Episode 312: Fall of the Elemental Bosses

Shortly after the death of Zell, the Elemental Bosses arrived in front of the group. Sora was tired from the fighting he was doing against them, but he couldn't let any more of Team Rocket's fans have their way.

The group of four stood before the group, ready to finish this fight once and for all.

"It ends right here and now, Ketchum," Ozean said.

"If it's a fight you want, then you'll have one," May said, summoning her Keyblade, but Sora stopped her.

"No, May. Not this time," Sora said.

"What? Why not?" May asked.

"Because it's my fight. They want me and they'll have me," Sora said.

"Sora, you don't stand a chance against all four of them by yourself," Rei said.

"You never know unless you try, right?" Sora asked.

"Sora, you're exhausted from that fight against Zell, and that last attack has taken a whole lot out of you," Hikaru said.

"Hikaru's right, Sora! You're strong, but you're not an invincible superhero! You have limits!" Riku said.

"I know, but I have to stop them," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said with worry.

"Pika," Xipak said, sharing Pikachu's worries. Sora held his Keyblade tightly, ready to engage the Elemental Bosses.

"Look at this. He's planning on taking all of us on!" Rokku stated.

"Then he's even stupider than I thought. This is going to be fun!" Fue said, laughing.

"Well, it's his funeral," Luft said.

"And that idiot Zell isn't here to hold us back this time!" Rokku said.

"Maybe not, but we're more than a match for him! Let's get him!" Ozean said.

"Right!" The other three Elemental Bosses stated. Ozean raised his trident and slammed it on the ground as water quickly surrounds the five of them. Pikachu attempts to join in, but fire emits around them, preventing them from coming. "Let the final battle begin!" A powerful wind blows Sora's way. He held his Kingdom Key tightly and he engaged the Elemental Bosses.

Rokku slammed his hammer down and the earth began to break apart and pillars of stones erupts from the ground. Fue unleashed a stream of fire from her daggers as Luft swings his mace at Sora.

Sora managed to roll out of the way and he blocked Luft's mace, holding it. Ozean twirls his trident with water splashing beside him. He sends the water right at Sora who casts a reflect spell to make the water bounce off. Fue lunges forward as Sora dodges from left to right. Fue swings her daggers, making Sora lean backwards before the daggers cuts him. Luft forms a tornado around his legs and he sends out another tornado to engulf Sora.

"I got him!" Luft stated.

"Good! Here's a little something to give him!" Rokku said, slamming the earth with his hammer. Stones pop out of the ground and he bats them inside the tornado as Fue unleashed a stream of fire and Ozean unleashed a stream of water. Sora was being struck by the elements. Rocks pelted him and he's getting burned by the embers. The tornado then slammed on the ground with Sora being slammed on the ground, hard. Sora tried to cast a cure spell to heal his injuries, but Rokku just kicked him before he could get that chance.

"Oh, don't mind me! I thought I'd kick you while you're down!" Rokku laughed. Sora spat out some blood from his mouth.

"You're a bunch of cowards. Ganging on someone when they're down. Team Rocket never had any honor," Sora said.

"Honor is for losers," Rokku said.

"You don't get to run the world and be number one by being honorable," Luft said.

"You get to run the world by being ruthless and relentless! That's what it's all about! We spread the fear of Team Rocket to all around, and what you did was made everyone forget their fears by taking them down and destroyed our dream!" Ozean darkly said.

"And for that, you will die!" Fue said. She attempts to lunge at Sora, but he rolls before she could stab him. "Hold still, you brat!"

"Rokku, stop him!" Ozean ordered.

"I'm on it!" Rokku said, stomping on the ground, making it difficult for Sora to roll around. He then manipulates the earth, forming a hand, grabbing Sora in a grip.

The rest of the group could only watch in horror, fearing for Sora's life.

"Sora!" Kairi gasped.

"Leave my brother alone!" Karen shouted.

"Yeah! Let him go!" Ventus shouted.

"Shut up!" Rokku snapped at them. He then held his head.

We look into Vexen's lab through Rokku's point of view. He sees Vexen standing over him.

"Soon, my puppets, you'll have new memories. You will know everything that I want you to know," Vexen said. He chuckled to himself.

"What do you mean by knowing what you want us to know?" Rokku asked.

"It means that you won't remember that you're puppets, and that you will believe that you're real people, dedicated in avenging Team Rocket," Vexen said.

"But why?" Rokku asked.

"It's no use answering that question, because the next time you wake up, you will not remember this little conversation," Vexen said as Rokku blacked out. Rokku held his head.

"Hey, rock-head!" Luft said. Rokku snapped out of it and looked at him.

"Huh? What?" Rokku asked.

