Chapter 681: Hiring Fee, 50% Nightless City Shares?

"Brother Feng, I haven't even congratulated you yet… One can say you're currently the highest-ranking of the entire planet of two billion people!"

"I felt that with your ability, you would definitely be able to make yourself achieve something great, but I did not think that you had already made such an amazing achievement during Wartime!"

After sighing, the big boss suddenly changed the conversation topic into "Wartime."

Although due to physical reasons, the big boss barely entered the game and took a back seat early. However, he was clearly well informed about the matters within the game.

"It's mainly due to good luck, but please don't praise me like that. No matter how popular Wartime is, it's still a version of a game. It's an exaggeration to say I'm at the pinnacle of two billion people, that is overexaggerating…"

Feng Luo shook his head and smiled.

"You're too modest!"

"Wartime is definitely not an ordinary game. Otherwise, the government would not use this type of measure for advertising the game to all the citizens, simply so that almost everyone can enter the game. It definitely has its importance!"

"I've invested my whole life into it, and even though I'm not physically fit right now… My judgment will definitely not be wrong!"

"So, Xiao Feng, you better stop being modest. Obtaining the initiative in this game, my intuition is that it would have a lot more value than earning up to billions of dollars in real life!" said Big Boss with an assured face, shaking his head.

This made Feng Luo feel a little surprised.

He was naturally aware of "Wartime" being atypical. After all, it was involving matters from Earth and was able to affect their real-life bodies as well through the experiences.

But it was obviously impossible for the big boss to know about that, but he was really relying on intuition to make that judgment about Wartime.

Feng Luo could not help but admire it. It was no wonder his big boss was able to start from scratch and earn billions of assets, and also have the courage to invest huge sums of money in the "Wartime" to build a city.

"Xiao Feng, regarding what Ah Wu said, what is your opinion on completely removing the Nightless City Club from the Lu Conglomerate?"

Big Boss suddenly changed the conversation topic again and actually asked about the matter that Mu Wu raised to Feng Luo.

"I'm more inclined to be in agreement… Because of today's events, Nightless City and September Guild have no chance of reconciliation at all… And the cooperation between Lu Conglomerate and September Guild is unlikely to be interrupted, so…" said Feng Luo directly, after thinking about it for a while.

Although today Mu Wu and Mr. X had reached a settlement, it was only a settlement for this matter.

The relationship between both parties was not possible to be repaired, and it would not be a good thing if they were to stay in the same city.

Feng Luo was sure that Big Boss would definitely know the matters that happened today.

He may even have known about the conflict between the Nightless City Club and the headquarters of the Lu Conglomerate, as well as the tension between them and the September Guild.

As to why he did not intervene and settle the matters, after the few sentences that Big Boss just said, he expressed about how clear he was, and clearly, he had his own intentions.

"Yes…It's the same as what I thought…Sigh…"

Big Boss sighed.

"Actually… Ah Wu is my son…"

Then, Big Boss suddenly showed some hesitation in his expression as he told Feng Luo after.

"…"

Feng Luo was a little surprised initially, but afterward, his gaze became calmer.

"It seems that you had already guessed that? True, it looks like it's pretty obvious by now."

Big boss's face was a little surprised, but then there was a wry smile.

"I haven't thought about it before, and it was just recently when…"

Feng Luo did not continue talking.

The reason why he speculated about this kind of gossip about the identity of Mu Wu was that the issues that arose when Mu Wu was in Nightless City Club, as well as his disagreement against Young Master Night Star, was too obvious.

Although almost every employee in Nightless City knew that the big boss had a lot of trust in Manager Mu Wu, as the affairs of Nightless Club city were directly and completely passed to Mu Wu.

But, in any case, being a subordinate in theory, no matter how much the boss favored him, he should not be opposed to the future heirs of the group.

After all, with the big boss's physical condition, everyone knew that, in the future, Lu Chen would definitely be the helm of Lu Conglomerate.

And what Mu Wu had done recently, whether it was refusing to integrate Night City Club into the Lu Conglomerate, or from what Feng Luo just said, to move the city away from the Lu Conglomerate, they were slightly exceeding the responsibilities of a manager.

And under such circumstances, Big Boss actually did not say anything.

This clearly was sufficient for some people to have some guesses.

"Ah Wu's character was similar to his mother. He is absolutely uncompromising about what he cares about, and has always wanted to do something to prove himself…"

"Of course, he has the ability, and he's even better at managing and judging the situation than I do… In this regard, although Ah Chen also does a good job, he is not as good as Ah Mu…"

Big Boss's face showed an expression of him recollecting his memories, and his mouth was like a chatbox that was opened as it spoke continuously.

Feng Luo stood beside him as he listened attentively.

He did not ask things like why, in this case, did he pass Lu Conglomerate to Young Master Night Star and not Mu Wu?

Simply because Big Boss was a Lu and Mu Wu's surname was Mu. This was clearly sufficient to show that Mu Wu had zero possibility of taking over the Lu Conglomerate.

It was previously said that the star civilization was a little strange. Its science and technology were clearly very developed, but they still maintained some "feudal era" customs that were similar to Earth.

It was like a big family that was divided into main branches, side veins… There were even lineages within the family, with several different names.

Of course, in addition to these two salutations, there was an even more unique identity that gave off a different expression—an illegitimate child.

"Oh… Look at me, once people age to a certain extent, once he recalls he will never stop talking … Xiao Feng, in fact, the reason why I wanted to see you this time, in addition to asking you on your views of Ah Wu's proposal, but also, more importantly, I have something to discuss with you."

After five minutes of recollection, the big boss finally recovered from his mild absent-mindedness.

Then, looking at Feng Luo, he apologized with a joking tone.

Feng Luo stood up straight as he waited for the big boss to speak.

"For a variety of reasons, I'm sure it's impossible to hand over the Lu Conglomerate to Ah Wu … However, Nightless City is mainly set up by my personal funds, although previously it was under the name of the Lu Conglomerate, I have bought back all the shares."

"I have signed a gift contract, to prepare to give you and Ah Wu 50% of the shares each of Nightless City Club!"

However, the big boss's words really made Feng Luo reveal a face full of shock.

As the deputy manager of Nightless City, although Feng Luo was not very involved in the management and operations, he would at least know that the total price of Nightless City was at least more than 200 million star coins. Now the big boss just gave him 50% of the shares, which was more than 100 million!

Even though the big boss had assets that were worth more than five billion, this was still a lot for a gift.

It should be said that this had exceeded the amount that a gift should be.

"Xiao Feng, don't talk. Listen to me to finish talking… Cough!"

Just when Feng Luo wanted to open his mouth, the big boss rushed to continue talking first.

"Even though I haven't been in the game for a long time, I've actually been watching you all. Knowing your reputation and assets, Xiao Feng, you might not see this mere half of the Nightless City's shares with much importance. Not needing to mention anything else, just the BOSS chip you have obtained is far more than the value of the Nightless City…"

"And, with your character, you will certainly not agree to accept it!"

"But I remember when we first met, you said you were a mercenary, and the rule of doing things was to talk with money… Cough…"

"Then can I take this 50% of shares and hire you to help Ah Wu in the game for a year, just like helping him in the entertainment city, it will not take you too long. You just need to help whenever necessary. This could also count towards me as a father to make up for what I have owed him…Cough…"

Big boss's cough intensified after talking continuously.

Moreover, this time the bruises on his head bulged again, as if he was suffering a severe headache, but his eyes were still looking expectantly towards Feng Luo.

Chapter 682: Shocking, National Evolution!

Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

"…"

Feng Luo looked solemn for a while as he did not immediately nod.

Although he saved the life of the big boss, Feng Luo did not feel that he should gain continuous benefits as a return from that saving grace.

By his guidelines of doing things, if saving the big boss's life was a one-time job, then the security deposit that the big boss and the federal government gave would be a part of the salary.

As for the other part, his job as the deputy manager of Nightless City for the two years-plus where he did not have to manage anything could be included inside as well.

In this case, he and the big boss should be even, and the things that happened after should be recalculated separately.

Of course, this was actually an extreme monetary measure.

Feng Luo's character did not consider much of this type of measure, and he was not the type of person who only talks about the exchange of money with equivalued items.

For him, there were a lot more important things as compared to money, such as true friends, personal likes and dislikes, or some things that were predetermined in their hearts.

On this point, the big boss, as a man who earned five billion assets from scratch, would obviously know that as well.

As a result, in the game, he had gifted things several times in the name of reward or employment fees to Feng Luo, but in fact, the greater significance behind it was that he had always placed Feng Luo's saving grace within his heart.

And this time, 50% of the shares in Nightless City, he mentioned that it was paid as a salary, but still, it was, in essence, a gift.

After all, how can there be a hiring job that had such loose conditions and generous rewards?

However, genuinely speaking, these 100 million star coins, in fact, really could not employ Feng Luo for such a long-term matter.

Because, in the current "Wartime" game, Feng Luo's revenue had far exceeded this number.

The market price of a quasi-BOSS chip had reached about 100 million stars, and this was only part of the profit from a two-day mission.

If you followed the previous offer of Xiao Luo Shui, the value of that BOSS chip would reach or even exceed one billion star coins.

As a result, a hundred million dollars as an employment fee was really not enough for Feng Luo.

In particular, with Feng Luo's internal principles, once he had accepted the employment, he would never ruin his own reputation.

Naturally, it was not going to be like the big boss said, needing to manage the entertainment city like how he was doing it now, totally washing his hands of it.

And the matters that a big guild would need to settle was definitely far more complicated as compared to the reality. Once there was any situation, it required a lot more effort.

After thinking it through, perhaps, this was after the big boss had accurately judged Feng Luo's character when he raised this matter.

He knew that Feng Luo would treat it seriously once he agreed.

Although the big boss would remember the saving grace, as a businessman, he still had the nature of the businessman. What's more, he was even a successful businessman.

"Alright, I will accept this employment for a year!"

After considering for nearly a minute, and looking at the big boss already having some expressions of devastation, Feng Luo nodded.

The big boss's morbid face revealed a joyful expression.

"The board and I have decided to fully move the focus of the Lu Conglomerate into "Wartime." Therefore, Nightless City, with its original intentions was to accumulate contacts, did not have as much of importance!"

"However, after all, there are thousands of old clients in the Nightless City Club, who are definitely not ordinary people in the 'Wartime.'"

"So I suggest that you two, if possible, keep it running!"

After Feng Luo promised, the whole spirit of the big boss had improved a lot.

At this time, while lying in the convalescent cabin, he was "giving a lecture" to Feng Luo excitedly.

1

Although he had given the illegitimate son, Mu Wu, less than one-twentieth than his true heir son of Young Master Night Star.

But Nightless City actually had some potential value, this type of thing like a "network," and you could tell from the fact that Sister Rui was a Diamond VIP member.

Therefore, the big boss's opinion was very accurate, and it was best for Nightless City to continue running.

This, of course, meant that the 49% of the shares that Feng Luo gained might not be able to convert into something practical.

Yes, it was only 49%.

1

Although Feng Luo promised the big boss, he did not agree to accept 50% but chose to accept only 49%, so that the main rights of Nightless City were still given to Mu Wu.

This was a type of attitude, although he and Mu Wu had a good relationship, if both of them were holding 50% of the shares, it was easy to give rise to issues.

"The Lu Conglomerate City has now established a strategy to work with the September Guild to take the border transit terminal city … After the Nightless City Club is separated, if it wants to expand into something big, it is best to be able to build a city on its own. Of course, building a city needs too much money, you can choose a suitable urban city to develop, and then wait for the opportunity…"

"Also, if you are able to not bring in outside investors, that is for the best. It's really easy to attract sabotagers."

"Of course, this point is really hard. After all, a guild needs too much money to grow. There are a few good options amongst the clients in the club if you want to attract investments."

Although the big boss was lying in the convalescent cabin, he still had done a lot of research on the guild in "Wartime."

However, although the big boss was speaking with some excitement, if you were to see it carefully, these words actually gave off a feeling of a hero remembering his past.

For a businessman with a good eye, at his best age in his forties, the game of "Wartime" was the biggest opportunity in his eyes, but his physical state would only allow him to simply leave things to others to carry out.

This naturally made people sigh.

"Sir, sir! "

Just when the big boss was giving the lecture halfway.

In the virtual picture, there were suddenly sounds of hurried shouting noises.

"Ah Fu, what's the matter?" "

The big boss's head turned because there was no projection, Feng Luo could not see the situation on the other side.

However, you could hear the noises.

"Sir, a huge situation… Huff, the "Wartime" official website … Huff… The latest announcement has been made… Huff…"

The gasps within his voice suggest that he seemed to have experienced some rapid running, but his tone was filled with excitement.

"Official announcement? 'Wartime' updating and giving out an announcement, what was strange about that, how did you run like this?"

There was some doubt on the big boss's face.

"Because… Huff… Because… Huff…"

The voice on the opposite side was breathless for a while, as he did not even finish his sentences.

"Shua!"

On this side, Feng Luo had already connected to the official website of the "Wartime" through the terminal in the projection room.

The official website of "Wartime" rarely published information, but this time, the entire official website interface had been converted into a huge eye-catching title feature video.

The video above had a well-dressed person that was familiar to all, with the Star Federation flag behind him, who was sitting in front of a semi-circular office table.

The title was, "The Supreme Speaker's Speech, the era of evolution open to all."

"Evolution to all, don't tell me …"

Feng Luo's heart flickered as he swiftly clicked into it and read the content.

As he had guessed, the announcement informed that the game "Wartime" could affect the real body of the player.

It was announced by the excited top leader of star civilization, the results of the research of this era.

Some of the behavior of players in the "Wartime," as well as some of the things they encountered, could stimulate the evolution of the human body through feedback from the game cabin and nerves.

1

Evolution is mainly through the basic qualities of the body, feelings, as well as the brain, nervous system, etc…

As for this, each topic was equipped with a dedicated demo video.

Some people jumped on a dozen meters high floor.

Some people moved so fast that they became fragments, and could even catch up with the hoverboards that were already started.

Some people's vision was disgusting to the extreme, as they could see from a few thousand meters away, a line of text on a wall that was extremely small.

Next, there were some well-known scientists, experts, who were carrying out endorsements regarding "Wartime" not having any negative side effects on the human body.

Even some people of the Star Medical Civilization also guaranteed that the game would not only not cause harm to the player's body, but also, through experiments, the game had been made to treat many of the difficult problems that current technology could not treat, especially symptoms of the brain nerves and genes.

"These … are true…"

Feng Luo turned to see that the opposite big boss was trembling as he sat up from his sanatorium cabin, with his eyes staring straight at the air official website projection of the videos of the few medical experts speaking, his voice trembling and his eyes fiery.

Although he had just been completely discouraged and had already prepared for spending the rest of his life in this psychological state, as long as there was the slightest chance, his heart certainly did not want to die.

And Feng Luo, when he saw this, he was clearly aware of the matter.

"Wartime" was no longer just a virtual game. It was potentially going to become more "hot" than the real world.

Chapter 683: Woman, Who Is This?

The official announcement of the "Wartime" had undoubtedly caused a great stir.

At this moment, the people who were in the follow-up content to the updates on the official website watched the announcement.

They had almost fallen into a moment of incomparable surprise, and they then doubted their own eyes.

Then, after making sure they did not see wrongly, they got into an excitement and even madness.

This degree of madness, after the announcement was released, and although they were unable to enter the game, on the forum, posts regarding Feng Luo were all squeezed out within half an hour.

Popular posts, all transformed into "national evolution, impact on reality, treatment of terminal illness…" and other keywords of the title, were in abundance.

And at the top, it became a post on "National Evolution, Superhumans! Is this an official hype, or is this real?"

It had to be said that the word "superhuman" was attractive to everyone.

Who did not want to be able to get the superhuman abilities that the people in that video showed? Not to mention, there was even a chance to treat "terminal illness"!

However, there were also doubts about the images shown by those men in the video. Could the human body really perform to that degree? Could this be the game that officials used? The technology to create dummies to create a gimmick advertisement?

After all, with "Wartime," a 100 percent simulation effect, it made a false picture that was completely impossible to distinguish from reality.

Of course, regarding this issue, most people thought it was impossible.

Because even the Supreme Speaker had already appeared, and the game company could no longer be so bold to use the name of the civilized leaders indiscriminately.

What's more, "Wartime" by itself had already issued a game cabin to everyone. Everyone had the game account of this national-level game, so why would they still need to resort to such means?

"Bzz, bzz, bzz, bzz…"

In the same 22nd region, a position not far from Nightless City, in an upscale residential area, a luxurious private sports cabin, a figure with her hair tied up in a ponytail was moving swiftly in the dim light.

With her near-invisible movement at high speed, the four consecutive rounds of blue-and-white bullets fired from all directions, all swept past the edges of her body, and then virtually disappeared as they hit the walls of the opposite side of the sports cabin.

But under the circumstances of not giving her the slightest breathing time, the surroundings in the exercise cabin were simulated around the 50-meter range.

The four figures, armed with some huge gun-like objects in their hands, continued a new round of shooting as they ran about around the center.

"Bzz, bzz, bzz, bzz…"

In the sports cabin, the blue-and-white bullets were constantly being fired, and the figure in the center was also dodging with almost invisible speed.

It was not until the seventh round of the four rounds that she was hit in the chest by a bullet because she had been forced to an angle that she was unable to dodge.

"Flying Knife Dodge game ends, completion rate: 82%, computed results grade: "A" (Super Difficulty Data Hidden)."

The female electronic sound rang.

This was the legendary "flying knife dodge game" extreme difficulty mode that could only be unlocked by achieving a 100% dodge success rate through the high difficulty.

"A, huh…"

The figure at the center of the sports cabin had stopped as it revealed a very tall and an almost perfect figure from all angles.

With a few strands of hair stuck to the face with sweat, she looked quite eye-catching, but with clearly a very cold and a seductive appearance.

It was only when she heard the result of the report that the woman with cold eyes frowned slightly, as she did not seem satisfied with the result.

"Ding! Wartime's official website released its latest announcement!"

At this time, a smart notification sounded out.

"Link! "

The woman turned her head and looked into the air.

At a glance, the official website projection opened up from her sound response, with the eye-catching "national evolution" title at the top.

"Finally, this part of the information is published!"

Upon seeing the news, she was not surprised or excited like the general people, but rather just showed a dull face.

"In that case, I just need to wait until some top players catch up on the in-game properties, then the system blocked properties in the game should be able to be completely unlocked!"

Then, afterward, she said another statement coldly.

"I guess that a lot of people are getting excited at this moment, and even going to be sleepless tonight!"

"The funny thing is those who are exhilarated at this point, do you really think that this kind of stimulation would make the human body evolve really without any side effects? Although the chances of side effects in today's mature version of Wartime should be much smaller than those of us, who were the initial guinea pigs selected for the experiment…"

Then her eyes became even colder, as the information revealed in her words was absolutely startling for anyone if they heard it.

"And…In my thorough reflection, the government, knowing that some dangers cannot be completely eliminated, is still carrying out this national evolution in this way… How can the reasons be simple? Regarding this point, even that batch of us back then did not know it initially…"

After that, she seemed to have recalled something. Her cold and sharp eyes seemed as if they could not help but reveal some confusion.

This confusion continued into the video, into which the individuals show the "superpower" after their evolution.

Viewing the video, either those who had super-fast speeds, or had extreme explosive power, or had the vision to see thousands of meters away clearly and in detail…

Her expression then had a slight change as she frowned.

"They are the people who entered the final round? It shouldn't be… If it was only at these standards, then they are too weak… These standards, at most, will be barely at the second stage of awakening!"

"By comparison, for the time when an average player is entering the stage in which he awakens his Life Force, a portion of the faster people will also require about a year to catch up…"

"As for the first 'he' of the average player to complete the first phase of evolution… In order to obtain this level, it should take him up to half a year, perhaps faster… And following this, this evolutionary advantage will only become more apparent!"

"By then, there must be a big gap between people, no matter whether they are in the game and in reality."

There was a fine light in her eyes, and then her voice suddenly changed, as if she was talking to someone.

"There's never been any real fairness in this world, so the game will not have as well!"

"Although "Wartime" provides enhanced guidance for all aspects, the effect will vary from person to person, and the more intense the stimulus, the better the effect is…If you don't want to be eliminated by then, or even lose the participation qualifications at the end of the mystery, then do not be so lazy and afraid of hardship!"

After saying this, she turned off the projection, removed the excess clothes from her body, and then walked out of the sports cabin.

Then, lying on a snow-white game cabin which was placed at the edge of a room, she put on a helmet and closed her eyes instead of choosing to log into the forum…

After about a minute, her eyes then opened again, as her initially cold eyes became slightly confused, it was not until a few seconds later that the eyes then regained their focus.

First, the eyes rolled around, and then her entire person suddenly sat up in the game cabin in an instant.

"Hiss!"

The woman's mouth exhaled a short breath, and then, her face changed, showing a very unhappy expression.

"The body is sore … What did she do again? Took another stealth super knife game test?"

"Abominable, such unbridled exercise will ruin her figure. It's annoying. This body is not solely yours!"

"And, change away all the red colors that belong to me!"

The woman kneaded her bound chest and bloated arms and her slender legs as she was looking annoyed and rolling her eyes as if she was trying to recall something.

"Wow, she even lectured me intentionally?"

"What is being lazy and afraid of suffering? Who is the one lazy? You encountered a lot of important situations and did not do anything. In the end, I'm the one who had to face those situations!"

Her anger was written all over her face.

"And she hid some important memory fragments through hypnotism? I can't see them! Damn, why is it only possible for you to look through this part of the memory! This is completely not fair…"

Then, it seemed like she encountered an even troublesome matter as she almost went crazy.

Then, her line of sight finally fell onto the game cabin suspension screen regarding the update news of the Wartime update.

"Well, the Wartime has been updated? Games are able to affect reality, carrying out national evolution! Ah, is it true? "

The next day.

With an hour left in the 24-hour update, the officials issued a notice about the "second update to wartime."

1. The evolution progress of the game cabin to the human body and more detailed body monitoring query function.

2. Upon killing the target, the last strike value is changed to exceed the upper limit of the residual life.

3. Changes to the pet call rule limited to pet summoning and recycling during combat state.

4. Damage determination modification, a non-fatal position injury in a certain period of time cannot exceed a certain percentage of the lifetime value of the target, and it also increases the chance of player injury after disability.

5. Opening up a greater degree of combat freedom and skill freedom, opening up master skills and profession level.

6. Open self-created skills system.

7. Increased the Life Force and other advanced force attribute awakening degree tips!

8. Modify…

This time, the official website gave a lot of updated content, just a brief list above there were close to a hundred lines, as the content was related to all aspects from combat to living.

Because there was simply too much, even Feng Luo, at this small period, was only able to skim through the content once.

And at that point in time, the updated "Wartime" had reopened.

At the same time, countless players poured into the game.

On this day, "Wartime" had its highest online rate since its release.

Chapter 684: A Timid Elite-Grade Lizard

An endless desert, as the sky is filled with yellow sand blown up by the wind.

There were only some scattered trees that had no leaves at all on their branches, which looked like they lost their lives, and some sharp grass which was tight together, stubbornly surviving.

In front of a huge circular sand dune, a level-65 elite-grade "Desert Tailed Lizard" was carefully crouching in the skull of a weathered, unknown large animal. It had a body less than half a meter in size covered with sand-colored scales.

Although its grade was elite, being at the bottom of the hierarchy in this area meant that it also had to be careful at all times of the higher-grade predators.

Suddenly, however, its head moved.

It could hear a sound a kilometer away with its sensitive hearing as if it felt something was moving at high speed from under the sand dunes next to it.

But it first shrank its body again, ensuring that it was more stealth in its hiding.

Then, this level 65 elite-grade creature carefully peeked out of the skull using its eyes, which evolved after several hundreds of years, to be able to see at an extremely far distance.

A few hundred meters away, beneath the dunes, were two huge and strange objects moving rapidly, with a huge plume of dust curling up behind them.

It was a lot bigger, though it was much smaller than the overlords of this small area, the level-70 Sand Whale Commander.

But compared to its size, it was still a dozen times larger than it.

However, why did it seem that it had never seen such a thing, was it an alien invader? Did it want to fight for territory with the Sand Whale?

"Hiss! "

The desert tailed lizard suddenly trembled, and then its body suddenly retracted back into the skull.

"Bang! "

The skull that it was hiding in was suddenly hit by something that was hot and as big as a rock.

Immediately after, this object blew open, and some scalding liquid splashed onto the weathered skull where it was hiding. After that, it led to the whole skull burning up, billowing black smoke.

"Hiss, hiss! "

The desert tailed lizard jumped like a cat that had its tail trampled, as there was an angry and shocked cry from its mouth.

Although it had almost no guys, as a level-65 elite-grade creature, its character was not lacking violence.

In the case of its hard-to-find hiding place being destroyed, its anger led it to decide that it would rush out immediately, and then…

First, scare the intruders, and then find the right time to escape!

"Bang!"

However, just as it rushed out, the hot "stone" from before, fiercely hit it on its head.

"-8678!"

The hard scales of its head were smashed open by this stone, as flesh and blood were flying everywhere, even its head was so smashed that it became a little squishy.

"Bang! "

And before it could react, another of that "stone" hit its stomach.

"-4578!"

It hurt.

It was smashed twice in a row, and it hurt so much.

It did not feel so good, and it was definitely better not to mess with big things.

"Whoosh! "

Quickly turned to the ground, the desert tailed lizard wanted to drill into the sand to escape.

"Bang!"

"-12354!"

However, just when it had drilled most of its body into the sand, the third shot of the armor-piercing bullet had hit its body just as accurately.

The desert tailed lizard suddenly regretted greatly. It should have known to run away from the start.

Sure enough, those two giant monsters were far more powerful than their own.

"Level 65, 25,000 blood and the defense was already considered high for an elite-grade monster. They encountered monsters along the way had become more and more difficult to deal with!"

"But the loots that burst out are not bad! Although it was only an elite-grade piece of equipment, its properties were comparable to a level 50 excellent equipment. However, its level requirements were too high, and we are unable to use this at all for the next few months!"

The "big monster" stopped next to the carcass of the desert tailed lizard after a few dozen seconds.

Carrying the golden alloy sword back, Boss Meng jumped out of the car with great excitement as he picked up the pair of warrior arms guards that were burst out from this desert tailed lizard, but he lost interest after reading its properties.

"How far is the journey ahead?"

Another modified "land rover" SUV, which used special tires for sand, was parked next to it. Feng Luo, from the open top of the vehicle with his Wings of Death, asked Mu Wu who had just opened the map on his computer terminal.

"There's probably about a hundred kilometers left, and hopefully there will not be too many problems on the road. Let us enter the target area before the night. There are more monsters in the Death Desert at night as compared to the day!"

Mu Wu looked up at that fiery sun above his head.

The two "big monster" SUVs were transporting the group of people from Nightless City and Feng Luo.

And this location that they were at was the withered desert that Feng Luo had been to once, which was beside the Stormwind City.

It also belonged to the periphery of a dangerous area close to the depths of the withered desert, which was the most inaccessible to humans.

Here, the monster's base level had reached level 65, so ordinary players could not even deal with an elite-grade monster here. Even Feng Luo had to use three shots before he finally triggered the effect of his Lethal talent to kill.

And in the deepest part of the withered desert, the monsters are said to have levels above level-70, and the few people(NPC) who entered did not survive. So, in the places deep in the withered desert, there was another name for it, Death Desert.

Even players in non-mission situations would hardly enter this area to seek death.

It was just that they had a mission to do it incidentally.

The mission to escort the brain worm from the ruins required them to go to an underground research laboratory under the jungle of death.

However, there was no jungle of death.

Because the so-called jungle of death had become the death desert today!

The initial battle with the Zergs was clearly so fierce that, with the use of devastating weapons, this jungle, which was once the largest on the entire continent, was now almost entirely a desert except for a few parts.

The only thing that was passed down was its "death" name, which symbolized danger.

"This task is really difficult to do, the monsters along the way are really a little too many, mainly needing to catch up on the journey requires three-plus days, we even ruined 2 SUVs so far!"

"We should have known to choose to enter from the other side, the position that was closer to the forest!"

Although Jiao Zong was as thin as a monkey, its energy robes on its body could adjust his temperature, but his body at this time was still filled with sweat.

