CH 14
They got into Nikki car and drove back to her place so she could put the buckets and vacuum cleaner away then she and Pete check to see where every thing is before leaving to go back to Mike place
"We need to sort out what we going to sell and what we going to keep" Pete said
"I agree"
When they return back to Mike and Kate house, every one was having late lunch. So Pete and Nikki went and help them selves to food and got them selves a drink before joining every one who there. They all had a relaxing afternoon till Mike and Nikki families left since they were flying home.
After they left the crew stayed for another hour before they left for home since some of them are tired.
When Nikki and Pete arrived home Tom and Heidi was already home with the kids. So they went up stairs to Nikki bedroom which is there's now and look around at the sight before them. In the room was Pete draws they were next to Nikki draws, his sea bag and boxes of stuff was on Nikki bed
"We should sort this out" Nikki said
"Yeah great idea" they talk about where they going to put every thing as well move dressers around.
Once done and every thing put away. They both collapsed on the bed. "Nikki we need to get a new bedroom suite" Nikki laugh
"I agree but with the wedding, our money has been tight"
"Hey" he look down at her since she was snuggling up to his side. She look up
"We can trade it in and when I get bond money back I can pay for the rest of it"
"Are you sure Pete"
"Yes" he lean over and kiss her.
"We should have an early night" Pete said as he hand went under her top
"sounds good to me, it been a busy couple of days"
"True"
He move so he could kiss her while his hand move her bra up to he could cup her breast. There kiss became passionate till there was a knock on the door, which cause Pete to groan against Nikki neck which made her smile
"don't say a thing" Pete whisper to her
"mum dad, auntie Heidi want to know when are you coming down for tea" Nick said yelling from the close door
"We will be there soon Nick" Nikki called out
"ok, sorry if I woke you and dad up" then they heard him walk away.
Pete move so he could look at Nikki "we differently need an early night" Nikki laugh
"Yes we do" they kiss before getting up and tired there clothes up before walking out of the bedroom and down stairs.
After kids gone to bed Nikki and Pete waited for an hour before going to bed them selves after saying there good night to Heidi and Tom. That night they made slow passionate love before falling asleep in each other arms.
The next day after Heidi and tom left to take kids to school and day care. Pete and Nikki was all alone in the house so they went and start packing there bags since they going to be away for three weeks.
Once every thing was done and that got an hour before there taxi arrive Pete pick Nikki up and toss her onto the bed then he was on top of her smiling "Pete are you ok"
"Yes I am" then he started kissing her neck while his hands went to mover her skirt up. Nikki knew what her wanted to she help him by flipping them both over then she sat up
"Hey"
"We got less than an hour Pete" then she move her hand down to his belt of his jeans.
They quickly remove each others clothes then they made love once again with Pete on top of Nikki going hard and fast till she scream out his name over and over again till he collapsed on top of her while catching his breath. Then he move so he could look at her looking all flush
"Feeling better" Nikki asked while smiling
"Yes much, now I need another shower" Nikki laugh
"it will have to be a quick one for us both"
"Yeah" he kiss her before getting up then he help Nikki and and they walk into the bathroom where they had a quick shower then gotten dress.
Once done and the bathroom clean up. They took there bags down stairs. They pick up there keys, air plane tickets and Nikki purse bag. Then they pick there bags up and walk out side just as the taxi showed up.
Few hours later Pete and Nikki walk up the drive way of his mum house. They walk around to the back door where Pete open it "mum, where here" Pete said
when they walk in side then stop when they heard crying. Pete put his bags down and walk out of of the kitchen following the crying, he saw his mum in the living room crying
"mum what wrong" she look up
"oh Peter" He crouch down close to her as she lean forward to hug him
"Hey what wrong" he rub her back till he move to lean back in her chair
"It your sisters"
"what have they said to up set you"
"they want money so they could come to your wedding. I told them I don't have any to spare. I said to them that they known for months when the wedding is and had time to save up for it. They got nasty with me Pete I couldn't take it any more so I hung up"
"you did good mum, I'm prod of you"
"you taught me to be strong and to stand up to them and I did"
"Yes you did. So how have you been feeling before the phone call?"
"I've been great, I've been looking ford to seeing you today and looking forward to Saturday, but we shall see how I'm feeling then"
"Still feeling a bit weak in the legs" Pete asked
"Yes"
"ok look Nikki and I will put our bags away and we will get dinner on ok"
"Sounds good, where is Nikki"
"I'm Here Vicky" Nikki walk into the living room just as Pete stood up and step back just as Nikki step forward and bend over to give her a hug.
"How are you my dear looking forward to Saturday"
"Yes I am"
"I'll put our bags away and make us a cup of tea"
"thanks Pete" Nikki sat down on the couch next to Vicky lazy boy chair.
"How was your hens night" Pete walk out of the room leaving Nikki and his mum to talk.
After he put the bags away and made them a drink, he was walking back into the living room carrying a tray when he heard him mum laughing. "Pete trying to sing, that would have been very funny"
"Oh it was, here" she got her phone out of her pocket and look through her messages and then look at Vicky.
