Buddy brought an arm up to shield his face as the energy orb exploded into hundreds of ladybugs. Even if the ladybugs weren't harmful he didn't want any of them to get into his eyes.
The ladybug wave, or Miraculous Cure he supposed, had force, but at the same time it didn't. If he had to describe it, it was like a stiff breeze, you could feel it, but it couldn't push you around.
He still took a little satisfaction from hearing Susie squawk in surprise.
After a few minutes, the wave ceased. He then lowered his arm to see what changed.
First he saw the two newcomers, who were looking pretty rattled. "Okay," the one-armed Boris said in a gruff voice. "What the hell was that?"
The unnamed angel was staring at him. "Tom..." she said, hesitantly.
"What?" Tom replied, before blinking and raising a hand to his throat. "My voice..."
"Your voice is back!"
"My voice is back!" Tom cried happily before picking up the angel and swinging her around. "It's back!"
"Daawww..."
Buddy looked behind him. Alice was looking at the celebrating couple while Susie got them off the ground. The two of them had split further, now only sharing a leg. To further contrast each other, Susie was now wearing a tan blouse and skirt while Alice was still in her black dress.
He looked around again. He still couldn't see B-
A loud thud drew his attention to the side. Chat Noir had landed there, a bundle in his arms.
It was Marinette, wearing her jacket backwards for some reason. The girl was unnaturally still, making him wonder if she was dead.
Chat looked down at the bundle in his arms. "My Lady?" he asked.
The girl let out a gasp.
-MtoLaCNBatIM-
Marinette gasped, drawing in a breath. She breathed heavily, as recent memories played over in her mind. The laboratory, the knife in her chest, something vile wrapping it's appendages around her soul-
"Marinette!"
A calm presence, holding her tight, a voice saying it wasn't her time and...
She looked up. "Chat," she said. "You came."
Her partner smiled. "You and I against the world, remember?" he asked. "I could never leave you-oHH!"
She pulled him close and kissed him.
After letting go, Chat looked a little dazed, but thankfully didn't drop her. "Waaa..."
"You came to rescue me," she said. "My knight in shining leather. I love you."
Chat grinned goofily. "I love you too, my Princess."
They leaned in for another kiss-
SHR-HONK!
-when Marinette realized that they weren't alone. Looking around, she saw Buddy blubbering into a spotted handkerchief while a man standing next to him was looking away whistling.
There was also a woman who was pretending that she wasn't listening while the cartoon Alice Angel attached to her leg was watching them with literal hearts in her eyes. "Oh, don't mind us," she said. "Just keep being adorable."
There was also another wolf and angel, but they seemed lost in their own little world.
Chat set Marinette on her own two feet. "So, where do we go from here?" he asked.
"The answer is the same; wait until we're back in Paris. But remember that I love you."
"And I love you too."
"My kitty..."
"My Lady..."
"Oh, this is just adorable."
Everyone turned to the voice. The taller angel grew paler. "Impossible," she breathed.
The Ink Demon gave a chuckle. "Well, how does that quote go now?" he asked. "Six impossible things before breakfast?"
He had gained a new look since the last time Marinette had seen him. He had regained his missing arm, and his mouth was closed even while speaking, with a jagged set of teeth. His gloves looked metallic and he seemed to be wearing metal shoes. He was also wearing a tattered tarp like a cloak.
Chat also saw the comparison, because he said, "So what's with the new look? Cosplaying as Megatron?"
"Mega-who?" the Ink Demon asked before shaking himself. "So I see that you survived. Although I shouldn't be surprised that Wilson could dispose of the bug."
"You can't be real," the taller angel said. "Audrey freed-"
"Freed me from my role. Freed me from my weakness!" the Ink Demon roared, shaking his arm. "I am now complete! I am more than I ever was! I am the Ink Demon! I am the Ink-"
"CATACLYSM!"
Caught up in his monologue, the Ink Demon was unable to dodge Chat Noir catching him with his charged hand.
"And you talk too much," Chat said, smirking.
However, the ink covering the affected limb just melted away, leaving bare metal. The exposed limb shot out, catching Chat by the neck. "And you put too much faith in your abilities," he said causally before tossing Chat into the angel with the sword who had stated charging toward him.
"Fortunately for you," he said, dusting off his cloak, "I have urgent business and lose ends to take care off. Enjoy this reprieve while you can." With a flare of his cloak, he walked into the wall and vanished.
The group stood there in silence before the woman attached to the smaller angel spoke up. "Who's in favor of getting out of here before that thing shows back up?"
There was a flash as Adrien forcibly detransformed, sending Plagg to flop bonelessly into Adrien's hands. "Chheeesssseeeee..." he whined.
"Not now, Plagg," Adrien said.
"I dunno, I could go for a bite myself," Buddy said.
Marinette blinked. "Since when could Buddy talk?" she asked.
"Since always!" the wolf replied. "Oh, and I'm not Buddy, I'm Boris."
"Yeah, I'm Buddy," the man said, waving a hand. "Nice to finally meet you."
"Okay..." Marinette turned to the conjoined women. "Are you two Alice, then?"
"She is Alice," the woman said, patting the shorter toon on the head. "And I'm just Susie again." She gave a small smile. "And I have never felt better about that."
"Well, my name is Allison and this is Tom," the angel with the sword said.
Susie blinked. "Allison Pendle?" she asked.
"I go by Allison Conner these days, but yes."
Buddy blinked and looked at the one-armed wolf. "Thomas Conner?" he asked.
"Yep, that's me," Tom replied.
"Wow...you've changed."
"I'd say the same, except you look exactly like you did forty years ago."
"I'm sorry, forty years?!" Susie cried.
"We should get going," Marinette said reaching to her side. "Just let me feed Tikki and..." She paused when her hand hit air. "Uh, where's my purse?"
Adrien groaned. "It must still be at the elevator crash," he said. "I don't think anybody picked it up."
"Just great." She turned to the new arrivals. "I don't suppose either of you have any food?"
"I got some chocolate," Allison answered. "Will that work?"
"That'll do," Tikki said, sleepily peeking her head out from the inside of Marinette's jacket.
"So where do we go from here?" Marinette asked after giving her kwami the offered bar.
"We should go meet up with Audrey and the others," Allison said. "We ran ahead because Porter could only take two."
"Who's Porter?" Adrien asked.
"Heidi's brother," Tom answered. "And he has a couple screws loose."
"Tom!" Allison admonished.
"Am I wrong? He ran off as soon as we got here, spouting some kind of excuse about plot holes and how we'll see him next time."
A rumble ran through the studio just then.
"We better get moving," Marinette said. "Before something else shows up."