Because there were monsters everywhere on the road, they must open the window, so even if the air conditioning was on, the temperature inside the car was really not low.

"That side is a territory of the non-governmental armed forces and is completely hostile to the federal government. Although its strength is far less than the rebel army, it is definitely not an army that our small team can dare to challenge!"

"Besides, the monster levels in the middle of the jungle at that end is also very high, which is inferior to this area, and also the density of the area is greater, it's more secure to choose to take the desert path!"

"What's more, we did not waste the previous few days. Everyone did train their levels."

Thorn Rose was sitting in the driving position of the opposite SUV. She was holding the wheel plate in one hand and resting her desert-colored bronze-skinned arm on the window.

This time after this update, the experience of levels 45 to 50 had been adjusted, perhaps taking into account the increased PK frequency after the player had reached full levels.

If it was full and it dropped, they would only need half of its initial experience to regain the levels.

This had also allowed the group of people to return to level 50, being capable of using Level 50 equipment and restoring full combat effectiveness.

Otherwise, this journey would become more difficult.

"And, Brother Jiao, Brother Meng. On this road, you have also created a lot of self-created skills in the battle too, which is also a good reward."

Little Snow, who was sitting at the back, suddenly smiled while covering her mouth.

"Self-created skills, this is totally useless!"

It was better not to mention that. The moment Little Snow mentioned it, Jiao Zong screamed as if he was a cat with its tail stepped on.

Chapter 685: Self-Created Skills System!

"This game is simply trying to trick people, and the self-created skills have no threshold at all, anyone can create if they want to!"

"But the skills created, had not much of an upgrade as compared to the damage of ordinary attacks. They even had to expend more MP. It's totally useless!" Jiao Zong blurted out with a depressed face.

The game made a lot of adjustments in this update. In addition to announcing the progress of guiding the Life Force, the most attractive to the players was naturally the opening of the self-created skills system.

Most players could not wait to experiment immediately after the system was updated.

But it turned out that the self-created skills in "Wartime" were simply elementary.

They just needed to select the Create Skills directive and then make some actions during that time period.

The system would record this period of time when the player was attacking or moving and generate a skill, and the skill could also be named by the player himself.

This made it possible for countless players to create tens of millions of names of their "self-created skills," which would drop people's jaws on the first day after the update.

Soon, however, players discovered that most of these skills were of very low value.

The skills that they created would have a slight addition to their attributes, but this addition was still very low compared to the usual attacks, and the consumption of their MP was a lot.

"That is because your techniques are terrible, and in the end, could only create a bunch of E, F-grade low skills, alright?"

"Like the "D-plus" grade skill I created at noon yesterday, "Daily Sword." Its power is not inferior to the higher grades of the system skills!"

"So, old Jiao, you cannot simply just blame other people. You only have yourself to blame!"

Boss Meng just patted his golden alloy sword as he lifted his golden helm with his chin. His face filled with self-confidence as he scorned Jiao Zong with mockery.

"Please! You are just lucky to create a D class skill. Let's see how long you can be cocky for!"

"Even if it was a D-class skill, it will still not have much practical use as compared to the same type of system skills that are expertly skilled…"

Jiao Zong glared, as he refused, unwilling to accept defeat as he sounded very dissatisfied.

Yes, self-created skills are not really of any value.

Because within the self-created skills, there is a class distinction.

Yes, it's class, not grade.

Unlike system skill levels, self-created skills had no grade requirements, but it had a system rating much like equipment, which ranged from F till S-class.

Among them, the self-creation skill with F-class was the lowest, and its attribute addition was also the lowest. Its effect was roughly comparable to the same type of system skills with primary proficiency.

And the attributes of E-class self-creation skills additions would be higher, roughly equivalent to intermediate system skills. D-class power was already not bad, as it was comparable to advanced proficiency.

And if you reached C-class, it was no less than the system skills that were skilled at expert level.

And so on and so forth. It was clear that if you created your own B-class skills, you could get a strong skill that was comparable to a master.

Of course, the reason for this type of classification was…

"Until now, the highest class skill published on the forum is only a C-class skill. There are no B-class or higher skills!"

"It's strange, is it so hard to create B-class skills? Then wouldn't it be hopeless to try to create A and S class skills?" asked the fire manipulator who stood behind Feng Luo with a face full of disbelief. He was a Nightless City employee who had been selected to participate in the task.

The original fire manipulator of the team was Little Witch, but Little Witch stayed back to assist Mu Wu in the matters because they were preparing to move Nightless City out of Lu Conglomerate.

Speaking of which, even Feng Luo did not know when there was a relationship between Little Witch and Mu Wu.

Little did he know that Little Witch, who was a newbie who just entered the society, was actually taken in by Mu Wu, who was such a veteran.

"B-class skills should only be created after awakening the Life Force, and it would be based on the Life Force. Before awakening the Life Force, I predict that one can only create at most a C-class skill!"

Feng Luo revealed a smile on his face, then put down his Wings of Deaths as he spoke.

On the forums, no one had created B-class skills, but Feng Luo had found the basis of this speculation from another place.

The system's skill rating was not for ordinary skills (rare skills were also ordinary skills, but it was just a name called by the players), but when Feng Luo looked at his own attributes, he found that there were three special skills in his skill bar, and there was also a system evaluation.

"Life Armor (B), Master Martial Arts (B), Psionic Flame (B)!"

These three skills, which are used by consuming Life Force or Psionics, were all B-class skills under the system evaluation, especially the "Psionic Flame" that the system rewarded him was even rated at a "B" class.

"But to be precise, to create skills above B-class, it is not necessary to use Life Force, but it should be 'advanced attribute strength which was the same class as the Life Force'!" Feng Luo said.

The term "advanced attribute strength, which was the same class as the Life Force" also appeared in the official announcement in this update.

And it was clear that the advanced attribute strength in Wartime was not just Life Force, but Psionics was also one of them.

"The Life Force and Psionics skills did not have a proficiency rating, but there was a systematic evaluation. Does this mean that these skills can actually be upgraded like self-created skills?"

At this time, Feng Luo suddenly thought of an issue in his mind.

The player's self-created skills did not have a proficiency rating, but they could be continuously improved and upgraded through modification.

This means that even an F-class skill has the opportunity to eventually improve into an S-class skill.

Of course, by then, this version of the skill will probably be completely different from its original version.

It is worth mentioning that self-created skills could also be the same.

It is even possible to consider the announced higher class skills tutorials on the forums to self-create "pirated" skills, and succeed in that as well?

However, the skills' attributes and evaluations created by "pirated" versions would be different from the original skills.

Because, through research, Feng Luo found out that the evaluation and attributes of the same self-created skills in the game were not fixed, but should be related to the player's own attributes and combat methods.

Take, for example, a D-class melee skill that a warrior player created. If it was imitated by a manipulator player, and even if it was imitated to be almost identical, the latter was likely to receive only an F-class rating.

However, if the one who imitated was a warrior and was a combatant of the same style but at a higher level, then perhaps the skill level will be upgraded to "C class."

Of course, if this warrior created a B-class skill, then it should not be easy to obtain a pirated version of it.

Because the B-class skill would definitely involve Life Force.

And Life Force was different for everyone's attributes.

Chapter 686: Level-70 Commander-Grade Sand Whale

"Drip, drip, drip…"

While a group of people was discussing their own self-created skills, the legendary scouting bracelet on Mu Zi's hand suddenly rang.

"There's a situation! There's a big guy a kilometer away!"

Mu Zi swiftly lowered his head and looked at it. He schooled his face before quickly adjusting his bracelet a little, projecting a transparent screen in the air in front of the crowd.

On the screen, in a position that was a kilometer away from their left side, there was an elliptical yellow circle that was approaching them.

"Good lord, this thing is not easy to deal with. In this area, the average monster level is at least level 65, and a commander-grade monster should be at least level 60!"

Jiao Zong and Boss Meng stopped arguing with each other as they stared at the scouting image on the screen, with their faces a little dignified.

They were daring enough to go deep into this area with the high-risk of facing high-level monsters with just ten people. Hence naturally, they would not be unprepared.

The legendary scout bracelet obtained by Mu Zi in the ruins was so impressive in its reconnaissance capability, where it was able to detect monsters without stealth capabilities in a kilometer radius.

You must know, even the best and rare Recon Meter, under Detection, would only reach a limit range of only about 500 meters, and this reconnaissance bracelet's warning range was at least double of that.

(Note: If it was a BOSS-grade monster, even a kilometer distance would be sufficient to prompt because there would be heavy pressure under the circumstances of not having stealth. In addition, the recon meter is weakened by the scouting ability of the player.)

If it was not for this legendary grade Recon Meter, and the presence of Feng Luo in the party…

In order to ensure that the task can be completed, not to mention a large team of hundreds of people, at least a medium-sized team of thirty or forty people is a necessity.

As Jiao Zong said, the monster which had discovered them and charging them in a straight line would be hard to deal with.

Because, from the image obtained by the Recon Meter, the monster, which entered the kilometer radius, had a really large volume, which was a little scary. A rough estimate would be that it was reaching 35 meters in length.

Thirty-five meters did not sound too bad?

After all, that sea serpent above the warship was more than forty meters long, and it was not even described as "frightening."

These two characters were not the same concept at all.

Although the quasi-BOSS sea serpent was long, its size was not actually very large, it was only 40 meters long, with its roughness being about three meters.

However, this monster's body was shown as an oval, but this type of volume was no less than the tonnage of a small warship.

If they did not see the alert color on the detector as orange, which represented the commander-grade monster, and instead as the alerting red which represented BOSS, then everyone would immediately sit on the SUV, and retreat in the opposite direction.

But, after all, it was only a commander-grade monster, and it should not be that disgustingly powerful.

And looking at the speed of its movement, it was not fast, so by virtue of the speed of the SUV, and also using kiting techniques…

"We should be able to fight it!"

"Rumble…"

The two energy-driven SUVs rumbled and drove forward at the same time, as it swiftly accumulated rolling dust behind it, and they left two trails behind them as they drove up the top of sand dunes.

Feng Luo raised his Wings of Death as the SUV charged up the sand dunes. His eyes were aiming through the sights of the gun.

At a position on the flattest bottom surface of the large-scaled sand dunes, which was scouted at 900 meters away.

But at this point, the sand was like waves blown up by a hurricane as it surged. At the front, a sand dune more than ten meters high was squeezed out, as it was moving closer to the side.

That commander-grade monster must be within the sand.

"Pew!"

And as the group of people looked over there, the wavering "sand waves" had changed again.

A trail of a few meters thick column-shaped sand spit out by a huge force flew into the sky that was dozens of meters high, and then fell down as if the sky was filled with yellow sand.

It looked as impressive as a column of water spewing out of a whale floating in the ocean.

"Bang! "

By the time the sand column fell, the sound of gunfire was heard.

At a full distance of 900 meters, no other profession could carry out the attack, but it had entered the attack range of the sniper.

In this desert environment, where there were few obstacles, and the light was even more excellent, the sniper's advantage was at its greatest.

A common armor-piercing bullet, which flew at a speed of more than 1500 meters per second, had burst into the sand dunes in less than a second as it passed through.

"Ang!"

After a delay of about a few milliseconds, the moving sand dunes suddenly burst out, and the original wave-like rolling ground suddenly had a large area in the middle that sunk as it revealed a huge black hole.

In the huge black hole, there was a large depressed cry which sounded out from 800 meters away.

Of course, this thing was clearly not a real hole.

Because, in the view of the scope, you could clearly see that within the black hole, there were sharp teeth that were covered with yellow sand.

"Bang!"

This opportunity of its mouth being exposed, how could Feng Luo ever miss this?

As soon as his finger turned, the Wings of Death replaced its magazine almost instantaneously.

Then a bullet with a burning breath broke through the sky with a hot trail as it was shot directly at that open enormous black mouth.

"-6456!"

Although the lethal talent after evolving would lose the addition in the fatal damage, this commander-grade monster obviously did not have a high basic defense, and Feng Luo, with the extreme shooting with his Wings of Death reaching the effective range of 1500M, the power of this bullet did not decay after traveling the distance. It exploded into a hole that was as big as a face, destroying six thousand of its health points.

The burning effect of the B-grade explosive armor-piercing projectiles, as it was also hit onto the teeth and mouth, resulted in continuous damage to its life points.

"Ang!"

Each hit went onto its mouth, and, compared to its enormous body, the hole that was as big as one's face on its large body was likened to an ant bite on a human.

However, the enormous monster finally revealed itself from hiding under the sand after it suffered so much pain.

With a huge roar, the sky-high yellow sand was blown from below as a huge head that was three stories high appeared in the rolling sand.

"Sand Whale (Level 70, Independent Class Commander), HP: 489851, Fatal Locations: Head, Heart…"

The transparent screen projected on Mu Zi's legendary bracelet had revealed the information about this massive creature and virtualized an indicative blood bar.

"Ze!"

Looking at that health bar that was still almost full after being hit by Feng Luo for almost ten thousand health points, everyone was shocked.

Level 70, this was definitely the highest level of monsters most people present had ever encountered except Feng Luo, and its health points were still more than half a million.

The only good point was probably that its defense was not very high.

The previous shot, which was shot by Feng Luo before, still hit nearly 4,000 points of damage even though it was offset by sand.

In theory, it would not be very difficult to kill it if you could inflict fatal damage.

In particular, the commander-grade monsters generally would not have such long-range attacks. Feng Luo could first safely output damage for a period of time, and try to damage this monster's health points to a certain extent.

Speaking of which, it seems that it had been quite long since they had an encounter with a monster that was higher than commander-grade that could pull off an attack after closing the distance between them.

Chapter 687: The Historic Buff for Gunners

"Bang!"

On top of the SUV on the sand dunes, Feng Luo stared at the sniper scope as he adjusted the Wings of Death in front of him slightly then fired again.

At a distance of nine hundred meters away, for Wings of Death which had an

energy accelerator pendant, the bullets it shot would be able to hit that Sand Whale's enormous body in 0.6 seconds.

Of course, for Feng Luo, it was not just a simple hit that he had wanted.

"Pew!"

Feng Luo's third shot hit the giant sand whale's mouth, which, in its pain and anger, still did not close. As it jumped out of the ground, the mouth even became more obvious.

And almost without much difference from the first shot, it exploded into a hole which was as big as a washbasin.

"-2894!"

However, something surprising occurred.

This time, the damage on the head of the sand whale was just over 2800. It did not even reach half of the previous shot.

"Well… I guess I forgot about it again!"

After Feng Luo was stunned for a while, he suddenly seemed to have remembered something.

Immediately after he slightly turned the Wings of Death in his hands, the next shot gave up on the position that the first two exploded armor-piercing bullets struck and created, and instead, he attacked the sand whale's front abdomen under its head when it was exposed.

"-5070!"

The third shot's damage, although it was not as good as the first shot in the mouth, was still more than five thousand.

This was enough to prove that this sand whale, although its health points were amazing, its defense was indeed more average, or even quite poor.

As for why the previous second shot caused only thousand-plus damage, it was because of the changes to the damage system after the system was updated.

After this update, the total damage caused at a non-fatal position would not exceed a certain percentage of HP for a period of time.

This sentence was not difficult to understand.

In the example of a human body, if it was attacked at a single location, and this location was not the key locations like the throat, brain, and heart, then the damage that it could cause was limited in that period of time.

For example, if the arm was at 15%, the thigh being at 20%, and the lungs were 50%…

If the theoretical damage value of the attack reached these proportions, then the subsequent attack would not continue to do damage.

This was a very significant change in the way players fight.

Because with the existence of a single-area injury cap, the player would not be able to accumulate damage at the same place to kill other people like the past.

If you want to kill the other person, you could either choose to attack the fatal parts, or you would have to attack multiple parts or find ways to empty the opponent's HP via continuous "bleeding, poison" relation special measures.

In this way, the battle had obviously become a bit cumbersome.

But if you think about it, this became more realistic.

For instance, if a man was attacked by another aggressive man and a sword was cut into his arm, would the other person just die and fall onto the ground?

Obviously, this seemed a little unreasonable.

And of course, following this, there would be an issue.

And that was, once that position reached its limit of damage taken, then it could use that suffered position to block the fatal attacks.

Many players immediately thought of this seemingly BUG-like combat style as soon as they read the content of the system update.

However, it was clear that the "Wartime" system did not give the players this loophole at all.

Those who tried it out would find themselves devastated immediately as the hospital in the game would be filled with patients in an instant.

This was because although after the damage limit was reached in a certain area, the attack would not damage its health points.

However, it did not mean that the player would not be "injured."

Now, if that site reached its injury limit and then continues to be attacked with a higher amount or a particular type of attack, there would be a great chance of "crippling" the player's body.

After this update, it would no longer be "invulnerable" until the last hit like in the past.

Rather, in these circumstances, it would be similar to NPC, where it might be chopped off or cut and pierced through.

If you were not worried about the cost and the wasted time of physical repair of the body after you are crippled, well, then, go on and use the body part which reached its damage limit and block the attacks.

In addition, other than the damage limit, the standard of injury to attacks in different locations had also been adjusted.

For the same attacks, if the unimportant body parts were to be hit like hands and legs, then the damage taken would be lower than the more important positions like the heart.

And if the vital parts like the brain or the heart were to take damage, then it would bear more damage as compared to the past, which would be determined by the attack.

To put it simply, it could almost be understood that the damage to these positions like the hands and feet become "ordinary damage."

And the damage to the internal organs of these injuries was roughly equivalent to "weakness damage," as for these parts like the hearts, the health point drop would be worse than before.

For ordinary snipers, its impact was huge.

Because this meant that to hit high damage, you would have to increase your marksmanship and need to hit lethal damage.

Feng Luo might be unable to hit lethal damage a hundred percent of the time, but this was under the conditions of his actual body going through "evolution."

For the average person, even if he was the best sniper, it would be difficult to hit lethal spots accurately.

This article, no doubt, was a nerf on the sniper profession.

However, if there was a nerf, then naturally, there would be a buff.

In this update, there was a much more influential change in the Gunners' profession, that the built-in cooling time for the gun fix was canceled.

Yes, whether it was sniper rifles or submachine guns or machine guns, the built-in forced cooling time between the two rounds had been canceled.

This was undoubtedly another change that added "authenticity."

(Well, say, someone started to mock at the "100 percent simulation" that the chapter mentioned, here's the explanation, this refers to the realness of the game. General online games should be using this term right. This does not mean that it is not completely different from the real world… sweats!)

This change was definitely very impactful for the gunners.

Especially for snipers.

Like the Wings of Death for Feng Luo and the previous Barrett, the built-in cooling time was up to two seconds.

This meant that after its single shot, you had to wait two seconds before you could carry out a follow-up attack.

And this time could give the person that was attacked reaction time and even time to counterattack.

After all, two seconds was perfect for a quick enough person to escape, hide, and even fight back.

While the sniper's position was generally far from a few hundred meters away, the other side only needs to move behind a bunker, and the follow-up attack would simply not be able to keep up.

This was actually a serious problem, and now it might be okay, the conventional sniper gun cooled down for only a second, and even lesser after the "fast shooting" skill was turned on.

In this case, there were not very many people who could react.

However, in this game, "Wartime," you could promote the human body "evolution," and one of the key points was the "brain domain."

Take Feng Luo as an example. He was now able to react more than half the speed of his reaction from before. Hence, he was able to react in that instant of the attack and do a counterattack immediately.

It was almost certain that if a sniper attacks him, and under the circumstances that he was unable to insta-kill him on the first shot.

Then before the opponent shot the second shot, he would start to dodge.

Even though it might be like the northern city sniper on the devil's triangular island mission, where he had already been counter killed by Feng Luo, who raised his sniper rifle on the original spot when he was on his second shot, perhaps, someone would want to say that this counter-sniper kill was due to the Life Force skill "Life Armor."

But, by the time the game reached a certain stage, who would not have Life Force?

By that time, the snipers would then face this severe problem.

And obviously, due to this reason, the system unlocked the limit to the guns, allowing the snipers to have this one-time "historic" buff.

Chapter 688: Increased Realism For The Game!

But, to be more precise, this addition was not as unfair as one would think.

Because for most players, although the gun did not have a forced cooling time, aiming the gun on the target also took time, and the process of loading and firing the bullet, also took a certain amount of time.

What's more, after the mandatory cooling time was removed, the system also eliminated the property of the "100% recoil removal."

Now, in the properties of all the guns, there was no longer the property of "recoil reduction."

The statement, in the short term, had a greater impact on gunners as compared to the removal of the cooldown time.

Because whether it was a sniper rifle or a submachine gun or a machine gun with a stand, they all had a significant recoil.

Especially for large-caliber sniper guns, like the Wings of Death that Feng Luo was holding, its recoil, without the reduction of its 50% recoil property, would push the gunner onto the ground upon firing if an original gunner were to hold the gun.

That was why he placed the sniper rifle on the top of the SUV, and not in his hands from before.

Of course, with his strength attribute, he would still be able to hold it if he were to hold and shoot the gun.

In particular, because during these three days, he also raised his level by one, becoming level 54.

Thus the barrel of the Wings of Death was exchanged with a legendary-grade sniper rifle barrel which was obtained by an Onishi, and also additional parts, reducing its recoil on its shots by a lot.

However, the average gunner player would simply not be able to have such high strength and physical attributes as him.

For most snipers, it was almost absolute that the muzzle would be shifted by a little after a single shot.

And because of the damage system changes, it resulted in only the lethal shots being able to inflict huge damage.

This also required that most snipers would need to spend at least a second or more after the first shot to adjust the muzzle to ensure shooting accuracy.

So, in fact, after computing, this buff almost meant nothing (for ordinary sniper players).

Of course, there was no cooldown time.

If you were not pursuing high precision and treated the sniper rifle as a high power rifle, that would not be impossible as well.

But…

Don't forget that the guns in the game still had a property that would be neglected often, and that was the "overheating" of the barrel.

At present, the guns in the game, almost all of which were gunpowder weapons, and even if it was an energy weapon, it would have a heating effect.

The problem of the gun barrel overheating could naturally be neglected for low amounts of slow shooting, but under this large number of rapid shooting processes, it was a problem that should totally be considered.

Why was the explosiveness of a machine gunner so disgusting, but the throne of the game still belongs to a fire manipulator?

One important reason was that it is impossible for the machine gunners to keep firing.

At hundreds of rounds per second, even if it was a machine gun barrel, which was made of high-temperature resistant materials in the game, it would quickly become hot because the heat in continuous shooting would not dissipate quickly.

It was important to note here that the machine gunner in this update also removed their "forced cooling time."

Of course, for a machine gunner, this meant the cooling time between two loads (or a certain number of bullets), which was a full ten seconds (could be reduced by skill).

But now, this line had been removed.

Machine gunners could suddenly use their well-trained hand speeds due to their singlehood to attach the ammo chain in two to three seconds, and could even use the automatic ammunition supply equipment to continue shooting.

All of a sudden, it seemed, it could become the most enduring, most awesome, and the most violent profession in the whole game.

However, because there was a restriction on the firing barrel being overheated, it also did not upgrade by as much.

On the contrary, because of the damage of the ordinary parts being reduced and the damage limit of individual parts being included, the originally strong machine gunner in the PK, besides the sniper, took a huge nerf after this update.

Of course, the gunners were not only the ones who were nerfed.

The warriors were also affected by the update, as the settings for their defense equipment had also changed.

After this update, the warrior's defense equipment protection ability became an effective defense only on the covered areas, and it was no longer like the previous defense, which affected the whole body (but the defense coefficient was only for a single piece).

This had little effect on the heavy-duty fighters who were shrouded in tin.

But for light armored warriors, especially those female light armored warriors, then it would be a little lethal.

Imagine Phoenix with her previous set of "Red Lotus Set," which exposed a third of her body parts, that snow-white belly and thighs were completely exposed for others to attack.

Even if there was an injury cap, but once the continuous attack inflicted the "disability" effect, then it was completely doomed for her.

One would only fear that after this, the female light armor, which prioritized appearance but had average attributes that were sold at a high price, would have a huge decline in its price.

But maybe that would not be certain.

Because from Phoenix's modern "Phoenix suit" that could be switched between the two states…

The system had obviously taken into account that female warrior players who wanted to show off their figures but did not want it to affect their battles and gave them a solution.

In general, because of this kind of change, after this update, the player's body became much more "fragile" than before.

Predictably, in this case, a player was much more likely to die than before.

This was probably why the system needed to adjust the experience needed to regain the levels lost after death.

Of course, in a sense, Feng Luo thought that all of these were in place to make the game more "realistic."

"Bang, bang, bang!"

Above the desert, the sound of gunfire continued!

Across a full seven or eight hundred meters, the bullets shot by the Wings of Death continuously hit the body of the moving Giant Sand Whale, which revealed itself, as it brought up a series of weakness damage values.

"-5055,-4956,-5023…"

Although, because the skin of this sand whale was thick enough, even if the bullets fired by the Wings of Death hit the body of the giant sand whale, they were unable to drill into fatal spots like its brain or even its heart.

But because its area was really big, with Feng Luo's marksmanship, in the absence of cooldown time restriction, and under the circumstances of not needing too much precision, in this distance, the gun was still able to inflict around five thousand damage.

This also made the absurd health points of the giant sand whale commander, constantly decline at a visible speed.

"Ang!"

It seemed to have finally felt the threat of the "mosquito" bites from Feng Luo.

Originally revealing its part of the head and approaching non-stop, the giant sand whale commander, after its health points dropped to around 70%, finally hid its body in the sand again.

Then, it quickly squeezed the sand in front of it and re-created a sand dune as it charged towards Feng Luo's position, all while hiding within the sand.

Chapter 689: The Counterattack of the Commander-Grade Monster!

"Bang, bang, bang…"

"-3445,-3355,-834…"

Because the sand whale dived into the sand again, with the blockage of the sand, the damage of Feng Luo instantly dropped a tier.

Even occasionally, the damage would be less than a thousand, this was obviously because due to the sand whale body being located below the sand, it was not easy to determine its specific position, resulting in the hotspots of the bullets being too near from the previous shot locations, and hence the damage was restricted.

Under such circumstances, the giant sand whale kept approaching this way.

When its blood volume dropped to about 50%, its distance from the sand dunes where the two energy SUVs were located was also closed into 500-plus meters.

This distance had entered the attack range of another gunner profession.

"Dadada!"

The tearing metal sound of a machine gun sounded.

Above the SUV driven by Rose Thorns, a pure black six-barrel machine gun fired at 50 percent of its shooting speed at the sand whale's position.

Dozens of rounds of bullets gathered into the bullet current every second as it directly hit the moving sand dunes on the ground that was 500 meters away. Suddenly, that dense hole that was approaching at high speed, and growing in size, in front of the sand dunes, shook out a meter-high of sand after being impacted by the bullets.

The bullets of the machine gun had run through the loose sand and were continuously hitting the giant sand whale below.

"-344,-355,-466,-354…"

A series of damage values appeared directly on the projection screen of the legendary bracelet, where the health points of the commander-grade giant sand whale dropped by more than 5% per second.

Even if it was because of changes to the upper limit for the damages at the same position, it caused the gunner, under the circumstances of going all-out shooting, to waste a lot of bullets.

This made the machine gunner's damage to be extremely restricted as he would often choose not to shoot at full speed under several circumstances.

However, its explosive power was still very powerful.

"Yahoo! Oh, boy! Shooting at this target, which I do not have to worry about missing, and looking at the constantly refreshing damage values is too satisfying!"

On top of the energy SUV, when the machine gunner who was operating a six-barrel machine gun and firing saw this situation, his mouth could not help but shout with excitement.

"Dai, you have to be careful, don't be too complacent. This distance is not as far, so watch out for the monster's next counterattack!"

In the driving compartment, Rose Thorns, who was operating the SUV, gave the person on top a reminder.

"OK, rest assured, I will keep that in mind… Babe Rose!"

The machine gunner on top of the SUV replied, and even teased Rose Thorns a little, completely not worrying about Jiao Zong being jealous.

Of course, she did not need to worry.

Because this machine gunner was a chick, but also a black chick!

The Star Federation had three races, only the 17th Administrative Star is dominated by yellow people, but it did not lack black and white people. For example, Sister Rui had the traits of a white person.

And this machine gunner, who was called Dai, was a black person.

However, it was not the kind of carbon-like black but was slightly more black than the bronze-colored skin of Rose Thorns.

