Staring back at this large, powerful maximal as he glared back at her, Saphira had absolutely no idea of what was going to happen. Without Optimus present, she was vulnerable, and she had zero plan of trying to run. Saphira trembled as she knew that answering the maximal's question about why she was looking for the key might not be good at the moment. Not without Optimus present, as she did not know how this maximal would react. Especially as it seemed like that he was starting to lose patience with her, since Saphira was not responding to him.
He slammed his fists into the water again, making the girl yelp and crawl back a little more. "I will not ask again!" She swallowed nervously, staring back at him as she gazed into his yellow optics. "Who are you? And why are you hunting for the key?" She opened her mouth and closed it again multiple times out of nervousness. "Speak, human!"
"Uh…I…" Saphira began to respond in a small, shaky voice. "Um…b-b-because…he…uh…um…the…" She grimaced as she knew she was just sputtering words at the moment, and the maximal knew that as he narrowed his optics at her. She bit her lip lightly as she stared back at him. "B-B-Because I…"
"Yo, Donkey Kong!" Saphira flinched, glancing up at the ledge above to see Mirage aiming his weapon at the maximal. The maximal frowned in irritation upon seeing the bot. "Stay away from my friend!"
Saphira was pleased to see him, but she gasped as she heard the sound of twigs snapping as something else seemed to be approaching. "Uh…M-Mirage?!"
Mirage smirked at the girl confidently. "Don't worry! Your boy's got this!" Just as he said that, another maximal pounced on Mirage, causing the bot to squeal very loudly. And high pitched as well, making Saphira cover one ear with her hand as it hurt her ears a little. "Stranger, danger!"
Saphira blinked in shock, as this maximal looked like a cheetah in shape. The body was tan, very similar to the colour of a leucistic cheetah, though had a more gold tinge to the colour. His optics had a goldish, green colour to them and the maximal was quite larger than Mirage. He held Mirage's arms down effortlessly, while baring his teeth at the frightened bot, and Saphira couldn't believe he wasn't watching his back.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Saphira turned her head and saw Wheeljack walked through the river with his canon raised, and she gasped as she saw something running up behind him. "Not so…"
"Wheeljack! Look out!" Saphira shouted at him before Wheeljack turned to see his attacker.
A rhinoceros maximal hits Wheeljack in the back and hits him up onto a nearby ledge, but the maximal turned towards Saphira and roared at her. She shivered as she saw the glow of fire within the maximal's throat as his green optics glare at her. His colour was dark grey, and his horn was strong and sharp. Saphira knew that if she had tried to run, all three of these maximals would have easily caught her, and she did not want that to be the case.
"Hey!" She looked back over at Mirage and saw Arcee, aiming her canons at the cheetah maximal. "Here kitty, kitty!"
"Uh…th-this…" The gorilla turned his head and glared back at Saphira. "Uh…c-c-can't you…um…i-is…" Saphira swallowed nervously as she looked back at him. "W-We a-a-are looking f-f-for it because…"
She didn't get the chance to finish her sentence as she saw Optimus running towards them, and he leaped over the rhino maximal with his canon armed and aimed it at the gorilla. "Stand down!" The maximal roared and slammed his fists in the water angrily, standing on his feet as he was not deterred by the warning. "I won't ask a second time. Stand down, and step away from the human!"
Saphira looked at Optimus in surprised when he referred to her as a human, but she guessed he wasn't willing to risk telling the maximal her name right now. However, the maximal was not backing down, as he hit his chest once to try and get Optimus to shoot. Saphira scrambled to her feet, knowing she didn't want them to fight. She figured that it was possible these maximals could be their allies, and this was not a good start.
"No!" Saphira looked up and she smiled when she saw Airazor gliding down quickly. "All of you, stop!" She landed on the patch of grass and glanced at the girl curiously. "Are you alright?" She nodded affirmatively. "Good. Though I see you have a little cut to your leg."
