Authur's Note: Things are about to get crazy now. But through it all Happy and his wife get to have a bit of time to be together.

Chapter 5

The next morning was actually rather peaceful for the couple. They didn't have any phone calls to wake them. They got to wake up on their own. So with the sun peeking through the window into their room. Sophia was draped over her husbands chest. His rough hands rubbing her back slowly. An arm under his head while he let his wife wake up.

She sifted under his hand and sighed blissfully. Last night he worked her over good and left her well satisfied. "How'd you sleep Soph?" His voice was low and soft reserved for moments like this. His time with his wife was one of the things he treasured. This life he lived was dangerous and bloody. Sometimes a brother dies and sometimes they end up in prison.

Through it all Sophia has stuck by him and never turned her back on him. He's done time often enough but she was always there to welcome him home. "I slept well Hap. I always do when I am with you. It's silent this morning which means the danger is taking a break." She smiled as his hand didn't stop what it was doing.

"So what is the plan for today Mr. Lowman?" She cheekily asked as she fluttered her lashes at him. "If I have my way Mrs. Lowman then its you who is todays agenda." He reached down and cupped her ass but kept the touch pretty tame. They didn't often get a morning like this so he takes advantage of it when it pops up.

"Hap do you think the club will allow me to give them the money you need?" She had a hefty bank account from being an author. But she didn't use the money except to pay bills, lawyers and groceries. So she was sitting pretty with money and all he had to do is say the word. "I don't know angel but it doesn't hurt to ask."

He sat up in bed and grabbed his cigarettes as they talked. "My thinking little girl is that Clay won't accept your money. The boys will accept your help but they will do as Clay says. He knew you were healing and still made the choice to have you do more recon on Kohn." He took a drag and leaned back against the headboard. The cuffs and rope were still there but he ignored them.

"I never wanted to hit him more than I did in that moment. I am starting to see what you see. There is a glint in his eyes and it makes me wonder what else he will do behind our backs." Sophia held the sheet to her chest and moved to lay between his legs. Leaning back against his chest as she listened to him talk. "Babe no matter what he does he can't scare me away from you. Because we both know he thinks I make you soft. Doesn't like his enforcer turning soft."

He scoffed as he snuffed out the butt of his cigarette. "Babe I may be soft when it comes to you. But this relationship has only made me all the colder. I have something to protect and kill for aside from my brothers." He turned her around and pulled her to straddle him instead. "I know Hap. Me and you have something that works. Our love is strong and unwavering. Almost 10 years together and I still feel like I fell in love with you all over again."

They shared a kiss before she finally got off her husband. "You going to join me in the shower killer?" She winked at her husband and rushed into the bathroom. Where he followed soon after and pinned her against the shower wall. "You are playing with fire little girl." He growled as he kissed her roughly knowing she loved it as much as he did.

After a hot shower Sophia put her robe on and decided to cook them a large breakfast. Eggs and bacon the whole nine yards. The coffee pot going so they could have coffee with their breakfast. So far they were doing good and no one was bothering them. Which only made Sophia a bit weary on why it was so silent. As she cooked she thought about what needed to be done this week.

"Breakfast is almost done honey!" She yelled to him as she cooked. "I'm here angel just let me set the table for us." He set the table and helped her carry the food to the table. "You feel it too don't you Soph?" He asked her as he poured them both a cup of coffee. "Yeah I do and I don't like it babe. We rarely get moments like this. I treasure them but with everything going on right now. It just feels like shit is about to hit the fan."

She smiled at her husband as she filled her plate with what she wanted. "So tell me husband dearest. Do you want to go for a ride?" She loved it when they could take a ride on his bike. "We can do that baby let's finish breakfast first." She dug into their food and sipped her coffee. She really loved those peaceful days with her beloved killer.

Sophia enjoyed a quiet breakfast with the love of her life. Everything else could be ignored because the morning was for them. When they were done eating he helped her cleanup. Then they both got dressed for the day.

