A/n Thank you all for reading, glad you liked it. And thank you for the reviews and favorites.
Two weeks later.
Callie had just finished up a case that involved a bank robbery and twin brothers. Glad she could prove that one brother was innocent; she felt she deserved a treat. So she made reservations at her favorite restaurant. And snuck in another hair appointment. Just a simple blow out. Honestly it was just a ploy to maybe see that special stylist again. She had been on her mind all week.
"Hey Suzie! Do you have any openings for today? Maybe with the new girl. Um Arizona?" Callie asked. Pretending not to know the name of the girl she literally hasn't stopped thinking about.
Suzie chuckled.
"Yes we do, how's 2 pm?" Callie looked at her gold watch with tiny pink stones. Two hours. That's doable.
"Yes, I'll take it! Thank you're the best!" Callie said in a cheerful voice. Maybe a little too cheerful.
Back at the salon Suzie yelled for Arizona who had just finished up a color job. Arizona stripped off her gloves and headed towards the perky redhead.
"Just filled your 3pm slot" Arizona kinda frowned.
"Ah bummer, I was hoping to catch a late lunch." Arizona sulked.
"It's with Callie," Suzie chuckled at the blonde's instant smile. Arizona had asked every day if Callie had made any new appointments, knowing it was far too soon.
"Well I guess I can skip today. Thanks suz." Arizona turned on her heels and bounced off. No longer hungry for food.
Callie got there with 15 minutes to spare; she checked in. taking a seat she patiently waited for her name to be called.
"Callie!" Damn that came out way more excited then Arizona had hoped. Callie leapt up and headed toward the smiling small woman.
"How's it going Callie?" Callie thought that Arizona's Demeanor was a lot nicer than her last time. Though also thinking that it was kinda hot last time. Either way she was hot.
"Good! Just proved my clients innocence soo what better way to celebrate than to have a very pretty stylist shampoo my hair. Callie threw a wink in the lady's direction and walked away. Heading to the fifth chair in the row of 6 chairs leaving a dumbfounded Arizona and a smirking Callie. She hopped up in the chair and let Arizona go to work.
"You did a fabulous job last time Arizona." Callie complimented the young blue eyed women.
"Thank you Callie." Arizona blushed.
The girls chit chatted while Arizona did callie's hair. First they talked about what Callie did for work. Arizona was very impressed that she was a lawyer and that she only represented the proven innocent. Then they talked about how long Arizona has been a stylist and the fact that she loves it. They skirted around family but Callie doesn't talk about hers much. Arizona on the other hand was pretty close with her parents and her brother. Callie did tell Arizona she had an older sister.
"Arizona i'm gonna be a little forward here. Would you like to have lunch with me sometime?"
Callie asked as confident as she could.
"Like on a date?" Arizona asked hopeful.
"Yes, a date!" Callie squeaked out.
"I would love to Callie. When were you thinking?"
"How about today?" Callie laughed then added "No whenever you're free."
"Well I'm off in two hours. How about dinner instead?" Arizona offered.
"I'd love that Arizona" both girls smiled big.
Callie went back home and got ready. She knew that Arizoan was already wearing a baby blue t-shirt with a unicorn on it. And a pair of blue jeans and blue tennis shoes. So Callie wanted to dress accordingly. So she chose for herself a pair of black converse, blue jeans and a red rolling stones t-shirt. Callie went out the parking lot and got in her 1950s old car that she and her dad restored when she was a teenager. It was mint green with white leather interior. It was also her prized possession.
Callie pulled up to the hair salon at exactly 5 pm, she got out and opened the door for arizona both the car door and the salon door. Callie admired how beautiful Arizona looked even in just her t-shirt and jeans and her hair pulled back in a tight ponytail.
"You look amazing Arizona." Callie stammered.
"Thank you! You look beautiful yourself Callie"
They drove to the restaurant in mostly silence. When they arrived at Divinchie's, Callie put her hand on Arizona's leg signaling she would open the door. She got out of the car and swiftly walked around the car, opening the door for the vibrant lady.
"M'lady" Callie chuckled as she opened the door and held her hand out for Arizona to take her hand.
"Thank you for ma'am" Arizona matched Callies chuckle. They went inside and waited to be seated.
"Party of 2 for?" the hostess asked.
"Yes torres please." Callie spoke.
After a 15 minute wait they were seated and given menus. They sat quietly at first going over the menu and both a little nervous. Callie decided she would have the baked garlic chicken and roasted potatoes and a glass of water as she was driving. Arizona ordered Steamed salmon and asparagus. With one glass of white wine at Callies persistence . This is when the conversation really picked up.
"Arizona, have you lived in Manhattan long?" Callie questioned.
"About 4 months. I just moved here from west philadelphia. I was born and raised there. Decided i needed a fresh start to see the world a little more."
"What made you choose manhattan?"
"Well my brother Tim was married to the owner of the salon and after their divorce she told me if i ever needed a job just to come to the salon and i wasn't exactly thinking here but then she had a chair open up and i wanted out so i took her up on her offer. And here I am. What about you?"
I'm Manhattan born and raised. Went to college and opened my law firm here. Went to elementary school here." Callie kinda chuckled.
" Have you ever thought about getting out?"
"All the time."
"Where would you go?" Arizona pried.
"I would love to go maine. My family vacationed there a lot as a kid and it's just beautiful. The mountains and the scenery. The water, everything is just gorgeous." Callie thought back to her time in Maine as a kid.
The rest of the date was spent talking about a little of everything. From childhood dreams, Callie always wanted to be a lawyer, married and have two kids and a dog. Arizona had bounced around from wanting to be a doctor to a detective to landing on a stylist as a teenager. She didn't want any kids though. But chickens.
When the check came Arizona reached for it but Callie reminded her she asked her to dinner. And paid. She scrippled her signature on the receipt and placed it on the table. Arizona happened to glance down and see Calliope Torres written down.
"Calliope, is that your full name?" Arizona asked.
"Yah but most people just call me Callie" Though she loved the way it sounded rolling off the blonde's tongue.
"I love it it's so beautiful" Callie just smile at her and thought she could get used to this.
Callie drove Arizona home and kissed her goodnight softly at her door after walking her up and then got back in her car and drove home. She had the best night she had had in a long time. Tonight was better than any night she had had with stephanie.
