Chapter one: Prologue
Zaheer was for a lack for better words excited, his plan against the avatar was close to completion, the end of the avatar cycle was at hand and true peace was near. As the poisening effects took hold of Korra, she struggled in pain until eventually she forcefully entered the avatar state and trying to force herself out of her restraint's.
"Now destroy the avatar!", Zaheer yelled, Ming-hua immediately sending an ice shard, only for it to be destroyed by fire that Korra spew out of her mouth, Korra then began to pull on her restraints breaking off a chunk of rock that was attached to her chain and sending it towards Zaheer only for him to jump dodge out of the way, Korra then sent the rock towards Ming-hua, but unlike Zaheer she did dodge in time a was sent crashing into the rock wall. Regaining himself Ghazan bended an uprising arc of lava towards Korra. Only for it to be deflected by her Airbending and sending it back towards him to which he dodged, Korra then began to pull on her restraints once more except she easily broke out this time. Using a mix of her fire and air bending Korra jumped towards Zaheer, once on the ground Korra earthbended four pillars of earth and swinging them all towards the remaining Red Lotus members. As Korra spewed out fire from he mouth, unbeknownst to her, her father Tonraq along with Mako and bolin just arrived.
"Korra!", yelled Tonraq in effort to get his daughters attention, but it was all in vain as Korra's only focus was destory Zaheer constantly sending fireballs towards said man. When Zaheer decided to take the battle towards the surface Korra flowed with a vengeance.
"We have to help her"
"Look out!", Bolin yelled as he blocked an incoming rock with his own earth bending, looking towards the perpetrator the three came face to face with Ghazan.
"You help Korra we got this", Mako told Tonraq with a nod Tonraq left the two brothers aganist the two remaining Red Lotus members, all the while hopeing to catch up to his daughter. As soon as Tonraq left Mako was the first one to make a move throwing several fireballs towards Ming-hua only for her to dodge and jump away with Mako pursuing her. On the other hand Bolin went up against Ghazan immediately bending two medium size boulders towards his opponent, with Ghazan countering the attack by destroying one boulder and stoping the other in it's tracks and sending it back. Which Bolin also destroyed with a punch, using the dust created by the rock Ghazan tackled Bolin, making both roll before Bolin used his legs to push Ghazan away recoving quickly with a flip Ghazan sent two big rocks towards Bolin only for him to dodge one and break the other.
"What are you smiling about!'
"I was just remembering the last time we fought", Ghazan retorted as he lavabended an arc towards Bolin.
"Well a lot has changed since then", Bolin replied as he stopped Ghazan's lava and sent two lava wips in return, that Ghazan easily dodge.
"So that's how you got out of the temple not bad, let see what you got!", Ghazan said with a smirk as he sent another arc of lava. In a different part of the cave Ming-hua was dodging Mako's firebending and blocking it with her water arm wips. Being pushed into a corner she slipped and fell on a ledge rolling towards the bottom, when she got up Mako was right in front of her.
"You have no water it's over"
"Not yet", Ming-hua replied lowly as she jumped deeper into the cave, Mako folloing close behind her and being led into a different part of the cave that had water. looking around tentatively Mako made a fire dagger, before turning and coming face to face with Ming-hua who now had eight water arms some of which were holding her up in the air.
"Now it's over!", she stated rushing towards Mako the intent to kill her eyes clear, all the while Mako did his best to put distance between him and her. As he dodged her attacks Mako put himself in between two pillars of earth which were high enough to keep him away from the water. Pointing his middle and index fingers towards the water he shot lighting out of his fingers only for him miss when a stray water whip wrapped around his wrist and made his lighting hit the roof of the cavern. Neither Mako or Ming-hua had time to contemplate what had just happen because before they knew it Mako was pulled harshly by the water whip around his wrist. Mako could only widden his eyes in surprise as his face met a fist immediately Knocking him out. When the surprise of what happend wore off Ming-Hua put her self in a protective stance her water arms ready to strike at a moments notice.
