Mia stood in the vanity mirror in her new dorm room. Her cool blue eyes gazed upon her reflection, softly running her hands under her long hair to pull it from underneath her top and letting it fall down her back, She straightened her skirt and brushed off the blue cloth...
These skirts are kinda short huh?
She thought to herself awkwardly.
There was a gentle knock on her door, pulling her attention and leading her with careful steps towards it. She opened it slowly revealing three other girls at her door.
Suppose it made sense...
After all this WAS the girl's dorm...
"...Can I...help you?" she blinked curiously.
"Hey. You're Mia, right?" the blonde woman in the middle was the first to speak and grant her a smile.
"We just wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate you." she said softly, "Your duel was awesome."
"Oh...thank you." Mia blinked curiously, "And...you are...?"
"Oh sorry-" she laughed, "I guess it was kind of rude of me not to introduce myself properly." she smiled and cleared her throat, "My name is Alexis Rhodes." she stated, "These are my friends, Jasmine and Mindy- and we just wanted to say-"
"WELCOME TO THE DORM!" the two girls behind Alexis chimed excitedly.
"Uhm...yeah." Alexis said Awkwardly, "And also to remind you that The Obelisk welcome dinner will be starting soon...if you'd...like to go together?"
"Oh...I uh..."
"Wait- before you answer~" mindy giggled, "There's also a wicked Sick Obelisk party happening over at the boy's dorm after!" she stated, "Anyone who's anyone in blue is gonna be there~"
"Yeah- what do you think Mia- you've GOT to be just as curious about this year's boy crop too- right? What girl wouldn't be-"
"Come on girls..." Alexis sighed, "Don't bombard her like that- Mia might not be interested in stuff like that you know?"
"The boy's dorm? After hours?" Mia raised a brow, "But...isn't that against the rules? We could get in major trouble...is that really the impression you want to make on your first day?"
"Oh lighten up!" said Mindy.
"Yeah, it's only trouble if we get caught anyway~" Jasmine giggled.
Her eyes shifted over to Alexis.
"And you...you're going?"
"Yeah...I kind of got pressured into it too..." Alexis sighed, "Incase you haven't noticed? I'm a little out numbered here...and over powered." she sighed, "Which is why I'm talling you- you don't have to listen to them if you don't want to..."
"You said it was at the Boy's dorm, right?" she asked curiously.
"Huh?" Alexis blinked, "Yeah, that's right?"
"...And everyone is going?"
"Well...according to these two yeah...but you don't have to feel pressured or anything-"
"What about Zane?"
Alexis stopped.
"Uh...come again?"
"Zane Truesdale." Mia repeated, "He's in Obelisk too isn't he? So... he'll be at the boy's dorm? At this party?"
"Woah- Zane Truesdale!?" Mindy gasped.
"This girl's got guts- " Jasmine snickered, "Got eyes on those big fish huh?" she teased.
"Well...parties and things aren't really Zane's thing..." Alexis stated, "But...it is at the boy's dorm so the chances of him being there might actually be pretty high." she blinked, "Why do you ask? Do you...know Zane?"
"...I'll go." Mia said firmly.
"O-Oh... Uh..." Alexis seemed stunned by her sudden change of heart, admittedly it piqued her curiosity.
"That's great." she she smiled, "We can head there together after dinner- sound cool?"
"Sure...that sounds fine." Mia smiled softly.
"Awesome! This is gonna be sick~" Jasmine beamed.
"We better do up big girls~ dress to impress some boys~"
"Before we go anywhere...we better make it to role call for the welcome dinner." Alexis laughed, "Come on...Let's go!"

The Welcome dinner went smoothly...
and just as they said earlier, they snuck away immediately afterwards to doll up for this party at the Obelisk Boy's Dorm-
Wow...this is a lot of noisy garbage...
Mia thought to herself as scanned over the crowd.
They were loud.
The Music was loud.
And she was pretty sure someone slipped an extra spike in the punch...she could taste it in her glass...
It didn't taste bad...it just made this "Welcome Party" seem more like a Frat House Rager...
Blue Boys and Blue Girls smooshed together in a dorm...
She was surprised the Head Master hadn't caught wind of it...
Parties weren't excactlt Mia's thing...
She only came for one person- and she was having a hard time finding him right now-
"Come on, Sy!" said the brunette, "Let's make tracks!"
"Awe, come on Jay..." a blue haired male sighed, "Wait for me-!" he groaned, "I don't even know why you're trying to even go to this party?" he sighed, "It's not like they're gonna let us in...Reds are the bottom of the barrel..."
"Well why not, Sy?" said Jaden, "We're students here too! Just like the Blues- if we're not gonna be invited to their party...the least we can do is crash it! HAHA"
"HEY!" She let out a gasp as the brunette dressed in red had bumped right into her.
"WHOOPS~!" he laughed, "Ahh...s-sorry about that-"
"Hey, Jay- why did you- OOF." a small grunt sounded from the smaller male behind him he couldn't stop in time and found himself bumping his nose right into the brunette's back which again pushed the Slifer male forward.
A startled cry sounded from the girl as he found himself falling right into her- only to be caught just in time, and tugged back with a harsh yank.
"Hey What GIVES!?" Jaden huffed, "No need to be so rough...I'm delicate..." he mumbled dusting himself off. "...You all right there, Sy?" he asked as the smaller male straightened himself and rubbing his red nose.
