"Do we have to invite Aunt Magica?" Lena asked as they trudged through the swamps. Team Dream Keeper was currently tracking down Magica de Spell to give her an invitation to Poe and Rachel's wedding, as per her brother's request.

"Yes, Lena. I know she doesn't have the best history with you or frankly any of the Mickey-related characters, but Poe still loves her. It's only fair that she's given a chance to be there," Gabriel replied.

"You guys took a chance on me. Who's to say she won't reform or something?" Randall added.

"But you aren't crazy like my aunt is," Lena shook her head. She looked over at Jameson, the little owl riding on Sisu's back as they went along. "You sure you want to be here, cousin?"

Jameson nodded. "I'm not the scared little kid that does whatever Magica says anymore. If you can stand up to your abuser, then so can I!"

"Plus we can totally put her in her place if she tries anything," Brooklyn said, pounding a fist into his open hand.

"I'll help as well," said Cerwyn, Rachel's sister, who was walking next to Gabriel.

"Glad you could come with us, Cerwyn. Honestly, sometimes I forget that you live here in the Magical World," Gabriel said.

"Well, Bruno and I like to keep to ourselves instead of standing out," the older girl laughed.

"…Here we are," Lena said, pushing away some underbrush and revealing a gloomy swamp hut. "At least it looks like she's cleaned up the place since I last saw it."

"Yeah, it's not covered in pizza boxes," Gabriel nodded. As the group approached the hut, the raven knocked on the door. "Hello! Magica de Spell? Are you in there?"

The group waited around for a minute before Brooklyn shrugged. "Maybe she's out at the moment?"

"Then let's just invite ourselves inside," Lena said, pushing open the door.

"I'm not seeing anyone else in here either," Randall frowned, crawling around the room and looking into anything that a witch could reasonably be hiding in.

"She left her buzzard here," Cerwyn noted, jumping back a bit as the caged vulture cawed at the intruders.

"Hey Bradford. Just looking around until Mom gets back," Jameson greeted.

"Look, if she's not here, then let's just leave the letter and go," Lena said, already heading out the door. "Then it's on her if she wants to come to her brother's wedding or not."

"Lena, we really should give it to her in person," Gabriel argued.

Before the teen duck could reply, an odd noise filled the air, making everyone rush outside the hut to see what was going on. The sound was a wheezing, groaning noise, as if something was being scraped against the strings of a piano. Fading into existence was a blue police box, which made everyone look on in confusion, though Gabriel suddenly got a huge grin on his face.

"Oh. My. Goodness!" the raven squeed, hopping on his toes in delight.

"What's up with him?" Sisu whispered.

"Beats me," Jameson shrugged.

"I mean, I knew the new series was going to be on Disney Plus, but I didn't think he'd adventure here in the Magical World as well!" Gabriel exclaimed as the police box stopped making its odd noise.

Out of the box stepped two individuals, one of them familiar and one of them a new face. The first was Magica de Spell in all of her green-feathered glory, while accompanying her was a man in a blue suit with a short pompadour-like hairstyle. The two of them were laughing at some sort of joke of them had made before realizing they had company.

"Oh, it's you two," Magica frowned, staring at Lena and Jameson. The owl gasped and hid behind his cousin, Lena's eye glowing blue as she readied some magic. "And you brought some of your friends as well. What is it you want? If it's a fight, then I'm not interested."

"We're here to deliver you a letter, Magica de Spell," Brooklyn said, tossing the letter to the witch. "It's from your brother."

"Poe?" Magica gasped, looking at the letter in shock. "But how? Last I saw him he had been turned into a raven, never to be seen again."

"Yeah well, long story short I made a wish that brought Dad back to his normal self. He's been living a good life now, all things considered," Lena replied.

"And you didn't think to tell me about my brother's reappearance?" Magica frowned.

"I-It's not that we didn't want to tell you, more like Uncle Poe wanting to do it himself," Jameson spoke up.

"…Of course my creation failed to tell me this fact before turning against me," Magica sighed.

"Now, now, Magica, I'm sure your brother had his reasons," the man in the blue suit said.

"Excuse me, but who exactly are you?" Cerwyn asked. "I didn't think Magica had any friends."

"Oh right, sorry. I'm a bit of a newcomer to this Magical World," the man apologized. "Nice to meet you all. I'm the Doctor."

"Doctor who?" Sisu asked.

Gabriel laughed. "He's just "The Doctor", Sisu. He's a Time Lord that travels time and space in his TARDIS, battling evil and going on outrageous adventures."

"Right. I think I've seen some reruns of the show on TV before," Brooklyn nodded.

"I was going to point out that he sounds kinda like Scrooge," Jameson noted.

"Same actor," Gabriel said. "This is the fourteenth version of the Doctor, who has the same face as the tenth Doctor… Oh, the Doctor can regenerate whenever he dies into a new person, which is how they explain the actor changing every few years."

"I know sometimes you may see other Me's running around, so you may call me Fourteen if that makes it easier," the Doctor said. "Anyways, it's a funny story how Magica and I met, actually. The TARDIS was acting up so I had to make an emergency stop here in the swamp when this batty old duck comes at me with her magic."

