Warriors were sent flying one after another and at the moment, most of them had not yet regained their footing.
The pirate captain commander's attacks were attached with the bonus "Force attack effect." As such, the players who were hit, even though they had special bodies, the damage they suffered was still considerable.
As for the Heavy Armor Warriors, while the three of them were not hacked and sent flying, they could not keep up with the pirate captain commander's movement speed. Instead, they had turned into the pirate captain commander's shield against the players' long-range attacks.
"Bang!"
The good thing was that no matter how fast the warriors were, they could never be faster than bullets.
A sniper rifle bullet shrouded in electricity brushed past the edge of a Heavy Armor Warrior's shield and struck firmly on Hawkeye's left wrist holding the suitcase.
"-1034!"
A Weak Point Damage.
The defensive skill of the Force was not an energy shield. Technically speaking, it was only one layer of the Force. As such, if the attack was strong enough, it should still be able to get through the defense.
The attacks of submachine guns, energy skills, and machine-gun bullets that suffer from reduced damage on Commander-Grade units could not cut through the defense of the pirate captain commander; however, this did not mean that sniper rifle bullets would also fail to pierce through the defense.
Of course, even though the sniper rifle bullet managed to pierce through the Force layer, most of the impact and damage had been reduced.
Feng Luo's "Blood Armor" is a formulation of the combination between the Life Protozoa and the Force. As such, it is fundamentally more unique. In comparison, it is much more similar to an energy shield.
Besides, the rifle Feng Luo was now equipped with, the Eye of the Thunder, was a lot less powerful than the Wings of Death. As such, the shot only dealt a little over a thousand damage.
However, the positive thing was that the shot triggered the rare attribute of the Eye of the Thunder. When it hit the NPC pirate commander's arm, the electricity's numbing effect was triggered, resulting in his hand loosening, and the suitcase he was carrying fell out of his hand.
Before he could bend down to pick up the suitcase…
"Whoosh!"
A translucent alloy sword emitting a light red glow had reached the pirate captain commander's chest.
Phoenix's rare skill that had reached Expert-Level, in addition to the bonus provided by using a Legendary-Grade weapon, made the slash something not to be underestimated.
"Don't even think about it! Shield Bash!" Big Pineapple also came charging with his alloy shield raised. He used the Legendary-Grade alloy shield he was equipped with to strike against the pirate captain's chest.
Whether it was Big Pineapple, Phoenix, or Feng Luo; each of them had used four Intermediate-Grade buff potions that Lin created on themselves to significantly increase their stats.
Although this last battle against the pirate captain commander was not related to the three of them, because the Nine-Star Guild had promised to sell them Quasi-Boss pet biochips at a fraction of the original cost price it was natural that they wouldn't allow the pirate captain commander to just take away the core device.
Moreover, since they had left the island, even if they were to die in this battle, they would lose a level's worth of experience at most but the items they dropped could still be regained.
"Hmm?" Suddenly, Hawkeye felt the red fiery long sword getting closer to his body.
Similar to Feng Luo's bullet that could pierce through the Force layer, Phoenix's Legendary-Grade alloy sword that had a rare skill attached that could also threaten the pirate captain commander. As such, the pirate captain commander could not do anything but give up trying to grab the suitcase immediately. Instead, both his hands reached to pull out his two-handed alloy sword to parry Phoenix's slash using the Legendary-Grade longsword.
"Boom!"
"-5256!"
The sword flew out of Phoenix's palm before slamming heavily into her chest. After that, her feet floated into the air as her entire body flew backward.
"Puff!"
While in the air, blood spilled from her mouth as a damage number of over 5,000 popped up above her head.
For the first time since ambushing and killing Sword Ki Long River, this NPC pirate captain commander used both his hands to attack with his sword for the first time. The strength of the attack, compared to when he was wielding with one hand, was on a completely different level.
Phoenix was also equipped with Legendary-Grade defensive items provided by the Nine-Star Guild, and she was in a buffed state. However, in the end, she still lost one-third of her total HP.
