Chapter 3

The Control Room of Dalek City was a large round room. It was at the very heart of the metallic city. Being the heart of the Dalek City there was many Daleks in it. They kept the very city beating under the commands of their leader.

In the centre of the large circular Control Room was a Dalek. This Dalek had a different casing to the other Daleks. Its dome was black dome while its skirt and mid sections was blue. The spheres on the skirt section of its casing were silver.

The Daleks eye stock slowly swirled around the circular Control Room. Its red lens silently scanning over all the Daleks that were performing their duties under its command.

The Daleks eye stock swirled towards the only entrance for the Control Room. It watched in silence as a group of Daleks silently glided into the control room. It studied the Daleks closely to see a Dalek in the middle of the group being pushed in by two Daleks.

The red lens dimmed until it was nothing but a dot as it studied the Dalek being pushed into the Control Room. It studied the Dalek as steam bellowed out from the vents of its neck section.

The Dalek Supreme of Dalek City looked away from the smocking Dalek to look at the Daleks escorting it into the Control Room. His red lens focused on a Dalek that shared the same colour scheme as Dalek Drones. The only difference with this Dalek and the Dalek Drones was that it had a black dome.

"What is wrong with this Dalek? Explain? Explain!" the Dalek Supreme demanded the Dalek with the black dome. Its entire casing turned around to face the group of Daleks that stopped in front of it.

"This is one of the Thals that were captured inside of the City." the Dalek with the black dome droned back in response to the Dalek Supreme. "They had thought they could escape from us with deception."

The Dalek Supreme's red lens focused on the Dalek that had spoken to him. "Explain how this deception had been discovered?" he demanded the Dalek.

The Dalek with the black dome turned their eye stock away from the Dalek Supreme to Ian. The Dalek watched the lifeless casing for a second before turning its domed head back to the Dalek Supreme. "The Dalek assigned to their cell had not returned to it's post after taken their daily rations to their cell. An investigation was carried out to find the Dalek mutant had been removed from its casing. And the casing was nowhere to be found in the cell. The prisoners were also gone." it responded.

The Dalek Supreme casing made a whirling noise as he silently advanced towards Ian. The red lens of his eye stock was focused on Ian. He watched as Ian's eye stock wearily lifted, and the Ian's blue lens flickered on.

Inside him own casing, the Dalek Supreme's single yellow eye narrowed with hatred as he looked into the blue glowing lens of the casing that Ian had stolen. His tentacles that ended in a sharp talon twisted around each other in anger as he thought that a Thal was able to get inside a Dalek casing.

"You thought you could deceive the Daleks, Thal?" the Dalek Supreme snarled to Ian. His red glowing eye stock was fixed on Ian who returned his glowing glare with his own. "Unfortunately for you Thal that Dalek technology is far superior than that of the Thals."

Inside the casing, Ian winced at the booming of the Dalek Supreme's deep electronic voice. His head felt like it was going to split with the bounding headache. The headache had been getting worse with every second that passed. It was not helping him that the Dalek Supreme's voice was so loud compared to the other Daleks in Dalek City.

Ian studied the Dalek Supreme. It had a different colour scheme than the other Daleks. Its main body was blue instead of silver while the spheres on its 'skirt' section were silver. Its domed head was black instead of silver like his own casing.

Ian's vision was bathed in the blue light form his lens. Even with his sight in one colour he could still tell that the eye stock of the Dalek Supreme was red instead of blue.

"I take it you are in charge of this place?" Ian managed to ask the Dalek Supreme. Even though he like all Daleks including the Dalek Supreme were the same size, he felt that the Dalek Supreme loomed over him.

"Correct." the Dalek Supreme responded back to Ian. His deep electronic voice made the Daleks in the Control Room swirl their eye stocks around to look at him. "I am the Dalek Supreme of Dalek City. But you should know that already Thal."

Only one of Ian's eye opened and yet it felt heavy. He slumped further into cold metal interior of the casing as he found it harder to stay awake. The wires that were connected to him pinched his skin but he ignored the pain. He was too tired to worry about that.

