Chapter 4: Meeting of the Clans:
Rouge's POV:
My Mom was disappointed in me. "Rouge, your obsession with boys has gotten in the way for far too long," says Mom, "not only are you too young to be thinking about boys, but also, we are supposed to be professionals! A true thief cannot get distracted by such things!"
"I know, Mom," I said, "I just can't help it. I think about cute boys."
"We are having a meeting with the Shinobi Clan. Maybe this will get your mind off things."
. . .
We were then meeting with the Shinobi Clan. They were all chameleons, but I looked at this one chameleon and he was cute.
"Hello Bride of Constant Vigil," says Mom.
"Hello Bride of Rich Nights," says the other one.
"Is there a problem," asks Mom.
"We believe the other clans might be plotting against us," says the other one.
"And what would you suggest," asks Mom.
"The best way to work together against the lynxes and the spiders is to unite our clans and to do that, we must betrothed your daughter and my son!"
I looked at the cute one. He looked away.
"I was just talking to my daughter about her interest in boys," says Mom, "and I'm afraid I don't really trust you lizards."
"And you think I would want to promise my son to a clan of thieves, but we do not know what the Raiju Clan or the Gossamer Clan are up to!"
"I'm sorry, but my answer is no," says Mom.
"Fine, then there is another option. We may have to join forces with the Raiju Clan and the Gossamer Clan!" They then left. I wanted to get another look at the cute one, but he was long gone.
"Let's go, Rouge!" My Mom started walking.
"Another time, Handsome," I said.
Espio's POV:
"The nerve of that bat," says Mother.
"I didn't want to go through with it anyway," I said.
"Espio, it is a matter of honor," says Mother.
"I understand, Mother," I said, "the Shinobi Clan is nothing without honor!"
We then kept walking.