"What's with you? You spacing out?" Luft asked.

"I don't know," Rokku said, shaking his head. He then said in his thoughts, "What the hell is going on? What was that? How come I didn't remember it until just now?"

He shook it off as he jumped and swings his hammer down again, so Sora managed to dodge again. Luft blew a strong wind as Fue unleashed her embers. Ozean swings his trident around while it was emitting water. The more he swung it, the more water it gathered. Once there was enough water, he came at Sora, prepared to strike him with it, but Sora clashed his Keyblade with the trident and the same with Luft's mace. Sora pushed the both of them back and unleashed a burst of light.

Fue attempts to stab Sora with her daggers, but he knocked them both out of her hands and he gave her a smack. Ozean swings his trident at Sora as Rokku swings his hammer down at Sora. The Elemental Bosses quickly gained the upper hand. Ozean knocked Sora down.

"Well, it looks like it's all over for you, Ketchum," Ozean said.

"So who should have the honors?" Fue asked.

"Let's make it fair. Let's all try at the same time," Ozean said.

"I like that idea," Luft said, readying his mace.

"Me too. I got dibs on his head!" Rokku said, readying his hammer.

"Alright, you guys. On the count of three!" Ozean said. The Elemental Bosses readied their weapons to land the finishing blow to Sora.

"Sora, no!" Kairi exclaimed.

"Not again," Karen said unfer her breath.

"One, two, three!" Ozean counted as they bring their weapons down on Sora, but Axel threw his Eternal Flames and they managed to distract the Elemental Bosses.

"Hey! Where did that come from?!" Rokku yelled.

A cure spell is casted on Sora and he is healed of his injuries. He then gets on his feet and held his Kingdom Key tightly.

"Not sure what just happened, but I'll take it," Sora said.

"What just happened? A minute ago, he was about to be a bloody mess, but now, he's a-okay," Harley said.

"I don't know, but I'm just glad it happened," Michael said.

"You guys wanna take another crack at me?" Sora asked.

"Oh, we want more than to take a crack at it!" Luft said.

"We'll have to try extra hard!" Fue said as the Elemental Bosses engaged Sora again. He managed to dodge their assault and he summons mines around Sora. They explode when they made contact with the mines, hurting them. Rokku swings his hammer at Sora, but he managed to dodge the hammer and Sorathrew his Keyblade, hitting him. Luft blew out a strong wind attack at Sora, but Sora managed to cast an aero spell, overpowering Luft's wind attack, and catching him in the breeze. Fue swings her daggers at Sora, attempting to cut him, but he casts a blizzard spell, hitting her. Ozean shot out icicles at Sora, attempting to impale him, but Sora casts a thunder spell, hitting him.

"Try this on for size!" Sora shouted as he summons a tornado. It was growing stronger each passing second until it was big enough. "Tornado!" The tornado sucks in the Elemental Bosses, making them scream. The tornado ceased and they fell to the ground. The Elemental Bosses struggled to get back up and keep going despite the damage they have sustained.

"It can't end like this! We won't let it!" Ozean said.

"You four lost! Surrender, it's over!" Sora stated.

"No! We won't give up! Our desire to avenge Team Rocket's Jessie and James for the disgrace that you brought them will be done, and you will die for it!" Ozean yelled.

"Too bad that'll never happen," a familiar voice spoke. That was when Axel came in through a corridor of darkness, approaching them. "Everything you think is real isn't really real. It's all bogus."

"Bogus?! What do you mean?" Luft asked.

"Yeah, Axel! Fill us in!" Ethan said.

"Alright, I'll do that. These four aren't real people at all," Axel said.

"Not real people?" Max asked.

"That's right, kiddo. These four are replicas created by Vexen. Puppets. That's all they are. And Organization XIII is pulling the strings. Everything they think that they know, and their desires for revenge is all a lie. They actually thought that they were real themselves, but Vexen wanted them to think that way," Axel said.

"No! You're lying! We're not replicas! We're actual human beings!" Ozean argued.

"If you are as you say you are, then when did you start using the powers of the elements? Hm?" Axel asked. Ozean, Luft, Fue, and Rokku looked at each other, not sure how to respond to that question. "What's the matter? Didn't get it memorized? I guess Vexen didn't think this little project of his all the way through."

"This doesn't mean a thing! It doesn't matter what we remember! What matters is what we know!" Fue said.

"Yeah, what Vexen wants you to know. And now, it's time to cut your strings," Axel said, summoning his chakrams.

"No!" Rokku yelled, holding his hammer. "I'm going to crush you before that happens!"

"We all will," Luft said, holding his mace.

"You won't dissuade us with your lies!" Ozean stated.