"I am not a Thal." Ian managed to wheeze before he slumped into unconsciousness.

The Dalek Supreme watched as Ian's eye stock dropped and the blue glowing lens dimming to be grey. His eye stock swirled away from Ian to look to a Dalek Drone that was stationed by a computer terminal. "Summon the Dalek Head Scientist!" he ordered the Dalek.

"I obey!" the Dalek screeched back to the Dalek Supreme. Its dome head swirled away from the Dalek Supreme. It's attention was back to the computer terminal it was stationed at.

The Dalek Supreme ignored the Dalek drone. It had its orders and it would follow them. He did not need to watch over it. Instead, his focus returned to Ian whose casing looked lifeless. He would have mistaken it for a dead Dalek if it not for the infrequent twitches that the casing was making as steam kept coming from the vents of the neck section.

His eye stock swirled away from Ian to look at the Daleks that were still guarding him. "Move the prisoner out of the way. Keep a close watch over it." he ordered them.

"We obey!" the two Daleks screeched back to him.

The Dalek Supreme's eye stock followed the two Daleks as they pushed Ian's casing out of the way of the Daleks in the Control Room. He watched in silence as Ian's casing was pushed in against the wall.

The Dalek Supreme's eye stock swirled away from Ian to look back at the Dalek Commander. The Dalek commander's eye stock was fixed on Ian.

"Dalek Commander," the Dalek Supreme said to the Dalek Commander gaining their attention, "seek out the three other humanoids and bring them to me. If they resist exterminate them!"

"I obey!"

The Dalek Commander along with two Dalek Drones silently left Control Room. The door to the Control Room opened as they approached and revealed another Dalek. The Dalek Commander's eye stock twitched to the side as the other Dalek glided into the Control Room. The Dalek Commander flanked by the two Dalek drones left the Control Room allowing the new Dalek to enter.

"I have been summoned!" the Dalek screeched out in its low screeching voice as it advanced towards the Dalek Supreme. This Dalek's casing was also different to the Drones. Its dome and the spheres on its skirt section were green while the rest of its casing was silver. It's blue lens narrowed as it stared at the Dalek Supreme. "Explain Dalek Supreme! And make it quick I have a lot of experiments I am conducting back in my lab!"

The Dalek Supreme's eye stock fixed on the Dalek before him. His gun stick twitched as the Dalek stopped before him. "Dalek Head Scientist, when you are summoned by either I or the Emperor you come." he growled to the Dalek Scientist. "You have been permitted to carry on your experiments because of their uses to the Dalek Empire. But I can still have you exterminated for refusing to follow my orders."

The Dalek Head Scientist returned the Dalek Supreme's red glare with his own blue glare. "Then explain why I have been summoned?" he asked in his screechy voice.

"I have summoned you because of one of your inventions in the war against the Thals has come to something." the Dalek Supreme responded back as his eye stock swirled to look at Ian's casing against the wall.

The Dalek Head Scientist eye stock swirled around to see what the Dalek Supreme was looking at. His eye stock twitched up and down as he studied Ian's chasing closely. Ian's casing looked dead with its eye stock along with its appendages were laxed. He also noted the steam that bellowed out of the vents of the casing's neck section. There was also the small jerks that the casing was making.

The Dalek Head Scientist's eye stock swirled back to the Dalek Supreme. The Dalek Supreme was once again looking to him. His red lens fixed on the Dalek Head Scientist who once again looked over to Ian.

"Explain what is happening?!" demanded the Dalek Supreme.

The Dalek Head Scientist swirled back to study Ian . "My invention was designed to turn prisoners and enemies of the Daleks into Daleks."

"Blasphemy!" the Dalek Supreme roared to Dalek Head Scientist. He slowly advanced towards the Dalek Head Scientist. His red lens glared at the green Dalek. "Daleks are Supreme! Why would you want to mix our genetics with the genetics of inferior species?" he growled to the Dalek Head Scientist.