"I thought he was a trick from Scrooge, seeing as they sounded the same," Magica said.

"And I thought she was a version of one of my companions, Donna, from another world," Fourteen added. "So we got into a bit of a scuffle, and the TARDIS ended up taking us on an unexpected adventure. I wasn't about to let a dangerous witch go on the loose, so Magica became my newest companion until I could fix the TARDIS and get us back here. That's when you lot arrived I suppose."

"Sounds like a big story," Randall said. "Still, we just came to deliver the letter, not get your backstory up to this point."

"To be fair, that would explain why I haven't seen Magica during my time here in the Magical World…" Gabriel hummed.

Magica ignored their banter and opened up the letter, reading the contents inside.

"Dear Sister:

If you're reading this, then know that I, Poe de Spell, am of good health and safe. It was the creation you made with my amulet, Lena, that broke my curse and returned me to my true form. I have since then aided my daughter on many an occasion alongside her friends and have now found love.

Her name his Rachel Godfrey, a sword mage who has a strong sense of justice yet also isn't afraid to dabble in the dark arts. We have saved each other many times, and I have recently asked her for her hand in marriage, which she accepted. I know that you still consider yourself a villain and have made many enemies, including the likes of my daughter and your son, Jameson, but I still wish to give you the invitation to come to our wedding- on the condition that you be on your best behavior, of course. There will be consequences if you try to harm Lena or Jameson.

I give you this chance because you are my sister, and no matter if we are on opposite sides now, I still love you as your brother. If you accept, the wedding will be held on New Year's Eve, so please wear your best attire for the event.

Love your brother,

Poe."

Magica put down the letter, tears in her eyes as she covered her beak. "This is his handwriting. Poe… my brother is…"

"Alive, and he really wants to see you again," Lena said. "I personally don't forgive you after everything you've done to me, but I still want to support Dad and his decisions. So as long as you can play nice, you can come to the wedding."

"And maybe we could… teach you not to be evil?" Jameson added.

Magica laughed. "Oh please, I relish in being evil! That's not changing any time soon, child."

"Well, at least you tried asking…" Sisu sighed.

"Trust me, even going on a life-changing adventure with the Doctor didn't sway her to good," Fourteen said.

"Still, I do want to see my brother again, so tell him that I will be attending," Magica said. "I probably would have crashed his wedding and cursed his firstborn if he didn't invite me anyway."

"What are you, Maleficent?" Randall raised an eyebrow.

"We have tea together on Thursdays," Magica replied. "Hm, it says here that I can bring a plus one to the event. Doctor, I believe you can help with that."

"Wait, are you two…?" Gabriel questioned.

Fourteen laughed. "No, no, Magica just happened to catch someone's fancy during our travels. It was when we went to Asgard, yes? You and that God of Mischief really hit it off when we saved the realm from an invasion of Cybermen."

"Magica and Loki? …Actually, that makes sense," Cerwyn said.

"Not the Loki, but a Loki," Fourteen corrected. "I hear that main Loki is a bit busy as the God of Stories right now."

"I was going to say. But either way, all Loki's deserve a chance to be happy and find love," Cerwyn said.

"I'll be interested to see which Loki shows up myself," Gabriel nodded. "Well, we did what we came here for. Let's go, team."

As Team Dream Keeper left, Fourteen stepped back into his TARDIS to leave as well, giving his farewells to Magica before the Time Lord took his exit. The witch stood by herself before calling out, "Jameson!" The little owl paused before having a sack thrown in his face. "This is the last of your stuff you left behind before running away. Might as well take it with you so I don't have to see you around here again."

Jameson looked at Magica with confusion before opening up the bag. He pulled out a stitched together plushie of a Meow Wow Dream Eater and smiled a bit. "Thanks… Mom," Jameson whispered before hopping back on Sisu's back.

"What'd she give you, kid?" the water dragon asked.

"Just a reminder of when Magica wasn't as terrible as she is now," Jameson replied.

Author's Note

Magica is coming to the wedding after all! She's still a villain and doesn't regret her actions in evil, but her love for her brother outweighs her hatred of Scrooge or the other heroes. She'll just have to play nice at the big event. I also wanted Jameson to be here to confront his mother, and while Magica was still a bad mom to him, her giving him his old plushie back shows that she did care for him at one point, even if it was in her own way.

The Fourteen Doctor from "Doctor Who" also appeared here, which is thanks to the show getting picked up for streaming on Disney Plus this year for the anniversary specials and the new series following the Fifteenth Doctor. I wanted Fourteen to be the one that Magica befriends since David Tennant and Catherine Tate were both in Doctor Who and Ducktales 2017 together (as the Doctor and his companion Donna and Scrooge and Magica, respectively for both shows).

It sounds like Magica also found herself a lover during their travels as well in the form of a Loki! Princess Gakoshi suggested Magica and Loki as a pair and I thought it was a good idea, though I wanted to take it in a different direction and have a variant Loki be Magica's lover instead of the main Loki from the TV series (aka God of Stories Loki). You'll see which Loki ends up with Magica during the big wedding chapter!

Next Time: Gabriel has a big Christmas event with Team Dream Keeper, alongside his counterparts from the Epic Universe, Gamesphere, and others!
