Chapter 654: Brain Worm, Mental Attack!

"What?"

Other than Feng Luo, everyone was stunned.

This Cerebrate, which looks like a parasitical brain worm, is completely free of the complications of life and has theoretically not eaten or drunk for decades. However, it is still alive?

Furthermore, everyone witnessed something outrageous.

The muzzle on the Wings of Death, with the speed of 1500 m/s, fired a large-caliber sniper bullet through a fist-sized hole on the transparent safe. However, it was stopped in mid-air by a red energy shield only a few millimeters away from the Cerebrate's head.

Of course, to be more accurate, this was not just any other energy shield, but a special kind that only belonged to Zergs. It was a Psionics Energy Shield.

After the shield blocked the bullet from the Wings of Death, the dark eyes of the Cerebrate, which had already been eyeing Feng Luo, shot out a meter-long red light.

"Tsk!"

24K suddenly screamed loudly as it used its six little claws to cling onto Feng Luo's tactical vest while shaking its little head unceasingly!

While using its spiritual link with Feng Luo, 24K sent out a very painful message to him as it continued to suffer from some sort of attack. Immediately after, a system prompt emerged and informed Feng Luo of the reason for his pet's behavior.

[The Cerebrate has used a mental attack against your pet!]

"Mental Attack?!"

Feng Luo was in a state of shock.

He was no stranger to this mental attack ability. Before being admitted as a pet, 24K had the ability to mental attack as well and had used it to deceive many players during the city building mission. The last time, in the underground ruins, 24K had received the opportunity to evolve twice and had regained this mental attack ability.

This type of attack could seriously interfere with all of the target's senses and could even, to a certain extent, temporarily control low-AI monsters.

This Cerebrate was exerting mental control over 24K, and it was clearly unable to resist the attack of this genuine Zerg!

After the first prompt had appeared, another two system prompts followed after.

[The mission "Heart of King City (2)" has been triggered. Please help your pet resist the mind control of the Cerebrate.]

[Attention! If the King Beetle completely controls your pet, you will lose your pet forever!]

"What?!"

After receiving these prompts, Feng Luo's face completely changed.

The "Heart of a King Beetle" mission was the series mission that 24K activated during the previous times in these ruins.

The consequence of failing the mission was the permanent loss of his pet!

Feng Luo would definitely not be able to accept this consequence.

"Bang!"

Feng Luo's left hand aggressively toggled on the magazine of the Wings of Death, and the finger on his right hand had pressed down on the trigger. The Wings of Death shot another bullet through the fist-sized hole again.

"Boom!"

The armor-piercing bullet broke apart after hitting the red energy shield and exploded into a large, blazing flame.

Furthermore, the flames that started from the special bullet were unable to break through the red shield in front of the Cerebrate. The flames were blocked less than ten centimeters away from the parasitical brain worm!

"No! I can't fight it at all!"

Feng Luo's heart sunk.

The system prompted him to help, but under these circumstances, he was unable to interrupt the Cerebrate's mental attack on 24K by inflicting damage that should have been fatal.

Furthermore, because there was only a fist-sized hole on the entire safe, Mu Zi and the rest were unable to assist with the attack at all.

"What to do?"

Feng Luo, for the first time, felt very confused.

Although 24K was only a virtual pet, Feng Luo had already cultivated many feelings for it. Therefore, how could the system suddenly tell him that mission failure would cause him to lose his pet?

Feng Luo was unable to accept the possibility of losing 24K after everything they have been through together.

However, the current situation made this mission difficult. Once the Cerebrate controls 24K, it is likely to be controlled to summon beetles to start a war against Feng Luo and the others.

The chances of winning against 24K's full strength under the control of the Cerebrate were quite slim. Furthermore, would he be able to kill 24K if it becomes a wild monster again and leave it with only one life?

"What to do?"

After attempting to take 24K back into the pet space, Feng Luo discovered that the retract button had turned gray. Usually, Feng Luo is an extremely confident person. However, his confidence had now hit rock bottom.

Despite the deterioration of his confidence, he remained extremely calm as long as there was no other system prompt to deliver bad news. He would not be able to handle any more bad news in regard to his pet.

Perhaps flipping the safe, which wasn't stuck to the ground, would directly impact the Cerebrate and stop its mind control over 24K.

If that still did not have any effect, then he should directly kill 24K himself. Although it would cause him to lose a massive chunk of loyalty points, it would allow him to protect his pet from being lost completely.

However, Feng Luo's mind was a little convoluted at the moment. Therefore, he was unable to think of a good solution right then.

In the end, he felt hopeful that the system would not actually snatch away the pets from the players since they were a part of the mission. So naturally, the system would give a solution to the players to help them complete the mission.

[Your pet has requested to fully release the spiritual link between you two!]

In Feng Luo's vision, the system prompt ran across his eyes as it came from 24K's spiritual link.

"Agreed!"

Feng Luo, with a delighted face, unhesitatingly chose to agree.

"Boom!"

After Feng Luo chose to agree, he instantly felt as if a heavy object impacted his brain.

Immediately after, his whole brain felt scrambled, and his vision and body felt completely different.

Feng Luo's vision became clouded as there were now fragments of images flashing before his eyes and surrounding him.

He saw all kinds of Zergs in reproduction, huge galaxy warships traveling in the galaxy, and dozens of alien beasts that appeared to be several meters tall. He also saw a human's combat armor being shredded by an overwhelming amount of Zergs.

The several fragments of these scenes were spinning in his head. They caused him to have a feeling of both dizziness and nausea and left his brain feeling as if it was about to explode.

[You are under the Cerebrate's mental attack. Your evolutionary talent activates as your body reacts to its current mental state!]

[Due to your evolutionary talent, you gain the corresponding attribute of mental resistance. Resistance gained: 1%… 5%… 9%…]

[Due to your evolutionary talent, your brain domain has had an unknown change under the mental attack of the Cerebrate…]

In Feng Luo's system log, these system prompts appeared in succession.

Meanwhile, in the real game cabin, the handmade pendant with green gems glowed and blossomed on the neck of Feng Luo's sleeping body. The pendant had done this twice in the past when he had fallen into a coma.

"Brother Feng? What's wrong! "

"Manager Feng, what's wrong?"

At the same time, when Feng Luo was under the mental attack of the Cerebrate, the people in the experimentation lab were shouting anxiously.

They had only seen that after Feng Luo launched a few continuous attacks at the Cerebrate, he had suddenly stood there motionlessly with his eyes empty as his expressions drastically changed.

As a matter of fact, because the situation had changed so fast since Feng Luo shot the gun, and the mental attack of the Cerebrate was invisible, they still did not know what was going on.

However, by observing the situation, they could guess that it was the parasitical brain worm in the safe, causing trouble.

Therefore, they rushed up and tried to find a way to attack the box, or to at least move or kick it away.

However, this idea was not successful. Just as they approached the box, the Cerebrate's head in the safe turned around, and its red eyes swept past the many people of the Nightless City Club.

Everyone in the whole area, including the steel beetle, went into states of rest.

Everyone's face changed dramatically. Their foreheads were still sweating, but their bodies were just vibrating in place and unable to attack. It appeared that they were also under the same mental attack by the Cerebrate as Feng Luo was.

Chapter 655: Zerg Overmind Projection

The current image within Feng Luo's vision was not the same as the one he saw in the beginning.

The image shards that had moved and changed rapidly before his eyes began to slow down as if something was affecting them. Then they began to shrink and move away from him to a farther location.

This action helped to clear Feng Luo's mind, which had become very dizzy. As a result, he was able to see his surroundings more clearly.

However, after his vision cleared, his expression changed drastically.

He realized that all of the shards of images had only moved farther away from him. They did not disappear. Instead, they moved to a large and dark bluish shaded area. The shape of a head from a human-like bluish shadow appeared in the shaded area. A pair of large greenish-blue eyes appeared from the head and were staring straight at him!

The pair of eyes were intense, and the moment they appeared, Feng Luo felt as if his heart had suddenly stopped beating!

A thought suddenly occurred to Feng Luo. "Could this be… the Zerg Overmind?"

In the game background of StarCraft, all Zerg Cerebrates were actually clones with a shared consciousness with the Overmind!

In theory, apart from when being hit by special psionic energy attacks, the Zerg Cerebrates would never truly die. This was also one of the reasons why Feng Luo had previously felt doubts.

The mind, consciousness, clones…

Although these were concepts that exceeded the scientific knowledge that Feng Luo recognized, it was not stopping his body, which was currently inside the abandoned ruin laboratory, from sweating profusely!

He was sweating because of what the Zerg Overmind was.

The entire Zerg species only had one true leader that had full authority and control over them, and it was the Overmind.

The Overmind also possessed incredibly frightening strength!

As the mega boss in StarCraft, Feng Luo was confident that the odd entity in front of him was at least a Level 90 mega boss!

Under the immense pressure created by the game system, Feng Luo gritted his teeth, and he blurted the words, "You must be kidding!"

Did helping 24K mean that he was going to challenge the Zerg Overmind?

Although the scene in front of him was probably not a real scene inside the game but was instead a sort of "Mental Space," mental powers in Starcraft could still kill people. After all, a simple psionic storm had the destructive ability to empty an area in an instant!

Soon after, Feng Luo found that he had misunderstood the system because the shards of images in the sky had all disappeared.

The shadow's pair of giant eyes became even more apparent. However, there was no sign of anger amid the gaze.

The pair of large blue eyes gazing down at Feng Luo had a sense of calmness that was similar to a human looking at an ant!

Nonetheless, the blue color of the giant eyes became more and more prominent. Before long, the Overmind's giant eyes were covered by blue lights that signified psionic energy. They looked like giant blue moons!

"Boom!"

Two giant blue light pillars pierced through the sky and shot downward at Feng Luo.

"I can't dodge those!"

Feng Luo looked shocked. He moved his feet and activated his skills to try to dodge the lights.

However, he found that his skills had no effect, and it was then that he remembered that he was not even on a real battlefield in the game. Instead, he was inside a "Mental Space" that made no scientific sense!

In this space, his skills were utterly useless, and as such, his movement speed was also not fast enough for him to dodge the two giant blue pillars of light!

"Squeak!"

Suddenly, at that moment, a giant golden beetle that was over a few dozen stories tall had appeared. It flapped its wings and charged at one of the giant blue pillars of light descending upon Feng Luo!

"24K, don't!"

Feng Luo was quite certain that this golden beetle was an enlarged version of 24K!

The golden beetle had appeared at that moment inside the "Mental Space," and it decided to use its body to block the light pillar descending from the sky.

"Boom!"

Apart from the decrease in his movement speed, Feng Luo's voice traveled slowly to 24K.

Just as his voice reached the atmosphere and could be heard, one of the blue pillars of light had already reached 24K's body. The giant blue pillar of light collided with the golden beetle's body.

After a short deadlock, the enlarged body of the golden 24K collapsed and burst into multiple golden fragments that spread all over the sky!

"24K!"

At that moment, Feng Luo suddenly remembered that scene back in the Withered Desert where 24K died after choosing to sacrifice itself by using its body to block the Quasi Boss Grade Fire Ant Queen's attack from Feng Luo!

Feng Luo would never have thought that 24K's second "death" would also be due to the same reason!

Thanks to 24K's block, the blue light pillar had shrunk to one-fourth of its original size. In addition, thanks to 24K's obstruction, it needed more time before reaching the ground.

However, the other blue light pillar was still descending from above at Feng Luo without encountering any form of resistance. It was on the verge of making contact.

At that time, Feng Luo could only feel his entire body being pressured and flattened by a tremendous force from the sky. He could not even move his fingers!

However, while his body could not move, his mind was racing and erratic!

He did not know if he was going to be deemed as dead in the game if he were to be hit and killed by the pillar of light in this peculiar "Mental Battlefield."

Perhaps, the system would judge that the Cerebrate had succeeded in controlling him?

However, as Feng Luo gazed upon 24K, who had chosen to sacrifice itself for the second time to protect him, the awe and shock that he felt when he first saw the Zerg Overmind had turned into anger!

He became angrier when he saw the golden fragments floating in the sky, fragments that had not yet completely dissipated after 24K was crushed. They served as a reminder of his pet's sacrifice.

"Bling!"

At that moment, a green glow suddenly emerged from Feng Luo's eyes.

No, it was not only in Feng Luo's eyes.

In fact, the large "Mental Space" was suddenly engulfed by a green light.

As for the blue light pillars he had suspected to be from the Overmind, they slowed down substantially as if the green light had affected their speed. Nonetheless, they continued descending upon Feng Luo, even if they were moving at only one percent of its original speed!

The green light emanating from Feng Luo's eyes became stronger. After a few seconds, the green light turned darker and thicker!

No, to be more precise, the color had definitely gone from green to black.

The "Mental Space" seemed to have been engulfed by a black cage!

"Boom!"

Dark lights appeared and surrounded Feng Luo. After that, the dark lights turned into dancing black flames that completely engulfed Feng Luo!

It was as if the flames covered him in a black-colored armor!

Feng Luo looked up at the sky, and beneath his forehead, black flames burned within both his eyes!

Although the blue light pillar from above had completely covered Feng Luo, he still stared straight at the pair of giant eyes floating in the sky.

"Boom!"

The blue light pillar shot by the Overmind finally made contact with Feng Luo.

However, the moment contact was made, the black flame ignited. Then, like sparks meeting gasoline, the area was engulfed in flames.

The black flame had even spread upward along the blue light pillar and headed straight towards the eyes suspected of belonging to the Zerg Overmind!

The boiling and dancing black flame did not reach the Overmind in the end because the entire space had started to crumble very quickly!

["Notice, the system will launch the second version update. All players, please get offline within three hours. This update will last 24 hours."]

["Notice, the system will…"]

["Notice, …"]

As the dark space began to crumble, a system update notice, that appeared three times consecutively, rang in the ears of all in-game players!

[Notice: The system has started the update patch for version two. All players are asked to go offline within the next three hours. The latest update will continue for 24 hours.]

Chapter 656: September Night Rain's Hate

As the system update notification appeared, outside the abandoned ruin, a group of players wearing the September Guild badge on their chest exclaimed, "What the hell, the system is actually making the update right now?" They were hiding in a forest right outside the entrance of the abandoned ruin.

"If they don't get out of the abandoned ruin in three hours, doesn't that mean that we'll never know how long we'll have to wait? F*cking sh*t, they could have run the update any time, why did they have to do it now?!" A curly white-haired player whose guild badge was gold in color, which signified that he was a core member, asked these questions with a grimace. He was a Machine Gunner equipped with a full set of Rare Grade gears. He stood behind an eight-barreled heavy machine gun set up and aimed at the abandoned ruin.

"Young Master Sun, don't worry! The information I found said that this is only a small-scale abandoned ruin. Quite a bit of time has passed since they entered the place. Therefore, they will definitely exit from there within three hours!" said an elite Scout player standing beside him with a smile. He was wearing a silver September Guild badge on his chest.

The Machine Gunner, referred to as "Young Master Sun," seemed quite irritated. He turned around and glared at a few of the September Guild elite players and said, "They will definitely exit the ruin in three hours? I must say, are you even sure about that? Did they really get the Sniper that you guys encountered last time to work with them?"

"Yes, we are certain, Young Master Sun! I am absolutely certain that he is the Sniper! I will never forget that face of his!" said a manipulator player through gritted teeth as an angry expression appeared on his face.

If Feng Luo were here right now, he would know that this manipulator player was the one who intentionally provoked his group during a past ruin exploration operation and was dealt with in one shot!

Apart from this manipulator player, in the previous abandoned ruin exploration operation, the other two September Guild players who went with Lu Conglomerate's people from the headquarters were also among the players in this group.

"However, the person called Feng Zhi Luo Ye isn't your average player. Didn't the people on the forum say that he has already awakened the Force? Moreover, I heard that his damage power is crazy high. I heard that he could even kill people with just one shot. He also seems to own a ridiculously powerful summon-type pet. Can we even deal with him?" asked a warrior player with a worried expression.

"What are you afraid of? So what if his attack power is ridiculously high? Snipers don't have a lot of HP. You can't beat four hands with only two fists. So, we have the numerical advantage as well as the initiative from the ambush. We only need one round of focus fire to get rid of him instantly."

"Moreover, we also have God Night Rain with us!"

The manipulator player turned around and looked at a Wind Manipulator player, who seemed to be surrounded by flowing air, standing in the middle of the squad in admiration.

At the center of the group, September Night Rain was holding a half Legendary Grade energy converter in his hands while staring at the entrance of the abandoned ruin. Like Young Master Sun, he was protected by a few Heavy Armor Warriors.

Even as the ex-poster superstar player of the September Guild, September Night Rain was sent to this location a few days ago and was tasked to deal with some battle-related stuff associated with the Lu Conglomerate's city.

However, saying that he was "tasked" might not be accurate. In truth, he was simply dispatched to this location.

He was dispatched rather than tasked to this location because his name was no longer on the list that the September Guild had obtained, which had the names of the top players of Storm City.

One of the reasons why his name was not amongst the top players was due to the new signature superstar player of the September Guild known as Invikill.

September Night Rain did not get along well with Invikill. To be more precise, it should be noted that September Night Rain has had a history in which he did not get along with most of the other expert players in the guild!

As an ex-star player who was also the only player from September Guild to enter the top 10 rankings of Storm City, as well as the top 150 superstar players in War, September Night Rain had always been prideful. Apart from the few September Guild leadership team members who held genuine authority, he looked down on everyone else.

Naturally, this attitude of his made him a good number of enemies.

However, since he had maintained his number one position in power and popularity in the September Guild, even if the others were pissed off or annoyed at him, he would ignore them.

However, after Invikill "awakened the Force" and was chosen by the September Guild as the person they were going to groom as "War's Number One Sniper," his position in the guild dropped drastically.

The people who used to call him "God Rain" or "Brother Rain" in front of him had begun to talk behind his back now.

As for Invikill, he became the newly recognized number one expert in the September Guild. His popularity shot into the top 20, which was even higher than September Night Rain during his peak!

It was simply unacceptable to September Night Rain!

Furthermore, the guild wanted Invikill to display his absolute strength throughout the abandoned ruins mission and to outshine a bunch of other top-class players. By doing this successfully, Invikill could push his popularity into the top 10 and become a mega expert who could contend with Sword Ki Long River!

The people whom they assigned to the exploration mission were those who had a good relationship with Invikill. They even tried to find people who could specifically complement Invikill's strength!

Even though his feud and conflict with Invikill escalated, using the excuse of needing him to stabilize the Lu Conglomerate City, he was sent over to this location by the guild, and he did not even get a spot to take part in the ruin exploration mission.

This had angered September Night Rain so much that it made him smash a bunch of things in his luxurious mansion.

The good thing, however, was that the result of Invikill's expedition was completely different from the guild's initial plan.

Invikill failed, and he was completely suppressed by another Sniper player whose name none of them had even heard of before!

Not only did the person also awaken the Force, dimming the spotlight on Invikill, but they were both Snipers. Some had begun to doubt if the title of "War's Number One Sniper" should even belong to Invikill.

To September Night Rain, this situation was definitely a good thing. Invikill's massive failure made September Night Rain feel a lot more relaxed and comfortable. He was even secretly jeering about it.

However, after he saw the ID of the Sniper who killed Invikill, September felt a disgust rise from within his heart as if he had just eaten flies.

"Feng Zhi Luo Ye!"

If one were to say September Night Rain's feelings for Invikill were grounded in jealousy, then his feelings for Feng Zhi Luo Ye would be grounded in pure hate!

Feng Zhi Luo Ye was one of the main reasons why he was in his current situation.

If he had not died by Feng Zhi Luo Ye's hands during a past mission and dropped all of his gears after dying, not to mention repurchasing his items after Feng Zhi Luo Ye went and auctioned them, his popularity wouldn't have gone down so much.

Furthermore, his black history would also not have been discovered. This discovery had led the guild to push him aside and choose to groom Invikill as their new star player.

Also, it would have widened the power difference between him and the person who took his place, Invikill, which ultimately led to him being sent to this Lu Conglomerate City to become the "expert to stabilize the city."

The "expert to stabilize the city"? Only the name sounded fancy! In truth, he was simply sent away!

However, unexpectedly in the Lu Conglomerate City, September Night Rain managed to learn something from a partner that the September Guild did not really prioritize or pay attention to.

He learned that Feng Zhi Luo Ye's real-world identity was actually closely associated with a night club that was exiled from the Lu Conglomerate.

The night club also had disagreements with people from the September Guild.

Staring at the entrance of the abandoned ruin with no other access points, the hate in September Night Rain's eyes gradually turned into indifference.

"Feng Zhi Luo Ye, today, we'll see how you die!"

Chapter 657: Awaken! Psionic Energy?

In the underground abandoned ruin, Feng Luo opened his eyes in confusion, and a vague black light flashed across his eyes.

"Woosh!"

"Hmm?"

After opening his eyes, Feng Luo became startled and immediately turned around to look at the Zerg Cerebrate inside the safe, which was still being aimed at by Wings of Death!

In the end, the Cerebrate inside the safe had closed its eyes again. It had returned to its lifeless form!

"Bang!"

However, Feng Luo did not hesitate to pull the trigger of the Wings of Death that he held in his hands and fired an armor-piercing round on the Zerg Cerebrate!

"Puff!"

The bullet punctured and dove into the Cerebrate's body, but no damage number appeared.

For this to happen, either the Cerebrate was really dead, or the bullet simply struck a lifeless, inanimate object.

The Cerebrate, which had previously been on a rampage and had almost completely annihilated both Feng Luo and 24K in the "Mental Space," now appeared to be dead!

"Bang, bang!"

After two more experimental shots, Feng Luo stopped.

At that time, Mu Zi and the others had woken up and started shouting and speaking all at once.

"Damn it!"

"What was that just now?"

"Why did the bugs suddenly die?"

"Yeah, a black flame suddenly appeared and burned all the monsters that I was fighting to the ground," said Feng Luo.

It was clear that they had experienced something that was similar to what he had experienced!

After regaining their consciousness, the people from the Nightless Club also noticed Feng Luo's attack.

Mu Zi realized something after observing the situation. "Brother Feng, you are the one who killed this Cerebrate and rescued us from that space, right?!"

"I was almost devoured by one of those bugs! The system notification said that it was some sort of mental attack. It was really gross!" said Little Snow. Her pale face was covered in a cold sweat while her chest heaved up and down very quickly.

"Brother Feng, thank you. The tail of a friggin bug almost ended me!" said Chairman Jiao, who was still unnerved by the entire situation.

Everyone chimed in to discuss their previous encounter with several questions. The "Mental Attack" was quite odd, and it was completely different from the attacks or skills of the monsters that they encountered in the past.

In truth, the group had experienced a mental illusion made by 24K in the temple last time. However, that was a completely different experience from the one the Cerebrate had put them through.

When Boss Meng and the others were discussing their terrifying encounters, Feng Luo did not speak a single word.

He had remained silent because after he had confirmed that the Cerebrate was indeed dead, he immediately switched his attention to 24K.

On the ground, 24K lay in front of Feng Luo's feet. It had stopped moving. The spark in its eyes were gone, and the beautiful and magnificent golden shell had lost its color.

"24K?"

When Feng Luo sent 24K a message through their mental link to one another, he did not receive any response from his pet.

Instead, he received a message from the system.

[Your pet has suffered from a severe mental attack. Its mental state is damaged, and it is currently in an unconscious state. A mental link between you two can not be established.]

"Unconscious state!?"

Feng Luo's heart sank as he considered the fate of his fallen pet.

It had become quite clear that after the enlarged 24K inside the "Mental Space" was shattered by the blue pillar of light suspected of being from the Overmind, its actual body also suffered considerable damage.