Of course, with her rounder face shape and her iconic thick lips, she was very similar to the black people on Earth, from Feng Luo's memory.

Dai was also a Nightless City employee and was a gold medal coach of the fitness club like Rose Thorns, but on usual days she would have a fixed party with her boyfriend, but this time she was pulled into this by Rose Thorns.

It had to be said that within the game, female machine gunners and female heavy armored warriors were very rare.

Thorn Rose and Dai both intentionally chose these two violent professions, and could absolutely be called as the female heroes.

And as Little Witch wanted to help Mu Wu, hence the party had four slots.

After considering, Feng Luo chose to let all the remaining slots to be filled up by the Nightless City members.

In this case, because they were familiar people, hence it would be easier to team up with them.

Dai's boyfriend was also pulled in. He had a slightly thin body but had a handsome face, and he was a fire manipulator, his ID being "Burn and Run," topping up on the position that was left behind by Little Witch.

The other two were warrior players, one heavy armored warrior with his ID called "Qian Jin Ding," and the other slightly frivolous light armored warrior with his ID called "a column to the sky."

Four warriors, three gunners, two manipulators, and one doctor.

This full professions combination was very reasonable, as it could be said to be able to handle most of the game situations.

In particular, in order to ensure the success of this mission, the group of people all had rare equipment, their combat effectiveness would naturally be far from an ordinary player squad.

If not, the average team of ten people would definitely retreat after discovering that this commander-grade monster was actually reaching level 70.

After all, this level being displayed there was already scary.

With Dai's addition, the legendary bracelet projection of the commander-grade sand whale's health points could be seen to be rapidly declining, as it quickly dropped to less than 30% of its total.

According to this speed, it was impossible to get near the team, before being killed by Feng Luo and Dai's high output damage.

However, although it seemed to be very smooth and successful.

But instead of being very relaxed, all of them were still prepared with energy converters with ammunition loaded.

Even the two energy SUVs, which were originally not far away, had moved in two directions apart from each other above the sand dunes, pulling the distance between each other apart.

In this way, in theory, even if the sand whale counterattacked, it was impossible to interrupt the output of both SUVs at the same time.

In the face of a commander-grade monster, which was higher than level 50, until the last minute, they absolutely could not be too complacent. This was the experience gained from everyone from their previous dangerous encounters in the past three days.

This matter had also proved that this concept was correct.

After being attacked with two guns in a row along the way, its health points dropped to only a quarter of its total.

The distance between the sand whale and the two SUVs here was finally brought closer into 300 meters.

And then…

"Boom!"

The huge body of the sand whale suddenly emerged from the sand again.

However, unlike the previous time, this time, it drilled out from the ground with large amounts of sand emerging out around it.

And above the head was the sand dunes, which were more than fifteen meters high because of the accumulation of the sand along the way.

And then, this large area of sand, along with the sand dunes, flew over through the sky.

Yes, it covered the sky.

This scene was hard to describe.

One could only use this slightly exaggerated phrase.

Although it was a bit of an exaggeration, it was true that this giant sand whale's attack had an impressive momentum.

You must know, it was a sand dune, and there was a lot of sand. Although it was only a small sand dune, its volume was not lower than a thousand cubic at this height and diameter.

Imagine this, a scene of a thousand cubic sand going to run over your head.

Moreover, that sand dune, perhaps due to its bottom being extruded, the original loose sand flying in the air did not completely dissipate but instead continued to fly over in its sand dune shape.

Feng Luo suddenly thought of the phrase "Mount Taishan."

Compared with this sand that covers the sky, the Earth Manipulator's ultimate "Heavenly Meteorite Drop" felt like child's play.

"Hide! Mu Zi, quickly hide!"

At this unseen moment, Jiao Zong, being an Earth manipulator, who was beside Feng Luo, was already having a head full of sweat as he shouted loudly towards Mu Zi, who was driving the SUV.

Chapter 690: Bearing of a Sand Dune, Impact of a Flesh Bullet!

Of course, there was no need for Chairman Jiao to say it.

In truth, when the Sand Whale charged towards this location, the engine of the SUV had been rotating at high-speed, and Mu Zi's hands had always remained on the control platform.

Although the Sand Whale's attack was quite unexpected, it was not to the extent where it caught them off guard.

When the sand dune lifted off into the air, Mu Zi had already accelerated the energy SUV to its maximum speed and was driving sideways from the large sand dune!

As Mu Wu's "driver" in the game, Mu Zi had naturally learned transportation vehicle driving skills like Feng Luo. Moreover, since his familiarity level had already reached Expert Level 95% progress, under his full control…

"Boom!"

When the sand dune landed, the energy SUV brushed past the edge of the dune and charged out of the covered area by a hair's breadth!

Of course, even if that was the case after the thousand cubic meters sand dune landed, multiple "sand storms" erupted all around the sand dune immediately upon impact, and these storms still managed to reach the back of the SUV.

Sand particles flying at high speed and with great impact poured into the SUV through the SUV's sunroof and "drowned" the five people inside!

By the time the SUV got out of the area completely engulfed in the large yellow sandstorm, with their faces covered in dirt and sand…

"That was close! That was close!" Relying on the energy shield of the manipulator being activated at the crucial moment, Chairman Jiao, being the only one who did not have sand in his mouth, spoke, trembling.

If they were really directly struck by the sand dune, they might have become one of the first to experience an unprecedented way of dying in War – to be buried alive by the sand descending from the skies!

"Oh, crap! Rose!"

However, just after rejoicing, Chairman Jiao's expression took a drastic turn.

The reason was that the other vehicle that had traveled over a hundred meters, the energy SUV that Rose Thorns was driving, was also facing the same dangers.

Moreover, their situation was more precarious, and they had not yet escaped from danger!

After getting up and flipping the table before throwing the sand dune toward Feng Luo and the others' location, the sand whale did not forget the one who dealt a large amount of damage on it – Dai. So, it unexpectedly counterattacked both sides at the same time!

However, on its attack on the SUV that Dai was on, it did not throw a sand dune, it threw itself.

After throwing the sand dune and forcing the people on the two SUVs to stop their attacks and escape in a panic, the Sand Whale, which had reappeared leaped into the air directly, toward the SUV that Rose Thorns was driving.

300 meters. Even though this distance seemed quite far, it also depended on who was making the jump!

For a human, even a Light Armor Warrior in the Charge state would need to run for around ten seconds.

However, compared to the Sand Whale's 40-meter body, the length of 300 meters was simply around eight times its body length. This was not a distance that was difficult to overcome!

"Rumble!"

As such, when Feng Luo and the others with him in the SUV were faced with the "Bearing of Mount Taishan," Rose Thorns's group was facing the "Impact of a Flesh Bullet!"

If not for Rose Thorns' equally superb driving skills that allowed her to change the direction of the SUV in that extreme situation, the five of them inside that SUV would definitely have been punched into the sand by the absolutely humongous body of the Sand Whale!

However, even as her extreme control helped them avoid the body slam of the giant whale that spanned over a few dozen meters by just two to three meters, the crisis was not yet over!

After Sand Whale's hundred tonnes and over 40 meters long body flew over a few hundred meters and slammed heavily into the sand dune, a part of the sand dune crumbled and fell upon impact.

The SUV, which was still moving at high speed, also lost balance due to this and directly flipped and fell on the sandy slope!

At that moment, the crisis had undoubtedly reached its peak.

The Sand Whale had stunned itself considerably in this jump. In addition, its head was not in the same location or direction as Rose Thorns' SUV, which meant that it was not able to immediately open its gigantic mouth to devour the energy SUV along with the people inside.

However, this would not last long. In just a few seconds, it would definitely be able to react and kill the five people stuck inside the SUV and were not able to get away in time!

There was no need to doubt the attack power of a Level 70 Commander Grade monster. Even though it was not a Quasi Boss monster, its level was just that much higher than normal monsters!

That was why Chairman Jiao shouted in panic when he saw this scene.

"Hurry up! Kill that 'Boss!' Its HP is already lower than 20% now!"

Compared to Chairman Jiao, the person who had regained his senses – Mu Zi, was a bit more clear-headed.

He ignored the mess around him and the pain he felt after sand got into his eyes and grabbed the loaded submachine gun beside him. Then, he aimed at the Sand Whale and pulled the trigger!

"Ta, ta, ta…"

The submachine gun fired a barrage of bullets that hit the body of the Sand Whale located only around 100 meters away from him. A bunch of damage numbers appeared.

"-506, -515, -497, -526…"

A bunch of damage numbers appeared and continued lowering the HP line of the giant Sand Whale, which was already low!

"Oh! That's right! Skills!" Chairman Jiao finally got himself back together amid his worry and panic.

He raised the energy converter he was holding, and a yellow light flashed.

"Earth Wall!"

Earth Manipulators' basic skills did not have high damage output, so in this situation, he did not bother using the single damage energy guidance skills.

He decided to create an Earth Energy Wall directly between the Sand Whale and the SUV that Rose Thorns and the others were in. At least this way, it could slow down the Sand Whale a little!

"Vuong!"

A yellow light flashed beside the area where the Sand Whale landed… However, no Earth Wall appeared!

The skill was unsuccessful!

Chairman Jiao was shell-shocked. After that, he grimaced and smacked his energy converter before saying, "Damn it! The casting actually failed in a crucial moment like this!"

After the latest update, warriors and gunners experienced some changes, and naturally, manipulators were not excluded.

For manipulators, the change this time was also quite considerable. And the change was "increased difficulty of releasing skills!"

When manipulators fought, they actually received a lot more visual hints compared to other players. These hints were provided by a biological lens injected inside their eyes that was connected to their energy converters!

As such, they could accurately attack targets that were 200 to 300 meters away, even without a sniping scope!

Apart from that, manipulators' skills were actually constructs of the "Energy Mode."

And this process was originally all completed by the energy converter automatically.

Even if it were a guidance skill, as long as the casting was not interrupted halfway, the skill would be successful after release.

However, in the most recent update, the system put a restraint on the hints and removed some of the information that provided the players with calculation results.

Apart from that, manipulators' skill casting could now "fail!"

Chapter 691: Manipulator Skill Change

Skills casting could fail. This was a big change for manipulators!

Moreover, this was a lot worse than the change for gunners and warriors.

The reason was that manipulators' damage mainly came from bonus energy damage. Also, many of them were in the area of effect attacks. As such, the appearance of the single unit damage cap affected them the least!

However, the change which made it possible for skill casting to fail was life-changing to manipulators!

Now, manipulators' skills could fail in two ways.

The first was from interference between energies!

When two manipulators project and construct the energy models of their skills to the same area or location, an interaction between the two types of energies may occur, and these interactions could cause one or both skills to fail!

Normally, this would be fine, but if it were against a Boss monster, the impact would be huge.

Before the update, a Boss raid would often have the gunners and manipulators piling damage on the boss monster at long-range while the warrior players tried to keep the monster in check and provide cover and protection to the long-ranged attackers.

However, gunners' firing angles could easily be blocked by the warriors standing in front of them. In addition, Boss monsters were incredibly perceptive of high damage attacks, so after being attacked, they would almost immediately discover the source of the attack. Moreover, Boss monsters typically have a large attack range!

As such, even Snipers faced the very real danger of being taken out by the Boss monster after firing a shot.

On the other hand, since manipulators could project their high-damage skills in the sky or perhaps to a location far from them, the Boss monster would not be able to lock onto its real target instantly. This meant that manipulators faced a lot less danger when fighting Boss monsters, and they were also not as constrained by the terrain.

That was why manipulators had always been one of the main damage outputs during Boss raids, and as such, they were a slightly more coveted profession as compared to the other two professions.

However, this change had undoubtedly affected a manipulators' ability to damage Boss monsters along with its role of being the absolute best in damaging Boss monsters.

The interference between skills would also increase the difficulty of teamwork between players if the number of manipulators exceeded a certain number.

Clearly, this meant that a huge opportunity had opened up for the gunner profession!

Apart from the interference, a manipulator's skill casting would fail if the player him or herself lacked concentration.

Yes, concentration!

This was a change that made a lot of people complain. Before the change, to cast a skill, players only needed to click on the skill icon on their energy converter and then quickly confirm a few simple parameters before the system automatically completed the rest of the casting procedure!

However, right now, when the system completed the casting and guidance procedure, it would specifically measure and judge the manipulator's concentration level.

If the manipulator's concentration was not focused enough, the skill casting could also fail!

The change was super annoying to the players. After all, who could guarantee a 100% concentration level throughout the skill casting process? In particular, since the system also removed several hints, the number of parameters the players needed to consider had substantially increased!

That meant that the players needed to focus and consider the other more complex parameters associated with their skill casting. It was simply making life difficult for the players!

However, one sentence from the game officials made the countless manipulators who had been complaining and cursing about the change to simply shut up and accept the change.

And that was that the complex combat method was beneficial to the stimulation of the human body. In particular, it was especially helpful when it came to "evolving" the brain domain.

Evolution!

With just this one sentence, War had directly shut the mouth of all the manipulator players complaining about this recent change in War that brought about so much discontent!

However, the funny thing was that this change, the one related to the manipulator, after the explanation, had caused the players of the other two professions to be discontent.

'Why did the manipulators receive this forced "evolution" improvement? That is not acceptable! We also want these sorts of changes that increase the difficulty of battle!'

This seemed rather funny, but if one were to really think about it, it was actually quite logical and normal.

In the foreseeable age of universal evolution, the competition between humans would no longer be like the current era. For example, people comparing the grades of their gears or the credits they possessed. Instead, they would maybe be comparing their evolution progress displayed on their game capsule?

Maybe this might even be extended to the real world!

In the age of universal change, no one would want to be behind someone else.

As such, the warrior and gunner professions were unhappy and wanted an increase in difficulty.

In this situation, the typically cold Star Gaming game officials finally made a press statement to explain the situation!

The combat method and setting of the manipulator profession would mainly evolve the brain domain while the warrior profession focused on the physical aspect. Gunners, on the other hand, was a hybrid between the two.

The skills and combat methods of all three types of professions were beneficial to the stimulation of their real-life body. And there was no such thing as an advantage over the other!

Moreover, in the future, the multi-profession system would also become available, and no one profession should be worried about anything.

However, if they were really impatient and could no longer wait, they could change their profession. Every player received three chances to change their profession without the need to undergo the profession change mission after the update.

Moreover, after changing their profession, the profession skills and familiarity levels would be preserved. In addition, they could also change back!

After this announcement was made, the complaining players finally quieted down.

Feng Luo's attention was, however, focused on the "multi-profession system" phrase!

It was clear that just like what he had guessed, the second profession was not something exclusive to the Special Agent profession.

Just like how the Force Guidance Chip function was now existent on every players' stats panel!

On this, it seemed kind of unfair to them, the Special Agents who were a hidden profession, Big Pineapple even complained to Feng Luo specifically about this through the comms device once!

However, Feng Luo was not very bothered by this.

This was because, in War, there was no real hidden profession in the game, and no player had truly surpassed all other players.

The only real thing that existed was being faster than the rest of the players and the advantage of getting there fast!

Just like the special agent, even though the other players would also get the "double profession" in the future, the special agent players would have already received their third or maybe fourth profession by then. Perhaps they might have even received a real "Universal Profession" that Haruko mentioned once before.

Moreover, Feng Luo understood clearly that the biggest advantage of the Special Agent profession was not that they received a second profession.

Instead, they were the special agent warehouse, a place where they could obtain all kinds of rare items, and the special agent missions, which gave them the chance to earn a huge amount of special agent points!

Who knew when the next mission would be?

Would they have a chance to get the A-Rank Authorization needed for them to get the "Third Profession Chip?"

Chapter 692: Might of Awakened Fatal Talent!

The scene returns to the battlefield!

Naturally, since Chairman Jiao's skill failed, the already dangerous situation did not improve at all.

At that moment, the Sand Whale in front of them had come to its senses, and as expected, it immediately turned its head around and quickly prepared to turn its body to devour the SUV beside it!

The Danger Level of the crisis had reached its peak!

Although Mu Zi continued to shoot, the Sand Whale Commander still had over 10 percent of its HP remaining. With the HP bonus added to its 500,000 HP, a dozen or so HP was still over 10,000!

With Mu Zi's attack strength, there was simply no way that he would be able to kill the giant Sand Whale in just a few seconds.

And among the five players riding in their SUV, two were warrior-type players, which meant that there was not enough time for them to get to the others in time to protect them.

Moreover, even if they were to get there in time, it would still be useless.

The gigantic body of the Sand Whale would ultimately render the warriors' attacks useless. Even if an alloy sword were to strike its body successfully, the alloy sword would not be able to pierce through the Sand Whale's over two-meter-thick skin, and thus, not much damage would be dealt!

The only person who could inflict substantial damage to the whale was Feng Luo!

Like the others, Feng Luo's face was covered in dust. At that moment, he was already leaning on the roof of the SUV with Wings of Death, which was also covered in sand and dust, in his hand. Before one second had elapsed, he quickly aimed and pulled the trigger!

"Bang!"

A B-Grade Deflagration Armor-piercing Bullet flew out of the muzzle of Wings of Death.

Unlike before, this time, the Deflagration Armor-piercing Bullet that flew out of Wings of Death was covered in black that looked like it would absorb one's soul!

"Puff!"

The black bullet struck the giant Sand Whale within a second.

The spot that was hit by the bullet was the side of the Sand Whale's completely exposed head.

After hitting the target, unlike before where the bullethead would explode upon contact, a slight popping sound as if the bullet had just popped through a thin sheet of paper resounded in the air. It also left a tiny bullet hole on the skin of the Sand Whale.

However, after a few tenths of a second…

The giant mouth of the Sand Whale that stood over ten meters tall after it was opened wide to devour the energy SUV shook. Its entire head trembled as its body began to sway, while it let out an agonizing roar.

"Roar!"

"-23560!"

"-28000!"

A golden critical damage number of over 20,000 and a red fatal damage number of over 20,000 popped up above its head at the same time!

Both damage numbers exceeded 20,000, with one of them being critical damage!

Despite the damage dealt in the range of hundreds by the submachine guns, the two numbers were incredibly eye-catching!

The screen projection on the Scout Bracelet showed that the HP of the Sand Whale had gone from over 10 percent to just a tiny bit in an instant!

After roaring in anguish, the giant head of the Sand Whale fell on the ground heavily, slamming into the ground beside Rose Thorns' group's energy SUV.

Although it was not yet dead, it had already lost the strength to escape, not to mention devouring people!

Its HP was now below 5 percent, which meant Heavy Injury!

"Whoosh, whoosh."

"Ta, ta, ta."

Mu Zi and Chairman Jiao continued to attack with delight and surprise on their face. They quickly shaved off the Sand Whale's remaining HP of less than 20,000!

"Bang!"

"-5657!"

However, in comparison, the efficiency of a Sniper who did not have the Cooldown limitation was higher in a situation like this!

The Wings of Death released another shot!

[You've killed Sand Whale (Level 70, Solo Type Commander). Contribution: 70.4 percent. Obtained Experience: 7,049. Obtained Merit: 1]

The Sand Whale's HP reached zero. And the system notification of the kill appeared in front of every player.

Feng Luo's contribution exceeded 70 percent!

The significance of achieving a contribution of over 70 percent on a Level-70 gigantic Commander-grade monster that had 500,000 HP was huge.

However, the attention of the surrounding players including Dai and the others who finally crawled out of the turned-over SUV as well as the others on the other SUV—the two warriors who were halfway through their charge—and Chairman Jiao, who was already very well-acquainted with Feng Luo, was not on the dead Sand Whale at that moment. It was also not on the items that had dropped on the ground around the Sand Whale.

Instead, it was on the ridiculous amount of damage that Feng Luo inflicted just a while ago!

"One shot that dealt over 50,000 damage? Although it is also because there was critical damage, isn't that damage a little too insane?" Chairman Jiao couldn't help but exclaim.

"Brother Feng, my old pal, isn't your awakened talent a little too strong? It is without a doubt a God tier Talent made to fight bosses. Even a Machine Gunner's damage output cannot compare!"

Not only did Chairman Jiao but also the other players nodded in agreement after their initial shocked reaction.

In particular, for Dai and a few others, even though it was not the first time they saw Feng Luo deal with damage that ranged in the 10,000 within the past three days, a shot that dealt over 50,000 damage was definitely a first.

If they did not witness it with their own eyes, they would not have believed it was possible!

The Deflagration Armor-piercing Bullet, which came from Feng Luo's dual-damage shot just now, hit the Sand Whale's vital spot—the brain—thus triggering Wings of the Death's rare attribute, resulting in critical damage that was over 20,000.

The second damage, which was also higher, came from the awakened Fatal Talent.

The effect of the awakened Fatal Talent—instant death—was useless against non-Humanoid monsters above the Commander grade.

Instead, when a Fatal Damage was dealt, the damage dealt would be the equivalent to a certain percentage of the monster's HP!

Yes, that's right! A percentage of the monster's HP!

This attribute seemed ineffective when compared to the fantastic effect of Instant Death.

However, one should understand that the bonus damage of a Fatal Damage depended on the total HP of the targeted monster!

The Sand Whale had 500,000 HP in total. Even though the shot only gained a bonus that was just a little over 5 percent of the monster's HP, when it was converted into numbers, it was close to 30,000. In the end, it was even higher than Feng Luo's first hit, which dealt critical damage!

As Chairman Jiao mentioned earlier, this was a God tier talent when it came to fighting boss monsters!

For boss monsters whose HP were typically in the hundreds of thousands, 1 percent damage would already be quite remarkable!

Hence, Feng Luo was granted bonus damage of just 1 percent!

Although the system did not specify in the description of his awakened Fatal Talent the actual percentage bonus for when a Fatal Damage was inflicted, over the past two days, Feng Luo's tests had indicated that the base damage ratio on a Commander-grade monster was probably around 10 percent!

Apart from the base damage, other factors would also influence the final damage output. The factors include the residual momentum and force generated from the bullet, his level difference with the intended target, and the extent of damage and destruction dealt on the area hit by the shot. All these factors would significantly affect the final output.

For example, Feng Luo had an encounter with a Level-38 Commander-grade Desert Rock Lizard at the edge of the desert on the first day. Faced with this "Old Friend," Feng Luo broke the defense of the monster in his first shot. So his second shot that did not face any defense resistance, along with the output from Mu Zi and the others, had easily killed this low-level Commander-grade monster whose HP was only around 5,000 in one shot!

And the damage percentage of that shot reached a staggering 17 percent, and it was almost the same as Feng Luo's normal shot damage!

However, that was an exemption.

Under normal circumstances, it would be quite difficult to fire a shot that faced no resistance at all!

For example, on the second day, they encountered a Level-50 Desert Gale Wolf Commander that also had a bunch of minions!

This time, the Double Armor-piercing Bullet that Feng Luo unleashed only managed to inflict around 7 percent of the monster's HP in his shot that dealt a Fatal Damage. The bullet lost some strength due to the desert yellow fur and skin of the Gale Wolf, which was also protected by the leftover defense of a wind energy shield.

Moreover, since it was an energy-type monster, it only had around 30,000 HP. So the shot only dealt around 2,000 damage, and it was not as significant!

However, this time, the shot on the Level-70 Commander-grade Sand Whale only reached a meager 5.6 percent. Nonetheless, it satisfied Feng Luo greatly.

After all, the damage value neared 30,000!

Moreover, to achieve such a high bonus even when facing a Level-70 Commander-grade monster, the Fatal Talent's new property was a lot more useful than the 50 percent bonus damage on Weak Point damage!

Chapter 693: Delightful Surprise

Of course, one had to admit that, to a large extent, the reason for the incredibly great damage was the amazingly powerful Psionic Energy Bonus Property—Destroy!

Under the effects of the Psionic Energy Bonus Property—Destroy, Feng Luo's Deflagration Armor-piercing Bullet did not weaken even a little bit when it was going through the five-meter-thick body of the gigantic Sand Whale!

As such, when the Deflagration Armor-piercing Bullet reached the Sand Whale's brain, the explosion caused a devastating effect!

And that was why the bonus of the shot was still so high, even when the level gap between Feng Luo and the Sand Whale was as high as 16 levels.

One could not deny the fact that the Psionic Energy Bonus Property—Destroy was a perfect match for a Sniper. It also combined perfectly with the new Fatal Talent.

If it were another Sniper player, even if the Sniper were equipped with a Legendary-grade Sniper rifle, it would be unlikely for the player to hit the vital spot of a gargantuan monster like the Sand Whale who was covered in thick layers of skin and flesh in one shot!

In cases like those, no matter how powerful the Fatal Talent was, its effect could never be felt, and it would be as if the player did not have any talent at all!

However, for the other players at the scene, they were not interested in how the shot managed to deal such high damage.

The only thing they cared about was that Feng Luo's damage in that one shot had exceeded 50,000!

50,000! There was no doubt that it was one of the highest damage dealt by a player in War at that moment.

Even if a common player were incredibly lucky and activated the critical hit that almost never appeared and could potentially increase one's damage by, at most, ten times, a 50,000 HP damage was still an incredible number!

"Oh my god!"

"You can become that strong after awakening the Force? That's crazy! What's gonna happen to us poor Machine Gunners?"

In particular, after hearing Chairman Jiao speak, Dai, the black woman, widened her eyes, while a very exaggerated self-loathing expression hung on her face.

As a Machine Gunner, she achieved a Kill Contribution of 15 percent, second to only Feng Luo.

However, even though she ranked second, the difference was too big.

One should know that she was a Machine Gunner. Since there weren't any manipulators attacking the monster just now, in theory, Machine Gunners were supposed to be the ones to top the damage output ranking!

"This…This strength is too debilitating!"

"That's why you guys should quickly find ways to activate your Force and quickly awaken it!"

Feng Luo shook his head and laughed.

He picked up Wings of Death and jumped off the roof of the energy SUV that he rode in and was now parked beside the corpse of the Sand Whale.

Although they were all acquaintances, the Psionic Energy Bonus Property – Destroy was a trump card that Feng Luo was not yet comfortable to disclose.

As such, Feng Luo did not explain in detail. Instead, he kept quiet and went with the flow, acknowledging that the high damage was due to the awakened Force.

However, he had mentioned to the others before about the new effect of the Fatal Talent after the awakening. So even though the others were surprised by the shot earlier, it was still within an acceptable range for a person who had awakened the Force!

They also knew that awakening the Force would also "awaken the Talent," and that the talent would become so insanely powerful!

On this, it made the others in the group so much more excited about awakening their Force!

After the system update, awakening the Force in the game had become a lot easier. The reason was that the game system had added a stat that was similar to the Force Guidance Chip.

As such, by undertaking various self-damaging experiments, many players had already found ways to help them awaken the Force.

On the first night after the update, one player even announced that he had succeeded in awakening a Force called Explosion.

And up until that point in time, the number of players who had awakened the Force and had revealed that fact on the forum in the entire game had exceeded 15.

Each of them gained a certain amount of fame and popularity!

However, the fastest person who succeeded in awakening the Force on the first night since the update did not manage to get the title of being the third person to awaken the Force in the game as he had hoped.

The reason was that just before he announced that he had awakened the Force, Phoenix—after the previous mission ended—had finally gone online.

She had already, in a very high-profile manner, announced that she had awakened the Force during the Ruin Exploration Mission back then and had claimed the seat as being "number three."

Moreover, since Phoenix also admitted to awakening the Force, people have suddenly begun to notice that among the five Special Agent players, two of them had actually claimed two spots among the top three in awakening the Force.

This led to the reignition of the debate and popularity of the already hotly discussed profession, the Special Agent. A lot of information and details concerning the profession were also dug out!

And for the ten players who managed to get into the top 15 and, as such, were automatically eligible to take part in the second Special Agent selection examination, they received multiple invites from various major guilds and financial conglomerates, along with all kinds of benefits!

As for the reason for all those? Naturally, it was self-explanatory.

The game officials announced that War could help a player's body in the real world "evolve," and the impact on the in-game environment was not as calm as the high-level map area that Feng Luo and the others were currently located in!

After realizing that War had a much more important position than first realized, many financial groups and conglomerates that had taken the stance of an onlooker before had all announced their decisions to enter the game.

In a short time, a lot of capital flowed into the game. The price of equipment and gears being sold at the Exchange doubled instantly, and some were even still climbing.