"It's my fault that you don't like the truth. Sora, let's take them down," Axel said. Sora healed his injuries with his cure spell and got ready to fight again. Fue rushes at Sora with her daggers as Axel blocked the daggers with his chakrams. Rokku slammed the ground with his hammer, making Sora jump. He casts his balloon spell, hitting the Earth Elemental Boss. Ozean swings his trident, but Axel clashes with the trident with his chakrams. Luft came at Sora with his mace, swinging it, but Sora ducked his head.

Fue unleashed a stream of flames at Axel, but he took the hit, so the fire does nothing to him.

"What?!" Fue exclaimed.

"I guess I should have told you. Fire doesn't hurt me. It's my element. Not a hot idea, is it?" Axel asked.

Luft came at Axel, but he dodged and he gave him a chop as he gave Ozean a kick. The Elemental Bosses panted heavily from the injuries they had sustained. Ozean was now very angered by how it turned around on them.

"Now, I am angry! I didn't want to do this, but I can see there is no other choice! Fue, Rokku, Luft! It's time!" Ozean exclaimed.

"I thought you wouldn't ask," Rokku said.

"Let's do this thing," Luft said.

"You're gonna regret ever crossing us," Fue said.

With the elements of earth, fire, wind, and water by their side, the Elemental Bosses have gained their own giant suits of armor and stepped forward. They summoned their weapons, matching their armor. Ozean's armor is ocean blue, Fue's armor is black, red, and orange, Luft's is green and sky blue, and Rokku's is bronze and gold.

"This is your last stand!" Ozean said.

Kairi remembered back in Johto when Seth used it when she, Ash, Leaf, and Sora fought alongside the D-Team and he tapped into the darkness to use it. She didn't think she would ever see that trick again.

Rokku swings his hammer as Sora and Axel dodged, but creating a magnitude of 6. Fue brought down her daggers as Luft swing his mace down. Ozean raises his trident and lightning strikes down, scattering it all around. Sora casts a reflect spell, making the lightning bounce off. Sora and Axel nodded to each other and they engaged the Elemental Bosses. Sora twirls his Keyblade as the Elemental Bosses were attempting to hit him, but Sora managed to avoid their assault and he builds up some energy. Light shines brightly from him, making everyone shield their eyes. Sora has summoned swords all round and he raises his Kingdom Key up in the air as the swords of light came down and struck the Elemental Bosses, penetrating their armor.

"NO!" The Elemental Bosses all screamed as the armor they wore explodes in a burst of light. Their armor are destroyed and the Elemental Bosses fell to the ground.

The Elemental Bosses then began to dissolve, matching their elements.

"So... this is the end of the Elemental Bosses," Ozean said.

"How can this be? This wasn't supposed to happen to us," Fue said.

"Everything we fought for was all for nothing," Luft said.

"It's okay. I would rather die than live with some fake memories," Rokku said.

"How can you say that, Rokku? Our memories are real to us," Fue said.

"Maybe. I have to admit, I was afraid at first, but now I'm not afraid anymore. Because there's nothing left for us," Rokku said.

"Rokku..." Ozean said.

"I hate to say it, but he's actually right. I was scared, too, but I didn't want to say it. I didn't want you guys to see me as a coward," Luft said.

"I think we all had those fears," Ozean said. Fue, Rokku, and Luft looked at their leader. "I kept quiet about it until now, because I didn't want to fail you as a leader. What kept me going was the three of you. That is something I will value more than anything."

"Me too," Fue said.

"Everything about us... Our lives, our bodies, our hearts, and our memories are all fake. And what we're all feeling that is probably fake, too," Ozean said.

"What are you feeling?" Sora asked.

"What we're feeling is the bond we all share. But that's probably fake, like us," Ozean said.

"No, it's not fake. It's real. The bond the four of you share couldn't be copied or faked," Sora said.

"Then, there is nothing left to regret," Ozean said. He took one, last look at his the other three Elemental Bosses. "Just before we die, I want you all to know that I'm glad that the last thing I see is you."

"Same," Rokku said.

"At least we'll be together in death," Fue said.

"Our lives may have been short, but you guys are the best thing to ever happen to me," Luft said.

"I feel the same way," Ozean said. They each closed their eyes as they dissolved completely before their eyes. And that was the end of the Elemental Bosses. Sora felt sorry for them, just like he felt sorry for Zell before he died. At least they went peacefully than he did.

Over to the World That Never Was, all the members of Organization XIII have gathered to their thrones to discuss the failure of the Elemental Bosses.

"So it seems that the Elemental Bosses were utter failures after all. It's a pity. I had high hopes that they would succeed where the replica Pokémon have failed," Xemnas said.

"Oh, it's too bad that Sora has broken Vexen's little toys," Larxene said. She laughed. "Sorry that they were useless like Demyx over here."