Saphira glanced at her leg and shrugged as she was not bothered by it, and glanced at the gorilla maximal as he seemed to relax as he lowered his fists into the water and stared at Airazor with an expression of disbelief. "Airazor?"
"Primal!" Airazor was just in as much disbelief as he was. Saphira smiled a little as she was glad these two were friends. "I thought you were lost." She turned her head to look at the other two maximals. "All of you."
"The others…" Saphira raised an eyebrow immediately as Primal began to speak, not realizing there were more than just the four here. "Are they…"
Airazor lowered her gaze sadly to the ground. "I am all that is left." This seemed to upset Primal, which Saphira fully understood completely. Saphira guessed they were all close, just as the autobots were. Though Optimus did not drop his guard, even though Primal seemed unbothered. Airazor intakes and looked at Optimus. "Prime, these are my fellow maximals." She gestured with her wing towards the rhino maximal. "Rhinox." Saphira smiled at the maximal as Rhinox nodded with a huff. Airazor then gestured to the cheetah maximal. "Cheetor."
Cheetor smirked a little when he was introduced and looked at Mirage who was still pinned to the ground. "Sorry about scaring you, brother."
"Scared?!" Mirage scoffed loudly as he stood up, happy that he was no longer pinned down. Both Wheeljack and Arcee relaxed now they knew these were allies. "Please! I'm not scared!" After Mirage stood up, Saphira was surprised to see liquid dripping from his legs and shook her head in irritation. He brushed the liquid from his legs, clearly embarrassed. "That's just engine oil."
Saphira made zero comment about that, as she knew it was best not to. She looked at the last maximal who was standing proudly as he looked at Saphira while Airazor introduced him. "And our leader, Optimus Primal."
Saphira blinked and looked at Airazor in surprise. "I'm sorry, what?" Airazor nodded at the girl, confirming she had not made a mistake. "R-Really?"
Optimus himself was shocked, immediately disarming his canon and dropping his face mask. "Optimus Primal?" He had not expected to meet another with a similar name to him, nor did the other bots.
Primal smiled and turned to Optimus. "Named after you, the legendary warrior of Cybertron." He bowed his head respectfully to Optimus, while Saphira was glancing between the too in awe. "It's an honor." Saphira couldn't believe it. If that was true, these guys were from the future. He than looked at Saphira. "I guess I owe you an apology for frightening you before, young one." Saphira looked at him and smiled at him. "I was not sure what your intentions were with that key."
"Well…I can't blame you. You thought I would be a danger to you. That seems to be quite a common theme…" Saphira glanced at Optimus who frowned slightly at her, as he knew exactly what she meant. She smiled at him before looking back at Primal. "But I am honored to meet you as well. My name is Saphira, to answer your question about who I am." The maximal was pleased to know the girl's name, knowing she was part of this mess. "Though you are named after Optimus…so how far into the future are you from?"
Primal hummed in amusement at the girl's question. "That is hard to answer." She frowned a little at him as that was not helpful. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Saphira. I trust that you will relax around us maximals. I am sure Airazor has been kind to you as well." Saphira nodded affirmatively, even though she still wished for an answer. Primal looked away from Saphira as he looked at Airazor. "Airazor, I'm happy to see you, old friend. But bringing others here was not part of our plan. I fear you bring dark tidings."
"Scourge has come to Earth." Primal frowned immediately upon hearing the name of their enemy from Airazor.
"He's found us."
Airazor nodded affirmatively. "And he has half of the key. We must find the second piece before he does."
"And it was not in the cave." Saphira looked up at Primal with a curious expression. "You came after I exited the cave. Somehow, I think you knew I was in that temple looking for the key." The maximal nodded with a gentle smile. "You know where the other half is, don't you?"
"It was indeed within the cave, as you would have undoubtedly found the chest which the piece was hidden within. However, we moved it long ago to keep it safe," Primal responded in confidence.