It was not only the value of items and equipment that were experiencing a surge; superstar players, as well as top-class players, were also experiencing a rise in their value!

At the moment, the popularity of superstar players in War had undoubtedly and completely surpassed the popularity of superstars in the real world.

The players seated at the top of the popularity ranking, along with the players who possessed incredible skills and strength, had also become the target of the newly injected capital of these various groups.

Using Feng Luo, who was still among the hottest search term at the moment, as an example, he had already received invitations from over a hundred financial groups and major guilds over the past three days.

From the "signing fee" alone, he would be able to get 10 million to 100 million Star Coins, as long as he agreed to join their guilds.

Some had even made proposals that directly appointed Feng Luo as the guild leader, in addition to supplying him with Legendary-grade equipment as well as the best resources the game had to offer!

In terms of these offers, Feng Luo did not look into them in detail. He simply left them in a corner of the message inbox of his comms device!

Maybe he would join a guild, but it would definitely not be a guild of these financial groups!

In addition, even if the guild or organization really did offer him 100 million Star Coins, would it be enough?

After the game officials announced this, the value of the three chips in Feng Luo's possession surged at a frightening pace!

If in the past, Feng Luo was still worried that the price of the boss-grade chip sold at an auction would not reach the 10 billion credits offered by Xiao Luo Shui, now he no longer had to worry anymore!

The only thing he needed to consider at the moment was the price of the chip at the end of the auction—just how much it would exceed 10 billion credits!

One should never underestimate the amount of financial capital possessed by the financial conglomerates in this incredibly wealthy Galactic Era!

"Ah, a flat tire!" said the Light Armored Warrior, One Pillar Skyward, who went to pick up items beside the Sand Whale's corpse, in a surprised and delighted tone.

"Although it has not yet been appraised, this should at least be Excellent grade. Considering the level gap between the monster and us, it's also possible for a Rare grade to drop," One Pillar Skyward said as he picked up the gunner glove-type equipment and raised it in the air.

The others agreed with him. "Yeah, in this current environment, this thing should be quite valuable!"

Although it was probably a Level-70 gear and, as such, similar to the item dropped by the earlier Elite-grade Lizard, which should not be usable at the current juncture, the grades of the two items were different.

No matter what the situation was, Excellent- and Rare-grade items always had a good-enough market value.

In particular, at that moment, vast amounts of capital were flowing into War, and as such, the price of high-grade gears experienced a more substantial price surge compared to the lower-grade ones.

Some guilds had even preemptively begun collecting these sorts of high-grade gears at that current moment before the price of these items soar so that they could prepare their Elite squads in advance.

That was why there was no need to question the value of this pair of gloves.

That meant that, at the very least, the cost of Feng Luo and Dai's ammunition for the battle could be recouped.

However, the item was actually not the main priority. The really useful items were the materials dropped by the Sand Whale.

On the ground beside the Sand Whale's corpse lay a black rock material about the size of a head that was emanating not only an odd stench but also a white glow.

[Ambergris (3,082 g)]

After being ignited, the generated smell will chase away almost all gregarious small-sized creatures living in the Death Desert. Its effect would weaken the creatures at or above the Commander grade, but the effect is useless against boss-type creatures!

Quality: Excellent

The item that was emanating a bad smell actually had a surprisingly "fragrant" name!

And the system's explanation regarding its uses gave everyone a delightful surprise. There was no doubt that the value of this item was above that of the gunner's glove and had a higher chance of being a piece of Rare-grade equipment!

In the desert, the largest threat was not actually gargantuan monsters like the Sand Whale; instead, it was the super small, or even microsized, monsters!

In a desert environment where food was scarce, the body size of monsters evolved towards being smaller in size, so large and gigantic monsters like the Sand Whale defied logic and were incredibly rare.

On the contrary, gregarious micro monsters were abundant, for example, ants, scorpions, and snakes.

These gregarious micro monsters would normally not have a high level. Moreover, since they were gregarious, their individual strength would also typically be weaker than a normal monster of the same level.

However, the real threat of these creatures was far higher than a Level-70 Commander-grade Sand Whale. It's because of their numbers, which were utterly ridiculous!

An example would be the Desert Fire Ants that Feng Luo once encountered in the Withered Desert.

Back then, over 150 players participated in the raid and consequent battle.

In the end, almost all of them were wiped out, and it was only an intermediate level nest!

The reason the group was wiped out was partly due to a few players who provoked a Commander-grade monster that subsequently evolved into a boss-grade monster because of the mission they were doing. And that was enough to prove that these low-level gregarious monsters were not to be trifled with.

And this time, their target was hidden deep within the more hazardous Death Desert. There was a high enough chance for them to encounter these gregarious monsters.

A simple party of just ten players was clearly not capable of fighting a horde of these gregarious monsters head-on. Even if it were a small-scale nest, they could only avoid it in advance after Mu Zi's Legendary-grade Recon Meter detected it!

However, even a Legendary-grade Recon Meter could not guarantee a 100 percent success rate.

In War, there were just too many monsters that had the ability to overcome the Recon Meter's detection ability.

A lot of times, by the time the Recon Meter discovered the monster's tracks, the players would have already been surrounded.

Therefore, players should not assume, even for a second, that they could ignore these small insect-type monsters since they have their energy SUV vehicles.

For example, the Desert Fire Ants' ability to fly so fast is comparable to that of a bullet fired from a gun. Also, when it comes to their incredibly destructive bite, even a Heavy Knight—who possesses armor comparable to that of tanks—would not be able to hold on for a very long time when surrounded by these ants!

However, this supposed huge problem of theirs had seemingly vanished into thin air thanks to this chunk of black material that smelled a little bit like that something!

This Sand Whale definitely contributed greatly!

After picking up and clearing the items dropped by the Sand Whale, the group waited for the combat status to end before bringing out two SUVs. Then, they continued driving towards their destination!

Chapter 694: Arrived, Desert City Ruins

Time: 19:00

Coordinates: Death Desert Depths (1,344, 3,894)

In a city ruin that was covered in yellow sand, the sun had set on the other side of the sky, leaving just a little bit of afterglow that left long after shadows of the sand-covered buildings in the city ruin. Some of the buildings looked worn out after being exposed to the elements for long periods of time.

"Vroom! Vroom!"

The shadows of two vehicles, two dust-covered SUVs, moved into the ruins, leaving dust in the wind. After that, both vehicles stopped at a certain location!

"Finally, we are here!"

"This should be the place, right?"

"Yeah, the rendezvous point mentioned in the chip is this place. According to the information stored by the NPC, this is a large base that the army back then built for the Zergs."

A simple conversation between the people inside the two SUVs could be heard.

"Military bases usually have decent things. However, we have no way of exploring it in our current condition."

Chairman Jiao looked around with a curious expression at first, but then a look of disappointment filled his face.

The place they were in was obviously in ruin. However, most of the place had been covered by the desert sand. Additionally, some of the exposed areas that weren't covered in sand had been badly damaged!

If they were to explore the place with just their squad, then they would need at least a few months to accomplish the task.

"So what should we do next? Did the system provide any hints?" the newly joined Fire Manipulator, Burnt, asked Mu Zi.

Mu Zi was the person who accepted this mission. And he also had more information compared to the others.

"No. We probably have to find that A-2 underground research base on our own."

Mu Zi got out of the energy SUV with his submachine gun in hand. He looked at the screen of his Scout Bracelet and shook his head.

The information chip obtained in the underground ruin did not indicate the specific position of the A-2 underground research base.

It only said that after they arrived at the location and after they explained their situation to the people at the military base, they would be led to the A-2 underground research base.

However, it was now clear that when the NPC left the recording in the information chip, he had not imagined that it would be decades later before anyone got their hands on the chip.

The military base that was supposed to be the rendezvous point had almost completely been devoured by the sands of the desert.

Of course, even though the NPC did not mention it, as players, each of the players from the group had already thought of this.

However, it did not affect their decision, and they still decided to get to this location.

The reason was that since the system had issued this mission, it meant that it could be completed.

Apart from that, to Feng Luo, this mission was not his main priority. His main priority was to find a way to heal 24K.

"There's actually no hint at all? The system should technically give some hints, no?" Burnt asked, puzzled.

At that moment, Mu Zi suddenly shouted, "Pay attention! Something appeared!"

The Legendary-grade Recon Meter in his hands quickly projected a screen in front of everyone.

On the projected screen, multiple yellow dots moving at high speed appeared!

Moreover, unlike normal movement, the group of white dots was not moving towards them from afar; instead, the group was moving from underneath them!

Mu Zi spoke clearly and concisely. "Monsters! Underground! Over there!"

When this happened, the submachine gun had already been raised to a height parallel to his chest, bullets loaded as he took a battle stance!

"Underground?"

Apart from Burnt, who reacted slightly slower than the rest, the other players had already quickly moved to bring out their weapons. Dai also turned the six-barreled machine gun towards that location.

The target displayed on the Recon Meter was a building that was almost completely covered in sands about a hundred meters away from them. Only the top part of the building remained above the sand.

After everyone made preparations quickly, the sand in front of the buried building that seemed ordinary suddenly burst into the air!

"Boom!"

An agile yellow figure flew out of the sand like a cannonball!

It was a small monster with amazing mobility.

It had a tiny black crescent-shaped ear and large eye sockets with black rims. The nose was conical and brown, and the creature's body was covered in yellow fur that camouflaged it nicely amidst the yellow sand. It looked like a combination of a rabbit and a fox!

[Mutant Meerkat. Base Level: 55. HP: 9,600. Gregarious. A normal group contains around 30 to 100 units. Naturally brutal, aggressive.]

The screen of the Legendary-grade Recon Meter quickly displayed the information of the cute-looking monster to everyone.

As a creature with a base level of only 55, a single Mutant Meerkat was definitely considered weak in this kind of environment, where the average level for monsters was 70 and above.

However, as a gregarious-type monster, their numbers could definitely make up for their individual weakness.

As long as they charged as a group, even some Elite-grade Level-70 monsters in this area would become prey for these meerkats!

And this time, they had obviously chosen Feng Luo's group who had just stepped into their domain as their prey.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

One after another, Mutant Meerkats charged out from under the sand in front of the battered and worn-out building. After that, they started moving towards the Nightless City Club group.

"Bang!"

"-12260!"

However, the meerkats who had become used to being the boss around the area had clearly met their match today!

The first Mutant Meerkat that surfaced was already close to Feng Luo's group. It looked fierce and menacing as it closed in.

As it moved at high speed, it was struck directly by a Sniper bullet. Then, it exploded, and blood splattered on the ground. Its body was turned into mincemeat!

Since after the update, the damage of the last hit could exceed the remaining HP of the target, Feng Luo's shot actually dealt a damage number that was higher than that of the meerkat's total HP!

"Ta, ta, ta!"

Submachine gun rounds also rang in the air.

A series of bullets hit the Mutant Meerkat's body, and the supposed agile footsteps of the meerkat suddenly twitched as if it was dancing.

"Boom!"

A firewall appeared from thin air and ignited the skin and fur of a few Mutant Meerkats that were not able to rein in their charge. In an instant, the smell of roasted meat also filled the air!

"Ta, ta, ta!"

The last sound to appear was the sound of machinegun fire, and it also announced the fate of these Mutant Meerkats!

The battle did not last very long. After around a minute, no more white dots were moving upwards on the display of the Recon Meter.

Instead, a few of the white dots that were halfway through their journey to the surface suddenly turned around to move quickly back underground, to a zone that was so deep that the Recon Meter could not detect due to the terrain.

One Pillar Skyward, assigned to pick up items, shook off the blood on his sword and said with a smile, "Ha! These monsters don't have high HP, but the things they drop are quite nice. Some of them actually dropped silver crystals. If we just consider the materials, that's at least 5,000 to 6,000 credits right there."

"But these little bastards' attack power ain't that weak. Moreover, they move very quickly! It was a good thing that Mu Zi's Recon Meter warned us in advance. Otherwise, we might have lost someone," said the panting Fire Manipulator, Burnt, with lingering fear while he was being treated by Little Snow after three Mutant Meerkats closed in on him earlier and attacked him, making him lose his energy shield and half of his HP.

In the depths of the Death Desert, no monster could be called ordinary.

Do not be tricked by the seemingly casual and relaxed atmosphere earlier. The place was really quite dangerous!

Mu Zi looked at the Recon Meter. After confirming that there weren't any monsters coming up, he turned around and noticed Feng Luo gazing at the almost completely buried building where the Mutant Meerkats appeared earlier. It looked like Feng Luo was thinking about something.

"Brother Feng, what are you thinking?"

Chapter 695: Unknown Hazard!

Feng Luo pointed to the building covered in sand and said, "I've been thinking… That is probably the system's hint!"

Burnt And Run looked puzzled and asked, "Huh? That's the hint?"

Feng Luo nodded.

"The display on the recon meter showed that the monsters were not moving in a straight line or a curved line. Instead, they were moving polygonally in some of the areas. It looked as if they were moving upwards through something that might be staircases or something of that sort!"

"The recon meter's ruler also noted that they were located at a depth of 30 meters. This has already exceeded the theoretical height of the sand dune!"

Chairman Jiao's eyes lit up. "Brother Feng, what do you mean?"

Feng Luo then explained the reason he made that judgment.

"A military base would never consist only of a surface base. Most military bases would have constructed an underground section. Actually, due to safety reasons, the underground structures are usually a lot more important than the surface ones, and they are usually harder to damage or destroy!"

"Our mission is to find the A-2 research base, which is also an underground research base!"

"So that's how it is!"

The group understood what Feng Luo had meant.

Then, Burnt And Run asked with a puzzled face, "But Brother Feng, how do you know the height from the surface? Why did you say that the monsters have retreated to a location that is lower than the surface?"

Feng Luo answered, "The reason the large sand dune around us formed is probably due to the walls around the military base blocking the movement of the sand. Using the elevation that we experienced earlier, we can get a rough estimate of the position of the original surface military base!"

"Then, simply by comparing it with the info on the recon meter, you'll be able to get the answer!"

"Ah, this sounds very simple, but who'd pay attention to these things in a battle? Brother Feng, were you actually thinking about these things just now?"

Burnt And Run was now feeling convinced and utterly impressed.

Feng Luo shook his head and laughed gently. Then, he looked around the others and said, "Perhaps it is due to the 'evolution'!'"

"The lower levels of that building should be connected to the underground base of the military base. We should be able to find things related to the A-2 research base inside."

"That is why my suggestion is to go underground using that building first!"

No one objected to Feng Luo's suggestion.

Everyone felt that Feng Luo's deduction was very logical and made sense.

However, by the time they reached the front of that building, they were faced with another problem.

Although the building was not completely buried, it was still filled with sand.

If they wanted to enter, they had to get all the sand out from the building by digging their way through.

It was an incredibly annoying task. The group spent over a dozen minutes working on it but did not even finish three meters!

Rose Thorns opened her mouth and said, "Let's get our pets to help too!"

"Ah, that's right! We almost forgot about that!"

Everyone seemed quite speechless. They were baffled as to why they had not thought of that earlier.

The battles over the past few days had been against really high-level monsters. As such, pets would have easily died.

Moreover, the game system changed the setting such that players weren't able to summon or retrieve pets when they were in combat mode. As a result, none of them summoned their pets to fight in the battles.

However, they were not engaged in a battle right now. They were just digging through sand, and pets were naturally wonderful free labor!

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…"

White lights kept flashing as seven different pets appeared on the sand dune!

There were only two among them who did not summon their pets. One of them did not do so since the pet was too small and was not suited to doing this kind of work.

The other person was Feng Luo.

24K was still unconscious. Otherwise, summoning Collector Beetle Unify would make this task easy. It would need at most a minute to get through this pile of sand.

However, one of the pets that were summoned was also adept at digging holes through sand.

Dai's pet was, in fact, a snake. Its skin color was almost the same as the sand. It was a Desert Golden Rattlesnake over seven meters long!

Feng Luo was quite familiar with this type of snake. The reason was during the battle in the arena where Phoenix, Big Pineapple "Three Black," and himself battled against five others, one of the pets summoned by their opponents was a Desert Golden Rattlesnake!

However, that Desert Golden Rattlesnake was a Commander Grade pet while Dai's was only an Elite Grade pet!

The good thing was that an Elite Grade pet was sufficient.

With the addition of a creature local to the desert environment, the process of digging through the sand became a lot easier!

After half an hour, the group was already standing at the bottom level of the building. Under the illumination of some lighting devices, the group looked excitedly at a large corridor leading downwards!

"Brother Feng, color me impressed with your observation skills!"

Boss Feng was equipping armor. It was inevitable since he was too fat, and the hole they dug was not big enough. As such, he had to take off his armor before going through the hole.

The good thing was that the corridor was large enough. It was very tall and very wide.

The situation was just as Feng Luo had predicted. The bottom of the building was directly connected to the underground base. A hidden underground building like this would clearly not be much affected by the sand on the surface.

Everyone in the group could easily search for information regarding the position of the A-2 research base inside.

But of course, they had to solve a problem before this!

"Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak!"

One after another, Mutant Meerkats with orange eyes charged quickly in the dark underground corridor towards the group while letting out angry roars!

Of course, this group of Level-30 to Level-40 Mutant Meerkats, as well as some adolescent ones that were below Level-20, did not really pose a big threat to the group.

After getting rid of that tiny hurdle at the underground base, Feng Luo's group succeeded in entering the underground corridor of the military base.

At that moment, the sky outside turned completely dark.

Even though it was completely dark right now, the Death Desert did not lose any of its colors!

Since the Death Desert had a type of gravel that contained a special kind of mineral, the surface of the entire desert was emanating a light red glow that provided sight to various nocturnal creatures.

In the depths of the Death Desert, the surface temperature in the day could reach as high as 70 Celsius.

Even desert creatures that were incredibly heat resistant would find it hard to bear a temperature that high.

As such, most animals only start moving and hunting at night or in the evening.

Once Feng Luo and the others stepped foot into the base…

After a minute, a giant black-purple eagle that was over ten meters large when it extended its wings in the sky suddenly charged downward!

Its large wings generated a strong gust of wind that rattled the entire desert. The sand that was blown away revealed over a dozen or so of the Mutant Meerkats corpses. The corpses had blood stains which had been quickly dried by the incredibly high temperature.

After that, the eagle extended its long neck and devoured the corpses one by one.

If Mu Zi's recon meter was still in range at the moment, it would be frantically sending out warning signals. It would also show a red dot, which signified that a Boss grade monster had appeared.

Purple Blood Falcon. Level-70 Quasi Boss!

There was no doubt that the Quasi Boss eagle's plate would have ten more humans on it if Feng Luo's group had been one step slower in entering the underground corridor.

Although they could defeat a Level-70 Commander Grade monster, they would have no chance of winning a Quasi Boss monster, which was only a grade higher on the monster tier. That is even if they had a backup of ten more people.

Chapter 696: Underground City

"Bang!"

"-10022!"

"5550!"

A Double Armor-piercing Bullet covered in a layer of Psionic Energy spun at high speed and hit in between the red eyes of a Level-60 Commander Grade Mutant Rat about the size of a calf, puncturing through its skull and brain. Blood splattered into the air!

It had been over ten minutes since Feng Luo's group entered the underground zone of the military base.

The direct distance between their current position and the building that they first entered was less than 200 meters.

The reason they moved so slowly was that in addition to the surviving Mutant Meerkats that they had encountered in the corridor, they also encountered a horde of over 200 Mutant Rats in their current position!

It was clear that the underground part of the military base had become the nest of various desert creatures.

The good thing was that all the monsters had a concept of a domain.

And in 200 meters, even with a forked road in the middle, they had only encountered two waves of monsters.

"Boom!"

"-2845!"

With the strength generated from Charge, she leaped into the air and then descended. Using a thick alloy shield, she slammed into the Commander Grade Mutant Rat's almost broken head. Rose Thorns seized the opportunity and killed this low HP Level-60 Commander Grade monster that had amazing attack power!

The number of rats in this wave was higher than the number of Mutant Meerkats, and their base level exceeded Level-60.

The good thing was that their HP was not all that high – similar to the Mutant Meerkats. Moreover, like the Mutant Meerkats from the earlier battle, their attacks were pure physical attacks.

As such, in this relatively simpler underground corridor environment, the people from Nightless City Club had enough power to cover the entire area. Therefore, the wave did not deal too much damage to their team!

Of course, with numbers like this and monsters at that level, it was impossible for there to be no threat at all!

Based on Boss Feng's chest plate, which was seriously dented and bleeding profusely due to multiple scratches, and the large hole in Chairman Jiao's energy robe, one could tell that this battle was not as easy as the earlier battle!

Although they were gregarious monsters, the rats' level was quite high, which meant they were not easy to deal with.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak…"

The good thing was that after the Commander Grade monster died, the remaining 100 plus Mutant Rats immediately made an escape. They ran and disappeared in the various dark corridors in front of them!

Naturally, the group of players had no intention of giving chase!

Additionally, the items dropped by the Mutant Rats in this unexplored region were quite decent. After killing over a hundred rats, energy crystals worth tens of thousands of credits were dropped!

However, they did not know the location of the research base at that moment. So, consumable items like ammunition needed to be conserved as much as possible. They would avoid battles as much as possible!

Their target this time was not to farm monsters or to explore the region. It was to complete the mission!

"Mu Zi, how is it? Can it still be used?"

After half a minute, Chairman Jiao looked very expectant and asked Mu Zi. Mu Zi was standing beside a wall and had just disassembled the surface of the device. Then, he grabbed a storage and computation core chip from within. After that, he quickly placed the chip on a Chip Master reading device.

Now that there wasn't anyone in the base, did it mean that they could not read or obtain data inside the base?

For players who had special devices or instruments for ruin explorations, it was clearly not the case!

After killing the Mutant Rats, the group discovered that the location of the rats' nest had an intelligence terminal mounted on the wall.

A terminal like this typically stored data about the ruin. Occasionally, it would even have a structural map of the base!

As such, Mu Zi, who was a Chip Master, naturally started to act.

Mu Zi quickly clicked on something on the device. After looking at the details that were displayed on the screen, he looked delighted and said, "Yes, it is usable… Moreover, this terminal is probably a branch computer in the area. It actually has a structural map of the base!"

However, a few seconds after Mu Zi lowered his head to analyze the 3D structure of the underground base extracted from the device, his face became stiff. Then, he suddenly took a huge breath in!

"Hmm? Hold on… Tsk, no way!"

"What's wrong?"

The others were confused.

"Look at this!"

Mu Zi had a shocked expression. He immediately enlarged the image on the device and projected it in the air using his Scout Bracelet.

"Holy sh*t… No way!"

After looking at the enlarged image clearly, the others either took a deep breath or frowned.

The location of the A-2 research base could not be found from the map of the base obtained on the terminal!

Even though they failed to find the location of the target research base, the incredibly detailed structural image provided them a map of the entire underground base.

The most shocking thing was that…

"The radius is over 20 kilometers?"

After looking at the annotation on the structural image, everyone's immediate reaction was the same as Mu Zi's. They were dumbfounded.

The underground base actually had a radius of over 20km, and the widest area even exceeded 50km!

This was not an underground base!

It was an underground city. Moreover, it was an underground city that was bigger than an average city!

The area spanned over a thousand square kilometers, which was a size that was as big as second-tier cities in the game. It might even be larger than some of the more average second-tier cities, and might be closer to a first-tier main city.

It was hard to imagine that a mega underground city of such a size was actually inside the Death Desert.

Perhaps it was more accurate to say that the place was an underground ruin. Up till that moment, it was the largest underground ruin that anyone had ever seen!

"Phew! This ruin… If we could explore it, it'd be hard to imagine what kind of reward we'd be able to get!"

Dai's eyes widened as her breath seemed to quicken its pace.

"Not guaranteed!"

"A ruin's worth cannot be measured just by its size!"

"From the areas that we walked past earlier, we can see that there was not even one defensive combat machine. There won't be any valuable items – at least in this area!"

Rose Thorns shook her head and poured cold water on everyone else.

"Most importantly, this is a zone with high-level monsters. The difficulty of exploring this ruin would be ridiculously high at this current juncture!"

"Since the monsters' levels are too high, the items they drop would also not be usable… That is why even large guilds might not be willing to risk investing in exploring a high-level ruin like this. They'd probably wait until they are Level-60 or higher!"

Rose Thorns' words helped a few of the others regain their senses from the delight and surprise they gained when they discovered this "giant ruin."

It was true that this underground ruin was the largest they had ever seen. However, a large ruin did not mean that it was valuable.

Or perhaps, at the current moment, exploring a ruin like this would cost a lot of manpower and resources, and the investment might not be worth the return!

Only Feng Luo remained quiet and kept to himself, which is the second time that he did that by now.

The reason was that he began to ponder about something after glancing at the image which Mu Zi enlarged and projected.

He was in deep thought at first. But then, his gaze locked onto a region on the map as if he had discovered something that intrigued him greatly!

Chapter 697: Spaceship?!

"Eh? That's a little bit disappointing. Nevermind about whether it's good to explore it…"

"How are we going to find the position of that research base in the midst of such a large area if we don't have any clues?"

One Pillar Skyward looked disappointed and said with that a defeated tone.

His words explained why some of the others were frowning earlier.

It was clear that the A-2 research base was in an important zone which was highly confidential. That was why the location of the base was not directly shown on the structural image stored inside this intelligence terminal.

Due to a lack of intelligence, they did not have a clue at hand. In an underground city that was so frighteningly large, finding a research base that they have never seen before was almost an impossible task!

With only ten of them, merely walking over the entire area would probably take a few days.

Not to mention, a lot of the buildings inside this underground base had very complex structures. Based on the structural image, some of the buildings were thousands of meters deep!

Thousands of meters! What did this mean?

Moreover, though all members of the party were equipped with full sets of Rare Grade gears and were very well-prepared, they were very aware that their overall condition was poor.

With their strength, it was not possible for them to operate well in a high-level ruin like this for a very long time.

In the no-man desert zone, and after three days of consumption, their ability to sustain themselves had greatly diminished. Even if they were able to avoid some monsters with the effects of the Scout Bracelet, and even with Feng Luo on their team, which meant that they had the ability to defeat a Level-70 Commander Grade monster, just how long could their remaining supplies last?

The moment the gunners run out of ammunition, or the manipulators run out of MP, or the warriors run out of backup armor…

No matter how strong the team was, their only choice would be to retreat!

"What should we do?"

Everyone grimaced.

After all, they had toiled for a few days before reaching this destination.

In the end, they discovered that their current abilities were not enough to complete the mission!

They were both disappointed and frustrated!

Only Feng Luo, at the moment, was still staring at the map projected in the air. His eyes showed that he was in deep thought. In particular, his gaze fell on a specific location on the map a few times!

"Mu Zi… Can you zoom in over here?"

Feng Luo suddenly spoke to Mu Zi and pointed to a spot on the map.

"Oh… okay!"

Mu Zi was stunned for a brief moment. Then, he immediately lowered his head to control the device.

As Mu Zi worked on the device, the others looked over at it. Dai asked expectantly, "Brother Feng, did you discover something?"

He asked the question because Feng Luo was earlier able to determine through the recon meter image that a base existed during the battle. It convinced the rest of them about Feng Luo's observation skills.

And Feng Luo's current facial expression looked as if he had discovered something!

"I'm still not sure yet. Let's wait for Mu Zi to zoom in the image first."

Feng Luo did not answer with 100% conviction. He only kept staring at the map.

At that moment, Mu Zi had zoomed in on the zone that Feng Luo pointed at and the area covered the entire screen.

"Is that an intelligence terminal?"

At that point, the rest of the group looked at the screen with puzzled gazes.

They noticed that the area which Mu Zi zoomed in to was a fusiform building zone filled with buildings that had relatively simpler designs compared to the one they were in. The zone was around a five-kilometer straight-line distance away from their current position.

However, the building zone covered quite a large area.

From the map, the building zone covered an area that was around five-kilometers in diameter!

The structure of the underground city was different from the cities on the surface.

Since weight was a consideration, the buildings were not constructed together. Instead, they were scattered into several different zones.

And in between these different zones were various underground corridors similar to the one that they walked through.

The building zones varied in size. Some were big while others were tiny. However, this zone, which was named The Terminal, was the absolute largest zone around. Its diameter of five-kilometers means that it was one percent of the humongous underground city!

