Chapter Ten

Nothing Ever Routine

A/N – I hope you found the last chapter as a good foundation for the future of the family. With the young fresh ideas on board now, the company is definitely set up for the future. I wanted to spend my time emphasizing that but the results and future plans of the company were important to uncover as well. I have found that my chapters for this sequel have grown a bit in word count, but to be honest there is just so much I want to say. I hope the length is not burdensome and reads well for all of you. Let's get back into some routines with school, work and life. Things are well for the Bordens and the business. Some challenges may arise but to be upfront the successes continue to come their way. Over the next chapters, I will cover many different storylines mainly focusing on the Bordens especially Lyndy and Wyatt. Don't worry, I won't forget Amy and Ty. I continue to get some amazing story ideas and have a lot in my vault. Don't stop as your ideas and feedback are welcomed and cherished. Keep in touch. Mature Content – Enjoy!

The buzz from the impactful Board meeting was moving all throughout the organization and as always, everyone was excited. Each group of leaders took the time to conduct meetings and small group talks to share the highlights. Everyone receive a very high level publicly available financial report through email and were encouraged to ask questions. Since almost every employee had a stake in the company as shareholders, the information was necessary for them to absorb and understand. Lisa, Lou and Jack had always set that precedent and the staff appreciated it. Also included in the emails were some of the ideas discusses and a solicitation for feedback and any additional ideas they had. A lot of the changes at the Heartland Equestrian Expereince came from employee input. Amy set up a meeting with her entire training team to go over the upcoming schedule and the assignments that Georgie and her had decided on. Currently, the lead group consisted of her and Georgie along with Katie, Lyndy, Annie, Haley, Ellory and Maddie. Others in the group in a part time role were Wyatt, Rusty, Jeremy and a few others. Wyatt and Rusty had been involved for a while but their main roles were in place but Jeremy had shown promise and had quickly became a part of the group, much to Annie's excitement. Amy and Georgie had a rule that they always adhered to. With safety in mind, anyone who showed interest could try to work with a horse and several people showed promise. They were never against anyone giving it a shot and the staff appreciate the way they handled it. While together the group also spoke through the Rehoming Center and some for the plans for the future. Scott and Ty also had a large meeting with the vet team at the Hudson Vet Clinic that Ellie oversaw. Wyatt joined them along with several of the lead techs from all of the facilities. The meeting was scheduled for an hour to go over the processes and schedules for the first half of the year. With 6 full time DVMs it was important to make sure that they were aligned to handle the ever changing work load. Scott, Ellie and Mandy handled the full time load of the two clinics in town along with s few long term techs and regularly cycled clinical students. All of the students were required to do half of their requirements at the two clinics with Cass, still leading the program while Ellie and Mandy would oversee their progress. The three of them were also responsible for filing the appropriate paperwork with the University as the students completed the work. The other half of the clinical time allowed the student to move into the specialization part of the program and as expected most wanted to work at the Equine facility, that included the Rehoming Center and Llama herd. The program was solid and provided them everything they needed or desired and the University could not be happier, as they relished in the fact that other universities used it as their template as well. The two groups finished up their meetings with an understanding of who did what and what routines were needed to keep everything running smoothly. Lou had met with Amy and Ty before to make sure everything was aligned with the overall goals of the company. Everyone headed back while Ty and Amy had a private rendezvous back at the house for an intimate lunch. The plan was to fill each other in on their meetings, enjoy their favorite food, Mac'n'Cheese, and cuddle a bit before they went back. Amy and Ty continued to make sure they still made time for them and this lunch was a part of it. Although still discreet at times, it was a normal thing for the staff to see them holding hands, with their arms around each other and sneaking kisses. Outside of some grief from Caleb, Mallory or Georgie the three of them along with most of the other staff loved it. Their lunch was perfect and their cuddling turned into a little longer than expected love making session. As they calmed, Ty looked at his watch, "Shit, I have surgery in 15 minutes." He jumped up scrambling and as Amy giggled he scoffed, "What?" She smiled, blushing, "Oh nothing, I am just enjoying the view. He grabbed his clothes, which were all over the room and after he was ready, he came over to give Amy a kiss and laughed, "I am happy you still enjoy it lover." She hugged him tightly, "Forever."