"Where is it now?" Airazor asked with keen curiosity.
Primal smiled at Airazor before looking at Saphira. "Can you walk with that injury?" Saphira nodded affirmatively. The maximal was satisfied as he walked around Saphira. "Come with me."
Saphira was feeling very happy right now and she made her way off the boulder. Optimus watched her to make sure she could indeed walk. And while she was limping, she had bandaged the wound enough to be comfortable. Optimus was glad that Saphira seemed to be okay. She wasn't seriously injured, just disappointed that she could not find the key. But now they had more allies, and the maximals know where the key is. They at least had something that Scourge did not.
As Saphira approached the river, she glanced at Airazor. She frowned as she noticed something wrong with her right wing. It seemed to be a rust mark, though she was not sure if that is what it was. Airazor seemed to be uncomfortable as she was looking at her wing, and Saphira could not help but be concerned. "That doesn't look so good. Are you okay, Airazor?"
The maximal seemed to be happy that the girl was concerned by the mark. Optimus himself noticed the mark, only after Airazor had mentioned it. He knew it was the exact spot that Scourge had hit the maximal, though he did not know what it would do to her. "When Scourge touches you, he leaves a mark." Saphira shuddered at those words, as that did not sound pleasant. "But I'll be alright."
"I hope so." Saphira smiled at the maximal as she walked over to the bank of the river. "We already lost Bumblebee. I know we only just met you, but I would not want to lose you either, Airazor." The maximal softened her expression, not knowing how to respond to the girl. "So I hope it will be okay." She looked up at Optimus as he had been waiting for her. "Hey, Optimus…sorry that I didn't get what we were looking for."
"There is absolutely no need for an apology, Saphira." Optimus leaned down and picked the girl up gently, holding her in his palm. "I am the one who should apologize. We were not scanning our surroundings enough, which caused you to be injured." He brought her close to his face and Saphira placed her hand on his cheek gently as she listened to him. "I am just glad that…your life was not ended because of our carelessness. I would never be able to reverse that if it were to happen, and I would never be able to forgive myself."
"It is okay, Optimus. I did agree to go down there." She caressed his cheek gently and she leaned in to speak softly. "I still love you, Optimus. You might have made a mistake, but I still got out. I can easily overlook it. We will have the key soon…and you will have a chance to go home." She planted a kiss on his metal lips and he kissed her back gently. "Hopefully, we might get a quiet moment later."
Optimus nodded in agreement. His expression turned to deep sadness and glanced away from Saphira. "I think we definitely need a quiet moment…we haven't really had one for a few days…we haven't had a chance to process everything. So I am hopeful for a bit of time."
Saphira kissed his cheek gently. "I am sure we will get it. At least out here, in the jungle, we won't have to hide. We can be ourselves. And enjoy the riches around us." Optimus smiled a little and glanced away from her again. "I know…this isn't fair…but we will get through it, Optimus. I love you."
"I love you too."
"Hey! Lovebirds!" Both Saphira and Optimus flinch and frown as they look to Mirage who was looking at them with his hands on his hips. "Are you both coming or what? I don't think you want to be left behind!"
Saphira sighed loudly and looked at Optimus with a smile. "We probably should keep walking." Optimus nodded in agreement and turned to follow the other autobots and maximals. Airazor took flight to follow from the air. "If you won't mind, Optimus, can you put me down? I want to see if Mirage wants this gauntlet back. I don't think I particularly want to keep it."
Optimus hummed in amusement and lowered Saphira down to the bank, and she jumped off his hand onto the ground. "Very well. He may encourage you to keep it, as it is your only defence against Scourge. And I personally want you to have some kind of way to protect yourself. Even though I know that little gauntlet will not be able to kill Scourge if you were in real danger."
Saphira looked at the gauntlet and shrugged, even though Optimus did have a point regarding why she should have it with her. "Maybe. But hopefully Mirage can at least show me how to use it, because I didn't even know what I did to shoot at the terrorcon that was chasing me, so he needs to do that so I even want to keep it."
