"I really need to start charging for these emergencies," Brittany grumbled as she stepped through one of Frannie's portals. She had been in the process of getting Mike naked through a game of strip poker. She hadn't lost a hand, before a portal had appeared and her phone had gone off. Maybe she'd make Charlie do her physics homework this semester. That would give her more time to have sex with Mike.
However instead of a rush of people, and her mom's panicked expression, she only sees Quinn who is currently playing with Wolfgang and Arte. "I thought that this was an emergency. I don't see any blood, or hear any screaming. If this is a false alarm, I'm going back to my dorm room. Mike's currently in his boxers, waiting for me. I'd rather be doing him than fixing whatever went wrong here."
Quinn's make a face, "Gross, I don't need details about your sex life."
"Because you're still not having any?" Brittany grins when Quinn scowled at her, and the temperature grew positively chilly. "So that's a yes?"
"I was supposed to be at Marley's today but Charlie fucking ruined it!"
Brittany's eyes widened, "She had sex with Marley?"
"What no! She texted Marley," Quinn corrects, looking at Brittany. "It wasn't sexual, but I got annoyed because Charlie wants something from Marley, probably to join the Titans or something equally as stupid. I'm going to lose my girlfriend to Charlie and her weird hero worship."
"Charlie's not going to sleep with your girlfriend, we all want you to get laid so you can stop being a judgemental bitch that we're all having sex, and you're not. We get it, but fuck Quinn, it's tiring." Brittany corrects, with a roll of her eyes. "Grandma texted me and said it was an emergency but again, no blood, no mother worrying in the background about her baby, and you don't look guilty—so I'm going to back to stripping Mike and then having my way with him—"
"No one wants to hear about your sex-life," Quinn snaps at Brittany.
Brittany rolled her eyes, this was why Charlie was her favorite. Charlie didn't exactly want to hear it either, but she never got mean about it. She glances at the portal for a moment and then looks at Wolfgang and Arte. Mike would probably enjoy talking to them, and she wanted to know if they had an Australian accent. She heads back to the portal and pops her head in where she spots Mike checking the cards to see if she had been cheating. "This might take awhile Mike, do you want a home cooked meal? To play with my sister's dogs? You're going to have to put on pants though, and a shirt—actually no you don't have to put on a shirt. "
Mike blinked and looked up in surprise, "You want me to meet your parents?"
"It's just my mom, and grandparents, and they're probably worried about my sister so they won't really notice. Probably." Brittany says cheerfully.
"That I'm there, or I'm not wearing a shirt?" Mike asks with an amused smile, as he begins to put some clothes. He was curious to see where Brittany disappeared too every now and again. He grabs his shirt and hears Brittany boo, at his decision, but it doesn't stop him from slipping it on.
Brittany extends her hand for him, and pulls him through the portal. "Mike, Quinn. Quinn, Mike." Brittany says doing the introductions as Wolfgang immediately stands to attention, and stares at Mike, as Arte moves closer to sniff him. "That's Wolfgang, and that's Arte," Brittany explains but Mike's immediately moving towards Arte and dropping down so that they were at eye level. Brittany grins at Quinn, "Now do you see why I want to do—"
The front door opens, cutting Brittany off as she looks to see her grandfather carrying Charlie on his back, Brittany sighs and pulls her hair up into a ponytail. She was definitely going to start charging for this. "What happened?"
"Concussion," Artemis informs Brittany.
Brittany groans, "I'm going to need a bucket, she always pukes when I heal her concussions," Brittany grumbles pausing when she spots Santana, who is behind her grandmother. "How'd she get a concussion?"
"She lost a fight and got knocked out," Santana offers to Brittany, freezing when she notices Brittany's critical eye on her. She hesitates. "Charlie usually drives me home."
Brittany hummed, and looked at Quinn, "Where's my bucket?"
Quinn scowled and rolled her eyes, but got up. "After you're done I get to yell at her."