"I better warn you, some of the things he said not only shock me but made me blush"
"ok"
Nikki press play then she turn the volume up just as Pete put the tray on the table then he look at his shock mum then to grinning Nikki then back to his still shock mum. Then he look at Nikki cell phone in shock.
When it stop Vicky look at her shock son "peter I couldn't believe what you said"
"Neither could I mum, and what worse they whole hens bridal party heard it. I mean Nikki mum, sister in laws, our XO, couple of crew members, not to mention captain sisters and his mum."
"that would have been a shocker alright" Pete bend over to make them all a drink.
"they did have a good laugh from it. Kate she said to me if he thinking those things while drunk, what is he think when sober"
"that is a good question" Vicky said grinning
"thanks a lot Nikki"
"Well it nothing compered to when all the men had to face Kate, there wives, fiancees. That was a lot worse" Nikki said just as Pete pass his mum and Vicky a cup of tea then he pick his up and walk around and sat down next to Nikki
"How can that be worse" Nikki smile
"when the men return they were tripping over each other and they were supporting each other while standing up when they got out of the taxi vans" Vicky laugh
"Were they that drunk"
"Yes but what worse was Pete wasn't with them" Vicky was shock
"what"
"they couldn't even remember the last bar they went to"
"oh no, that not good leave the groom behind, but from what I heard from Pete message, sounds like some one was in trouble"
"they all were" Pete said.
Nikki and Pete told her what happen yesterday morning, she laugh. Vicky enjoy having Pete and Nikki with her for a few days.
Over the next few days, Pete fix thing around the house for Vicky while Nikki and Vicky talk about the up coming wedding, Vicky even showed Nikki her wedding album from when she got married.
On Thursday the three of them went into town to do some shopping and went to the pier one Sydney harbor hotel to get the last minute things sorted out. While there Pete and Nikki showed Vicky where the wedding receptions is being held.
Even though she in a wheel chair since she only can stand up for about five minutes before her legs starts to give way. When she saw the room and the view, she smile. Pete walk around and crouch down in front of her.
"what do you think mum"
"I love it, it got a great view Pete. I can see why you and Nikki choice this place"
"thanks mum."
When they finshing things at the hotel, they left to get some lunch at a cafe down on the water front. Pete went to order there lunch while Nikki and Vicky waited out side at a table. They talk and laugh till Pete walk out side with a tray, he put it on the table then sorted out the drinks and plates of food.
"Is that all you going to eat Pete" Nikki asked when she saw that there was only one plate in front of him that got custard square on it.
"No"
"what did you order" Vicky asked
"Steak burger"
"and" Nikki asked
"chips"
"Thought so" Vicky and Nikki got club sandwiches and custard square each.
Plus they all got orange juice for drinks. They talk about what they going to do this after noon till Pete saw two men walking toward them
"Nikki" he nudge with his head.
She turn to see what Pete was looking at then back to him "Feds"
"Yeah, I wounder what they want, excuse me" Pete said before standing up and walking over to them.
Nikki and Vicky watch Pete talk to them for few minutes then Peter return and sat down just as waitress walk out with Pete lunch. She put it on the table in front of him
"thanks you ma'am" Pete said
"Enjoy" then she turn and walk back into the cafe.
"what did the feds want?" Nikki asked
"They let me know that the money that Rick Gallagher was paying me when I was working under cover"
"Yes what about it"
"Feds said I can have it as comperstation and given me this" he pass Nikki an envelope she open it and pulled out a letter and bank book.
She read the letter "wow as an reward for the work you done and for the evidence you provided plus the capture of wanted teariest"
"Even I was shock, six months plus bonuses"
"do you know how much is in the account"
"no cause the feds was holding onto it" Nikki open the saving account till the last payment. She was shock when she saw how much there was.
Then she look up at Pete "what"
"Pete there almost one hundred and fifty thousand dollars" she show him the book.
When he saw how much there was "wow" then he look at his mum and put his hand in to hers
"mum now we got the money to have the house replied, bigger doors, wheel chair ramp and the front porch done"
"don't forget the windows" Nikki said
"that to"
"no Pete don't waste your money on my house"
"mum I want to"
"your a good boy"
"Yes mum" then he turn to see Nikki munching on one of his chips.
They ate lunch while change there plans for the afternoon. After lunch and they been to the toilet, they went to a phone Booth where Pete look up different builders companies. He made some calls while there. When done they went to do some shopping.
"The builders coming around tomorrow to give a price quote on getting things done mum"
"You better save some of that money for your self"
"Yes mum I will"
They went and did some shopping. Pete and Nikki took Vicky into a store, they look around till a sale assistant walk over to them "Hello may I help you" the women asked with a smile
"Yes, my fiancee and I want to buy my mum here a dress"
"Pete no" she look up at him
"Yes mum. You do need a dress to wear on Saturday" Pete said looking at his mum
"We getting married this Saturday" Nikki said
"Ok let's see what we can find, shall we" they spent over an hour at the store.
Vicky try on number of dresses that the assistant got for her to try on while Nikki look around the store till she found the one she knows that Vicky would like. So she walk over to the change rooms when the assistant walk out with a dress that Vicky didn't like
"Vicky I found one you would like" Nikki said
"Ok show me it" Nikki open the door and walk into the chaining room.