"I agree." Optimus smiled as Saphira turned and ran towards Mirage quickly. He noticed the maximals had stopped and were waiting patiently, though he saw that Primal seemed to be smiling in amusement, though he did not know why. "Hopefully we do not have far to go."
"At least we are somewhere nicer than New York." Saphira did not care for the water she was splashing around her as she ran up to Mirage and looked up at him. "Here, Mirage!" The bot looked down as the girl removed the gauntlet from her hand and held it up to him. "I would appreciate it if you would have given me information about this thing. I don't think I want to keep using it."
"Nah, keep it, Saphira. I'll show you how to use it, don't worry." Saphira raised an eyebrow at him and Mirage chuckled at her. "So little faith in your best friend I see. Don't be like that, Saphira." She looked at the gauntlet for a moment and thought about whether she should put it back on. "In case you haven't noticed, you are the only one here who is small and has weak, fleshy, skin on their body. You need something to protect yourself with, Saphira. You are no autobot or maximal."
"I guess you are right." Saphira moved her bag around. "I don't think I will need it right now though, but you need to show me how to use it properly later."
"I can definitely make sure of that. And one other thing…" Saphira looked at the bot curiously as he smirked at her. "Just don't ask what part of my body if came from."
Saphira frowned immediately as his response was not what she had expected at all. She groaned loudly and rolled her eyes at him. "Don't make this awkward, Mirage, or I will be giving it back to you, and you will not be saying no when I do."
"Fine, fine! It was just a joke!" Saphira hoped that it was, because she did not need to have an awkward image in her mind thanks to Mirage. But he does have a habit of getting under her skin.
"Saphira." She jumped and looked at Primal as the maximal addressed her gently. She stared at him, not knowing what to say and the maximal smiled gently at her. "You have no need to fear me, young human. I have lived on this planet long enough to understand humans fear things bigger and stronger than them. And some also intend to destroy that said being." Saphira smiled at him and walked towards him. "I cannot help but wonder how you met up with the autobots. While I never imagined I would have met Optimus Prime on this planet, my curiosity burns more about your involvement in this. Especially as this war is not really yours, even though this planet is now under threat."
"Well…" Saphira rubbed the back of her neck with an uncertain expression before she adjusted her bag for comfort and shrugged at him. "Um…it is kind of a long story. But I imagine your story is a lot longer than mine, so…um…" She glanced back at Mirage who had a sympathetic expression and looked back at Primal. "I kind of met them by accident…and it wasn't exactly the most heart warming greetings either. At least, from Optimus."
Primal seemed surprised by her response. "Optimus wasn't kind to you when you first met?" She shook her head and looked down at the water. The maximal hummed as he was expecting a different answer. "I see…that is unfortunate. But you must have managed to win over his spark. After all, it seems the two of you are infatuated with each other." Saphira blushed and shrugged without looking at him. "But how did you discover the autobots?"
She took a deep breath and knew she would have to tell him her story. "Well…I have actually tried to forget a little. Mostly because meeting the autobots also was in a time that was extremely painful for me. You see, I used to work for a man at a prestigious company in New York city. I was not even eighteen when the man found me after I had escaped from my family." Primal seemed interested to know more and Saphira smiled at him. "I am afraid talking about my childhood is too much for me. All you need to know is that I wouldn't be alive…or…free, if I had not escaped when I did."
"I am terribly sorry for the situation you found yourself in. I imagine it was not your fault." Saphira appreciated the maximal's gentle words and she sniffled a little, as she knew she had to try not to cry. "I have learned a lot about humans after arriving on this planet. I have met many who I would consider to be noble, brave and trustworthy, and I have also met many who are the exact opposite."
"So you are comfortable with humans?"
"To an extent. Please, continue your story, Saphira." She grimaced a little as she knew she had to. "I would like to know it."