"Hey, I'm right here, you know!" Demyx exclaimed.

"And nobody cares," Larxene said.

"It wasn't my fault! The only reason that the Elemental Bosses have failed their objective was all because of Axel's insufferable meddling!" Vexen growled.

"Axel was always a handful. And to add, the Elemental Bosses were an entertaining bunch, but the bet was running, and we ended up losing the bet. All the same, it was fun while it lasted," Luxord said, holding his cards.

"But those four puppets have served their purpose, regardless if they have failed or succeeded. This only proves Sora and Roxas have gotten stronger," Xaldin said.

"Yes, indeed. But the failure of the resurrection of the Shadow Pokémon has failed after we have dealt with Wes and Rui for their meddling. It has come to my attention that Wes's successor was also accompanied by Sora's sister, cousin, and the D-Team in the Orre region," Zexion said.

"The boy, Michael has snagged and purified all of the Shadow Pokémon, preventing us from having them as our puppets as we attempted five years ago. Once was a coincidence, but twice is too many," Marluxia said.

"The goal for Team Shadow was to create the perfect Shadow Pokémon that was so corrupted by darkness, not even the light from Kingdom Hearts would push that darkness away. But that Michael kid sure dumped on that theory," Xigbar said.

"The failures of Team Shadow and the Elemental Bosses hold no consequences for our goals. It remains the same as we began," Saïx said.

"What next?" Lexeaus asked.

"For now, we withdraw, and we make a new plan. Also, we must turn our focus on Kingdom Hearts and the many hearts we have gathered. After these recent events, we cannot afford to take unnecessary risks," Xemnas said. The rest of the Organization complied with their leader, knowing he was right.

"I guess it's back to square one, huh?" Demyx asked.

"You could say that, Demyx. Would you like to volunteer again?" Xigbar asked.

"Wait a minute, you guys. You can't mean it. You're asking the wrong guy," Demyx said.

"We gotta get a handle on this one way or the other," Luxord said.

"Yeah, and soon," Marluxia said.

Back with the group, Sora was exhausted from the fights with Zell and the Elemental Bosses and he laid his head down on Kairi's lap.

"Enjoying your rest, Sora?" Kairi asked.

"Yeah. I gotta tell you, those guys took a whole lot out of me," Sora said.

"I know. That light show you gave us earlier contributed to that," Kairi said.

"Yeah. But I wish I would have done something to help Zell. He didn't deserve to go like that," Sora said.

"I know, Sora. He was beyond help. Like you said, he was lost in his own darkness, and no one would have brought him back to the light. Not even you," Kairi said. Sora sighed. He didn't like it, but he knew she had a point. Sora nodded, letting his girlfriend know he understands.

"I feel like I could kiss you," Sora said.

"Me too," Kairi said.

Axel had taken off after the fight with the Elemental Bosses and rejoined Wes and Rui. As it turns out, it was Rui who casted a cure spell on Sora, healing him from afar.

"Feel better that we did a good deed, Axel?" Wes asked.

"Yeah, I do. I couldn't let them take out Sora and Roxas. I didn't want to lose my best friend forever," Axel said.

"How exactly did you know that they were replicas to begin with?" Rui asked.

"Well, I briefly had a look at Vexen's blueprints when I took two human vessels, but I didn't see too much. I was focused on having Roxas and Xion back," Axel said.

"Why, Axel? Aren't they better off where they are?" Wes asked.

"Besides, it was their choice to go back to Sora and Kairi," Rui said.

"I know, but I guess I was being selfish because I wanted them to have the lives they deserve. Probably more than the life I lived when I worked for the Organization," Axel said.

"You think DiZ would go for?" Rui asked.

"I don't think he would. He would just tell us that Nobodies shouldn't even exist to begin with. But I'm with Axel. After everything Roxas has been through his whole life, he deserves the same life as Sora, Kairi, and Xion," Wes said.

Meanwhile, on Pacifidlog Town, DiZ had arrived and he is carrying some sort of machine. He enters inside. It looks like some sort of lab and he goes up to a computer.

"At long last, I have found their stronghold. I must put a stop to Organization XIII or else everything would be for nothing," DiZ said. He types into the coordinates and a beam of light shoots from one of the machinery. It creates a portal and DiZ walks through the portal. He arrived to the World That Never Was. He began to make his way to reach the castle and stop Organization XIII's plans once and for all.

Now that the Elemental Bosses have been eliminated, there is only Organization XIII and Vanitas to worry about, and that's if they don't bump into them before the Pokémon Contest in Pacifidlog Town. Will Kairi earn her fifth and final Contest Ribbon? Just wait and find out when we continue on.
