Chapter two:
Casey tries to grab Raph to stop him from attacking. He finds the other is too strong and flings him away. He quickly rolls back when Raph tries to stab him with his sais. He moves swiftly to his feet as the other glares the best he can. He sees April just past Raph moving around to dodge attacks from Leo.
April tries to run around Leo to grab him from behind. She is forced to back off after a katana slices her arm.
Casey's attention is brought back to the other turtle. He raises his hands grabbing onto Raphs wrists. He tries to push against the others attempt to swing the sais downward in an attack. He blinks for a moment and gazes into those now black eyes. "Come on Raph. It's me. Casey. Snap out of it! Remember all the good times we had." He has to leap back as Raph breaks through so his weapons try to strike. He hisses as his arms get cut. "Remember when we went out looking for bad guys to stop, Just you and me, only to end up trying to race? Which got interrupted by an attempted kidnapping." He leaps back as Raph swings again. He realizes that he isn't going to snap the other out of this.
April screams in pain gaining Casey's attention. She has been stabbed in the stomach by a katana. She slumps forward then falling as Leo pulls out his sword. She's still breathing though heavily bleeding.
Casey rushes to her picking her up. "I hope they were able to escape. Even if we don't escape." He admits just before he turns dashing away. He tries to dash for an entrance. He bursts through finding Shredder waiting. He skids to a stop and is suddenly surrounded.
Leo and Raph behind him one on each side, with Shredder in front of him.
Casey glances to April realizing that she's getting weaker and weaker. He doesn't have much time if he's going to save her. "You may have won this round. But the war is far from over." He dashes to the left away from them.
"Let them go for now." Shredder instructs to obviously Leo and Raph. "We should be getting a move on. You'll find them later when you infiltrate the hideout. For now there is other important people who need a little visit."
Casey makes sure he's well away from them before heading down into the sewers. He has to get to the lair to save April, as well as to update them on what he knows. He can't let the others end up being possibly killed if he can stop it. He bursts in hearing that Donnie was speaking.
"So we need to do something..." Donnies voice trails off as they turn to Casey. He hurries over taking April from Casey.
Mikey hurries over to Casey worriedly.
"Let us settle and heal our wounds." Splinter suggests.
"I'll get to work on trying to save her." Donnie heads off to where he has more equipment. His lab. He tends to the worst wounds there.
Splinter gestures for Casey to come to the living room. He grabs his first aid kit as Casey sits on the sofa. "Donatello has filled me in on what happened." He informs Casey as he starts cleaning the blood to check the wounds. "What happened to Leonardo and Raphael."
"I tried to see if I could break through. I couldn't. I couldn't save them from that." Casey sighs softly.
"It is alright. There is always a way." Splinter assures the other.
"We can't stay here." Casey begins only for Splinter to speak up.
"I know. I suspected that this place is no longer safe. And neither is the farm. It's likely they'll be sent to come to either location." Splinter explains as he treats Casey's wounds. "I doubt that they would have forgotten the location even with these changes."
"So where would we even go? I mean there isn't really much locations to hide in." Casey points out. "Especially if Shredder takes over and puts bounties on our head."
"There is always someplace to hide." Splinter tells the teen boy who's trying to not flinch as the eye wound is treated. "That is if you're willing to look for it. I may know of a place. The back up I had in secret in case this place was compromised."
"We had a second possible place to call home?" Mikey is surprised at this to which Splinter nods his head.
"Yes. Because I told no one that makes it an ideal place to hide. We will first have to wait on April." Even Splinter appears hopeful that she'll make it through this.
"What if they come before Donnie is done? I mean they let us go to get to others, but they will come here for our heads so to speak."
"I will distract them." Splinters words make Casey's eyes widen as he realizes what it means. "I am old and I know it. I am not what I once was anymore. You all are still young and strong. Even if you go without me I know you'll all figure things out. One way or another you'll take down Shredder and save the city. I am old though I can fight. My distraction should be able to give you all enough time to escape. Shredder will gain control of the city for now. We'll have to use this time to patch our wounds and get you all sent on your way. To the second location so you can hide. Shredder ruling the city will only be temporary. I believe in you all."
Mikeys eyes fill with tears and he lowers his head with tears. He sniffles wiping his eyes to look to Splinter, when the other manages to touch his leg with his tail. He does show he understand that Splinter is in the middle of bandaging Casey, but everyone knows he's definitely getting a hug later. He sees an assuring look on Splinters face. He has more tears ready to come out even as he tries to hold it in. He hesitates clearly not wanting to agree to this. He finally nods softly with another sniffle as a few more tears fall.
"Thank you master Splinter." Casey wants to bow his head but he stays still, so Splinter can make sure his wounds are patched up. "We won't let you down." He wants to cry however he wants to be strong for Mikey. He can tell how upset the other is after all. He needs to support those that have become family to him. He will do his best to help keep them together.
"I know you all won't." Splinter assures him.
A little later Donnie comes out of his lab seeing them sitting in the living room.
Casey is patched up and still awake.
They turn to him as he approaches. "April will need lots of rest and care but it's likely she'll make it out. As long as her body keeps fighting."
"She is strong. I am sure she won't let the injury win." Splinter then approaches Donnie. "You three will have to take her to a location I've shared with Casey and Michelangelo. You'll be safer there. It'll be a place where you all can plot how to stop Shredder."
"You're not coming with us?" Donnie clearly knew this place wouldn't be safe. He knew that they'd have to flee their home. He just expected Splinter to come. His heart sinking with worry about what Splinter is planning.
"No. I will be giving you all time to escape. I'll stay here and distract them until my last breath." Splinter explains to which Donnies heart hurts in sadness at this. "I know you all will find a way to stop him."