However, while Phoenix was sent flying, Hawkeye's task of getting to the suitcase was still not easy.
Big Pineapple's Shield Bash was very close to his head. If he were to get hit by the basic "Godly skill" of Heavy Armor Warriors, even if he were the ultimate and mighty pirate captain commander who displayed domineering strength earlier, he would still be completely immobilized by the group of players until he died. The control skills of melee combat warriors were not something one should underestimate.
However, the same principle still applied. It was never going to be that easy to kill a high-level NPC who had awakened the Force.
"Boom!"
With his two hands gripping the sword, the alloy sword shrouded in a layer of dark matter that Hawkeye used earlier to send Phoenix flying was spun around and a black tornado seemed to appear.
"Clang, clang, clang, clang…"
"-855, -3756, -3345, -3566…"
Sounds of metal clanging against each other filled the air. Then came the sounds of warrior players being forced to scatter and retreat.
"Spinning Slash!" The Level-45 skill of Light Armor Warriors.
The good thing was that the skill's damage was not too high.
Particularly, when it came to Big Pineapple since he had a Legendary-Grade shield equipped as well as his S-Grade talent, "Heavy," he only lost around 1,000 HP.
However, after the other warrior players that were surrounding and going to attack Hawkeye backed off, Feng Luo's line of sight that should have been freed up did not attack immediately to follow up because, at that moment, Feng Luo's gaze was resting upon Phoenix. as she was lying on the ground after being hit by Hawkeye. Feng Luo seemed a little surprised.
Going back a few seconds, Hawkeye's slash made Phoenix lose her balance and fly a dozen or so meters away before landing on the deck. It was as if she was not able to stand back up again due to being the Force's attack effect.
However, when she raised her head, her eyes were different and were changing rapidly. It went from pain and anguish to calm and cold in a matter of seconds.
As her glare turned cold, a special type of power seemed to spread throughout her body.
"Hmm?" On the other side, Hawkeye had just sent all of the warrior players flying away with one slash and stopped moving suddenly, his gaze became serious and heavy for the first time.

Chapter 638: Powerful Phoenix, Kill
"That's weird, what is this feeling?" It was not just Feng Luo and the pirate captain who felt the sensation.
After Phoenix's talent, "Dark Personality," was activated, her body suddenly emanated a type of powerful aura and the system used a notification similar to the appearance of a Boss on the nearby players.
As such, among the Nine-Star Guild players who were pushed back by the pirate captain commander yet again and were no longer able to hold their weapons firmly, two Light Armor Warriors could not help but turn around.
"Holy crap, this is…" As they turned around, what filled their vision caused the two Light Armor Warriors to widen their eyes.
…
"Whoosh!"
After feeling the aura, Hawkeye hesitated for a brief moment before he quickly lowered his head to try to pick up the suitcase carrying the core device using his left hand.
"Boom!"
Right at that moment, a red Flame Blade that looked like a longsword forced him to retract his extended arm.
"Chi!"
The Flame Longsword brushed past the pirate captain commander's arm. As it struck the deck, a huge area exploded, leaving dark traces of charcoal all over the place. Even the alloy layer underneath the deck had visible traces of damage.
"So, this is a long-range attack?" After turning around, the two Light Armor Warriors that turned round looked completely confused.
They saw an attack similar to a mini version of the Level-40 ultimate manipulator skill "Sunset Sword" coming from a player wearing flame red female-style light armor and was holding a sword engulfed in golden-red flames that had doubled in size.
Besides, they were more than aware that this female player was a Light Armor Warrior. However, since when did a Light Armor Warrior have such a powerful long-range attack?
Even though the attack was somewhat different from the skill the pirate captain commander used to kill the three manipulators earlier, they seemed incredibly similar.
"Whoosh!"
Compared to the Nine-Star Guild players' shock, Phoenix was under the control of her Dark Personality and did not waste any time.
She leaped into the air and, without the need to use the skill "Thunder Leap Slash," she managed to cover a distance of over ten meters. She landed in front of the pirate captain commander that was forced to give up on trying to grab the suitcase and fight her.