"Terminal? Looking at the structure and the name, it looks similar to a land route point terminal on the surface… Looking down at the map from a bird's eye view, this zone looks like it is directly or at least indirectly connected to its surrounding zones!"

"It looks like it is a transportation hub. Since it is related to almost every other zone, there should be a lot of clues in there… Brother Feng, do you think that we might be able to find information regarding the target research base in this terminal?"

Burnt And Run's eyes lit up as he asked.

"Not necessarily."

Feng Luo's reply brushed off his question. He then said, "Look over here. What is the shape of this zone? Also, what is the structure of the building?"

"Shape? Structure?"

The others turned to investigate the area on the map after hearing Feng Luo speak.

"Hold on… The shape of this zone… Why does it look a bit like a ship?"

Before long, Dai was the first to speak curiously.

"No… That's not a ship. There's no way a ship as big as that exists, right? Tsk… Holy crap, could this be a…"

One Pillar Skyward interrupted Dai. His eyes were filled with excitement and shock. He took a deep breath before finally saying, "Spaceship!"

"Oh my God!"

"Really!? It looks like it is!"

"I didn't notice it before, but upon closer inspection, it really does look like one. Moreover, the deepest area of the building structures in this zone goes a thousand meters deep! Even if it were an underground city, a building zone usually wouldn't have anything that was as deep!"

"A spaceship… This value… I can't even imagine it anymore!"

Everyone started to understand what this zone was.

After that, the initial defeated mood had turned into excitement.

A spaceship! This was a spaceship!

Space. That was the key!

War's current version was probably the version for Force awakening. This version was also the version after Level-50.

On the forum, there was a theory. It said that in the next update — or at least, the update after the next one — the game would welcome the space era.

After all, considering the background story of War, the people would charge out of the planet and into space one day, after technology has recovered to a certain degree.

From the background story, the inter-planet Sam Group would probably have a lot of parts to play!

Apart from the background, there was another piece of evidence. The evidence was the players had discovered that the highest level monsters on the planet were only Level-70!

So, where were the monsters that were of a higher level?

It was clear. They were in space. A case in point is when Feng Luo and the others viewed the extracted memories of the Cerebrate. They saw the gigantic galactic beasts that were larger than spaceships. Those were simply breath-taking!

However, this version probably still needed more time before activating those contents.

After all, players did not even have the Force yet. They would have no chance of defeating those mega monsters which were above Level-80!

However, even though the space version was not activated, it did not mean that a spaceship would be useless.

For example, among the NPC factions in the current War, only the rebel army and the Federation Government had the ability to build spaceships. Moreover, although these spaceships or spacecraft could fly in space, they had not yet made the crucial spatial transition technology possible, and the uses were limited.

The reason was that back in the day when the Sam Group retreated, they took away all data regarding this particular technology as well as the spaceships.

This was also the reason why the current game setting was limited to one planet!

Since the two strongest factions had limited spaceship construction capabilities, there was no need to consider the capabilities of other factions.

This meant that all NPC factions would desire a genuine spaceship!

So, if players, who were regarded by NPCs as adventurers, could discover a spaceship leftover by the Sam Group in the ruin and thereafter hand it over to the Federation Government or any other faction, their reward would be unbelievable, based on the principles of the rewarding system!

Legendary equipment, hidden occupations, and huge amount of credit points… All of these are at your fingertips.

Chapter 698: City Building

"Don't cheer too early! The map extracted from the terminal is just a structural image and not a realistic map."

"Even if it is a spaceship, it is still highly possible that it has been driven away by someone, and the only thing left is the launchpad!"

When he first thought that a spaceship was in the middle of the ruin, Feng Luo felt excited for a little while too, but he quickly realized this.

"That's right… How could we forget this?"

After Feng Luo's remark, everyone's excitement died down.

Indeed, the structural image may show that but, no one can guarantee that it has remained that way.

The spaceship might have already been driven away by the NPCs of the base, and the launchpad might be the only thing left.

The launchpad might even be gone too!

Who knew? It might have already been blown up to prevent the "rebels" from chasing them.

It was simply too early to be excited about it right now!

"We have to go and check it out!"

Everyone looked at one another and understood that they were all in agreement.

A spaceship that might exist is simply too meaningful for anyone, no matter the player.

If they could really confirm that a spaceship existed in the ruin… Then, even if they failed to find the A-2 research base and complete their mission, it would still be fine.

However, it is extremely difficult to get to the zone with the spaceship.

The distance between them and the zone with the spaceship was approximately five kilometers. However, if there were twists and turns along the way, the total distance they would have to travel is over ten kilometers!

With such a long distance, it was guaranteed that they would encounter a lot of monsters and it would be very dangerous. They will need at least a few hours to get there.

"Why don't we turn around and travel along the desert? Since we already know the position of the spaceship, we will only need to drive the SUV for half an hour before getting there!" Burnt and Run suggested.

"We can't do that. The clock has just struck midnight. It is the peak period for creatures in the Death Desert to come out and forage for food. Moreover, the SUV causes too much of a commotion, the noise it generates might attract a lot of monsters in the surrounding area!"

"However, many of the monsters underground would have surfaced at this time, and the number of monsters down there should be lower compared to that during the day. So, going there through the underground route should be even safer than from above!"

Feng Luo shook his head as he answered.

"Brother Feng is right. Although we may not be able to see well underground, with Mu Zi's Legendary-Grade recon meter, detecting the monsters in advance won't be as hard. Moreover, in an environment like this where there are so many corridors, there's a lower chance for us to encounter monsters."

Mu Zi nodded in agreement.

"That's right, as long as we don't encounter a boss monster, we will be alright as we can still fight a Level-70 Commander-Grade monster… The only thing we need to worry about is encountering a horde of gregarious monsters. Actually, we should be able to handle that too… We still have the Ambergris, the rare material dropped by the Sand Whale Commander earlier on."

Rose Thorns said as they raised their shields.

"That's right, the Ambergris is able to chase away all the gregarious monsters living in the desert, right? I almost forgot about it!"

Hearing Rose Thorns' words, Dai immediately remembered, evident from his facial expression.

The main reason being the name, Ambergris. [1]

However, its smell was really very "special". She smelled it once before and that was more than enough! She did not want to be reminded of that smell ever again!

"Why don't we vote? Should we head towards the zone with the spaceship right now?" Feng Luo asked as he looked at the others.

The results? It was a unanimous decision to go there right now!

Inspired by what One Pillar Skyward once said, they had to at least go there and take a look. To see if there really is a spaceship in the zone…

In the dark, underground corridor, the group slowly moved forward towards the zone with Terminal using his tools to illuminate their surroundings, allowing them to see where they were going better.

Holding Wings of Death, Feng Luo walked in the middle of the group. His incredibly sharp eyes took in everything around him. He remained on high alert in case any monsters that had the ability to hide from Scouts' detection ability decided to ambush them.

At the same time, his mind was racing with many thoughts and worries.

Perhaps with the help of the NPC's army, we might be able to completely explore this ruin.

At the same time, if we do this correctly, we might even be allowed to complete another important task together!

Maybe we will even get to build a city by ourselves!

As for Mu Zi and the others, after seeing the markings on the map that indicated the area of the ruins with the spaceship, the first thing they thought of was to explore this remarkable underground ruin and obtain all the treasures hidden in it!

If it were the old Feng Luo, he might have had the same thoughts as Mu Zi and the others!

However, after he saw the map earlier on, a different thought filled his mind.

Could he use this underground ruin to build a city?

The reason Feng Luo thought of this?

Even though he is still a solo player, he is also the boss of Nightless City!

The handover agreement by the big boss was already in effect and now, the entire Nightless City belonged to Mu Wu and him.

After discussing with Mu Wu, the two of them decided that Nightless City would become independent and eventually break out of Lu Conglomerate City in a few days.

Naturally, Nightless City Club would also exit Lu Conglomerate City in the game!

However, after they moved out of Lu Conglomerate City, where would Nightless City's base be?

This was certainly going to be problematic.

At first, Mu Wu wanted to base it in Storm City. They would wait a while and when Nightless City had enough funds, they would build their own guild base just like Lu Conglomerate City!

Mu Wu looked quite confident about this plan!

Feng Luo had initially agreed to this plan.

However, when he saw the underground city map, even before he noticed the existence of the spaceship, Feng Luo felt that the ruin would actually be a nice place to build their city!

Building a city on top of a ruin would definitely reduce the amount of capital they would need to build the base of their guild. Moreover, they would be able to build the city a lot faster.

Although it is an underground ruin, it was wide enough. It was even comparable to the size of a second-tier city and only a little bit smaller than Storm City — a main city!

Since it will be a military base, building a city there would mean that they would not need to worry about defense or expansion issues in the future!

On top of that, the ruin was located in the depths of Death Desert, a zone with the highest-level monsters, its future potential is fairly good too.

Transportation in war will be quite convenient and there is no monster density requirement in the surrounding area when players decide to build a city. However, since Boss monsters are too powerful, building a city in an area with high monster density might also mean it could be destroyed in an instant.

Nonetheless, the higher the risk, the higher the return!

One should know that even though the game had many high-level maps containing Level 50 to 60 monsters, top-level maps that contained many Level-70 monsters were certainly much rarer.

Players' average levels are still low right now so the demand for Level-70 maps is still low. Nonetheless, it is evident that with the introduction of the Force, players' levels will naturally increase. Before long, these Level-70 maps will quickly become important resources that would be in high demand but are of low supply!

If Nightless City Club could initiate building a city there, they will naturally get a head start in occupying top-level maps.

[1] In Mandarin, the term for Ambergris has the word that means fragrant. This is why the author says that the name "Ambergris" implies that it smells nice.

Chapter 699: Arrived, Terminal

Of course, if they wanted to build a city here, there would be problems!

The first problem would be the one mentioned by Rose Thorns; exploring a ruin like this will fully require too much capital for the time being!

This was a zone with at least a few thousand square kilometers, 20 times larger than Lu Conglomerate City. Moreover, it has a section on the surface and underground!

More importantly, for players on the current stage, the level of the monsters in this place is simply too high!

A gap of over 20 levels. If they were to forcefully explore this area, the death rate was bound to be frighteningly high!

Moreover, Nightless City Club had too little players. It was impossible for them to succeed in exploring the place. But if they were to hire outsiders like Lu Conglomerate City, the price to pay at their current stage is just too high.

Although they could choose a smaller zone to build their city in the beginning, an area that was not registered into the system will still continue to spawn monsters.

Normal monsters were fine but if the surroundings of the city had a few nests of Level-70 boss monsters, the problem would be huge!

If they did not deal with the top-notch boss monster, it would pose a huge risk to the city in the future.

And if they were to deal with it, with the players' equipment and levels at this stage, they would need at least 10,000 players. And the key issue was that even if they did manage to kill the boss monster, it would simply just respawn.

There were many other issues they would face for building their city in the middle of the desert, a clear disadvantage for them.

A few of which are temperature and transportation uncertainties, and whether NPCs were willing to enter was another huge problem… Apart from those, water sources will be one of the greatest problems they will face for building their city in the desert.

In the game, whether they were a player or an NPC, they needed to eat and drink to maintain their stamina. A city with millions of people staying in it will need shockingly large amounts of water. Therefore, a city in the middle of the desert would definitely make it difficult to provide such amounts of water!

Furthermore, even though this place was in the "depths" of Death Desert, this so-called "depths" was only relative to the Storm City's position on one side only.

If the other side of Death Desert where Death Forest was located was considered, the distance from the place to the edge of the desert is only around a hundred miles!

Another thing that needed to be mentioned is that Death Forest is no longer the largest forest on the planet. Instead, it is now only a small fraction left of its original size after the war – it is not even one-tenth of its original size.

Nonetheless, despite the fact that it is now only one-tenth of its original size, it is still considered a fairly large subtropical forest.

Similar to Death Desert, the area around it is categorized as maps with high-level monsters with levels 70 and above. Moreover, since the forest is in a location suited for many species, the monster density and variety of species in Death Forest is a lot higher than that in Death Desert!

However, this will not affect our plans for building the city.

After all, the city building is already within a high-level map, adding a few more monsters will not have much effect.

One factor that will greatly affect the building of the city is the non-governmental NPC armed faction called the Freedom Flag which controls the main domain of Death Forest!

Although that organization did not have the strength to face the Federation Government head-on like the rebel army, it still has some similarities as both groups liked to attack players from the Federation camp!

Moreover, with Nightless City Club's current strength, it was clear that they were no match to an armed NPC faction, even if it is just a third-rate NPC faction!

All these problems would be very difficult to solve.

Feng Luo thought to himself.

However, if a spaceship really is hidden in this ruin, then at the very least, two of the problems could be solved easily as we can use the spaceship as leverage to borrow the strength of the NPCs!

War gave players a high degree of freedom. A spaceship is extremely important to the Federation government and it was apparent, given how they advertise it very well; they will definitely be able to get a lot of things in return for the spaceship.

"Be careful! Monsters!"

Mu Zi, who was walking in front suddenly screamed a warning.

"Bang!"

"-4234!"

Feng Luo's mind started racing when Mu Zi shouted, but he was able to quickly lock eyes on the target, and Wings of Death's muzzle quickly shifted towards the target too.

The Legendary-Grade bracelet projected that it was a Level-75 Elite-Grade spider-like monster with anti-detection ability sitting on top of the corridor ceiling on its screen. Their Detection skill was able to detect it too, allowing them to find it. A bullet struck the Level-75 monster and green blood-like liquid splattered onto the ground. This caused the monster to fall heavily on the ground!

Feng Luo had the ability to minimize the amount of effort needed to fight even as his thoughts raced about something else because of another brain domain "evolution"!

"Squeak!"

However, even though the Level-75 monster was hit, the bullet did not strike a vital point. The Elite-Grade spider only lost one-tenth of its over 40,000 HP, and it was not afraid of the players at all despite their decent equipment and considerable battle strength.

It squealed at them and leapt back onto the corridor wall. Then, it crawled along the wall and charged at the players.

"Squeak, squeak…"

A few more squeals could be heard reverberating through the corridor.

Eventually, it looked like they had entered the domain of gregarious monsters which were all over Level-70!

In the giant underground corridor in the ruin…

"Bang!"

A centipede-looking monster over three meters long was shot by Feng Luo. The bullet struck its glowing purple carapace.

"Puff!"

The B-Grade Deflagration Armor-piercing bullet exploded and the flammable liquid inside the bullet ignited causing the thumb-thick feelers on the giant centipede's head to catch fire.

Without using psionic energy, Feng Luo fired three shots before finally crushing the shell on the head of the Level-79 Elite-Grade creature, causing the centipede to squirm like crazy on the ground in the plaza, hundreds of its black ten centimeters long legs to scratch at the ground!

"Ta, ta, ta…"

After that, Mu Zi fired consecutive shots to send the centipede with almost 50,000 HP and combat strength comparable to a Level-50 Commander-Grade into the Heavy Injury status.

"Pa!"

Then, One Pillar Skyward finished it up with an Armor Breaking Slash and cut the giant, injured centipede into two, stopping it from moving ever again!

"Phew!"

"Finally, it is done!"

"The Terminal zone is right in front of us!"

Many of One Pillar Skyward's gears had been damaged. His face was covered in dust and he was panting heavily. However, his face was filled with excitement as he looked over at the other five who were also panting heavily.

That's right, five! Apart from One Pillar Skyward, the total number of survivors is only six.

How can a group of Level-50 players embark on a journey of over ten kilometers in a dangerous place like this and not suffer any losses?

The members of Nightless City Club squad were incredibly cautious throughout the journey. However, they still lost four members, Boss Meng, Little Snow, Burnt And Run, as well as Thousand Pound Apex.

And they only had a few encounters with solo type monsters, not even the truly frightening gregarious monster hordes.

In the ruin, they did face gregarious monsters, particularly in locations with plaza-like terrains where they encountered the Level-55 gregarious monster horde called Sand Nematode!

These were far more similar to snakes than giant centipedes as they had black steel wire-like bodies which were smoother than snakes. When it rolls itself up, it can crush a human's armor into pieces, and the horde has more than 10,000 of them!

Moreover, the horde has blocked a road they needed to pass through!

The good thing is that the Ambergris was very effective.

The smell of the black poop-like item is already quite terrible in its normal state but after being ignited, it emanates a fragrant scent that makes one feel great.

By just burning a small chunk of it, about the size of a fist, they were able to chase away the horde of Sand Nematode that had surrounded them… Otherwise, they would never have gotten to where they were now!

Chapter 700: S-800 Space Battleship

"That's the Terminal, right?"

Six fully armed players who looked like they had just gone through very intense battles slowly crawled out of the exit which was located at the edge of the large plaza.

One Pillar Skyward then pointed the lighting device he was holding towards that area. The light shone over a good 100 meters, from him to the location he was pointing at!

"Yes, that's the place… No monsters are being detected, no abnormal reactions either!"

Mu Zi stared at the screen which is being projected in the air by his Legendary-Grade scout bracelet. At the same time, he was using his Detection skill to check whether there were any monsters in the area; there was no warning given, indicating that there were no monsters.

"In that case, let's hurry up and head there!"

Dai was holding a pistol and her tone indicated that she was buzzing with excitement and could not wait to get there.

Throughout their journey, she had already used all the ammunition she had in her inventory, and now, she could only battle using her pistol!

This was the biggest weakness of the Machine Gunner. Even if they were to use an inventory with the biggest space available, it was still impossible to carry a lot of heavy ammunition.

Once they ran out of bullets, the Machine Gunner's combat strength was substantially reduced!

However, the good thing was that they had finally arrived at their destination.

"Let's move out!"

Although Mu Zi's recon meter did not detect any monsters in the vicinity, the group was still very cautious.

They kept looking left and right, refusing to lower their guard as they walked past the plaza.

The main reason they did not let their guard down is due to the fact that the Legendary-Grade recon meter was not 100% accurate. This was evident earlier on; the Level-79 Elite-Grade Centipede that they encountered had anti-detection abilities.

If it weren't for the reflection caused by light shining on its smooth carapace, the group might have lost more people and its ambush would have succeeded!

After walking past the hundred-meter wide plaza, the group walked towards the Terminal zone expectantly.

However, they could not see any spaceship anywhere in the Terminal zone.

The Terminal zone was surrounded by a 50-meter tall "wall" made of light-reflecting materials, preventing them from being able to clearly see what was inside the Terminal zone!

Despite the existence of this "wall," the group did not find it odd.

After all, the structural map of the Terminal indicated that a wall surrounded the entire Terminal. It was probably once used to protect the spaceship within!

However, this wall is now a hindrance to them.

The wall completely seals the entire space. After a few experiments, they found that the defense coefficient of the material was remarkable.

Only a white mark appears even when a bullet hits it!

The good thing is that Feng Luo still has a trump card!

"Pa…"

Feng Luo brought out Ghost Weep. The red and black blade was quickly covered in a layer of black "flowing water"!

Then, it sliced through the wall!

"Puff!"

The "wall" made of a thin, transparent material that even a bullet failed to break was instantly sliced through by the Ghost Weep's blade which looked like it was burning due to the activation of the Destroy Psionic energy property.

However, Feng Luo did not immediately carve out a hole large enough for a person to fit through. Instead, he carved a hole about the size of a head before sheathing the Ghost Weep!

Feng Luo turned around and said to Mu Zi, "Mu Zi, use Detection!"

"Alright!"

Mu Zi did not ask why and simply cast the cooled down Detection skill into the hole.

There were still no warning signals coming from the Legendary-Grade scout bracelet!

Feng Luo unsheathed Ghost Weep again and carved a hole large enough for them to fit through!

All six of them, led by the shield-bearing Rose Thorns and One Pillar Skyward, went through the hole.

By the time the group passed through the "wall" and entered the Terminal, they eagerly used their lighting devices to illuminate the empty area in front of them!

After the area brightened up, they felt ecstatic!

"There… There… There really is one…"

Under the strong beam of light generated by their lighting devices, around a hundred meters away from them, a metallic cylinder with a diameter of at least 20 meters with a complex layered structure – a structure that was similar to a cannon's barrel – could be seen as its smooth metal reflected the light.

From afar, one could tell that this cannon which far exceeds the size of the main cannon on a military ship, was not the only one around. There were at least ten in a row, stretching to a distance!

In addition to this, they could also vaguely see a structure that resembled a radar dish. Each structure they identified was at least a hundred times larger than the ones they have seen on a military ship. Some of the structures also carried a logo familiar to the group – the logo of the Sam Group!

"Haha! A spaceship! There really is a spaceship!"

"We're rich!"

One Pillar Skyward almost fainted from excitement.

Even though they could not see the entirety of this thing in front of them due to their limited vision, the gigantic cannons were enough to tell them what it was a spaceship!

One Pillar Skyward only brought in by Mu Zi as an extra.

He never would have imagined they'd find a spaceship here.

Legendary-Grade items, hidden professions…

These things were now waving at him, and it wouldn't be long before he can get his hands on them!

"Let's not get overly excited now. In theory, the Sam Group would not have left a spaceship behind. We might only be looking at the weapons of a spaceship."

Feng Luo was very happy.

He had determined that this place was a "Terminal" that might have a spaceship using the structural map from earlier, the possibility of a spaceship actually still being here was quite low. His original estimates showed that probability was actually less than 1%.

The reason why he wanted to get to the Terminal to check for himself was that it was still possible that a spaceship was there, and secondly, even if there was no spaceship, a launchpad might still be present. As long as it was not destroyed, they could still use it to strike a deal with the NPCs.

However, it looked like the best-case scenario was unfolding!

There really is a spaceship!

However, compared to the others, Feng Luo was still a lot calmer.

"Mu Zi!"

Feng Luo turned around and called Mu Zi.

Due to their limited vision, they were not able to determine that it is indeed a spaceship. To confirm that it is, they would need at least a few dozen minutes.

However, for players, there was actually a faster method to investigate!

"Detection!"

Mu Zi cast Detection on the metallic sideboard right under one of the cannons, a hundred meters away from him.

"S-800 Space Battleship (Damaged)."

The feedback had caused him to become stiff.

It was actually not the normal spaceship that they had expected. Instead, it was something even more valuable, a space battleship!

After Mu Zi revealed this, everyone, including Feng Luo, was stunned.

"What? This is a space battleship?"

The group finally understood why the Terminal was extremely huge and had an area of almost five kilometers.

For a space battleship, this occupied space is not large at all.

In the other underground ruin from before, they had witnessed that the largest mega gigantic battleship was over a hundred kilometers large from the Cerebrate's memory!

In comparison, this battleship which only occupied five kilometers could at most be considered a large battleship. Who knows, it might even only be a medium-sized space battleship.

It was not possible for an entire terminal to be reserved only for a space battleship. As such, the space battleship's length was probably less than five kilometers!

However, even if it were a damaged space battleship, its value should be more than that of a common spaceship!

"We're rich! With this, we're even richer!"

After a few seconds of being speechless due to the shock, Chairman Jiao, a boss who did not lack money, finally began to mumble a few words.

It was a space battleship! A battleship that was equipped with a weapon system!

"Hurry… Go up there and start recording videos as proof. By the time we get out and reach a place where we can use our communication devices, we can directly report this to the Federation Government!"

"This time, we will be able to get two Legendary-Grade items and a hidden profession to play with!"

Chairman Jiao's face showed wild excitement. As he spoke, he quickly ran towards the space battleship!

"Chairman Jiao! Don't be hasty… Be careful! There's a hole in the ground over there!"

Feng Luo shouted a reminder from behind him.

Indeed, the ground in front of them had holes in them. Since everyone's attention was focused on the space battleship, no one had noticed them. Well, apart from Feng Luo.

Due to the evolution of his brain domain, his mind was able to process a lot more things at the same time.

As such, he had already noticed a few black holes on the ground between them and the battleship.

He did not know what these holes contained since the closest one was over 20 meters away from them. As such, he could not investigate them yet.

However, from the structural map, they were actually standing on top of a "platform" located in the mid-to-upper section of the spaceship, and the distance between where they were and the bottom of the platform was actually a few hundred meters.

If it were the bottom of the Terminal, the depth could even reach a thousand meters.

Although there were safety measures beneath them, that was from the original design stated in the structural map.

By now, the ruin had already lost all power and control. If one were to fall, it was highly probable that they would fall to their death. As such, Feng Luo quickly shouted a warning.

"Phew… That was close… Too close!"

Cold sweat soaked Chairman Jiao's face as he stopped right at the edge of one of the holes.

Feng Luo's reminder was very timely. One more step and he would have fallen in.

"We have no idea how deep this is. The structural map shows that there should be another layer. But if there isn't, falling in would mean…"

Chairman Jiao muttered subconsciously. At the same time, he pointed his lighting device into the black hole in front of him.

Then…

"F*ck me!"

Chairman Jiao's eyes widened as he shouted.

Chapter 701: A Shot Based On Instinct

Chairman Jiao's shout gained the attention of everyone.

"What's wrong?"

Seeing Chairman Jiao's expression, Feng Luo had already thought of something. His expression changed, as he quickly took a step forward to peer down into the hole in the ground at which Chairman Jiao was pointing the light.

The silvery beam of light pierced through the pitch black and seemingly bottomless hole. The light reached a platform around two or three hundred meters below them.

Then, the area lit up by the light had a bright purplish glow that was gorgeous. It looked as if it was covered with a layer of purple gemstones.

However, when Feng Luo saw the purplish thing that looked like gemstones, his feelings sunk.

They were all familiar with this color. Earlier, when the group was outside the Terminal, the Level-79 giant centipede — the highest level giant centipede that they had encountered thus far — was covered in a carapace that was able to withstand three unimbued psionic energy shots and which also glowed in a similar manner when the light hit it.

And it was exactly the case right now!

Chairman Jiao could not see it clearly due to his low vision. However, Feng Luo's eyesight was several times sharper than the average player, and he could see quite clearly that the thing emanating the purplish glow from more than two hundred meters down on the platform was an identical giant centipede that they had seen before!

Seeing only purple, Feng Lou could not tell how many centipedes there were in the hole.

Most importantly, the beam of light seemed to have startled the group of centipedes below them.

The initially calm and quiet purple mass began to swirl and move. Several giant centipedes, measuring over three meters long, began to crawl up along the sides of the platform walls.

By that time, Mu Zi and the others had also caught up with them. Several of them gasped as they peered into the hole.

"F*ck me! There are so many giant centipedes!"

"They have definitely noticed us!"

One Pillar Skyward's words were meaningless; it was simply too obvious.

Chairman Jiao was soaked in sweat as he quickly raised his head and said, "Hurry, we should quickly record a video of this space battleship as proof. Then, we'll get the hell out of here!"

Since the distance between them was 200 to 300 meters and the wall seemed to be rather smooth and slippery, the centipedes below them did not appear to be crawling up very quickly. A few of them even fell halfway through.

On seeing this, the group knew that they had some time left. No matter what it was, they had to get evidence of this space battleship first; it had become their top priority.

Realizing this, apart from Feng Luo and Mu Zi, the rest of the players quickly ran towards the space battleship. By getting closer, they would be able record a more detailed video using their personal terminal.

On the other hand, Feng Luo stayed beside the hole and continued to stare down with a grim expression.

The situation was actually much more serious than what Chairman Jiao had imagined.

Since Chairman Jiao and the others did not have a keen sense of vision, and the space below them was too dark, they did not notice that the giant centipedes were more than just crawling up along the walls.

Feng Luo's vision and the strong beam of light helped him to see quite clearly that a few giant centipedes emanating a purplish glow were "ascending" directly from below.

To be more precise, the giant centipedes were not ascending, but rather flying!

Among the group of countless giant centipedes were a few larger, special ones. These centipedes measured over five meters long, and two slightly red translucent wings were sticking out on top of their nodular bodies.

Usually, giant centipedes could only crawl up along the edges of the wall. However, their wings enabled these special centipedes to fly.

Although at first sight, it seemed that the special centipedes were not traveling very quickly, they were still much faster than the crawling centipedes

"They are Commander-Grade monsters!"

This time, even the usually steady Mu Zi, raised his voice.

Mu Zi also did not go to record the video; he stayed behind because he specifically wanted to cast the Detection skill at the group of centipedes below them.

These giant centipedes were able to conceal themselves from standard detection. But, with nothing in-between them, the Detection skill was able to pick up information about them.