The Dalek Head Scientist stayed still as the Dalek Supreme got closer to him. His eye stock focused in on the red glowing lens of the Dalek Supreme. "I predict that in the future the Daleks pursuit for genetic purity will lead to a bottle neck in genetics. The Daleks will eventually cause themselves to become extinct." he argued back to the Dalek Supreme.

The Dalek Supreme's gun stick twitched as anger build in him. His red lens was narrowed as he roared, "Daleks are the supreme race of the universe! You should never have been allowed to carry out your experiments!"

The Dalek Head Scientist remained unmoved. He watched the Dalek Supreme's gun stick twitching as the brute tried to contain his anger. "Then explain why the Emperor permitted me to carry out these experiments?" he finally asked the Dalek Supreme.

The Dalek Head Scientist's eye stock swirled away from the Dalek Supreme to look back to Ian. The rest of his casing turned around and he moved his casing towards Ian. He ignored the silent glares he was getting from the Daleks guarding Ian as he got closer.

"Very interesting!" he chuckled when he stopped in front of Ian's lifeless casing.

His eye stock rapidly twitched as he scanned Ian's casing. His manipulator arm reached towards Ian's casing. His sensors picked up the increase in radiation inside of the casing. His invention, a small device installed into some Dalek Drone casing was working. It was working faster than he expected. The humanoid inside the casing had started mutated. He did not know the state that the humanoid was in currently in. He would see what was happening to the humanoid back in his laboratory.

The Dalek Head Scientist swirled his eye stock away from Ian back to the Dalek Supreme. The Dalek Supreme's red lens glowed brightly as he glared at him. "The Dalek Emperor will be pleased with my invention." he said to him.

The Dalek Head Scientist looked away from the Dalek Supreme whose casing had started trembling. His eye stock fixed on Ian. "I can study this more in my lab." he said to the Dalek Supreme while he still looked at Ian.

A low rumbling growl escaped from what was left of the Dalek Supreme's vocal cords. His organic eye narrowed with hatred as he glared at the Dalek Head Scientist. His gun stick twitched as he contained his anger as he sneered, "You spend too much time alone in your lab. Your isolation has started to alter your mind. You are starting to think like a Thal."

The Dalek Head Scientist still by Ian's casing, swirled his eye stock around to face the Dalek Supreme. "And yet it has been my isolation in my lab I have made all the technology that has benefited the Dalek Empire. And your leadership over Dalek City." he stated back to the Dalek Supreme.

The two Daleks stared at each other.

The Dalek Supreme's gun stick was twitching rapidly. He let out an electronic growl as his entire casing trembled. His red glare was focused on the Dalek Head Scientist. His attention was focused on the Dalek Head Scientist that he ignored the glances of the other Daleks in the Control Room.

The Dalek Head Scientist however, was still. His eye stock was fixed on the Dalek Supreme. He did not move as he let out a small chuckle. His chuckle made as the Dalek Supreme growled at him.

The Dalek Head Scientist's was still cackling as his eye stock swirled away from the Dalek Supreme. His blue lens focused on the two Daleks that were guarding Ian's immobile casing. "I will take the specimen back to my laboratory. There I can properly study the process." he told the two Daleks before his attention returned to Ian.

"While you have the prisoner in your laboratory get information from it!" the Dalek Supreme barked at the Dalek Head Scientist.

The Dalek Head Scientist's eye stock swirled back around to face the leader of Dalek City. The blue lens of his eye stock dimed as he explained, "I am a Scientist. Not an Interrogator!"

The Dalek Supreme stared at the Dalek Head Scientist. "The humanoid had said that it was not a Thal. You will find its species and planet of origins." he said to the lead scientist of Dalek City.

The Dalek Head Scientist eye stock slowly swirled back around to face the Dalek Supreme. "Very interesting. I have a new invention that needs testing. And I am sure I can get the information you are looking for." he responded back to the Dalek Supreme.

"Explain this invention!" the Dalek Supreme demanded.