Her hands gripped the hilt of the flame longsword that seemed as if it had doubled in size, and along with the searing flame, she slashed at the pirate captain commander's head.
"You…" The pirate captain commander uttered his first word since the battle began.
With his bare upper body visible, his muscles bulged up as his veins popped into view as both of his hands gripped tightly onto the alloy sword engulfed in a layer of dark matter. He swung his sword to parry Phoenix's fiery red sword, using his full strength in that strike.
"Clang!"
The sound of metal colliding into each other, the vibration and the sound it caused were so loud that the other players on the deck felt pain in their eardrums.
As for the two highly similar alloy swords, the flaming red sword and the sword so dark that it seemed like night, were stuck together after they clashed against each other. Neither was able to push the other back with that strike.
"She blocked it!" The Nine-Star Guild players looked shellshocked.
In their previous two pincer attacks, even the Heavy Armor Warriors, provided they did not use the skill, "Immovable Mountain," were all pushed back a sizable distance by the pirate captain commander's attack.
However, the only female player present on the battlefield had now exchanged blows with the pirate captain commander head-on, and she was not pushed back at all.
Since she was the one initiating the attack, hacking downward at her enemy, and was borrowing gravity and momentum, she was able to keep her footing during the exchange of blows. The previous situations also saw them as the attacking side. Faced against the pirate captain commander, they did not manage to last one round against him, wielding the sword with one hand, not to mention now when Hawkeye was holding his sword with both hands.
"That's weird. This lady player was sent flying earlier. Why is she so strong suddenly. Besides, she has a long-range attack now. The Detection skill shows that her alloy sword is now covered with unidentifiable energy… Could it be…" More surprising was what was discovered after a Scout from the Nine-Star Guild used the Detection skill on Phoenix's sword, "Exquisite."
Combined with the odd pressure they felt earlier, those who were smart and quick-witted enough had already guessed the reason.
In comparison, Feng Luo understood the situation a lot more and seemed a lot calmer than the rest of the players.
The Flaming Longsword that Dark Phoenix used had a real name, "Flame Sword." It was the Force skill attached to the Legendary-Grade weapon that Dark Phoenix was holding that was called "Exquisite."
Activating that skill allowed the user to create a Force layer of Fire Energy Damage attached to it on the sword's body. The Force layer could also be used to deal with long-range attacks.
The question remained, why could Phoenix suddenly use the Force Skill? It could not be because of the Force Potion because when they were fighting against the players from North City earlier, everyone had used their Force Potions, and no one could use them again within an hour.
That meant that Phoenix had officially awakened the Force just now.
If the truth was not hidden, technically speaking, she should be the real second player in War to awaken the Force.
It was not odd this happened now because Phoenix's Force Guidance Rate had reached 95% earlier. Her progress' increase was directly related to the activation of her talent, "Dark Personality."
However, compared to Feng Luo, who was unconscious throughout his awakening, Phoenix was able to immediately adapt to the awakening of the Force.
Of course, Phoenix herself was also unconscious. After all, her character was now controlled by her Dark Personality.
Since she was also a character controlled by the system, Dark Phoenix's combat level was in no way inferior to the pirate captain commander, one could even say that she was stronger than him.
After the first exchange of blows with their weapons, "Exquisite," in Dark Phoenix's hands, continued to hack, slash, and thrust towards the pirate captain commander.
"Whoosh, whoosh!"
Afterimages and shadows of the flaming red sword could be seen under the sun.
Unlike Sword Ki Long River's sword techniques that resembled the form of martial arts, Wushu, Phoenix's sword skills were simple and practical and had no extra movements. Both of her hands gripped the sword tightly as she hacked away at the pirate captain commander consecutively. She was even pushing the initially domineering Hawkeye back now.
"Holy crap! Can somebody tell me if I'm hallucinating? Someone is pushing and completely dominating a Level-65 Commander-Grade monster?"
"Are you sure this is a female player? Why do I feel like she's even stronger than our boss, Sword God?"
