Chapter 22

"We will never speak of this, not one word to the wives... You too Geto, you will take this to your grave!" Suiryu was adamant about that fact. It was within reason to make such a demand, but has Suiryu already forgotten that Yua accepted him? He would be in just as much trouble as everyone else here!

Geto peered about one moment he was out of the domain with Itadori, Satoru, and Sukuna. Next, he is standing in paradise. "Where are we, knockoff?" Sukuna demanded.

"The Islands!" he said proudly. "Mainly, we are on the other side of the world. But we're in Hawaii!"

Sukuna appeared the most bewildered out of them all. But, then again, he has yet to be outside of Japan!

Geto could say the same thing, but he remembered Kenjaku had traveled far in his body while working his culling games. But to be somewhere like Hawaii...

"So, why are we here?" Sukuna asked. "You brought me here for a reason, didn't you?"

Suiryu's smile grew as he peered at Sukuna. "Of course, you are going to learn to cook!"

"What..."

"Toshi craves what he had when he first got preggers, right? YOU cooked it, so it's only fair that you cook again, but better."

"I don't speak their tongue!" Sukuna protested.

"You're a fast learner; I am certain you will pick it up. So, we will leave you here to learn, Geto, you help." Suiryu ordered.

"Me? I don't cook…"

"Then learn!" Sukuna growled. "I'm not doing this alone. Let's get this over with…"

Geto knew there was no escape, especially when Sukuna kept a firm hand on his shoulder. "Wait, what will you guys do if we learn to cook?"

"We need supplies, banana leaves, coconuts, among other things," Suiryu explained. "We can't get those things back home if we want it to be authentic."

"I'm going to learn how to do the luau dance!" Gojo decreed.

"Of course you are," everyone muttered.

"So, get learning! There's a rec center that does luaus for tourists. I put in a good word for you two to learn. The best part is, Uba doesn't stand out as much!" Suiryu snickered.

Geto was about to protest, but everyone was gone already. "Damn it," he muttered.

"Let's get this over with," Sukuna muttered.

They entered the rec center. People paused oddly as they strolled in until a relatively large local approached them and smiled. "WELCOME!" he decreed in perfect Japanese.

Suguru is taken aback. "Hello, uh, we're here to learn about the Kalua pig. May we learn how to cook it from you?"

The man laughed and nodded. "I have already been instructed on that. Come this way, and we need to get the oven ready. It's a good thing your friend there is big and strong looking. We will be finished in no time!"

"Your Japanese is excellent…" Geto said offhandedly.

The man and those around him laughed. "It's one of the main languages spoken here!"

Who knew?

Since language wasn't a barrier it became rather easy to learn and understand what has to be done. However, it became a LOT of work for the two of them. The in-ground oven has a specific method to build the heat. Suiryu said what they use here is the key to a good hog. But they emphasized how important the river rocks are and how to use them.

Despite how intense it could be, the method, as well as the technique, was impressive. It takes two hours to get the 'oven' to the right temperature and the rocks heated. The size of the hog has to take into consideration, as well as the number of banana leaves needed and a wet tarp over the top.

Geto was impressed as Sukuna asked questions throughout the whole process. He was taking this rather seriously!

The whole process took over 8 hours to accomplish. Geto realized that it would be a lot of work to cook as much food as needed for everyone... then again, he wonders WHY they are learning about this now? Not to mention why HE got dragged into this.

It was ultimately worth it, as he and Sukuna tasted the pig they helped cook.

"My God..." Suguru whispered.

Sukuna was silent as he savored the flavor.

"So, you learned something?"

He peered over. Suiryu and Yuuji returned. Gojo was in a full women's luau outfit. "I am not the least surprised with six eyes there," Sukuna said offhandedly. "But this was very informative."

"Yeah, who knew they spoke Japanese here too?" Yuuji said offhandedly.

"So, you got everything?" Geto asked.

"And then some," Suiryu said proudly. "All we need now are the hogs. Yuuji and I will hunt up some big ass pigs in the hunting realm. I left Naoya in charge of the Orcs."

"Why is he..." Suguru began to ask but realized it was best not to ask questions.

Suiryu was about to speak until his phone went off. He took a moment to see it was a message… Suiryu's smile grew disturbing. "Wanna see? After all, I do need someone to butcher them after…"