Brittany glances at Mike for a moment but he seems sufficiently distracted by Charlie's pets and she makes her way to the stairs, stopping in front of Santana, and gently putting her hand on her shoulder. "Thanks for taking care of my baby sis," Brittany says winking at her, before she makes her way up following her grandmother to Charlie's room.
The sudden warmth catches Santana by surprise as it slowly spreads, numbing the pain in her body. Her limbs didn't feel like lead anymore, and it didn't hurt to breathe. She immediately looks at where Brittany had been but she's already halfway up the stairs. It takes her a moment to realize she's currently alone with a strange man who seems to be conversing with Charlie's pets. "Uh—"
Mike looks up and flashes Santana a smile. "Hey, I'm Mike. Brittany's—boyfriend? I think. I don't think we have any labels."
Santana nods, "Santana."
"Brittany's mentioned you," Mike informs her with a nod, going back to his conversation with Wolfgang, who was busy informing him that he was very offended that none of the humans ate any of his kills, and they wouldn't share their food with him. He listens intently even as he shoots Santana a discreet look, Brittany had informed him bluntly that Santana was her future sister-in-law even if she didn't know it yet.
"She's mentioned you too," Santana says, struggling to make small talk with Brittany's boyfriend. She glances up at the ceiling wondering if Charlie was going to be okay, most healers didn't touch the brain, but Brittany was the best, and she didn't even have a medical degree.
~ O ~
The first day back to school, under normal circumstances was a day that Judy turned into her spa day. It had been a long standing tradition until this year. Pacific View Academy had been well equipped to deal with Charlie and Quinn's abilities, and the quirks for their personality. McKinley clearly didn't have that capability.
She had hoped that it had just been growing pains, from what she could see both Quinn and Charlie seemed to be doing well. It wasn't as if she worried about their grades, and for the first time since the twins had started school she wasn't worried about their weird codependency. She was actually thrilled that Quinn had found herself a girlfriend, and that Charlie had joined a team.
She had made the mistake of heading to the spa with Hiram today, thinking that her nearly adult children could handle themselves without the world coming to an end. She was wrong, she had been in the middle of a facial, when her phone had started to go off, with non stop messages. She should have known that she couldn't have a few moments to herself.
With a sigh of dread she opens her front door, expecting chaos, and perhaps blood on her recently clean floors, but instead of chaos and fighting, she's met with both Arte and Wolfgang coming over to greet her, their tails wagging happily. She flashes a smile and pets them, as she heads to the kitchen, pausing when she spots Santana and an Asian man sitting on the couch chatting away.
Santana turns and spots Judy, "Hi Mrs. Fabray," she waves, "Brittany is upstairs healing Charlie, there was some yelling about a bucket a few minutes ago, but it's been pretty quiet since."
"Brittany—you must be Mike!" Judy said, turning to look at Mike who quickly gets up to greet her, "No sit down, I can see why Brittany talks about you non-stop," Judy said with a smile, before pausing. "Wait—why is Brittany here?"
"Charlie lost a fight and got a concussion," Santana informs Judy who looks at her shocked. "Yeah, that was my reaction as well. But she wasn't using her abilities, I don't know what she was thinking. Brittany's upstairs healing her."
Judy blinked and sighed, "That explains the bucket," she shakes her head, perhaps it wasn't that big of a disaster, and she finally got to meet another one of her daughter's significant others. She hadn't gone shopping since the weekend and she certainly hadn't been prepared to whip up a feast. Still she would be a poor hostess if she couldn't make do with what she had, she immediately places her purse down and heads to the kitchen to wash her hands and start prep. "I don't quite understand why that took multiple messages from Beiste and Figgins though."
Santana winced, "Well, after she got a concussion, Lauren challenged her to a fight." Santana pauses for a moment. "Lauren was sent to the hospital, Charlie got sent to the nurses office."
Judy's jaw dropped. "What?"
Santana held up her hands, "Charlie was completely out of it, so she wasn't quite in her right mind when Lauren attacked her. I'm not saying Lauren deserved the extent of the damage, but she picked the fight and Charlie just ended it."
Judy inhales, "Does Brittany need to visit Lauren?"
