As Ferretstar reached the camp entrance a strong impulse was gnawing at the back of her mind. Right now her first priority was to visit Silvercloud and Mistkit.
She couldn't help it, even being apart for a day made her miss being with her. The cream warrior makes her way to the nursery with haste. Besides, Gingerleaf had just given them a prophecy about their kitten. She would have to find time to talk about that eventually.
Before Ferretstar could say a word, a gray and white kitten trots over to meet her.
"Its Ferretstar!" Dovekit chirps.
"Ferretstar." Wrenkit echos.
"Oh- hi." Ferretstar smiles to Puddleclaw's kits.
She wondered about them sometimes, or really, more about what Molepaw thought of them. What did she think of Mistkit? How did she feel about having so many half-siblings all at once? Did Molepaw feel like Ferretstar and Puddleclaw had moved on too fast? She knew she and Puddleclaw would have never worked out, but she worried Molepaw might feel she didn't care for her now that both her parents had kits with new mates. Molepaw never showed any signs of being upset, but still, it was a conversation she felt like she needed to have eventually. Maybe even with Dovekit and Wrenkit too.
She didn't want any of them to think she disliked them just because she wasn't on the best terms with their father.
Ferretstar clears her thoughts as Birchtail nods to her in greeting.
"Are we being made warriors?" Wrenkit asks.
Silvercloud opens one eye. "Not yet, it's too early." She murmurs with an amused purr. "And so are you." The tabby says, flicking gaze to Ferretstar.
Ferretstar grins and raised her tail cheerfully. "It would be cruel of me to leave you for so long."
"You just got caught by Barkpelt." Silvercloud chuckles.
"Caught doing what?" Dovekit asks, round eyed.
"Nothing bad," Ferretstar chuckles, "We're training to sneak around more quietly, but Barkpelt is just too good at finding."
"Even warriors play hide and seek sometimes." Birchtail giggles.
"Really?" Dovekit mews, jumping in front of Ferretstar excitedly, "Will you play with us? Wrenkit is a really good hider!"
"Oh, is she?"
"Well, maybe not good enough to hide from you, Ferretstar." Wrenkit whispers a a ducks behind her sister.
"Why don't we find out? I'll play too." Silvercloud smirks.
Ferretstar raises a brow, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I haven't had a chance to get up and stretch my legs in ages," Silvercloud sighs dramatically, "If you don't mind watching Mistkit while we're gone, that is." The tabby adds, turning her head to Birchtail.
"I wouldn't mind at all." He mews, curling up by the sleeping Mistkit. "You ladies have fun."
Ferretstar purrs, excited to play with her mate and the kits. She could teach them where to hide in case of an emergency too. But before she did, Ferretstar thought of the prophecy again. Gingerleaf seemed sure it was about Mistkit, but perhaps it was about a different kit. Maybe she should mention it to Birchtail too. She had to tell someone eventually...
Ferretstar decided to...