All of the Nine-Star Guild players who stayed to defend the ship were staring wide-eyed.
The Light Armor Warrior players that were sent flying all over the deck earlier were feeling their body temperatures rise to their cheeks in embarrassment.
Although the Nine-Star Guild players currently on the ship were not among the best, the eyesight and vision of these elites from a major guild were not weak.
At the moment, the strength that Phoenix was displaying had greatly exceeded their own. Most of them were feeling that the player that every member of the guild was confident of being the strongest, one of the top ten experts in War, Sword Ki Long River, was no match to the female player currently pressuring and dominating the Level-65 pirate captain commander.
After all, the pirate captain did one-hit-kill Sword Ki Long River. Even though it was an ambush, it still sort of showed that there was a gap of strength between the two.
Truthfully, Feng Luo was also quite baffled by the current situation.
Even though she had awakened the Force, apart from the bonus skill attached to the weapon, she did not have any other Force skills. In theory, she should not be a match for the pirate captain who was 15 levels higher than her.
However, the reality was that Phoenix had the advantage.
Could it be due to the Force stats?
However, it was not the time to think about such things.
Although Phoenix had temporarily dominated the pirate captain and gained the upper hand, she was still not dealing a lot of damage on Hawkeye.
While the pirate captain was at a disadvantageous position, he still managed to glance at the ocean. This proved that the NPC was looking for a retreat path.
How could they let him escape successfully? To kill a person among a super mega guild, show-off, and then run away?
This was not something a Commander-Grade monster should be able to do. Does it think that it is a Quasi-Boss monster?
In this situation, whether it was the Nine-Star Guild players or Feng Luo, they would not allow him to escape.
"Hurry! Block his path!" The warrior players flocked the pirate captain.
"Whoosh!"
As it happened, Hawkeye suddenly sent another Nine-Star Guild warrior player flying away from him before he felt a sharp pain in his legs. His eyes stared forward the spot in anguish as a silver scalpel dug into his thigh.
Under the disturbance of the Force, the scalpel cut less than one centimeter into his thigh.
However, on the silver scalpel was a coat of dark green liquid that closely resembled the cross-shaped darts used by the Rebel Army's ninjas.
"Pa!"
The pirate captain Commander-Grade monster's leg had suddenly become numb and lost mobility. Quickly after, he was struck in the back of the head by the "Shield Bash" skill.
Then, there was no need to say anymore.

Along with the system notification beep, the dead pirate captain also dropped a bunch of items on the ground.
Energy crystals, a Commander-Grade pet biochip, the map of the Gray Waters… However, the most eye-catching item was laying beside Phoenix, who was pulling her longsword, "Exquisite," from the chest of the pirate captain commander – the alloy sword that had returned to its grayish color and was emitting an orange glow.

Chapter 639: Exploration Finished
The Storm City players had killed the pirate captain, and the sun had just risen to a point where the fog was forming. The other surviving players had retreated and brought with them a bunch of battle loot and mission items.
As they prepared to leave, on a luxurious cruise ship on the other side of the triangular island, the higher-ups of the various North City guilds who were initially awaiting good news were all grimacing.
The guild leader of SK Guild, Guild Leader Park, was staring at a superstar manipulator of his guild with a stern expression while asking questions with gritted teeth. "What? The device and Boss biochip has been taken by the people from Storm City? And just a dozen of you came back? Are you kidding me right now?"
The superstar manipulator player explained with a disgraced face, "Guild leader, it's not our fault. No one would have thought that the Rebel Army would suddenly appear. The people from Storm City seemed to have, for some reason, discovered our ambush well in-advance. In the end, they somehow lured the Rebel Army camp people over to our side and caught all of us by surprise. It caused us to lose a lot of our people…"
Guild Leader Park's face was incredibly dark and gloomy and he said with a tone tinged with a hint of anger, "And you still have the gall to explain? You're all among the best of our various major guilds, and you're telling me that you can't even beat a bunch of Rebel Army camp players with average gears? Even if you can't win, couldn't you have retreated sooner?"