"My cortex vault is a part of a greater invention I am working on for the Dalek Emperor." the Dalek Head Scientist responded as he turned his entire casing around to face the Dalek Supreme.

"Explain!" boomed the Dalek Supreme who was still in the middle of the Control Room. It was where he was always located. There were many times that the Dalek Head Scientist thought that the Dalek Supreme could not move his casing. He wondered if the mutant in the casing even knew how to control his casing. Or if the casing was a part of the City itself.

"The cortex vault is to be used as a secondary brain. In theory it is to store memories that a Dalek does not need but may need later." the Dalek Head Scientist continued to explain to the Dalek Supreme.

The Dalek Supreme's eye stock twitched to look at Ian's casing. He stared at the smocking Dalek casing. His eye stock twitched back to the Head Scientist as he asked, "And this cortex vault can be used as an interrogation tool?"

"In theory yes. I just need to install it into the casing." the Dalek Head responded back to the Dalek Supreme.

"Do it then!" the Dalek Supreme ordered with his booming voice.

Once again the two Daleks stared at each other. All around them the Daleks in the Control Room had resumed their roles in running Dalek City. Their sensors were heightened as they waited for the Dalek Head Scientist response.

"Do you take pride in ordering order Daleks around?" the Dalek Head Scientist finally asked after seconds of silence. "Is this the only way for you to feel like you are the Emperor?"

"I am the Dalek Supreme of Dalek City!" the Dalek Supreme growled to the Dalek Head Scientist. His gun stick twitched again as an electronic growl boomed through the Control Room. "In the absence of the Dalek Emperor I am in charge of Skaro. And in his absence I give the orders. Or you will be Exterminated!" he warned the Dalek Head Scientist.

The Dalek Head Scientist stared at the Dalek Supreme. He was aware of the Supreme's weapon aimed at him along with his personal guard. The personal guard of the Dalek Supreme followed him like his shadows. They did not show themselves unless he was in danger. And the Dalek Head Scientist knew he was protected. He was protected by the Emperor.

"As long as you remember that. You would not want the Emperor to think that you are calling yourself Emperor here on Skaro" he chuckled to the Supreme.

"Return to your laboratory!" the Dalek Supreme ordered. "Before I Exterminate you!"

"I am going. I have spent too long away from my inventions." the Dalek Head Scientist snarked back to the Supreme. His casing turned around to face the door of the Control Room while his eye stock was fixed on the Dalek Supreme. "But I will return with a new Dalek who is loyal to the Dalek Emperor." he giggled to the Supreme.

He ignored the electronic growl coming from the Dalek Supreme as his eye stock swirled back to the Daleks standing guard on either side of Ian. "Take this specimen to my lab. Wait for my further instructions there." he ordered them.

"We obey!" the two Daleks shouted back.

The Dalek Supreme watched the two Daleks pushing Ian's casing out of the Control Room. He could not help the growl that he made when the Dalek Head Scientist left the Control Room. The Dalek Scientist had turned his eye stock right around so he kept eye contact with him as he left the Control Room.

The Dalek Head Scientist swirled his eye stock back around when the doors of the Control Room closed behind him.

The Dalek Supreme growled as his eye stock swirled to one of his personal guards. His guard had remained in his shadow. The Dalek had watched the interaction between the Dalek Supreme and Dalek Head Scientist. "Follow him to the lab. Observe him. If it looks like he is going to betray the Dalek Empire stop his experiments and exterminate him!" he ordered his guard.

"I obey." the Dalek responded to the Dalek Supreme in their squeaky voice.

The Dalek Supreme's eye stock followed his guard as they silently glided towards the door. The door of the Control Room once again slid open as the Dalek approached it. The Dalek had not slowed down and they followed the Dalek Head Scientist to his lab.

The Dalek Supreme's eye stock left the door as it closed. His eye stock scanned over the Daleks that were working under his command. Dalek City was steadily growing under his command. The only thing that was missing was the total extermination of the Thals. And these humanoids were the way he was going to find the remaining Thals on Skaro.