The surgery went well and Amy's day was full as always. They had two pairs of Roman Riding horses from Montana that were national champions. They had been doing well, but the owners, especially one of them was convinced that there was an issue. After the medical evaluation came out clean, Amy, with Georgie's help spent some time with each horse individually and as a pair. These owners were well known in the horse competition world and had an amazing reputation of producing champions and Olympic quality horses. This was the first time they had come to the Equine Center and were referred by the Ridgeways. So, the team decided a little extra TLC was needed, plus Georgie was still the Roman Riding expert. The decided to split the work so Amy worked with Tom and Jerry and Georgie worked with Romeo and Juliet. The owners were fond of using famous couple's names. Before they started Ty, Steven, Amy and Georgie met with the owners. They decided to bring Haley in as well as she had some experience roman riding. The client, Margo and Sean Musgraves were there with their two lead trainers. Amy opened by welcoming them, "Margo and Sean, we are very excited to be working with your horses. We don't get many Roman Riders and we are going to put a lot of resources on the work. As you know Georgie has a prolific record with this type of competition. Any questions?" Both of them said no and were looking forward to watching the work that they would do. Margo finally spoke up, "The Ridgeways were very complementary of what you did for them and we need help. Something is off with the two teams and our trainers can't figure it out." Amy smiled as her initial read on the owners seemed to be changing a bit from her first impression. Ty and Steven went over the exam notes for all four horses and overall they were all in great shape. Ty commented, "These are some very well-conditioned and healthy horses and seem to really bond a pairs. Are the stalled together?" Sean smiled, "Yes we made sure from the beginning. We have found that tandem horses need to be together all the time. And there was only one groom who worked with all four of them, which again is how we always do it." He looked over his shoulder, "We have one lead trainer and back up for both pairs. Consistency is important with high level horses." Georgie, smiled and commented, "I agree and have seen that over my competition years that the horses need consistency and things that are familiar to them. It is just as important as the training and nutrition. When I first got Phoenix, from day one, his routines never faltered and if there was a slight deviation I could feel it, I could feel the change. People always ask me why he was a champion and I would tell him because he was happy and content. The fire he had to win was there and well he performed amazingly." Steven laughed, "And do you know that he came to her when she called to him, like a dog, it was pretty amazing." Sean and Margo looked at them smiling. Finally he spoke up, "Well we completely understand what you are saying and to be up front, our horses do not seem happy." The group sat quietly for a few seconds when Haley spoke up. "Well together, we will make them happy again."

Lyndy and Wyatt were happy to be back into their routine, fairly regular but sometimes a little hectic. Lyndy was so excited she was graduating in the spring and even more excited that Wyatt would be finishing his class requirements and then after 6 months doing what he does already, would be a certified DVM. Her pride was unmatched at his accomplishments and was excited to begin the next chapter of their lives. The really hadn't discussed wedding dates yet but privately she was hoping for a year after graduation. That way they could be settled in their new lives and could use the wedding as the foundation of their future. She loved him so much it hurt and felt so lucky to have him in her life and also such a loving and close family. So many of the kids she hung around with had challenging relationships and families. Wyatt was fully focused on finishing the year with a bang and moving on to his clinical requirement and eventual DVM certification. He was so excited about working with Ty, Stven, Scott and the others and felt privileged to be mentored by so many amazing vets. He loved his relationship and support from the Borden family, especially JT. Their bond was as strong as ever and they relied on each other often. Even when he was making the decision to propose to Lyndy, he talked with him before he met with Ty and Amy. He helped JT when Lilly died as he had experiences in his life that he could relate to. But his light was his fiancé and best friend, Lyndy Marion Borden. She was beautiful, intelligent, caring and from his perspective the most amazing friend he had ever had. He loved her with everything he had and knew she loved him back just as much. He watched her commitment to her school work and her horse healing skills and how she handled both with energy and vigor. They were both so happy and in love and every chance they got they spent time together. Since Amy, Georgie and Katie were so busy, one afternoon they headed over to the Equine Center to look at a horse that her mom asked them to check out. When they arrived, Rusty took them to the horse and warned, "Guys this horse is a kind of crazy you need to be careful. Amy knows so get with her if you have any questions. They smiled as Wyatt patted his friend's back, We got it buddy." They stood side by side looking the agitated horse over and Wyatt leaned into her, "So boss, what's the plan?" She giggled, "I like the sound of that and don't you forget it." They continued to look over the horse hand in hand for a little while longer, happy to be together. Back at the U of C Annie and Addie were full speed into their classes and university activities. Their parents were adamant that they enjoy the entire university life although they always held a deep responsibility for their family business. It was a beautiful day considering the time of the year so their group had a lunch date planned on the quad. The conversation was lively. Several of them spoke about their classes, many of them that included others in their group of eight. Maya and Bella talked about the last meeting of the LBGTQ council, of