Donnie hugs Splinter with his head on his adopted fathers shoulder. He tries to not cry. He wants to keep Splinters hope in him to be able to find a way to stop Shredder. He believes crying will ruin that.
Splinter is a little surprised then hugs Donnie back. "It will be alright. Even in death I'll always be with you. In your hearts and minds." His voice soothing and gentle clearly knowing Donnie needs it.
"We love you." Donnie tries to keep his voice from breaking. He keeps his face away from where Splinter can see. He doesn't want to risk potentially being seen close to crying.
"And I love you all as well. No matter what ends up happening. You all were the best children I could have ever asked for. Now collect whatever you wish to bring and go. We may not have a lot of time before they come for us."
Donnie nods softly to this. He stays there for a little longer taking in Splinter. He memorizes how his adoptive father feels in a hug, his voice, and anything else he can fit in there. He takes a moment to calm himself before he backs off. He gives Splinter another soft nod trying to look brave. He turns heading off to grab what he wants to bring. He limits himself to helpful things, as lugging around too much isn't very smart. He makes sure to grab things that are important to him first. Like the picture of his family. He glances to April, who is on mattress he has in his lab for late nights, as she remains unconscious. He can't be certain that she will make it out. He can only try. He turns away to try to finish packing.
On the surface Shredder stops just outside of the government building. He glances back ensuring that he has those he wants. He turns away seeing his followers along with Raph and Leo. "Let's do this." He leads the way inside where the first area is a lobby.
A lady sitting at a desk by the elevator looks up from doing her nails.
While two security guards prepare to grab their guns if needed. They seem to rather prefer not to use it if they don't have to.
"Leave. This is your only warning." One security guard tells Shredder.
"I don't think so." Shredder growls sending Leo and Raph at the security guards.
Before either of them can grab their guns they are struck.
Leo slashes one guard knocking him back with a deep slash. He then stabs one katana into the guard's chest to ensure death.
Raph stabs one sai into the other guard's shoulder. He uses his second one to slice open said guard's throat killing him.
The woman screams in horror and terror at what she is seeing. She is trembling though moves to press a button for an alarm.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Shredder tells her making her freeze. "Get her hands up." He orders to his minions, preferring to make the turtles wait in case of more security.
Two footclan members hurry over and grab one of the woman's hand each. They raise the hands up as if in surrender.
Shredder approaches the desk of said trembling woman. "Where is the leader of this town? Your leader has a very important visitor."
"T-The top f-floor." The woman stutters out with her shaky voice full of her terror. "Juts p-please don't k-k-kill me!"
"Excellent." Shredder almost purrs at this. "One of you stay with her. Kill her if she tries anything. We have some important guests to meet up with right now." He takes the lead leaving a footclan member behind. He makes sure that Leo and Raph are both coming along with him.
They enter an elevator, other footclan members taking the same elevator, different ones, or some taking the stairs.
The elevator dings as it reaches the top floor.
A woman sitting at a desk with wooden double doors to her left looks up. She had been working on the computer. Her brown eyes confused and nervous. She ticks a strand of light brown hair behind her ear as the group approaches. "Do you have an appointment?" Her voice trembling with her nervousness.
"Move yourself away from the desk. If any alarm is started and you'll be dead." Shredder nods to Leo and Raph who shift as if ready to attack.
The woman moves away from the desk with hesitant movements. She appears afraid to make too much movement, in case he gives the kill order. Her hands raised up to be level with her chest in surrender.
Two foot clan members stand by her to make sure she doesn't try anything.
"There's going to be a new leader of this town." Shredder explains before heading to the doors. He slams them open surprising the mayor who is inside.
"Can I help you?" The man inquires as Shredder strolls forward. His eyes flickering nervously to Raph and Leo who are following Shredder.
"Yes. You can. You'll be giving the entire city to me to rule." Shredder demands stopping in front of the mayors desk. "I have won. Now it's time for me to claim my prize."
"That's not how things work mister. I can't and won't just hand you the city. Now. You can leave on your own or I'll call in security." The mayor warns Shredder who laughs.
"Go ahead. Call your security. If you wanna see them get sliced open by my two minions there." Shredder gestures to the two mind controlled turtles. "We've kept the alarm from being rung so far. Because I wanted to see your reaction to me walking in. Now that I'm here you can call for help. It just won't be of any use since they'll be dead rather fast."
The mayor hesitates as he is clearly uncertain about possibly ending lives. He doesn't seem to want to see bloodshed. Yet he also clearly wants Shredder removed from his office. Before he decides two security guards burst in.
"Sir! Don't worry we'll take care of them!" One of the security guards calls to the mayor as the two go for their guns.
However Leo and Raph rush towards them as if being given a command. Raph slams into the one who has spoken, while Leo swings his katana at the other.
The one Raph hit falls to the ground on his back. He barely has any time to recover when Raph leaps.
Raph stabs a sai right into the security's chest hitting the heart.
Leo slashes the others torso then stabs him in the stomach. He lets the security fall over before giving some stabs to the chest for good measure.
"So kind of them to volunteer to show what will happen if security is called by you." Shredder chuckles before narrowing his eyes at the mayor. "So. About the city. Like it or not it's mine now."
"Fine. Though I must warn you that not everyone is going to be happy about it."
"Let them try. I will show that I will take out those who turn their back to me so to speak. Besides. Those who obey orders will be allowed to live day. Perhaps even get a reward. While those who do not obey shall be killed as examples that it will not be tolerated."
"You're insane." The mayor stares at Shredder. "Evil never wins. Someone will take you down. You will be stopped. You will face the consequences of your actions."
"Believe me. That wont happen. You may not like it but sometimes evil does win." Shredder snaps his fingers at Raph who charges.
Raph slams his sais into the mayors chest.