They were nestled in a nice glade with a beautiful lake. Sophia was laying on a blanket that was laid out on the ground. Her husband sat on his bike watching over her. He looked upon her with a fond smile on his face. His wife had fallen asleep while they were talking about future plans. He liked the idea of expanding their home to eventually house his ailing mother.

Everyday he thanked god for his wife. She really understood him and was always the brightest part of his days. He was surprised by the fact he had stayed with her for so long. Sophia was just one woman he could never picture being without. He found himself growing stronger with her there by his side. She didn't care that he was a killer or that he lived a dangerous life. Didn't care he came home with blood on his clothes or on his hands.

He took a drag off his cigarette as he breathed in the fresh air. Days like this gave him a chance to calm his mind and let his wife take care of him. She does that everyday but days like this its like she could read his mind. She was his saving grace and the one constant in his life he could never let go.

His cell ringing broke the peaceful air and woke his napping wife. Which he wasn't at all happy with. He answered his phone as he kept his eyes on his wife. "Yeah?" He held out his hand for her as she got up. Stepping between his legs as her hands rested on his shoulders. "We have a need for the killer here in Reno."

Happy frowned as he rubbed his wife's hip. "Alright let me drop my wife off and i'll hit the road. Be there in a day or so." He snapped his phone shut and nudged his wife. "Get the blanket baby I have a job in Reno. Should be back in a few days." Sophia pecked his lips and then went over to gather up the blanket. Returning to his side and home they went.

Happy had been gone for nearly a week now. And Sophia was a bit worried about her husband. She knew he could handle himself but she still worried anyways. Things here in charming had kicked up a notch once more. Donna had been fighting with Opie in front of the others. The club doing its best to scrape up the cash for the irish. None of them would take the money she offered them. So she let it be while they handled things their way.

As she paced her living room waiting for a call from her husband. She heard the rumble of a bike and tensed. She knew it wasn't her husband because he was still in Reno. She looked through the peephole and sighed. It was Jax and he didn't look all too happy. "Need something?" She asked as she opened the door for him. "You good with medical shit? Got a bit of a situation at the club. Called your old man already and he is on his way."

Sophia narrowed her eyes at Jax silently demanding an explanation. "Clay went to do the pay off for the irish and got shot at. He is fine but our new handler was shot in the ass. We need help patching him up and I came to you. I don't want to bring Tara into this. Not when I know she'll want more from me." He looked sincere and she did trust him. "Alright not sure how much help I'll be but I have a bit of knowledge from patching up Happy."

She rushed into the bathroom and pulled out her large first aide kit she kept for emergencies. Then grabbed her keys and followed him out. Tossing her things into the car she locked the door and followed Jax to the clubhouse. When she walked in she could hear the scream of a man in pain. Not giving Clay the time of day she rushed in and set her bag down. "Alright chibby lets get him patched up. Juice you can go and for the love of god chibs put the pliers down!"

The boys did as they were told and she opened her kit. She had things for almost every scenario. Giving the man morphine for the pain and a numbing agent so he couldn't feel anything happening. "Chibs I need you to hand me things I ask for." He nodded as he let her step up beside him. Then the two of them worked on the Irishman. "What's his name?" She asked as they worked. "Cameron Hayes lass. He's our new handler."

In the lul of silence she heard a bike pull up. A few minutes later she heard her husband walk in. But she didn't stop what she was doing. Carefully they had both bullets removed. And she was stitching Cameron up. "You'll need to get him some real medicine for his injury. But as long as the dressing is changed daily he should be fine." Covered in blood she left for her husband's clubhouse dorm. Happy followed her in silence before joining her in the shower.

"You did good babe. And because of you that man will live to see another day." He helped her clean up then watched her get dressed. She had a stash of clothes here in case they stayed overnight. "I missed you little girl." He pulled her into his arms and tightened his embrace when he felt her cling to his cut. They were right things had definitely heated up and chaos was ruling charming.

"I don't care what the club does in retaliation for this. I am just glad you're home and safe. A few days turned into nearly a week. I just couldn't help but worry about you baby." She mumbled into his chest as she took comfort from her husband. "I know baby but I am back and soon everything will blow over." They both didn't believe it but it was the thought that counts. He was home now and with his wife. His brothers can wait for another few minutes. His old lady needed him and he wasn't going to abandon her.