which they were a part of. They mentioned that they were having a rally in the quad Friday and had also set up an 800# for people to get help confidentially. Annie, Addie and Camilla all volunteered for it and all of them planned to be at the rally. As always the group went over the sleeping arrangements at the apartment, which seemed to change with the wind. Maya and Bella had become regular visitors but since Troy had his own place, Camilla and he weren't there often. Lyndy and Wyatt's room remained unused unless needed. Annie and Addie figured that since their parents bought the place, it was only right to make sure the room remained available for them whenever they needed it. Maddie as expected was back enjoying being 16, in love and as active as ever. She had already began to get things prepped for this year's Special Kids Rodeo which was going to be the biggest ever. She had been contacted by several organizations that wanted to be a part of it, who focused on kids who need help acclimating to the "normal" world. That word disgusted her and she always politely corrected them, ensuring them that everyone was the same. And finally newly 10 year old JT was continuing to enjoy his family, school and his friends. He continued to be close with Shawna and Trent but he was also extremely social. The teachers reveled at his ability to interact with all of the kids he was around even though he was younger than all of them. He still was having a feeling that something was up with Trent as at times, he seemed distant and in deep in thought. He was understanding but really wanted to help his friend. He vowed to himself to be there if he needed him and even spoke with Shawna about it and she agreed. She loved her brother as well and was all in to be there for him when the time came for him to open up. JT was also a little worried that he had not had a dream in a while and was hoping that when he did Grandma Lilly would be there. Time would tell.

Their weeks were full and ever changing but at breakfast Saturday, Max joined them as he was finally heading home after his extended stay. The kids were always happy to have him there but were also happy for him and a little sad that he was heading home. JT spoke up, Grandpa, I am really going to miss you, I hope you come back soon." He hesitated, "I know with Grandma gone, you might not have a reason but I hope you still come see us." The room got quiet as his words hit home for everyone. Max smiled, "Everyone, you are my family too and of course I will come back often. And you all are always welcome to come visit us in Colorado, anytime. You all need to know how much I love you all and how much you are a part of my life, a part of me. When I was fortunate to marry your grandma, I became family and family is always there for each other. And a bonus, free legal advice for you Maddie when you push the limits." Everyone laughed as they finished breakfast and the kids went out to check on the horses and get some work done. Amy spoke up, "Don't forget we have to be at Heartland around 3:00 for the BBQ." Everyone acknowledged her and headed out. Max set with them in the living room and had a final coffee. Ty spoke first, "Well I guess you see that those guys will miss you a lot and so will we. Max, I will never forget what you did fir my mom and all of us." They smiled and Amy added, "And you can see how much you mean to JT. You and GG are very important to him and he loves you both so much. But Max, like Ty said, we all love you so don't be a stranger." She went to hug him and Ty joined in as Max spoke up. "Well, I wanted to let you know that JT and I have agreed to video talk a couple of times a week and with Lou's help Jack is going to join us. It was his idea. He said he wanted us to be the first to know when he finally gets to catch up with Lilly. Guys I barely held it together when he said that. He is an amazing and special boy for sure." They all smiled and headed out to their day. Max hugged them again and said, "I have to head over to help getting things ready for the BBQ, I will see you there." Ty laughed, "You just want to take one last ride in your personal Gator." He smiled giving a thumbs up. The family gathered along with the members of the Board, who were promised a get together at the meeting. As usual an event at Heartland was always full of fun, laughter and a lot of love. The kids played outside as several of the men manned the grills under the watchful eye of Jack. He couldn't do the work, but he sure could tell them how to do it. Led by Lou and of course Maddie's supervision the ladies organized the sides and laid out the many pies that were brought. Caleb's team had set up the small tent and had the heaters ready since it was a little colder than expected. As everyone ate the regular groups sat together having conversations about anything and everything. Amy and Ty sat with the Webers, Fosters, Walsh's and Saunders. A lot of the talk was about kids but there was also work talk. Soraya asked Amy and Georgie about the Roman Riding horses and Amy spoke up. "Well they are a challenge and we are making progress but there is something we are missing." Georgie followed, "It's like they are missing something, like the glue that held them altogether. It's weird." Mallory spoke up as well, "Well, I remember a horsey girl I knew that always asked about the horse's environment at home. If there had been any changes or trauma? What did the owners say about that." Amy smiled at her oldest friend, "Well as usual Mallory you speak directly. We have asked them several times but there has to be something we are missing." All of a sudden, Georgie had a thought, "Remember when stupid Olivia had an issue with her horse when Ty was really sick and you were pregnant with Lyndy. She begged for you to come help but I went instead. What happened was that the horse was mad at Olivia, shocker, and the groom was the only human that he trusted. I had to help rebuild the bond between her and the horse and the groom had to help." Dillon spoke up, "I am no horsey person but have you asked about the groom or grooms?" Amy and Georgie looked at each other realizing the next step they had to take as each of them kissed Dillon on his cheek. He blushed brightly as they continued with their dinner.