"Fine." She did like Primal already. He seemed to be calm and wise, and he definitely carried himself with pride with each step. She wondered if they came from the same planet, given they seemed to be Cybertronian. "Anyway, I had worked for this man since I was sixteen, and after turning nineteen, I found myself needing a car. I had gotten my license, but I needed a car to get to certain places of the city. I didn't need one to get to work thankfully, so that was not an issue. So I was told about a Porsche for sale by my boss. And that Porsche…" Saphira pointed towards Mirage behind them. "Happened to be him."
Mirage pumped his fist enthusiastically. "Yep! The best looking Porsche in the entire world!" Saphira giggled and rolled her eyes at him in amusement for his comment. "I was sitting in that driveway for such a long time, getting sold was quite good. And never thought I would befriend a human, but I am glad it happened."
Primal was amused by the bot's words as well, though he looked back at Saphira with an expecting expression, and she knew he wanted her to continue speaking. "Anyway…at the time I bought the Porsche, I also had a boyfriend…well…I thought he was my boyfriend. And right after I showed him my new car…he…he disapproved of me having something. It was not like him at all, but…I was foolish in sticking with him." Primal said nothing to her at all. "Anyway, I got news by my boss at the time of an amazing opportunity, and after that I organized a dinner with my boyfriend. And on the night of the dinner, Optimus had decided to contact the autobots regarding the decepticon they were hunting at the time." Primal was surprised when Saphira mentioned a decepticon, as he certainly was not expecting that. "His name was Transit…I had the unfortunate experience of being kidnapped by him at some point…anyway, when Optimus first contacted Mirage, I think Mirage ignored him at first. Because nothing happened until Optimus demanded his response."
Mirage nodded affirmatively. "And, man, he was super annoying about it too!" Saphira looked at Mirage with a frown. "I had to take the poor with me through the rain that night to the big, old, shed that Optimus demanded we meet up at. I didn't want to get her involved, but I couldn't ignore Optimus."
Primal looked at Mirage curiously before he looked at Saphira. "Does he always talk like that?" Saphira nodded while Mirage was simply smiling at the maximal in amusement, and Primal sighed deeply. "Very well. I ask as I am unsure how Optimus feels about how Mirage speaks."
"I think he ignores Mirage most of the time. Mirage is young, so that would explain the behavior." Primal understood, even though he had wanted to be sure in case Optimus would get mad at Mirage. "Um, anyway, when Mirage brought me to the shed and let me out of the car, and revealed himself to be an autonomous, robotic organism…I was pretty scared. Never in my life I ever thought I would meet aliens, and I am glad that I did." Primal smiled at the girl as he knew how she felt. "But Optimus was not happy. He's never really trusted humans, and I don't particularly blame him. Though I am still unsure if he would have killed me that night if I hadn't managed to slip away."
"Why would you say that?" Primal widened his optics slightly as he listened to her. "And why would he? Even if he does not trust a human, any human who goes around speaking about robotic beings would be seen as crazy and put into a mental institute. Though I am unsure of how long the autobots have been on this world for them to understand that."
"Uhhh…" Primal turned his head slightly as Mirage began to speak. "Five years, Primal…" He held up all fingers on his hand as he responded. "We have been here five years. But unlike Prime, I took the liberty of learning about this planet a bit so I could understand humans. I never thought they were that bad, but I understand the need to protect our own."
Primal huffed lightly, agreeing with Mirage's last sentence. "I understand as well, Mirage. Though I guess we maximals have been here for a long time, that it has become normal to us. But with the world becoming exceedingly more inhabited by humans, we have had to ensure we remain hidden. The world is not yet ready to know our existence. But…" He looked at Saphira with a smile. "There are special humans in this world who are ready. And you are one of them."
Saphira nodded in agreement. "Honestly, if it weren't for the autobots, I think my life would be a bigger mess than it was. After all, when I snuck away to run to the restaurant to meet my boyfriend…I learned that I had been setup by a work colleague who knew him to punish me for doing a good job at the company. And…I was lucky they didn't kill me for it."