After Cameron was loaded up in the stolen ambulance and taken to the cabin. Gemma and Sophia cleaned up the room that the boys hold church in. Neither of them saying a word while Happy watched them. He never left his old lady alone with the clubs matriarch. Gemma was a bitch and a manipulative one at that. He may respect her like all the guys do. But that doesn't mean he isn't blind to who and what she is.

After it was cleaned up Sophia gave her husband a kiss before letting the boys have their room back. He watched her leave and head outside. Which meant he would find her somewhere on the lot. Probably on his bike or near it. "Church!" Clay called as the boys filed in one by one. Happy being the last before the doors were shut. Taking his seat he waited for Clay to begin.

"I got a call from Unser it seems I wasn't the only one that was shot at. Mayans hit me and Darby. Only they missed me but got him good. He'll be in the hospital for awhile so the Nords will be on a leash while their leader heals. Unser wants me to come in for questioning on this whole thing. Chibs got anything?" Happy turned his attention on Chibs. Whatever happened while he was gone must have kept his wife very frustrated.

"Aye seems the port commissioner needs to be dealt with. Brennon Heffner would be his name. Needs to happen before the week is out." Chibs briefly looked at Happy knowing he'll want to talk soon. Things were starting to be made clear to him. He had noticed the distance between Happy and Clay. The way he didn't leave Sophia alone with Clay or Gemma.

"Scope it out Juice, run recon then bring it to the table. Because of this hit I called in a few of the nomads for extra bodies. Until all this is smoothed over we are on lockdown. That means your old lady doesn't leave this lot until it's over Happy." This time the attention was on Happy. "You got it prez." He didn't dare say differently but as he caught Chib's eye he knew his shift in attitude was noticed. "For now everyone go back to work!" Clay slammed the gavel down and Church was ended.

Happy got up and went outside to find his wife straddling his bike. The only person he would allow on his bike without permission was her. Chibs had followed his brother out and stood between their bikes. Watching Happy greet his wife before hopping atop the railing. "Lass want to tell me why your old man has been keeping guard while you're around Clay or Gemma." He didn't ask but it was a concern filled demand.

Sophia smiled at Chibs as Happy moved to leaned against the railing beside. "You know me Philip. My husband trusts my judgement and its never led me wrong. Gemma and Clay need to be watched or things could get messy. How anyone didn't notice their personalities before now I'll never know. I don't trust them one bit." She got up and wrapped her arms around her mans waist.

"Clay has this glint in his eyes Chibs. I don't like how he looks at Sophia. Thinks she has turned me soft." Happy said to his brother as he held his wife close. Bobby and Chibs were the only one's he could go to for things like this. "Aye I noticed it too brother. Gem has this air about her that makes me think she is egging our president on. Those two may hold my respect. But your old lady has never been wrong in her instincts."

He clapped his brother on the shoulder as they watched the mechanics for a moment. "If Juice was given proper guidance and something other than the club to focus on. Then he would be able to step up and actually be a man. He's good at his job and loyal but he is also easy to manipulate. He's weak when put under pressure as you have probably witnessed on a number of occasions. The guys pick on him when you're not around to support him. Clay is already trying to get his hooks in him."

She made a point to tell Chibs how the porta rican was doing when he wasn't around. "I'll think of something. Juicy boy will get what he needs. Just have to figure out the hows and shit. Thank you sweetheart for coming into our lives." He hopped down and pressed a kiss to her temple. None of the boys made romantic advances on Sophia. She was the sister they never had and the wife of the tacoma killer. She would put anyone in their place for stepping up on her and so would her man.

As chibs went to the garage to work Happy led his wife back inside the clubhouse and to their dorm. There he shut and locked the door before helping her change. He needed a nap and so did she. Since they were on lockdown she could catch up some sleep. She was always restless while he was gone on jobs. "Love you little girl." He rasped out as he got into bed. "Love you too killer." She mumbled as she nestled into his arms. Sleep claiming her not too long afterwards as she allowed herself to relax in his arms.