On the screen of the recon meter, apart from a large number of yellow dots that indicated typical monsters, more than a dozen or so orange dots, which signified Commander Grade monsters, also appeared!

These "Flying Centipedes" were actually Commander Grade monsters. Moreover, they were Commander Grade monsters that were close to Level 80.

The earlier Level 79 Elite Grade giant centipede already had the combat strength on par with a Level 50 Commander Grade monster.

And now, they were seeing more than a dozen Commander Grade "Flying Centipedes" rise from the area below and head towards them!

This time, even Feng Luo was feeling shocked and wary. He turned around and said to Chairman Jiao's video-recording group of four, "Everyone, hurry up!"

"A dozen or so Commander Grade monsters are coming! Prepare to retreat!"

Chairman Jiao and the other three, who had just hastily recorded a short video clip near them, were taken aback when they heard this.

They quickly packed their things and turned around. The six of them ran towards the place that Feng Luo had indicated earlier. Then, they charged just in time into the entrance.

As the last player, Rose Thorns, charged through the entrance, the first Level 78 "Flying Centipede" had also rushed out of the hole in the ground and into the air.

After it exited the hole, its wings continued to buzz as it turned to chase Feng Luo's group without hesitation.

However, by the time it reached the hole in the "wall" that Feng Luo had made using his psionic energy, the Level 78 "Flying Centipede" was restrained by its wings and over-three-meter large body. It was a good thing Feng Luo had cut out a small hole to conserve his psionic energy; this helped stall the centipede for some time.

In the midst of this, the group from Nightless City Club had already reached the other side of the plaza and was moving towards the corridor from which it came.

By that time, the Commander Grade "Flying Centipede" was again up in the air, but it did not continue its chase. Instead, it opened its blood stench insect mouthparts. Then, a red, highly condensed energy ball appeared, along with a frightening aura that strengthened very quickly.

"This is bad…"

When the Commander centipede started to condense energy, Feng Luo could feel a sense of heat coming from behind his back.

What did the vague tingling sense of heat mean? Feng Luo knew it very well, for he had almost familiarized himself with "energy perception" after acquiring and increasing the hidden stat, Mental Power.

If it were just the condensed energy attack of a typical Commander Grade monster, it would still be fine: such attacks were usually more lethal to low-HP glass cannon professions.

However, this was a Level 80 Commander Grade monster!

The earlier Elite Grade giant centipede had the combat strength on par with a Level 50 Commander Grade monster.

One could only imagine the power of the condensed energy attack of this Commander Grade centipede. Once it was released, it could very well mean an indifferent, instant kill for all its targets!

Although Feng Luo's speed would enable him to activate Raging Charge and get into the corridor that was almost within reach before the attack came, the rest of the party would be annihilated!

As he was reaching the entrance of the corridor, Feng Luo suddenly stopped in his tracks. He then turned around, and a dark red layer of Life Armor covered his body.

After that, as fast as he could, Feng Lou stabilized the swinging Wings of Death as he turned around to a certain angle before pulling the trigger.

Bang!

Feng Luo actually did not have time to take aim for the shot. In fact, he did not even look through the sniping scope.

It was simply that he used his instinct borne of thousands of shots!

As soon as the bullet exited the chamber, Feng Luo knew exactly what the result would be.

"It's a hit!"

The searing hot, B Grade Deflagration Armor-piercing Bullet flew out of the muzzle of Wings of Death. It left a trail of red in the dark space and traveled over a hundred meters to enter the fully-opened, about a dozen centimeter wide mouth of the giant flying centipede.

Boom!

-13456!

-5200!

-8445!

-234, -245, -196…

About a few tenths of a second later, the fire energy ball that was almost completed inside the Commander Grade flying centipede exploded uncontrollably. Immediately after the explosion, intense flames and energy waves spread and engulfed the surrounding area of five to six meters.

As a result, three high damage numbers appeared: that caused by the bullet, by Fatal Talent, and the explosive energy ball. Over time, a series of burning increased the damage count.

The shot took out a quarter of the Commander Grade monster's HP and, unprotected by its external shell, the mouthparts of the flying centipede were a burnt mess. The shockwaves of the explosion also destroyed half of its wings, and the burnt centipede's numerous legs squirmed as its body fell on the ground. That spelled the end of its attack on the group that had already reached the entrance of the corridor.

But, despite all that, two other "Flying Centipedes" with hundreds of legs and wings, emanating a purplish glow had just rushed out of the hole in the ground behind them!

Chapter 702: Ambergris and Retreat!

"Run!"

Seeing two other giant "Flying Centipedes" fly out of the hole, Feng Luo did not hesitate to turn and run.

Even though he had a few Force skills with him, there was no way he would be able to deal with three Commander-Grade monsters that were almost Level 80 all at once.

Moreover, there were more than three Commander Grade monsters coming from the platform below the space battleship. Indeed, an entire horde of centipedes was emerging.

Boom! Boom!

After Feng Luo activated Raging Charge, he quickly caught up with the other five in front of him.

When the group turned a corner about 20 meters inside the corridor, two giant condensed energy fireballs exploded behind them. A large hole instantly appeared on the ground, accompanied by a blistering heatwave.

Puff, puff, puff…

Although they had already turned the corner, the powerful shockwave threw the six of them some seven to eight meters against the wall or ground in the corridor.

At the same time, damage numbers ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 popped up above the head of every group member, apart from Feng Luo's.

The damage was incredibly extensive.

The good thing was that the heatwave only sent the six of them flying. If the energy fireball had hit them directly, there was no doubt, everyone, except Feng Luo — who was completely covered by Life Armor — and Rose Thorns — who had an incredibly high amount of HP — would have died on the spot!

Chairman Jiao ran slightly slower than the rest and was struck by the edges of the exploding energy ball. His energy shield was broken as his head was slammed against the wall. As a result, his HP dropped to below 20%.

He got up hastily as he shouted, "They have caught up! Keep running!"

The "Flying Centipedes" behind them had no intention of stopping even after chasing them out of the Terminal zone.

They continued to charge at the group of six who had low HP, which forced each of them to use a blood tonic immediately before running backward again.

However, even though the "Flying Centipedes" were not very fast, they were still quicker than normal players. If they kept running at the current pace, it was only a matter of time before the monsters caught up with them.

Rose Thorns suddenly remembered something and screamed at One Pillar Skyward, who was running in front of her, "Ambergris! Hurry! Ignite your Ambergris!"

The large chunk of Ambergris dropped by the Commander Grade Sand Whale had already been used throughout their journey when they encountered a few different hordes of gregarious monsters.

The good thing was that they had cut the Ambergris into multiple pieces early on and gave one to each player.

Now, only One Pillar Skyward and Mu Zi had one piece each left.

"Ambergris?"

"Damn it. Earlier, when we were sent flying by the explosion, I felt as though I had dropped something," One Pillar Skyward said with a grim expression as he tried to find the item while running.

"What?"

Dai and Chairman Jiao were stunned. Mu Zi, on the other hand, reached into his vest as he was running and prepared to take out the last piece.

On the other hand, Feng Luo stopped suddenly and turned around once more. He quickly aimed his lighting device at an area of the corridor just behind them.

With eyesight and observational skills several times better than the average human, Feng Luo easily found the fist-sized black Ambergris that had dropped in the middle of the corridor.

He raised Wings of Death quickly and, once more, without looking through the sniping scope, shot at the Ambergris lying on the ground.

The fist-sized target lay more than 50 meters away. Had it been any other sniper, who even used a sniping scope, one might not have dared guarantee a hit.

However, after shooting the mouthparts of the centipede earlier, Feng Luo was in a state of "hot hands!"

"Bang!"

A Deflagration Armor-piercing Bullet accurately hit the Ambergris on the ground.

The impact of the Deflagration Armor-piercing Bullet crushed the Ambergris into multiples pieces. Because the crushed pieces had a layer of flammable liquid, the area around them started to burn quickly.

Then, a strong fragrance began to fill the air.

Hiss! Hiss!

The two uninjured flying centipedes had reached the corner of the corridor.

However, when they reached the location of the Ambergris, they unconsciously slowed their movement. Their four-cornered rectangle mouthparts let out a hissing roar as though they were feeling afraid.

The Nightless City Club group took the opportunity to continue retreating, keeping to their original path, which had been cleared of monsters.

Mu Zi leaned his body against the ground and used the Detection skill. Then, with a relaxed expression, he turned around and said to the others, "They have retreated. They are not pursuing us anymore."

One Pillar Skyward slumped to the ground, panting heavily, and said, "Phew, we finally got away."

They had finally escaped from the pursuit of the dozen-plus Commander Grade "Flying Centipedes" that neared Level 80.

However, the team had lost another person.

Now, of the 10-player team, only five were left.

The Ambergris was certainly useful; however, when it came to monsters at or above Commander grade, the effects of the Ambergris were reduced. It might also be because the "Flying Centipedes" were of a higher level than the Sand Whale.

As such, it only worked to stop the Commander Grade monsters for a while. The dozen or so Commander Grade "Flying Centipedes" forced their way past the Ambergris zone before long. Then, they continued chasing the players.

In the end, after running for a long time, Chairman Jiao had used up all of his stamina and did not want to run any longer. He decided to sacrifice himself to buy the group some time, and allow the remaining five of them to retreat to an area outside the Terminal zone.

"Brother Feng, what should we do now? Do we continue with the mission? Or…"

Mu Zi raised his head and looked at Feng Luo, who was standing with Wings of Death in his hand and checking to see if there were any other monsters in hiding.

They were in a region that looked like the military base they had first entered.

Earlier, everyone had discovered this place through the structural map. After that, they decided to head here specifically and found that due to the terrain, this part of the military base was not concealed by the sand.

One could even say that the corridors in this area were connected directly to the desert above.

That was why the group decided to retreat to this location while being chased frantically by the "Flying Centipedes." And indeed, they really did manage to shake off the incredibly powerful group of Commander Grade monsters after a pursuit of over one kilometer.

Feng Luo looked like he was deep in thought.

Everyone was waiting.

Among those that had survived, all the remaining ones were employees of the Nightless City Club.

As such, Feng Luo could decide their next course of action.

Of course, even if Chairman Jiao or Boss Meng were here, the group would still prioritize any suggestion or advice given by Feng Luo.

After all, the game prioritized a player's strength.

Moreover, Feng Luo's ability to make judgments had been proven in the past to be far better than normal people's.

"Let's put the mission on hold."

Feng Luo looked at the specially-designed box carrying the corpse of the Cerebrate held by Rose Thorns.

The positive was that despite the chaotic retreat, the box nonetheless remained with Rose Thorns.

And although they probably would not be able to find the A-2 research base right now, they could continue with the story as long as they still had the item.

"Let's wait here for a while. After we exit the combat mode, I'll go offline and discuss with Mu Wu," Feng Luo said after a pause.

Then, a look of determination filled his eyes before he spoke again. "Hey guys, I have an idea. And I'd very much like to hear your thoughts."

Then, he raised his head and looked at the four internal employees of the Nightless City Club.

"Why don't we build our Nightless City Club base here? So, what do you say?"

"Hah?"

After hearing Feng Luo's suggestion, the first reaction of the other four was, naturally, one of shock. Then, each had a different opinion.

Chapter 703: City Building Suggestion

"Build a city? Oh my God! Our Nightless City is going to build its own city!" a surprised Dai said. One Pillar Skyward, who was standing beside her, had a similar reaction.

"Brother Feng, did you say our Nightless City Club? Does this mean that Brother Feng, you…" asked Rose Thorns. She perceptively detected from Feng Luo's words some hidden message, which surprised her.

"Brother Feng, does this mean that Nightless City will be leaving the Lu Conglomerate City? Did the big boss agree to Brother Wu's plan?" asked Mu Zi.

Since he was related to Mu Wu, he seemed to know already some things in advance. And so, his delight was also mixed with some questions.

"Chairman Lu has already transferred ownership of the Nightless City to Mu Wu and me."

"But, I was supposed to be the one asking you guys for your suggestions or thoughts regarding our building a city here. None of you seems to have answered me."

Feng Luo deliberately paired his comments with a wry smile.

There were no outsiders here. The four of them were all employees of Nightless City. News that Feng Luo is now one of the new bosses of Nightless City would be announced very soon.

As such, Feng Luo decided to just tell them about it.

At the same time, he wanted to hear their thoughts and doubts about his idea of building a city on the site.

"Building a city here… If we can get the help of the NPCs to deal with the problem of exploring the area like what Brother Feng mentioned earlier, then this is certainly a great choice."

"Particularly right now, when there's a huge flow of investments coming into the game, the cost of exploring and building a city will undeniably increase by at least a few times. I heard that the price of hiring a player well equipped with Excellent Grade items has already reached 5,000 credits per day!"

"But building a city itself will require a lot of capital in and of itself. I heard that the Lu Conglomerate, including the investment by the September Guild, has already spent over 10 billion credits on their city, and it isn't even completed yet."

After hearing Feng Luo's comments, all four of them agreed with his idea of building a city.

However, because they have lived in Lu Conglomerate City, they knew very well just how much capital was needed to build a city.

Lu Conglomerate's original plan was to use a billion Star Coins to build a city. In the end, after acquiring the investment from the September Guild, they still had not completed building the Lu Conglomerate City.

The cost of building a city in the game was actually a lot lower than building one in reality. However, it was still a game of burning cash.

"We can think of something if it is about money. Even if we can't, we'll get the ground plans laid out first," said Feng Luo.

Money was indeed a problem, but the issue could be resolved.

"Right, we've exited the combat mode. You guys wait here. I'll go offline and discuss the matter with Mu Wu," Feng Luo said after looking at his screen interface.

After that, he went offline, and his body began to dissolve and disappear.

"Hah! Brother Feng is going to join our Nightless City Club! With that, our guild is going to become incredible!"

After Feng Luo had left, Dai and One Pillar Skyward laughed heartily.

"Of course, we're going to be incredible. In the future, we can say that our guild has the number one Sniper in War. No one would dare look down on our Nightless City Club."

One Pillar Skyward was ecstatic.

"Ugh, though Brother Feng is certainly the strongest Sniper player I've seen, but isn't that title a little too…"

Dai stopped to think for a moment, and it looked like she hadn't decided yet what word to use.

"Hmm? Am I wrong?"

"Come on, when have you ever seen a Sniper shoot like Brother Feng's two shots earlier. And tell me, which Sniper can deal over 50,000 damage in a single shot?" One Pillar Skyward asked. He seemed quite annoyed by Dai's doubts.

Although it was the first time he worked with Feng Luo in the game, he definitely had become a Feng Luo fan in these three days.

"Heh, even we're going to build our own city now. Just thinking about it is exciting!"

"Friggin' hell, I've been annoyed by the people from the Lu Conglomerate and September Guild for a long time. With this, we finally are no longer associated with them!"

One Pillar Skyward became excited again, as he brought the topic back to the city building.

"Building a city?"

Offline, Feng Luo already connected with Mu Wu. The reason was that the others that had died earlier, including Chairman Jiao, had notified Mu Wu about the latest developments.

As such, the moment Feng Luo went offline, he met with Mu Wu, who had also logged out of the game through the 3D projector inside his house.

However, Chairman Jiao and the others had no idea Feng Luo was thinking about building a city.

And so, when Mu Wu heard Feng Luo, he was also quite shocked. After that, he went into deep thought.

"This is most certainly a great opportunity. It is also a suitable location. But, there are just too many problems that we will encounter. The NPC factions, water resources, the amount of capital needed, and also, how we are going to attract NPCs and players at the current stage?"

Mu Wu was certainly a person who had amazing strategic planning skills.

In just half a minute, he saw the strengths and weaknesses of building a city at the ruins site. He even considered a few more things than Feng Luo.

It was not surprising at all, as after all, Feng Luo conjured up the idea of building a city on the spot.

However, Mu Wu, from his previous conversations with Feng Luo, had been thinking about building a city for Nightless City for a long time.

"Capital, water sources, and NPC factions. These three aren't major issues."

"If we don't have the space battleship, building a city there would be too difficult. Moreover, we would have to face a serious threat from the NPC faction. But, if we can lure the NPC factions interested in the space battleship over there in advance, then the Federation Government probably won't mind helping us get rid of them," Feng Luo said with a smile.

"As for the water source, it is true that it isn't found easily in the desert, but the distance between the ruin and the edge of the Death Forest is only around a hundred miles."

"The Death Forest has an abundant source of water. As long as we eliminate the NPC faction over there, building an underground pipe that connects to the city won't be a problem."

"Yes, that is possible. But what about money?" Mu Wu nodded and then looked at Feng Luo again.

In the end, money was the real problem; it was more serious than the other two issues.

One could even say that if they had enough money, the other two wouldn't have been a problem to begin with.

As long as they had the money, they could easily hire millions of players, and with the advantage of not fearing death, their numbers could easily crush the NPC faction.

Star Coins were ultimately almighty in the game!

"On this, I have two ideas: First, let some of our old clients in the club, who are also in the game, own some shares for building the city. People like Boss Meng or Chairman Jiao, they will help us raise some of the needed funds."

"I believe they'll see the potential of this opportunity, and a number of them would be willing to invest. It will help us solve the gaps in our funding," Feng Luo spoke of his first idea.

"This plan is feasible, but…"

"Although they are clients, most of them are businessmen. If they become shareholders, the guild will be a lot harder to manage."

Mu Wu at first nodded but then quickly shook his head.

Feng Luo was not surprised by Mu Wu's reaction and continued to talk about his second idea.

"The second idea is: First, get a loan to explore the ruin. Then, after Huan Yu's auction, I'll receive the money for selling the Boss biochip, even though the chip doesn't belong to me alone. That should be enough for the first phase of building the city."

When he spoke, his eyes were focused on Mu Wu's face as he observed his reactions.

Mu Wu's expression stiffened. It stayed that way for a while before he became very thoughtful.

"This plan could work. But, a Boss pet biochip is worth at least a billion credits now. By the time you invest, we'd have to re-arrange the shares!"

Mu Wu did not grimace as he brought up this rather "serious" issue directly.

Nightless City belonged to them both right now, with each of them holding 50% of the shares.

However, if Feng Luo were to inject new capital to build the city, an amount that exceeded Nightless City's current capital, it was natural the shares would have to be re-allocated.

Of course, they could separate the city building from Nightless City itself, as Feng Luo first suggested, and allocate shares for the city building alone.

However, Feng Luo simply shook his head, looked at Mu Wu and said, "No! Treat that money as a loan from me to the guild. Or maybe to you. When the guild has more cash, you can pay me back with interest."

He wanted his shares in Nightless City to be at 49% because he wished for Mu Wu to make the decisions for Nightless City. He also wanted it that way because it would allow him to relax and become a boss who doesn't have to do too much work.

However, they needed to grab this opportunity; they could not let the chance slip, and so they had to throw money into it.

Nonetheless, with regard to the guild and the completed city, he still did not want to manage either.

If he only lent the money to the company, they would not need to re-allocate the shares. In that case, he wouldn't have to worry too much. He really didn't like troubles.

"But even if I invest the money, Nightless City isn't one that'll grow with money alone. You should know that I have no interest in managing any guild matters!"

When Mu Wu was thinking deeply, Feng Luo added another line.

What Feng Luo said was not a ruse nor was it meant to make Mu Wu feel better.

It was true that the big boss gave him half the shares in the Nightless City company. Moreover, the Nightless City Club was under the Nightless City company, meaning Feng Luo owned half the shares in the in-game asset of Nightless City — the Nightless City Club.

However, in truth, the Nightless City Club was an organization that Mu Wu had spent a lot of time and effort building up.

Before this, Feng Luo was not at all associated with the club.

As such, for various reasons, he had no intention of increasing his shares in the Nightless City Club.

After a few more moments of silence, Mu Wu finally spoke again.

"If you insist, then all right. We can do it via a loan."

"But, with regard to the shares in Nightless City, we still have to adjust them."

"Old Feng, you have forgotten to include yourself in the valuation!"

"Even though you don't want to deal with any of the guild's matters, you have to remember that you are a combat player who once dominated the search rankings. Do you know the price of someone like this to join a guild?"

"Even if it was a top-line guild with hundreds of thousands of members, it'll still use shares as part of its negotiations. There's no need for me to mention just how poor Nightless City is!"

Mu Wu looked at Feng Luo with deep respect.

"Moreover, truth be told, I don't care about the shares in the guild as well. I only care about whether we can grow Nightless City into one of the top guilds in the game. At the same time, surpass 'some' of the other guilds along the way."

Mu Wu sounded very calm. However, his gaze was full of ambition.

"Wu's personality surely takes after his mother. For things that he cares about, he would never back down. Moreover, he always wants to do something to prove himself."

Feng Luo suddenly remembered the words of the big boss.

He had to admit. They were father and son. On understanding Mu Wu's personality, the big boss was still above him.

After looking at each other for a while, they laughed.

"All right then, I'll go online!"

After further discussing a few details with Mu Wu, Feng Luo turned around and returned to the game capsule and logged in once more to War.

Ta, ta, ta

Chapter 704: Feng Luo's 'Ugly Side'

"Those are the sounds of submachine guns, sniper rifles, and machine guns firing, as well as the explosion of condensed fireballs!"

His body was still slowly materializing but Feng Luo's ears recognized the sounds clearly. He already knew where they were coming from.

"This is bad! Are the monsters here!?"

Feng Luo's heart tightened.

However, he quickly paused, knowing something was abnormal.

"Wait, that's not right. Dai has already run out of bullets, so why are there sounds of a machine gun firing?"

Not only had Dai run out of machine gun ammunition, but Burnt and Run were already dead. So where did the condensed fireball come from? Not to mention the sniper rifle!

As his body gradually materialized, Feng Luo could clearly see that Mu Zi and the other three were nowhere to be found. Mu Zi and the others did not wait for him at the location where he went offline!

It was clear that something had happened.

However, his body could not move. Even though he wanted to know the real situation as soon as possible, he could only wait in place.

When players reconnected to the game in the wild, they received a punishment.

They would not be able to move or attack in the first ten seconds of going online. But during this time, they were vulnerable to being attacked by monsters or other players.

All things taken into consideration, it was still not too bad. In some special missions, if a player went offline and the area had an ongoing battle, the system would prohibit players from going online.

The mechanism was put in place to prevent some people from using such a method to set up ambushes or to create tactical plans that were against fair play rules.

After a few seconds, Feng Luo's body could move freely again. He immediately ran up the stairs.

He decided to ascend because he had already identified the source of the battle sound. It came from the military base ruin in the desert.

Feng Luo quickly ran up a few stories towards the partially covered building they had initially entered. By the time he reached it, Feng Luo was more relaxed.

He calmed down when he found Mu Zi and the other three in a corner of the room. The building was completely dark and they were looking outside through a tiny hole hidden in one of its walls.

From inside the building, Feng Luo could tell more clearly that the battle sounds came from the outside. It originated from a place that was quite a distance away from them.

"What happened?"

Feng Luo's voice startled the four other soldiers who were focused on looking forward.

They turned around quickly to see who it was and relaxed after seeing Feng Luo.

One Pillar Skyward instantly greeted Feng Luo. "Brother Feng! You're back!"

Feng Luo asked, "What's the situation outside?"

One Pillar Skyward answered, "After you logged out— think it was about two minutes ago — we heard sounds of gunshots coming from above.

"So, we quickly ran over here and saw that two SUVs were driving here from the desert. However, they were probably trying to run away from someone, since over a dozen other SUVs were pursuing them from behind."

Mu Zi added, "After we found out that something was amiss, we quickly turned off all the lights. Plus, since the Legendary scout bracelet has anti-detection skills, they may not have found us yet.

"The people at the front probably discovered this ruin. It seems like they wanted to use it to block their opponent's long-range attacks. That is why they escaped to this place. But it looks like they were unlucky. When they got through, one of their SUVs was overturned by the enemy!

"So right now, the first group has already entered the ruin. The second group is still attacking from outside."

"So, they are players?" asked Feng Luo.

Mu Zi nodded and replied, "Yes, they are all players!"

Feng Luo frowned.

Players. It was unusual for two groups of players to appear in a high-level zone in the depths of the Death Desert.

More importantly, the location where the two sides were engaging in battle was right above the military base where Feng Luo and his team were hiding.

It is important to note that the straight distance between the space battleship and their current position was less than one kilometer. Moreover, the Terminal and the location directly below them were connected by various underground corridors.

If the players above them got lucky and accidentally discovered the underground part of the ruin, the plan he had just discussed with Mu Wu would be greatly affected!

No one would be able to withstand the lure of a space battleship that promised ridiculous returns.

"How many people do they have?" asked Feng Luo with a serious expression.

"The first group has a total of around ten players inside their two energy SUVs. The second group has over a dozen SUVs. So, there are probably at least 50 of them…"

"For fear of being detected by them, I have not used Detection. The feedback of the Recon Meter isn't completely accurate," said Mu Zi.

"This means that there's a total of around 60 people." Feng Luo's expression seemed to have relaxed.

There were over 60 people outside while they only had five. The difference was ten-fold.

And the difference between the first and the second group was also too large. From their escape, it seemed like the first group knew that they were no match for their pursuers.

As such, it was highly likely that the battle outside would end with the second group achieving victory.

If so, the victorious party might continue exploring this ruin!

After all, a ruin like this sitting in such a high-level zone probably had not been explored by anyone yet. Since the monsters were too strong, getting to a location like this would require a lot of luck.

Feng Luo's group had been lucky not to have been wiped out by any monsters while they had ventured out at night, so they wanted to stick around and explore the ruins themselves in more detail.

By then, the secret of the underground city might not be safe.

Due to its proximity to the underground city, the secret of the space battleship might also be lost.

"We cannot let them explore the ruin!" Feng Luo's eyes were very serious. He had already made the decision.

Normally, he was a person who avoided trouble as much as possible. His attitude was to leave others be – as long as they accorded him the same courtesy.

However, that was under normal circumstances. And this was not an ordinary situation.

When it came to important matters where he could not back down, Feng Luo was never soft-hearted.

He was determined not to let these people discover the space battleship.

Even if he had to intentionally attack and kill all those other people.

Feng Luo got up and observed the room, using the red glow of light filtering in from the sand outside.

Before long, he found another hole in the wall that gave him a view of the exterior. He walked a few steps over and leaned towards the hole to look outside.

From his vantage point, the first thing Feng Luo saw was the walls on the edges of the base. Both the groups were moving towards the base. About a dozen or so SUVs belonging to the second group was in hot pursuit of the first group. The pursuers had opened fire and were unrelenting in their attack.

With a glance, Feng Luo estimated the people inside those SUVs amounted to around 50, just as Mu Zi said.

Although most of the players appeared to have decent equipment, their gear was not all the same. At the very least, most of them had Excellent-grade equipment, making them slightly above average players.

Of course, to Feng Luo, these were meaningless. As long as they weren't Heavy Armor Warriors with Legendary-grade items, a normal player like these guys, even if fully equipped with Rare-grade gear, would be killed in one shot.

Would Feng Luo feel remorse and be unwilling to kill all these people since there was no prior conflict between them?

Hehe…

"Hmm?"

After a few seconds of observation through his peephole inside the dark building, Feng Luo's expression suddenly stiffened.

He had noticed something else. When these players turned to face him directly, vague red dots appeared on their chests.

Chapter 705: Enemy Camp Players

"Huh? These players are actually not from the Federation camp!"

Feng Luo's eyes moved.

The larger group of players all had a small red glow on their chests. It was a mark that indicated they were from a different faction from their own.

The sand in the Death Desert emitted a red glow. Coupled with the multitude of colors from the skills and attacks being deployed in the battle, it was incredibly difficult at first to notice the small red glows on the players' chests.

But Feng Luo's observational abilities far surpassed the normal human being, so it did not take him long to discover them.

"The rebel army?" Doubt filled Feng Luo's eyes.

"Hmm, it is not necessarily the rebel army… he said, thinking aloud.

After all, it was not as straight-forward as one would think. When the system made it possible to switch sides, many players had changed allegiance and joined some of the NPC non-governmental armed factions.

Apart from the rebel army, most of these armed factions could not even compare to the Federation government when it came to their strength. However, just like the players who joined the rebel army camp and had directly received an advanced-level pet biochip, almost every other NPC faction had its own specialty.

In addition, after players were permitted to switch sides, many NPC camps also gave amazing privileges to the "adventurers" who joined their factions first. It made switching camps a lot more lucrative than staying in the Federation camp.