The toss back seemed to Push the boy right into him once more too-
"Oow...yeah..." he sighed and blinked his silvery toned eyes before widening them as they opened to Mia, the startled brunette female who almost felt certain she was going to be meeting the floor.
"H-Hey, you're-!"
"What's up?" asked the male brunette, throwing his arm around the smaller male blinking his eyes in the same direction he was looking, "You know her, Syrus?"
"Huh?" the boy blinked, "Uh-W-Well yeah, Kinda..." he stated, "You mean you really don't know who you just nearly ran over, Jaden!?"
"Huh? Should I?" the taller male blinked and leaned in a little closer to to the female, sending her in a flush, having not been used to anyone of the opposite sex standing in such close proximity.
"Hey-Yeah! I remember you!" he beamed before turning back to the smaller blue haired male, "From the entry duels! She really tore it up! What was her name again? Maya?"
"You okay, Mia?" a snarky husked voice sounded over them as an ash haired male stepped forward beside her and folded his arms, "These wannabes didn't scuff your boots or anything did they? Because you know...I'd be happy to rough them up for ya~" he smirked.
Ugh...It's him...
"...I'm fine, Chazz..." Mia muttered folding her arms, " So they let you in too huh?"
Chazz twitched and shot a glare her way.
"I'm rich." he reminded her.
"And?" she scoffed, "Being rich doesn't account for skill~" she snickered.
"Oh yeah that's a real nice way to talk to someone who just did you a favor." he grumbled.
What are you my bodyguard? I can take care of myself." she scoffed.
"Why you little-" he grumbled, "FINE!" he scoffed, "If you want to tarnish your reputation? That's on you! See if I care!" he scoffed storming off.
"Hey...thanks for that!" he laughed softly, "Guy's a real jerk huh...by the way...you okay, Maya? I didn't hurt you or anything did I?"
"It's Mia." she said coldly, eyes shifted over to the brunette who got her name wrong...again.
"Riiight~ Mia!" he grinned, "The name's Jaden~" he stared her down a while and gave a firm nod, "Yeah...you got game." he stated,"Sorry about the mishap there haha- so... what do you think about a game against me~?" he beamed, "You know for make up for that..."
"What-Jaden!" the blue haired boy huffed.
"Come on~ Please~? Pretty Please~?"
Mia raised a brow...she couldn't help but find this guy to be a little amusing...
It was certainly refreshing from the rest of the crowd anyway.
"You...do know you two aren't even supposed to be here, right?" she chuckled, "This is supposed to be Obelisks only..."
"Come on, Jaden..." said the smaller male, trying to push his friend forward by his back, "Let's just go..." he sighed.
"Haha- yeah? Well Last I checked we're ALL out passed curfew AND mingling in co-ed situations after hours~ So...by that logic~ You're not supposed to be here either!" he smirked.
Mia chuckled.
"Touche...hey..." she shrugs, "It's not like I care anyway...If you ask me...this deck could use a couple of wild cards.
"Sweet!" Jaden smirked.
"So you mean...you're not gonna rat us out?" asked Syrus.
"Why would I rat you out? I'd be ratting myself out too...besides...I'm no snitch."Mia blinked as she thought to herself, eyes lingering on the smaller blue haired Slifer...
This boy...
He seems...familiar...
"Anyway... sorry about Mr.Third Place~" she scoffed, "He's always been a bit of a jerk..." she stated, "He calls it a favor but chances are he would have wanted something somewhere down the line...nothing is free from Chazz Princeton."
"HaHa... Third Place...I don't know what you mean by that but way to put Chazz in his place." Jaden beamed,"I think he tends to rub just about everyone the wrong way."
"Tell me about it..." Mia muttered.
"Don't worry..." said Alexis, making her way into the small powwow, "Not all of us Obelisks are like that..." she stated, " Like Mia here... and me too. I atleast try to be friendly...I'm Alexis..." she said with a smile and offered a hand to Jaden.
"Hey yeah I remember you- " Jaden grinned as he shook her hand, "Thanks for letting us know about the Welcome Dinner!"
Jaden and Syrus laughed softly amongst the small group when suddenly Syrus seemed to notice someone coming.
"Uh-oh..." Syrus gulped, "Let's go Jaden...we gotta hide...NOW!"
"What? How come? HEY!"
He got tugged away quickly, forced to duck into the shadows with Syrus while a familiar face appeared between Mia and Alexis, after the two of them shared an exchange of confusion.
"You've grown since I last saw you." he stated, "Your hair got longer...Mia."
The brunette twitched and groaned, instantly recognizing who that voice belonged to...she slowly rose her eyes up to greet none other than Zane Truesdale.
"Wait...so...you two know do each other?" asked Alexis.
The male nodded.
" We do." said Zane, "From a Junior Championshp Tournament." he stated. He shifted his gaze back to the brunette and stared a while.
'You got something to say to me, Zane?" she growled.
"Not really." he said, "Just that I'm...happy to see you." he stated with a small smile "I thought you did really well on the exam... your Dueling exam was impressive...so to see you here is kind of exciting, really" he chuckled, "It's been a while."
"O-Oh..." Mia blushed heavily with an awkward glance, "Thank you? I guess?" she blinked raiising a brow.
She wasn't sure why Zane would be excited to see her here but...the welcome was appreciated none the less.
"I haven't forgotten what I came here for." she reminded him, "I'm gonna settle things with you, Zane. You can count on that!"
"I see." Zane said as he closed his eyes as though trying to think of what to say next, "Well...I'm not worried." he said as he walked past her, "Infact...I'm looking forward to it."
