Annabeth:
Percy's plans didn't work out the way he planned them for Sunday and we agreed that we'll try again before his temporary stay was over.
It was already Monday morning and I had already gotten pretty used to the routine of Percy being generous enough in the kitchen by making breakfast for Daphne and I. He had ventured away a little from the blue theme and made regular coloured eggs, bacon, and toast. When we were all done we finished preparing for our day ahead. With Daphne insisting that she wanted Percy to drop her off so she could show him off to her friends.
Instead I dropped Daphne off at school and watched as she walked in with Tanner hand in hand with a frown on her face as her plans didn't play out. The morning drive into FiDi took longer than usual but I wasn't complaining too much as it gave me time to think. When I finally made it to the lobby of my office the well decorated space was buzzing with more people than usual. The office consisted of about 25 employees including myself and the lobby would usually have about five to twelve visitors per day in the lobby waiting for their respective representative to become available. I mean we were one of the best firms in town but most of our meetings happened over video calls and lunch meetings outside of the office.
The lobby was filled with about sixteen people with some standing because of the lack of spaces in between seats. Most of them were sitting one empty seat in between them.
I walked through the lobby doors and down the hall to my office mentally preparing for whoever the client was or the whole office's possible firing. Before I could even set my purse down and go grab a cup of terrible coffee my boss entered through my office doors with a scrawl on her face.
"Annabeth, You're needed in conference room three." Her words were so rushed that I didn't hear her.
"Yes ma'am. I said.
My boss Amanda, in short was a bitch. Not because she was controlling, which she totally was, but because she literally owned the word. Outside of work she insisted that the word didn't bother her because she was in fact a bitch and owned it to her core. If I didn't know she was human and that Hera refused to have children outside of her marriage to Zeus, I honestly would've thought they were mother and daughter.
Amanda and I walked to conference room three at the end of the office towards the break room. Conference room three was the biggest conference room and rarely used throughout the office. It was more for show and only used for merger contracts with other architect firms or when someone really important wanted to meet in a more formal manner.
The glass floor to ceiling windows were frosted on the outside as it faced the East of the city and frosted on the inside preventing the employees on the other side from being on lookers and distracting those inside and vice versa. Because of this I was half expecting the room to be full of olderly men in business suits with sullen faces as they criticized me on my blonde appearance like usual. Instead I was greeted by the last face I wanted to see for a while.
Dan and his supervisor, Chase Kerr sat near the head of the table with furrowed eyebrows as Amanda and I walked in.
"Amanda, Annabeth, it's nice to see you both again." Adam said. His voice was full of hate. Surprising it wasn't directed at me, but Amanda.
They didn't have the best history in the business but that was not any of mine.
"Always a pleasure Chase." Amanda said lowly.
"Should we get down to business?" Chase's question still wasn't without a touch of irritation for whatever situation this was.
Amanda and Chase started discussing something about a merger, but even with my eyes trained on the two of them my ears heard nothing coming from their lips. Instead I tried my best to avoid Dan's stares as I could feel his eyes fix on me.
"Annabeth does that sound fine with you?" Chase asked.
I refused to question what was going on. Hoping Amanda wouldn't later retaliate for me questioning what her and Chase were talking about.
"Yes, that sounds fine."
Chase and Amanda began heading for the exit and as I gathered my composure to do the same Dan called out to me.
"Annabeth you didn't hear a word of what they were saying did you" he said with a smirk.
"I heard a little." I admitted
"Well, sit. We have a joint design to work on."

I was exhausted when I finally returned home. It was close to eleven which meant Daphne should've been in bed and Percy was probably up doing research.
When I walked through the door I called out as quietly as I could that I was home as to not startle Daphne or Percy if they were still up.
"Welcome back." Percy called out from somewhere in the house.
I walked through the front hallway past the living room and kitchen towards the back of the house near the guest room expecting to see Percy. As I got closer to the room movement in the laundry room and the sound of the washing machine going grabbed my attention.
"Hey." I said.
Percy turned around with a smile on his face.
"Hey, how was work?" Percy asked.
"Stressful."
I walked further into the laundry room closer to the counter top near the dryer placing myself on top of it as Percy continued to gather clothes from the dryer placing them on the counter next to me.
"I know this is your place, but you're in the way." He said as he continued on.
Percy's hands were rummaging through the pile of clothes as he found something to fold landing on a pair of my underwear. When I looked at his hands I couldn't help but laugh a little.
"Ha. You really don't have to do everything around here. You still have three more days to possibly chill and relax." I said as I grabbed my panties from his hands.
"Thanks for the offer. I'll take it into consideration." He said with a slight blush on his face.
Percy ultimately decided that folding wasn't what he wanted to do as he walked out of the laundry room leaving me there holding onto my underwear with a smirk on my face. Percy was only here for a few more days. Which meant only a few more days of someone actually cooking edible food for Daphne and I. Even with five years of experience I could still burn water when told/asked to cook dinner which was a skill all on its own. Most days Daphne ate pop tarts or some other premade breakfast food and for almost two weeks she's had a balanced meal.
I hate to admit it but Percy was overall better at household things than I was. He was better at cleaning my own house than I was.
Yes, everything was always in its place but I never dusted on top of the kitchen cabinets like he did after a long day of work. In a sense I was dreading the day he would return back to his friend's apartment. Not only because of his cleaning and cooking skills but also because of how well he treated Daphne without even knowing that she was his. Besides him only one other guy in my short and brief dating history had met Daphne and he hated the idea of me spending time with her. Why he decided to go out with a single mom I'll never know, but Percy and I weren't even dating and he put her on her own little pedestal.
Then there was how he treated me. The first few days of him staying here were awkward but we quickly moved past that to reminisce about the old days of almost dying young like our friends. The struggle of not always being able to shower or even get an ounce of sleep only to be thrown into a fight a few hours later. We laughed about how we could have possibly survived and paid moments of silence to old friends.
We laughed about all the times he got kicked out of schools but miraculously didn't with college and ending the conversation when it got to our relationship ending.
From that conversation we have little moments of awkwardness but mostly didn't skate around each other anymore, but Percy insisted on doing chores as a form of payment, which is coming to an end.
"Hey, let's go get something to eat." Percy said grabbing me out of my thoughts.
"Sure but what about Daphne."
"I've got that covered."
