This is the Finale of the Tenth Anniversary Special. Last time, Cynder headed back to New York City to catch up with Spider-Man and Fallen Venom. The battle was a strange one, ultimately ending with Spider-Man creating a giant sonic weapon from speakers to take out Fallen Venom using the classic sonic weakness of the Klyntar. Fallen Venom slings away, leaving Cynder to take Spider-Man to somewhere safe after he passes out on her back. So, what awaits after Cynder gets Spidey to safety? Read on to discover...

(Our scene opens up back at The Abbey, with Cynder arriving with Spider-Man on her back. As soon as she arrives, Caretaker enters the scene, looking at them confused)

Caretaker: You brought him here?

Cynder: Spidey is in need of some rest and recovery. I figured this place would probably be better than his apartment.

Caretaker: (Thinks about it) Arguably, you're probably right.

Cynder: Is there a spare room available? Preferably near the showers?

Caretaker: (Using her magic to levitate Spider-Man off her back) I'm sure we can find him a place.

(Caretaker just poofs Spider-Man into one of the rooms in The Abbey, and once she recovers from that weird sight, Cynder heads in herself to get some sleep. Fast forward to the next morning and Cynder has just come downstairs and sees Nico Minoru, Ghost Rider, Magik, Blade, and Spider-Man discussing something)

Nico Minoru: Don't tell me to calm down, Robbie! The others are in there with Caretaker planning their next move against Faustus, and they're totally leaving us out. Again!

Robbie Reyes: Nico, this is the Avengers we're talking about. They're heroes in their own right.

Nico Minoru: And who had to bail out your new pal Spider-Man when he was getting nailed by an alien slime monster? Us!

Blade: Fair point.

Magik: If they are so powerful why wasn't strange able to help us save Wanda or Spyro?

Cynder: Being honest, I'd like to know that too.

Spider-Man: Look, Doc's a good guy. He's patched up a spider-knee or two since starting this. Pumpkin bombs aren't exactly covered by my medical insurance.

Cynder: (Sarcastically) What medical insurance?

Magik: I honestly wouldn't trust him to patch a tire.

Nico Minoru: They move into our home, take it over, and then have the audacity to leave us out of every decision that affects us!

Cynder: Nico, calm down a bit. I'll talk to the others, see if they won't let you guys be part of this.

Nico Minoru: Trust me, they won't. (Sighs) I need some air.

(As Nico Minoru walks out, Cynder walks in as Captain Marvel receives a transmission)

Captain Marvel: There it is again. That strange gamma energy signature, the "green numbers" as Bruce is so wont to call them. The HYDRA tech we've seized is glowing with the same fluorescence.

Caretaker: And what does Doctor Banner have to say about all this?

Captain Marvel: No idea. He's gone AWOL. Not actually unusual, this happens when he's on to something.

Caretaker: That something being?

Captain Marvel: Not sure in this moment, but it's big, I can tell you that much.

Cynder: So what's our next plan of attack?

Captain Marvel: Find another scientist specializing in creepy gamma science. Just so happens that one opened up shop recently in the area, though he's barking mad admittedly.

Cynder: Faustus.

Caretaker: I suppose you two have some catching up to do.

Captain Marvel: Nothing unusual, HYDRA builds creepy shit, we show up to stop it, I get a bomb launched at my face.

Cynder: So when do we get started?

Captain Marvel: Based on our intel, now.

Cynder: Not quite. We need to discuss the Midnight Sons. This is their base, the prophecy is the reason their team was formed in the first place. We can't just keep leaving them out of everything. So this mission isn't happening without at least one of them.

Captain Marvel: Who did you have in mind?

Cynder: (Thinks back on all the contenders) Well, we need Magik here to get us in and out of Limbo. We know what Blade can do. So that leaves Nico and Robbie.

Captain Marvel: Like hell you're just leaving me here. And it's three to a mission.

Cynder: Nico it is then.

Caretaker: Are you sure about that?

Cynder: I saw her move first into action when the revival of The Hunter went awry. Before Blade, before Strange, before any of them. And apparently I was the only one who noticed. So I'm calling on her.

Caretaker: (Realizing the respect Cynder has for Nico Minoru) Very well then.

Captain Marvel: Are you sure about this?

Cynder: Certainly. Let's do this.

(And as the two of them leave to get Nico Minoru and start on the mission, our scene ends for today)

This concludes the Tenth Anniversary Special. Well, here's to ten good years, and who knows, maybe another one in the works. We'll see how long I can keep coming up with ideas or keep my interest going. Maybe we'll be celebrating 20 years before we know it. And thank you to everyone who's even glanced at my works over the last decade. It's encouraging to see so many people liking my stuff. Anyways, next time, we've got a bead on Faustus. But will they catch the mad doctor? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