The system's notification was straightforward. However, 24K's status window showed that it was in a "severely injured" state. Moreover, that status of his pet contained some bad news, which was that its health would not be reset even after death!

"24K!"

Feng Luo extended his hands to pick up 24K and hold it in his arms. An extremely gloomy expression lingered on his face as he was upset by this revelation.

The system's notification had ended the possibility to save and heal 24K directly.

Meanwhile, the Cerebrate appeared to be genuinely dead. Perhaps it died from that green light or the black flames?

Nonetheless, the death of the culprit did not make him feel any better!

The good thing was that the mission that everyone accepted earlier did not disappear due to the death of the Cerebrate.

As for the mission Feng Luo received earlier for 24K, Heart of a King Beetle (2), there was no notification regarding its completion or failure, which meant that there were still ways to save 24K!

However, he was uncertain about what the ways were to save 24K.

Feng Luo suddenly remembered something. He turned around to speak to Mu Zi. "Mu Zi, can you take these devices to reset, read, copy, and extract the information contained within?"

In War, almost every Scout would choose their life profession to be a Chip Master. At the same time, they would always carry devices and instruments that could crack or power up all kinds of equipment, programs, and devices contained within abandoned ruins.

The reason they did this was because monster drops were not the only valuable items within military or research abandoned ruins like these.

The research information and data stored within some of the devices were also extremely valuable to players!

They were valuable because the game's background information was set up in a way so that all the major weaponized factions in the game would be greatly interested in benefitting from the technology left within these abandoned sites.

Players would obtain amazing rewards from the NPCs just by copying and handing over the information from various devices to them.

However, the reason why Feng Luo asked Mu Zi to restart the device was not so he could hand the information over to the NPCs.

He remembered something. Since the core research content of this lab was to create a "King Beetle" similar to 24K, Feng Luo assumed that they would definitely be able to find detailed information regarding 24K within the device.

He even thought that there could be information that would help or solve their current situation. At the very least, the possibility was not zero!

However, the regretful thing was that the caucasian NPC researcher decided to destroy most of the data at the last moment. After Mu Zi restarted the device, he was not able to find any concretely useful items.

After failing, Mu Zi seemed to have remembered something. He then pointed at the chip he was holding and said to the unhappy-looking Feng Luo, "But Brother Feng, this information chip has some highly encrypted data. Perhaps it contains information related to 24K!"

"Chip?"

Feng Luo shifted his gaze.

That's right. The NPC could never truly destroy all of his beloved research data. Therefore, the chip contained all of his most important research results!

However, what Mu Zi said next made Feng Luo raise his eyebrows slightly.

"However, my skill level isn't high enough. Moreover, this chip is very advanced. It also has a note saying that a forced reading of the chip will result in the chip's self-destruction!"

"One more thing, my mission info said that I need to bring this chip into the A-2 base!"

Nonetheless, Feng Luo's furrowed brows relaxed quickly.

As long as the chip contained something, it would not be a problem because encryptions could eventually be cracked!

While Mu Zi's profession level was not high enough, Lin was still a Master Level Chip Master.

Even if they were to fail to locate the A-2 research base that was probably over a decade old, Lin would most likely still be able to find a way to save 24K.

Feng Luo placed the unconscious 24K back into the pet space. After that, his gaze returned to his body.

After he recovered from the "Mental Space," Feng Luo could feel that something was drastically different from before.

He did not feel as if he had become weaker. Instead, he felt several times better than before.

However, he did not have a simple improvement in his vision, hearing, or perception. It was something that he could not describe.

If he had to put it into words, it would be that Feng Luo now saw the world in a different way. He was now able to see and detect a lot of details he had never even noticed before!

What was the reason for this?

Feng Luo quickly scrolled through his system logs.

[Your hidden stats: Your mentality has increased. Your overall perception has improved significantly.]

[You have awakened the Beginner Level Psionic Energy.]

Those were the two messages that he saw first.

Chapter 658: Real Word Stat, Brain Activation!

"Mental Power? Psionic Energy?"

Feng Luo's face froze after reading the two system messages.

"The system message said that my mentality has increased, which means I have a Mental Power stat that is hidden…" Feng Luo mumbled to himself.

Mental Power was something that Feng Luo had always considered to be vague and pointless. Or rather, at the very least, he found it to be a concept that was incredibly difficult to understand!

Although, since the game already had contained things like the Force and Psionic Energy, having a form of Mental Power would not be strange at all.

However, Mental Power was a hidden stat that could not be checked on. It had functioned in a way that was similar to the Luck stat. So, it was not possible for one to actually know how high one's stat was.

Feng Luo continued to mumble to himself. "Regardless, the strengthening of the Mental Power stat has greatly enhanced my overall perception and strength. Perhaps this is the reason why my surroundings feel and look very different right now. Also, if I remember correctly, there is a strong relationship between Mental Power and Psionic Energy in Starcraft!"

Feng Luo's highly active mind quickly began to recall information about Starcraft's background.

In the game, Psionic Energy itself was a sort of power that connected to one's mind.

Furthermore, if he remembered correctly, the game setting made it so that the humans could not easily manipulate Psionic Energy. At the same time, some of the advanced units of the Zerg species could possess Psionic Energy.

However, among the three main camps in the game, the Protoss had very advanced minds. As such, they possessed amazing Mental Power from birth and had the ability to manipulate advanced level Psionic Energy!

"Wait! The mind!"

Feng Luo's eyes moved quickly as he had an idea.

Feng Luo spoke through the audio recording device to the system and said, "Activate the game capsule's body status monitor!"

Inside the abandoned ruin, players could not go offline. However, the game capsule's monitoring system allowed players to check data on their bodies in the real world while they were still inside the game.

After Feng Luo issued his command, the system opened up the monitoring system page.

"Peak heart rate; muscle cell metabolic index; brain activity rate; static state energy consumption…"

Feng Luo skipped past the normal stats and went straight to the bottom of the list to review the hidden stats that he could still check after awakening the Force in the game.

[Seventh Brain Domain Progress – 3.35%]

[Known Hidden Gene Fragment Unlock Progress – 0.301%]

"So that's how it is, huh?"

Feng Luo shifted his gaze and stared at the "Seventh Brain Domain Progress – 3.35%" stat.

After learning that the game could also impact a player's body in the real world, Feng Luo had been checking his body's data every single day.

The Seventh Brain Domain and the Hidden Gene Fragment Unlock were two stats that had been gradually increasing over the past ten days.

Usually, their growth rate had not been very fast. More specifically, the brain domain activation progress was slow.

However, he clearly remembered that when he checked it earlier in the day, the progress was only at 0.98%. Now, the progress was at 3.35%. It had almost doubled in one go!

"The brain region activation rate, the increase of Mental Power, the awakening of Psionic Energy…"

Considering the two messages in his system logs from the game, Feng Luo was almost certain that the brain domain activation progress was closely related to the increase of his Mental Power and the awakening of Psionic Energy.

Feng Luo then mumbled, "Since the Seventh Brain Domain's activation corresponds to the Psionic Energy, what happens when the Hidden Gene Fragment Unlock progress reaches 100%? Since awakening the Force has granted me a series of increases and adjustments in stats, what will this Psionic Energy awakening grant me?"

After affirming his suspicions and confirming that his body was still displayed as "Normal," Feng Luo quickly remembered the "Gains" he picked up after the previous Force awakening.

As such, he closed the stats interface and switched to look back at the system logs.

After he reopened the system logs interface, the first message he saw was not regarding the Psionic Energy stat. Instead, it was about the bonus he received after the Evolution Talent was triggered.

[Due to the Evolution Talent, you have received: Permanent Psionic Energy Attack Resistance from the Zerg Overmind 10%, Permanent Psionic Energy Attack Resistance from the Zerg Cerebrate 20%, Permanent Psionic Energy Attack Resistance from the Advanced Zerg Units 30%!]

The activation of the Evolution Talent did not really surprise Feng Luo. Truth be told, when he was facing the Zerg Boss and the advanced units, he had already activated the Evolution Talent a few times.

However, compared to before, the bonus provided by the Evolution Talent this time was a lot higher.

A series of Permanent Stat bonuses, while they were only resistant to very specific units, were nonetheless incredible gains.

Feng Luo went on to read the next message in the system log.

[Due to the awakening of the Beginner Level Psionic Energy, you have received: Intelligence 100%, Mental Type Attack Effects 20%, Mental Type Attack Permanent Resistance 20%, Psionic Energy 200%!]

Feng Luo furrowed his brows after reading the stats.

Compared to the awakening of the Force, the stat bonuses obtained after the awakening of the Psionic Energy was quite underwhelming.

First of all, there was no increase in his HP or his general stats. Secondly, there was no stat bonus that he could choose!

As for the bonus effect on Mental Type Attacks, for Feng Luo, they were useless because he did not know or possess any Mental Attack skills.

Regarding mental resistance, it would only be useful when he encountered units such as the Cerebrate or the earlier black beetle that possessed Mental Type Attacks. However, neither of the two creatures mentioned previously were left on this planet. Therefore, he would not have much use of mental resistance, and it would not help to increase his combat ability.

The only useful thing to him right now was probably the increase in his Intelligence stat.

As a Sniper and Light Armor Warrior, his Agility, Strength, and Vitality stats were not low. Furthermore, apart from his base stats, he also had the equipment bonuses too.

On the other hand, his Intelligence stat had been quite low. Either way, the stat was not all that useful for professions that dealt with physical attacks.

However, the 100 Intelligence stat points could not be regarded as entirely useless in all situations. The 100 Intelligence stat points could be quite powerful when paired with the bonuses he had received after awakening the Force and the "All stat 20" bonus from the badge. His Intelligence stat may even be higher than some of the manipulator players who had not awakened the Force!

Therefore, he would not have much of a problem even if he were to choose the manipulator profession as his third profession!

Of course, not mentioning the fact that Feng Luo had not even considered the option of choosing an energy type profession as his third profession, the mere point requirement, as well as the A-Rank Authorization requirement, was challenging to meet. He needed to exchange the "Third Profession Change Chip" from the special agent warehouse, and that was already an insurmountable obstacle for him.

Therefore, the conclusion was that the Intelligence stat bonus was also useless.

However, Feng Luo did not feel bad after coming to this realization.

Since the awakening of Psionic Energy was quite sudden and unexpected, he found it all a tad ridiculous.

No matter how he looked at it, the increase in stats was definitely better than having nothing at all.

So, Feng Luo continued reading.

Chapter 659: Psionic Energy Property "Destroy"

[Based on your Fatal Talent, your Psionic Energy obtained a bonus property called Destroy.]

"Psionic Energy property?"

Feng Luo was stunned again.

Psionic Energy was technically a type of mental power, so could it have properties?

However, if one were to base it on the settings of the game Star Wars, the Force should technically not have properties as well. It should be a type of pure energy force that Jedi warriors manipulate.

On this planet right now, though, he had not met a single Jedi warrior yet. The Force was a common trait among the advanced NPCs as well as an advanced strength that all players could possess in the future!

However, the two types of power that emerged in War were similar to the ones within the story of Resident Evil: Biohazard Crisis and had considerable adjustments made to them.

[Destroy is a Beginner Level Psionic Energy Bonus Property.]

Attacks with Psionic Energy infused in them will possess extra destructive strength. Also, additional Psionic Energy damage will be dealt during attacks without consuming any Psionic Energy points!

Feng Luo extended his finger to click on the button to read an introduction about the Destroy property.

He was not able to gather very detailed information from the brief description. Furthermore, without any opportunities to experiment, he still was not sure about the effects of Psionic Energy.

However, since this so-called Psionic Energy was a power that should be on the same level as the Force, the effects of the Psionic Energy bonus property should not be any weaker than his self-healing Force, right? Especially since extra destructive strength and additional damage were available with Psionic Energy infused attacks.

Compared to the self-healing Force that recovered his stamina, healed his HP, and treated his injuries, the Psionic Energy bonus property functioned in an opposite way. The self-healing Force served as a defense, while the Destroy property enhanced his attacks.

According to the system's notification, the Destroy property appeared because of his Fatal Talent!

Fatal Talent? He wondered if this meant that his Fatal Talent had been modified.

Feng Luo's eyes narrowed. Then, he quickly shifted his gaze back to the system log interface.

[Since you've awakened the Psionic Energy, you Fatal Talent has been adjusted!]

"Just as I thought!" Feng Luo's eyes sparkled.

His mood, which had been a bit down due to 24K's condition, had finally become slightly filled with excitement again!

The Fatal Talent could be regarded as Feng Luo's greatest asset in the game.

So, just what has changed in this latest adjustment?

He hoped that the adjustment had not weakened his Fatal Talent or reduced bonus damage!

Feng Luo was feeling very anxious at that moment. As such, without waiting much longer, he clicked and entered his talent interface.

[Fatal Talent: Fatal Damage is increased by 100%! When in combat with humanoid units, if their defense has been completely damaged and if the damage from an attack that hits a vital spot exceeds half of the target's current HP, the Instant Death effect will be inflicted upon them. When in combat with non-human units above the Commander Grade, Instant Death is ineffective. When the defense of the target unit has been completely damaged and when an attack hits a vital spot, the attack will deal extra damage based on the HP percentage of the target unit.]

The brightness in Feng Luo's eyes intensified as he stared straight at the words!

"The Instant Death effect!"

Even Feng Luo's breathing became faster. However, he felt a bit odd.

In the Galactic civilization, the word "Fatal" and "Instant Death" [1] had a very slight difference.

Even though the name of his talent was Fatal, the truth was that if the gap between his target and his equipment grade was not too wide, or perhaps during the time before he awakened the Force, it was almost impossible for Feng Luo to truly achieve a one-shot kill!

However, right now, his Fatal Talent had the Instant Death effect, an effect that was technically one of the strongest combat attributes one could hope for!

The effect, however, had its own limitations. The Instant Death effect would only work on humanoid units. Furthermore, the defense of the unit needed to be shattered, and the damage dealt needed to exceed half of the target's current HP.

This meant that the attack needed to have an intense destructive power as well as high enough damage.

This might be difficult for other professions to achieve, but for a Sniper, it was actually not all that difficult! It was especially not difficult for Feng Luo when considering his current level, stats, and equipment.

Since he possessed the Wings of Death, which had a destructive attack power, and the advanced high-end special ammunition for it, Feng Luo was quite capable. Apart from Heavy Armor Warriors and those with high-level Legendary Grade defensive items in this current stage, it was almost certain that Feng Luo would be able to completely break through the defense of any other target in one shot.

Even though Heavy Armor Warriors, and those with Legendary Grade defensive gears, might be able to deflect a shot from the Wings of Death, it should always be remembered that the Wings of Death was only a Rare Grade weapon. Apart from Heavy Armor Warriors, anyone who could deflect an attack from the weapon would have their equipment to thank.

Feng Luo still had the Death Gaze, a Legendary sniper rifle, in his possession. However, the weapon was incomplete because it was missing parts. He needed to get to Level 60 before he could collect all five parts of the weapon.

Thankfully, with his current rate of leveling up, it would not take much longer for him to reach Level 60.

Moreover, he did not have to wait until he reached Level 60 to complete the Legendary Grade sniper rifle if he really did not want to.

He had earned credits by auctioning off the Boss Grade pet biochips and now had enough to purchase the Legendary Grade item production equipment. Would it even be possible for Old John, a Master Level Gun Mechanic, not to know how to create a Legendary Grade sniper rifle?!

Feng Luo remembered one more thing.

"Oh, that's right, there's also this new Psionic Energy property!"

His Psionic Energy's property was Destroy. Although he had not yet tested it before, from the name and the description, one could easily suggest that it was related to the increase of one's attack and destructive power.

The existence of the Psionic Energy property created the possibility of Feng Luo being able to take down a Heavy Armor Warrior player with a one-shot kill. At that point, it would not even matter if the warrior was fully equipped in Legendary Grade gears.

"But the Psionic Energy is not able to activate the skills of Legendary Grade items like the Force. Therefore, it's not as good as a second Force!"

Feng Luo felt a little bit disappointed.

He initially thought that his Fatal Talent would awaken a second type of attack-oriented Force power in the future. After all, he always felt that the double-talent situation was a hint to something.

Even though Haruko once said that awakening the second Force was a lot more complicated than awakening the first one, Feng Luo was still hopeful.

However, he did not awaken the second Force but the Psionic Energy instead!

Moreover, from the looks of things, the awakening of the Psionic Energy had "overdrawn" his Fatal Talent!

In this case, was there still a chance to awaken the Force?

Feng Luo was not sure.

However, he had a feeling that the possibility of that happening was now very low.

Furthermore, even though the adjustments made had strengthened the Fatal Talent, parts of it had also been weakened.

For example, the 50% extra damage on Weak Point Damage was no longer there.

Therefore, in the future, he would have to utilize Fatal Damage if he wanted to deal a high level of damage to his targets. This also meant that the need for accuracy during battles had substantially increased. Any other player might not have considered these changes as a boost in strength!

However, the negative effect of his talent, the "Normal Damage deals only 75% damage during an attack" clause, was no longer there. So, there was still a kind of balance in his attributes and abilities.

Regarding the point about the Instant Death effect not applying to Commander Grade and above units, the impact of this effect was not all that great because the Commander Grade units had far too much HP. Especially the Boss Grade units. By the time he could deal more than half of the unit's current HP some damage with one shot, the Boss unit's HP would most definitely be below 5% already.

In that case, it would be quite meaningless.

It would have been far more useful if the extra damage was based on a certain percentage of the target's HP when dealing with Boss Grade monsters that had ridiculously high HP!

Of course, he would have to wait and see the actual impact of the effect by testing it out in combat!

Feng Luo continued to scroll and read.

[Since you are the first to awaken the Psionic Energy, you have received a Psionic Energy Skill called Psionic Flame!]

[The Psionic Flame skill can attach Psionic Flames onto the surface of any object. The Psionic Energy consumption rate will depend on the surface area and object that you are attaching the flames to. It will also depend on the time of the attachment. Psionic Energy can be in two states during the use of the Psionic Flame skill, which is the Activated and Normal state!]

Feng Luo looked shocked once more, but then he suddenly remembered something.

The Zerg species are an alien species on this planet, and the advanced NPCs and the high-level monsters on the planet would most definitely not have Psionic Energy. Then, would monsters drop gears that needed Psionic Energy or items along the line of "Psionic Energy Integration Chips?"

Feng Luo had tested the Psionic Energy a little bit just before he found out he had the skill. After testing it, he found that the Psionic Energy could not be used on his body like the Force.

So, this brought about a serious problem.

He felt like awakening Psionic Energy was, in fact, a useless skill.

The stats and numbers looked good, but in reality, they had no practical use.

The good thing was that the system gave him a Psionic Energy skill, which was the reward for being the first to awaken Psionic Energy!

Although the rewards given by the system for being the first for most things had never been amazing, the skill, according to the description, reminded Feng Luo of the flame that was ignited by the Psionic Energy of the Zerg Overmind that he witnessed inside the "Mental Space."

He felt that it could have potential!

[1] The words in Chinese are Zhi Ming (translated as Fatal) and Zhi Si (translated as instant death). The difference in Chinese is only a single word, but the meaning is mostly the same. "Ming" means life, while the "Si" means death. So, the first one could be argued to mean that something was critically affecting, and potentially ending, one's life. The second one focuses on causing death.

Chapter 660: Skill – Psionic Flame

As Feng Luo was reading through his system log, Mu Zi's group had been circling around the safe. After attacking the Cerebrate in the safe three more times, they confirmed that it was really dead!

However, the thought of the next step was something that made everyone scowl.

Their original plan was to get the Cerebrate out of the safe so that they could easily carry it around with them outside. However, that plan was no longer feasible because after Feng Luo woke up from the mental attack of the Cerebrate, the Commander Grade Steel Beetle, "Steel One," was no longer moving.

The Cerebrate's mental attack hit all of the creatures inside the lab, and the Steel Beetle that had the ability to destroy the safe had probably made the Cerebrate feel threatened. Therefore, the Cerebrate had unleashed a more ferocious attack to defend itself!

Although the Commander Grade Steel Beetle had no external injuries on its body, it showed no signs of being alive.

The screen of Mu Zi's recon meter showed that its brain, which was hidden under its tough shell, had been blown to bits!

This revelation affected Feng Luo's mood negatively.

"Steel One" was the highest leveled beetle among all of the Commander Grade Steel Beetles.

Compared to Elite Grade Steel Beetles, Commander Grade Steel Beetles were capable of surviving through considerable damage due to them possessing energy shields.

In terms of battle strength, this Commander Grade Steel Beetle might even be stronger than top-class players that are not equipped with Legendary Grade items!

However, before more than five days could pass since its development, and after only making one appearance on the Devil Tri-Horn Fog Island, it was already dead.

Also, there was the tragic condition of 24K. So, it was natural for Feng Luo to feel sad and anguished.

The fall of the Commander Grade Steel Beetle had highlighted the weakness of beetle soldiers. As wild monsters, they only had one life. Therefore, once they had died, they could not be brought back to life.

Likewise, even though 24K seemed incredibly strong, it also had two severe weaknesses. Its first weakness was that its combat power and HP were incredibly low. Therefore, it could be killed quite easily. Its second weakness was that it relied on its subordinates to fight in all its battles. The moment it loses all, or a majority, of its subordinates in a battle, it could quickly become the weakest Boss Grade pet throughout War!

Regardless, even if the Commander Grade Steel Beetle was alive, they still did not have any way to open the safe.

With 24K currently unconscious, no matter how good and powerful Feng Luo was, he had no way of directly communicating with the beetle soldiers. Therefore, he would not be able to instruct them to perform specific actions.

"What do we do? This safe is just too sturdy. My armor-breaking skills have been completely useless. My sword's destruction coefficient is C-Grade, but it did not even leave any mark on its surface!"

Boss Meng raised his beloved golden sword, which was as broad as a door, in the air. With his large body that weighed over 300 pounds, he waved and swung his large alloy sword at the safe. The result? He was pushed back by the recoil of his swing after hitting the safe. He did not manage to deal any sort of destructive damage to it at all!

As such, he could only look at the people from the Nightless Club with a resigned expression.

"Nothing seems to be damaging it, so we will have to move the safe with us outside. Although a few places outside will not be easy to bypass, we should be able to dig through the walls!" said Rose Thorns with a frown.

"It seems like that's our only choice…"

Little Witch even used her energy to create flames and directed them towards the safe, hoping they would burn it. However, it was apparent that the safe was made with fireproof material. Just before she raised the temperature of the flames, Mu Zi ordered her to stop because the closed-off lab actually had a high concentration of oxygen. If she were to continue trying to burn the safe a little while longer, everyone might have suffocated.

Although they tried various methods of destroying the safe, it appeared to be indestructible.

Since Feng Luo had retracted the unconscious 24K and was now standing silently beside the corpse of the Steel Beetle, some of the others guessed that Feng Luo was not in a good mood.

Therefore, they chose not to bot

Chapter 661: Ambush

"It is effective!"

The people from the Nightless Club all looked delighted.

The blade of Ghost Weep was covered in dancing black flames as the sharp edges completely cut into and sliced through the safe!

As a matter of fact, even Feng Luo was surprised.

Although using the skill was his idea, he was uncertain if the blade infused with Psionic Energy would be able to cut through the safe.

After all, the material of the safe was extremely solid. Even the Legendary Grade alloy swords of two of the best Light Armor Warriors were not able to do much damage.

However, under the effects of the Psionic Energy's bonus property, Destroy, he did not have to make much effort before slicing through the safe.