As such, it was no longer odd to encounter players from another faction, especially in areas where the Federation had less influence and weaker control.

Since killing a player from the enemy's camp granted Merits as a reward, when players of two sides came from different camps encountered each other, a battle would usually break out.

Feng Luo initially thought these people belonged to the Federation camp.

But to his surprise, they were enemy players from a different camp!

For the players from the Federation camp, apart from their own faction, the rest of the other factions were considered enemies. Capturing an enemy allowed Federation players to withdraw a prisoner's Merits from the captive's "ATM."

Of course, this was only true for those who had reached a certain level.

One thing to note was that after the latest update, there was also a change in the way the system determined the affiliation of players with different factions.

Right now, players only received notification of their ranks when they entered the combat mode or were involved in a special camp mission. Moreover, the red glow that typically indicated a player was from another faction was no longer very clear. One needed to look very carefully. Otherwise, it was incredibly difficult to identify.

As such, especially with the night condition in the Death Desert, Mu Zi and the others did not notice that the players from the second group actually belonged to another faction.

The enemy had clearly also not noticed their presence yet.

This was because Mu Zi was using the Legendary-grade Recon Meter to disrupt any attempts at scouting their area. The enemy had several scout players shooting towards them using their submachine gun; however, none of them had yet discovered that Feng Luo and his team were there!

The battle outside had reached its climax. Feng Luo could only see one person from his current position, but judging from advances made by the second group and its continuous firing that was met with fewer and fewer counterattacks, it was clear that the first group was already at a disadvantage.

There was a five-fold difference when it came to their numbers. For players who had not yet reached a certain standard, it was impossible to overcome this humongous gap.

In truth, even if Feng Luo were to fight five players at the same time, he dared not guarantee that he would be the ultimate victor.

No matter how high his attack or his HP was, it would never add up to be higher than the sum of five players. The victories he had achieved when it came to one versus ten or more had all resulted from all sorts of geographical and tactical advantages.

For example, when Feng Luo killed September Night Rain's group, he had seized his geographical and shooting distance advantages to claim his victory.

In the current situation, the first group would be wiped out as soon as their enemy caught up.

Unless… Someone came in to give them a hand!

The people in the second group sat inside a bulletproof SUV called the "Warrior." Among them, a Heavy Armor Warrior was covering for a Machine Gunner as he shouted happily, "Let's go… Everyone, hurry up!"

"Hey! The NPC said that each of these Federation camp players will earn us 500 Faction Points. As long as we get the item, we'll directly receive 10,000 points. That's the equivalent of a B-grade blueprint!"

"Fellow brothers from the Wolf squad! Put more work into it! Do not lose to the people from Scorpions!"

Using the rear and underside of the SUV for protection, a Scout player holding an Excellent Grade rifle that was a replica of an AK-47 used the recon meter to examine an abandoned building in the military base that was illuminated by their team vehicles' headlights. He then pointed at the building and said, "Hey, relax Boss, they can't get away… That way!"

"Rumble, rumble…"

"Whoosh, whoosh…"

The players in the other five vehicles surrounding the "Warrior" SUV began to unleash attacks at the building to which he was pointing.

"Keep dreaming, sh*tters! Does your little Wolf squad think that you can defeat our Golden Scorpion? This mission's item belongs to us!"

"Brothers, let's go! We'll step over the Wolf squad and push them down! We'll sell the reward item from the NPC later and divide the spoils based on our contributions!"

From not too far away, a half-naked Earth Manipulator with scorpion tattoos on his arm and face, standing inside a vehicle painted with a golden scorpion logo, smiled broadly.

After his shout, the players from the other vehicles also began to throw a bunch of skills and fire bullets at the Wolf Squad.

It was clear that these non-Federation camp players did not belong to the same team.

However, their target seemed to be the same group of players that they were chasing in front of them!

Inside the military base, within the group of players who were retreating as they fought, My World leaned against a battered and half-collapsed building while apologizing, "Brother Dan Hen, Brother Skynet… I'm really sorry this time. It's our fault that you are being pursued!"

Azure who was beside him was hastily opening her medical box to bring out her tools. She quickly treated My World who had become "Disabled" after taking a few hits from machine-gun bullets. She used half a bandage, wrapping it around his left arm to stop the bleeding and to prevent his HP from emptying due to the continuous blood loss.

After the system update, when a certain part reached the damage limit, another attack would cause it to become "Disabled."

In a battle in the wild like this one, getting this kind of serious injury meant that one would lose half of his or her battle strength without being able to recover.

"Ta, ta, ta…"

Dan Hen first turned around and used his submachine gun to fire a series of bullets at the pursuers closing in on them.

After that, he quickly lowered his head to dodge the machine gun bullets as well as a dozen or so wind blades that followed and struck the dense sand on the ground.

"Don't say that," Dan Hen replied, panting heavily. "We were just unlucky. We didn't expect to be found by the NPCs… Phew… Skynet, can you disable the Machine Gunner over on the other side?"

Then, he shouted at Skynet who was sprawled on the ground about a dozen meters away, trying to hide from the sniper's shots and explosions from the energy skills.

Skynet shook his head and grimaced. "No! It's too difficult!"

"The Machine Gunner is protected by a Heavy Armor Warrior. Moreover, his gears look pretty good. He should be equipped with a full set of the 'Snow Leopard' tactical set. His defense should be very high and his HP probably exceeds 6,000. Even if I get a shot in, I wouldn't be able to take out one-third of his HP!"

"What if we add Watermelon into the mix?"

Ion Flame suddenly stood up after his energy shield's cooldown elapsed and cast a firewall around 20 meters in front of them, attempting to disrupt the enemy's attack angle.

By the time he turned around to duck for cover, his energy shield had already broken and his HP was less than 30%.

"Bang!"

Above the others, Watermelon Skin wore a set of Excellent Grade items and fired a shot using his sniper rifle.

Then, he quickly rolled downward and dodged the shots fired from two snipers who countered immediately. As he tumbled on the ground, his combat uniform became covered in sand and bloodstain from a previous gunshot wound.

"It probably won't work, unless…" Skynet shook his head and spoke no more.

Everyone understood.

… Unless Watermelon Skin used his talent – Sacrificial Skin. But that would mean that Watermelon Skin would also die.

But even if they did that, they could not guarantee that they would be able to beat the enemy.

It had not been easy for them to finally get there. However, it now looked like they had no chance of getting out of there with the item.

Chapter 706: Shoot the Horse First!

While the mood in Mu Zi's [1] group almost sank to the bottom, the enemy camp players who were chasing them, in contrast, were full of excitement.

The leaders in the two high-end SUVs were outshouting their commands to their squads.

"Go, go, go! Brothers from the Wolf Squad, push more! Their attacks have already weakened. They are definitely running out of ammo and MP."

"Light Armor Warriors, move in from the side and flank them. Brothers from the Golden Scorpion, do not let those bastards from the Wolf Squad get the kills. There are only eight of them left."

They began their chase from the base of the Freedom Flag faction in the Death Forest. They pursued their enemy for over a hundred kilometers, and finally caught up with the dozen or so players from the Federation camp, who were working on a mission in the depths of the Death Desert.

The journey from the NPC's base took them half a night. The mission, which took them over a hundred kilometers across the desert, was finally coming to an end, and they were about to enjoy the spoils.

"These people must be in despair. They probably thought that leading us this way would make us encounter some high level, powerful monsters, so that they could take the chance to escape. They never would have thought they would be so unlucky that we did not encounter even one Commander Grade or higher monster!"

"Not even one high-level monster; even after over a hundred kilometers. The probability of this is lower than winning the lottery, and they are so unlucky it happened to them. By now, they are probably thinking death would be a better result," the leader of the Wolf Squad mercenary group proudly exclaimed. As he spoke, he was stationed behind a machine gun, firing at Mu Zi's group [2, who were so suppressed that they could not even raise their heads.

"Moreover, they also helped us find such a nice-looking ruin site. A ruin like this on a map may be as yet unexplored. By the time we kill them, we will certainly have to explore it slowly."

"But, before that, we will have to find a way to deal with these guys from Golden Scorpion."

A cruel smile crossed the Wolf Squad leader's face.

The faction that they joined did not have many people, and they took in only some small adventurer's squad. These squads had to work together for a lot of the missions and no foul play among the squads was allowed.

The Golden Scorpion and Wolf Squad mercenary groups had a long history of rivalry. Even though they would work together on a mission, they would most often engage in brutal fights once the seized items were disbursed. Now, there was another up for grabs: the ruin.

I will have to gain the upper hand by making the first move, thought Machine Gunner. He pressed harder on the trigger of his machine gun. The six-barrelled machine gun fired at maximum speed.

However, just as he pressed down hard on the trigger…

Boom!

He suddenly felt something hit the helmet he was wearing. His forehead felt as though it had been struck with a large and heavy hammer.

After that, the sounds of the machine gun firing, after the Crazy Roar mode was activated, suddenly stopped!

What is happening?

That was the last thought of the scheming Machine Gunner.

What is happening?

The other players from the Wolf Squad mercenary group were so stunned that they had forgotten to continue to attack.

The reason was simple: the Machine Gunner, who had been shooting arrogantly with the six-barrelled machine gun on top of the Warrior bulletproof vehicle, and also known as the leader of the Wolf Squad, fell to the ground from the roof of the SUV. His face was expressionless.

The white light of death engulfed his full Rare Grade combat gear. Around him, multiple crystals emanating white glows, potions, magazines, and various other items fell on the ground.

However, it was not the white light of death nor the glow of the fallen items that shocked the people around him. Instead, it was a striking, red five-digit damage number that hung in the air: -12,035!

A five-digit damage number! This was one digit more than the usual damage number that appeared. It also attracted ten times more attention.

"The boss has been killed!"

The Wolf Squad players reacted only after a full second had elapsed.

Bang!

-10,132!

As surprised shouts filled the air, the energy shield of the Earth Manipulator, the leader of the Golden Scorpion who was in the other vehicle, also shattered after sustaining many attacks by Mu Zi's group [3].

Immediately after that, he was thrown out of the SUV and fell on the ground.

As his body flew through the air, a bowl-sized hole appeared on his chest, and the white light of death flashed in front of the others.

"There's a Sniper!"

The only difference between the deaths of the two leaders was that Earth Manipulator reacted and learned which profession combatant was responsible for the attacks.

"F*ck!"

"There's a Sniper!"

"The boss was killed in one shot!"

"Hurry up and find him!"

The leaders of the two squads were killed within a second.

The players from Wolf Squad and Golden Scorpion finally regained their senses. In an instant, some of them began to dodge and hide wherever they could.

The rest of the players chose, however, not dodge or hide. Instead, they quickly looked towards the opposite direction of where Earth Manipulator fell to try to find the Sniper who had killed the leaders of their squads.

Bang!

And amid the chaotic scene, a third bullet came before another full second elapsed.

This time, the sniper-bullet struck the energy shield of a Fire Manipulator.

-2,560!

The sniper-bullet, which could instantly kill an Earth Manipulator, easily shattered the hastily-cast fire energy shield that covered the Fire Manipulator. However, it was not enough to kill the player in one shot.

The Fire Manipulator was one of the players who took evasive action. Moreover, his luck was a lot better than Mu Zi group's [4]. The reason was that he almost tripped when he tried to dodge. In the end, the sniper-bullet, which had a high chance of striking his heart even as he was trying to get cover, only managed to hit his right chest. The shot hit his lung and dealt a Weak Point Damage. However, since it had reached the single body-part damage limit, the shot was not able to kill him unlike the previous two shots.

This was not much of a problem, though.

Even though the player was not killed in one shot, the impact of the sniper-bullet significantly changed his evasive path.

Immediately after that, a fourth sniper-bullet hit his fully-exposed head.

-13,435!

Another red Fatal Damage of over 10,000.

After the system update, which showed that the damage number of the last hit exceeded the remaining HP of the target, the true might of the sniper-bullet was on full display.

"Hurry! Hide!"

"F*ck! This Sniper can one-shot people. Cannon Glasses, don't stand in the same spot!"

Four bullets, three kills!

The players from the two mercenary squads were finally feeling the full extent of their opponent's attack. It was all very shocking and frightening.

The opponent did make the two Doctor players on the two teams his first target, which a Sniper typically would do.

After all, there was no need for this. Since he could take out most of the players with one shot, there was no need to worry about leaving the Doctor players alive.

Instead, killing the manipulators and machine gunners, the combatants who had long-range attack options, was his priority.

On realizing this, the cannon glass players of the two mercenary squads, who had been unleashing attacks, gave up on the idea of counter-attacking. Each of them quickly ran to take cover behind the SUV or the building.

"Scout! Scout!"

"What are you guys doing? Hurry up and find him!"

Someone was shouting instructions while others watched the corpses of two of their teammates, who had been sniper-shot and killed in the midst of all the running and hiding.

Chapter 707: Two More Kills!

On the situation of the pursuers who belonged to an enemy faction:

Suppressed by the Machine Gunner's continuous fire, My World and Dan Hen's group was forced to take cover behind a building. As such, they failed to notice that the Machine Gunner of the Wolf Squad had been killed. When the six-barrelled machine gun stopped firing, they also did not have the leisure to turn around to check why the firepower directed at them was significantly reduced.

The reason was that at the time, six Light Armor Warriors had already moved around the building and were behind them. After that, they cast the Charge skill and closed in on them.

Six Light Armor Warriors. It did not seem like many. The number was even two fewer than the number of survivors in their team.

However, if one were to look closely at the team's composition and their current status, it would not be difficult to tell just how significant a threat the six Light Armor Warriors was.

Eight people. Two Snipers. Skynet and Watermelon Skin.

My World and Dan Hen were still all right. They had sufficient ammo, but their HP was only at around 60%.

Scout: Dan Hen.

Equipped combat uniform damage over 30%, HP 65%, helmet wholly damaged, and he had only three submachine gun magazines left.

Manipulators: Ion Flame and Tangerine.

Ion Flame had less than 50% HP and less than 10% MP. At most, he could cast one more skill. Tangerine had an empty MP bar. Moreover, both their MP potion use was still under cool down.

Doctor: Azure. Her specialty was healing, which had close to zero use for combat. Additionally, all the advanced-level potions in her medical box had been consumed.

Warriors: My World and Steel Fortress. My World's Light Armor had one arm disabled, and Steel Fortress' shield damage was over 40%.

There were eight of them, but they were not in their best condition. And most importantly, they had only two and a half melee combat specialists.

My World and Steel Fortress made two, and Dan Hen, as a Scout, would count as half.

If one were to consider that My World had lost an arm and that his combat strength was only half his original, it would mean they had only two people for this melee fight.

And now, their path of retreat had been cut off by six full HP Snipers! [1]

They had been forced into a corner!

"I'll take two!"

When the six Light Armor Warriors surrounded them, Dan Hen loosened his grip on the emptied submachine gun and pulled out a dark red stiletto from this tactical vest.

As he shouted, he charged towards two of the Light Armor Warriors.

As a Scout with Dan Hen's ability and PK experience, dealing with one Light Armor Warrior would not have been much of a problem. But, since he was up against two people, it was clear that he was prepared to lay down his life.

"Let's go."

My World gritted his teeth and held an alloy sword in his remaining functional arm. Then, he and Steel Fortress got up together and charged towards two other Light Armor Warriors.

As for the remaining two Light Armor Warriors:

Bang!

-1,456!

Skynet's shot struck the chest of a Light Armor Warrior. But, the bullet was not able to break through the defense; it only managed to slow down the momentum of the enemy's charge slightly.

Boom!

The good thing was that Ion Flame had released, with amazing speed, a condensed, highly explosive fireball. The targeted Light Armor Warrior reacted and dodged sideways, a reflex of the body's intrinsic fear of fire. This helped delay the warrior for a short period.

However, there was still one Light Armor Warrior left.

Watermelon Skin pressed his finger on the trigger of the Excellent Grade Level 50 sniper rifle. In spite of his bloodied face, his eyes stared straight into the sniping scope.

He was clearly determined to activate his talent and was ready to sacrifice himself to take the Light Armor Warrior's life, but before he could pull the trigger:

Bang!

A dent appeared on the upper left of the alloy armor. The Light Armor Warrior, who was charging at high speed towards them from behind the building, was suddenly jolted and flew in the air as if a giant hammer had hit him. It seemed certain that his bones and internal organs had been crushed.

Above his head, a five-digit red damage number appeared.

-10,460!

The white light of death flashed!

The Light Armor Warrior, who had not been attacked before this and thus had full HP, took a few more steps, propelled by the force of his charge, before collapsing on the ground. Blood flowed out of his body and formed a pool on the ground.

"Watermelon…"

Both My World and Steel Fortress, who had already charged forward, watched as the Light Armor Warrior collapsed, their bloodstained faces overcome with sadness.

At the time, they knew that Watermelon Skin had used his talent, Sacrificial Shot, and gave his life for this Light Armor Warrior.

Although death in a game was not the same as in real life, it was nonetheless the passing of a fellow teammate. As such, the two of them were quite sad.

However, now was not the time for grief.

Even though their mission was destined to fail, they wanted to kill as many enemies as possible to avenge their fallen comrades, including Grassy, Ultimate Heavy Armor, and the most recent loss, Watermelon Skin.

With a look of determination, the two warriors tried to intercept the enemies. Behind them, Watermelon Skin stared blankly ahead.

It was true that he was determined to die along with the Light Armor Warrior, but…

The thing is, he had not yet pulled the trigger! His finger was still on the trigger, but the Light Armor Warrior had already been killed, and in one shot.

Yes, one shot!

As a Sniper himself, he recognized that the bullet that struck the enemy's chest came from a sniper rifle.

Moreover, it was clear from the appearance of a single damage number that one shot had broken through the defense, and also emptied the full HP bar of the Light Armor Warrior, exceeding 10,000!

A five-digit damage number. It was impossible not to see it!

"What's this? Is this Skynet?"

The battle was indeed quite chaotic, as sounds of gunshots and energy explosions filled the area.

As such, Watermelon Skin was unable to determine the source of the gunshot. Since their team had only two Snipers, if it were not him, then it would have to be Skynet.

However, that seemed hard to believe.

Watermelon Skin thought about Skynet while still in shock.

"Watermelon Skin…"

At that moment, Skynet and Ion Flame were fighting against the lone Light Armor Warrior. Just like My World and the others, he also thought the shot had come from Watermelon Skin.

In Silvermoon City, he had seen Watermelon Skin use the talent. Even the giant octopus that evolved into a Quasi Boss lost over 30,000 HP following a shot from Watermelon Skin.

As such, Skynet did not think it was weird for him to take out one Light Armor Warrior in one shot.

At the moment, though, he had no time to look for Watermelon Skin.

The Light Armor Warrior was charging towards him, and Ion Flame was now less than 20 meters away. The warrior had even raised his alloy sword, the standard preparatory stance before warriors typically used their melee combat skill, Thunder Leap Slash.

Even though Watermelon Skin had traded his life for an enemy, the situation on the battlefield did not improve.

And it was not just him, My World and Steel Fortress, too, were disadvantaged in their battles against their enemies.

Losing one arm was too much for a Light Armor Warrior. When My World used one hand to parry the attacks from the enemy, the hits and clashes almost made him lose his weapon.

If it weren't for the high HP and high defense of Steel Fortress, a Heavy Armor Warrior, they would even have been pushed to the point where they had no chance of fighting back.

As for Dan Hen, even though he was very confident of his PK ability and his stiletto, "Water that was far away could never put out a nearby fire!"

Ion Flame and Tangerine had run out of MP. Although they had pulled out their pistols to help in the battles, they did not have bonus gunners. As such, they were not much of a threat to the low HP Light Armor Warrior, who had over 8,000 HP. They had no way of stopping their enemies.

Unless, Watermelon Skin could take another one out, providing the three long-range attackers the time and space to release skills that could support the other three melee players.

However, this clearly was not going to…

The Light Armor Warrior raised his sword and leaped into the air once he was within the 10-meter range. Then, with Thunder Leap Slash activated, he descended. However, another five-digit Fatal Damage number popped up above his head, too.

Bang!

-10,763!

By the time he landed on the ground, the white light of death had already visited him, and his eyes lost focus. In addition, energy crystals and all sorts of resources and potions fell on the ground!

Chapter 708: Dan Hen's Strength

Skynet, who had just put down his sniper rifle and pulled out his military knife to fight to his death, seemed stunned for a while.

"Dead?"

Blood was oozing out of a bullet hole that suddenly appeared on the back of the Light Armor Warrior's head in front of him. Naturally, there was no need to explain what had happened.

However, who fired that shot?

"What is going on?"

Wasn't Watermelon Skin already dead?

Why was someone still shooting?

Could it be that Watermelon Skin's talent could now be used more than once?

Skynet seemed perplexed. He turned around and looked left towards the place Watermelon Skin was lying.

And the result? He found that Watermelon Skin, as he lay on the ground, was looking at him just as shocked.

What was going on?

The two of them were not very far apart. Even though it was dark, given the eyesight of Snipers, they could still see each other's expression.

And, indeed, Watermelon Skin's expression was obvious.

It only meant one thing: He did not kill the Light Armor Warrior

This was evident from the location of the shot that had hit the Light Armor Warrior. The bullet had come from the right side of where they were. Skynet was shocked only to the extent that he had failed to notice it.

"There's another Sniper helping us out over here!"

Skynet reacted rather quickly and understood the reason almost instantly.

Moreover, this Sniper was someone who could kill a Light Armor Warrior in one shot. He also possessed incredible marksmanship.

The hidden Sniper's ability to kill the Light Armor Warrior easily did not surprise Skynet at all.

More people had begun to awaken the Force in the game, and the number of Legendary Grade weapons had also been increasing gradually. As such, if a Sniper were to possess both the Force and a Legendary Grade weapon, taking out a Light Armor Warrior equipped with only Excellent Grade gear would not be all that difficult.

The real surprise was the difficulty of the Sniper's shots.

Both the shots came less than a second apart. Furthermore, both bullets struck vital points.

As a Sniper himself, Skynet was fully aware of the difficulty of achieving this.

Had it been him, he certainly would not have been able to take aim and shoot in such a short time.

Or perhaps it was more accurate to say that even if he had been able to fire the second shot, the bullet's trajectory would not have been exact.

But, this Sniper managed to do it.

Ah!

Skynet's blank stare was interrupted by a painful grunt.

One of the fights nearby between the melee combatants had ended.

The neck of a Light Armor Warrior was punctured by Dan Hen's dark red stiletto. A Fatal Damage number of "-4,003" appeared above his head before he fell backward, eyes staring forward, on the ground.

In an exchange that lasted only a few seconds, even as he and his teammate surrounded the enemy, a Light Armor Warrior such as him had been put under the "Heavy Injury" status by this Scout player whom he had underestimated.

"This stiletto…"

The Light Armor Warrior wanted to speak to remind his teammate. However, the "Heavy Injury" status prevented him from speaking further. He managed to force his mouth open, but due to the puncture in his neck, only blood spilled out.

"F*ck…Old Seven…Heavy Gale Slash!"

The other Light Armor Warrior looked anxious. With his alloy sword that was imbued with a skill, he slashed ferociously at Dan Hen in an attempt to push back the Scout's hand that held the stiletto.

And just as he swung his alloy sword, a bloodstained arm covered in sand appeared in front of the alloy sword.

Ka!

The Light Armor Warrior severed the arm that had reached the damage limit.

However, the Light Armor Warrior was not happy at all. This was because the enemy had used the gap created by sacrificing his left arm to pull the stiletto out of the Light Armor Warrior's teammate with his right arm. Following that, using the bleeding effect from the ensuing wound, emptied the remaining HP of the Light Armor Warrior under the "Heavy Injury" status.

This made the surviving Light Armor Warrior feel a sense of terror.

Although it was said that scouts had a short timeframe for being on par with warriors in terms of melee combat, it usually only referred to the damage output.

Without the dynamic alloy armor, scouts were inferior to warriors in terms of their Strength, HP, and defense stats. They were only slightly better than warriors when it came to their agility.

With far more disadvantages, a fight between scouts and warriors would most likely end with the scouts suffering a complete defeat.

However, this Scout player was mounting incredible pressure on the Light Armor Warrior.

The good thing was that the bleeding caused by the severed limb pushed the Scout's already low HP lower, to less than 15%, which also put him in the "Weakened" state.

The Light Armor Warrior was confident that, with his almost full HP, he would not lose to a low-HP Scout player in an "Weakened" state.

As the Light Armor Warrior thought this, he gritted his teeth and raised his alloy sword. Then, he lunged towards Dan Hen, who had just pulled out his stiletto, and slashed.

However, at that moment, he felt a thump behind his head.

Bang!

And then…

There was nothing!

-11,345!

Panting heavily, Dan Hen was trying to determine the trajectory of the opponent's incoming attack in his dizzy state due to the "Weakened" status. Then, his face stiffened.

What… What was going on?

Ta, ta, ta

"Rumble"

Feng Luo leaped down off the roof of a tattered building and rolled on the ground.

This caused submachine gun bullets along with fireballs, wind blades, ice arrows, and continuous earth bullets to land in the area behind him.

Even though a few bullets struck his back, they were not able to break the dual-defense of his SUV combat uniform and tactical vest. They only reduced his HP by around 1,000, which was also the amount of HP he could recover in an instant.

"It was actually them."

With both feet buried in the sand, landing as he did from a roof over a dozen meters high, Feng Luo quickly got back on his feet and used Quick Sneak before rushing towards a building next to him.

He had a surprised look on his face.

He was initially going to use the tactic, "The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware the oriole is behind it."

As the second group focused on attacking the first, he would slowly and stealthily kill the people at the back of the second group before finishing off the rest.

The reason was that this military base site was unlike the battleground at the ruins near Lu Conglomerate City before.

Due to the number of buildings at the base, as well as the numerous walls, he could not shoot from a location that was very far away.

As such, to be noticed too early, even for a player like him would mean considerable danger. After all, the enemy had sufficient long-range firepower, and their attack range was also quite wide.

As Feng Luo observed the fight between the two sides once he reached the roof of one of the buildings — and thanks to Mu Zi's anti-detection ability and the cover of the night — he found out, to his surprise, that one of the groups was composed of Dan Hen and My World's squads.

The two squads were actually together. Moreover, they had been pursued by the players of an enemy faction to this location.

Feng Luo couldn't help but smile wryly.

Since this was the case, his original plan could no longer work: he could not let Watermelon Skin and the others become the live target of enemy fire.

Not only that, but he also had to do something and take out the enemy commanders first. Then, he would have to kill a few Light Armor Warriors to rescue Dan Hen and the crew.

However, even though he had to expose himself early, Feng Luo was still quite confident that he would be able to deal with them.

It was a testament to his confidence in his strength!

Chapter 709: Delighted Watermelon Skin

"Chase him!"

"Don't let him escape!"

"Take revenge for Big Brother!"

Over at where the Wolves and Golden Scorpions were, the chaos of the situation saw an ease due to Feng Luo changing the target of attack.

Due to Feng Luo's three consecutive shots, their coordinates were exposed, making these people engage firepower in rage upon finally finding his position!

However, their attacks were misses, and the opponent jumped straight down from the roof.

Half of their concentrated firepower was blocked by the surrounding structures.

But it would already be sufficient just having discovered the opponent's position.

In a team of a bunch of Scout players with quite a few of them with good equipment, did he still think he could escape after his position had been exposed?

"Just what…on earth is going on?"

Behind the abandoned infrastructure were Skynet and the other people. They were already temporarily free from the attacks of the people chasing them and had gotten a chance to catch their breaths.

Looking at the three Light Armored Warrior corpses, all of them exchanged glances and Dan Hen creased his forehead. Each warrior had been killed by one sniper bullet shot and their bodies were scattered on the ground.

"You have an automatically received message!"

Just then, Watermelon Skin's communicator sounded.

Automatic receive—this meant that there was no need to accept it, the communicator would connect automatically!

Typically, many players would not engage this setting, and would even especially switch off the communicator notifications in combat.

This was because sudden messages could seriously affect battle, and even expose one's position.

However, Watermelon Skin first froze upon hearing the message.

Then it was like he had thought of something as his face suddenly lit up. He immediately asked curiously,

"Big Brother Feng?"

"Big Brother Feng?"

My World and the others froze altogether.

Just then, upon hearing the certain answer in the communicator, Watermelon Skin was delighted.

