Author's Note: This takes place a few days after Scar and Shere Khan met. And also, blood and violence.
Simba, the now fully grown lion had returned to Pride Rock to take his rightful place as king of the Pride Lands. But as he had returned...
"Lady Sarabi!" Nala had called out.
A lioness named Sarabi, the former Queen of Pride Rock was chatting with a small group of lionesses at the foot of Pride Rock, until she had heard her name be called. She had quickly turned her head and a quarter of her body, seven o'clock to where she heard the feminine voice. She had easily seen Nala. "Nala? You've returned..."
"Yes, and I have brought some help, your majesty. You're not going to believe who I've found." Nala said, feeling hopeful. She then turned to her friends.
Sarabi had then followed Nala and saw three other animals that followed behind her. A red warthog and a meerkat approach her and a masculine lion. But she could not take her eyes off the masculine lion with golden fur and a fiery red mane. She wondered, who he was.
"Another lion?" Sarabai had questioned.
"Yes. He's not just any lion. He's actually..." Nala said.
"Mufasa?" Sarabi had guessed.
Simba had shook his head no. "No, mother. It's me."
Sarabi's eyes had widened in shock and surprise. "Simba... you're alive?"
The small group of lionesses' eyes had all widened in shock. They could not believe that Simba was alive, as well.
"I-I don't understand... you're alive. Where have you been?" Sarabi had asked.
"Listen, mother. It's a long story-and there's a lot that I want to tell you. But the most important thing is that I'm home." Simba brushed his head against his mother's. A sign of lions hugging.
"This is actually a miracle." Sarabi said, feeling happy.
"Mother, these are my friends, Timon and Pumba. They saved me when I was younger." Simba had introduced his mother to his friends.
"Hello, your majesty!" Timon said.
"We are honored by your presence!" Pumba said groveling.
Simba and Sarabi stared at Timon and Pumba, whom were still groveling.
"Mother, where's Scar? Nala told me what he did to this land." Simba had asked in concern.
Sarabi had looked at Simba with a serious look. "Simba. Scar is gone."
Simba and Nala had gasped, surprisingly.
"Gone? What do you mean?" Simba asked, feeling a bit confused.
"I mean... he's dead." Sarabi had said.
Simba's eyes widened. So did Nala, Timon and Pumba.
"But, h-how, mother? How did he die?" Simba asked his mother.
Sarabi had sighed. "There was..."
"RRRROOOOOOOOOOOOAAARR!"
Suddenly, a massive roar had echoed from above their heads on Pride Rock. They all had looked up at Pride Rock.
Timon had quickly jumped on top of Pumba's back frightened.
"W-what was that?" Pumba quickly placed its front legs over his legs as he cowered.
"Y-your guess is the same as mine!" Timon said as he cowered in fear.
"Wow. I never heard a powerful roar like that, before." Simba said as he stared upward.
"Neither have I." Nala said.
"Simba. There's something that I have to show you." Sarabi said.
A Few Moments Later...
Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumba were led up to the nose of Pride Rock by Sarabi-only to meet the new king of Pride Rock. Shere Khan. Whom was lying down on his belly on top of the nose of Pride Rock. Timon had rode on Pumba's back.
Shere Khan just stared at the land below him. Feeling a bit bored.
Simba had remained quiet.
"What?" Nala had asked as she had seen Shere Khan for the first time.
"Uh..." Pumba had stared at Shere Khan's rear end.
"Who is THIS squatter?" Timon asked, while pointing at Shere Khan's backside.
"Hm?" Shere Khan's attention had been quickly earned. "Did someone call me a squatter?" Shere Khan had quickly raised his head, then turned his head around, one eighty to see a Timon, Pumba, Nala and Simba for the first time.
Pumba had easily squealed when Shere Khan laid his piercing eyes directly at him. "Eek!"He quickly hid behind Nala.
Timon wasn't any different. He felt as if he had been struck by a wave of fear just by looking into his eyes. "S-sorry! My mistake! Won't happen, again!"
Nala was still curious about Shere Khan.
"Another lion?" Shere Khan had made eye contact with Simba for the first time. He had stood up on all four of his legs and slowly approached Simba. "Are you here to challenge me, as well?"
"Challenge you? N-no. I don't even know who you are." Simba said, shaking his head no.
"Shere Khan. This is my son, Simba." Sarabi had explained to Shere Khan.
"Simba, eh?" Shere Khan looked at Simba, then to Sarabi. Trying to see the resemblance. "Well, now that you mention it. I think I can see a tiny bit of resemblance between you two." Shere Khan said.
"Um, thanks?" Simba replied to Shere Khan's compliment.
