A/N: This is a request for Miriam on AO3! They asked for a Lorzanna highschool AU. I do take requests sometimes but I can't guarantee I'll do them due to motivation lol. Anyway enjoy! Bc the last chapter was so… uhh, serious, ig? I tried to make this one a lot more silly lolololol
Summary: (from Miriam) If that okay, can I please get Lorzanna Highschool Au. Lorenna has secret crush on Suzanna who is from fencing club, but has trouble to talk to her. Luckily, Lance decides to help her.
Lorena sighed, dreamily. She eyed Suzanna Winchester, the leader of the school's prestigious fencing club. She stood by the lockers, flicking her hair. She was so cool and badass, her intricate hair, her sword, her sharp blue eyes-
"Starin' again?"
She jumped. Her best friend, Lance, playfully nudged her shoulder.
"W-what do you mean?" she laughed, sweatbeading.
"C'mon, Lorena, you're always lookin' at her," Lance replied, "I think you got a-"
"NOPE NOPE," Lorena shook her head.
Lance just kept staring at her. Her eyes welled up.
"Oh, gosh, Lance, what do I do?!" she whimpered, clinging onto her friend's arm. "How do I tell her how I feel? I can't even talk to her without…!"
She trailed off, leaning against the wall. Lance held out a hand, stabilising her.
He tilted his head. "I could set you up on a few dates. Then you'll get to know her."
"YOU COULD?!" Lorena gasped.
"Well, sure," he flashed a grin. "Suzie's a friend of mine. I'll just say you wanna learn fencing and-"
"YOU'RE THE BEST!" Lorena gasped, throwing her arms around Lance. Despite being much shorter than him, she was able to lift him off the ground.
"No worries," he laughed, awkwardly, his ribs being crushed.
"I'M GOING ON A DATE!" Lorena shouted, running down the school hallways. Lance just sighed, laughing good-naturedly and following after her.
It was the day. Lorena was shaking with nervousness and excitement. She was going on a date with her crush. Just the two of them. This was happening, this was really happening-
She was inside the school's gymnasium. A certain part was barred off for fencing. White clothing was on the bench, alongside a selection of swords.
Suzanna was standing there, her arms crossed. She eyed Lorena as she approached.
"Are you Lorena?" she asked.
"YES." Lorena squeaked. "I AM SO NORMAL RIGHT NOW."
Suzanna gave her an odd look. She'd seen this girl before - she'd come up to her, said something weird, then ran away giggling. According to Lance, she was suddenly 'very passionate' about fencing and needed a good teacher. Suzanna had to wonder if there was some sort of ulterior motive…
(Most of the time, she'd consider herself 'too good' to teach any old country bumpkin her style of fencing, but, well, she supposed she owed Lance a favour, and she couldn't pass up the opportunity to flex all her fencing skills on a complete utter newbie…)
"As you are a complete beginner, we'll need to start from the basics," Suzanna told her.
"AWOOGA!" Lorena replied. "I mean. Uh. Yes. Sounds good."
Suzanna curled her lip. This girl was certainly an eccentric one.
"First thing's first, your uniform," Suzanna led her over to the white clothing.
Before long, Lorena had gotten changed into her fencing gear. Suzanna picked up one of the swords. Lorena was shaking with excitement.
"Quit shaking like that," Suzanna snapped. "You won't be able to hold the sword."
"Sorry," Lorena breathed in. "I'm just- so excited!"
Suzanna made a face. Nobody had been this excited in her presence since… well, she was pretty sure nobody had ever been excited in her presence. Lance was possibly the only exception, but that guy got on well with most people, really.
"Stand still," Suzanna snapped, before amending with, "please."
Admittedly, she wasn't that experienced as a teacher. Although she was the leader of the club and her skills were highly respected, the members were not so fond of her personality. They never came up and asked for any tips, so all her advice was given unwarranted.
Lorena was grinning brightly, though - she was as chipper as the sun during summer, and just as fiery. The only person Suzanna had met like her was Lance - and even then, her wild energy was far more extreme than his.