"Oh, alright, alright!"

The interaction was very short and it was cut off in just less than 10 seconds, but Watermelon Skin was full of delight.

"Watermelon, what's up?"

My World and Iron Fortress, as well as the female Medic Azure, all looked towards him, looking like they had a guess.

"Could it be…"

"It's Big Brother Feng! They are doing a mission in this ruin and saw us. It was their move just now!"

Watermelon Skin nodded to his three companions.

"No way, what a coincidence!"

"It's actually Big Brother Feng, no wonder!"

"So it's Brother Feng…"

My World and the others were glad and joyful.

Dan Hen, Skynet, and Ion Flame also realized who it was that Watermelon Skin was talking about; they were all first shocked and then had the "no wonder" expression.

The reason for the shock was mainly that this situation was really a little beyond expectation.

They had actually met Feng Luo deep in this Death Desert!

No one could shoot as well as Feng Luo, and they realized it must be him.

"Other than Brother Feng, I really can't think of any Sniper who can have such shooting skills!"

Skynet sounded like he was full of admiration and certainty.

In awhile, the eight of them who had initially defeated three Light Armored Warriors were so happy to emerge from their state of desperation. However, their conditions were precarious and they still had no clue about what was going on.

Even Dan Hen heaved a sigh of relief!

"Right, what did Brother Feng just say?"

My World asked Watermelon Skin.

"He wants us to cooperate with him to engage in an attack once we've recovered for a bit, to end this bunch of people here!"

Watermelon Skin raised his sniper rifle and said with an expression of delight and trust, as well as excitement in preparation for revenge.

"F*ck, why can't we find him?"

"He's clearly hiding nearby!"

In the enemy camp, the few Scout players' faces had currently turned grave.

"This won't do, can't find a trace of him at all!"

"It's either that Sniper has super powerful anti-detection skill or equipment, or there are still Scouts hiding nearby!"

They had already clearly discovered the opponent's position just now and the gap between both parties was not considered far; though there was infrastructure blockage, it was still impossible that there was completely no indication on the Recon Meter.

And even though it was through a strengthened Detection effect, they still did not discover that Sniper's position!

This made the group of Scouts, who were initially very assured of being able to catch hold of this Sniper who had already killed close to 10 of their men, turn pale one by one.

If it were in the daytime or on another map in the night-time, it would still be fine because they could use the night vision device or telescope to detect the sniper using normal vision. It would be useless if the opponent had anti-detection skills.

However, this Death Desert map was full of disrupting substances, while night vision tools were also seriously affected by the red light present everywhere.

To find the opponent's location directly by vision was impossible when the opponent did not have gunfire!

"Light Armored Warriors, hurry, we must find him!"

Luckily, they still had another backup.

The remaining three Light Armored Warriors had engaged Charge skill and were all holding weapons, running to circle the location where Feng Luo had last disappeared!

Three Light Armored Warriors, could they not contain a Sniper?

If they had known why the previous three Light Armored Warriors had died so quickly without having the time to pass the message back to them, these people definitely would not have had such a thought!

But they obviously still did not know.

But it did not matter as, right off, these people experienced it for themselves with stunned expressions!

"Ping!"

With a gunshot, a sniper bullet shot out from an inconspicuous dark spot in the middle region of a building, making a distance of over 100 meters at one-tenth of a second.

"-11345!"

The body of one of the three Light Armored Warriors in Charge turned into a bow-shape, the white light of death appearing mercilessly on his suddenly halted body!

"F*ck me…"

"Over there!"

When the people behind them had determined the general position of the opponent from the gunshot, their slightly lagged attacks were a miss once more!

"Ping!"

A second later, yet another person from the two remaining Light Armored Warriors fell to the ground!

"F*ck…"

This situation made the last Light Armored Warrior no longer dare to charge over.

He cursed as he hurriedly leaped into a building on the way, panting hard!

After this update, something worth mentioning was that the Warrior's Charge skill had gotten a great deal of adjustment.

Now, this skill was the same as Gunners' firearms, without cooldown time.

That's right, Warriors can now use Charge at will to approach the target at high speed.

This update had definitely multiplied the threat of Warrior players to long-range professions such as Gunners and Manipulators.

It must be made known, the basic speed of Expert-Grade Charge was already 300%—this meant that to most Light Armored Warriors, a distance of 100 meters just needed around three seconds!

Luckily, movement was restricted, just like how firearms cannot be fired when hot.

After engaging Charge there would be a continuous consumption of huge amounts of strength, plus the higher the speed enhancement of Charge, the faster the reduction of strength; once strength reached 50%, one would no longer be able to use the Charge skill.

Therefore, even if it were Warriors with extremely fast strength recovery, it was impossible to use Charge continuously without end!

Chapter 710: Frantic Escape

The last Light Armored Warrior had given up and hidden away to one side. The Manipulator and Scout players behind him who were initially attacking them were at first a little stunned.

Then, one by one, they hurriedly retreated behind the SUVs.

This could not be completely blamed on them being timid, it was really the two Light Armored Warriors being killed consecutively at once. This made them feel an even greater threat than they did previously!

On their side, the Manipulators and Machine Gunners who were killed were ultimately all vulnerable professions. Furthermore, that Earth Manipulator's forcefield was not full either—it was still acceptable that they were killed by one sniper shot from the opponent!

But now it was two Light Armored Warriors that had been killed.

Moreover, they were Light Armored Warriors who had taken potions and with a lot more than 10,000 health.

In the end, they were still killed by the opponent with one shot!

Plus it was amidst high-speed Charge—in such an environment, with their visions unable to clearly decipher movement, they were still effortlessly hit in the critical points by the opponent!

With this attack power along with this difficulty, anyone who did not flee would be a fool.

"F*ck…"

"How could there be such a rad Sniper? Don't tell me it's someone in the top 100 of the ability ranking!"

One by one, the Wolves and Golden Scorpion players hid near the SUVs as they cursed and discussed.

Many of their faces were filled with panic, and they even had fear in their eyes.

There was no choice, the opponent only needed one shot for Light Armored Warriors—it was clearly impossible for them vulnerable ones to take one bullet from the opponent!

With so many of them, if they were to rush out and attack together, the single opponent would certainly have no way of killing all of them immediately. They would definitely rather have the chance to focus their firepower and kill the opponent.

Despite that, the problem was that everyone was selfish, given the current situation, and no one was willing to be the sacrifice.

After all, if one was chosen by the opponent as the target and was hit by an incoming shot, then there would be no possibility at all for a narrow escape—death would strip one of Levels and also equipment!

Although it was now easier to level back up after losing Levels and equipment, equipment could be picked up by one's companions. After all, no one wanted to die even once!

Besides, if they died, having gone through one night's worth of a tough mission would have gone to waste!

Hence, it was in any f*cking way better to have someone else die than oneself.

It was best to have those from the Wolves or Golden Scorpion teams die!

Hence, a bizarre scene appeared on the battlefield—one side was clearly still left with 30 to 40 people but all were hiding behind structures or the SUVs, not showing themselves to attack!

Whereas on the other side, there was just one person who was containing enemies of over 10 times more in number with one sniper rifle in hand!

If other people were to see this scene, they would feel pity—this was the deterrence power of a Sniper!

Oh, wrong, it's the deterrence power of War's top Sniper!

"F*ck, a Sniper!"

"Wait, we have Snipers too…"

The Wolves and Golden Scorpion people suddenly thought of something amidst cursing.

They had Snipers as well; since normal regions of activity in Death Forest were quite restrictive to Snipers, the teams only had one or two Snipers respectively!

But despite this, they were still Snipers!

Why the f*ck were they of no use at all, in such a situation, couldn't they at least stand out and counterattack?

If you don't defeat the opponent Sniper as a Sniper, then what are you there for?

"Ping!"

"Ping!"

Just when they were thinking spitefully like that, two consecutive sniper gunshots had sounded!

Thereafter, here on their side, the head of a Sniper player, who was prone at the edge of a building, fell to the ground! The Sniper player had not been counterattacking that one-shot Sniper.

"F*ck, again!?"

"We're already hidden, how can he still hit us?"

"Wrong, this is a gunshot! It's not that Sniper!" someone realized.

This time, the location of the source of the sniper bullet was not opposite them. It was in the direction of the first bunch of people they had chased, and they had already been quiet for some time.

The position they were hiding in now aided in avoiding the shooting angle of that one-shot Sniper as much as possible.

However, they did not notice that they had been exposed in the field of vision of the people they had chased!

"Ping!"

A bullet went through a Normal SUV with a defense coefficient that was not considered high, then drilled through a Scout player's helmet at the left temple, and shot out once more from the right side through a huge bloody hole.

It carried boiling hot blood that splattered the sand on the ground. The ground was radiating red light!

"-9945!"

The 25th!

After firing this bullet, Feng Luo unhesitatingly took a few steps diagonally backward, effortlessly dodging the opponent's following few counterattacks!

From the moment he had killed the only opponent Machine Gunner player, it had only been over two minutes!

Two minutes, 25 heads.

This rate was even higher than the previous killing of the September Guild people!

The reason for the great increase in rate was naturally because, after the system update, sniper rifles did not have the highly limiting "cooldown time".

To a Normal Sniper, this was not too meaningful, but to a top Sniper, this could be multiplied fatality!

Besides, such a rate was also owing to the effort of Watermelon Skin and his people who, even though did not kill many, had forced these people into a difficult spot.

And it was also due to the effort of Mu Zi and the other three who had joined in the battle halfway.

This battle was not just a battle of his own, but a mini team battle.

Hmm…I must say that it was able to be so smooth thanks to another system update, which was the update of "players in combat state would be unable to engage in pet summoning and retrieving".

This restriction, to him who already had 24K in slumber, was not too meaningful, but at least he was able to reduce the combat power of the players on the other side by at least one-third.

After all, with Feng Luo's current thought processing speed towards other players' skills, the attack methods they had, as well as other things, it could be said that his mental reaction could be analyzed easily within a second.

From there, he could dodge or respond accurately at a reaction speed way faster than normal people!

However, if the opponents summoned pets, then the battle would not be so easy.

The combat power of Normal and Elite-Grade pets was not considered strong.

Despite this, the special abilities of some pets were quite decent—they would be able to unleash a complementary effect when matched well, hand in glove, with the player.

If it were close to 50 pets together in the battle, it would undoubtedly magnify the difference in numbers between the two sides—even he, Feng Luo, would have fallen into much trouble!

"Ping!"

"-10340!"

After Feng Luo stepped back and dodged the attacks, with a turn and holding the Wings of Death, he jumped onto the roof of the abandoned building beside him in a few steps!

After this, he propped up the Wings of Death once more and opened fire.

This time, the bullets shot out from the Wings of Death rifle were covered with a layer of black. In such a dark environment, the trajectory in the air was close to nothing, but when it hit, it went straight through the head of a Heavy Armored Warrior. He had absorbed much damage and was brandishing an Alloy Sword, creating conditions for the backlines to output.

["You have killed an enemy camp player, according to the battle process, Merit earned: 1!"]

It was the 26th one, and he had gotten 15 Merit points!

The main thing was that it was not that the system would reward Merit points for killing just anyone, especially if it were some players who could not pose him any damage threat.

This also dashed the hopes of some people who were not lacking in money and wanted to make use of the camp's rewards to spend credits and buy people to farm Merit.

"F*ck…"

The death of the Heavy Armored Warrior had made the Wolves and Golden Scorpion players, who already had less than 20 people, hopelessly lose their battle will.

They currently had the upper hand in terms of numbers. The problem was that the professions that could truly threaten the opponent Sniper had all died!

Right, they had all died!

In their team, there was a total of just nine Light Armored Warriors. Even the last Light Armored Warrior, unable to stand being continuously scolded by another small Scout team, had lifted his Alloy Sword and charged out!

The result was not much different from the outcomes of the previous two Light Armored Warriors—he was busted in the head with one shot.

It was said that the Manipulators and Gunners being killed had made them afraid. Then, the Light Armored Warriors being similarly killed by the opponent would have made them panic.

But this panic was definitely not as much as the pressure over 10 seconds ago when the team's first Heavy Armored Warrior was similarly killed by the opponent!

Even though that Heavy Armored Warrior had lost over one-third of health due to the counterattack from that bunch of people they were chasing, that remaining health was still up to 10,000, even close to 15,000. He was still effortlessly slain.

Even if that had been said over 10 seconds ago, it wouldn't have mattered—if Heavy Armored Warriors could be killed so easily, the team didn't stand a chance.

Perhaps the opponent had made use of some special bullet, or possibly the skill of the Legendary Sniper rifle in the opponent's hands. Hopefully this kind of skill could only be used once.

N ow, the second Heavy Armored Warrior was being slain too.

Quickly, flip the remaining people's battle mentality!

Fight, how to fight? Fight with what?

There was not one Light Armored Warrior left, Medics and Scouts had all died, and Snipers were useless.

They were left with a bunch of Manipulators and Heavy Armored Warriors. Initially, they had still intended to use the SUVs and Heavy Armored Warriors' shields to defend themselves , but they realized in the end that these two were unable to block that one-shot Sniper across from them!

"Retreat! I quit this fight!"

The initiator was at the front of the SUV line and nobody knew who he was. Water curtains, firewalls, wind barriers, and other vision-disrupting skills suddenly rose one after another.

After this, the remaining fewer than 20 players frantically rushed towards the last few SUVs!

Both Wolves and Golden Scorpion had chosen to retreat. At this time, the two mercenary teams that were usually in conflict now had no spare time to scold and attack each other.

One by one, they just wanted to retreat first, to leave the sniping range of this Sniper!

Or, to be more precise, they just wanted to flee!

They still had close to 20 people remaining and if they were to rush into some of the abandoned buildings of the military base, they should still have a chance to turn the tables!

However, this chance might not mean much at all.

Initially, even with close to 50 people, they were unable to compromise with each other. Now, with just fewer than 20 people, could they still triumph?

It must be made known that the opponent was not alone either, but with more than 10 helpers!

Besides, what was more important was that the Golden Scorpion people had already fought to be the first to retreat. Would the Wolves people not retreat to clean up after the Golden Scorpion people?

"F*ck, dream on!"

When the water curtain and firewall skills were used up, seven or eight Energy SUVs charged at full speed out of the military base in the opposite direction, into the desert .

Left on the battlefield were more than 20 corpses, as well as many prizes and even equipment that were unable to be retrieved!

However, on the roof of an abandoned structure, that Sniper was not concerned about those prizes. He was behind the propped-up Wings of Death sniper rifle, swiftly pointing the scope at the fleeing vehicles!

Perhaps these people did not know.

How foolish they were, turning their backs and fleeing from a Sniper who could snipe people in SUVs!

This was already proven three days before with a September Guild Energy SUV!

Chapter 711: Sharing the Mission

"Ping!"

"-8678!"

A bullet traveled a distance of close to 500 meters, zoomed past the side of a toppled SUV on its side, and caught up with a Wind Manipulator who had jumped off a vehicle and was hurriedly fleeing.

After shattering the faint green layer of Energy Forcefield, the high-speed spinning double armor-piercing bullet first tore through his Energy robe, then drilled out through the front of his chest with a splatter of blood and the white light of death!

"The 37th!"

Feng Luo counted in his head as he stood up holding the Wings of Death.

The remaining two SUVs had already gone behind the tall dune across from him and had driven out of his shooting range.

However, the two SUVs left behind a glorious battle outcome!

At intervals, SUVs were scrapped or missing their engines. Fallen players' corpses surrounded the SUVs and beams of white light representing the piles of prizes surrounded those corpses!

In this battle, he had killed a total of 37 people. The opponent was only left with five people who had boarded two SUVs and escaped.

But these people probably did not have a high chance of escaping!

The Death Forest was still an entire 100 kilometers from here and the number of monsters along the way would not be few.

Feng Luo did not believe that their luck would have been so good to allow them to be able to escape.

"Big Brother Feng!"

When the last enemy had been defeated, from Feng Luo's side came the voice of Watermelon Skin. He also stood up holding a sniper rifle, his face full of admiration and delight.

"Brother Feng… Big Brother Feng…"

Calling out to him as well were My World, who had a broken arm, Iron Fortress, and Colorless Azure in a white Medic attire.

"Old Little Brother Feng, Brother Feng!"

Of course, there was Dan Hen and the other two, and Mu Zi and the rest walking towards them from another direction.

"Old Brother Dan Hen, we meet again!"

Feng Luo first nodded to Watermelon and the others, then looked at Dan Hen and said with a smile,

"Yeah…since we separated at Silvermoon City, this is the first time we've met!"

Feng Luo's voice had a tinge of pity .

When he spoke of Silvermoon City, his tone sounded slightly upset.

"Mm, let's keep these supplies and equipment on the ground first, then talk in the base…the blood all over this floor might attract some monsters with an acute sense of smell!"

Seeing him like this, Feng Luo felt that it was probably the fact that Silvermoon City had been conquered that Dan Hen felt hurt. Thus, he did not want to bother Dan Hen further and changed the topic.

A few minutes later, everyone including the reinforcements was already standing at the ground level of the building. This is where Feng Luo and the others had come out previously, from the underground base deeply buried in sand.

With illumination that was not made too bright and through a simple exchange of information, Feng Luo understood the reason for My World and the others coming here!

The last time, when Feng Luo had met Watermelon Skin, the serial mission they were on had already entered its last section.

The goal of the mission was to locate and retrieve an important item in the Death Forest, which was taken out from the NPC internal authority by a Federal spy agent. This agent had infiltrated the anti-government NPC camp before he was being hunted!

The difficulty of the mission was pretty high, as the Levels of the monsters in the Death Forest were not low. Plus, it was the territory of the anti-government NPC authority!

The My World team and the others were now already on par with mainstream players as they had sold the Permanent Enhancement Potion. Obtained from killing the quasi-BOSS octopus previously, the potion was in addition to the equipment gifted by Feng Luo's updating of everyone's equipment.

Despite this, they were powerless to enter the Death Forest.

But, coincidentally at this time, My World and the others from Silvermoon City had become friends with Skynet and the others, and the team of Dan Hen and the others was also going on a mission in the Death Forest.

Hence, after the two parties had discussed their plan, they decided to work together.

The mission had gone on pretty smoothly as the mission target item was hidden in a region that was not considered dangerous. They had succeeded in claiming the target item.

However, they had not expected that the moment they retrieved the item, they would be wanted by the NPC authority.

Although this wanted order was not given directly by the NPC army, it had announced a mission with attractive rewards to those Adventurers in the camp!

There were not many players under the NPC authority—there were just over 10 people in their two teams and it was therefore impossible to battle with the opponent at all.

Being forced, they had instead chosen to go deep into the Death Desert from the Death Forest to make use of the dangerous region to deter the opponent.

Or, even if they were undeterred, they only had to meet some powerful monsters along the way. Then, the teams would have the chance to slip away!

However, who would have thought that after walking the entire 100 kilometers and reaching this base, they had yet to meet a single high-level monster of Commander-Grade and above—it was as if these monsters had been held at bay by two lines of huge vehicles.

After that, once they were at the military base, they finally had their SUVs destroyed by the attacks from behind them, forcing them to alight!

If they had not met Feng Luo, the mission that they had spent an entire month on would have failed by now.

"What is your mission item?"

Listening up to this point, Dai asked curiously.

"Dai!"

Rose Thorns suddenly shouted. Her forehead creased and she shot him a look.

This question should definitely not be asked.

After all, since they risked earning a wanted order by NPCs, the item would surely be very valuable. Nobody would be willing to reveal its whereabouts.

It must be made known, the freedom in War missions was very high—it was not that you had to follow procedures once you have accepted a mission, and it was also not that you would surely get the rewards when you have completed the mission.

Just like on Devil Tri-Horn Island previously, Feng Luo and the others did not operate according to the mission procedures, but had obtained the BOSS Chip by entering the central base!

Another example was that, previously, Feng Luo had been at the Withered Desert when he killed that Desert Ant Queen BOSS and passed a series of missions. He then claimed the black Light Armored Warrior Dark Life Protozoa!

Due to these reasons, something like this important item involving missions would typically not be asked about in detail.

Therefore, Rose Thorns brought this to Dai's attention.

"Ahem…actually there's no need to keep it too much of a secret either, the mission item is a safe that's not considered large."

"But that box is very firm and has strict encryption, so we don't know the general situation yet…Our mission requirement is to bring the box back, then hand it to the NPC and we'd earn Merit and item rewards!"

My World voiced out, easing the slight awkwardness as a result of what Dai had said.

"Right, Big Brother Feng, this mission still accepts members now!"

"As long as the number of people is within the upper limit, those with sufficient contribution upon participating in the mission would all be able to find the NPC and claim the rewards. Let us share the mission with you…"

Azure thought of the mission and said to Feng Luo, looking at him with anticipation.

"That's right!"

Watermelon Skin's eyes lit up as well.

Chapter 712: Mission: Entrustment of Master Side

"Well…"

Feng Luo was deep in thought for a bit, contemplating whether to reject or not.

My World's and Iron Fortress's eyes lit up. Seeing their reactions, he changed his words instantly.

"Wouldn't it affect your mission rewards?"

"Nope. Of course not!"

Azure shook her head with a look of joy.

Thereafter, she turned to look towards Mu Zi and the others, and said awkwardly, "This mission is only left with one quota, so…"

"Doesn't matter. We haven't been of much help before that anyway."

Mu Zi and the others naturally knew why she was in a difficult position. Thus, they voiced out their concerns, especially Dai who had previously spoken a little impulsively.

"My World is sharing the mission 'Entrustment of the Federal Military and Master Side'. Do you accept?"

Afterward, an inquiry notification came from the system that My World, as the first recipient of the mission, was sharing the mission with Feng Luo.

When Feng Luo saw the name of the mission, he was shocked once again. "Master!"

Clearly, this mission of Mu Zi and the others should be related to a Master-grade life profession NPC.

The returns for such a mission weren't at all bad. If anything, they were completely unexpected.

Feng Luo had chosen to accept. "Accept."

"Big Brother Feng, I'm really still a little worried that you wouldn't accept our mission. If you didn't, we'd be greatly indebted to you!"

Seeing that Feng Luo had accepted the mission, Azure and Watermelon Skin were really happy.

Watermelon Skin and the others felt like they owed Feng Luo. Aside from Feng Luo previously gifting them equipment, it was, more importantly, Old John's mission rewards at Silvermoon City.

Last time at Silvermoon City, after completing the mission of protecting Old John, Old John had given a promise to every player who had accepted the mission.

To create a piece of equipment for free, not limited by level, as long as they provided the raw material, even a Legendary-grade was possible. Even My World and Watermelon Skin who had died in the mission had a portion of this reward.

The value of this reward could not be determined at that time, but now the price was outrageous!

Although the quantity of Legendary equipment in the game was now increasing each day, the price these days was rather continuously rising due to a large amount of capital injected into it, as well as the officials declaring the news of universal enhancement.

As of today, the price of a piece of Legendary equipment with average attributes had inflated to one billion credits, let alone even more precious Legendary-grade weapons.

That also meant that as long as Old John's mission reward was taken, then the few of them would be on their way to becoming billionaires. Even if the costs of the tax and preparation of materials were subtracted, their profits would still be unimaginable.

To My World's team, who had been at the mid-bottom of the game before meeting Feng Luo, this was really a huge deal.

Although the Legendary equipment was rewarded by an NPC, after they had gone back and thought diligently, they felt that solely by their performance in the mission, it wasn't possible at all to earn a piece of Legendary equipment, not to mention still being able to earn Legendary equipment when they had clearly lost two people.

There should only be one explanation for this: Old John was Feng Luo's employee. Feng Luo had very likely made use of his relationship with the NPC to take good care of them.

Therefore, the few of them in My World's team were truly thankful to Feng Luo.

"Skynet, regarding yours and Ultimate's two custom equipment, y'all go over soon. Confirm what kind of look and attribute requirements y'all need."

Speaking about Legendary equipment, Feng Luo recalled that other than Watermelon Skin and the others, Skynet and Ultimate Heavy Armor had also completed the mission.

"Brother Feng, you're saying…it's about done."

Upon hearing that, Skynet's eyes instantly lit up, understanding something.

"Hmm… Just a while. I should be able to accumulate five billion credits to purchase manufacturing equipment. Until then, Feng Zhi Hen Workshop would be able to accept custom Legendary equipment orders."

Feng Luo nodded.

"Five billion credits! It's actually too much. This capital investment is really horrifying enough."

Hearing that, Watermelon Skin and the others were unable to utter a word in surprise.

In this current situation, where Legendary equipment was of high prices, it sounded like five billion credits was the price of just five pieces of Legendary equipment.

But who would calculate it that way?

Creating Legendary equipment required capital. It wasn't like just one piece would be able to fetch one billion credits.

Material fees, instrument wear-and-tear fees, plus the tax by the system, the necessary NPC manpower costs…

Adding all of these together, the five billion credits definitely wouldn't be a cost that just a few pieces of Legendary equipment would be able to cover for.

Perhaps, even if they were all counted as the highest price, at least over 10 or 20 pieces would possibly cover the costs, and this didn't include already agreeing to create the six pieces of Legendary equipment for Skynet, Watermelon Skin, and the others for free.

However, even if it was greater than five billion, say, 10 billion, Feng Luo would definitely invest now.

Because after the game company had announced about the universal enhancement, this business was already certain to be impossible to be at a loss.

"Legendary equipment!"

Mu Zi and the others looked at My World and company with astonishment and envy as soon as they understood it.

This was a piece of Legendary equipment. Considering the meaning of this game as of today, the value of a piece of custom-made Legendary equipment would definitely be above the measurement of Star Coins.

Of course, it was after knowing that the Legendary equipment from Old John could soon be ordered.

Dai and the others were overjoyed. Although Old John only customized Warrior equipment and firearms, he didn't have any Manipulators.

As for the issue concerning funds, although they still didn't have that much money, there was a galactic warship coming up.

"Right, Big Brother Feng." Just then, Azure asked curiously, "How come y'all would come here?"

Mu Zi and the others didn't answer immediately, but all looked towards Feng Luo, clearly letting him decide to respond.

Because compared with Watermelon Skin and the others' mission, the significance of a galactic warship was even greater.

It was possibly even greater than the worth of 10 pieces of Legendary equipment.

Seeing the expressions of Mu Zi and the others, Dan Hen and the others were at a loss for words, then regained their senses, and were about to change the topic.

Feng Luo had already spoken directly. "We've come to do a mission. In the end, we've discovered some things underground of this desert…"

"What? A galactic warship?" someone commented as soon as Feng Luo finished speaking.

Dan Hen, Watermelon Skin, and the others were all taken by the information of galactic warship.

After which, they were side-eyeing in envy instead.

Truly, most players were very clear about the significance of a galactic warship.

Although they didn't know how battered the galactic warship underground was, even if it was left with just a shell, it would definitely still be of value—this was the first galactic warship discovered in the game at the present time.

Feng Luo scanned through all of them and realized that Watermelon Skin, Ion Flame, and the others didn't have any unusual expressions other than envy.

This made him more satisfied with his decision.

Feng Luo didn't hide much, as he was very trusting towards the characters of My World, Dan Hen, and these people. He was confident that they wouldn't have the thought of snatching the outcomes of the galactic warship discovery.

Besides, even if someone had actually exposed it, it would be nothing much.

Because over at where Mu Wu was, the operation should have already been almost there. Here, a city-building region should be applied soon.

Then, until the Federal army came, they would engage in the city-building clearing mission with the Nightless players.

"City-building? Brother Feng, you've already joined a guild, and you still have to build a city here?"

With Feng Luo talking about the city-building, My World, Skynet, and the four of them were obviously delighted; whereas Dan Hen and Ion Flame observed the surroundings hesitatingly.

"Hmm… The first consideration is this region, but the general location has yet to be totally confirmed."

Feng Luo nodded with a smile.

"Then would we be able to join your guild?" Watermelon Skin asked with anticipation, looking delighted as he awaited Feng Luo's response.

"Well, of course you'd be welcomed!" Feng Luo replied, smiling.

Now that Feng Luo was already Nightless' boss, he was naturally able to be in control of members joining.

Moreover, the characters of My World's team completely met the standards of the deciding factor of who to rope in in the future. Plus, their current abilities weren't bad either. Not long later, there would be another four people able to get Legendary equipment.