As the group moved to desert, Amy and Ty walked into the living room and saw an amazing sight. Jack was surrounded by all the Borden kids along with several others, almost 20 in total. Lisa and Max were by his side as he was quietly talking to the wide eyed group. Lou leaned over as several of the parents were watching, "Lyndy asked him about Grandma Lyndy and mom so he has been telling stories about them. Then Annie asked how he met Lisa. He is almost ready to answer that." They listened in as he continued to speak and grabbed Lisa's hand. "Well actually, we met several times when Amy was helping one of Lisa's horses. But at a BBQ just like this is when I think we first realized that we more than liked each other. I was a little shy at first but I finally asked her to dance." JT laughed, "Come on GG, we know you are a lady's man." Everyone burst out laughing as the crowd continued to grow as everyone wanted to listen to the patriarch of the family. He continued, "Well we danced several times and both felt like maybe we could go further, even though we were so different. I was just an old rodeo cowboy and she was Lisa Stillman, business giant." Lisa slapped him in jest as everyone smiled. "We continued to see each other and after some hiccups, we finally got together and secretly got married, well except for your Grandpa Tim, who showed up." Everyone got a little quiet when Tim's name was mentioned. His health had declined to the point where he was placed in hospice care. Lou, Soctt, Ty and Amy had visited him a few times, but he did not even respond to them. Jack continued with his story as they kids and others listened in. JT asked him, "GG, I know the answer, but do you miss GG Lyndy?" He smiled, "You know kiddo, I am a lucky man. I have been loved two amazing woman. My Lyndy will always be a part of me, of us and Lisa is my love too. I bet the two of them would have been best friends." The room was quiet as JT spoke calmly, "I know that GG Lyndy has told me how much she loves Lisa and is so happy you both have each other. She misses you but is happy that Lisa and you are together. And you are right, she has mentioned that she believes that her and Lisa would be best friends. It's kind of cool." The room got silent as Jack motioned for him to come to his lap. As everyone looked on he hugged him tightly whispering, "Thanks for that JT, I am a very lucky man for sure." JT hugged him and smiled looking at his mom who was in tears. "Hey mom, can I have another piece of pie?" The room broke out into a comfortable laughter as tears were dried and smiles were everywhere. The party continued and soon, after helping to clean up everyone headed home. It had been a fun but emotional party and the Bordens settled in for the night. Amy laid in Ty's arms quietly rubbing her fingers over his chest. They kissed without words and their love escalated. Their love making was a comfort for them both after an emotional day listening to Jack. Their moans were stifled but filled with love and caring. As they gave themselves completely to each other they culminated with a mutual and amazing climax. The laid next to each other catching their breath and perspiring a bit. Amy rolled over to him and smiled, "Well that was fun, Dr. Borden you are quite a catch for sure." He smiled coyly, "Mrs. Borden, you aren't so bad yourself." She giggled, "Well based on what I heard, you seemed happy about what I was doing." The laughed holding each other whispering I love yous. The fell asleep holding each other as happy as they could ever be.