When she heard walking from where the firebender disappeared from she ready her self to strike, when she got sight of the figure walking all her water whips were sent forwards, but to her surprise when her whips reached the figure the whips turned ice. So stunned to speak she only regained herself when the figure came out of the shadows and stood in front of her. The figure wore
open toed sandals and dark beige pants being held up by a sash that looked like the avatar's sash, the main differences being the colors and length with the white fur staying the same but the brown parts being black and length reaching the figures calves. On their upper body they wore an asymetrical black T-shirt, with their forearms being wrapped in beige boxing tape, and to finish it off the figure wore a single sided cloak that covered their face and left arm.
"How did you... who are you", Ming-hua asked as she reformed her water whips, normally she would kill her target then ask who they were later but this one had her on edge.
"I suppose it's only fair, it has been a while since I spoke to any of you", the figure spoke his voice giving away that he was a male. Before she could question him anymore the figure pulled down his hood showing blonde spike hair, a sharp face that had the most amazing set of cerulium eyes with three whiskers on each side as birthmarks.
"It's... it's you", Ming said her face an appearance of shock, but the tone of her voice was filled with surprise, recongnition and a motherly warmth.
"Hello Ming-hua."
WITH BOLIN AND GHAZAN
Ghazan lavabended a small arcs of lava towards Bolin only for him to either block or retaliate, jumping high into the air to avoid an attack from Bolin, Ghazan brought down a pool of lava apon Bolin. Which in turn made Bolin go on the run to put some distance between him and the lava, jumping off a small ledge Bolin turned and hardend the lava, Ghazan then landed behind him and earthbended a rock towards Bolin, but before Bolin could retaliate. A water whip grabbed him by the ankle and dragged him away swiftly and into an awaiting fist, the last thing he saw before being knocked unconscious was a narrowed cerulian blue eye.
"You know I had him Ming-hua you didn't have to-", Ghazan stopped mid-sentence as he turned and noticed the man next to Ming-hua, before a small smile recognition appeared on his face.
"If ain't the sly fox himself"
"And the tough as nails polar bear dog'", when the two stood face they clamped their hands together before they gave a quick hug.
"How long has it been, I see you grew a beared"
"Not long enough seeing how you've stayed the same", the man said playfully getting Ghazan to chuckle and Ming-hua to smile.
"Not to rain on our little reunion but what you do with the kid", Ghazan asked.
"He and the other one are just unconcious, besides... we need to talk."
A few shot moments later the trio found themselves at the top of the mountain that had the cave, the three looking down at the fight between the Avatar and Zaheer.
"So you just want us to abondone him!", Ghazan spoke angrily, Ming-hua by his side her face showing uncertantiy.
"I'm not asking you to abandone him... I'm asking that you live your life how you want without anyone's influence, to live free, it's what Zaheer would've wanted... and the truth he didn't want to accept", the man spoke honestly still not looking towards the people he considered family, sighing he continued.
"I tell you both this because I care deeply for all of you, even Zaheer and don't want you all to die so abruptly like Pi-li did", the man stated his words changing the mood to a somber one as each one of them reflected upon their friends death.
"You two always had something special, but neither of you ever acted upon it, now life is giving you a second chance to do so", Ghazan and Ming-hua didn't for a moment but the silence wouldn't last long as Ming-hua made her way next the man, the man turning and looking towards her.
"If we go, will you give Zaheer the same chance"
"Yes"
"And if he refuses to take that chance", Ming-hua asked with a straight face. The man staying silent which was enough of answer for Ming-Hua as sad smile appeared on her face.
"Let's go Ghazan", Ming-hua said quietly moving away from the man, Ghazan still hadn't moved from where he was but he heard Ming-hua's voice he came back into focues and made his way towards the Man and Ming-hua. Looking towards Ming-Hua then to the man before sighing.