Santana hesitated and glanced at Mike, "Brittany's a level 3."
Mike looked between Santana and Judy, "I know about Brittany," he says not taking any offense, he understood why they were being cautious they hadn't been seeing each other for that long.
Judy sighed and raised a brow, Brittany being a level 5 was quickly becoming the worst kept secret in the family, at some point the government may try to get involved. Hopefully her mother would put a stop to it before it became a problem. "I see." She's about to say something more when she hears both Quinn and Brittany bickering.
"I don't understand why I'm always on bucket duty!" Quinn snapped at Brittany.
"Someone needed to be on bucket duty, and you don't expect grandma and grandpa to do it. You should respect your elders Quinn," Brittany said in a flat tone. "I'm healing Charlie's brain, you really don't want me to say oops, now do you."
"Maybe I do want you to say oops, she might be normal if you say oops," Quinn snipes and blinks when she spots her mother who is staring at them, "I'm just saying," she mutters. "She nearly missed the bucket. I'm sure she did it on purpose."
Judy shook her head, "Thank you Brittany."
"Next time she needs an emergency she's doing my physics homework for the semester," Brittany grumbles and smiles at Mike, "So do they have Australian accents?"
Mike laughs, and looks over at Arte and Wolfgang, who were practically tripping over themselves to play with Brittany, "No. That's not how it works Britt," he reminds her. "They like you the best though. You should stop giving them human food though, I don't think it's good for them."
Brittany stretches, "Whoever knocked her out did a number on her brain, even with my healing, she still needs to take it easy for the next couple of days. No training, she can use her powers sparingly, just you know try and avoid letting her smack her head against something. She probably doesn't remember what happened before the incident." Brittany shrugs. Charlie would be fine.
"No school?" Judy asks.
Brittany hesitated, "For the next two days, probably not, she's not going to be as sharp as she normally is. But Santana, you can bring her any homework she misses right?"
Santana nods after a moment of hesitation. "Sure as long as I don't have to deal with a bucket, or her mumbling something about a nurse's outfit."
Brittany grins delighted, while Quinn scowls. "Seriously? I don't get how you think that's attractive. Or get how you think she's attractive. Like I don't get how she's this Lothario!"
Santana frowns, not liking the attention as both Charlie's mother and her grandparents looked at her, "We're not dating. Charlie doesn't always get what she wants from me, I just learned to ignore her when she was being irritating. Which we all know is like 99% of the time."
Brittany grinned, "I knew there was a reason I liked you." Brittany throws an arm around Santan. "We should be best friends. I know all Charlie's embarrassing stories."
Santana blinked, and smirked, being friends with Brittany would probably have it's perks and it would probably get under Charlie's skin. "Oh?"
Brittany nodded, "Hold that thought—Quinn, you're overthinking it, and it's making you desperate. That's a turnoff, just be present. When it happens it happens." Brittany said with a roll of her eyes. "Be romantic, be open be funny, be confident, and relax. It's not complicated, humans have been doing it forever. Even if you suck the first time and disgrace the Fabray name, I'm sure Marley will be patient and give you another chance."
"Brittany," Judy snaps, as Santana begins to laugh.
Brittany shrugged her shoulders, it was good advice as far as she was concerned. "Fine, you give her advice! Come on Mike, let me show you around."
Judy frowned, Brittany was in university and was capable of making her own decisions, "Door open policy still stands for you Britt. And once Charlie wakes up we need to determine what to do about Lauren, healing her completely is out of the question. That is if you want your secret to remain a secret."
Brittany sighs and nods, she had planned to show Mike around and get some free food before heading back to her dorm, where she had every intention of continuing their game of strip poker. "Fine, but Charlie's next injuries she's going to have to suffer through them."
"As long as they're not life threatening," Judy adds for Brittany, "And she's not missing a limb."
"Fingers are fair game though right?"
"Bubbles."
Brittany glances at her grandmother and makes a face at her nickname, looking at Mike to see if he had noticed. When he flashes her a small smile, she sighs knowing that he was going to tease her about it. "Alright, fine."