It was definitely due to the effects of the Destroy property that he was able to destroy the safe. If one were to investigate the destruction of the safe in detail, one would be able to see that the safe had changed its color and shape very quickly the moment the black Psionic Flame made contact. The structure of the material was destroyed. Furthermore, the skill of Ghost Weep significantly increased his strength and allowed him to push the blade through the safe!

"Puff!"

Seeing how effective the attack was, Feng Luo took one step closer, changed his grip on the knife, and continued cutting at the invisible edges of the safe.

"Done!"

Although it was not as easy as cutting tofu, Feng Luo did not need to expend a lot of his strength to create a half meter wide hole on the safe.

It was the first time he used this Destroy property, but the effect was absolutely a lot better than he expected!

"Let me take the creature!"

Seeing that the safe was cut open, Boss Meng put down his large golden sword and quickly took out a black folding box from his inventory. After that, he took the Cerebrate from the safe and put it into the box.

Since players often encountered things that they couldn't place inside their inventory, many players would bring along a folding box with them out of habit.

Even though the folding box wasn't that big, it had just enough space to hold the Cerebrate, especially since its body had significantly shrunk after it died. Boss Meng picked up the box with one arm.

Mu Zi, on the other hand, had already opened the tunnel with his bracelet, and the group began returning to the abandoned ruin's entrance.

The abandoned ruin exploration mission had finally finished!

It took them around thirty minutes to get to the mission, but since all the monsters had been wiped out, the return journey took less than five minutes. Before long, the group had reached the entrance.

"Rumble!"

The metallic rotating door of the abandoned ruin retracted like the petals of a flower. Then, a ray of light brightened up the underground tunnel slope between them and the door.

Rose Thorns raised her alloy shield and led the way out.

After looking around carefully and noting that no monsters were waiting in the surrounding forest, she turned around to say, "There are no monsters!"

Boss Meng held the box containing the Cerebrate with one hand while the other held his golden alloy sword on his shoulder and said, "Now, let us return to the Lu Conglomerate City first. We'll go look for the A-2 Base inside the Forest of Death that the NPC mentioned after the system update occurs."

"Yeah, there's only around two hours left before the system update happens. That is definitely not enough time for us to work on a follow-up mission!"

"Rumble!"

As the group talked, they reached and exited through the main entrance of the abandoned ruin, and the door behind them closed automatically.

The moment the metallic door of the abandoned ruin closed, Feng Luo's face stiffened.

"Hmm!"

Then, he raised his head and looked at the sky suspiciously.

At that moment, he had a strange feeling. It was as if the air above his head was heating up.

It was a type of feeling that was difficult to put into words, but his body was able to react to it.

However, when Feng Luo raised his head to look at the sky, he found that the sun was not there. Therefore, the peculiar feeling of heat was quite odd!

Feng Luo mumbled to himself as he observed the sky. "Wait. Why does the sky seem tinged with a bit of red?"

As Feng Luo's mind raced, Little Witch's energy converter and Mu Zi's recon meter rang alarms almost at the same time.

[Beep, beep. Energy fluctuations have been discovered!]

At that time, the red in the sky had expanded and spread quickly. In less than two seconds, the light red sky had turned into a blazing red color that was accompanied by chunks of black smoke. Just then, a pressuring and despairing type of energy, along with an extreme heatwave, came towards them from the sky!

A Level 40 Ultimate skill of Fire Manipulators, called Meteor Rain, had been unleashed upon them!

"Dodge! Quick!"

Everyone's face changed colors.

However, they had more concerns than just dodging the Meteor Rain. The September Guild players were fully prepared and had been waiting to ambush them.

"Ta, ta, ta!"

A flurry of shots from a machine gun, which was hidden within a bush, rang in the air.

The Level 50 Rare Grade heavy electromagnetic machine gun, which was beyond rare amidst player ranks, created eight fiery "snakes," each densely packed with high caliber rounds fired at a rate of over a hundred per second. The bullets rained down on the players and completely destroyed the vegetation in front of them while also filling the sky with dirt and debris as the bullets hit the ground!

"Ta, ta, ta!"

Two submachine guns also sent bullets flying their way.

Furthermore, who could forget the profession that could deal the highest single unit damage in a PK battle like this? The Snipers!

"Bang!"

An energy sniper bullet hit Feng Luo's chest.

[-1240 HP.]

The bullet had pierced through the SUV combat uniform he wore. The 12.7mm sniper bullet's residual impact was enough to clear out over 1,000 of his HP.

If he had not detected the anomaly in the sky in advance that prompted him to dodge sideways immediately, the bullet would have definitely struck closer to his heart. The damage done to his HP would have been higher in that situation!

Feng Luo's rolling maneuver was the thing that allowed him to, by a hair's breadth, dodge another sniper bullet that was aimed toward his head.

However, the others did not react in time like him!

"Bang!"

[-3467 HP.]

As one of the few players who was a primary target like Feng Luo, a bullet hole appeared in between Little Snow's eyes after her HP was reduced by the shots from the two submachine guns.

A sign of panic was still visible in her eyes as the medical chest she held fell on the ground.

Feng Luo had, more than once, killed the enemy camp's Doctor first in battles. It was a strategy.

This time, the roles had switched, and his team's Doctor player was the first to be killed by an enemy who had the same profession.

However, it was not only Little Snow who suffered. As the only Light Armor Warrior who could close in quickly, Boss Meng was also hit with a bunch of Ice Arrows and Wind Blades as he had become a prioritized target. Soon, the white light of death had gone through his body!

His beloved golden sword also dropped to the ground!

"Ta, ta, ta!"

The vanguard of the squad, Rose Thorns, managed to react quickly and activate her shield and defensive skills. However, under the barrage of the enemy's eight barrelled machine gun, her HP still went down very quickly.

Furthermore, at that moment, the energy brewing above them in the sky had now matured. Black smoke accompanied the blazing fire energy that descended from the sky, covering a range of around 20 meters. The Meteor Rain had arrived!

Chapter 662: Death and Breakthrough

In front of the abandoned ruin door, Chairman Jiao quickly activated his energy shield. However, before two seconds elapsed, the machine gun bullets had turned him into Swiss cheese. He fell and cursed as the white light of death engulfed his body, "September Guild, I will f*ck your entire family…"

Besides Chairman Jiao was the body of Little Witch, whose shield was broken a little bit earlier. Just like Little Snow, she had a gaping bullet hole right between her eyes.

Even though the players of the Nightless Club squad were equipped with decent gears, they were not able to hold out for long against the September Guild's ambush!

In just five seconds, most of the players were already down!

Even Mu Zi, who had reacted extremely quickly and rolled sideways to dodge attacks just like Feng Luo, was blocked by a ring-shaped ice wall. After that, a bunch of earth spikes emerged from the ground, and a flurry of ice arrows flew and punctured his body, killing him on the spot!

The only people left alive were Feng Luo and Rose Thorns!

Feng Luo had survived because after he dodged the first round of focus fire, a red layer of armor, which was like a mist of blood, covered his body and helped him block a few unavoidable areas of effect attacks thrown by the September Guild players.

At the same time, a series of green healing numbers also kept popping up above his head!

The blood armor and the fully activated self-healing Force made it possible for him to survive even though he was the number one target of the September Guild!

Regardless, he knew that he should not face this group alone with no backup. This group was filled with more than ten players who had pre-planned an entire ambush.

Even though he had awakened the Force and had just awakened the Psionic Energy, it was impossible for him to win against all of these players!

Therefore, he could only do one thing.

Escape!

After Rose Thorns used her remaining HP to block the enemy's machine gun bullets, two Light Armor Warriors charged toward him. He had to escape now!

Feng Luo looked down without any expression on his face.

After the eight barrelled machine gun emptied Rose Thorns' remaining HP, it turned to attack him next. Feng Luo's entire body, like a freshly fired cannonball, charged towards a very steep slope, which was around ten meters tall, besides the entrance of the abandoned ruin.

He moved quickly away from the enemies and toward the slope in hopes of escaping this deadly ambush.

"Raging Charge!"

This was the first time since the Silvermoon City mission that Feng Luo fully activated the Raging Charge skill.

His Agility stat, which was higher than that of an average player, had increased to the maximum level. Due to the 300% movement speed bonus from Raging Charge, he was hard to see and detect.

The September Guild players were already left in a state of shock when they had first seen the blood-red "energy shield" suddenly appear and cover Feng Luo's body. Now, his speed was so fast that the machine gunners and two of the Light Armor Warriors looked confused and frightful. They felt as if they had just seen a ghost.

Only September Night Rain, even though he was surprised by Feng Luo's quick defense, was still smirking coldly with dark eyes!

The distance between Feng Luo and the steep slope beside the abandoned ruin entrance was less than 30 meters. For Feng Luo, who was moving at his maximum speed, this was a distance that he could cover in just one second.

However, at that moment, Feng Luo was filled with another feeling.

The air around the area ten meters in front of the steep slope suddenly had a "heavy" feeling around it!

It was a similar feeling to when Feng Luo had felt the fire energy condensing in the sky above him earlier.

"Boom!"

Just as Feng Luo had that strange feeling, the area in front of the steep slope changed as an Earth Energy Wall appeared in an instant and completely blocked off his path.

The location where the Earth Wall appeared was amazingly well-timed and well-placed!

Since he had been running at maximum speed with the desire and need to run up the slope and away from this dangerous situation, he had not anticipated that an obstacle like an Earth Wall would block his way. He was unsure if his body would be able to react to the sudden appearance of the wall in front of him.

Due to his speed, it seemed impossible to stop his legs from running towards the obstacle in time!

Technically, at such a speed, anyone would crush their heads from the collision with the wall.

"Feng Zhi Luo Ye, you cannot escape!"

A hint of smugness could be seen in September Night Rain's gaze for a brief moment.

At that moment, he had pointed the energy converter that was in his hands toward Feng Luo's back.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"

A bunch of translucent light-green wind blades that were rotating at high-speed flew out of the energy converter and shot at Feng Luo's back like a speedy tornado. This was the Wind Manipulator's Level 45 skill called Spiral Wind Blade!

If Feng Luo slammed into the energy wall, he would definitely not be able to avoid the incoming high-level wind blades.

The combination of his attack type talent and the almost complete Legendary Grade energy converter would absolutely take out half of Feng Luo's HP with one hit. It would not matter that Feng Luo had an HP that was over 10,000.

A Machine Gunner, two Scouts, three Snipers, and four Manipulators were prepared to deal with the remaining half of his HP. There were also the two Light Armor Warriors who had already charged on ahead after him!

How could one mere Sniper survive this much attack coming from several different players?

September Night Rain's cold and hateful stare had gradually changed into a smirk. He was beginning to feel satisfaction at the thought of Feng Luo's demise.

However, a shout that had come from the Earth Manipulator behind him had snapped September Night Rain out of his satisfying thoughts before he could fully indulge in them.

"What?!"

Feng Luo, who was still moving at high-speed, had leaped into the air just before he could slam into the Earth Energy Wall. With Wings of Death in his hands, he avoided the two-meter tall obstacle with a single leap!

The advantage of a super high Agility stat was not only high movement speed. He had quicker reactions as well.

Although the jumping ability was still weaker than a Light Armor Warrior's Thunder Leap Slash, with the momentum generated from the Charge, jumping over this two-meter tall wall was not a problem at all!

"I don't understand. How did he avoid slamming into the wall in this situation? How did he manage to leap into the air a few meters ahead of the obstacle?! It's as if he had predicted the energy wall's position!"

"That is impossible!" yelled the Earth Energy Manipulator in disbelief.

September Night Rain, and the manipulators and gunners behind him, grimaced.

Feng Luo's leap over the wall was something that they had not anticipated. They had expected that he would slam into the obstacle that they had placed for him. Instead, he had done something completely different from their plan.

Therefore, the Spiral Wind Blade, machine and submachine gun bullets, and searing flames had only hit the Earth Energy Wall.

The wall was destroyed and collapsed after absorbing many attacks from the September Guild.

More importantly, Feng Luo, who had leaped over the Earth Energy Wall, had already climbed up the high slope in just a few tenths of a second. He had prepared to run into the forest up ahead in the high ground.

"You were able to dodge even this?! Feng Zhi Luo Ye, it looks like I still underestimated you! But do you really think you'll be able to survive?!" September Night Rain grimaced and said, "It won't be so easy to escape your fate."

On top of the slope, just a few steps before Feng Luo could enter the forest, a loud voice shouted!

"Stay!"

On the ground, a Light Armor Warrior from the September Guild tore off the camouflage leaves covering his body. He held a silver alloy sword with both hands and descended upon Feng Luo with a Thunder Leap Slash!

He sounded excited and agitated as he hurled forward. His face had a delighted expression as if he had just received a free meal!

Chapter 663: A Catch, A Kick, A Shot!

"Boss Night Rain sure is amazing. He took into account that Feng Zhi Luo Ye might try to escape using this route. So, he arranged for me to camp above the slope so that I could attack him if he did! However, I did not think that Feng Zhi Luo Ye would be able to survive the ambush down below. Yet, he is already here! He is f*cking insane!"

The eyes of the September Guild's Light Armor Warrior were filled with happiness and shock.

However, there was more excitement in his eyes than anything else!

The excitement came from thinking that he was going to become a famous "superstar expert" that would be discussed by everyone in the coming days for killing a player who had awakened the Force!

Yes, he was going to kill him!

Even though he knew that Feng Luo had awakened the Force and had successfully escaped his teammates' planned ambush, he was still incredibly confident. He believed that he was capable of killing Feng Luo.

He had felt confident because he had already closed in on Feng Luo. For Snipers, a Light Armor Warrior at close range was simply a nightmare.

Even an average Light Armor Warrior would technically be able to kill a strong and high-level Sniper!

"Boom!"

The Thunder Leap Slash increased the length of his leap and speed. In addition to that, Feng Luo was currently still under the Raging Charge effect.

Therefore, the sharp edges of the silver alloy sword's blade in the hands of the Light Armor Warrior reached the chest of Feng Luo in an instant.

"Pa!"

The Blood Force Armor created by the Life Protozoa, which was covering Feng Luo's combat uniform, shattered almost instantly.

Although he dodged a majority of the attacks earlier, he was not able to completely avoid the damage inflicted by effect attacks.

Therefore, after he got past the Earth Wall, the Blood Force Armor covering his body had also reached its limit.

So, the powerful armor was ultimately useless when faced with this sudden attack that had a skill attached to it!

In addition, the power of the Light Armor Warrior's full-strength slash from above did not stop there.

After destroying the Blood Force Armor, the attack with the alloy sword only slowed down a little. It then continued to slash at Feng Luo's chest.

"Puff!"

However, the shattering of the Force Armor had created enough time for Feng Luo to react to his attacker.

His left hand, which was wearing the Black Eagle glove, moved toward his chest area just in time to catch the Light Armor Warrior's silver alloy sword blade at the last moment!

"Ka!"

The warrior's incredible strength, along with the momentum bonus granted by the Thunder Leap Slash skill, resulted in Feng Luo's arm making a cracking sound when he used the Black Eagle glove to catch the alloy sword moving towards his chest!

The chance of getting a crippling injury during melee combat was a lot higher than long-range combat!

However, Feng Luo getting the "injury" affliction, a "bone fracture" status on his arm, was extremely bad luck right now!

Although Feng Luo had the self-healing Force, and crippling injuries like broken arms or legs would only need less than ten seconds to heal, the problem right now was that a Light Armor Warrior only required less than ten seconds to kill a gunner in a melee PK match!

"Ha!"

The September Guild Light Armor Warrior had clearly heard the sound of Feng Luo's bone fracture.

Although he was surprised that Feng Luo caught his first strike using his hands, and that the glove that he used to catch the alloy sword did not break, it was not enough to affect the overall flow of the battle!

With an arm broken and the other holding the sniper rifle, Feng Luo did not have much space to struggle at this point in time!

Although Feng Luo's other hand was still holding the Wings of Death, he was not using the weapon to attack back.

The Wings of Death was over 1.5 meters in length. It was impossible to hit the Light Armor Warrior in this situation when he was so close in range!

Therefore, the Light Armor Warrior did not try to disarm Feng Luo because he felt that the weapon was useless in this situation.

The September Guild Light Armor Warrior's eyes had an excited look of victory when he spoke in delight. "You lose.."

However, he would soon stop talking.

"Dong!"

A pounding sensation in his gut is what silenced him.

After that, a strong force pushed his body, now in an arc shape, into the air. Immediately after, his body was sent flying backward until he slammed into a tree trunk three meters away!

The force that had struck him in the gut was a combat boot. The combat boot had the rare attribute of "accumulating power during movement" attached to it. When the combat boot is used to attack an enemy, the accumulated power can transform into a powerful impact with bonus damage. They were the SUV combat boots!

"Boom!"

[-2234 HP.]

The Light Armor Warrior, who was grinning in excitement just a moment ago, had been thrown into a tree by a powerful kick!

Although the description of this event seemed quite long, the total time that had elapsed was not even two seconds! The events of the battle between the two had passed by very quickly.

Since the Light Armor Warrior was now a reasonable distance from Feng Luo, he grabbed the Wings of Death using his uninjured right arm. He moved the weapon in front of him and aimed it at his attacker!

"F*ck!" The Light Armor Warrior's expression had changed after realizing the situation he was in now.

"Bang!"

A 14.55mm caliber double armor-piercing round spun at high-speed and hit the alloy helmet of the Light Armor Warrior. Then, after it punctured and flew into his head like a heavy hammer, the bullet burst through the back of his head and struck the tree trunk. It left a splash of blood trails on the ground and the tree trunk!

A white and red damage number appeared

[-807 HP.]

[-12065 HP.]

The white light of death engulfed the body of the Light Armor Warrior. The silver alloy sword in his hand fell on the ground as his body slowly slumped along the tree trunk and onto the ground.

Feng Luo stared at his dead enemy in confusion. He did not understand how he was able to kill him with one shot.

One should know that after the Light Armor Warrior learned that Feng Luo could one-shot-kill a target, he had switched into a set of Rare Grade equipment that was intended to increase his defense and HP!

Although the items were not considered top-class, the HP bonus was still quite considerably high. Furthermore, he also took an HP buff potion, which ultimately made his total HP rise to 15,000!

However, even with this much HP, he was killed rather easily!

Even though he had used a buff potion and had his HP almost at its maximum, he could not survive one gunshot?

Feng Luo was unsure of how powerful his damage was, but found it to be insane! He looked away from his dead attacker and realized that he still needed to get away from this area. He grabbed the Wings of Death and ran into the forest.

After a few seconds, two September Guild Light Armor Warriors reached the top of the slope before their other teammates. They saw a figure carrying a sniper rifle run into the forest. Then they noticed their fellow Light Armor Warrior lying on the floor with a headshot wound!

"Long Hair? Long Hair? Damn it… He could not take down our target."

"Pursue him!" They were filled with shock after a voice behind them had yelled.

They turned and saw the angry and anxious Young Master Sun and September Night Rain coming towards them. Even though they were grimacing, they exchanged glances with each other, gritted their teeth, and then continued to run after Feng Luo!

Author's Note:

I have adjusted the Fatal Talent based on the suggestions of a reader. The original one about Commander Grade and above units is almost useless. I did not think of it at the time.

The adjusted stats are below:

[Fatal Talent: Fatal Damage is increased by 100%! When in combat with humanoid units, if their defense has been completely damaged and if the damage from an attack that hits a vital spot exceeds half of the target's current HP, the Instant Death effect will be inflicted upon them. When in combat with targets that are Commander Grade and above, as well as non-humanoid units, Instant Death is ineffective. When the defense of the target unit has been completely damaged and when an attack hits a vital spot, the attack will deal extra damage based on the HP percentage of the target unit.]

Chapter 664: Exasperated Young Master Sun

"F*ck, a Light Armor Warrior versus a Sniper! He should have been able to handle taking down our target, but he did not even last more than five seconds before being killed. He was too f*cking useless!"

While looking at the headshot wound on the Light Armor Warrior's corpse, Young Master Sun grimaced under his white curly hair as if he was suffering from constipation.

One of the September Guild Snipers stared at Long Hair's body before investigating it carefully. After making his observations, he felt a chill creep up his neck and took a deep breath in.

"Our enemy's damage is too high. Based on the evidence left here, one bullet was all it took to pierce through Long Hair's helmet and to kill him."

Another Sniper, who had apparently watched videos on the forum of Feng Luo fighting on the Devil Tri-Horn Island, spoke in a worrying tone.

"Could it be that the speculations on the forum are true? Apart from awakening the Force, he has also completed the Legendary Grade sniper rifle set as well as acquired an S-Grade attack talent!"

"To actually succeed in escaping an attack like this… If he were to travel a great distance from us and use his pet to summon a bunch of wild monsters…"

The two Snipers' conversation caused September Night Rain to grimace while Young Master Sun glared at them both in anger.

"No matter what, Mouse and Five are already in hot pursuit of our target. With their equipment and strength, they will definitely be able to kill that Feng Zhi Luo Ye!" said the Fire Manipulator who had once provoked Feng Luo. He hoped his comment would calm down Young Master Sun.

Only the two Light Armor Warriors, Mouse and Five, went to chase Feng Luo. The rest of the September Guild members had stopped at the spot where Long Hair's corpse lay.

Although they all wanted to purse Feng Luo, the team consisted of only gunners, manipulators, one Heavy Armor Warrior, and one Doctor.

Upon witnessing Feng Luo's speed, they'd be kidding themselves if they thought that those who weren't Light Armor Warriors could catch up to him!

Moreover, the area beyond the slope was a dense subtropical jungle. Long-range professions would find it incredibly difficult to hit their targets in such a place.

"His speed was crazy fast! He even had a manipulator's energy shield, which is stronger than most shields. If it were someone else, they would have been dead after the first round of our attacks. Furthermore, the Earth Energy Wall I conjured up was perfectly placed! How could he have reacted to it on time while he was running so fast?!" The Earth Manipulator was quite puzzled and left with many questions.

Another Sniper player, with a look of admiration, said, "Could it be a Legendary Grade item's skill? After all, people who have awakened the Force can use the skills of Legendary Grade items!"

"Legendary?! As if! He survived and escaped because you are all a bunch of useless idiots. If my Legendary Machine Gun were complete, Feng Zhi Luo Ye, even with his Legendary gears and energy shield, would have been torn into pieces." Young Master Sun scowled at all of them. Although he thought some of their predictions about Feng Luo were true, he refused to speak up in agreement with them.

"Young Master Sun, they left this behind!"

At that moment, a Scout player walking up the slope toward them was carrying the box containing the Cerebrate.

"They did not have this box with them when they entered the site. This must be something they retrieved from the abandoned ruin. It cannot be stored inside an inventory, yet they took the trouble of carrying it with them. Therefore, it must be incredibly important!" The Scout player had spoken with excitement.

"Important item? Hurry up then! Open it!"

Young Master Sun's face relaxed slightly as he was filled with curiosity. However, after opening the box, his expression changed again.

"F*ck! What the hell is this shit?!"

The Cerebrate's corpse was incredibly disgusting. Furthermore, due to the attacks they had unleashed on the Nightless Club, the corpse had a few more bullet holes on its body. Nothing about it was visually pleasing at the moment.

The Scout player immediately used the Detect skill on the lifeless Cerebrate.

[A Zerg Cerebrate corpse that has been acquired as a mission item. Other stats and details cannot be detected.]

"F*ck! Close it now!"

Young Master Sun retreated two steps. His face was filled with disgust.

"Since it's a mission item, bring it along with us. We'll return directly to Storm City and have an NPC appraise it. If it's valuable, we'll sell it to NPCs. If it's not, we can just get rid of it. Since this thing is now in my hands, they can forget about completing that mission!" said Young Master Sun with a proud look on his face.