"I don't like this... but maybe there's something to it... see you around", with his peace being said Ghazan got on one knee and carried Ming-Hua on his back before earth bending a small platform for both them and sliding down the mountain leaving the man alone at the top.
"Till next time you two", he said with a small smile, before turing to face where the showdown between Zaheer and the Avatar was. Narrowing his eyes the man breathed in and out smoothly before jumping in big arcs to get to Zaheer.
WITH ZAHEER AND KORRA
Korra crashed landed harshly on a large rock pillar unable to get up due to the poisening and the damage she sustained from Zaheer, who was loming over her.
"The poisen has done it's work, the Avatar cycle will be over momentarily", Zaheer said as he airbended Korra upright and on her knees before begining to airbend air out of her body slowly. But soon after the air around them began to pull them looking to his right Zaheer saw a giant air vortex heading towards them both. And if he looked closely he would be able to see that it was the airbenders that were the cause and at the center of the vortex was another airbender guiding the vortex. As the vortex began to pull them both Zaheer grabbed Korra and put her on his shoulder as he tried to make his get away, with vortex on his tail Zaheer put every bit strenght into his flight and ever so slowly started to move away. On the ground with airbenders, the Avatar's crew and Korra's father, the airbenders were doing their damned hardest to keep Zaheer from pulling away, Jinora especially since she was at the center.
When Zaheer started slowly pull away they feared the worst, then out of nowhere Zaheer was sent flying by a dark blur and the air vortex was disrupted. Korra felt like she was falling for a bit until she felt another set of arms took hold of her and in her weakend state she could only make out the persons eyes, which were as blue as the night ocean. Standing upright the man looked towards where Zaheer was sent before looking back at the large group at the bottom of the pillar, jumping off the pillar he landed on one knee a few feet from the big group of people all of which were very apprehensive. Ignoring all there apprehension he walked towards the group and stood in front of police chief of republic city and hand the avatar into her arms. She in turned layed Korra on the ground as the rest of the group began to surround her in concern.
"The poisen is metal based you should still have enought time to take it out her system, but be careful one wrong move could cause her to suffer perment damage", The man spoke gathering everyone's attention with Su-yin immediately realizing how she could help. Moving closer to the avatar Su-yin started moving the poisen slowly out Korra's body, meanwhile the man turned his back towards the group and made his way back to where Zaheer crashed.
"And where do you think you're going", asked Lin standing a few meters behind the man, without looking back the man spoke
"I'm going to put an end to red lotus and hopefully... save a friend', Looking over his shoulder and towards the group his only visible eye narrowed.
"So I suggest you all stay out of it", his peace said he formed a water whip and made it attach it self to the pillar and lauched away towards Zaheer, his on lookers having face uncertantiy yet greatfulness. Landing on a nearby rock pillar the man came face to face with a recvcovering Zaheer who was only now getting out of the small pile of rocks. Once on his feet Zaheer saw the man in front of him standing at a distance, at first he was angry before face of recognition appeared on his face.
"Gotta say I'm not surprised that you showed up, it's not like you to stay out of peoples business", the man scoffed at the meirth in Zaheer's tone of voice.
"How long has it been since we've seen each other."
"You mean how long it's been since you went bat shit insane", the man replied in a deadpan tone, a frown appearing on Zaheer's face. The two men remained quite, their faces expressions of serious, their intentions clear. Zaheer got into the his stance slowly raising his arms and seperating his feet. The other man did the same except his right arm was behind his back and held his left arm in front and near his face, fist clenched.
"Let's end this farce... Naruto Namikaze."