"Tell me, Simba. What brings you here to this devastated land?" Shere Khan asked as he begun to walk circles around Simba.
"Well, you see. I... I came here to-"
"Came here to do what? Serve me?" Shere Khan asked, cutting Simba off.
Simba quickly shook his head no. "What? No. I came back here... to take my rightful place as king!" He said, boldly.
"So, you came back from wherever you were to take your rightful place as king, huh?" Shere Khan had asked.
"That's right." Simba had nodded.
"So, you have come to challenge me, then!" Shere Khan had assumed.
"No!" Simba shook his head no, again. "Look. I didn't come here to fight!"
"Yes, yes. That's what they all say. Until they catch you off guard and attack from behind. But I must warn you. I'm not easy to defeat." Shere Khan said as he kept continuing to walk circles around Simba.
"Listen. I may not know anything about you or where you came from... but, maybe we can work something out. I had originally came back to the Pride Lands to stop my uncle's tyranny and make the Pride Lands a better place, again!" Simba said in his defense.
"You uncle?" Shere Khan had stopped walking for a second.
"Yes. His name was Scar. I was told that he died." Simba said.
"Oh... you mean that lion with the dark mane and the scar over his eye?" Shere Khan asked as he opened a single claw on and ran down his claw near his eye.
"You know him?" Simba asked.
"Yes. And I killed him." Shere Khan said.
Simba and Nala had gasped, surprisingly.
"You killed Scar?" Nala asked.
"That is correct." Shere Khan had easily replied.
"Why?" Simba had growled in a bit of fury. He had begun show his teeth at the Bengal tiger.
"Because, he and his pesky, brute and savage hyena army had tried to murder me. Now, don't get me wrong. This was done in self-defense." Shere Khan saw Simba glaring at him and not buying his words. "You don't believe me? Fine. Ask your mother. She can tell you what happened."
"Huh?" Simba stopped growling at Shere Khan and had looked confused. He then looked to Sarabi.
"What he's saying is true." Sarabi had said.
Flashback
A Few days prior... Shere Khan had roamed on the Pride Lands and was quickly approached and attacked by a big group of hyenas. He had been easily surrounded and Shere Khan had already killed a few hyenas with powerful strikes.
Scar had walked down off of Pride Rock and onto the ground and approached Shere Khan. "And whom might you be?" Scar asked as he had approached the Bengal tiger. He seemed a bit interested.
"Me? I'm just a mere tiger that just goes wherever the wind takes me."
"A tiger?" Shinzi asked. Learning of Shere Khan's species.
"Yes. I am Shere Khan. The greatest cat to ever exist! The destroy conqueror of lands and the destroyer of man cubs!" Shere Khan had bragged and introduced himself to Scar and the hyenas.
"Shere Khan, eh?" Scar said as he raised his right paw near his lower mane.
"Man cub? What's a man cub?" Banzai had asked, confused.
Ed, who stood next to him shrug.
"It doesn't matter what a man cub is, you idiot! Get rid of this cat at once!" Scar had ordered his hyenas to attack Shere Khan once more.
"Y-yes, Scar!" Banzai and Ed had saluted.
"And speaking of idiots... isn't it foolish to kill and chase away all the prey that lived in this land? I mean, it's not like you're going to last until the next season." Shere Khan had asked.
Scar had glared at Shere Khan, whom just smiled. "How dare you defy me, you impudent misbegotten excuse for a cat? Hyeanas! Finish him off and make sure you feed devour every last piece of his flesh until he is nothing but bones!" Scar had ordered his hyenas to execute Shere Khan.
Shere Khan looked at all the growling hyenas around him. He remained calm and confident. "Now, now, friends. Are you really going to listen to a scrawny lion that's going to bring you to starvation and ruin? I mean, look what he's done to this land."
"What do you mean?" Shinzi had asked.
"Just think about what you all are doing. If you eat all your food at once, you won't be able have eat it, later." Shere Khan had pointed at his own head.
A few hyenas in the group had begun to look at each other with common sense.
"Even I know that life moves in a circle. And if you disrupt that flow in any point-everyone suffers." Shere Khan had told the group of hyenas.
"He's kinda got a point." A random hyena in the crowd said after listening to Shere Khan.
"No! Don't listen to him!" Scar yelled to his hyena army.
"If I was your king, I would make sure to ration our food instead of fighting over it and eating everything willy-nilly." Shere Khan said.
"Don't you dare trust that freakish cat!" Scar had insulted Shere Khan. "I am your leader! I brought you all to paradise!"
"And yet, you destroyed this paradise by letting it rot." Shere Khan said.