The maximal widened his optics in shock. "You were attacked?"
Saphira nodded affirmatively. "Yeah…they had paid some men to attack me…" She crossed her arms and shuddered as she remembered that night. "I try to forget it, but sometimes I have nightmares about it. After that, I lost my job…but not before I did manage to get payback for it. I sent my attackers to jail, and my boss lost all credibility. But…that didn't make me feel better." She looked over her shoulder at Optimus who was not far behind and listening intently. "If it weren't for Optimus's enforcement that I remain under watch by the autobots, I am not sure what would have happened to me."
"I see. He might have been unkind, but you found it better than what you had gone through by the hands of other humans." Saphira nodded and Primal hummed softly as he pondered on her story. "I applaud the strength that you have within you, young Saphira. It seems you have been inflicted cruelty from this world, but you have not let it make you cruel or broken." She looked down at the water and kicked a rock gently, feeling a little emotional at Primal's compliment. "While I am sure there is a lot more to your story regarding how you became trustworthy with Optimus, and to the point where the two of you seem to be heading towards being sparkmates, I can already see you are a strong woman. You actually remind of a human I know."
Saphira looked at him in surprise. "What do you mean by that? Did meet my doppelganger or something?"
Primal chuckled lightly at her question, amused that she thought he found someone who looked exactly like her. "No, she does not look like you. But personality is similar, even from the short time talking to you."
"Right…" Saphira wondered if she would meet this other human, but that would remain to be seen. "And what about you, Primal? Are you from Cybertron like the autobots?"
Primal shook his head. "Our worlds are quite different from each other, Saphira. While we are similar in terms of our transformation abilities and basic biology, we are not the same race. Autobots and decepticons are from Cybertron. We are not." That was definitely interesting, as Saphira had thought they were from Cybertron. But that information definitely intrigued here. "We maximals are an advanced race dedicated to the expansion of life throughout the universe. We use the Transwarp Key to visit young worlds."
"That's pretty cool." Saphira wondered if the maximals would have come to Earth, even if Scourge was not a threat to them. She thought back to the temple as she thought about the maximals on this planet. "The Nazca Lines, the Temple at Tikal, that was you guys, right?"
Primal chuckled lightly at the girl's question. "Not us. We cannot claim credit for human ingenuity." That seemed fair, and Saphira understood. "Though I guess you saw evidence of our existence, based on how the humans represented us in that temple. I understand why you would think we had a hand in it."
Optimus had been listening to Primal, and he stepped closer to the maximal curiously. "But you had the key. Why stay on this world?"
Primal did not look back at Optimus when he questioned him, and looked ahead of him. "When Unicron destroyed our world, we took an oath dedicated to the preservation of life, no matter the cost…" He took one glance back at Optimus, as Optimus's expression softened upon hearing the reason why the maximals remained on this world. "And Earth has been a safe refuge. I am sure you may disagree, Optimus Prime, but this world is our home. Even if I had the chance to leave this world, I cannot do that anymore. I have roots here on this world too deep…" He turned his head and looked at Saphira with a smile. "And a sparkmate of my own on this world."
Saphira widened her eyes in shock and she realized what he meant earlier. "Wait…when you said that I remind you of a human, were you talking about your sparkmate? Is she human too?" Primal nodded affirmatively. "Wow…w-w-will we get to meet her?"
"I am afraid not. Now that I know there is danger approaching, she will not accompany us. Especially, at this time, she is taking care of our sparklings…" Optimus widened his optics as Primal spoke of his sparkmate. He had not expected the maximal to have a human sparkmate. Saphira was intrigued as well. "Not just our eldest sparkling, but also the one she currently carries. She already knows of what has happened due to our sparkbond allowing communication. As I have had to leave her alone due to the sensors in the temple alerting us to you."