Monday morning breakfast was all hands on deck as another week was about to get underway. The talk was a bit subdued as yesterday the family all took Max to the airport for his trip home. Amy and Ty noticed that JT was close to him until he had to board the plane and their farewell was longer than the others. Everyone would miss him but understood that he needed to get back home. It was a busy week between work and school but everyone was on top of their routines and what needed to be done. At dinner on Sunday, Amy broached the subject of a family vacation on Spring Break. Since Wyatt and Lyndy would be graduating and starting their new life together, she felt it might be a last chance to do something together. Annie and Addie wanted some place warm, preferably with a beach and along with Maddie asked if their boyfriends could come too. When that came up JT of course asked about Trent and Shawna. Amy and Ty said they would consider it and would start looking at some options. Ty had to go to Edmonton overnight during the week with Scott for a difficult surgery at a vet hospital. They would be using one of their new innovative procedures as the operation would have an entire gallery of vets, college professors and selected students there to watch. It would be a challenge but Ty and Scott felt the exposure would be good for the company and they really wanted to help. All of the kids had a busy week at school and Annie was going to be busy preparing for the final Olympic qualifier next weekend. If she fared well she would be selected for the team and head off to the Olympic Games over the Summer in Los Angelas, CA. All of the family was excited but Amy and Georgie knew she would do well. As the week began, Amy and Georgie got right back to the two Roman Riding pairs but before they started them met with the owners and the trainers. Amy spoke up, "Well we are making slight progress with three of the four horses. Georgie has seen horses bonds before but these four are pretty close and have a very strong connection. We believe that some of the progress is due to the fact that they are helping each other. We are working with them in pens that are right next to each other for support. It is really amazing to see. But we have found, Juliet seems the most tentative and really seems to rely on the boys for help." Margo Musgraves smiled, "Well Amy, as you, Georgie and I know generally women are the strongest part of any relationship." As her husband rolled his eyes she continued, "But Juliet has always relied on the boys for support and guidance. Roland used to always say that she relied on them and that the boys treated her with respect. He used to say that she was the real strength but had a vulnerable side as well. It was that way when they competed or just hung out in the pasture with the other horses." Amy thought about what she said and had a revelation. Is Roland their groom, you mentioned that they had one that took care of all of them?" Margo's face got sullen, "He was but he passed a while back. He was older and got cancer but had cared for all four of them since they were foals. You should have seen them and how they reacted to him and followed him around. It was a special relationship and he was a special man." The group was silent until Amy and Georgie looked at each other and she spoke up, "Well then we believe that they are really missing him. We assume that the drop in performance was recent, did it align with his passing?" The owners looked at each other and shook their heads yes in unison. Amy smiled, "Well I think we hay have the answer. I figure they have a new groom, how soon can they get here?" Margo smiled, "She will be here first thing in the morning."

Scott and Ty were set up and ready to go. The gallery of people watching the surgery filled the viewing area and spilled over into another room where video screens were set up for them to watch. Ty and Scott were talking to the director of the center when he noticed a familiar face heading their way. As he went to hug him, he smiled, Wyatt, what are you doing here?" Well our professor heard about the surgery and brought several of the last year students up for a field trip. He knows our relationship and figured he could use me to get an invitation. I am kind of a celebrity with my classmates now." He smiled as Scott scoffed as he hugged his soon to be nephew in law, "Celebrity, yea right." They all laughed as Ty had a revelation. "Well you know how we operate and have helped on many surgeries, so scrub in, we could use another set of hands and eyes." His professor and the director were good with his involvement and his classmates gave him a lot of trouble as one joked, "Well if I marry one of his daughters could I help too?" Ty laughed, "Sorry they are all taken." Everyone laughed as Wyatt got some scrubs on and they prepared to start the procedure. As they began, Scott opened up to describe the procedure. "You all should have a packet describing the injury and our procedure. Diamond here has severely broken his front right leg just above the fetlock joint. Both the Cannon and Splint bones have been broken, but the break is clean. Since the break is so severe, in the past the horse would have to be put down. But we have developed a procedure where we repair the damage in install a sleeve around the break inside the leg for stability. This will allow the bones to heal without disruption and when they are we remove the sleeve. Any questions?" A few came from the viewers and Ty and Scott answered them. When finished they began the surgery. As they went through the repair of the bones they spoke through the process step by step. Wyatt stood close and when asked helped. Scott looked over and had him handle some of the minor steps of the process much to his delight. His classmate and professor were impressed and saw the reason why he had advanced so much in the program. His real world experience was evident in the