The only good thing was that they had already completed their drop, so there was no need to delay. Even so, it seemed to take too long to get Mark into the Medical Center. Then April had to sit in the waiting area, fretting until they finally let her in to see Mark. The staff already knew the futility of telling a partnered team that visiting wasn't allowed.

Mark was paler than usual, but gave her a smile and reached a hand out to her.

"Sorry, luv."

Taking his hand, she tsked.

"Goose. Why are you apologizing to me?"