Zaheer swug and sweeped kicked sending two different air projectiles towards, the man now known as Naruto. Only for Naruto to front roll through both projectiles straight through the middle and sending a long shard of ice towards Zaheer before he did tornado kick sending another two water projectiles towards Zaheer. With Zaheer dodging the ice shard and deflecting one of the two projectiles but no luck with second as it hit him directly in the sternum, making him skid back a bit. Recovering quickly Zaheer jumped forward and high into the air sending another two projectiles in the form of an X, acting in immeditatly Naruto made a blade of water to cover his right fist and slashed upwards disspersing the attack through the middle. Zaheer whilst still in the air sent four large funnels of wind towards Naruto, Naruto forming water whips on both of his arms and did an outwards slash dispersing two of the funnels before bring back the water and forming it into a shield of ice that was big enough to cover him. Using the distraction Zaheer flew towards Naruto's left side where the water shield didn't cover him and then sent a strong arc of wind, hitting Naruto directly in the chest sending him through his own water shield and off the tall rock pillar. Whilst in the air Naruto corrected him immediately and formed a slide of ice with his left hand that land him safely on the ground, but was quickly tackled by a flying Zaheer who took him into the air again. Naruto struck Zaheer in the head with his elbow dissorenating Zaheer before kicking off his body, forming a water whip on his right arm Naruto made it latch onto Zaheer's body and using the momentum Naruto swug and slammed Zaheer onto a nearby rock pillar. A cloud of dust appearing after Zaheer's impact, on the other side of the canyon the avatar's group looked at the on going battle in anticapation, Tonraq and Lin looking more invested then the rest.
"Did the Red Lotus have any notable enemies", Lin directed the question towards Tonraq, Korra was being monitored by Kya and the poisen was already out of her system, so they weren't needed at the moment.
"None that were brave enough to actually face them and come out of it alive, but given what Mako and Bolin just told us, this new guy might've had a realationship with them ,enough to convince the rest of the Red Lotus not to kill them", Tonraq replied looking down in thought. But everyone's attention was caught when the rock pillar that the two men were fighting on collapsed and a figure was sent flying through the dust cloud and towards their direction. Righting himself the figure landed on all fours but still skided back a bit, some of the Avatar's group got closer to the figure only noticing his sunny blonde hair before he flicked his right arm back raising a spikey ice wall.
"Stay out of this!", the figure spoke gruphly standing upright, Zaheer then landed a few feet in front of him putting the Avatar's group on edge.
"I must say, you have grown since you ran off all those years ago, but it won't matter this fight will end like it always has, with you on the ground me as the victor"
"I wouldn't hold your breath over it"
"Good idea", sending three burst of wind, Naruto rolled right then left quickly before jumping high and foward towards Zaheer, with his fist cocked back. Using the momentum he built in the air Naruto threw his fist forward towards Zaheer, Zaheer back dodging quickly causing Naruto's fist to crash into the earth and forming a decent crater, Naruto remained undeterred as he rushed towards Zaheer.
"Let me make this interesting", dodging right to avoid another wind funnel, Naruto struck Zaheer on the left side of his face before following up his strike with three sucsesuive hits to Zaheer's stomach. As Naruto was going for another hit to Zaheer's head, Zaheer blocked it with his forearm and palm striking Naruto in the sternum whilst sending out a strong burst of wind. The counter attack sending Naruto skiding back, wanting to endulge Naruto a bit Zaheer ran towards Naruto instead of airbending, using the momentum from his run Zaheer threw out a fist towards Naruto face. Naruto already recovered from the early attck blocked the attack by grabbing Zaheer's arm, but this is what Zaheer expected as he pulled Naruto towards himself and slammed his knee into Naruto's gut and palm striking Naruto on the face directly on his nose, this intern dazing Naruto. Zaheer continued his open hand assault against Naruto, throwing three swipes with the third being a back spin that Naruto blocked. Holding his arm in place Naruto struck Zaheer twice in the side before back striking Zaheer in the face, recovering quickly Zaheer spinned kicked Naruto in the chest but Naruto had already had his arms in defence. Pushing Zaheer back causing Zaheer's to go off balance for a bit which is all that Naruto Needed as he rushed towards Zaheer. When he got closer, Naruto kicked Zaheer in the face with his left foot before bringing the same leg back and back striking Zaheer again, he then did a full spin and stuck Zaheer in the stomach with same foot then he switched to using his right leg and hit Zaheer on the side before spinning again and using his left foot to strike Zaheer where his right foot hit. Switching back to his right leg Naruto kicked Zaheer in the leg right above the calves, switching legs once more Naruto raised his left leg high and brought it down on the back of Zaheer's head. Doing one more spin Naruto brought his right leg and did a high kick straight into Zaheer's chin, sending Zaheer a few meters back.