"It is mainly because the Rebel Army camp's NPC had some method to gain control of the monsters from the branch bases. Also, we didn't clear the bases behind us that meant our flank was exposed and attacked by the monsters…" The superstar manipulator player spoke softer and softer, his explanation gradually turning into a whisper.
However, Guild Leader Park still heard it loud and clear. With veins popping up in his forehead as he shouted, "You didn't clear it? Why didn't you clear them? Did the tactical command team not consider this?"
The SK Guild's superstar manipulator perspired a lot and did not speak.
The person who decided to not clear the bases was none other than the General Manager of the company, also known as the guild leader.
Although the guild leader, completely enraged at the moment, had forgotten the fact that he was the one who made the arrangements, the superstar manipulator who had been developed and raised by the guild could not and dared not directly point it out.
However, after shouting at the superstar player, SK Guild's guild leader quickly remembered. "It is my fault. I did not consider the fact that the Rebel Army would take part in this…"
After that, with a very gloomy face, he lowered his voice and re-evaluated himself. He turned around to face the higher-ups of the various major guilds of North City before bowing.
"However, we have not yet completely lost. This cruise ship has been specially modified. Its speed is faster than Storm City's military ship. We only need to follow them and find their position. After that, we will just need to find some way to block their path. We still have a chance of getting the mission item. After all, the superweapons on their military ship cannot be used in a battle between players. We only need to…" After he finished speaking, a sparkle could be seen in the eyes of Guild Leader Park under his gold-rimmed spectacles.
However, before he could finish speaking…
"Boom!"
Suddenly, as if being hit by a huge wave, the entire luxurious cruise ship slanted to one side violently.
"Splash!"
The people in the cabin, as well as the people on deck, lost their footing immediately and fell to one side, some people even fell directly into the sea.
"What's going on?"
"What happened?"
The higher-ups of the North City guilds and the players that returned from the island seemed to be surprised and shocked.
A Scout player took out his recon meter to check and immediately, his expression changed. "There's a monster in the sea. F*cking hell, it is a giant Quasi-Boss monster!"
He did not need to speak anymore. Some of those on the ship had noticed who or what was causing the cruise ship to tilt so much.
A meaty and savage-looking head around the size of a house covered with multiple table-sized spikes emerged from the gray ocean water under the bright sun. It glared vengefully and hatefully at the players on the cruise ship.
It continually slammed its black turtle shell with multiple mountain-like bumps into the hull of the cruise ship that had been severely dented.
"Hurry! Go and stop it! We can't let it keep hitting us!" Within the cabin, an official from one of the guilds of North City, whose head was now bleeding from a fall, shouted after he saw the scene through the cruise ship's surveillance system.
"Ta, ta, ta…"
"Ta, ta, ta…"
A few players ran to the ship's deck. While trying to steady themselves, the players threw energy attacks and fired bullets at the Quasi-Boss in the sea.
However…
"It's not working! We're not making a dent!"
"The defense of this Quasi-Boss monster called the Shark Turtle is just too strong! Its HP is over a million!"
Before long, the players who took part in the attack looked in utter despair.
Bullets and attacks which landed on the monster's body only dealt single-digit damage against it. How were they going to fight and defeat this monster?
If there were over a hundred players on board, they might have been able to defeat the Quasi-Boss Shark Turtle before it sank the cruise ship.
However, they only had 30 to 40 players left on the ship. Among them, more than half were management type players from the various major guilds of North City.
To rely on these people to quickly kill a Quasi-Boss with insane defense and over a million points in HP? Was it even possible?
Of course, it was impossible.
"Rumble…"
"We're finished! The ship's hull is destroyed!"
"We're done for! The ship is sinking!"
The Quasi-Boss Shark Turtle underneath the luxurious cruise ship kept using its shell to slam into the side of the cruise ship.
As a cruise ship, while its materials were incredibly high quality, when it came to its defense, it could not be compared to Storm City's military ship. With the Level-55 Quasi-Boss slamming into the ship as if nothing else mattered, the ship was starting to sink.
