The Fat Dong's Rule 3 - (Supernatural Asia, DongZhuo!SI)

"I am surprised you sent her away."

I hummed, pouring some water in my cup as I glanced at the one that just spoke up. Hardly anyone would feel cozy pointing out the oddity of a decision of mine due to my role and relative political power, but I have to say that the one that was 'questioning' my decision didn't come off as a bad actor.

Li Ru was the one I first met when I 'woke' up back that day. And while he had been skeptical of the 'visions of a Greater China' in the decisions I took, he was still a loyal and meritable individual. He was a clerk, and one that lacked the ambition to plot the death of his retainer- me. I was akin to a father to Li Ru, and I could instantly fiddle with the idea of seeing me as another son.

"How was your investigation?" I asked in return, causing the younger man to sigh at my non-answer.

"Wang Yun is not plotting a coup. Although, I have reason to believe he is working to further cement his position. For it to then become a foothold to then clash with yours... I can't tell just yet."

I nodded and-

"But I can say the woman, Diao Chan, is devoid of ill intent. In fact, I would say she has an odd interest for you, Chancellor."

I looked at the desk, remembering how the first week of having her around had me very wary of her constant flirting. It wasn't too shameless and on the nose, but I felt this kind of affection was well beyond just admiration. And, stuck between believing I just encountered a woman into NTR or a potential 'spark for a coup', I decided to play it safe and promote her.

I was so impressed by her skills, that I saw her loyal and smart enough to serve as Lu Bu's personal secretary.

Despite her smile and 'graciousness', I could tell Diao Chan had been utterly furious with my move but... I could now tell that no coup was happening. While it was true that I had been appeasing with my potential enemies, it was also true I was monitoring them for any surprises.

This era was filled with so many treacherous figures, with Li Ru being one of the rare loyalists that I could rely on. And his elevation as Prefect of the Gentlemen of the Palace of Hongnong Kingdom had made him capable of autonomously tackle the corruption in his area of work.

That being said, loyalty and merit are not enough to stop him from drawing some mistaken plans in regard to the future.

I had decided against having killing Emperor Shao, a move he argued was ruled by 'affection' for the Empress. I gave him a lengthy talk that it was the least important reason for that decision - we could not just willy-nilly kill an Emperor kid without warranting accusations of tyranny and sparking the Romance.

Even if we cited a potential 'foreign assassin', the crime would be so massive that many would question the safety of the imperial capital and the honesty behind such a bold claim. And despite the young Emperor's frivolous nature, he was malleable and easy to 'order'.

In truth, I had been doing stuff without Imperial Consent for a while now, and I had yet to receive any 'proper complaint'. I suppose that killing all Eunuchs and forbid the class to be ever reintroduce did wonders to the current bureaucracy of China.

"Lu Bu is a good man," I pointed out, resuming the talk. "He has been suffering with some men fearing him when handling the report-writing. We can't cripple his forces because some cowards can't handle mere paperwork."

"I agree. But he is also of fickle loyalty despite our good efforts to suppress his nature."

...Was he jealous? I couldn't blame Li Ru for being annoyed at Lu Bu suddenly becoming another 'son' to me when it comes to switchy nature in the matters of loyalty, I could sense a degree of resentment.

"He is indeed. Which is why he is to be put to the least amount of tests to prove his honesty and coerced more to face rebels, bandits and all sorts of straightforward enemy we will face."

Instead of having someone as volatile as Lu Bu involved in politics, I knew I had to use him to be on the field, and hardly checking the intrigues of the palace.

"The woman may influence him, she could unwittingly set him against you."

"I doubt that," I argued flatly. "I sent him a letter that explained why he has to be wary about her."

"A letter is hardly-"

"I told him that she had tried to get too cozy and so I sent her to him so she would do just her job. And that she was hardly wife material with her plans."

It was straight-up character assassination, but it was a blunt way to keep Lu Bu from getting caught in the enticing huge tits of Diao Chan. And as the politics in Northern China were finally growing to a stable stalemate devoid of any potential trouble, I could further expand my reforms and reinforce Luoyang.

This may as well a promising development into a lengthy period of peace or... shit was about to go down and I needed to get my ass ready to turtle in Luoyang and quell any rebellion coming my way. And Li Ru definitely was aware of this as I left him to further increase efforts in mandating more support for farmers and investments to preserve the surplus of grain.

Dong Bai was already making wonders by successfully straightening workers' back as an assistant to Li Ru, the two surprisingly working well together as 'Step-Uncle' and 'Step-Niece', to the point that Li Ru spent a solid hour before leaving praising the girl's mind and 'wondering if I had any plan to keep her from marrying for political convenience and giving her to the emperor when he was old enough'.