"Uh, Young Master Sun? Wouldn't that be inappropriate to do?" A Water Manipulator looked at Young Master Sun and cautiously said, "This PK battle is fine because they did attack and kill all of us in the abandoned ruin last time. So, it's fine if we get revenge. However, if this mission of theirs is very important, and we destroy this mission item, wouldn't it make things unresolvable between our teams in the future? After all, the Nightless Club is still a subsidiary of the Lu Conglomerate…"

"That is not our problem! Are you worried about Lu Chen's attitude? Let me tell you the truth. The Sun and Lu families are not as simple as you would imagine them to be. My dad connected us with the Lu Conglomerate and got us to work with the September Guild for a reason. Also, if not for our Sun family, the Lu Conglomerate would never have developed into their current state! Most importantly, Lu Chen could not wait for the Nightless Club to become enemies of our September Guild," said Young Master Sun. He seemed to be insinuating something.

However, after that, he turned around to look at September Night Rain.

"However, if my dad asks about this, Brother Night, you'll have to help me explain. The reason I am out here today is to help you attack Feng Zhi Luo Ye."

Although Young Master Sun was temperamental, he was still rather clever. Due to these qualities, he was quite similar to the Rui family's Young Master Xing.

"Yes," replied September Night Rain. However, his dark and sunken eyes were still staring at the forest.

Young Master Sun, as the third son of the Sun family, still had decent financial strength. However, this did not mean that September Night Rain needed to fawn over him continuously.

Furthermore, even though Young Master Sun was considered an heir to his family, they had given up on grooming him into an eligible successor because he was too useless and reckless.

However, his father was still the person in charge of the Sun Conglomerate, which was a shareholder of the September Guild. Therefore, September Night Rain still needed to show Young Master Sun respect. At this moment, though, September Night Rain was in a really bad mood.

He was bothered because Feng Luo had actually managed to escape!

He had prepared three insurance backup plans for this ambush, yet his enemy still got away!

His plan for revenge was to destroy Feng Luo while his fame was at its peak. September Night Rain, who had his video recording function on, was now in an incredibly irritable state!

"Mouse and Five, the two of you better show me you can handle this! If you both cannot kill him, then do not bother coming back!" shouted Young Master Sun. He had turned to the party channel to yell at the two Light Armor Warriors pursuing Feng Luo.

"Young Master Sun, we are trying to chase him, but he is too fast! Moreover…" One of the Light Armor Warriors responded through the communication channel while panting heavily. However, before the conversation could continue, a panicked shout came from the other side. "F*ck me!"

"Bang!"

At that moment, the sound of a gunshot came from within the forest!

"Ugh!"

Through the communication device came the shout of the other Light Armor Warrior.

Immediately following his shout was a bunch of crackling sounds. Then came the sound of his throat getting sliced. After that, there was nothing. Just silence.

Since the party channel could not display the status of a teammate that was out of range, none of them understood what had just happened!

A Scout player whispered, "In truth, did we forget something? This Feng Zhi Luo Ye isn't just a Sniper. The forum did say that his hidden profession is called Special Agent. It is also suspected that he has a second profession as either a Scout or a warrior!"

September Night Rain's face sunk.

It was clear that the words "hidden profession and "special agent" had poked at a particular spot in September Night Rain's heart.

"Why are you still standing there? Hurry up and get your stuff so we can retreat! He is a Sniper who has already escaped our ambush! Are you waiting for him to come back and pick us off one by one!?" shouted Young Master Sun in a flustered and exasperated voice.

Chapter 665: Mental Power's Hidden Effect

Inside the forest, Feng Luo displayed no emotion as he held onto his Ghost Weep, which was covered in a layer of black liquid!

Beside him, the September Guild Light Armor Warrior was pressing his hand against his neck as blood was spurting out of it. Feng Luo had fatally attacked him.

As he prepared to take his last breath, he could not believe that a Sniper had fatally wounded him in melee combat.

Moreover, the opponent relied only on a peculiar black military knife to cut open his throat.

The opponent was able to directly cut through his defensive neckgear, which was a C-Grade item, within the first attack. Then, by the time the second attack came, he suffered over 9,000 points of damage, which instantly emptied his HP bar.

For a Sniper to finish off a Light Armor Warrior using only two dagger strikes, this damage was even scarier than the sniper rifle!

Feng Luo, whose expression had not changed much since the beginning of the ambush, turned away from his fallen opponent.

He held the Wings of Death in his arm, and he moved swiftly across the forest toward the higher ground as if he were a silent leopard hunting its prey!

To be completely honest, being ambushed by the people from the September Guild did not really affect Feng Luo's mood.

As a Sniper, he had already developed a habit of maintaining a calm mind when he was engaged in combat with other players!

However, at that moment, Feng Luo began to feel a little upset.

He was upset because after initially leaving the land route point, he had long noticed an SUV following them from afar.

However, since this area was a leveling spot, and many vehicles drove to this location from Lu Conglomerate City, he did not think anything suspicious was going on. Therefore, even though he had noticed the vehicle following them, he did not pay too much attention to it!

Although he did not suspect them, Feng Luo was cautious and had left a Scout Beetle outside the ruins' entrance before entering it.

However, the ruins were probably built specifically to handle the Cerebrate and its mind control. So, after they entered the ruins, Feng Luo had realized that 24K could no longer establish communication with the Scout Beetle outside.

Now, 24K was in an unconscious state. As a result, it was natural that he did not know the whereabouts of the Scout Beetle that he had stationed outside earlier.

All of these were factors that helped September Guild's ambush to be successful!

Among the seven who exited the ruins, Feng Luo was the only one left, and he knew that the battle was not over. Therefore, even though he managed to take out three of the enemies, the victory for the first round of this battle belonged to the September Guild!

Feng Luo's face remained calm as his feet moved swiftly over and through the thick vegetation and vines of the forest.

After activating the Quick Sneak skill, which had now reached an Expert Level with 95% progress, Feng Luo received a speed bonus that allowed him to move like the wind.

In particular, with the help of the self-healing Force, his stamina recovered quickly. So, even though he was running at his maximum speed, he was only panting slightly!

One had to admit that the Force really did substantially power up a player. The Force had provided Feng Luo with 100 point bonuses on his basic stats, as well as various bonus attributes.

Treatments, recovery, and HP recovery, which were all effects of the self-healing Force, had made it possible for Feng Luo to fight the Light Armor Warriors in close quarters.

Furthermore, the Destroy Psionic Energy bonus property, plus the strengthened Fatal Talent, had allowed his melee combat ability to be just as skillful as a top-class Light Armor Warrior!

"However, those uneasy feelings I had experienced earlier…"

Feng Luo had a puzzled look on his face as he ran because he had remembered the weird feelings he had experienced during the ambush.

The first weird feeling had occurred when the September Guild Fire Manipulator had cast the Meteor Rain skill. When the enemy was still condensing the energy to formulate the skill, he had felt a sense of "heat" gathering above him. The second strange feeling had occurred when the Earth Manipulator had cast the Earth Wall. He had this strange "heavy" feeling at that time.

Heat and heavy… Was he feeling the fluctuations of energy waves when a person casts a skill?

Feng Luo then had an idea. When manipulators cast skills such as the Earth Wall or Meteor Rain to initiate long-range attacks, they first have to project the energy to a targeted location for a certain period of time.

This process would cause a certain degree of energy fluctuations. However, these fluctuations were usually weak and undetectable.

Furthermore, it was only when these skills were about to be completed that the energy fluctuations could be detected by a Scout's recon meter or a Manipulator's energy converter.

These late detections were not useful to help players dodge these energy skills!

However, Feng Luo's strange feelings did not occur when the skills were close to being completed. Instead, he probably felt them the moment the energies were projected.

This was why he could leap over the Earth Wall and escape that extreme situation.

Feng Luo suddenly thought of a possible reason.

"Perception, perception… Could this be an effect of my Mental Power increasing?"

In War, even though this was a hidden stat, it was definitely useful!

"If my guess is correct, then Mental Power definitely provides a powerful defense against the manipulator profession!"

Feng Luo immediately thought of the practical value that Mental Power possesses during battles.

To be able to detect a manipulator's skill in advance would significantly impact a manipulators' attacks. With this kind of ability, gunners and warriors would undoubtedly enjoy a significant benefit.

To be honest, in terms of War's three main professions, the manipulators had always had a slight advantage!

Compared to warriors, their damage output and attack range were just too great.

Furthermore, compared to the similarly low HP gunner profession, their energy shield provided them the ability to withstand a large amount of damage!

Based on the number of manipulators among the top players, which was around half of them, one could tell that they were incredibly popular.

If the Mental Power really had this effect, then manipulator players were probably going to cry about it soon.

Just as Feng Luo was thinking about those things, he had reached the edge of the forest. He ran to a location that seemed like a cliff.

"Ka!"

He raised the Wings of Death quickly, and through his sniping scope, saw two SUVs taking the September Guild people away from Lu Conglomerate City.

Feng Luo had anticipated that the people from the September Guild would not return to Lu Conglomerate City.

Even though Mu Zi and the others were killed, news about September Guild's attack on them would definitely have reached Mu Wu's ears offline.

No matter how reckless and cocky the people from the September Guild were, going back in such a high-profile manner at this time would most definitely cause an intense conflict. By then, even Lu Chen might be unable to mediate the situation!

As such, it was natural that they would not return to Lu Conglomerate City. Instead, they would head towards another city before heading back to Storm City.

However, now that they were exposed under the rifle of a top-class Sniper, would they be able to get there as they had wished?

Chapter 666: Consecutive Kills!

"Hurry! Don't dawdle! Get in the car!"

Around 200 meters from the ruins, the September Guild players ran and had now stopped beside two SUVs on the side of the road.

Since the system restrained players from accessing their personal vehicles after they had entered combat mode, the September Guild players had left the two SUVs here in the beginning. They had chosen to hide them in a location away from the ruins.

These were the vehicles that were supposed to take them away from this place after they achieved a victory. However, right now, these vehicles were going to help them to escape!

Their main issue was that Feng Luo had one-shot killed one of their Light Armor Warriors. It had shocked and frightened the September Guild players.

Even though they had seen the videos posted on the forum and were aware of Feng Luo's incredibly high damage, witnessing his power in person was frightening! The videos were not as intense as the real thing.

Furthermore, in their original plan, Feng Luo was not supposed to be able to escape! He was supposed to die in the ambush!

However, the harsh reality was that Feng Luo had managed to escape successfully and had also killed all of the Light Armor Warriors in their squad.

The group of players could not help but to fear for their own life!

A Sniper who could kill a player with one-shot was definitely a lot more frightening than a warrior or manipulator who could do the same!

Young Master Sun, with his head drenched in sweat, was the first one to reach the side of the vehicle. This particular vehicle had the strongest bulletproof capability in War and was worth over ten million credits. This vehicle, known as the Heavy Knight-15, was even more advanced than Big Pineapple's Heavy Knight.

Young Master Sun seemed to have remembered something. He turned around and saw the Heavy Armor Warrior carrying an alloy shield in one hand and the box containing the Cerebrate in the other. The warrior was about to get into the same vehicle as Young Master Sun. He looked at the box and was filled with disgust, so he said to the warrior, "That's right. Let Zi carry that thing in the other SUV!"

"Yes!"

The Heavy Armor Warrior immediately handed the box over to the Scout player, who was panting beside him, after hearing Sun's request.

However, the moment he passed the box to the Scout player, a small space had been created between him and Young Master Sun as he slightly moved his alloy shield away from him. This action exposed Sun's head as he opened the door of the Heavy Knight-15.

"Bang!"

A murderous and blazing hot sniper bullet pierced through the air and flew through the small space between the two players before slamming heavily into the back of Young Master Sun's head.

"Boom!"

[-8677 HP.]

No suspense had built up to this moment. After just turning around, Young Master Sun's head was blown to bits after being hit by Deflagration Armor-Piercing bullets!

The burning effect caused by the bullet had created a smell that came from Sun's head.

"Young Master Sun!"

The face of the Heavy Armor Warrior, who had turned around to hand over the box, turned green in an instant.

Before he could finish whatever he wanted to say, another shot rang in the air.

"Bang!"

[-5845 HP.]

The head of the Scout player, who was carrying the box containing the Cerebrate corpse, was protected by a Rare Grade tactical helmet. Moments after the shot rang in the air, the helmet suddenly had a large gaping hole in it, and from the hole, a large amount of blood spurted out!

After he was shot, the box containing the Cerebrate fell on the ground. As the box fell, his body, like Young Master Sun, was engulfed by the white light of death.

Two shots, two kills. The death comparison between the two camps was five to six!

"F*ck! He has already caught up to us! How is he so fast?!"

They did not need any other indicators to notify them of who their attacker was. The September Guild players knew who fired those two shots. It was Feng Luo.

September Night Rain, who was still frowning angrily, was instantly protected by Earth Walls and Water Walls that were created by the Earth and Water Manipulators. The rest of the players, however, had started to become pale.

The three Snipers from the September Guild began to shout. "Which direction are the shots coming from?!"

As they shouted, they aimed their sniper rifles toward an estimated direction of where the shots came from and fired!

"Bang!"

[-5378 HP.]

One of the Sniper players that had turned around to look through their sniping scope had met their unexpected demise. An incoming armor-piercing bullet had pierced through the scope and into his eye. His head was blown to bits.

Feng Luo had already killed three players in a row! Each of them had died from a fatal one shot. The number of deaths between the two groups had tied!

"F*ck me! How is he shooting so fast and accurate!?"

The two other Sniper players were now sweating profusely.

Feng Luo's snipes were less than one second apart. The sounds of his gunshots were pretty much signals of death.

Since his shots at them were so fast and accurate, none of them had enough time to aim and find him.

The difference between their speed was indescribable!

Just then, the remaining Scout player had finally found Feng Luo's position.

"Over there!"

As soon as he pointed out the location of Feng Luo, the remaining two Snipers and three manipulators, including September Night Rain, prepared to attack. They aimed their various skills and fired their bullets toward the location!

However, since Feng Luo's position was over 200 meters from them, manipulators could only use simple and basic skills.

At such a distance, after the reduction of damage on the higher-end advanced skills, the advanced skills' damage would be even lower than the basic skills, which were more effective in long-range attacks.

However, when the skills flew over toward Feng Luo, he had already moved from his position on the cliff!

Using this chance, the Fire Manipulator quickly opened to the door to the SUV and shouted at the Doctor player behind him. "Hurry! Get in the car!"

"Bang!"

[-6045 HP.]

The moment the Doctor player had picked up the medical box and ran towards the car, his head blew up just like the others before him!

This time, since the Doctor did not wear a protective helmet, his head really "exploded." Red and white substances splashed on the surface of the gray-colored energy SUV.

Feng Luo had moved away from the top of the cliff to avoid damage from the September Guild. Now, he was already well set-up at another position ten meters away.

The group of September Guild players had failed to react on time. Feng Luo fired his fourth shot and instantly killed the September Guild Doctor!

The death comparison between the two camps was seven to six!

He had overtaken them in this battle.

"Snipers, what are you doing? Can't the two of you suppress a lone Sniper?!" shouted a Water Manipulator anxiously as he fired a bunch of transparent Ice Arrows toward Feng Luo's position.

"F*ck, you make it sound easy. So, why don't you try it if you're so great?!"

The two Sniper players stared hard into their sniping scope. Their palms were completely soaked in sweat.

Both of them were veteran Snipers. However, if they wanted to attack, they still needed at least two seconds to aim.

After all, the distance was around 300 meters.

At such a distance, a Sniper needed to zoom in a few times before being able to take a shot!

However, their enemy did not need time to aim. Furthermore, he had not missed any of his five consecutive shots.

More importantly, even if the September Guild players succeeded in hitting the enemy's vital spot, they couldn't deal more than 4,000 points in damage.

This left them at a disadvantage since it appeared that any shot Feng Luo had sent their way would be fatal.

It had started to seem impossible for the September Guild to survive against Feng Luo's attacks.

Chapter 667: 'Superhuman' Sniping Ability

"Ka!"

On top of the cliff, Feng Luo immediately crouched back down after killing the Doctor player. He then switched out the magazine on the Wings of Death.

"Pa, pa!"

Two sniper bullets and a bunch of transparent Ice Arrows flew over his helmet. The remaining September Guild players had unleashed attacks on him but had only managed to hit the trees and vegetation in the forest behind him.

The position that he had currently occupied was over 20 meters above the ground. High ground was not called the best sniping spot for no reason!

Although he could not use the Scout Beetles to help him navigate through this location, he already knew the area perfectly. Since he had observed the surrounding terrain while using the Scout Beetle throughout their journey earlier, Feng Luo had already memorized everything that he had seen in this area. His mind was powerfully advanced.

As a Sniper, Feng Luo would instinctively think that the best sniping spots were tall buildings and areas with high ground.

With the advantage of this sniping spot, he instantly pushed the September Guild players into a "corner" before giving them any time to retreat!

"Rumble!"

Of course, no spot was completely safe.

The enemy still had manipulators who could initiate attacks from the sky and ground.

From above, Feng Luo had felt a "heavy" sensation suddenly gather.

After that, an energy meteor, which was over four to five meters wide, descended from the sky with a loud whistling sound!

When it slammed into the ground, it exploded and dissipated into Earth Energy. This was an Earth Manipulator's Level 40 Ultimate skill, and it had completely destroyed the area on top of the cliff.

However, now that Feng Luo had the Mental Power hidden stat, he was able to avoid their attacks. When he had felt the vague "heavy" sensation gathering above his head, Feng Luo had decisively rolled away and exited the range of the not-yet-materialized meteor!

However, even if he were hit, the damage of the mammoth-sized energy meteor, which had been reduced to only one-tenth of its original damage, would have only been able to reduce Feng Lup's HP by a few hundred points.

It would have only taken the self-healing Force one second for him to recover from that!

"Bang!"

The energy meteor crash-landed and caused dirt and dust to fill the air. Amidst the dust and dirt, Feng Luo got up once more from his second position.

With a focused look on his face, he held the Wings of Death in his hands and fired a fifth bullet.

[-5678 HP.]

The 14.5mm caliber armor-piercing bullet struck one of the Snipers' chest this time!

The bullet head, while spinning at high-speed, broke through the target's tactical vest and combat uniform at the same time. Then, it continued onward and smashed the target's rib cage into pieces before piercing through the heart. In the end, the bullet flew out of the Sniper's back, leaving a bowl-sized opened wound.

This time, Feng Luo did not go for a headshot!

However, the gunshot to the chest still resulted in an instant kill.

"How is this possible?!"

The remaining September Guild Sniper quickly shifted his aim again. However, the bullet that he shot in haste had only brushed past Feng Luo's head!

After that, he glanced at his teammate, who was now lying on the ground. The Sniper was soaked in sweat as he stared in disbelief.

"F*ck me! Five consecutive shots that were not even one second apart?! Plus, every shot hits a vital spot? Is this guy using a cheat code?!"

The mind of the September Guild Sniper, who was also considered an elite Sniper, was starting to crumble.

Even after discovering the enemy's location, the Sniper still needed two seconds to move his muzzle and shoot.

However, Feng Luo was able to dodge all of their attacks and still had enough time to shoot at them. He was able to lock on to his targets before hitting their vital spots accurately. Furthermore, all of the shots were only a second apart!

In terms of their marksmanship, the difference between them was like heaven and earth!

"Even Invikill and Thousand Miles were unable to do this, right?" The September Guild Sniper could not help but think of how Feng Luo was unique in his shooting abilities.

"Next, Scout!"

Feng Luo was still crouched on top of the cliff. He was looking at the ground, which had been turned into swiss cheese by the shooting of the enemy Scout's submachine gun, with a calm expression on his face.

At that moment, the September Guild Sniper was about to meet his untimely demise while Feng Luo was feeling a sense of euphoria that he had never felt before!

This sort of euphoria came from the happiness of killing five enemy players with one shot each!

He had already become used to the advancement of his mind, which was racing at the moment. He was wielding his sniper rifle as if it was an extension of his body!

Feng Luo's mind was more active than ever. With his sniper rifle in hand, all the data and factors that he usually needed to calculate seemed to have appeared in his mind effortlessly on its own.

As a matter of fact, even he was surprised by the five consecutive fatal shots he had delivered. He was also surprised that it took him less than one second to aim and shoot.

Usually, it would take about 15 seconds to shoot five times in a row.

Even though he had to stop shooting to dodge and change positions, he was still taking less than a second to snipe at his enemies!

Perhaps it was unnecessary for him to be proud of spending less than one second per shot.

After all, the Wings of Death's cooldown time, under Automatic mode and with Rapid Shooting activated, was less than one second.

Almost anyone could achieve this sort of shooting rate!

In some other games, some people could even consecutively achieve "instant snipes!"

However, in reality, how could sniping this fast be so easy!?

Besides, he was achieving one-shot kills from a distance of 300 meters, not 30 meters or less.

From Feng Luo's distance, his field of view, under the magnification of the sniping scope, was very limited.

Due to this limitation, every slight movement of the rifle, which could be caused by a slight trembling of the hand, might cause the bullet to miss the target by ten meters.

From Feng Luo's distance, it was unnatural for a person to achieve five fatal shots in a row, each shot being less than a second apart, while consistently changing positions and dodging attacks. This was not something that any other average human could do!

Someone who could accomplish this type of shooting would definitely be considered a "superhuman!"

Therefore, Feng Luo felt as if he was becoming a "superhuman."

He felt this was because of the incredible activity that was occurring within his brain. The activity that surged through his mind was more than ten times that of an average human. Perhaps, it was even more than that.

Although he was not 100% sure, Feng Luo felt that the main reason for this change in his brain was due to the substantial progress increase of the Seventh Brain Domain's development!

The first time he felt his thinking speed increase while he was shooting was after he awakened the Evolution talent.

Now, after entering combat mode, his mind's activity rate had definitely reached another level.

Furthermore, inside the ruins, apart from receiving an increase in the Mental Power stat, he had also received a notification stating that his general perception had significantly improved.

However, how exactly did his general perception significantly improve, and how was it different from any other Sniper?

Usually, a Sniper's visual perception in games should be very strong.

As long as a Sniper had trained long enough, even from a distance of 100 meters, they would still be able to see the target clearly.

After obtaining the special agent badge and the black gold ring's vision bonus, in addition to the vision bonus he received after synthesizing with the Evolution virus, the distance that Feng Luo could manage to see from had increased to 200 meters.

However, after the "significant improvement" to his general perception, his vision was strong enough for him to see things that were 300 meters away without any type of scope to assist him.

Although, to ensure accuracy, he still needed to use the sniping scope to zoom in on the target.

However, with his incredibly active mind and significantly improved perception, Feng Luo was definitely "superhuman" when he was sniping!

Chapter 668: Killing Through Cars!

"Ta, ta, ta, ta!"

The shooting sounds from the submachine gun had finally ceased as the remaining Scout player emptied his magazine.

"1, 2, 3…"

Feng Luo was not in a hurry to get back up. Instead, he counted quietly for a few seconds before lifting his body up to switch to another position. Then, he crouched halfway, exposing part of his head as he searched for his next target.

With the Wings of Death in hand, he found his target within a second.

"Bang!"

The Wings of Death fired a sixth blazing hot bullet during this second round of battle against the September Guild Players!

[-5678 HP.]

On the ground, after emptying his magazine, the Scout player had immediately withdrawn himself from behind cover.

By the time he had changed the magazine and reloaded, a bullet had pierced the Scout player in the head. Blood had gushed out of the Rare Grade helmet he was wearing.

"Ta, ta!"

Since his finger was still pressing down on the trigger of the submachine gun, the remaining bullets flew into the sky as the muzzle of the gun swung upwards due to momentum. Then, along with his distorted helmet, the Scout fell to the ground!

The death comparison between the two camps was nine to six!