"Hurry up! Bring out the assault boats! Use the speed boats!"
"It won't work. The system is telling us we can't bring out vehicles since we're in the middle of a fight… F*ck…"
Amid the quickly sinking cruise ship, a bunch of North City players was trying to swim to escape from the whirlpool created by the large sink sinking, as well as the cursing of those who failed to escape.
The Quasi-Boss Shark Turtle seemed to have even cracked its shell after consecutive collisions. It was surrounded by blood as it sank along with the cruise ship.
As a "Parasitic" monster, after the sea serpent died, the Shark Turtle's life was coming to an end.
After a series of incredible life-threatening collisions with the ship, it had also burned out its remaining life force.
However, if this Shark Turtle could speak, it would probably be muttering something along this line, "Serpey, old friend, I've finally avenged you,…" not knowing that it had found and sunk the wrong ship.
Nonetheless, one side encountering the assault of a Quasi-Boss each, it sure does seem quite fair, right?

[Taking three pieces of Boss-Grade pet biochips as his own, the second to awaken the Force, possesses a hidden profession and a mysteriously powerful pet. Just who is the number one searched person – Feng Zhi Luo Ye?]
[Battle Between Number One and Number Two. Invikill suffers utter defeat. Title of Number One Sniper in danger of changing masters.]
…
Feng Luo sat on a seat beside the window. He switched his vision to the forum. As he did so, a bunch of popular threads filled his vision.
Whether it was on the Storm City regional forum section or War's general forum section, the most popular threads had similar thread titles and more than half of them were related to him.
To put it simply, if War's forum had something like a "headline," he would be on it. If there were such a thing as a top ten hottest or most popular topic, he'd also be on at least seven or eight of them.
Among the top three hottest threads, only one of them was taken by War's "Number One Female Superstar Player" and "War's Goddess," a.k.a. Moon Brilliance Conglomerate's Light Dancing Sparrow getting a full set of Legendary-Grade accessories. Concerning this topic, the Moon Brilliance Conglomerate might also be marketing and pushing it to the top behind the scenes.
The conclusion was simple, Feng Luo was popular. However, he was not just "a little" popular.
In terms of his popularity, he was dominating all of the superstar players at the moment. In terms of the most searched player, he was number one.
It was just as Phoenix had predicted earlier. After this mission, it was no longer possible for him to maintain a low profile.
Although it was not to the extent where everyone one knew. At the very least, the ID "Feng Zhi Luo Ye" would stay on the forum for a very long time. For players who paid attention to this issue, it had become a name that they were very familiar with.
Since many superstar players had pre-emptively prepared to promote themselves, most, if not all, of the superstar players had recorded videos using the first-person recording option.
As such, many of the threads had videos attached to them. On these videos, there were scenes and recordings of Feng Luo's battles and fights during the mission.
The good thing was that Feng Luo always used the facial blocking setting to block his actual face from being recorded, a setting he applied a long time ago. As such, in the threads, the players only saw a face that had been modified by the system.
As such, Feng Luo did not have to worry that his face would be revealed like a guild's superstar player where he would be recognized no matter where he went. He did not have to worry about being stopped and asked to take a photograph or something either.
For Feng Luo, the current situation was still acceptable. Apart from Feng Luo becoming popular, his hidden profession, the Special Agent, had also become popular.
Some of the profession change mission content back then had been dug up and revealed. At the same time, since many people already knew that Onishi had the Special Agent profession also; Phoenix, Big Pineapple, and even Digital Cat gained some widespread attention.
Among the three, Phoenix received the most attention due to the final duel between Phoenix and the pirate captain commander on the military ship that was recorded by someone from the Nine-Star Guild.
As a player, she did not only stand her ground in the battle against a Level-65 Commander-Grade humanoid monster, but she even vaguely gained the upper hand. That in itself was an incredible feat.