way he calmly approach his responsibilities. One of the students leaned over to the professor, "Man he is good." The professor smiled in agreement confirming once again why they had made the decision to escalate his certification. Ty and Scott smiled between each other watching the young vet-to-be doing so well, something they had been noticing for a while. After they set the bones they took a break to go over the placement of the sleeve. Ty spoke up, "Since we already have the leg open we will fit the sleeves around the leg, clamping it together, making a solid piece. We have found that with the added support, the bones will heal quicker and stronger. The horse will have limited to walking and standing and will spend a lot of time elevated in a body harness. If all goes well we should be able to remove the sleeve in 4-6 weeks. Then after a few weeks of therapy, Diamond will be moved slowly into more active movement with gentle gallops with carrying a rider the ultimate goal." He stopped and Wyatt spoke up, "Right now we have four horses that have had this procedure and all of them have recovered well." Scott smiled, "Yeah, what he said. Good job Dr. Miller, can we proceed now?" The group laughed as they three of them moved on to the sleeve placement. The procedure went well and during it questioned were asked and answered. When the closed up everyone applauded as the tired surgeons went to clean up and go to a debrief with all of the attendees. Ty shook Scott and Wyatt's hands congratulating on a job well done. Wyatt spoke up, "Thanks for letting me assist, it was amazing, I am going to get back with my classmates." Ty smiled and put his arm around his future son-in-law, "No you will sit with the surgical team and answer questions as well. We are so proud of you and you deserve the accolades." He hugged him, "Wait till we tell the girls."

As they expected dinner was a celebration of the surgery and how well Wyatt had done. Lyndy beamed as her dad talked through how everything went and how Wyatt was right there helping. She grabbed his hand under that table and even thought it was just them, her parents, Maddie and JT, she was so proud. She spoke up, "Well this weekend we need to work on that crazy horse mom wants us to. We will see how the amazing Dr. Miller does." Everyone laughed as she was bursting with pride and admiration. Maddie laughed, "Geez Lyndy, you need to chill. I mean it's cool, and I am proud too but I mean this is something he will do for the rest of his life. Mom did you get excited when dad used to do cool things when he first became a vet." She smiled at Ty and leaned into him, "Honey, I still do, every time.: Ty smiled, "Just like I am always amazed when your mom fixes a horse that no one thinks can be. It is magical to see what she can do." JT shook his head smiling, "Maddie, you need to give it up, you have no chance of winning this one. These four are pretty weird sometimes, in a good way." They laughed as Amy went over the fact that they had determined that the groom that was handling the four Roman Riding horses had passed away and that was possibly why they had been underperforming. "Their new groom is coming up tomorrow and we are going to begin helping the horses bond better with her. It seems Juliet is the main issue so we will work with her first. It seems the boys look to her a bit for guidance, as most men do. So, once we get her on board the others will follow." JT interrupted, "Are you saying that us men just follow you women around blindly?" Now it was Maddie's turn, "You bet you do JT, in this family the women rule the roost." After dinner, Wyatt and Lyndy headed back to school and the family apartment. When they got there they found Annie, Addie, Jeremy, Desi, Maya and Bella, chilling watching TV, huddled together. Lyndy smiled, "You know us Borden girls have it pretty nice, don't you think?" Annie and Addie gave a thumbs up as Wyatt and Lyndy headed to bed. They got ready quietly as Lyndy was still amped up about what her man had done today. Wyatt was looking over some stuff getting ready for tomorrow classes as she climbed into bed, with his favorite PJ's on. He tossed the notes on his nightstand and pulled her in for a deep kiss. He began to pull at the hem of her top and whispered, "I love these but even more when they are off." She cooed, "Dr. Miller are you taking advantage of me." He smiled and kissed her deeply, taking her breath away. He continued moving his lips all over her now naked body. She effortlessly removed his t-shit and boxers and began her own advances. The moved to make sure that they completely pleasured each other as their moans, though suppressed were ongoing. A couple of times they had to put their hands over each other's mouths as the rest of the crew was just downstairs. Once they were sufficiently stimulated, Wyatt reached into the night stand drawer, grabbing a small foil packet. Lyndy looked at him slyly and took control, placing her hand on his hardened manhood. She lowered herself onto him as their movements were smooth and in sync. Their unselfish love making resulted in a consensual climax. She rolled off him as he discarded the contents of the package in the trash bin. They were breathless and perspiring as Lyndy whispered, "Looks like Bella moved the thermostat up again. Once they settled they faced each other wrapped in each other's arms. She smiled, "I really am proud of you. I couldn't help but notice how proud dad was." He kissed her deeply, "It was amazing, maybe not as amazing as this but still pretty cool." She giggled, "Good answer." They got dressed and Lyndy went to the bathroom. She ran into Addie who laughed, "You two need to keep it down. We have to turn the volume up. The good thing now is that Desi is pretty fired up, so thanks for that." Lyndy went back into the room and smiled as Wyatt was sound asleep. She quietly laid next to him, whispering I love you and quickly fell asleep.