"Bang, whoosh, whoosh!"

[-2545, -456, -504, -545 HP.]

This time, the numbers indicating the loss of HP popped up above Feng Luo's head.

After a sniper bullet and over 20 other submachine gun bullets flew into the air, a few Ice Blades, which had come flying down toward him from above, had hit his exposed head and body!

At the same time, the attacks also took away around 5,000 of his HP!

"Whoosh!"

Then, over a dozen light green Wind Blades pierced through the sky behind him and flew towards him. Feng Luo quickly pulled his head back.

"F*ck! Finally, I got a hit!"

The Sniper player who had hit Feng Luo couldn't help but tremble a little.

It had been quite a challenge for him to hit his opponent even once. He missed a total of five shots before he finally succeeded in hitting Feng Luo!

"Feng Luo definitely has more than one Legendary Grade item. It's completely insane for a Sniper to have more than 10,000 HP!" said a Water Manipulator who had activated an energy shield. "The good thing is that he just lost around 5,000 HP. He definitely used HP potions earlier, so right now, it should still be under cooldown. If he has only half of his HP left, he won't dare to appear again so soon…"

Of course, the September Guild players did not realize that Feng Luo's HP recovering ability was different from other players. Losing over 4,000 HP was an amount that most players needed some time to recover from by using healing potions. However, for Feng Luo, it wouldn't even take more than one second for his HP to recover if he maximized the power of the Force.

"A Sniper, four manipulators, and a Heavy Armor Warrior…"

Feng Luo held the Wings of Death and thought of his targets. Even though he was hiding behind the cliff, his mind could perfectly draw out a 3D image of each of the players' positions he saw just now.

He had killed six players, including five gunners and a doctor.

The remaining September Guild players were a Heavy Armor Warrior, four manipulators, and one Sniper!

So, who was going to be the next target?

Among them, September Night Rain was definitely the best choice.

However, September Night Rain and two other manipulators were now completely hidden behind cover.

Furthermore, the three of them had more than just energy shields protecting them. They had a Water Curtain and an Earth Wall in front of them!

A Water Curtain and an Earth Wall. These were two energy skills that Snipers detested the most because they were able to block the Snipers' line of sight completely. Furthermore, a Water Curtain had the ability to decrease a bullet's velocity and change its trajectory angle while the Earth Wall could directly block bullets.

This was the reason why Feng Luo did not try to kill September Night Rain in the beginning.

Apart from that, the Heavy Armor Warrior was now holding his shield and running toward the three manipulators.

Usually, Feng Luo wouldn't face many problems killing a shielded Heavy Armor Warrior since he had the destructive Wings of Death with him. However, if a Heavy Armor Warrior activated his or her defense skills, even Feng Luo would need a couple of shots to take them out!

It was clear that now was not yet the time to waste bullets and opportunities to one-shot players on a Heavy Armor Warrior who did not have any long-range attack skills!

However, the players from the September Guild finally made their move.

"Hurry up! Everyone get in the car!"

The gray energy SUV on the ground began to move.

After Feng Luo lost "half of his HP" and retreated, the Fire Manipulator, who once provoked the players from the Nightless Club, began driving the gray energy SUV toward September Night Rain's group.

The Fire Manipulator reacted to the situation quite quickly. Since the manipulators would not dare to move away from the protection of the Water Curtain, Earth Wall, and the Heavy Armor Warrior's shield, he would bring the car to them. By the time the others got into the car, he was confident Feng Luo would not be able to one-shot people through the energy SUV with unidirectional light transmission glass panes!

Even though this "Gray Bear" SUV was not as amazing as Young Master Sun's top-class Heavy Knight-15 SUV, it was still bulletproof. Even Legendary Grade weapons could not easily one-shot the people within it.

With the time provided by the Water Curtain's blocking of Feng Luo's line of sight, everyone would be able to get inside the SUV.

He did not believe that Feng Luo would be able to continue one-shotting them one by one if he was unable to see them.

"They are too naive!"

On the cliff, Feng Luo, who once again popped his head out above his cover, looked down at them. His gaze was calm but had a hint of mockery as well.

If they had gone inside the Heavy Knight-15 SUV, Feng Luo would be faced with a problem!

The Heavy Knight-15 was a lot thicker than Big Pineapple's Heavy Knight-13. Its alloy armor was comparable to tanks. Even a low caliber cannon would not be able to do much damage with one shot

Even though the Wings of Death was a 14.5mm caliber rifle, he would need a few B Grade Armor-Piercing Rounds to get pierce through the SUV's windows!

However, since he had taken out Young Master Sun with his first shot, the Heavy Knight-15, which was considered the best armored vehicle in the game, had become useless.

The "Gray Bear," which only costs around a million or so credits, could never withstand the Wings of Death.

"Bang!"

The moment the Water Curtain disappeared, Feng Luo's Wings of Death "roared" once more.

A 14.5mm Double Armor-Piercing Round pierced through the body of the Gray Bear SUV. Then, from an estimated angle, it struck the neck of the Water Manipulator who got into the SUV last!

[-5567 HP.]

After entering the car, the Water Manipulator was unable to maintain his energy shield, and the white light of death engulfed his body. He was killed by a very powerful shot that came from the Wings of Death's "Manual Mode!"

"How is this possible?!" This was the third time the September Guild Sniper shouted in disbelief.

"This energy SUV's defense is C Grade, and the thickness of it is comparable to light alloy shields. Even if a Fatal Damage bullet pierces through the energy SUV's armor, it should only deal around 2,000 points in damage at most. So, how did he get killed?!"

Theoretically, even if Feng Luo used the Wings of Death and a B-Grade Double Armor-Piercing Round that dealt Fatal Damage, he still should not have been able to kill him with one shot, even with the 100% bonus.

However, what if the person shooting had a super-powerful attribute in his talent that said, "damage that exceeds half the current HP of the target will inflict the 'Instant Death' effect?"

The death comparison between the two camps was ten to six!

Chapter 669: Angered Mu Wu

Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

"Finally, some luck!"

On top of the cliff, Feng Luo had a surprised look on his face as the edge of his mouth curved upward!

He had been somewhat lucky with his previous shot.

The remaining five players of the September Guild had all entered the SUV. Since the SUV used one-way glass panes, Feng Luo could not see the positions of the players inside.

As such, for this shot, Feng Luo estimated an angle to shoot from and made a judgment call.

Unexpectedly, the bullet he shot was able to pierce through the SUV and kill one person, which gave Feng Luo seven consecutive kills!

Apart from that, there was another reason why Feng Luo was lucky with his shot. Even though the players from the September Guild were forced inside the cramped space of the SUV, which made dodging bullets almost impossible, they definitely still had plans.

The Heavy Armor Warrior was the first person to enter the SUV. After entering the vehicle, he would definitely move further inside and place his armored body between those entering the vehicle and Feng Luo's location.

In that case, Feng Luo's bullet would have most likely been blocked by the Heavy Armor Warrior. With the SUV's defensive walls, even Feng Luo would not be able to one-shot a Heavy Armor Warrior!

Furthermore, since the SUV had already started accelerating at full speed, it would take ten seconds at most for the September Guild players to exit from his line of sight.

By then, Feng Luo would be unable to pursue them since he was in the combat mode and could not access his personal vehicle. If they were to drive away from the location successfully, he would definitely lose sight of them, and it would allow the remaining September Guild players to escape!

The September Guild's plan was actually quite good. However, no matter how good their plan was, they did not anticipate Feng Luo's lucky shot.

The shot flew past the area that the Heavy Armor Warrior was unable to block and killed the Water Manipulator. The damage caused by the bullet was also incredibly high!

Understandably, this caused everyone inside the energy SUV, driven by the Fire Manipulator, to panic.

However, at that moment, they had no other choice.

Since they had already got in the vehicle, their only option was to continue moving forward.

They had initially considered opening the hatch on the roof of the SUV to let their Sniper duel Feng Luo in order to buy them more time.

However, after looking at the expression of the Sniper player, whose face was splashed with the blood of the Water Manipulator, that was probably not an option anymore!

However, it was not like the players of September Guild had no way of responding to this attack.

"Hurry up! Go up there and stop our enemy!"

On the ground, three pets were charging toward Feng Luo at full speed. One of them had even opened its mouth and fired several energy bombs at Feng Luo!

In truth, there were initially four pets.

However, after Feng Luo's blind shot killed the Water Manipulator in the SUV, the manipulator's pet, an Elite Grade Red Feathered Vulture, had also been engulfed by the white light of death in the sky around 100 meters from Feng Luo!

After the Light Armor Warriors deaths within the forest, the September Guild players had been giving their all to avoid this fight with Feng Luo.

After Feng Luo escaped their ambush, they were unable to find a good enough spot to hide and wait for him to reappear before fighting him again with their numerical advantage.

However, since Mu Zi and the others had died during the ambush, the September Guild players were worried that Mu Zi's group would notify the players from the Nightless City. If that happened, they might be surrounded soon if they did not leave. Furthermore, they were afraid of Feng Luo's pet!

As a group of players who had specifically made arrangements to ambush Feng Luo, Young Master Sun and September Night Rain did not lack information on Feng Luo!

There was a video of 24K on the forum that had gone viral. The video showed that on the Devil Tri-Horn Fog Island, 24K summoned a large number of "wild mobs" to block a bunch of top players from North City.

After witnessing 24K's combat method, they were well aware that if Feng Luo were to escape from their ambush, he would be able to use 24K to summon an army of beetles. Combined with Feng Luo's ability to kill players with one shot, they would have no chance of victory!

Due to this, even the typically proud September Night Rain had to admit defeat.

In the past, during the Big Escape special agent profession change mission, September Night Rain had already suffered at the hands of the beetle soldiers before. He was the first superstar player to witness 24K's strength!

That was why they had to escape!

The Gray Bear SUV, which was valued at around a million credits, was powered by a four-wheeled energy engine. It was moving away from Feng Luo at full speed.

Three Elite Grade pets were, on the other hand, roaring as they ran towards Feng Luo. They were trying to help their masters gain some time to retreat!

However, Feng Luo did not pay attention to the three pets that were around 200 meters away from him. He even ignored the few energy bombs, which would cost him a few hundred HP, that were already on him.

"Bang!"

Feng Luo's gaze was fixed on the Gray Bear SUV that was currently moving away from him as he pressed the trigger on the Wings of Death once more after the cooldown had elapsed!

"Dong!"

A searing hot Deflagration Armor-Piercing bullet struck hard on the energy SUV, which had moved a dozen meters or so away.

However, this time, nobody was killed. This was because the shot was not aimed toward the upper half of the vehicle. Instead, it had struck the lower part of the vehicle!

"F*ck, he wants to shoot the energy engine and destroy the core of the vehicle so that our SUV breaks down." The September Guild Sniper identified the location of the vehicle that was shot at based on the sound it made upon impact. "Don't drive in a straight line! Move in an 'S' shape!" he shouted at the Fire Manipulator.

"What the hell are you so scared of?" replied the Fire Manipulator. "The energy SUV's engine is like the energy core of a fighter jet. It is not only located at the bottom part of the car, but a thick layer of armor also surrounds it. Even if he has a Legendary Grade sniper rifle, it isn't possible to destroy the engine in ten seconds!" However, the tone of his voice revealed a little bit of panic.

1

"F*ck, didn't you just say that this vehicle of yours is amazingly bulletproof and that it would be impossible for him to kill someone in it?" The Sniper pointed at the blood all over his body and said, "Well, look at what happened to Old Water! So, hurry up! Move in an 'S' shape!"

The two of them continued to argue. September Night Rain still had not uttered a word. His face remained cold and gloomy.

The Fire Manipulator choked for a bit but then remained stubborn as he said, "F*ck, he was able to kill Old Water because of some dumb luck. Don't speak to me anymore. I'll be getting us out of this shit soon!"

"Dong!"

As he finished speaking, the sound of a second sniper bullet hitting the SUV engine's outer shell came from outside.

From the sound of it, it seemed like the shot landed on the same spot.

"Motherf*cker!"

The Fire Manipulator cursed in panic. He finally listened to the Sniper player's suggestion and started driving the SUV in curves.

If it were someone else shooting at the car, it would definitely be impossible for them to destroy the engine within ten seconds.

However, since it was Feng Luo shooting at the SUV, the Fire Manipulator was starting to feel afraid.

Who's to say that their last method of getting out of this place wouldn't get destroyed?!

Meanwhile, on top of the cliff, Feng Luo, who had just fired the second shot at the enemy's SUV, was suddenly distracted.

His communication device had started ringing.

Feng Luo heard Mu Wu's deep voice came from his device after he reconnected it.

"Old Feng, you're still fighting them, aren't you?! I've brought some guys with me! Hold them off for three minutes, that's all I need!"

Although Mu Wu's voice was calm, Feng Luo could feel a sense that anger was radiating from him.

Lu Conglomerate City was only a few miles away from this location. If they were to drive at full speed, they would not need long to get here.

Furthermore, this place was a leveling zone. Therefore, many Nightless City players would be leveling up around the area. In fact, there was more than one group of Nightless City Club players training in the area that September Night Rain's group was driving toward!

Chapter 670: A Pitch Black Bullet!

Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

The relationship between Mu Wu and Feng Luo was different and unique.

Therefore, Feng Luo had allowed for his communication device to accept Mu Wu's messages automatically.

However, Mu Wu's recent message had caused Feng Luo to lose focus of his target.

"Bang!"

As a result, there was a lack of accuracy in his third shot from the Wings of Death.

Instead of hitting exactly where the previous two bullets had hit, the third bullet hit the rear right wheel of the Gray Bear SUV. The September Guild players were escaping.

"Boom!"

A loud noise had come from the rear right wheel of the SUV as the September Guild players felt the entire car shake.

"He switched and hit the tires!?" The Fire Manipulator glanced at the system's notice on the damage of the vehicle. The tone in his voice revealed that he was joyful instead of shocked.

In War, the SUVs took into account the complex environments that the players drove through. Therefore, the wheels were not made of just rubber. Since they also contained a special alloy material, the tires could not be destroyed by merely one or two shots.

Even if he managed to destroy one of the tires, the SUV would still be able to drive. The driving mechanics of the vehicles in the game had long taken into account these types of situations. Therefore, having one less tire would only affect its stability and speed. However, the September Guild players would still be able to escape by using the car.

Therefore, if Feng Luo continued to shoot at the tires of the vehicle, they would have a chance to escape. The Fire Manipulator let out a huge sigh of relief.

Since the third shot was wasted on a rear tire, the chances of Feng Luo blowing up the engine were quite low. Even if he began to shoot at the engine again, there was not enough time to cause severe damage to it since they would have escaped by then!

However, just when the Fire Manipulator was rejoicing internally, September Night Rain, who had been behind him with a gloomy face, had a huge change in his expression after receiving a message.

"Go faster! That Mu Wu is bringing the people from the Nightless City Club to surround us! Jiao and the rest have no way to hinder them!" Everyone in the car was filled with shock after hearing what September Night Rain said.

When the September Guild players had planned their ambush on Feng Luo and his group, September Night Rain had allocated people to watch the players of the Nightless City Club in Lu Conglomerate City for any movement. After a player is killed, news of the player's death would quickly spread around in the game. Therefore, it was essential for them to keep an eye on enemy players.

If their original plan had been successful, any actions from the Nightless City Club would be futile because they had no intention of going directly back to Lu Conglomerate City. Furthermore, after they terminated Feng Luo and his group, there would be no way anyone could follow their escape tracks.

However, they had never anticipated how much their original plan would fall apart. Despite how much they focused their attacks on Feng Luo during the ambush, he had still managed to survive and escape. It did not matter that he was a Sniper and that they were attacking him in close range.

After escaping their ambush, Feng Luo had managed to kill seven of their players with seven consecutive shots. If they count the three Light Armored Warriors that he killed in the forest, then that would amount to ten of their players killed.

Fourteen September Guild players attacked five Nightless City Club players. However, ten of the September Guild players were killed. The outcome was quite embarrassing.

Furthermore, if they were to be surrounded by the people of the Nightless City Club, the situation would become even worse for them.

Meanwhile, on top of the cliff, Feng Luo responded to Mu Wu's message before he hung up the communication device.

"Ok, I understand!"

The communication time between him and Mu Wu was short because all of their words toward one another were straightforward.

Since a group from the September Guild had just ambushed Feng Luo's group, the Nightless City Club players thought Feng Luo was quite fortunate to escape with his life. They figured that he must be hiding somewhere since there was no way that he could go up against a group of more than ten players. Especially since that group had a superstar player amongst them.

However, Mu Wu was confident that Feng Luo had survived and escaped the ambush. He was even certain that Feng Luo had planned a counter-attack and would have the upper-hand in such a situation. Mu Wu had this much confidence in him.

Therefore, after receiving the news of the ambush, he rushed to the location with backup.

However, Feng Luo had found that the exchange of messages with Mu Wu was a waste of his time.

Even though his mind was still very active, he was unable to focus on his aim while receiving and sending messages. If he would continue to receive messages, he might as well stop shooting at his enemies because his aim would be inaccurate.

During the few seconds he had spent exchanging messages with Mu Wu, the SUV below was able to drive further away from his line of sight.

Therefore, considering his aiming time in manual mode, Feng Luo would have time for no more than three shots.

Actually, to be more precise, he would only have enough time for two more shots because the SUV was driving out of his line of fire rather quickly.

If they were to drive away any faster, September Night Rain and the others would manage to escape to a location outside his shooting range.

Even if Feng Luo directly jumped down the cliff now, he would be unable to catch up to the enemy players on time because he was currently 500 meters away from them and couldn't access his personal vehicle while in combat.

Even if he had managed to catch up to them on time, he would be at a disadvantage since he did not have adequate protection for close-range combat.

Feng Luo had the opportunity to shoot at the vehicle two more times. However, if these two shots were unable to stop the SUV, then he would only be able to notify the other Nightless City Club players about the vehicle's route. However, these players would most likely be unable to stop September Night Rain.

"Click!"

However, even though Feng Luo only had enough time to shoot at the SUV with two more shots, he did not move with urgency.

Although he was not shooting at the enemy players yet, his hands had remained moving during the time he was communicating with Mu Wu.

Feng Luo had taken out the magazine on the Wings of Death, which was now in manual mode. After that, he loaded a sniper rifle bullet into the chamber before he loaded the magazine again. This whole process took three seconds.

Although, these actions seemed to be somewhat pointless. The Wings of Death had a total of three magazines, which consisted of three types of 14.5 mm bullets. All three magazines still had rounds within them, so there was no need to remove the magazine to load another round into the chamber. Furthermore, this bullet, based on its shape, was not much different from the B-Grade Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet that was initially loaded in the magazine.

However, if you looked at it again, you could see that this particular sniper bullet and the usual Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet were undoubtedly different.

The bullet he loaded into the chamber was a Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet that was covered by a thin layer of something black. The substance covering the bullet was a black shade that seemed as smooth as a mirror. It seemed like all forms of light, and even "souls," would be pulled into the darkness of the bullet.

It was a pitch-black sniper bullet!

Within Feng Luo's sight, the Gray Bear SUV was "running away" at full speed!

Furthermore, the vehicle was moving in a type of "S" shape maneuver, which made the SUV's movement quite erratic.

The muzzle on the Wings of Death was moving in slight angles, and the finger covered by the Black Eagle gloves was ready to pull the trigger.

The Gray Bear SUV continued to drive away and only needed two more seconds to escape from Feng Luo's shooting angle completely.

This was actually the last opportunity for Feng Luo to stop the September Guild players from escaping in the SUV.

"Bang!"

The Wings of Death finally rang again.

The Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet shot out of the muzzle at a speed of 1500 m/s.

However, this time, the bullet's tail flame was no longer red. Instead, it was a much darker shade of black.

Chapter 671: Psionic Bullets

The pitch-black sniper bullet was flying through the air silently, and it was as if the darkness of the bullet was consuming the air.

After the bullet flew over a distance of more than 500 meters, it went into the hole of the Gray Bear SUV that Feng Luo had created with the previous two shots. It then accurately hit the engine of the SUV, which was constructed with the highest defense. Its defense coefficient was even higher than the most elite of alloy shields.

Swish!

The pitch-black substance that was covering the sniper bullet appeared to be affected by something as intense ripples formed on the substance.

The high-strength alloy armor, with a thickness of up to ten centimeters, was practically impenetrable by players' equipment. Theoretically, no bullet would be able to pierce through it completely.

However, the sniper bullet, with the effect of the black substance surrounding it, created a pitch-black bullet hole on the engine. It pierced through it so easily as if it was a knife slicing through tofu.

"Wow!"

The bullet drilled into the armored interior of the engine, and its velocity remained unaffected by the impact.

However, the black substance surrounding the bullet was continuously fading away. When the bullet was about half a centimeter away from the engine, the black substance had finally disappeared!

However, it had remained long enough to inflict sufficient damage.

The large-caliber B-Grade armor-piercing bullet was absolutely capable of piercing through armor that was half a centimeter thick without the help of a special substance surrounding it.

Dong!

The Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet hit the core of the energy engine. Then, it aggressively burst into a giant orange flame!

Then, right after that, the flame and energy that burst out from the bullet were mixed with the highly active energy particles in the engine.

Upon impact, it created a reaction.

Boom!

Just as the Gray Bear SUV, which was driving at top speed, was about to escape from Feng Luo's sights, a loud noise came from somewhere above the engine.

An explosion-like energy ball made of flames began to spread through the engine within an instant.

At the same time, the explosion tossed the rear half of the energy SUV, with a malfunctioned rear wheel, forward and then upward.

Then, the SUV, which was moving at full speed initially, rolled over!

Boom!

The Gray Bear SUV, which was worth around a million credits, flew upward from the explosion and fell to the ground on its side. The car body slid forward against the ground while on its side for a small distance before it came to a full stop.

The exploded SUV was a devastating sight to see!

"Sure enough, Psionic Energy can be applied to bullets as well!"

Above the cliff, Feng Luo's eyes sparkled with shock and joy.

The pitch-black sniper bullet that he had just shot at the SUV was not a new, special type of bullet. Instead, it was a Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet that was infused with destructive Psionic Energy.

The effect of destructive Psionic Energy had already been tested on Ghost Weep earlier when Feng Luo and his team had tried to destroy the safe that carried a Cerebrate.

Although Feng Luo did not think about applying this effect to the bullet initially, he ended up deciding to give it a try.

The result of its impact on the SUV engine proved it to be amazingly powerful!

In theory, it would require at least two or more shots to be able to destroy the core armor of the energy engine. However, the engine was successfully pierced and destroyed with just this one bullet.

The Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet's success in piercing through the engine had caused a "wonderful car accident."

The backup plans that he had initially anticipated using were no longer needed.

Due to him having a vision that was strong and advanced, he was able to see what was happening from his position.

There was already a large convoy from Lu Conglomerate City driving over toward the car accident.

Based on a rough estimate, at least fifty cars were traveling together!

Under this situation, Feng Luo did not even need to attack the September Guild players while they were in the car crash. With the convoy heading straight toward them, all of the enemy players would have no chance to escape. Actually, it was completely fine if the Heavy Armored Warrior escaped because they just needed September Night Rain and the Fire Manipulator to stay put.

However, Feng Luo knew better and had anticipated that the players left in the September Guild were not going to sit back and do nothing.

Dong!

Feng Luo watched as the door of the rear half of the SUV, which was flipped sideways on the ground, was slammed open. A tactical helmet quickly emerged from the edge of the door.

If he were any other average person, he would have most likely shot at the helmet that was exposed.

However, Feng Luo stayed still with the Wings of Death in his hands and, surprisingly, did not shoot.

Just as he predicted, the tactical helmet only peeked out from the door for a moment before going back inside the "safety" of the car.

