Until now the cat and mouse game they were playing, was pretty boring. Until now, she didn't get the usual rush. But, while she moves quietly along the wall, now she has a worthy opponent. She lost the cityguards in a few minutes, disappearing in the narrow streets of the city. The guards of the castle were a bit harder, but they were no match to her ability to become invisible. But since this man had seen her, he has been on her heels. He was different than the other guards, who are loud and wearing heavy armor. No, this man moved like her. Quiet, silent, like a thief in the night.

But it wasn't night. It was the middle of the day and even though the windows were small, the light made it pretty hard do move in the shadows. She should go deeper in the castle, were there aren't any windows, she thinks. But that is the opposite of what she wants. She want to go outside, to freedom. Where she won't be hunted by yelling people and more angry guards. To go deeper into the castle, means further from freedom. But she has to find a way to escape that man. The man who seems te know all her tricks.

She looks around her, takes in the hallway for a few seconds. Then she decides and opens a door on the left of her. Her boots make no sounds as she slips into the room. She makes sure to quietly close the door behind her, so she will know if her follower also comes into the room. It isn't a smart plan. If it comes to a fight, she most likely will loose. She has to depend on being smart. But it seems like it is her only chance. A small chance.

The room is even lighter than the hallway and she has to shield her eyes from the sun, that shines through a bigger window. When her eyes adjust, she is shocked to find that she didn't try to hide in a regular room. No. This room was big, with shelves filled with books. A large and comfortable looking chair and a desk filled with papers. Important looking papers. She cannot control her curiosity and moves a little closer to the desk. She knows how to read, a small advantage of her upbringing. She glances over her shoulder, the door is still closed. Maybe the man lost her? She moves closer to the desk and starts scanning the papers. Most of it seems not important. But then she recognizes a familiar name. She grabs the letter with shaking hands and starts to read.

She doesn't hear the man move. Little did she know that when she checked earlier, her chaser was already in the room.