"I had not expected you to have a human sparkmate…" Primal looked at Optimus, amused by the autobot's surprise. "And…I thought I was the only one…"
"You are not, Optimus. Though it wasn't easy. It still has not been easy. While I love her with all my spark, spark bonding the way we did nearly killed her. Especially as she now lives a long life." Optimus seemed happy to know there was a way that Saphira could live a long life. Primal could see that and hummed softly. "I can tell you how to do it, as it might prevent the similar situation as what I found myself in when I committed by spark to her. We were lucky. But I would not want that for you, Optimus."
"We would fully appreciate it, Primal," Saphira said happily with a big smile on her face. Primal smiled at her, glad she would want it. "But…" She looked at Optimus for a moment and looked back at Primal. "It may not happen. The autobots are still at war with the decepticons, and they want to go home."
Primal looked at Optimus and the autobot leader nodded affirmatively, even though Primal could see that decision was hurting the two of them. "I see…though I do hope going back to a war would be worth it." He glanced down for a moment before he smiled and picked something from the water. Saphira was surprised to see a pink, water, lily flower in Primal's fingers, holding it out to her. "Here. I think this would look good in your hair. Your eyes are as green as the forest, so I imagine it will stand out."
Saphira was very surprised and took the flower from Primal, and looked at him with a smile. "Thank you." She shook off the excess water and put the flower in her hair before looking at Optimus. "What do you think?"
Optimus smiled at her with a loving expression. "Beautiful. It does match you, and I noticed that the rays of the sun are reflecting in your eyes, almost making them gold and green. It is beautiful." Saphira blushed with a light giggle. "We should proceed."
Cheetor huffed in amusement as he walked around Optimus and looked at Primal with a smirk. "Seems like the only ones among us who find human sparkmates are named Optimus." Primal and Optimus look at Cheetor with frowns, and both Mirage and Saphira giggle loudly. "Hey, I am just saying, I've been here as long as you, Primal. And, while humans are nice to hang around, I don't get how you want them as a sparkmate. Even though some are pretty, like Saphira."
Rhinox snorted in amusement at Cheetor. "Careful, Cheetoh. We can't make too hard comments now."
Cheetor shrugged and looked at Saphira. "I can't imagine how annoying you find them. I know Primal's sparkmate got annoyed with us, to the point she actually poked my optic once when I was just teasing her." Saphira was still smiling as she folded her arms at him. "Uh, oh. Looks like I found another one with claws ready." He chuckled and glanced at both Primal and Optimus. "I like her already."
"Enough, Cheetor…" Primal groaned as he rubbed his face lightly and both Cheetor and Rhinox proceeded forward. He sighed and looked at Optimus. "Don't mind him. He likes to stir things. Much like Mirage, though quite differently."
"I got that." Optimus looked ahead as he was not sure how far they were travelling down the river. He glanced around and intakes heavily. "This is definitely much better than travelling through a human city."
Saphira nodded in agreement as she walked with the autobots and maximals down the river. She did not know where the maximals have hidden the other half of the key, but that did not matter. They knew where it was, and Scourge did not. So that was the main thing. But Saphira's mind certainly was not thinking of the key completely, especially after Primal had revealed he had a human sparkmate, and offspring as well.
Saphira knew that she and Optimus probably wouldn't ever have offspring, but knowing it was possible was nice. She figured if they managed to stop Scourge and Unicron, she might remain with the maximals. After all, Saphira did not think she would be able go back to a normal life even if she was given the opportunity. She's never had a normal life to the begin with, and she didn't know if she would start now.
Regardless, Saphira was hoping that she could possibly convince Optimus to remain on this world. Especially as she would fear he would die upon returning home, which was a high possibility. Saphira could only hope for him to remain, but he was a leader. And it was his duty to protect his autobots, and Saphira wouldn't stop him if he chose to return to Cybertron. After all, she was only a human. And the autobots were his family.