"You can't trust him! He's already killed a few of your kin! He's more than likely to throw you all back into the shadow lands-just to keep all the food for himself!" Scar yelled as he pointed his left paw at Shere Khan.
There was a moment of silence.
"Yeah, let's listen to King Scar. He knows what's best for us." A random hyena said.
Scar smiled after listening to one of his hyena subordinates.
"Are you kidding me?" Another hyena had spoken up. "I haven't eaten in three days and I'm super hungry! Scar doesn't care about us!"
Scar frowned after hearing the second hyena's response. He had turned eight o'clock toward the hyena that called Scar out. "Why, you backstabbing..."
Without warning... Shere Khan had pounced on Scar and attacked from behind. Scar was pinned to the ground on his back.
The hyenas just stood and watched their king, Scar be mauled, mercilessly and brutally.
"Argh! What are you all just-agh! Don't just stand... help me!" Scar yelled in agony, while being attacked by Shere Khan. He tried to ask his subordinates for help. Blood was gushing from Scar's body.
"We gotta save Scar!" Shinzi yelled.
"No, we don't!" Another random hyena yelled in the crowd.
Shinzi, Banzai and Ed looked to their right and saw the hyena that spoke out.
"I'm hungry and Scar is gonna help me by letting me feed on his flesh."
Shinzi, Banzai and Ed and many other hyenas didn't like what the individual hyena just said. They growled.
"What was that?" Shinzi said as she showed her teeth.
"You heard me. Bitchzi." The hyena had replied.
"Oh, you are dead!" Shinzi, Banzai and Ed had begun charging at the hyena that insulted Shinzi. The next thing you know, the army of hyenas had begun fighting each other. Making it a free for all. As this was happening... Shere Khan had already finished his brutal assault on Scar. Which had left Scar all bloody and had tiger claw marks all across his body. His throat had been bitten into. There was a puddle of blood beneath him. Shere Khan's mouth was covered with Scar's blood. He smiled down at the barely lifeless Scar.
Suddenly... the sky had begun thundering, which earned Shere Khan's attention.
Shere Khan looked up at the sky and saw the clouds were dark. "Uh oh." Shere Khan had then begun running toward Pride Rock to gain some higher ground.
As Shinzi, Banzai and Ed were fighting their hyena brethren, Banzai had stopped all of a sudden and saw Shere Khan running toward the top of Pride Rock. "Hey, where's he going?"
Shinzi had spotted Scar's lifeless bloody body. She gasped in horror, then growled at Shere Khan's backside. "Banzai. Ed. Let's get him and finish him off-"
Suddenly, a lightning bolt had struck the grass where the hyenas were standing on and had started creating a wild fire. The fire quickly spread, almost creating a wall around Pride Rock. Many of the hyenas had saw the fire growing and had begun to back off. Some of the hyenas didn't pay attention in time, due to fighting had been caught in the flames. The survivors had started to run elsewhere away from the pride lands.
Shere Khan, whom had made it to the nose of Pride Rock managed to escape the flames safe and sound he saw some hyenas who survived the fire run off from the Pride Lands. He smiled. "Now, that takes care of them." He then heard a few growls from behind. He quickly turned around to see a group of lionesses, led by Sarabi taking an offensive pose and showed their teeth in a hostile manner toward him.
"Oh, dear." Shere Khan said as he was being approached by lionesses.
"Who are you? And what are you doing int he Pride Lands?" Sarabi had begun interrogating Shere Khan.
Shere Khan had cleared his throat. "Ladies. Ladies. I may not be a fellow lion like you all, but please. Listen to what I have to say. I had killed the lion that had devastated this land and I have chased the last of the hyenas away from this territory."
Many of the lionesses had lowered their guards as they heard Shere Khan.
"This land is now free from the tyranny of the hyenas." Shere Khan said.
"Just... who are you?" Sarabi had asked.
"Me?" Shere Khan smiled. "I am..."
End Flashback
"Wow. I can't believe he did that." Nala said.
"Yeah. It feels so unreal." Simba said with doubt in his voice.
"Yes. And now you know the truth." Shere Khan told Simba.
"I... I don't know what to say."
"You can start with a thank you." Shere Khan said as he walked back down to the nose of Pride Rock and sat. "This land should be healing in no time. And the herds should be coming back, too.
Simba just stared at Shere Khan's backside. He had suddenly looked down and begun to question his purpose.
Nala had suddenly glanced at him and saw that Simba wasn't looking so good.
"You can stay here, if you want. As long as you don't double-cross me." Shere Khan said.
Simba simply closed his eyes. 'Father. What did you even bring me back here for?'
