Shiganshina (Day)

After the Wall was broken through, Hannes had one thing on his mind. The Yeagers. If they died while he was on duty, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself. Using his ODM Gear, he swiftly made his way to the Yeager household and found the building in shambles. A large piece of debris had crushed the house, and Carla's legs along with it. Eren and Mikasa were trying to free her, but to no avail.

"Hannes!" the woman said, relieved that the man came to help. "Take the kids and run!"

"Don't take me lightly, Carla." Hannes said with a smile. "I'll kill the Titan and save all three of you."

"Wait! You can't fight it!" Carla yelled. But it was no use, the man was already on his way to take down the Smiling Titan.

Hannes knew that if he left Carla to die, then he could save her kids no problem. But he wasn't going to do that. He needed to repay the debt he owed this family. That is, until he got a clear view of his would-be opponent. Pure fear radiated through his body as the Titan's gleaming teeth shone in the sunlight. Knowing he couldn't win, he made his decision. With a heavy heart, he grabbed the children and ran.

And then, as subtle as Eren screaming about the Survey Corps, a beam of green energy shot through the air from behind Hannes, followed by a fearsome roar that sounded unlike anything he'd imagine from a Titan. Out of fear and curiosity, he looked back as he ran. What he saw was an 11 foot-tall lizard with red scales on its back and bony spikes jutting out from its sides. The monster roared loudly as a blistering heat wave spread over the area, seemingly challenging the Smiling Titan.

"It's a monster!" Eren shouted, knowing for certain that whatever this thing was, it wasn't a Titan.

The red-scaled beast ran towards the Smiling Titan, grabbing its leg and pulling it away from what used to be the Yeager household. Its body glowed red as large stone spikes erupted out of the ground, impaling the Titan's leg and allowing the lizard to throw it away from the wreckage. Reeling its head back, the monster blasted the Titan with a beam of green energy, not caring that its opponent couldn't move.

'What is this thing?' Hannes asked himself. After seeing the monster battling against a Titan several times its own size, he knew he needed to get Eren and Mikasa away from the massacre. But he couldn't bring himself to run a second time. Summoning all the courage he had in his body, he ran back towards Carla and used his swords to slice apart the debris she was trapped under.

While Carla was being freed, the lizard's body temperature skyrocketed. With a primal roar, it fired an eruption of magma from its mouth that struck the Smiling Titan's torso as it stood back up. The immense heat from the attack melted through the Titan's body, spilling the contents of its stomach. A horrendous stench, only made worse by the heat, wafted over the area. The smell was so bad, in fact, that the lizard actually flinched while executing its next attack. Thankfully, the Smiling Titan was too busy eating its own entrails to care about the fight.

"Carla, we need to get the hell out of here while those two are occupied!" Hannes said, using all of his strength to carry the woman on his back. With Eren and Mikasa running at his sides, the four of them narrowly escaped the catastrophe that was befalling them.

Now that they were gone, the lizard unleashed its strongest attack. It gathered immense energy in its mouth before firing it at the Smiling Titan's face, burning half of it into oblivion. Regardless of whether or not it could feel pain, the Titan fell to the ground on its back. With the black markings on its body glowing bright blue, the lizard struck the ground with one of its claws. Blades of stone broke out of the pavement, impaling the Smiling Titan several times in every part of its body, including its neck.

While it was stuck, the lizard finished the battle by blasting molten magma at the Titan's face, completely immolating it and searing the ground below until it was charred black. When the Smiling Titan finally died, its body disintegrated and left no trace that it ever existed, save for the buildings it destroyed.

Now that the battle was over, the temperature of the area returned to normal. But the lizard wasn't satisfied. It still wanted to fight. Hearing a loud crash, it turned its head to a broken wall that an Armored Titan bulldozed through. Another heatwave spread across Shiganshina as the red-scaled behemoth ran towards its new target.

Gathering solar energy, the monster blasted the Armored Titan in the back of the head with a beam of green energy. The Titan slowly turned to face the much smaller beast, then began to run towards it. Both of them opened their mouths, with the lizard firing a plume of magma and the Titan expelling a breath of boiling hot steam. The two attacks collided, resulting in a cloud of smoke that reached over 14 feet in all directions. Temporarily blinded, the lizard was helpless as the Armored Titan kicked it in the stomach, sending it flying into the outermost wall.

Watching as the Titan resumed its attack on the human settlement, the behemoth roared in fury. Unable to continue fighting, it clawed into the ground and created a tunnel in the pavement. Vowing to destroy the Armored Titan the next time it saw it, the lizard retreated into the Earth, eagerly awaiting the day it would be reawakened.