In reality, the helmet was not being worn by any player. It was used as a decoy.

If Feng Luo had opened fire at that moment, he would have shot at an empty helmet.

If he had fallen for this trick, the opposing Sniper would have earned at least a second to be able to rush out directly and to take cover behind the SUV. Then, he would have had enough time to snipe back at Feng Luo, which would help the other players to gain enough time to escape.

Of course, it was uncertain if the opposing Sniper would even have the bravery to go up against Feng Luo because after that plan failed, there was a period of silence and stillness in the flipped SUV.

After waiting for five seconds, the front door suddenly opened.

Then, a head wearing an alloy helmet peeked out again.

The September Guild's players were also clever because when the front and rear doors are both open at the same time, the rear door could block the front door and cause a problem for Feng Luo.

In this situation, it was impossible for Feng Luo to hit any of the enemy players' vital spots.

Additionally, the player who came out of the car was obviously the Heavy Armored Warrior. If Feng Luo could not inflict fatal damage to the Heavy Armored Warrior, then he would not be able to cause much damage to him at all.

The September Guild players' plan was not bad at all.

However…

Bang!

In the second half of the fight, the twelfth shot from the Wings of Death rang into the air.

A pitch-black sniper bullet burst through the air!

The Heavy Armored Warrior from the September Guild, who was swiftly trying to charge out from the opened door of the flipped SUV, had his head impacted by something like a sledgehammer.

[-5234 HP.]

The bullet, which caused a loss of over 5,000 HP, had hit the Heavy Armor Warrior with such a strong impact that it caused him to fall back.

This gunshot caused the other four players in the vehicle, who had wanted to follow suit, to stay immobilized at that moment.

The bullet that caused the Heavy Armor Warrior to lose 5,000 of his HP would definitely cause the others to lose more than 10,000 of their HP. This amount of HP loss would result in an instant kill.

The Sniper in the SUV had been shouting the word "impossible" for the fourth time in a row.

Although the energy SUV door's defense could not be compared with the engine armor or an alloy shield combined with specialized material, it was definitely strong enough to disrupt the power of an average sniper rifle by more than 70 percent!

However, this shot from Feng Luo, after piercing through the car door and piercing through the Heavy Armor Warrior's headgear the same way, could actually inflict a damage shot that exceeded 5,000?

This damage was definitely more intense than what they initially predicted.

Although they had car doors to use as a shield, what if Feng Luo's bullet pierced through the car again as it had done when it killed their Fire Manipulator?

The September Guild players in the SUV, other than September Night Rain, were all uneasy.

Although September Night Rain was still sitting in place, his original expression, which was filled with anger, had changed into one filled with disappointment.

In addition to the dilemma of being trapped in the car, he felt flustered by the large convoy that was getting closer to them.

Then, at that moment, there was a cold and angry voice coming out from his communication device.

Chapter 672: Tripartite Convergence

There was actually no movement within the SUV.

After the Heavy Armor Warrior had attempted to exit the vehicle, the four remaining players in the flipped SUV, including September Night Rain, all chose not to come out!

Feng Luo squinted his eyes as he found this to be strange!

The last shot that hit the Heavy Armor Warrior, plus the previous shot which instantly killed the Water Manipulator, should have let September Night Rain know that staying in the SUV was not actually completely safe. Furthermore, since the Heavy Armor Warrior had exited the vehicle, he could not act as a shield for them. Therefore, it was strange that he would not move from such an unsafe spot.

This SUV, which was unable to escape again, was like a cage that was waiting to be torn apart.

Yet, September Night Rain actually chose to stay in the SUV.

Does this mean that he has surrendered?

[You have a message!]

At this time, Feng Luo's communication device suddenly rang, and it was displaying the name "Brother Ling."

Brother Ling, who was once the bodyguard of the CEO of the Lu Conglomerate, was the person in charge of overall planning in the Lu Conglomerate City building mission in Roguetown during the "biochemical crisis."

As for his real name, he was called Ling Wu.

The relationship between Feng Luo and Ling Wu was not bad. However, it was obviously not as good as the one Feng Luo had with Mu Wu. So naturally, he did not set messages from Ling Wu to be automatically accepted.

Even if Feng Luo did not accept the message manually, Ling Wu was no longer the boss's bodyguard but the senior department manager at the headquarters of the Lu Conglomerate. Therefore, Feng Luo was aware of what his message would be about before he even accepted it.

Feng Luo raised his head and looked straight forward. This time, the convoy coming from the Lu Conglomerate could be seen very clearly through his scope.

The number of vehicles exceeded his expectations. Instead of his estimate of 50 cars, there were at least 100 cars in the convoy.

After closer inspection, however, Feng Luo pondered over what he saw.

Through the scope, he saw the people who came from the direction of Nightless City were actually divided into two groups.

Near the middle part of the fleet of the Nightless City Club, there were about thirty cars.

However, the cars that were trying to overtake them from the sides and behind were not from the Nightless City Club. Instead, it was a mix of vehicles from the Lu Conglomerate and the September Guild, consisting of nearly 100 cars.

Feng Luo was able to identify who the vehicles belonged to because some of the cars had open roofs, and some players were standing on top with their weapons in their arms! Furthermore, the players that exposed themselves through the open roofs were wearing their guild badges.

Although the two sides did not attack each other, the people of the Nightless City Club and the people of the September Guild appeared to be hostile toward one another!

Furthermore, there were still new cars driving over from the direction of Lu Conglomerate City.

Amongst them, some of the players did not even understand what was going on. It seemed like they were coming over just to watch the chaos as if it was a show, and some of them even opened computer screens on top of their cars.

As the closest city to Silvermoon City, Lu Conglomerate City was also one of the borderlands player cities.

So naturally, there were people who came from all over the place, especially people from Stormwind City, to witness the chaos.

Obviously, September Night Rain should have received news about what was going on outside.

For some reason, however, he seemed to have chosen to stay in the SUV. Perhaps because he knew that if he got out of the car, he would immediately be killed off by Feng Luo.

If he were to be instantly killed by Feng Luo while so many other players were spectating, then his reputation as one of the "Top Ten" superstar players would be completely damaged to the point of no return.

Moreover, it would also increase the popularity of Feng Luo to its peak.

However, if he were to stay in the SUV, even if Feng Luo killed him while he was in the vehicle, he would be in a better situation.

Although his reputation would still be ruined, at least no one would be able to record a video of his downfall. Therefore, the situation would not be completely irreparable as long as he did not speak up about it.

Even then, he was sure that some of his fans would refuse to believe this situation and would instead hate Feng Zhi Luoye.

Furthermore, even though Feng Luo seemed to have gotten a lot of attention recently, he was not considered an actual superstar player. He did not even have any recordings of him killing players during a solo fight.

Even though September Night Rain's popularity had recently fallen, he would still have many more loyal fans than Feng Luo since he has been an active player for so long.

Nevertheless, Feng Luo was still unsure of what September Night Rain's actual reason was for staying in the vehicle.

However, there was no need for him to figure this out.

Since September Night Rain did not want to leave the vehicle, he did not need to use other measures to stall the players in the SUV.

Instead, he could take some time to deal with the three Elite Grade pets that the September Guild players had sent toward him earlier.

Roar!

A leopard-like pet had managed to climb up the cliff Feng Luo was standing on top of. It approached him from behind without making any sound. Then, it pounced forward and, with a fishy stench coming from its big mouth, prepared to bite into Feng Luo's neck.

Puff!

The Ghost Weep blade, wrapped in a layer of black substance, sliced into the pet leopard's neck.

[-10250 HP.]

The leopard and its fangs were stopped by the knife in its neck.

Fresh, fiery blood sprayed out of its mouth and onto the ground of the cliff.

The "Instant Death" effect from his Fatal Talent was not effective against non-humanoid units that were Commander Grade and above. This leopard pet was of an Elite Grade.

The three pets died without hardly any struggle from Feng Luo. The two melee pets were unable to touch him at all.

Only the energy bomb sent out by the long-range pet had managed to hit Feng Luo a few times, which took away about 3,000 of his HP.

However, the loss of this amount of health points was meaningless under the self-healing Force.

Bang!

[-5600 HP.]

Feng Luo had dealt significant damage to the pet, which resulted in it losing over 5,000 of its HP.

If pets did not have special abilities, even if they were Commander Grade pets, Feng Luo was not worried or concerned with them.

Shortly after Feng Luo killed off the three pets, the Nightless City Club's convoy was approaching the Gray Bear SUV, which was flipped over on the ground!

Tsk!

The SN600 bulletproof energy SUV, which Feng Luo had once sat in, came to a halt in front of the damaged Gray Bear SUV. Since Mu Wu is a Light Armor Warrior, he stepped out of the vehicle armed with an alloy sword.

In games, Mu Wu rarely put on equipment.

In most cases, he would only wear a pair of gold-wired glasses to block any light from hitting his eyes.

However, this time, he actually put on an entire outfit with equipment.

After getting off the vehicle, he did not have any intention of stopping to observe the scene. Instead, he immediately ran toward the flipped SUV, which was not at all far from him.

"Mu Wu, don't be impulsive!"

At this time, another SUV of the same model drove in from the side and stopped immediately. Brother Ling frantically shouted towards Mu Wu as he exited from the vehicle.

Compared to Mu Wu, Brother Ling, who once worked as the bodyguard of the CEO of the Lu Conglomerate, was now looking more like a manager. It seemed as if he was in a hurry because he was dressed a bit untidily.

Mu Wu said nothing as he continued to carry the alloy sword and advance toward the damaged SUV.

Behind him, the vehicles belonging to the Nightless City Club were also stopping and opening up one after the other as players exited while carrying their weapons. They had anger written all over their faces as they swiftly gathered behind Mu Wu.

The convoy belonged to the Lu Conglomerate and the September Guild. Although they had more people, they were intentionally hindered by the vehicles belonging to Nightless City Club. Therefore, they were prevented from catching up and were quite a distance behind them.

"Hey! Mr. Mu Wu, can you help me tell Feng Luo that I want to talk to him personally!"

Another player exited from Brother Ling's SUV and let out a sigh.

He was a small player and was wearing casual clothing. There was a bitter smile on his face.

However, he was another familiar acquaintance.

He was Mr. X. He, who once went to Feng Luo to buy the Life Force awakening chip, was also one of the Nine-Star Guild's senior players. He was one of the Nine-Star Guild's co-founders with Zi Wei's "Zi Wei Star." He was "Celestial Star."

"Wow, f*ck! What is this situation?"

"The Nightless City Club, the Lu Conglomerate, and the people from the September Guild! Is this going to be a guild fight? "

"D*mn, this is starting to get interesting! Quick, record everything!"

Some of the players, who had come to watch this event, were excitedly talking to one another. They asked one another about what they thought was going to happen.

After all, only these three guilds had a station in Lu Conglomerate City. Therefore, it made this situation quite interesting.

At this time, all of the three guilds were together, and it appeared as if the Nightless City Club had the most anger.

Chapter 673: "Feng Zhi Luoye's" Fans

"I'm not quite sure, but I have heard that the players from the Nightless City Club were attacked by the players from the September Guild during a mission. Therefore, the Nightless City Club chairperson brought people to exact revenge!"

The players who had heard about what happened began to share the information with other players.

"The Nightless City Club? Aren't they the subordinate guild of the Lu Conglomerate? Furthermore, doesn't the September Guild and the Lu Conglomerate have an extremely temperate relationship? So, why would they suddenly stir up such a commotion?"

There were players who were not fully aware of the relationship between these three big guilds, and they were extremely confused after hearing these statements.

"Brother, you've just arrived in Lu Conglomerate City, haven't you?"

"Although they are a subordinate guild of the Lu Conglomerate, in reality, the Nightless City Club is not inferior to them in the game due to their strength. Even if the September Guild teamed up with Lu Conglomerate, they would still be unable to deal with the Nightless City Club easily…"

"Anyway, this entire situation is a little complicated. It can't be explained clearly with just a few words, so you just have to continue watching everything unravel!"

"Wow! F*ck, this is so complicated. Alright, let's not think about it too much! Let's just see what happens!"

Since these matters did not affect them, they continued watching the situation unravel before them.

Next to the flipped SUV, the Heavy Armor Warrior from the September Guild, who had stumbled out of the car, had a devasted and flustered look on his face.

After the Nightless City Club's convoy pulled over, they surrounded the Gray Bear SUV, and Mu Wu, with his sunken face, held onto his alloy sword as he approached the Heavy Armor Warrior.

It looked like he was about to be killed gruesomely.

Fortunately for him, the reinforcements from the September Guild were also coming.

Mr. X and the Lu Conglomerate's Mr. Ling got out of the car together as they shouted at Mu Wu loudly.

"Manager Mu, please stop! This is all a misunderstanding. Can you please contact Mr. Feng? Let me explain it to him first!"

"Are you acquainted with Feng?"

Mu Wu, who had kept moving forward, suddenly stopped as he turned toward Brother Ling's frantic face and Mr. X's expressionless face.

Mu Wu was not really acquainted with Mr. X, because Mr. X only arrived at Lu Conglomerate City just yesterday.

However, because Mr. X immediately took over all of the September Guild's affairs in Lu Conglomerate City, he had become the highest person in charge of the September Guild.

Therefore, although they were unacquainted, Mu Wu had some knowledge about Mr. X.

Not to mention, there was a diamond badge on his chest, which symbolized the guild's higher ranks.

However, even though Mr. X was at the top ranks of the September Guild, Mu Wu would not show him any respect.

Even when he first shouted at Mu Wu when he got out of the car, Mu Wu did not acknowledge him at all and continued to head toward the players in the damaged car.

However, when Mr. X mentioned Feng Luo's name the second time that he yelled at him, Mu Wu finally stopped in his tracks, while tightly holding onto his alloy sword.

"We have worked together before and have had some interactions!"

Mr. X, with his bitter smile, was followed by Brother Ling, who let out a sigh of relief. They walked forward and stopped in front of the angry Nightless City Club players.

"Manager Mu, can you let me talk to Mr. Feng first? This situation should have a solution that is better than a battle that will result in casualties on both sides, shouldn't it?"

Mr. X looked toward Mu Wu, as he spoke with a tone that sounded a little sincere.

However, Mu Wu's face did not change. He just stared at Mr. X, and, after a moment of silence, the alloy sword in his hands was gently lowered down.

Dong!

The Nightless City Club's players, who were marching behind him, stopped.

Although they all stopped, more than 100 players, who exited from nearly 30 vehicles, were already surrounding the damaged SUV and were discreetly forming squads of three to five members.

"Move away! Everyone, move away!"

"F*ck, do you all want to die?"

At this time, the September Guild players, who were slower in exiting from their vehicles, were in a huge mess.

Some of them were yelling at the casual players who wanted to watch the possible upcoming battle. The September Guild players carried their weapons as they tried to squeeze through the crowd of casual players that were blocking their way.

Compared to the Nightless City Club players that were gathered in a formation like a military army, the chaotic formation of the September Guild players left Mr. X frowning.

However, he did not speak. He was just waiting for Mu Wu, who was waiting to communicate with Feng Luo.

"F*ck, I thought they were fighting? Why did it turn into a negotiation? If they want to fight, they better start fighting soon. I stopped the missions I was doing in order to come and watch a good show!"

"Agreed! Are they going to fight? If you all are men, then just fight already!"

Some players were naturally annoyed. They had initially seen the two sides about to start a fight, only for things to end like this.

However, there was also a small number of players that were closer to the scene who were more interested in the "Mr. Feng" that Mr. X mentioned after hearing what he said.

Among the spectators, a Sniper in combat fatigue seemed to have thought of something as an excited expression formed on his face. He shouted loudly, "Mr. Feng? There is no way!"

He had suddenly shouted with such a loud and surprised voice that it left his Light Armor Warrior partner feeling a little confused. "F*ck, what's wrong with you? You scared me!"

"Mr. Feng! I think I already know which Mr. Feng this September Guild's high-rank member is talking about!"

The Sniper player's face was filled with excitement.

"Who is it?"

The Light Armor Warrior was also showing some interest.

"Do you remember when I told you about my new idol? His name is Feng Zhi Luoye, and he's a number one Sniper player on the trending list. He's also a member of Nightless City!"

"Feng Zhi Luoye? Isn't that Feng Zhi Luoye guildless? That is what I remember from the forums. Also, even if he were to join a guild, he would certainly join one like the Nine-Star Guild! He wouldn't join such a small guild like Nightless City Club, right?" The Light Armor warrior recalled this information as his face was filled with skepticism.

"He's a real-life Nightless City member, not a member of the virtual Nightless City Club. It's really complicated, and I'm unable to explain correctly in just this moment, but what I am saying is definitely true…"

The Sniper player's eyes were overflowing with exhilaration as he stared at Mu Wu, who was activating his communication device in the combat circle.

Although Feng Luo did not brag about himself like some of the other superstar players, nor reveal his real appearance in front of the channel, he still gained some fans. He was gaining popularity amongst the snipers.

After all, he achieved such great results amongst many elite players in two cities.

"Move away, move away!"

While Mu Wu was activating the communication device, the September Guild players were still trying to find ways to squeeze into the circle that the Nightless City players were surrounding.

Mr. X's attitude was calm as he remained low-key.

However, the average players, who were not even elite players and were only wearing bronze badges of the September Guild, were acting so high and mighty.

This was not surprising.

Although they were partnering with the Lu Conglomerate, the September Guild, by themselves, was a super large guild that surpassed the Luo Conglomerate in size.

They had over a million members, which was far greater than the number of members in the Nightless City Club.

Therefore, even though they were only average players of the September Guild, based on strength, they were enough to be elites in some other guilds.

Even though they had already received internal information that the situation had started because their team ambushed the Nightless City Club's members, they did not feel any embarrassment. Instead, most of them looked angry.

Chapter 674: Mr. X's low profile

"F*ck!"

"Why are you all squeezing in?!"

The behavior of the September Guild players naturally infuriated the Nightless City Club players.

Immediately the scene became a riot, where guns were loaded and energy converter lights were fluctuating.

"Don't mess around! Everyone! Don't be so impulsive!"

Everyone's behavior made Brother Ling so mad that the edges of his mouth were fuming.

As a senior representative of the Lu Conglomerate, he obviously did not want the two sides to really fight over this situation, especially when his personal relationship with the Nightless City people was still well.

Fortunately, Mr. X turned around and hushed a few of the loudest players in order to ease the situation a little.

However, the diffusing of the situation was only temporary. As for how this matter would develop, it would depend on the outcome of the negotiations between the two sides!

Particularly, it would be based on the attitude that the key person, Feng Luo, had.

At the center of the war circle, Mu Wu had turned on the communication device and chose to project the communication interface into the air. The projection revealed the image of Feng Luo in SUV combat attire.

However, at this moment, Feng Luo's position was not on top of the cliff.

Instead, the Wings of Death, which would look more conspicuous in his hands, was hidden in a place within the forest. It was in an area that they would be unable to find.

Since the projection only showed a limited amount of his background, the September Guild players were unable to find his exact position.

However, whether it was Mr. X or Mu Wu, they both knew that the position Feng Luo was at was definitely a position that would enable him to attack this area.

"Mr. Feng, I haven't seen you in a long time!" Mr. X had a wry smile on his face as he greeted Feng Luo.

"Mr. X!" Feng Luo nodded as his expression did not change.

"Regarding this matter… Can I talk to you privately?" Mr. X hesitated a little when he spoke out loud. He then hinted at the surrounding curious players who were waiting to watch a battle occur.

"No, let's just talk about it here!" Feng Luo had a look of disdain as he immediately shook his head.

"Mr. Feng, you are putting me in a difficult position." Mr. X's face changed slightly as he stared at Feng Luo's eyes on the screen.

Feng Luo simply did not speak. He stared back with dull eyes.

"Well, alright."

The two men stared at each other for less than a second as Mr. X finally compromised with a bitter smile.

"Well, then I'll just say it out loud. Can we end this here and now? I would like to offer you sufficient compensation on behalf of the September Guild for each of the six people who died from the Nightless City Club, and I will also make all of the people who participated in the attack to apologize to you guys. Everyone is living in the same city, why would we need to fight to this extreme?"

As a senior executive of the September Guild, and also as one of the founders of the former Nine Star Guild, Mr. X's attitude was surprisingly low-key. It was completely different from those seemingly high and mighty September Guild average players behind him.

Amongst those who were present, perhaps only Feng Luo could understand the reason behind Mr. X's low profile.

There were only a few people who really knew the inside story behind Invikill being the first person who awakened the Force.

Although both sides signed a contract to request Feng Luo not to reveal the matter regarding Invikill, and despite the contract being signed in the game, there was also a legal effect in reality.

However, if Feng Luo was really determined to reveal this matter, then naturally he would do so.

Mr. X did not want this to happen because once it was revealed, the matter regarding Invikill would have a significant impact on the September Guild's reputation.

Additionally, there was another reason for Mr. X's low profile, but it was due to a personal matter. During their last conversation, Mr. X had promised he would warn September Night Rain not to make an enemy out of Feng Luo.

However, what happened today really cost him his reputation in keeping promises.

However, because the premise of the last promise was that Feng Luo would join the September Guild, and since Feng Luo did not agree to join the guild, Mr. X technically did not go back on his promise.

"No!"

"No!"

However, this low-profile proposal by Mr. X was still declined.

Of the two responses, one was from the projection of Feng Luo, and the other was from the sunken face of Mu Wu.

Both of their answers were said without hesitation.

"F*ck, what do you guys mean? Who do you think you are? Not wanting to give respect…"

It was not Mr. X who was talking.

Instead, on a tall SUV at the edge of the war circle, with a six-barrel machine gun in hand, there was a September Guild Machine Gunner with an elite badge on his chest.

Mr. X was calm, but the September Guild player looked shameless.

To see Mr. X repeatedly lower his own stance, the September Guild players had already expressed dissatisfaction. However, because Mr. X was in charge, barely anyone interrupted.

It was not until both Feng Luo and Mu Wu unhesitatingly rejected his suggestion that someone could not bear to stay silent anymore. However, just when the Machine Gunner was continuing to talk, he was silenced.

"Shut up!"

Mr. X had a cold and angry face, and his expression stunned the Machine Gunner player for a moment.

However, soon after, the Machine Gunner's face also changed completely.

After all, it was only a game, and although he was a part of the September Guild, he was not really Mr. X's "subordinate."

However, even though his face changed, the Machine Gunner really stopped talking.

Playing as a Machine Gunner was expensive, and all his equipment and ammunition relied upon the September Guild's sponsorship.

If he were to disregard everything and go against Mr. X, then the final consequence would be for him to be kicked out of the September Guild.

However, he obviously did not want to lose the status as an elite September Guild player, plus the superior status as the guild Machine Gunner!

Therefore, after this elite player stopped talking, another voice spoke out.

"Why do you want him to stop talking? I thought that Ahai was right about this!"

A jeep-like heavy-duty convertible energy vehicle, which had just arrived, had a tall and mighty Heavy Armor Warrior with a golden guild badge on his chest.

"If we settle the matters this way, we will become laughing stocks. If we really settled it in this manner, then it would let people feel that September Guild could be easily bullied."

Removing a super heavy black shield from the jeep, the Heavy Armor Warrior, with a shameless and disdained expression, stared at Feng Luo's image on the communication device.

"Paco!"

"Hello, Paco!"

"Paco, you're here too."

"Paco, you're finally here!"

There was a commotion among the average players of the September Guild as many immediately greeted this player with excitement.

"Paco? Judging by the badge, he must be a core player of the September Guild."

"This guy is not bad, although he is a little arrogant. He seems to be more like the high ranks of the September Guild compared to that middle-aged man. That middle-aged man is too soft! September Guild is one of the top ten guilds. So Mr. X should not be so courteous."

