AN: A new chapter, there are changes from the game. Can you stop it?

Pokemon is not mine and never will be.

Cecilia took a few minutes to reach Los Platos, where she practiced catching Pokemon. She had acquired two more and was looking at their dex entries when Nemona called out." Over here, Cecilia."

Nemona was in front of what looked like a Pokemon Center and Mart, in one and completely outside. There was also another machine that Cecilia didn't know but guessed was Paldean-made. There were tents and portapotties to the side; Cecilia wondered why they were there.

"This is a Paldean Pokemon Center," Nemona said.

' Different than the ones in Galar, if anywhere. ' Agravain commented.

"I'm assuming most people don't normally spend the night." Cecilia guessed as the setup wouldn't have worked otherwise.

"Oh, people do, but at the same time, people often managed to get to the next town, especially on Cyclizar." Nemona explained, "That's why the centers have accommodations available for those who arrive late at night and may not want to continue their journey. These centers mostly serve as stops along the road."

' Most centers that I have seen are located in a building. ' Cecilia then asked, "Do they receive shipments? How else could they serve traveling trainers in the region?"

"That would be correct, miss." The nurse said, listening to the girl's conversation, "I can take over champion if you want me to."

Nemona nodded and said, "That's a great idea; I was just about to suggest the same thing."

"Sure, I'll start with my station, which is the center, if you will," said the nurse, nodding. Cecilia was sure that the nurse had made a pun. "My job is to heal Pokemon, so I can heal yours right now if you want me to."

"Might as well," Cecilia said, recalling Agravain and handing over her Pokeballs.

"Thank you," said the nurse as she took the balls, placed them in the indents, and typed on the computer. "The healing process will take between five minutes to half an hour, depending on the injuries."

"What about injuries that centers like this can't heal?" Cecilia knew it was rare for injuries like that to happen. She knew of a Charizard that couldn't fly at all and couldn't use wing-based attacks.

"There are some buildings that can provide medical treatment in most towns, although they are not very common," explained the woman. "Minor injuries that occur in the field can be treated with supplies from the store on the left," she said, pointing to the man beside her.

"We take money or League points. The convergence rate is one-to-one," said the man, waving hello.

' League Points? ' Cecilia blinked, knowing that at some point, she'd get the explanation about what that was.

"Lastly, the appliance on my right is for technical machines." the nurse said, pointing to the new device. Cecilia noticed, "You may buy the disk for the move, then return it if you wait or download the video. There is a limit to the ones you can get without badges and league points."

"I'm guessing there is a way to monitor how much one person can access?" Cecilia asked, to which she got a nod.

"Naturally, but you do need the app first, before anything. "Nemona cut in. It was a miracle that she stayed silent that long.

Cecilia pulled out her phone and asked, "How many apps are there now?" She noticed that the app she was about to download was relatively new compared to the others she had previously installed. "Is there an app for everything under the sun?" she wondered aloud.

"It wouldn't surprise me if there is," Nemona grinned as she pulled out her black phone. I have a lot, so I can give you some for a few TMs. You can get them as rewards, for example, winning a gym battle." Nemona transferred 5,000 league points to Cecilia.

"Thank you for sharing your advice with me. While I appreciate your input, I'm still determining if I'll implement it." Cecilia said as she was given her Pokeballs back. Being independent, for the most part, and having a lot of pride, Cecilia often refrained from asking for help, even though she knew it wasn't a sign of weakness.

"Having a rough adventure, get to a Pokemon Center," Nemona said in a way that said it was a quote." Remember, there is a chance; it might be on a test."

Cecilia thought for a moment to turn around and return to her house, but she needed to do something other than gardening and staying in one place. "I'm going to get potions, then continue to Mesagosa," she told Nemona.

"Got it. See you at the south gate Center." After Nemona grinned, she bolted away, likely to battle or catch Pokémon.

After coming out of his Pokeball for the walk up to the city gate, Agravain said, ' She grows on you in a way after a bit .'

Cecilia shorted before starting the trek to the city. As most local Pokemon were tiny, Cecilia relied on sensing their aura to locate them, which she was still perfecting. She also trained up and caught a few more Pokemon. Once at the Center, while her Pokemon were healing, Cecilia talked with a man in a suit standing there, trying not to look bored, but felt bored out of his mind.

"Hello, Trainer, I am a representative of the Pokemon League," the man said in a salesman's voice. "We are hosting contests all over the region where you can win prizes such as League points or a selected item."

"Are the contests against other trainers or just for one person? Also, when and how does the contest start? Is it automatic, or does a trainer need to talk to the representative?" Cecilia was curious and might participate if it was interesting enough.

The man explained that the task is automatic and has no definite end. Typically, a single trainer handles the job. They ask interested trainers to demonstrate the complete task or go off to complete it. The man specifically requested to be shown a captured Pawmi.

"Pawmi, huh, I believe I got one," Cecilia said as she checked her Pokemon. She had to carry her Pokemon. Hopefully, she could keep them in a side pocket, or the school had a place to store them; otherwise, she had to release the Pokemon. Here is one electric mouse." She showed the man the Pokemon.

"Congratulations, you have completed the task," the representative said with a smile. Now you can choose some league points or the TM I have."

"Let's go with the TM," Cecilia said, recalling the tiny Pokemon. Upon opening the app, she discovered that she could scan the disk using her camera and identify it. "TM 082: Thunder Wave. Not that sure I'm going to use it."

"Oye Cecilia," Nemona called, arriving from over the hill. "I bet your Pokemon have gotten stronger, right?"