I had half a mind to tell him to fuck off about that, but I just left it vague as I really wanted my adorable grandkid to pick her own hubby and not be bothered by nagging bastards in court.

Despite all of this, I just had a gut feeling that something was soon going to go in a rather weird manner very soon.

Diao Chan was incredibly furious.

Her request to Minister Zishi had been accepted without hesitation. She had really wanted to work for Dong Zhuo due to his interesting efforts to allow women in the administration - first from his concubines who, from rumors, seemed to be mostly pleased with recent matters of this kind, and then from unmarried peasants that had education in the matters of writing.

That was the sort of detail that intrigued a woman as intelligent as Diao Chan, and thus she wished to really work for him and... well, possibly seduce him. Despite what many would think of Diao Chan, the woman had a preference and it wasn't men of her age.

She liked her ideal man to be experienced and, while she doubted she was ever going to be the only one, also someone that had some reliable partnership going on. It was something weird for someone known as one of the most beautiful women in China, but the worst bit was the cause of her 'interest' in it being Dong Zhuo.

Curiosity. And not about the man. It was about the Empress.

Many of the servants had spread the rumor that she may have started a relationship with Dong Zhuo but... Diao Chan didn't believe it. Despite her own beauty, Lady He was also a strict woman with her own focus being her child, the young Emperor.

So, Diao Chan decided to prove them wrong by seeing why would she visit the baths when Dong Zhuo was spotted checking them earlier than her and...

Diao Chan had a bit of an 'awakening'.

She had two expectations, they were either just talking or he was treating her as a concubine. What she saw was a mix of both.

They were talking, but they were sitting by the edge of the bath, intimately close and then kissing. And then groping and then fucking. The entire scene took a full hour out of Diao Chan's life that truly redefined her mindset on the situation if the wet mess between her legs after that sight was a sign of wanton.

Dong Zhuo, the man that was pretty much the ruler of China, was... a lover? Not just a strong man, but he seemed to listen to the words of his partner. The way that Lady He spoke, almost 'cracking' the mask she wore regularly, showed a degree of trust she wanted from someone she wanted to be close with and...

That's where her plan started. And it went down as rapidly as it went right.

Did she behave too intensely? Perhaps. But there was a hint of 'displeasure' that she noticed on Dong Zhuo. It wasn't her body, but... what was it? Instead of being around at Luoyang to see what had gone wrong, she found herself latched on with Lu Bu.

A formidable man, a strong looking one at that- stronger than Dong Zhuo but... timid. Very timid. His early attempt to interact with her was one that she had only felt when talking with a young boy crushing on her. It was a similar experience, but one that caught her in a bad mood.

She hardly said anything worthy of his ire, but she affirmed her role. It impressed Lu Bu to the point that... Diao Chan was hardly frightening, but she was sure she may have intimidated the infamous general with her annoyed mood.

A shocking revelation, but one that spared her from his naive efforts to seduce her. She know he had received a letter from Dong Zhuo, something that 'helped' making this new job easier. The truth of her relocation was... this didn't feel like a promotion.

Despite the heavier burden and greater pay, she was hardly happy with her workhours. Keeping an eye on supplies, keeping tracks of the salary for troops, and even handling the scheduled hours of traing- Diao Chan was indeed a very upset woman.

A scorned woman at that and... one that was growing a bit more interested in Dong Zhuo. After all, she had plenty of free time to personally think what went wrong. And she realized the issue was indeed something she did out of 'desire'.

She was too expressive of her craving, too eager to claim it, and too arrogant in thinking that beauty was enough. After all, the Empress hardly seemed to be warm with Dong Zhuo because of appearances. Rather, there was trust, there was a sense of 'affection'.

Thus, even though she was miffed for being relocated on such a dreadful position, Diao Chan understood that her mistake was to be too confident and... that the next time, she will have to be more cautious with her approach.

After all, staying with all those men that were quite 'aroused' by her beauty, made her understand that Dong Zhuo was indeed the one she was looking for.

Dong Zhuo: Lu Bu, keep the bitch away.

Lu Bu: ... She's scary.

Dong Zhuo: I know, but you are a tough warrior and-

Diao Chan: Easy way or hard way, I will have that dong in me!

Also, next time will see some warfare. But no Romance, it will just be... a 'limited skirmish' of the fire-bending kind which may force Liu Yan to ask for help from Dong Zhuo.