Zaheer grit his teeth as he was getting to his knees.
"You ready to stop Zaheer there's no reason to continue this fight, you can start over... just like Ghazan and Ming-hua", Zaheer chuckled lowly as he heard Naruto's words.
"Start over?, ha you know I won't"
"Is this what Pi-li would've wanted, would she have wanted you to fall into this spiral... this spiral of insanity"
"SHUT YOUR MOUTH!", with a yell Zaheer quickly encased Naruto's head with air and began pulling out the air from his lungs. Falling to his hands and knees, Naruto struggled to remain awake as his vision faded slowly, raising his head towards Zaheer he looked into his old friends eyes only for anger and acceptance to be reflected back. Determined Naruto began to crawl slowly towards Zaheer even as his life flashed in his eyes as he got closer he got slower, now only a few inches away from Zaheer, Naruto reached up towards Zaheer and putting a hand on his chest. For a small moment it seems as though nothing happened, but soon after Zaheer feel to his knees then onto his back, the air air bubble around Naruto's head disappeared, letting him breath fully in relief. Getting to one knee Naruto looked towards Zaheer's body and slowly made his way to him, standing over his old friend's body he thought he would see a face of anger or contempt anything but a smile. A true smile that he hadn't seen on Zaheer's face in a decade, he would've shed a tear if he could but all he could offer was a sad smile in return, picking up Zaheer's body Naruto closed his eyes in saddness.
"Let's go home... Zaheer", Naruto turned and began to walk ignoring a few from the Avatar's group that surrounded their fight, he never gazed at any of them and only looked foward. Tonraq looked at the blonde man with unrestrained anger as he carried his daughters would be killer, Tonraq made to move towards the blonde man but was stopped when a hand was placed on his shoulder, looking back with enough rage to burn an iceburg he faced the dissaproving gaze of Kya. Not seen by the rest a pair of eyes looked towards the retreating blonde.
LATER
Evening had come and it lit the sky a beautiful orange had it been any other day Naruto would've gazed at the skies with wonder, but not this day, for this day took a lot from him and worse yet he didn't shed a tear. Placing down Zaheer's body in the grave he dug, he gazed at the two graves he made by hand, one for Pi-li and the other for Zaheer even in death they would be togther, Naruto smiled at the sentiment before he started to cover their graves. Once he was done he grabbed two stones one stone had the symbol of fire and the other the symbol of air, placing them on their perspective graves Naruto just stared letting the wind flow by his face, breathing out in defeat Naruto started to talk.
"I hope that where ever you two are, that the spirts guide you to peace and rest... I won't forget what you two did for me what you two meant to mean... you'll never fade, may we see each other... on the other side"
Taking out a picture Naruto looked at it with tiredness, when the wind picked up he lossend his grip on the picture letting it flow away... letting it be free, as he stood still he gazed into the orange sky.
"feeling pity for terroist", a femmine voice said behind him, making her way next to him, when she got into his perripheral vison, Naruto could see it was the cheif of republic city. Naruto hadn't turned still gazing out at the sky.
"Where you see terroist, I see my family, one in which I hand in ending", his reply caught Lin by surpries though she didn't show it.
"do you know what it's like... what it's like to kill someone you considered family", Lin didn't respond which was enough of an anwser for Naruto. Finally turning away from the sky Naruto began to walk away leaving Lin at the two graves.
"Can I have your name", Lin asked as she looked towards the blonde, not missing a single step the man replyed.
"Naruto", he replied as he dissappeared into the setting sun.