In particular, the other Nine-Star Guild players that continued to be sent flying all over the place from the attacks from the enemy NPC also further highlighted the feat. Besides, Phoenix and her Goddess-level face, "Dark Phoenix's" cold stare during the battle, her unique temperament, the magnificent figure, and image after she activated the skill from the longsword, "Exquisite," that engulfed her in flames had further elevated her attractiveness.
As such, some people even associated her thread to the third popular Light Dance Sparrow's thread altogether. They discussed and debated on whether Phoenix or Light Dance Sparrow was the actual number one female player in War.
They even brought upon the debate on who should the title of "Number One Beauty" belong to. Both of these debates brought Phoenix a bunch of fans.
These two factors were enough to regard the attention that Phoenix gained at the level of a first-rate female superstar player.
Not mention the threads that even mentioned guesses about whether Phoenix had also awakened the Force like Feng Luo. However, concerning this, it was not as certain as it was in Feng Luo's situation because he admitted to it.
After Phoenix's battle on the military ship, she went directly offline. Since then, she had not yet come back online.
As such, for now, the question and answer could only be speculated by some. However, it was still one of the hot topics of discussion for some of the players.
If it was true, it would mean that the first three players to awaken the Force in the entirety of War would come from Storm City. What would this mean for the players who were in the other 30 plus main cities, some of whom that even touted themselves as being main cities above Storm City? How could they accept that?
Additionally, if this were to be true then it would attract countless players' attention when the hidden profession of Special Agent began recruiting again.
Similar to the speculation about whether or not the Sniper profession was beneficial to awakening the Force, players were speculating about the Special Agent hidden profession being more beneficial to one's awakening of the Force.
Apart from these topics, another thing worth mentioning was that Phoenix's armor set that she was equipped with had also garnered a lot of attention.
Since many people noticed that this set of exquisitely beautiful and stylish female armor was incredibly eye-catching and had never appeared anywhere else before in War. This made many female and male players' eyes sparkle… Of course, the reason for the sparkling and where they were focused on were quite different.
Apart from Phoenix, Digital Cat also attracted quite a lot of attention. However, the topics surrounding her were more focused on the Mechanist forum section.
[Realistic Mecha Defeats Two Superstar Players in Real Battle. The Rise of Micro Mechas?] The hottest thread on the Mechanist forum section at the moment also had a video attached.
The video's content was of a "Heavy Armor Warrior" player that was over two-meters tall that was holding an alloy sword in one hand and a shield in the other. The "player" was engaged in a battle against two North City players. The alloy sword continued to hack away at the two North City players while the shield continued to block most bullets fired from a Scout player. In this 1 vs. 2 situation, he was not at all at a disadvantage.
As for the result of the battle, the "Heavy Armor Warrior" killed a Scout player and a Light Armor Warrior player. However, he was also stabbed in the chest by the Light Armor Warrior, the alloy sword poked out of his chest. As sparks flew out of his wound, he fell on the ground.
It was then that the people watching the video found that the inside of the "Heavy Armor Warrior's" body, as well as "his" cuts and wounds were not flesh and blood, but instead were metallic structures. Such an agile "Heavy Armor Warrior player" was a humanoid battle mecha.
Although the final result was both sides going down together, not to mention the Storm City team that had some long-range attackers helping out the battle mecha, many people watching also recognized that the two players from North City fighting against the humanoid combat mecha were experts. They were famous superstar players, one of them was even a top-class superstar player in the top 50 ranking list of North City.
A humanoid battle mecha managed to kill two top-class players?
In some other videos, the mecha even showcased quite devastating long-range attacking skills, showing just how mighty it was.
Inside these hot popular threads, apart from multiple people analyzing the mecha's strengths and weaknesses, many Mechanist players were also asking for details and information regarding the methods of getting this type of mecha.
After that flurry of posts and messages came information from players that probably also took part in the exploration mission, regarding how Digital Cat was also a Special Agent, causing another round of hot discussion which increased the thread's popularity ensued.
Digital Cat also became popular. At the same time, "T-750" also gained a huge wave of promotion.
