In this world where the use of magic or any other unnatural things is forbidden, one phenomena is something noone could avoid not even Uther Pendragon. And it is the soulmark. Everyone in the world have soulmark except a few who are very unlucky. Even Uther Pendragon have the name Yggraine which used to be green but now black after her demise on the back of his palm. And Arthur have the name Gueneviere on his forearm in blue. While it never fails to bring a smile on his face when looking at his soulmark it always brings a question to his brain. Merlin. In all of their years of, dare he say friendship not once did he mention his soulmark. It never fails to bring a frown whenever Arthur thought about it. The mystery of his soulmark is something not only Arthur thought of. The question has entered the brains of the queen and also the knights of roundtable all being the closest to Merlin. But all chalked it up to Merlin being the few of the unlucky to not have a soulmate. While it always saddened to think that his friend would be alone forever, Merlin himself never seems to be saddened at the prospect which gave him some relief.
King Arthur, Queen Gueneviere, and the Kights of the Round Table all are gathered in the king's chambers. Looking at everyone present Arthur got a dejavu at how everyone here are the people of the original roundtable bar Merlin. A frown makes its way on his face as he looks at Gwaine who requested this meeting asking specifically that Merlin not be present. Since Merlin is the topic of the meeting now.
"You must have mistaken Gwaine. Did you see it correctly?" Leon's question repeating the third time must have snapped his nerves as he bangs his fists on the table with force.
"How many times do I have to say it!? What I saw is real! Merlin has a soulmark on his collarbone and it is in black with the name FREYA!" He shouts frustrated.
"Gwaine we understand your frustration but don't you think he would have mentioned it any one of us at one point?" Gwen tries to assure him and Lancelot answers.
"Maybe what Gwaine is saying is true Gwen. Afterall Merlin always wears his neckkerchif which hides his mark perfectly." He then turns to Arthur with a serious look "But I advice not to ask him about this Arthur. It is his secret to share and if he don't want to then it is his wish."
Arthur shakes his head at that. "No, I don't think so. He must be grieving! I heard of the stories of people who lost their soulmates, how deep the grief goes and I in no way will stand aside and let my friend grieve alone."
His statement silences Lancelot and he nods at Arthur approval in his eyes. Arthur looks at everyone and they all nod each of them going in different directions in search of their friend.