"Can it be that these two people are purposely going against each other?"

There was a burst of discussion among the players watching the scene.

They were a little confused about the attitude Mr. X displayed before.

With a large guild like the September Guild, they usually handled things with great pride. Even if they were not tyrants, they should still maintain their dignity. So, why do they look like complete pushovers on this matter?

In particular, Mr. X, during his conversation with the Sniper on the communication device, revealed a fearful stance, and had even wanted to apologize to the Sniper in the projection.

However, this attitude from this high-ranking September Guild member was not what they wanted to see.

If they did not fight, then what was there to see? What were they all waiting around for then?

Fortunately, now there was the sudden appearance of Paco. His appearance was something that they all wanted to see.

"Paco?! It's actually 'The Paco!'"

"Paco is one of the top ten players from the first batch of Stormwind City! He was nicknamed 'Overlord.' It was only later that he changed his style and joined the September Guild in a management role. However, his potential did not disappear at all, and he is not inferior to any top players!"

Some of the others were able to recognize him as "Overlord" almost immediately.

Things had become more interesting.

Chapter 675: High Profile Feng Luo

Things were indeed becoming more interesting.

After Mr. X, being the one in charge of the September Guild of Lu Conglomerate City, expressed his stance. Paco, who was his subordinate, voiced his objection publicly.

After the arrival of Paco and his speech, the average players of September Guild were all responding enthusiastically, which was a huge contrast from how they were responding to Mr. X before.

Obviously, Mr. X, who had just landed in Lu Conglomerate City only a day before, had not completely established his authority.

Mr. X was able to scold the Machine Gunner from before, but he could only coldly frown at the Heavy Armor Warrior, who has now interrupted him.

In the projection, after hearing Paco speak, Feng Luo only turned coldly towards Mr. X and asked, "Mr. X, is it you or him who will represent the September Guild when talking?"

"Mr. Feng, Mr. X is the president of the Lu Conglomerate of the September Guild. He is fully responsible for all the matters in the September Guild!"

Brother Ling had decided to speak up. He did not wish for things to break into a fight. Therefore, he only scolded Paco internally as he frantically explained.

He did not have time to consider if his words would offend Paco.

"In that case, it's best for people who don't qualify as leaders to shut their mouths. You know, the gun in my hand dislikes people interrupting me when I am talking," Feng Luo said with a dull tone.

He still set his sights on Mr. X, who was frowning and not talking at all, and did not bother to look at Paco for even a second.

However, what he said, undoubtedly, stirred up an uproar in the surroundings.

"Wow! F*ck, this guy sounds like an idiot!"

"He's really acting big!"

"This is a joke! Did he actually dare to talk to Paco like that? A Sniper, even one as impressive as Invikill with the Legendary Sniper Rifle, would not dare to talk like this. No matter how powerful a Sniper is, he shouldn't be able to kill an Elite Heavy Armor Warrior with a shield, should he?"

After the spectating players were stunned for a period of time, most of them revealed strange looks.

As for the September Guild players, most of them were mocking while spewing sarcasm.

Even Mu Wu had a look of astonishment because Feng Luo had been calm most of the time. He had always treated several matters with indifference, and it was rare that he would reveal such a sturdy attitude like just now.

With his understanding of Feng Luo, this meant that his mood was super unhappy.

Of course, out of all the people present, it was probably only he who would completely not doubt the validity of his statement.

The reason was very simple. Although they did not speak previously, by the time he personally arrived at the battlefield to see the September Guild players, they all had been chased away and were all stuck in a flipped SUV on the ground. He had realized that he had underestimated this partner of his.

The players from the September Guild were all killed off by Feng Luo alone, and the remaining people were left embarrassed. Even the Heavy Armor Warrior, who had exited the damaged vehicle earlier, could only hide behind the SUV and would not dare to reveal his face.

The players in the flipped SUV were filled with embarrassment because Feng Luo was able to counter-attack them after their ambush failed. He was even able to survive the attacks from a top elite player like September Night Rain.

This definitely showed that the strength of Feng Luo was stronger than he had imagined.

"Oh d*mn, so domineering! No wonder he is 'The Great Luoye!'"

Besides them, the Sniper, who was Feng Luo's fan, had an even more intense expression as his face was red from pure excitement.

He was 100 percent certain that this sniper on the communication screen was Feng Zhi Luoye.

As a fan, he would definitely be on the same side as his idol.

However, the Light Armor Warrior beside him said, with a doubtful tone, "You would think that he sounds domineering, but I keep thinking that he is bullsh*tting. No matter how strong a sniper is, he would be unable to kill this Heavy Armor Warrior named Paco, right? At most, they will be unable to kill each other and turn it into a draw? He is too full of himself!"

As a warrior, his heart was still biased towards the Heavy Armor Warrior since they were from the same profession branch.

"Well, that's it!"

"Paco had already said it out loud. You better not admit defeat!"

"Not bad, if it were me, I would immediately start a fight myself!"

The players who were a little bias towards either side only wanted to watch a fight happen, So they started to cheer and stir more loudly.

They were bent on watching a fight and had become disappointed with the lack of one. Therefore, they were starting to become impatient.

Some even deliberately opened their mouths to try to stir up the temper of Paco.

However, unexpectedly, Paco, who was initially aggravated, did not rage after hearing Feng Luo's statement. Instead, he suddenly smiled as he inadvertently placed his heavy black shield in front of him and said, "What a daring statement. Feng Zhi Luoye, I have known that you were a super low-profile player. Even after you became popular, there was still little information in the forums about you. However, now I have discovered that rumors are not totally trustworthy!"

Of course, some more observant people were still able to see that there was still a little anger in Paco's smile.

"What? Feng Zhi Luoye!"

"This Sniper is Feng Zhi Luoye!"

"Is that the one with a Boss chip in his hands? The second to awaken the Force? The Feng Zhi Luoye, who is number one on the 'hot' list?"

At this point, however, most people's attention was not on him anymore.

Due to the information revealed by Paco, everyone could not help but immediately turn their heads to look at Feng Luo on the projection screen.

The expression on one face after another, whether they were disdained, sneering or curious, had all been filled with shock and suspicion.

"Yeah, I seem to remember that someone on the forum said that Feng Zhi Luoye appeared to have an important relationship with the Nightless City Club."

Some players thought of a piece of information picked up from a post on the forum.

"Didn't the people of the September Guild call this Sniper 'Mr. Feng' as well? It looks like it's really him!"

With Paco's statements combined with how Mr. X addressed him, there was no doubt about the identity of Feng Luo.

"Wow! F*ck, this is starting to become more interesting!"

"This is going to be a battle between superstar players? I just wanted to watch a fight. I did not expect that this was going to be so intense…"

The spectating players shared their thoughts through conversations with one another.

Of course, by contrast, many of the September Guild players, who were originally shouting and laughing, now glared and looked a little disgusted by how everything was playing out.

Then, the players looked toward their "Paco."

"Feng Zhi Luoye, I'll admit, some of my friends who were involved in the pet chips ruins wastelands said your strength was very strong! However, the September Guild players are not like those clowns of the Anti-RDMG Alliance. No matter how strong you are, it's impossible to defeat over a hundred players, right?"

It was evident that the Overlord knew a lot about Feng Luo. He even knew about the affairs regarding the Anti-RDMG Alliance.

Moreover, when he said this, his eyes were eagerly watching the September Guild players who had been gradually arriving and gradually surrounding the Nightless City Club players in the middle.

At this time, the number of people wearing the September Guild badge on their chests had exceeded the number of Nightless City Club members by over a hundred people.

"More than a hundred people?!"

On the screen, Feng Luo finally looked straight at Paco.

"A bunch of players, who only knew how to ambush a smaller group, are now too afraid to step out of a flipped SUV. Even if there are a hundred them, what's the use? I am able to kill more than a dozen of them in a minute. I can kill more than a hundred of you in ten minutes, including you. So, you can try to fight me!"

However, Paco still smiled at him with an intense stare.

Feng Luo's eyes swept over him coldly and passed over all the September Guild players behind him!

The words he just said, once again, caused an uproar!

Chapter 676: Pets? Are they needed?

Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

This time, Feng Luo's words caused a huge uproar.

After listening to Paco's words and knowing Feng Luo's identity, most of the September Guild players' faces were showing some fear.

This was very natural because there were a lot of players from the North City and the rebel camp expressing their views on the forum.

Those views indicated that the "Feng Zhi Luoye," who they met on the mission, had an incredible and intimidating attack that was powerful. His attack would even cause people with full rare equipment to be unable to get one shot at him.

Furthermore, on screen, Feng Luo held the suspected "Legendary" sniper gun in his hands, which was obviously leaned forward at an angle toward his enemies. The gunners and the manipulators, who were more vulnerable, definitely felt like the gun's muzzle was an eye that was staring right at them.

At the same time, many also recalled the words Feng Luo said to them just before.

It seemed like he was not completely bragging. This Sniper really had the capability to kill people instantly.

However, although he should be feared a little, there were so many players in the September Guild.

Over hundreds of players gathered together, so he must be really daring.

After all, one person's strength is limited. Whether a top player is strong or not, they could still be defeated by a large group of players.

Additionally, some players felt that although Feng Luo was not completely bullsh*tting, he definitely had some elements of bluffing in his statements.

According to the forum, this Feng Zhi Luoye was able to easily and instantly kill the vulnerable classes of players, but was he able to kill the warrior players instantly?

They thought that no matter how strong a Sniper is, he had no means of killing these elite Heavy Armor Warriors.

Initially, they thought that the statement Feng Luo made was already quite insane. However, they did not anticipate that the previous statement would be even more insane than the first one.

"I'm not hearing wrong, am I? Ten people a minute, a hundred in ten minutes, including Paco?"

"Is he declaring that he is able to win against a hundred by himself? Does he understand this concept?! Does he even understand the words that are coming out of his mouth?"

The September Guild players spoke sarcastically, with their faces switching from fear to mockery.

Although, the possibility that a Sniper could instantly kill anyone was intimidating because then the Sniper could kill off the crucial players from a team!

However, in a situation where one Sniper went up against a hundred players, it would be impossible for the Sniper to survive.

The September Guild was not without top Snipers. However, even Invikill, as the "first" to awaken the Force, did not dare to utter the type of words that Feng Luo had.

Amongst the September Guild, it was heard that Invikill was only able to defeat up to ten September Guild players under the conditions of Arena PK due to his ability of Invisibility.

Even though Invikill's Invisibility ability was strong and useful, its consumption of the Force was extremely massive, so he could not stay invisible long enough to attack.

Furthermore, due to the low health points a Sniper has, he would be doomed once he was discovered. It was almost impossible to escape from the Light Armor Warriors, who would move closer toward their target so they would have the advantage of close-range combat.

Of course, there was an absolute difference between that kind of legal PK and a massive team fight. No matter how strong the Sniper is, he can only instant kill ten-plus people in a team fight, right?

As long as the Scouts discover the Sniper's location, it would not matter if the Sniper had awakened the Force or could instantly kill people. Once a few warriors charge forward, it would only be a matter of seconds before this "hot" player was killed.

"I think it's the sudden fame size from the projection that expanded the bravery in his heart!"

"Hey, he's got luck this time! Sure, he was victorious over Invikill, but does he really think that he is the best sniper in War?"

1

Amongst the September Guild players, there was a burst of cynicism.

"However, what did he mean by that previous statement?"

Of course, there were some players who noticed the previous statement that Feng Luo had said.

"'A group of people who only knew how to ambush a small group were now too afraid to leave the SUV.' Does that mean that this flipped SUV still has players inside? Now, are those players too scared to reveal themselves?"

"Yeah, didn't the news before state that the September Guild players had ambushed the Nightless City Club? However, looking at it from this position, it appears that the September Guild players were forced to run away, which resulted in their SUV crashing…"

"Killing ten-plus people within a minute. Does he mean that he was chasing the September Guild players who ambushed him from before? As a result, he killed more than ten of them, which is why the remaining players have not dared to leave the flipped SUV?"

The non-September Guild players speculated over what happened and talked with one another about what they think transpired.

Of course, in this case, many people began to look toward the flipped SUV.

They saw a Heavy Armor Warrior with a pale green face sitting outside of the SUV, but they were unable to see if there was anyone inside the vehicle.

"Oh. In the end, you are more of a high-profile player than I thought you would be. However, with the strength of your pet, it would probably be possible for you to triumph over a few dozen people…"

In contrast, Paco, who was staring at Feng Luo, had a surprising reaction as his face revealed a "smile" yet again.

Also, the words he said made the September Guild players fall silent.

Paco's words made them wake up a little.

The words of Feng Luo were indeed insane. However, their mockery was lacking a point.

Current players do not just fight alone. They also have pets.

Other people's pets were just mediocre, but the pet of Feng Zhi Luoye was frightening.

Anyone who has seen the video on the forums would know that his pet, 24K, was not comparable to an average pet.

24K was able to summon wild monsters to aid Feng Luo during combat, including elite-level monsters with strong combat strength. After some analysis, some players thought that 24K was definitely a Boss Grade pet.

With the protection from his pet, the idea of sending some Light Armor Warriors to cut away at him was not feasible anymore. Furthermore, with the insanely fast attack of Feng Zhi Luoye, he would be able to constantly instant kill vulnerable classes on the battlefield.

Although he might not really be able to challenge a hundred of these September Guild players, it would not be impossible for him to kill a few dozen players during the fight.

"Yeah, I actually forgot your pet!"

"Feng Zhi Luoye's pet, based on the forum video, looked very powerful. It can directly summon a bunch of elite monsters. In this case, even if the September Guild players discover his location, it will be challenging to kill him. The September Guild is really in huge trouble!"

"Not really. His pet is awesome, but don't forget that the September Guild players also have pets. Can his pet also fight a hundred enemies on its own?"

"Moreover, he certainly can not kill defensive pets that have a high HP with serious damage within seconds if he is busy fighting players."

There were some players who shook their heads, indicating that they thought of an issue.

"His pet is obviously the summoner type. So, the wild monsters it summons will remain loyal to him. They will help him in his fight."

"Each average player's pet is different. In this kind of battle, the pet mortality rate is very high. Furthermore, even if a pet has a high HP, Feng Luo would just need to instantly kill the player who is the owner of the pet."

"Also, don't forget, he is not the only person in this fight. There are a lot of people from the Nightless City Club here to back him up. So, the players from the September Guild are definitely not at an advantage!"

The spectating players analyzed the situation and argued over what would happen during the battle.

However, what Feng Luo said after, got everyone's attention again.

"Pets, are they necessary?"

Considering what Paco said, which seemed to be a compliment with an underlying meaning, Feng Luo's answer was once again a cold and "frivolous" statement.

Chapter 677: I remember, I have said it before!

"Ha, Brother Feng is awesome!"

"Yes! Against you guys who only know how to ambush, do we still need help from our pets?"

After the statement that Feng Luo made, it attracted another uproar from the September Guild players.

However, the players from Nightless City were all cheering.

The Nightless City people did not just consist of workers from the real-life Nightless City.

To be precise, the Nightless City workers only occupied a small part of the club. Most of them were players who were recruited by Mu Wu.

Since Feng Luo did not have many relations with Nightless City people in the game, a good portion of them had never really interacted with him either.

When Feng Luo's reputation skyrocketed, the people from Nightless City believed he was like a "god."

These few statements that Feng Luo made might have sounded extremely insane to outsiders, but it made the people on his side feel relieved.

Since the last clash between the people from the September Guild and Nightless City, there had been a lot of tension rising between both sides these past few days.

The people of Nightless City had felt like they were at such a huge disadvantage because the September Guild was large.

Furthermore, it seemed as if the Lu Conglomerate was more biased toward the September Guild, and this angered the people of Nightless City.

Therefore, Feng Luo's words had given them a strong sense of relief.

Paco's face had lost all signs of composure as he lifted the heavy alloy shield and aggressively placed it vertically in front of him. His voice revealed anger as he said, "Mr. Feng is definitely confident in himself. However, sometimes too much self-confidence might be mistaken for arrogance. Do you really think that by defeating Lin Ye and Zhang Zheng, you can really underestimate all of the people in the September Guild?"

Mr. X, who was standing beside Paco and had remained silent, had suddenly turned and frowned towards him.

However, in the flipped SUV, September Night Rain, who was a little frustrated and depressed, suddenly sat up as he looked at Paco through the window with a pale face.

As for the September Guild players, they were all astonished.

"What do his words mean? Why are the September Guild players having such an intense reaction? Does this mean that Lin Ye and Zhang Zheng are very famous? "

Among the spectators, some who did not understand the details of the situation were completely confused.

"What, are you all from another planet server? How can you not know these two people?"

"Zhang Zheng is the real name of Invikill, and Lin Ye is September Night Rain! These two people are the new and the old top dogs of the September Guild, the number one experts…"

"I know Feng Zhi Luo Ye was victorious over Invikill, but since when had September Night Rain been defeated by Feng Zhi Luo Ye?"

Some players who came from Stormwind City were a little confused as well.

"September Night Rain. Isn't he the star player who beat Brother Lang two days ago? He apparently has also been defeated by this Feng Zhi Luoye?"

"Well, if that is true, then our top player in the Lu Conglomerate is inferior to a player from the Nightless Club?"

The players, who had been neglected at the headquarters of the Lu Conglomerate, suddenly thought that the number one player in the September Guild was not impressive.

At this time, the eyes of Feng Luo in the communication device's projection suddenly turned dull again.

Did they turn dull because of what Paco said?

A Cerebrate had destroyed 24K during his last mission, so Feng Luo was a little agitated by Paco for bringing up his fallen pet. However, suddenly he felt that there was no reason to be agitated.

Yes, there was no reason indeed.

He realized that the tall and burly-looking, uncouth Heavy Armor Warrior actually had an ulterior motive in every one of his statements. He had brought up September Night Rain, who was still hiding in the SUV, and Invikill, who had no relations toward this matter. His ulterior motive was to make Feng Luo lose his cool and focus. At least, this seemed to be what Paco was doing.

Therefore, Feng Luo had lost all interest while talking to this Heavy Armor Warrior.

September Night Rain had already lost reputation points before. Therefore, no matter what he does in this situation, it was not looking good for him. Negative information would go up about him again on the forums, which he wouldn't be able to control. Then, his popularity would no doubt fall again!

Invikill's popularity had taken a hit the last few days as well. This was due to his pet chip ruins performance being too average. Therefore, his reputation suffered some damage. As a result, his title as "the first Sniper in War" was called a fluke.

With such a massive guild like the September Guild, it was not surprising that Paco would want to bring up their top players, even if there was bad news circulating about them.

Feng Luo suddenly turned and told Mu Wu, "Old Wu, I have nothing else to say. Regarding how to settle these matters, you have full rights to decide! However, the players in the SUV must return the mission items that they stole from us. Or else…"

Feng Luo did not continue.

Following that, he turned toward Paco, who was initially raging but had now felt a little gloomy due to Feng Luo blowing him off.

"I remember I said that the gun in my hand does not like people interrupting me!"

On the screen of the communication device, Feng Luo's face was completely dull, but the Wings of Death in his hand adjusted its angle in front of everyone's view.

"Yes!"

Paco's face changed.

His body immediately shrank as he hid his whole body behind the black alloy shield that had been erected in front of him.

"Oh?" After the alloy shield covered his entire body, Paco leaned against the inside of the shield. His face was pale as the edges of his mouth lifted rather suddenly as he asked, "Are you finally attacking because you can't hold back anymore?"

Paco was not panicking internally at all. Even though the shield in his hand was not a piece of legendary equipment, its defense coefficient was B-Grade, and its thickness was more than two-thirds of an ordinary alloy shield made of the best quality.

During an experiment that was intended to test the strength of this shield, a Sniper with a full set of equipment once used B-Grade bullets to continuously shoot at the same spot five times before he was able to pierce through it.

Although the defense on his shield was inferior to the light Legendary Grade shields in the forums, it was still quite strong.

Even though Feng Luo was predicted to be in possession of a legendary sniper rifle, Paco's shield should not break so easily against it.

Besides, even if the sniper rifle was able to break through his shield, and even if it was done with one shot, what would be the use?

After the bullet pierces through the alloy shield, its power and velocity would be reduced significantly. Therefore, even if it was supposed to be a fatal hit, it would be impossible for the bullet to cause too much damage.

Furthermore, the alloy shield was so big that the destruction area the bullets could cause was only up to a radius of ten centimeters.

For this expert Heavy Armor Warrior, who specialized in PK, he was completely able to protect his fatal spots by himself while in combat.

A sole attacking Sniper had no way to destroy the armor of a Heavy Armor Warrior completely. This was why the Heavy Armor Warriors usually blocked Snipers' attacks.

"Also, Feng Zhi Luoye, maybe you feel as if you have figured me out. However, you do not know if all of this was a part of my plan. Perhaps you shooting at me is a part of my plan, perhaps it is not. I'll allow you, the currently top person in the popularity list, to help me increase my popularity!"

Behind the shield, Paco's face had a delightful smile.

Bang!

After Paco hid behind the alloy shield, a bullet, shot from a distant forest, flew toward him after a few milliseconds.

A pitch-black sniper bullet hit the equally black thick alloy shield.

Afterward, it pierced through the shield.

Chink!

[-1320 HP.]

[-6746 HP.]

Behind the black shield, above the head of Paco, two bright red damage numbers appeared in succession.

The two hits from the Double Armor-Piercing Bullets had hit his head and had directly caused him to lose around eight thousand of his HP.

"What… how is this possible?!"

Behind the shield, Paco's smiling face was instantly filled with astonishment. His health points dropped to two-thirds of its initial health. This was something that he had not expected.

"A skill from his legendary equipment? Or did the hounds send us the wrong message? The attack of Feng Zhi Luoye, and the destructive power of his gun, was significantly higher than what they had determined!"

Paco felt that something was not right, but at this moment, he did not have any plans. He just wanted to escape after lifting up his shield.

Although the sniper rifle bullet had failed to penetrate his brain, he was still suffering from the impact the bullet had on his head. It had caused him to feel dizzy.

Furthermore, the caliber on the Wings of Death was 14.5 mm!

"Paco… Paco…"

As for the players of the September Guild, they were all shocked to see Feng Luo suddenly shoot.

Then afterward, when they saw that Paco was the one who had been shot, they were relieved. Some of them even started to mock him since he had talked a big game.

However, afterward, when they waited for the appearance of the damage value above Paco's head, they were all rooted in place. When they saw that there was something wrong with Paco and wanted to help, they were too late.

Bang!

The second equally pitch-black bullet was shot from a position near the forest. This round was also aimed at the alloy shield.

[-1230 HP.]

[-12056 HP.]

Paco's face was filled with disbelief.

There was a new red damage value number above his head, and his body was radiating a white light that was familiar to everyone. It was the white light of death.

His health points of more than twenty thousand, which was shielded by a high-grade alloy shield with a defense coefficient that was comparable to Legendary Grade equipment, was emptied after two shots from his opponent?

"This… How can this be?"

It was not only Paco who was repeating the word "impossible."

Many players were stunned by the red numbers, which looked like fresh blood, that appeared above Paco's head.

Particularly the damage from the second bullet, with a value that was five digits long, really made all spectating players, as well as the players from the three guilds, reveal a sense of disbelief from what they had just witnessed. Some players were still unsure of what they even saw. They could not make sense of what just happened.

One bullet passed through the broken shield, the broken armor, and the defense coefficient of the Heavy Armor Warrior himself.

The gunshot could cause fatal damage that was five digits long?! Were they perhaps just seeing things?

Poof!

Paco's body had been filled with the white light of death.