As expected the next couple of days went extremely well for Amy and Georgie. The new groom was amazing and completely understood what needed to change. Working with the trainers and the groom, they spent the first morning just with Juliet, making sure Tom, Jerry and Romeo could see them with her. As expected, they were very interested in what was going on and when they were done, joined her in the paddock while everyone are lunch. The owners were ecstatic with the progress and understood they needed to be patient. For the next afternoon and following morning they worked with all four together and then broke them out with their partner. The afternoon of day two they went through the course with their riders who arrive that morning. It was a little shaky at first but eventually they got it and the horses and riders were in sync. Margo stepped over to Amy with a big smile on her face. "They are doing so well, you and Georgie are amazing. The Ridgeways told us what to expect but to be honest, we were a little skeptical." She laughed as Georgie came over along with Margo's husband and the groom. "Well our skepticism has been answered. They are really doing well and your approaches to helping horses are unique and perfect. How to you two do it?" Georgie told the story of the family horse healing heritage and how it all began with GG Lyndy's father, Thomas Payne. "He started it all and since then the women of our family have continued and improved the legacy. I never met my Grandma Marion, but the stories about her are legendary." Amy got quiet as Margo asked, "Is your mom here today Amy?" Georgie got wide eyed as Amy took her arm calmly looking at their guest. "My mom was killed in an accident with me when I was 15. We were saving Spartan, who became my horse. See that sign, Spartan is the black horse and the white one is Pegasus, my mom's horse. My mom showed me everything about helping horses and I have committed my life to carry on her work. Georgie, her sister Katie and my daughters Lyndy, Annie and now Maddie have also carried on the family's work along with several others like Haley Trudeau, sorry Soloman, she just got married last year. It is our mission to help every horse and owner that comes our way." They all smiled until Sean Musgraves spoke up, "Did you say Trudeau, like in Prime Minister Trudeau?" Georgie laughed, "Yep, one in the same. The Trudeaus are family friends and have been for years. Amy and Maryanne are like sisters. That wedding she mentioned was something else, especially with all the security details." The listened dumbfounded. Margo whispered, "Wow, you all are something else. I will spread the word in our circle of friends and let them know how amazing you all are." Amy smiled and turned the attention back to the horses and their riders. "Well, I think we are at a point where you can continue the work at your place. Come over for dinner tonight and we will lay out the plans for you and if you ever need us we are not against a road trip." They finished the work, settled the horses and the visitors went back to their accommodations to rest and get ready for dinner. That night was filled with fun and a great dinner from Maggie's. The next morning on Saturday, the entire group packed up and headed home after hugs and thank yous. Georgie stood next to Amy and smiled, I will never get tired if that."

