Chapter 5: Echidnas:
Knuckles' POV:
My name is Knuckles. I was gathered with the other echidnas.
"Behold the Master Emerald," says my Father, Locke, "many years ago, the owls took it from us, because it was corrupting our ancestors, but then one owl returned it and since then, we have been fighting back against any corruption! I am the guardian of the Master Emerald and one day, my son, it will be your responsibility!"
"I will make you proud, Father," I said.
Then the Dark Legion came.
"Locke, Lara-Le, it's so good to see you."
"What do you want, Luger," asks my Father.
"What do you think? We want the Master Emerald! And we plan to take it!"
They then try to take it by force. My parents fought against them. I then saw Luger was getting closer to it, so I jumped on him and tackled him to the ground and started beating his face.
"Knuckles that's enough," says my Father. I then stopped. The Dark Legion then left. "One day, the responsibility will be yours, but we must do something about that temper!"
"I know, Father," I said.

I was looking at the Master Emerald. Will I ever be worthy?