"Hold your sword, like this," Suzanna demonstrated, holding out her sword.
Lorena replicated her surprisingly well for a beginner. She continued to - almost - impress her once they began their skill sets.
"Not bad," Suzanna huffed.
Lorena's eyes shimmered. Suzanna had complimented her! She wished she knew how to respond, but just giggled to herself.
"Show me more!" she cheered. "Give me everything you've got, Suzie!"
Suzie? Only Lance had the balls to call her such a name.
"You're asking for trouble, calling me that," Suzanna snapped. "I am your teacher. Call me Miss Winchester."
"Miss Winchester," Lorena repeated, dreamily.
"Now, watch this," Suzanna told her.
Lorena copied her movements, but also added in her own flair, moving backwards, forwards, all over the place, like a fairy.
"What is with these bizarre techniques?!" Suzanna cried out.
"Wheee!" Lorena shouted.
Suzanna panted, bracing against the wall. She and Lorena eyed each other.
"You…" she said. "... are the most bizarre student I've ever seen."
"You really mean it?!" Lorena gasped, eyes wide.
I can't believe she took that as a compliment…
"Enough for today," Suzanna groaned. "We continue next week."
"So, how'd it go?" Lance asked.
"It was so much fun!" Lorena told him. "She seemed pretty tired, though. Do you think there's a way I can help her?"
Lance laughed, putting an arm around her.
"She's pretty cold, but she'll warm up to ya," he assured her. "Maybe try askin' her out for lunch or something, after your lesson's done."
Lorena furrowed her brow. A lightbulb exploded above her head.
"I GOT IT!" she grinned. "Thanks, Lance!"
She gave him another big hug before racing off. Lance sighed. Whatever Lorena was planning, he wondered how Suzanna would react…
During their next lesson, Lorena was faster than before, almost bouncing off the walls. Suzanna could barely keep track of her.
"ENOUGH!" she snapped.
Lorena finally stopped moving.
"You are driving me insane," Suzanna massaged her brows. "Ok. Listen up, you little wrench. You will do as I instruct, instead of… whatever the Hell you're doing."
"If I do, will you…" Lorena breathed in. "... go get lunch with me?"
Suzanna just stared at her. She blinked.
"I beg your pardon?" she asked.
"If I listen to you, will you go out with me?" Lorena asked. She gasped, covering her mouth.
"..." Suzanna said.
"..." Lorena replied.
"... fine." Suzanna replied.
"Wait, r-really?" Lorena gasped.
"I have a condition!" Suzanna snapped. "If you can go five rounds without losing focus… then I will consider getting lunch with you."
"YOU WILL?!" Lorena gasped.
"I'm only considering it!" Suzanna huffed, her cheeks going red. "It does NOT mean we are 'dating' or any of that nonsense! You're just lucky that lunchtime is on my schedule today!"
"Then let's do it!" Lorena cheered.
She narrowed her eyes, her expression serious. Suzanna wasn't sure about the energy she was suddenly giving off. It was… kind of scary, honestly. She swallowed it, focusing on education.
Lorena replicated Suzanna's movements to a T, breathing slowly. Suzanna watched her, cautiously. It seemed the girl was tempted to trail off into her madness, but she kept her cool, following the advice of her teacher. They parried for five rounds, using actual proper fencing techniques.
"I DID IT!" Lorena clapped, back to her usual self.
"A fluke," Suzanna huffed, "really. I don't owe you a thing."
"But Suzie," Lorena whined, "you said you would!"
"I said I'd consi-" Suzanna trailed off. Lorena was holding out her sword.
"Then I'll do another five rounds," she said. "No, screw that, ten! Twenty! As many as you want!"
"That's crazy talk," Suzanna burst out laughing. "You're that determined to have lunch with me?!"
Lorena nodded. She wasn't so good with words, but she'd take up any combat challenge!
"Five more, then," Suzanna decided, "you will get a slightly higher chance of lunch."
"CONSIDER IT DONE!" Lorena shouted.
Safe to say, Suzanna finally went out for lunch with her. And to her disbelief, she actually had an okay time.