Paco's corpse, which had been lifted upward from the white light, fell back onto the ground. The black alloy shield that fell away from his hands slammed heavily onto the ground.

After those two shots, the projection of the communication device also slowly disappeared from the sky.

Chapter 678: The Ending Isn't Satisfying!

"Paco… Paco…"

Paco died too suddenly, some September Guild players did not even react from their initial mockery about Feng Luo trying ways to kill a heavily armored warrior.

Paco just fell onto the ground, as a pile of medicine, crystals, and equipment burst out.

This had led to a mess in the reactions of the September Guild people.

Some people shouted loudly after they regained their consciousness, some frantically went over to help Paco pick up the rare equipment that had burst out.

"Ah, f*ck!"

There were also some people who reactively raised their weapons and protection, some ran and hid behind the SUV while making a combat stance.

And the people from the Nightless City Club, after being stunned for a while, also immediately reacted.

There was no hesitation. At this moment, once someone started the attack, then what continued would only be an outburst of a team fight. This would be a messy fight, implicating four hundred people from both sides.

"All better stop, those who don't listen, would have their guild membership canceled!"

However, at this moment., Mr. X, who was silent and forgotten by others after the appearance of Paco, immediately stood out and loudly stopped the two September Guild players who were going to attack.

"Don't start fighting! Stop starting fights, everyone exercise a little control… Ah Wu, you guys quickly split up the people from both sides!"

At the same time, there was noticeable sweat coming from Brother Ling's forehead.

On one hand, he was complaining internally about Feng Luo suddenly killing someone. On the other hand, he also frantically stood out and screamed to command Lu Conglomerate's players who were behind him.

In any case, he really did not want the two sides to fight.

Although he was a little overlooked before, this was still the home ground of Lu Conglomerate.

The number of people, whether they were from Nightless City Club or September Guild, was still lower than the number of people from Lu Conglomerate.

Therefore, under the command of the frantically sweating Brother Ling, all the players of the Lu Conglomerate entered and split up the battlefield.

"Manager Mu, I think that no matter how this matter is settled, there will definitely not be any benefits for both parties if they really decide to fight it out, so I hope you can seriously think through about this!"

At the same time, Mr.X turned his head and looked at Mu Wu who was still in his original position.

At this time, his serious and solemn face had no signs of his frowning expression when he was interrupted by Paco previously.

Plus, if you observe closely, you can discover that after the start of the fight between Paco and Feng Luo, Mr. X had completely retracted his sights on Paco.

Even when Paco died, he did not look at Paco at all but instead had already set his sights on those September Guild players who were about to start trouble, hence he was able to stand out and control the situation immediately.

If Paco, who was kicked out from the game, were to see this situation, he might have a realization in his mind: that in this game, he was not the only one who was smart.

"…"

Facing Mr.X's strict face, Mu Wu stayed silent for a while, and afterward, he chose to stand out and commanded the Nightless City players to stop for a while.

And the September Guild X players, too, were held down by Mr. X's strict expression.

Even those people who were the jumpiest did not really stand out to object.

Amongst the reasons why, there was the reason of Paco's corpse which was still lying on the ground and had not disappeared.

That sniper in that area of the jungle, perhaps he did not have the capabilities to kill off the two hundred September Guild players who were gathered.

But he was absolutely capable of killing players who dare to take the lead.

Hence, the clash between the guilds suddenly turned a little anticlimactic.

After Brother Ling mediated the situation, the way of confrontation between the two sides.

From what should have been a messy clash between these hundreds of people, plus the addition of the members who just arrived to the battlefield.

The number gap was just too large, so although there was a super expert like Feng Zhi Luoye, the Nightless City Club army should be totally destroyed after killing a huge number of September Guild players.

But because of anger, the Nightless City Club would sound in the forums for September Guild to die…

Then Feng Zhi Luoye, with his powerful individual capabilities that he used to continuously kill off the September Guild high-level members, disrupted the September Guild's mission, forcing the September Guild to issue a wanted notice, or send people to follow up on this super exciting plot…

Turned into a verbal negotiation, that disappointed the audience, between a few of the top-ranking members of the two guilds, which they could not hear at all.

Although, after negotiations, in that SUV which made everyone extremely curious.

The gunner with a totally pale face with the two manipulators took out the box with the "brain worm", and placed it onto the hands of the president of the Nightless City Club.

However, the show that they were waiting for in such a long time, was just like this.

Oh, it was really not enough.

Under the flamboyant lights and with alcohol.

The Nightless City building, standing at thousands of square meters with ten floors, with each floor being filled with noise.

"Brother Feng!"

"Brother Feng!"

From the moment Feng Luo entered, the greetings had not stopped.

The guest greeter, bartender, waiter, DJ… Each Nightless City member had faces full of excitement, but also some respect for Feng Luo.

"Manager Feng, impressive!"

Even some customers, apparently learning some details from the Nightless City players, put up their thumbs as Feng Luo walked past.

Even some female customers' eyes sparkled, some who were mature even winked flirtatiously, there were even more hot younger ones who wanted to charge forward.

However, they stopped my Mu Zi who just rushed over.

"Brother Feng, you're too good, to be able to insta-kill a top armored warrior in two shots. And in the end, even causing September Night Rain to be so frightened that he committed suicide. I really regret dying too early and being unable to see that scene!"

Compared to the rest of the people, upon seeing Feng Luo offline.

Mu Zi's expression was even more exciting, and also looked a little vexed.

However, it seemed that her mood was obviously very good, and did not look disappointed after dropping grades after being ambushed.

"Yeah, Brother Feng! "

"September Night Rain had just defeated Sha Lang who just obtained the hidden profession which had been blown up by the September Guild, to become the top player of the Lu Conglomerate. As a result, under the circumstances of this top player, bringing along people to ambush, were killed by Brother Feng, you killed off ten-plus people from their group, and in the end, he was chased until he was so embarrassed that he committed suicide, the September Guild people's faces were all so pale!"

"And that Paco, Brother Feng, you have no idea how that guy is usually so cocky on a daily basis, in the end, haha, it's too satisfying…"

The must-have security members who were following Mu Zi were also carrying excited smiles on their faces.

It was not clear to the Nightless City Club players who exactly were the people of the September guild that ambushed.

That was because, during the ambush, Mu Zi and the rest were all insta-killed quickly, plus that extremely messy situation, they only knew the enemy was the September Guild but they were not clear who the enemy exactly was.

Moreover, September Night Rain was only in Lu Conglomerate for a few days, even Rose Thorns who saw him clearly in person, was unable to recognize his identity.

As for Feng Luo who could tell it was the September Night Rain, but he only told the news to Mu Wu, but Mu Wu did not seem to announce it immediately.

Therefore, amongst the September Guild members who were chased down until their SUV was flipped by Feng Luo after the ambush.

They only knew September Night Rain, who was blown up as the top player, was amongst these members afterward, which completely touched the G spot for each of these Nightless Club players.

Even this news made the September Guild people unable to believe.

Because, considering the impact of the matter, Mr.X actually locked down the news at first, the normal guild members did not know that September Night Rain and Sun Shao participated.

And when they waited till Mu Wu pointed out coldly about the members who participated, it naturally attracted the uproar amongst the September Guild members.

However, what was strange was this.

In the minds of some people in the September Guild, after being surprised by the news, they suddenly thought that it was actually not that strange as well.

After all, even Paco, such a top-notch heavy armored warrior, was also killed by Feng Luo Zhiye in two shots. Even if September Night Rain had been the top master of the former guild, under such ridiculous attack, he should not have any odds of winning…

Although a dozen people were beaten by one person and had to escape, which was a bit shameful for the top-notch players like September Night Rain, would he rather stay behind and get insta-killed?

However, September Night Rain was still very decisive.

After the death of Paco, he immediately chose to commit suicide directly with a sunken face; the body had even disappeared before the SUV was dismantled by the angry Nightless players. To a certain extent, he retained his shame, but this also gave more room to the September Guild Public Relations Team to work with.

But this maneuvering space was also limited, because after the matter ended.

On the forums in the Stormwind City, an article entitled "Insta-killing heavy armored warrior, the furious Feng Zhi Luoye was so terrifying!" quickly rose up to the top of the popularity chart.

The post was apparently posted by the spectating players, which included many pictures and videos from the scene.

And not only there was a full narrative of the incident within the post this time, but also the start till the end process of the clash between the two guilds, and also from what Paco said, the deep analysis of the occurrence of September Night Rain being defeated by Feng Luo.

Finally, it was concluded that the person in the original basic agent transfer mission which caused all the equipment of September Night Rain to burst out, was definitely Feng Zhi Luoye who now was having a stealth profession as his "agent".

And September Night Rain, involving himself in this matter, was probably to vent anger and revenge.

Of course, the result was that he had become a clown yet again.

This was a somewhat exaggerated title, and under the circumstances of Feng Luo being at the top of the search list.

In less than two hours, it had gotten a lot of attention, until the system update, the number of hits had broken out till tens of millions.

And the result from that was that after the natural exit from the game by September Night Rain, he threw around large amounts of items in his own mansion.

In addition, in just two hours, the number of fans in his group had decreased by more than a quarter.

As for the post which simply casually mentioned the supporting role "Paco" for a bit, this overly-confident top ten masters of the Stormwind City also got much attention, which was what he wished for.

Although, these attentions were mostly mockery and sarcasm.

Chapter 679: Reality, Flying Knife Game!

"Piak!"

A robust, clenched fist wearing boxing gloves punched into the chest of that test simulated human, which was made from memory material.

"1334!"

The force gauge on the floating virtual screen directly jumped to a number that was exceeding 1300.

Such a number exceeding 1300 points of Standard Impact Force, indicated that the power of this punch was three times that of a normal person.

"Sure enough, my strength has increased again!"

In the sports club on the fifth floor of the Nightless City Building, within the all-around VIP class sports cabin, Feng Luo used some of his fingers to ease his fist, which was numb from that punch.

This time, his strength test results have improved compared to the 1000-point Standard Impact Force in his last test.

In fact, it was not only strength. It should be said that for his entire physical fitness, his test results were on another tier as compared to a normal person.

Regardless of whether it was strength, speed, muscle density, or bone hardness, all of them had a significant increase.

Otherwise, the back force of this punch might have hurt his own arm.

However, in the test, the biggest increase was not these "hardware" type physical attributes.

"Starting flying knife dodge game, environment set: Level 2 dark night, difficulty set: advanced!"

Feng Luo removed his boxing gloves, then reached out to the hoverboard beside him and operated a little and then said the above statements.

After his voice fell, the environment in the half-basketball-sized indoor VIP sports cabin suddenly turned into a dark night with low light intensity.

Immediately after, in the corner of the sports cabin, suddenly appeared a full-body black figure, and after his appearance, he quickly raised his hand and threw out a flying knife towards Feng Luo.

"Whoosh!"

In the darkness, this gray-white flying knife brought a chill and a "ssil" sound, towards Feng Luo's chest.

However, the flying knife missed completely.

Because when the black figure threw out the flying knife from his hand, Feng Luo had already taken a step towards his side, bending his body slightly to make an evasive action.

The flying knife skimmed past the front of his chest by five centimeters, then as it was about to hit the opposite moving cabin wall, it suddenly disappeared.

"Whoosh!"

But after that, right in front of Feng Luo, another black figure appeared as he threw yet another flying knife towards Feng Luo, who just dodged the first flying knife.

Hoof.

Feng Luo still managed to dodge it.

Afterward… the third, the fourth, the fifth flying knife came after.

He dodged the subsequent ten consecutive grey flying knives in this pitch-black environment, which were thrown towards him from all directions.

"Whoosh… "

But afterward, the tenth black figure suddenly appeared at the side of Feng Luo, and the speed from his appearance to throwing that flying knife in his hands, as compared to the previous figures, was faster by at least a fifth.

"Hoof!"

However, Feng Luo still used a side action to dodge the knife successfully.

Then, it was the twelfth and thirteenth flying knife.

After every ten knives, the reaction time they allowed would be shorter, and the flying knife would fly faster in the air.

And, the appearance of the figure and the angle at which the flying knife was thrown out would become more and more tricky.

"Whoosh!"

The 100th grey flying knife skimmed past the sweat that was flung out by the edges of Feng Luo's hair when he was moving about and then dissipated in mid-air.

"Flying knife dodge game concluded, success rate: 97%, difficulty factor 9.5, comprehensive score evaluation: S-."

"Congratulations, you've reached the 15th place in this week's rankings, do you choose to publicize it?"

Throughout the game cabin, suddenly, a pile of colorful virtual fireworks emerged as a woman with a worshipping tone sounded out.

"No!"

Feng Luo slightly gasped as he removed the towel handed over by the service robot in the sports cabin to wipe the sweat from his face.

This flying knife dodge game was a game with great difficulty that was included in the sports cabin, testing response speed, and body flexibility.

Although it was difficult, it was therefore also very popular with some people.

Of course, if they had a fear of such things as knives, they could change what was thrown into balls, fruit, or even birds.

However, the results of the game were roughly equivalent, and the average person would have a proportion of escape absolutely not more than 50%.

He had played this a lot at this high level of difficulty with his highest previous success rate not more than 80%, and that had been under normal circumstances.

However, this time, they were playing in a dark environment.

It directly reached 97%, and he did not successfully dodge three flying knives.

This result was absolutely super high, and if you exclude some people who relied on good luck to get the high score, this score could definitely enter this week's top ten!

You must know, this was the data of the entire 17th Executive Star's network.

"The speed of judgment of the brain increased by at least half, and the body was able to respond to the command of the head in an instant… If I try two more times, it is not impossible to get a full score…"

Feng Luo assessed his current body state.

The reason why he was able to improve so much in one fell swoop was due to the changes in his body that were most likely because of the dramatic impacts of the "seventh brain domain development."

Because this time, his "software attributes" like reaction speed of his thinking and reaction, was much higher than the increase in his strength.

Almost when the virtual figure appeared, his head could immediately find the other person's position, and when the other party threw a flying knife, his body was almost synchronized to make a dodging action.

That was even including the case of a shadow that appeared behind him.

Because, in addition to the reaction of the brain and body, his hearing and vision had also become a lot more flexible.

In that level two dark environment which was previously set, his eyes were not much affected, as he could even clearly see the trajectory of the thrown flying knife in the air.

And the change of his hearing allowed him to hear the movement made by the human footsteps within the sports cabin, as it linked directly in the head to refresh the position of that virtual human figure.

This type of reaction was very close to the feeling after awakening the "Psionics" in the game.

"Well, how could you be so free to drink tea here?"

Half an hour later, after the exercise was done and he removed all the data, Feng Luo walked out half-naked with his eight-pack abs on display while drying his damp hair.

He discovered the manager of this entertainment city, who was really in charge of things here, in a formal white suit sitting in the exclusive lounge next to this VIP sports cabin. The man was holding a glass of this planet's unique Flower Tea while slowly turning around, revealing another cup right in front of him.

"The matters of the entertainment city are temporarily passed to Little Witch to deal with… The system needs to be updated for a day, so I can take some time to relax…"

Mu Wu replied as he moved another cup of freshly boiled Flower Tea with the back of his index finger to the front of Feng Luo.

"Agreed! "

Feng Luo sat on the opposite side of Mu Wu as he sat down, lifted the cup, and took a sip.

"Do you feel dissatisfied with the result of the incident with the September Guild?"

"I said, it's up to you. And it's right not to fight. If it were to be a total war, for Nightless City, their losses would be far more than the September Guild."

Feng Luo shook his head.

"Nightless City Club, after the system update, will move out of the Lu Conglomerate, and be completely independent!"

Mu Wu nodded, but afterward, he looked at Feng Luo and suddenly mentioned this: "Did the big boss agree?"

Feng Luo made eye contact with Mu Wu.

His expression was neither surprised nor shocked, but he only asked with slight curiosity.

"He didn't object…"

Mu Wu nodded, and as he shook his head again, his face looked a little strange.

"Oh! "

Feng Luo went silent.

The Nightless City Club in the game did not have many relations with him technically. Hence, he did not bother much regarding this matter.

"He said he wanted to see you. He wanted to talk to you and ask for your advice on some matters!"

Mu Wu suddenly mentioned another statement.

Feng Luo lifted his head and looked at Mu Wu, where his eyes finally revealed a sense of shock.

Chapter 680: Big Boss Memory!

"Little Feng, come, have a seat." As Feng Luo entered the luxurious virtual projection reception room at the top of Nightless City, a hearty voice that revealed a slight weakness could be heard through the room.

"We haven't met for a while, right?" A person in a nightgown smiled as he asked Feng Luo. He was laying on top of a 3D projection of a white cabin bed that looked no different from a real one.

"It's been more than two months. I couldn't take out time to visit you as there've been many things going on in the game." Feng Luo walked to the side of the cabin bed, his face revealing a smile that was rarely seen.

"All because my body is unwell. Otherwise, I would rather stay in the game, just like you all. This game, War, really is interesting… cough…" The person in the nightgown also smiled. However, after he finished his sentence, he could not help but cough lightly.

"You still haven't found a way?" The smile on Feng Luo's faced disappeared.

He looked at him while he laid on the cabin bed, frowned, and said with concern, "Nope, I tried everything. Not long ago I asked an expert from the Capital Planet for a consultation. I think, in this lifetime, it can only stay like this."

While he was laying down, his smile faded a little and his voice changed and sounded quite down.

He was no other than the big boss of Lu Conglomerate, a billionaire who had yet to reach 50 years of age but already had a net worth of five billion credits.

However, his appearance seemed far from someone who was 40 or more years old. One could believe it if he were 70 years old.

Most importantly, his appearance was shocking. His skull was easily at least a third larger than average, and almost all of his hair has fallen off. All of his four limbs seemed shriveled and smaller than those of an average person, thus having an overall ratio that was off.

This was a sign of a chronic illness.

On top of that, one could understand from their conversation just now that it was an "incurable disease."

"Sigh, never mind, it is not a big deal. Anyways, though those experts from the Capital Planet said it's incurable, it's not like I will die immediately, they said that I could live for at least more than a decade. The fact that I am alive, I am very satisfied. I must say, if not for you now, I would have died on the Star Planet three years ago." The former big boss looked up at Feng Luo, a smile emerging on the face once again.

However, his words unintentionally led Feng Luo's thoughts back to what happened three years ago…

Three years ago, Feng Luo was met with distress in the underground pyramid in Egypt. However, after teleporting, he did not arrive at the 17th Administrative Planet. Instead, he arrived at the Star Planet.

The Star Planet that one could tell from the name, was the origin of the Star Civilization, as well as the "parent star."

However, this parent star, was not what people assumed to be the Capital Planet. Moreover, at that point, it did not even belong to the Star Federation.

This would seem a little weird, but by tracing back the natural development of civilization, one would understand how and why this happened.

The Star Civilization originated from Star Planet, however, it took more than a century for the civilization to enter the Universe Era.

In this process, the Star Civilization was almost improving at a leaping speed, however, the price paid was the predatory mining of the parent star…

By the time we entered the Universe Era and remodeled the first habitable planet, the Star Planet was destroyed to a serious extent and the environment became very poorly maintained while the population far exceeded the capacity of the planet.

Under these circumstances, there was an urgent need for interstellar migration, and those who could obtain the priority right to migrate would not say more about it… One must understand, now on the Star Planet, there was a system similar to the remnant culture of the feudal civilization on Earth.

On one side was a new planet transformed through the teamwork of all civilians that had a beautiful environment and fresh air, as well as natural water sources free of pollution. On the other side was an old planet that was heavily polluted and destroyed, so much so that if one were to stay for one more day, they could contract a terminal illness due to various problems.

However, the transportation capacity was very seriously inadequate at that crucial time. Those who were given priority to board the migration spacecraft were not chosen via a fair ballot, instead, they were the so-called "higher-ups and elites."

For a heavily overpopulated Star Planet, the war was inevitable.

Anyone could predict the outcome of a full-out war involving such advanced technologies without further explanation…

On the Star Planet, the huge population that originally exceeded the planet's capacity reduced drastically to not even one percent of the initial number. The entirety of the Star Planet became ruins of war.

However, the loss from this war was not significant to the entire Star Civilization, because the social elites that had the priority right immigration had set up a "Star Federation" on the new planet, one with a higher-level social structure as compared to the original Starlings.

While the new planet only had a few hundred million inhabitants that were a little insufficient, but it was not a major issue.

It was because, after migration, there would be an even more explosive development in technologies, especially the development of biological and genetic technologies that allowed them to recover the population number very rapidly.

With mechanical intelligence technologies that improved rapidly every day, there was no reason the Star Federation required a huge population to complete the "colonization" of a cosmic planet.

Of course, this process resulted in a huge problem for the one percent of people left on the original Star Planet.

As opposed to the elites who migrated to the new planet into a more "civilized" society, the people left on the original planet among the ruins of war, formed a society that regressed hundreds of years, to the point of "barbarism."

……

Feng Luo could still remember the first scene he saw after teleporting.

It was a planet destroyed beyond recognition.

What he saw was yellow sand that blurred with the endless sky and some ruins that resulted from the war. There was no food or water in sight… Even the atmosphere in the sky was destroyed to the point where it could not block the deadly cosmic rays.

The extent of destruction on the Star Planet was at least ten times more serious than the background from War.

Feng Luo walked in the yellow sand for a day and a night until he saw a survivor base that was enclosed by something similar to a glass cover.

Contrary to his expectations, there were no restrictions in place that required him to surrender food or supplies that were in shortage among the ruins to enter. For an adult full of fighting spirit, with no signs of sickness from radiation or infections like Feng Luo, they let him in easily into the survivor base.

No one was bothered about his messy language and the crappy story he made up last minute regarding where he came from.

After he joined the base, he participated once in a physical conflict to fight over resources against another base. After he came out alive, he was arranged by the higher-ups in his base to carry simple weapons and guard a few passengers that were held hostage on a Star Federation civil spacecraft to demand supplies from the Star Federation Government. Feng Luo's base worked together with a few other big bases to hijack the spacecraft.

The hostages, of course, included the big boss.

Starlings who grew up in the ruins would, for different reasons, have bottled up hatred towards people in the Star Federation.

However, Feng Luo, as a mercenary from Earth, was far more gentle to the captives in contrast. At least he did not torture or even kill mercilessly out of anger.

With that said, given Feng Luo's cruel nature, he also did not lose when it came to be fierce. Within a short half month, he became a character that had the right to speak even among guards with better builds than him.

It was around the same time that he managed to save the big boss and two other people from almost getting killed by a guard, simply because they frustrated him.

Now that he thought of it, Feng Luo was pretty glad that he saved them, because not long after the Star Federation that was initially lenient when it came to the behaviors of Starlings, suddenly sent troops out to them.

A huge army formed by ten large fleets completely cleared and demolished the Star Planet. A few hundreds of survivor bases were wiped out.

Those who were inside were all captured and escorted with force out of the Star Planet by the army. They were scattered to different Administrative Planets for management and monitoring, and then gradually assimilated into the Federation.

The survival base Feng Luo was at did not manage to escape either.

However, fortunately in this process, big boss and the two other captives Feng Luo saved were able to become guarantors for him.

All thanks to the billionaire credit rating of the big boss, Feng Luo was assigned to the 17th Administrative Planet and was successfully granted citizenship in the Star Federation Government just after one year of full monitoring observation.

Without a doubt, this completely covered up his identity and past.

However, while the big boss was held hostage, during the conflict, he has forcefully injected a substance that corroded the brain, resulting in serious symptoms in his body.

"Although technology is very advanced, the brain is still a forbidden area. Any organ can be replaced with technology nowadays, but my problems just had to be caused by my brain… cough…" Big boss let out a sigh that woke Feng Luo up from his memories. The sigh also sounded like a surrender to his fate.