"I assume you want to know by how much?" Cecilia guessed.

Nemona pulled out a Pokeball. "Don't worry, I'm going to use new Partners; why not a two-one-two this time."

"That sounds fair. Hey, League rep, I want you to referee. If not, I know someone who can."Cecilia called over; she planned to ask Agravain to referee if nobody else wanted to.

"I mostly stay here anyway," The rep said. "Will thirty seconds work on the ground?"

"That is fine." The girls said.

"Go Quaxly," Nemona sent out her water duck.

"Go Olwin," Cecilia decided to use her grass cat, and depending on the second Pokemon Nemona chose, she might use a more recently captured Pokemon. "I'm going first, Olwin use bite. "

Olwin ran forward and bit the duck on the wing.

"Quaxly use Pound and get Olwin off you," Nemona called. Quaxly hit Olwin on the face using its other wing, forcing the grass type to let go. Both didn't want to use super-effective moves just yet.

"Alright, let's see if I stay in Paldean. Olwin Feuille Magik." Cecilia said before groaning as she did what she wanted to avoid. Thankfully, some words in both languages were similar enough to be understood.

Fifteen leaves swilled around Olwin before hitting Quaxly until it fell to the ground.

"Quaxly is unable to battle. "The referee called.

As Nemona recalled her Pokemon, she praised Cecilia, "You've improved at calling similar moves in both languages. Now go, Pawmi." Pawmi was a little rodent-like Pokemon with orange and cream-colored fur. Its limbs were longer than its back ones, causing it to fall forward once it was let out of its ball.

"So that's your new friend," Cecilia said.

"Yup, now for my ace in the hole," Nemona pulled out a Pokeball that looked unlike any ball Cecilia had ever seen. It was dark colored with a silver band around the middle, and the center wasn't a circle but a hexagon. The aura it created made Cecilia think of the Dynamax band.

' What is that ?' Cecilia wondered. She decided to observe its function before asking where to get one.

Nemona appeared to push the hexagon-shaped bottom, and light seemed to swirl in the top part, making it glow. To Cecilia's surprise, Nemona tosed the ball, sending it over her Pokemon's head. It exploded over the little Pokemon, lighting up as crystals growing from the ground covered the Pokemon. Thankfully, it seemed that the crystals weren't harming Pawmi as there was no distress feeling that Cecilia could detect. Once Pawmi emerged, it was different in a few ways. One, its skin was made out of yellowish crystal that was almost slightly orange. The next was the lightbulb that, despite being a bit bigger than the Pokemon, stayed on no matter how Pawmi tilted its head.

Cecilia was surprised as she had seen much about Pokemon before, but this was new. It resembled Dynamax, except the Pokemon remained the same size, and it might impact all Pokemon. However, whether some Pokemon had specific forms based on it was unknown. As this was a new experience, she regretted what had happened next.

"Pawmi, use Thundershock," Nemona called enthusiastically. "Terastalling is always a solid strategy as it gives power to a Pokemon's move that shares the same type when terastalised."

'Terastalling?'

Despite the immense light bulb atop its head, Pawmi stood on its hind legs, allowing the lightning to strike Olwin directly in the face.

"Olwin is unable to battle." the ref called.

' That is new and different. ' Cecilia thought, recalling Olwin. ' The power of the type increases in that state, but does that mean the type of the Pokemon changes as well, like with type effectiveness? ' Cecilia sent out her Wooper to test her theory. It was a poison and ground type, brown instead of blue, unlike the Wooper from Johto, which was water and ground. "Use mud shot, Wooper." A stream of mud hit Pawmi, causing damage, but it did not affect the crystallized state the Pokémon was in.

"Tackle," Nemona called.

"Wooper met Pawmi head-on with your tackle," Cecilia ordered. The two collided and tried to push each other away. "Now mud shot." the closeness would help with the effectiveness.

Pawmi staggered back as the crystal skin appeared to have cracks.

"Tackle as hard as you can." Cecilia chose to take the opening and keep Nemona from getting ahead. Wooper slammed into Pawmi, causing the crystal state to shatter and Pawmi to flop down.

"Pawmi is unable to battle, and the match is over." The referee said almost simultaneously as Pawmi fell, which meant the state lasted as long as a Pokemon could fight.

"You're great at adapting," Nemona said as they waited at the nearby center for their Pokemon to be healed.

Cecilia muttered, "I had to," but nodded to Nemona. Once they got their Pokemon back, the two headed to the gate.

"I can't believe you beat a terastallized Pokemon. "Nemona praised, then noted the confused faces of Cecilia and Agravain. "Wait, you don't know about terastallization and can't transform any of your Pokemon."

"I have witnessed both Mega evolution and Dynamax, but despite being a quarter Paldean, I have never heard of Terastalling, let alone used it," Cecilia explained.

'I think the ability to use it must have happened within the last decade, if not sooner.' Agravain said, 'Your father never told me about glowing Pokemon, at least that I can remember.'

"No way. Okay, I'm going to correct that." Nemona promised." You're so good at battling that I forget you don't know everything about them. Here are some revises if you need them. She handed the medicine to Cecilia, who put it in a pocket.

"It's Best to take a breather before going in; there are a lot of hills and stairs in Mesagoza," Cecilia said as she turned to face the gate. Then we can finish the walk to school."

AN: The most significant change is that Nemona Pawmi uses more than one attack. Pawmi knows more than just Thunder Shock, so why did the game have her do that?