"How about this" Nikki show her the dress. "Oh Nikki" Vicky said in shock
"You like it"
"Yes"
"I'll help you try it on"
"Ok" Nikki turn to the sale assurances
"Have you got any shoes that could go with the dress"
"I think so, what size shoes do you wear ma'am"
"Seven"
"Ok, I'll be right back." Then she walk out of the changing room.
Nikki help Vicky into the dress. When done the women return "Here try these on" she show Vicky half an inch flat shoes
"ok" the women crouch down and put them on.
Then she stood up "How do they feel?"
"good"
"shall we show Pete" Nikki suggested
"Why not" Nikki help Vicky to stand up.
Then the women open the door so Nikki could help Vicky walk out into the store. Pete was looking out side the store when Vicky and Nikki walk out.
"Pete"
"Yeah" he turn around and stop in shock
"wow mum you look great"
"Thanks Pete, so you like it" he step ford and held onto her hands
"do you mum"
"i do"
"Pete can you get me that hat over there" Nikki pointed
"ok" he walk over and pick up the hat Nikki wanted then return and pass it to her.
Nikki put it on Vicky head then stood back "Better"
"You think so" Nikki step forward
"Take a look for your self" Vicky turn around and look in the mirror
"This is amazing"
Vicky was wearing a butter cream round neck wide strap dress that got butter cream lace covering her chest and it was three quarters sleeve. The lace ended at her waist which the rest was plan butter cream three quarter A line dress. With the same color shoes and hat that would shade part of her face from the sun.
"You like it mum?" Pete asked
"Yes I do" she said smiling
"that great" Nikki help Vicky back to the changing room where she got change back into her normal clothes.
When done and she was back in the wheel chair. Nikki pass the items to Vicky then she open the door before pushing the wheel chair out. When Pete saw them he walk over and took over in pushing the wheel chair. They walk over to the counter where Nikki pick up the items and put them on the counter to be telly up.
When they saw how much it was, they got there cards out since they were going half in the dress, hat and shoes. Vicky was shock in how much Nikki and Pete has spent on her so far and that not including the house.
Once paid for and items in the bags. Nikki carry the bags while Pete push the wheel chair out of the shop after saying there good byes to the staff. They went to couple more shops before returning back to the house in taxi van. Nikki cook dinner while Pete spent time talking to his mum.
The next morning the three of them were having breakfast when Nikki cell phone rings, so he got it out Of her pocket to answer it
"Hello... hi Kate... sure, when... ok, how about you come and get me and we can go shopping... no I can take my smaller bag with me and we can go to the hotel after lunch... that a great idea... sure, you know the address... great see you in an hour..." she look over to Pete
"Oh don't worry, Pete will keep him self busy today... sure see you then" then she hung up
"Kate will be here in an hour, we going shopping"
"but you went shopping yesterday" Vicky said
"I know, Kate want to take me to some...women shops"
"for what?"
"Sexy night wear and underwear" she said smiling
"Nikki" she turn to him
"Yes Pete, don't worry I'll find some underwear that is lime color" she said smiling as she sip her drink
"Nikki going to be the death of me" He gave her the look knowing he not happy about it
"no I won't"
When Kate arrived, Nikki kiss Pete on the front porch before she pick up her bags and walk down to Kate wagon. She open the boot to put them in then close it before walking around and getting into the passenger side.
"Morning Kate"
"Morning" Kate drove into town while they talk and laugh.
Nikki told Kate about Pete sisters and what happen on Monday when they arrived. "sounds like you and Pete arrived on time"
"Yeah, we did cheer her up, that what she needed"
"that good"
"where mike?"
"with his parents, kids are at school"
"Ok" They talk more about the wedding that was happening the next day.
Kate took Nikki to number of different shops as well had lunch while in town.
"Nikki why green"
"It Pete favor color"
"that right, you are going to be in a lot of trouble when he see you wearing them" Nikki smile
"i know, pure torturer" Nikki said laughing
"You can be mean some times Nikki"
"I know what about you"
"what about me"
"Those sexy lace underwear set. Are you going to torturer Mike" Kate smile
"Yes I am" Nikki laugh.
They enjoy the day shopping. Then they were to the pier one hotel where Nikki got the key card then she and Kate walk up to the Harbor view suite.
"wow, nice room" Kate said
"check out the views" Nikki said as she put her bags on the bed while Kate walk to the window
"great views of the harbor bridge and the opera house" Kate said
"Yes it is and Luna park" Kate look around then turn to Nikki.
"Got every thing"
"Yep, come on I'll show you where the reception going to be" they walk out of the room and down stairs.
Nikki show Kate the room where the wedding going to be held "Who choice this hotel"
"Pete and I did after we did some research on line"
"Ok" they talk as Nikki told Kate about what Pete and her plan for the reception area. They talk for ten minutes before walking out of the room and out of the hotel.
They return back to Vicky place where Kate drop Nikki off "See you tomorrow Kate"
"ok have a good evening tonight"
"i will" then Kate drove away.
