Hey.

Sorry this took so long. I've been busy editing Part 1 of the story. Looking back, that and Part 2 weren't very good. There was a lot of weird dialogue and I was constantly switching between past, present, and future tenses. Hopefully, both of those problems have been fixed.

Chapter 2

Cloak-Bot

After flying for a while, Matt felt himself getting tired. He landed at a gas station in a nearby town. He set Aaron down and leaned on a nearby pole.

"You okay?" asked Aaron.

"I'm fine," Matt assured. "I just don't think I'll be able to fly for a while."

"Since we're here, we can ask for directions."

"Yeah, I'll go inside that store and ask for directions. You should stay out here. There's no telling how the people in there will react to you. It's best if you hide."

Aaron was reluctant at first. He quickly realized that he wasn't very trusting towards Matt at first, so it's likely people in his world won't react very positively to a walking, talking frog. He nodded and went to find a place to hide.

Matt walked inside the store. He quickly found a person working at the front desk.

The person was a man around his late teens to early twenties. He had straightened, brown hair in a mullet. He had a small goatee on his chin. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, gray pants, a born hat, and a badge with the name "Steve" on it. He was staring at his phone.

"Hi, how may I help you?" he said without looking up. It was very clear he did not want to be here.

"Hi," said Matt. "I'm lost. Uh… can you tell me how to get to Los Angeles?"

"Kid, you're in Oxford, Massachusetts. LA is very far from where we're at."

"I'm really that far away?"

"Kid, what kind of joke are you playing?"

Steve finally looked up from his phone and looked at Matt. There was a surprised look on his face.

Outside, Aaron was waiting for Matt at the side of the store.

At some point, Aaron saw the door open itself. Matt told him a thing or two about doors that open themselves when someone is close, but he wasn't close to the door. He knew there was something off.

"You're Matthew Ellis, aren't you?" Steve asked.

Matt started to feel uncomfortable. "You know about me?"

"Aren't you that young Youtube star who went missing with those three girls?" Steve showed an image of Matt, Anne, Sasha, and Marcy covering a song.

Matt opened his mouth to speak, but then he felt something grab him. This force held him tightly, keeping him from being able to breathe.

Steve had no idea what was going on. He hid under the desk in fear.

Aaron ran inside and saw Matt being suspended in the air. He noticed Matt's spear fall on the ground. He ran to grab it, but then he felt something grab his arm.

A thin robot with a scaly body appeared out of thin air. It laughed maniacally.

Despite having trouble breathing, Matt was able to concentrate enough to form a ball of energy. He punched the robot in the arm, forcing it to let them go.

Once on the ground, Matt quickly grabbed his spear and tried to stab the robot. His spear could only barely pierce through the armor. The robot seemed unfazed.

"Shit," Matt muttered.

Matt and Aaron ran out of the store. The robot chased after them.

Once they were far enough out, Matt tried to use his powers to fend off the robot. Sadly, Matt was too tired to use his full power.

The robot turned to look behind Matt. Matt looked behind him and saw a car passing by. When Matt turned back, the bot was gone. He quickly looked around for any sign of the bot. He felt himself get lifted up into the air. He realized that the robot was cloaking itself. He formed another small energy ball and hit the robot again, forcing it to reveal itself and let him go.

Matt attempted once more to stab the robot with his spear. He stabbed it in the same place he stabbed it the first time. This time, he was able to stab a little deeper. The bot seemed to feel it this time.

Before Matt could do any more, the bot swung its arm and hit Matt. He was sent flying aside. The robot moved closer to Matt. It reached its arm out, about to finish the job.

"Get away from him!" Aaron shouted as he grabbed the robot.

The robot simply grabbed Aaron and threw him next to Matt.

Matt tried to form another ball of energy. It was a small ball. He knew he couldn't damage the robot with it.

That's when a new idea popped into his head. He channeled whatever energy he could. He closed his eyes. He held his hand against his chest. He felt the energy flowing into his body.

When he opened his eyes, they were glowing teal yet again. He stood up as his hair turned teal. Matt formed two balls of energy with his fists. He stared at the robot. The robot stared back.

The two enemies charged towards each other. Matt landed the first hit. He punched the robot hard on the chest, sending it flying back. Matt then flew towards the robot before uppercutting its face. He landed the hardest possible punch he could. The robot was sent flying miles away.

Matt turned back to Aaron and helped him up.

"You okay?" asked Matt.

"Yeah," Aaron replied.

"Come on. We gotta keep moving."

"Sorry, but I'm really tired. I mean, we haven't slept since the Battle of the Bands. I could use some rest."

Matt realized his boyfriend was right. He looked around for any places to rest. Thankfully, there was a motel not far from where they were at.

The two walked over to the motel and entered the main lobby. Matt simply asked for a room with a single bed.

He went into his backpack and found his wallet. He looked in his wallet and found a couple of twenty-dollar bills in there. He gave those bills to the worker. She gave a couple bucks back as change before handing him the key to the room.

As Matt put the wallet back in his backpack, he noticed something off. He saw a book in his backpack that he never saw before.

Before he could look at it, Aaron cleared his throat. Matt shut the backpack and walked with Aaron to their room.

Once Matt and Aaron got into the room, the first thing they did was take a look around.

Matt took off his armor to reveal his torn up school uniform.

Matt climbed onto the bed next to Aaron. He and Aaron shared a kiss goodnight before falling asleep.

After sleeping for a few hours, Matt bolted awake. The thought of the book he saw was on his mind.

Matt climbed out of bed, grabbed his backpack, and walked into the bathroom.

Once Matt got in the bathroom, he turned on the light and opened his backpack. He pulled the book out. He read the cover.

Marcy's Journal

Matt didn't want to read it at first, it wasn't his journal after all, but his curiosity got the better of him. He opened the journal and started reading.

Elsewhere, the robot laid on the ground unconscious. After a few seconds, it's gray eyes glowed red. It stood up. It was not done yet.

A.N.

That's the first two chapters done.

My initial plan was to have Matt and Aaron end up in LA with Anne and the Plantars. After a while, I decided that a lot of Amphibia OC Inserts have done this and it's overused.

I also thought about having Matt stay in Amphibia with Sasha, as they set aside their baggage and work together to form the Wartwood Resistance, slowly reconnecting while doing so. In the end, I decided against that for something even better.

You see, Amphibia's third season perfectly separated the girls at the start. Anne went to Earth, Sasha escaped Andrias' clutches, and Marcy got put in the rejuvenation tank, where she'd eventually be possessed by The Core. With that, I decided to have Matt and Aaron end up on earth, just in a different place, thus perfectly separating the quartet.

In this universe, Matt is the one that ends up with Marcy's Journal. Unlike Anne, Matt's not going to write in it. It's not his journal, and he knows better than to write in someone else's journal.

Anyway, I won't go straight to working on Part 4 of the Stranger Things rewrite. I'm planning to edit Part 2 of this fanfiction. That'll take a couple days at least.
