Opening Notes:

The speech in italics are not actually English, but rather animal language that has been translated for the reader's and writer's convenience.

No sheep pun this time. This short fic was initially a vent fic based on personal experience, before it turned into a Angst/Hurt and Comfort fic and I'm quite happy on how it came out (at the time of writing this, that is).

X Agent couldn't help but feel sorry for Sheep as he was looking away from him in bed. Earlier, Sheep had a mental breakdown because of a stressful day and X Agent had to help him calm down. Since then, Sheep hadn't bleated much and just looked away from X Agent, most likely in guilt. X Agent decided not to say anything at first, as he wanted to give his husband some space. Now though, he can't help but ask.

"Sheep... How are you feeling?" X Agent asked. Sheep said nothing. "It's okay... Today was quite a pain for you and I understand you just snapped the way you did, especially after having to bottle up your anger like that." Sheep sighed, "I wish I didn't..." "I know, Sheep..." X Agent agreed. "No," Sheep corrected, "I wish you didn't have to do all of that just to make me feel better. I just have to always put my stress onto you. I'm 27 years old for crying out loud, I can't believe I acted like a whiny teenager!" "Sheep, it's okay to feel angry and let out our frustration, even if we least expect it. I rather have you vent out your problems to me. It will make you feel better." X Agent soothed. "But does it make you feel better? Having to deal with MY silly problems?!" Sheep cried. "I admittingly get stressed out when doing that, but I hate it when I see you this upset and I want to do all I can to help you." "Why put into all of this effort just for me?" Sheep questioned, feeling more broken inside. "Because I love you," X Agent simply said, "I care about you and I think putting in the effort to help you is worth it. I'm always there when you need it, you can always talk to me whenever you want, and nothing is ever going to change that; not even something like today."

Sheep, listening closely to X Agent's soothing words, started to break into tears and cry. X Agent noticed, "Do you want a hug?" Sheep responded by moving towards X Agent and the two began to share a warm hug. "I'm... Sorry... I'm so... Sorry..." Sheep cried. "There is no need to say sorry... You didn't do anything wrong..." "I did... I just... I just had to-" Sheep tried to bleat, but was too upset to continue. "Shh... Shh... It's going to be okay, Sheep... Just let it all out..." X Agent soothed as he held Sheep securely in his strong hoofs. Sheep did so as he sobbed and sobbed for minutes, letting out all of his anger and self-hate in the process. "I hate myself! You don't deserve me; you deserve someone better!" Sheep yelled. "Sheep, I don't see you like that. It's okay to ask me for help." X Agent reassured. "BUT NOT THIS KIND!" Sheep argued. "Even this kind, Sheep..." X Agent told with confidence. Sheep was about to argue back but he ended up bursting into tears. X Agent patted Sheep on the back and held him close, trying his best to comfort him.

After a while, Sheep went quiet but was still awake. X Agent continued to hold Sheep warmly, "Are you feeling any better?" Sheep sighed, "I guess... Though, I can't believe I had another outburst... I'm so sorry for that-" "Sheep, don't say sorry. We all have outbursts like that and all we can do is try and calm down, and vent out our frustration. It was good of you to talk to me about your problems, and I'm proud of you for that." Sheep didn't respond right away as he was thinking on what to say, "Well... I guess you're right... Bottling up how I'm feeling can't possibly be good for me..." "It's not good for anyone, Sheep. It's never good." Sheep sighed once more before slowly nodding, "Thank you... I really needed that." "No need to thank me, I'm always here if you need anything." X Agent smiled. Sheep, for the first time today, gave a little smile. "I love you, X Agent..." "I love you too, Sheep..." X Agent comforted.

Soon, the two sheep began to cuddle and hold each other like tied up yarn, feeling so lucky to be together, before they peacefully went back to sleep for a hopefully better day...