Saturday was filled with work and fun for the family. Lyndy and Wyatt were going to work with the horse that Amy had given them. Rusty got him ready and again noticed he was definitely unruly. "His name is Spitfire and trust me it suits him. Do you want me to hang around?" Wyat smiled at his friend, "No it's Ok, we got it. Don't you know, Lyndy is a certified horse whisperer." She looked at him and smacked his arm, "I don't whisper to horses, I listen to them." Rusty laughed as he went to get some work done. Even though it was Saturday, there were so many horses at the Equine Center, several of the ranch hands including Caleb were in helping get the morning feeds done. Caleb even brought Ben and Rosey as Cass was helping Ellie with a shift at the vet clinic in Hudson. Ben had become a regular at the Ranch and had been helping out proclaiming that he wanted to be a ranch hand and rodeo cowboy. Cass was Ok with it and figured it would be inevitable and hoped that Rosey would look at begin a vet, or anything she wanted except a cowgirl. Spitfire was prancing around warily looking at Lyndy and Wyatt. They had met the horse as Wyatt had helped with the initial medical review and Lyndy had fed and walked him a few times. But in the confined space of the pen it was different at they look over each other. Lyndy had been told that he had acted up with several of the ranch hands even rearing up a few times. Wyatt and Lyndy reviewed the notes on the I-Pad and decided to make a go of it. Lyndy was going to lunge the horse for a bit and Wyatt would sit on the rail close in case she needed him. Lyndy's skills had escalated and she had shown that she had the gift full on. She got Spitfire moving around the pen. He was a magnificent horse and the hope was that he would be able to return back to jumping where he was a champion before he began acting up. She had talked to her mom and she told her that sometimes there are horses that lose the edge and cannot be helped. She smiled remembering her next words when she told her that that was the reason we do what we do, everything we can do to fix them. Lyndy was determined to help Spitfire as she lunged him forward. He responded well at first but seemed to get frustrated and began resisting her guidance to change direction. Wyatt noticed her frustration and spoke clearly, "Patience Lyndy, give him some time." She looked over to him smiling as sweat began to form on her brow and her hair was flying in the air. He actually thought she looked kind of hot but kept his focus on the horse. Several people began to come over to watch. The O'Dell kids came over with one of the other ranch hands as well as Annie and JT. They all knew to stay clear and let them work but Rosey tugged at Wyatt's pants and whispered, "He looks like a mean horse, he's scary." Annie when to pick her up and assured her everything was Ok. It had been almost two hours and Wyatt began to worry and looked at her, trying to get her to take a break, "Lyndy maybe you should take a minute." With the Fleming look he realized that he attempts were futile although Lyndy was beginning to tire. It was lunch time so she decided to take a break and get to it after lunch. She felt she had made progress and didn't want to lose it. As she settled the horse Wyatt jumped into the ring to help hook up the lead and take him to his stall. What happened next was like a bad dream for Lyndy.

As soon as he attempted to hook him up, he reared flailing wildly barely missing Lyndy's head. Caleb, Rusty and another ranch hand saw it and began to move toward the pen to help while Annie kept the kids at bay. JT's eyes were wide open as he had never seen such a possessed horse. Wyatt pivoted to protect Lyndy instinctively as the horse bolted just as he hooked him up. Lyndy watch helplessly and the roped tied onto Wyatt's hand and he was drug like a rag doll slamming into the rail several times. He would tell her later that the last thing he remembered was that she was safe and her screams. Wyatt laid there unconscious and bleeding in several places. Before the others could get to him Spitfire reared again as his front hoops came down on Wyatt's lower back. The group was stunned as Caleb and Rusty wrestled to get the horse settled. Lyndy was the first to get to him and by now Ty, Amy and several others had jumped in as well. Amy held her sobbing daughter and Caleb and Ty looked over helping Wyatt. Annie yelled out, "An ambulance it on the way, 15 minutes." Ty got him on his back and began to assess his injuries. Wyatt seized and along with Caleb they made sure he didn't hurt himself. Annie along with Addie took the kids a safe distance away but JT still stood their motionless with tears in his eyes. Haley who had come over, took him into her arms to comfort him as he watched his best friend lay motionless on the dirt. Once the seizure stopped, Ty became alarmed. He looked at Caleb and whispered, "He has stopped breathing, I am going to start compressions. I hope the ambulance gets her soon. Lyndy watched in a catatonic state as her father and his best friend worked frantically to keep Wyatt alive until help came. She buried her head into her mom's chest as now they both were crying. Georgie and Katie joined the two of them and the four women held each other tightly. Finally the sound of sirens drew near. Lyndy lost all concept of time as the paramedics took over with Ty and Caleb close by. She did here one say, "He is stable now, great work Dr Borden. But we need to go now. We need to take him to the University Hospital and I think he is stable enough to make it." Ty agreed and looked over to Amy telling her with his eyes that her and Lyndy needed to go along in the ambulance. He came over to hug his daughter whispering, "Honey he is stable and he will be Ok. He is tough and will be fine. You go with mom and we will follow." She buried her head into his chest unable to speak. They loaded up and the others gathered in several vehicles to follow. As the got in the ambulance, Lyndy reach over and clutched his hand tightly whispering, "Please come back to me Wyatt."
